So, what were legendary skins been advertised as? "Completely new character, 2 characters in 1" and so on. A skin that turns ONE character with ONE personality and appearance into ANOTHER with ANOTHER personality and appearance.

In case of Lisa Garland, she kinda fit into that description, despite being a not very good skin: she had different lobby stance and generally looked like a different character as she definitely had a different personality compared to Cheril. People didn't like her because she didn't gave much changes for a 15$ skin, but she fit into description of legendary quality nonetheless.

Now. Guardian of Labyrinth aka Minotaur skin for Oni. Not only this skin doesn't have any changes, but it also doesn't fit into a description of "Completely new character" and here's why:

    • Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST using a JAPANESE weapon (Kanabo)?
    • Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST that is HALF MAN HALF BULL charging like a SAMURAI?
    • Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST mimicking Kazan's Yamaoka sword technicues (in the lobby, in the game during 2nd hit animation and so on)?

    Not very major, but nonetheless:

    • Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST performing Kazan's Yamaoka SIGNATURE killing move? You can argue that ripping tongue and bashing them with a heavy weapon isn't very unique and it's pretty likely for a beast like Minotaur do something like that too and I can partly agree, but nonetheless it just adds up into "not so new character".
    • Why does Minotaur have THE SAME VOICE as Yamaoka Kazan? Yeah, Cheril and Lisa have the same voice, but remember that Lisa has unique lobby animation and different facial animations?

I suppose there are some minor changes (animation/sounds) but I haven't noticed them after 4 hours of playing Oni in new skin, so I assume there are none.

In the end, Minotaur skin is just a reskin of Oni. A beautiful one, undoubtly, but just a reskin which I personally CANNOT consider a separate character or LEGENDARY worthy. It is a Purple or Very rare skin, but NOT a LEGENDARY. He has NO unique personality. He is NOT a separate character, but just a purple skin for Oni that is posed as a legendary.

Now, what do I suggest to make this legendary skin BETTER. I'll start from simplest to hardest options in my opinion:

    1. Make him different voice. Simply lower the pitch of already recorded voicelines, that'll do the trick.
    2. Give him new lobby animation. EVEN THAT would be enough to give Minotaur a unique personality.
    3. Create new animations for Demon Dash. Anything noticeable. For example if he additionally lowers his head horns forward like a bull (while Oni keeps his head straight).
    4. Create new mori animation. Yes. For example - he bashes a survivor with his kanabo/club multiple times or lifts them on his horns.
    5. Replace his Kanabo. With anything. A big bone, a wooden club, a mace, a n y t h i n g that is not a weapon associated with japanese warriors. An additional point for making a weapon associated with ancient Greece.

I hope you'll do what needs to be done and give Minotaur what he deserves. I've been disappointed in that skin, but I still have faith in you, Devs. Please do the right thing and give Minotaur personality.

@Almo @Peanits can I have your response/opinion on this topic? Is this how legendary skins are going to be? No changes or anything to separate them from main character theme?

Thank you, have a nice day

What makes no sense is how the tome goes almost completely against her origins. I wonder if it is a disconnect between the writers now and the content from earlier...

Hag is from a remote village in the backstory. Unless they are inferring that America is some kind of remote country, the new lore counters this.

The only way I could see the rift reconciled with the lore is if that version of the Hag is from a parallel timeline... but that is it. Are killers the same beings plucked from multiple timelines, or are they one from one timeline and with multiple looks.

The cosmetics seem to indicate the former theory, while the foundations support the latter. They need to clarify this, as it will become a problem for their writing team later if we do not understand the rules on which the story is based, we will have questions they do not want to answer... to add to the pile of things they do not want to answer for already...

I mean BHVR has spaghetti code so why not spaghetti writing too?

They had to be two separate writers or someone really doesn't understand how to do the simplest of research...

Except we're asking for something small like an aura read or a temporary healing boost. A SWF group doesn't really benefit much from an aura, and a short healing speed boost is "meh" in solo or SWF

Actually a short healing speed boost isn't "meh" because (once again) SWF.

I really don't care what BHVR adds, I was just explaining why the aura exist on BBQ and then added why I believe WGLF doesn't have another effect.

They said they were sticking to humanoid, which is two arms and two legs and a head. They said this because they would be able to use similar rigs for killers. It is why they aren't making creatures a part of it. No multi-leg creatures. At least until further notice.

Even this one if we don't know which mori do you have. We can't know if you'll kill us as soon as someone unhooks us.

How does that make it "unfair".

Not knowing if you can be moried off first hook or not simply mean you'll find out later. I hate how spoon fed everything is becoming in this game.

Killer has a hex perk, tell survivors right off the bat. Killer has an aura perk, tell survivors instantly. Survivor has an obby perk (and you as killer do not) tell the killer instantly. Obby is being chased, tell all other survivors they are being chased....

There seems to be no suspense or guesswork anymore. All the information you need is freely given, making the game a M1 simulator as a survivor. This isn't some shot at survivor players either but the design choice of removing any sort of tension you may have felt playing them.

  • @D3_destr0y3r said:

When Actual BBQ shows auras of survivors and awards the same amount of bloodpoints? BBQ provides benifits and bloodponts, WGLF only provides bloodpoints.

Granted atm all Aura perks are useless, but that will be fixed and I still want to know why.

BBQ had the aura ability put in to encourage people to not stay near the hook but instead go out and chase other people. It was designed with the intent to cut down on staying near the hook. However because of how many ways there are to hide your aura it doesn't really do anything. The majority of the time you won't see any auras and either you will think they are nearby or you will just use the perk for the BP.

As for any possible "effect" that could be added to WGLF just remember that whatever you add has the potential to be multiplied by 4 (or 4+ if you're SWF)

after campaign what do you do on doom to consistently play it?

I'm the type of idiot who tries to beat the "single life" mode on these games. I typically do progress runs (sorta like speed runners except I'm not trying for time, just progress) and I did go back for all unlockables after the first campaign run.

I played Doom 2016 for about 4 months until I beat the single life run. I also play PS4 so I cannot "cheese" it like PC can.

  • @Schinsly said:

Storytime, when I used to play fortnite i was a very good player, top 1%. Epic added skill-based matchmaking into solo public matches, which has driven away everyone that isnt terrible enough to only play bots or people that play 12 hours a day and play every solo pub like a competitive game. Content creators basically cant make funny content anymore because theres no more random players that could be really bad or really good.

If dbd gets MMR, every game will literally be sweaty nurse or a sabo squad if youre good, and if youre bad you will probably suffer from playing with people that are even worse than you or playing against killers that are way better than you because the system wont be perfect.

The game isnt competitive, its not a 1v1, theres no way to measure survivor and killer skill relatively. I actually believe this could kill the game and I am really not looking forward to only being able to play nurse and never being able to solo q.

Also content creators rely on getting bad/interesting teammates or killers, which doesn't happen often since it takes hours to get a couple good games. This is why when you're favorite survivor is playing on stream they always have a teammate or two to ensure the stream can still be entertaining instead of losing half the games.

In short, I hope MMR is either removed or not as bad as i see it to be, but for now i can only hope.

In regards to DBD not being competitive, I agree. However due to rank being the only option and the constant "pip/depip" after a match being tossed in your face, DBD resembles a game that IS competitive. If rank didn't exist and you didn't see "Entity Displeased" or a "depip" after a match you wouldn't feel so bad.

I have been playing since day 1 release and I do not care for kills/escapes. I play for fun interactions and funny moments, but even I feel a little punch in the gut when I see a "de pip/entity Displeased" because its a negative score on a game I tried to have fun in.

If a casual mode existed I'd play it ALL the time, not because I lack skill or can't handle pressure, but because I want to have fun and not take DBD seriously and I'd like to do that without the game telling me "YOU DID POORLY!".

So the reason I don't think MMR is going to fix anything is due to the fact that DBD forces elements of a competitive game without the required balance of a competitive game. This forces casual and competitive players to be grouped together no matter what. Meaning that solo survivor who is goofing around yet getting escapes will eventually get matched with competitive players and be crushed for goofing around. This in turn will cause the competitive players on their team to "flame" them for goofing around. Rinse and repeat for both sides and you still have people fighting, people trying to lower MMR, people trolling and a game that doesn't identify with either player type trying to magically make both happy.

DBD needs to either balance for a competitive setting, remove ranking and give DBD a more casual feel OR add a rank/casual gamemode.

    Otherway round.

He's saying that BHR consistently has had poor direction. Not updating core game issues-like swf which has been an toxic issue brewing since they refuse to do anything about it- items, offerings and map based stuff hasn't had any extentions despites us being whatever chapters and killers in. We got walls though...

The point is the color blind thing would of been a nice thing to do if they cared about their players to make it accessable to people who want to play, but consistently they pick producing stuff they can sell constantly over anything else. This game has been desperately needing many bug fixes, QOL updates and especially having all those fields get actual extentions. But you can't sell a new map interactable or item to collect as dlc-and you shouldn-t so instead the maps remain barren and we get another gimmick skin or killer.

    Ah, got it.

If this community actually acted like decent human beings maybe I'd have faith, but no one does and I'd rather not deal with childish screaming in my ear. I stopped playing COD ages ago due to this, even Apex I had to mute everyone the moment the game started.

    4 man swf.

P1- Ok Jim is new and terrible at the game so P2 and P3 and myself will all go get chased and do gens. Jim you go hide in a corner.

P1- Alright everyone we have all maxed our points lets all DC and boost Jims BPs.

Jim who made about 100 BPs for almost being in the killers TR now walks away with 40k BP.

Sadly giving anything like this will be exploited by SWF groups (not everyone) and will simply lead to a "justification" for mass DCs.

You have over 4000 comments on this forum and you think in this current patch, 4.1, gens are faster than ever to complete?

Penalties for stacking gens were increased.

    Toolboxes were nerfed.

BNP was nerfed. (Remember when it used to insta complete a gen?)

I love hyperboles as much as the next guy, but c'mon.

You are correct, I have over 4000 posts on this forums and have been playing since day 1 and I understand that gens can be completed faster than ever. I'm also speaking on average because the dark days of 4 BNP instantly completing 4 generators are too painful for me to want to recall.

  • Only worked on Haddonfield because you needed a second story window and no roof/ceiling so you could fly.

Basically the Hag would climb out the second story window and put a trap exactly where she landed. You had to be using the add-on that makes her phantasms have collision.

Next a survivor would slow vault out that same second story window and as they fell the trap would trigger. If the trick worked the hitbox of the phantasm would launch the survivor up so high into the sky they would basically vanish. As survivors fell they could even land on top of most house roofs.

Pretty sure you can still find videos online.

It still works exactly the same as it did before.

The only difference is the hatch spawns regardless of the number of generators completed when there is only one Survivor left alive.

It's perfectly fine as it is now.

No hatch = no way to trigger EGC and end the game, not sure how some of you don't understand this.

    You just contradicted yourself.

It cannot work "exactly as it did before" if it doesn't actually work as it did before.

  • @mouse0270 said:

I always find it weird when people try to compare DBD to other dead(ish) games.

    Like right now

    • F13 has 106 players or 11.7 matches
    • Last Year has 13 players or 2.6 matches
    • RE has 320 players or 64 matches
    • DBD has 40,594 or 8,118.8 matchs

I am not saying those games didn't have their good features, I am saying DBD is clearly the one doing things right because all of these games are newer than DBD yet none of them were good enough to make draw a way DBDs core base.

Honestly the best thing about F13 was the voice comms and how people roleplayed survivors over the comms. Yeah it got old after a while, but it was probably my favorite part of it. F13 was designed around a single killer with a specific set of skills. Also he is super strong because its 8v1 not 4v1. The reason they have many tools to stun the killer is because that single killer is very strong where in DBD there is a range of killers and much smaller maps. Survivors still have many ways to fight the killer, pallets, flashlights, DS, and head on.

As for RE, your lore issue, their is plenty of lore between the survivors and killers found in their bio's and cosmetic descriptions. The reason their lore probably doesn't make survivors feel unique is that I think the devs try to make it so you can play any survivor you want and modify them via perks. If they were to add active or passive effects to survivors based off their lore, than you would have a tier list of survivors because then certain passive or active abilities would better than others.

-F13 had a huge legal battle

-Last Year....sorry what game is that? I'm guessing poor marketing could be an issue I honestly don't know this one.

-RE is a game that's BUNDLED with another game RE3, so that turns many away. If RE was its own separate beast I think it would easily "compete" with DBD. I'll use the term lightly because DBD is basically the "Smash Bros of Horror".

-DBD has a decent player base and one of the most toxic.

If RE was not bundled with RE3 I know I would be playing a ton more RE than DBD. I enjoyed DBD for some time but many changes and mostly the communities constant toxicity has simply pushed me away. I don't hate the game or the Devs I just can't stand the people that play.

I typically find out where the survivors live and send over a guy to yell FREE PIZZAS outside their door. In the mass confusion and pizza fueled frenzy I then proceed to kill all the afk survivors.

Get a message while waiting for match from the killer. He sent it to all 4 survivors. The message included instructions. Not kidding. Informed us we were to all meet at the center of the map. After hanging each of us twice he would step away and allow us to do generators and then leave. Even went so far as to say if anyone did a generator before we were all hung twice he would be forced to prevent us from leaving. Here's the thing. If a killer sends me a message before a message ASKING me to help with some sort of objective I will go along even though I don't really like farming. Send me a message demanding I play along and give me an ultimatum......

I didn't respond to him, but I did switch characters. I haven't used my fully immersive Blendette build in quite awhile. I guess I'm not the only survivor that wasn't willing to play along when given an ultimatum. Two other survivors switched to Blendettes. I played a Yamaoka offering and messaged the other survivors.

We decided we would do nothing that makes noises. Didn't attempt to do a generator. Just sneaking around the map hiding from the killer. 15 minutes into the match when the killer had only managed to find one person. He hung and facecamped that one. He sends a message telling us if we will let him hang each of us once he will let us leave afterwards. After it became obvious we weren't going to comply he DC'd.

This was the only time I have ever received a message before a match from a killer giving me instructions with an ultimatum. It was really fun to make him regret being arrogant enough to presume he could tell us what we were going to do. If it ever happens again I've got my Blendette ready to go.

    Here is what you are going to do;

1: You will cease posting comment replies on this thread anymore.

2: You will delete any comments currently posted on this thread, with the exception of this one.

3: You will upload any and all pictures of shirtless Myers you can find on the internet.

4: You shall then contact Peanits and inform him that this skin WILL be added into the game, or else.

5: You shall continue to do so until I say otherwise.

Should you for any reason NOT comply I will be forced to do nothing about it and simply move on to another whom shall be chosen in place of you.

It usually backfires though. Now you need to camp that exit gate or search the other gate. Either way, the survivors can see what you do and act accordingly to either open the other gate if you camp or sneak past you if you go to the other one.

Yeah but if the gate was 99% it was basically opened anyway. My point was that many players believe survivors can still hold a game hostage by 99% gates then just hiding, when in fact as a killer you can open the gate and force the match to a close.

Way back in the time tunnel I had a friend who would complain the struggle mechanic was destroying his controller because the "side to side" motion was breaking his analogue stick.

It is just the nature of this game that rapidly tapping A and D is bound to wear them out over time. Same is true for the space bar when struggling on hook.

Also, even if we ignore the breaking part, can we just agree that the struggle mechanic is simply not fun nor smooth. I doubt that many of you can get the bar to progress in steady clean pace if not using some bot program that presses the keys for you that some people like to use.

I play PS4 so I just spin my analogue stick in circles. Works smoothly.

If it seems like Survivors are holding the have hostage at the Gate, the Killer is free to just open it themselves. This can also be done to make darn sure Blood Warden pops.

I think many people forget you can open the gate as killer.

So I finally decided to try for his adept. Got it on my second try. But my question is how do so many console Billy's manage to turn so effectively? I ran spiked boots, which helped. But I still feel pretty clunky trying to turn. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well if you have the sensitivity turned to max then all you need to do is push the thumbstick to the left or right all the way. Unlike a mouse you cannot mess this up. Just push till it pushes no more ^.^

The REAL question should be "Hey console players, how do you fella's actually see ######### when the FPS is so damn blurry!?"

Exactly! No matter who you play as, survivor or killer, your going to eventually meet a toxic/entitled player. Roll with the punches and move on to the next game.

I have yet to be punched and my chair is not the best place to try and roll, but I agree.

Take my advice as someone who equally plays on both sides.Put your messages on friends only that works for me on ps4.

But how can I send you memes if I cannot message you!!!!

In all honesty though.....how can I send you memes if I cannot message you.

Killers can be just as entitled as survivor, there's just more survivor players which makes it seem one side is more entitled than the other.

Because its entitled people, not roles.

Someone who plays survivor with an entitled mindset will also play killer with a entitled mindset. They will then move on to play another game and also play that game with an entitled mindset.

The reason I'm asking that question is because the devs banned the use of MLGA and they should see this and think if they will ever want to play against/with this guy again...what a great player experience

Fail to see the problem here. It seems pretty clear he is doing a Pyramid Head RP and is very accurate to the main game. /s

You breath louder making you easier to find even if your not injured + spirits main counter (iron will) dosent work

-Go to school and take all the Business degrees you can possibly get your hands on (preferably by force).

-Get a job in some big tech company.

-Work your ass off to move your way up the ranks.

-Eventually befriend the CEO of the company and stage an "accident".

-With the CEO out of the way take over the company and buy ALL the worlds supply of headsets OR buy out the supply chains.

-Now make up a story that has a "mass recall" of all the product currently sold to reduce the amount of headsets available to people who already own them.

-Start up a game of DBD and laugh at all the spirit players who are forced to use their speakers to play the game.

At this point I don't understand why people think its that hard. I'm already partway to finishing this list.
