Okay, time to give what I gave the others.

FNAF characters have no weapons, they literally just scare you and thats all, along with this all the games are set onto a timer, which is NOT how dbd works at all. To add onto this because I KNOW someone is gonna mention it, Pyramid Head was added because the game Silent Hill was and still is, the definition of psychological horror, while FNAF is literally just a game about dead kids souls being trapped inside of robots that yell at you, every killer in DBD has a weapon of some sort that is an M1 and biting a survivor would look bloody hilarious, along with this, pretty sure none of the FNAF characters have claws. FNAF does not fit into dbd not because of the game just being centered around just jumpscares to make it considered “horror”, but because all the ‘logical’ powers any of the robots could have wouldn’t fit into how dbd is played. If DBD was like REsistance (resident evil:resistance) then it would fit, however the game is about killing all the survivors before they escape, not kill them before the timer ends

While the games are not for everyone the lore is actually pretty deep/100% horror.

The suits (anamatronics) are inhabited by the souls of dead children, they basically roam/haunt the pizza place trying to enact revenge upon the one who killed them/those in their way.

So they don't just "scare you" (in fact one of the games they literally scoop out someones insides and turn them into a human body with a robot exoskeleton) but do in fact kill people.

Weapons are not really an issue. They could punch, scratch, use any item seen from the games (list goes on).

I'll say this again, I'm not a fan of the games but the lore 100% could work in DBDs setting. Hell even "William Afton" (think that was the killers name) could be the survivor because the whole point is that the animatronics want him to suffer.

Actually, I don't think that is true. The newer experiences are VR and AR, and still trying to uphold the creepiness factor. Trying to immerse one within the experience...

I think the merch, which is more reflective of the companies behind them, market to kids like many other franchises do, and because the premise actually can allow for that. You cant sell PH to children, but you could sell Springtrap, and he is a far more tortured soul than PH ever can be when you get into the details.

I just want to see PH plushies now.

First of all enough is enough, I tried to be calm about it but guys, this was not intended to start an argument, an attack on a player base, or whatever you think it is, I just wanted to talk about why I would think it would be interesting to have this character in the game, SO I ask kindly can you please not fight over a opinion I have when I'm okay with negativity , and secondly don't fight over which movies are childish and which ones are not, I've been trying to avoid toxicity, and show maturity with in the fnaf community, but right now its starting to fade, so please do me a favor and stop it now please and thank you.

Only because you think we are "fighting" allow me to clarify, I typed my responses out with a calm mind and a calm voice (if it were to be read as such) and from the responses I received from @Meatbycicle I also got that same tone.

We were simply having a discussion regarding the topic NOT a fight.

One of the most dangerous things when reading a post/comment is adding any sort of "emotional context" to it because it can make you read something completely different. At no point in time did I assume @Meatbycicle was angry with me or fighting, they were simply giving their side of the story and showing where their mindset was formed. I appreciate that and can understand where they were coming from.

Even THIS comment is written with a calm mind and a calm voice as I simply want you to understand (at least with us two) no fighting was happening.

these threads need to stop tho they don't help just start endless fighting till mod have to close them.

Agreed that these threads can devolve into nothing but spewing toxic hate at one another but that is no reason to stop a thread. Its the toxic people that need to be dealt with, not silencing peoples opinions.

I agree with you on certain things. However the game itself, and all products produced for it afterwards were marketed towards younger audiences. Even the creator himself has come out and said he hates what the game and its audience have become.

The kids that grew up watching Pewdiepie and Markiplier playing FNAF are around what? 16 to 18 years old now, so obviously they hold it dear to their hearts. That doesn't mean its a right fit for DBD though.

Just because you played DOOM or Duke Nukem as a kid (I did too!) doesn't mean those game were marketed towards kids, or had the same child following and stigma that FNAF does.

As you said the games LATER became targeted towards a younger audience due to the player base it started to garner, meaning the original cast of characters created were not done so under that new mindset.

Its ultimately up to BHVR to add whatever brings in the money and players, and while I would not buy a FNAF chapter/character I wouldn't fault them for wanting to do it as clearly there is interest within the community for this to happen.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1473073#Comment_1473073

Yeah like when Ghostface or Pyramid head came out I sat there and asked " Uhh... who?" You know I didn't know them and theyu are really good so I'm okay with them being in DBD, and again yes Fnaf was never intedned for kids it just happened through a series of unfortunate events which led it to be called a kids game

Exactly. I'm not a fan of the FNAF series of games but the characters were created to be "horror villains/killers". They are killers plain and simple. Scott created this as a horror game NOT a kids game. So people need to set aside their personal opinions about FNAF and realize that even if they don't like the series the characters themselves ARE horror villains or horror killers that could fit the genre of DBD.

  • I will quote my own answer;

"The game (FNAF) was never created to be a "children's game" and that is simply what people choose to associate it with because children (the ones most likely to follow Youtube creator they enjoy watching) started playing the game."

On the other hand someone like Robbie rotten (an amazing character for the memes alone) WAS part of a children's show. He is a bad guy for a children's show and was never created to be a "horror villain". Your examples are comparing characters that were never part of the genre being discussed.

  • @Dabihwow said:

Hey guys its Dabih and I wanted to talk about a subject I wanted to talk about but didn't have the courage to mostly because of what this subject is. And that is Springtrap being in DBD, I know how controversial this is, and how many people hate the idea. But this is something I wanted to get off my shoulders and talk about. So to begin why I think he would be a great addition is because he is a memorable and iconic character in the horror genre, and the Fnaf game is a very memorable, popular, and important pinnacle of the horror franchise. And the fact that the game is painted to some as a kids game is kinda sad to me, the thing is that Fnaf is considered this because of its audience. When it came out it was never intended to be for a younger audience but during the time it was released it was difficult to control what you could watch on Youtube and I think you know the rest of the story. But by then the damage was done and Scott Cawthon couldn't really do anything( meaning: make it more graphic and violent, or swearing/ basically anything to make the game rated M) about it when a great majority of fans of the game were young

I say Fnaf is a pinnacle of horror for its jump scares, all of those who played the original 4 know what I'm talking about there was a level of fear that was within Fnaf that made it very uncomfortable to play, it was just the tone it had. I think it was a smart to create something that we usually would love and make it into something terrifying works greatly and at times you felt utterly helpless also that heightened the fear within the games. The Jumpscares are terrifying for the fact it was right in front in your face made it all the more scary and were unsuspecting. I think the franchise has made its mark in the history of horror.

Now here is a personal level for me why I would love to see Spring trap in the game. When I was growing up in school i would here people talk about a game called Five Nights at Freddys, I was curious and looked it up and to my surprise it was popular seriously back then if you looked up fnaf you would see tons of youtube videos with theories and gameplay, I mean this was the crave back then and still is today(to some degree). A group in my school who were big fans of the franchise had a little get together at times, I was social outcast and me being a fan of the game and actually connecting with people that enjoyed what I enjoyed made me feel accepted. I joined the group and I became happier and more self esteem, we had many great discussions sharing our experiences of the game, they were fun. Overtime I felt better about myself and I didn't consider myself an outcast anymore, in a way FNAF has changed my life for the long run. Even when it became more kid friendly at times I reminded myself this is a game I will stick with for a long long time, because it really was a dark and twisted series. After a while my love for the franchise died slightly, and this when I got into dbd and when I heard someone started a petition to get Springtrap in the game I was down for it immediately. I really want this to be in the game because fnaf was the first ever horror series I actually got into, I mean this was my childhood, this game made me into a huge fan of horror and introduced me to a genre I truly love, and I thank the game for that, it would make me and some other people happy to see the game that cemented my love for horror in general into dbd, and honestly I think if it were ever to come to the game it will show what Fnaf could've been, a darker more gruesome tone than what was given. Thank you that is all I have to say and I know I'm digging my grave but that's okay, I'm willing to admit that I am someone who supports this.

I will give the answer I give to all of the "Lets have killer (insert name here) into DBD." I do not care if its a killer I personally enjoy/know, if its well implemented and offers something new to the roster then let it happen. I don't enjoy Leatherface (wasn't a fan of the movies, and I'm not a fan of the characters game-style, yet I would never say "remove Leatherface from DBD" or "Leatherface shouldn't have been added."

    @MeatBycicle said:

I'm going to answer this thread with the same answer I gave the last 20. No, a character from a children's game doesn't belong in DBD.

The game was never created to be a "children's game" and that is simply what people choose to associate it with because children (the ones most likely to follow Youtube creator they enjoy watching) started playing the game.

I use to play Doom and Duke Nuke' em a ton as a child because my Dad played it (and ended up letting me) that didn't make the game a "children's game".

If I'm not planning on sticking around I'll 99% a gate if the killer is about to hook someone, then open it after the hook and just leave.

The Bloodhunt multiplier is applied to the total BP earned in the match.

The offering is multiplied to the total BP earned in the match.

I actually don't understand why people still think they need to wait until a BP event to use them.

Myers one is difficult because people will DC for any reason.

The most difficult one for console players is the "She kills from the void" (think that's the name) where you need to blink 3 times and grab someone off a gen. That achievement was so difficult to get that any time I had a Nurse in a match (with 3 blinks) I would sent them a PSN message and ask if they wanted to get their achievement.

Hello community, I love dbd and have been playing for over 2 years now. I have been getting very stressed as playing killer recently, and I want to not take the game seriously, but how do I do it? I mostly get stressed at rank reset, because it feels like I'm obligated to get to rank 1 and my main killers can't pip that well. I feel like if I'm not rank 1, I can't be taken seriously or I'm just "bad". I usually get stuck from rank 4-5, and if I want to get to rank 1, I have to play a killer that can pip well like legion, even though I hate them. Another thing that stresses me out is toxicity. When I mean toxicity I mean people talking ######### to me in end-game chat, t bagging, and flashlight clicking. I'm pretty sensitive, so it actually stresses me out quite a bit. How do you guys not take this game seriously? I want to have as much fun as possible, but it's hard when rank is there.

People have suggested some good ideas on how to play a less stressful game.

My biggest advice is to stop playing for pips. The moment you stop caring about your rank and pips (honestly wish it didn't force you to have to play ranked only) is the day you start having fun.

I typically make builds or enter a match with a specific goal in mind. Maybe I want to get jumpscares on people, maybe I want to try and get an odd synergy to work with some perks. I'm bad at huntress, maybe I'll play a few matches where I only go for hatchet throws to practice.

In all those cases I don't care if I get 4 kills or pip because I set my own goal and just ignore what makes this game so stressful.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Its not useless its actually quite strong. Way too strong for non-hex unless you nerfed the numbers dramatically

I wouldn't say the perk is strong but if it wasn't a hex its SYNERGY would be too strong.

Ruin on its own isn't really an issue in most matches and can generally be ignored.

Ruin synergizing with other perks (surveillance being the most common) would be incredibly strong if it couldn't be removed.

And that should be the task for the devs to find a way to give killer not the feeling they need to get always 4k! It’s unrealistic for a killer to get always 4k cause this would mean that survivor have zero chance to escape and it would be frustrating for survivors. But as long killer thinking they need 4k it’s for them very frustrating and they asks for survivor nerfs, play in a tryhard way and they feels always as a looser... that’s not fair and makes the game unfun.

Survivor doesn't pip yet they escape

    ESCAPED

Killer only gets 2 kills, doesn't pip

    ENTITY DISPLEASED

Its great if the Devs claim they want the game to be balanced around 2k 2 escape but the game needs to...you know....actually be balanced around 2k 2 escape.

What in world are the Devs thinking giving a Killer the ability to instantly KILL a healthy survivor. This wasn't even like the Myers was slugging or even trying to hit people. He just got close enough to start the Kill animation and Killed full health players immediately.

Why is this in the game? What kind of Mori bs is this? Wew mfw I just got insta killed at full health, no hooks, while mid sprint.

Takes almost a full 60s of stalking to gain EW 3 with this add-on and the survivor can just hop into a locker to negate your ability to kill them. You can literally waste the killers time stalking (and limited amount of stalk too) then hop in a locker and waste both his time and stalk duration.

This is one of his worst add-ons and only works on new or inexperienced players.

You could play like a complete idiot and get to red rank. Im tired of team mates with self care in the corner of the map during a no ed. I'm tired of noobs getting to red rank so they think they're good but suck. I miss vet players. On the killer and survivor side. Killers that actually gave you a challenge and didnt DC after one loop and survivors who used common sense. I think what would get old vet players back is if we added a competitive mode. Based on devotion rank and certain challenges. Itd be ranked differently vs how its ranked now. Also its harder to level up and if you do an unsafe hook or something negative you lose waaaay more points towards it. This mode would be for vets and god tier players only. Like an actual rank matchmaking. This game has lost so much competitiveness and is now a "vibe" i miss old try hard competitive DBD with old try hard vets.

Vets in any game will eventually fizzle out. More so if the game is still standing on a rocky foundation after 4 years.

Just found this interesting clip and it just showcases how terrible Solo Q experience is. Im a solo Q main and I wish Devs would put some effort and love for the Solo Q players to make it more fun and balanced.

    https://clips.twitch.tv/VenomousKathishScallionFreakinStinkin

I really don't understand all the solo hate. Because the hatch mechanic is a thing my solo survival rate is stupidly high (I play only solo as survivor).

    So either;

    1. I'm a damn God at DBD because I do not find solo a difficult/unpleasant experience.
    2. People really don't like the slightest challenge.
    3. I live in a bubble and have magically been getting good games for 4 years.

I know your team can determine if everyone gets out or not but the point of the match is to escape, not save everyone. Your team can provide assistance but at the end of the day its not your goal to save them all. Even if your team all stood afk and were systematically put on a hook you still get the hatch to spawn and can walk out of the trial.

You just need to change how you play as a solo player and stop being so altruistic if your team is bad. Playing with good players allows you to help the team succeed, playing with poor/less experienced teams means you need to play more selfish so as to not drag yourself down, or if you choose to try and help them don't expect them to know all the "correct" plays.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

I think the biggest problem in dead by daylight is that a lot of killer don’t understand or can’t accept that the game is/ will be balanced around 50/50, that means that a killer played well if he gets 2 or more kills. But why so many killer expect to get 4k every match? A lot of them think „it don’t feels like a win if a survivor escape“. I can understand those killer cause it’s the goal of killer to kill survivors and if they don’t kill all four survivors think they miss their goal. So it’s a psychological problem of the game: it’s hard to understand that 3k are still a „win“. But those killer who can’t accept this 50/50 are the players who are crying for all the survivor perk nerfs and say the game is unbalanced or survivor sided. These are the player with a tryhard playstyles (tunneling, camping, insta mori, slug for 4k) what makes the game really unfun. You have to take a look on the other side, the survivor: if a killer could easy 4k every single game there are four players who couldn’t „win“, escape. It’s needed that every killer have different results: 0-1k, 2k or 3-4k, so the survivor gave the chance of 50/50 too. Sometimes you have some „bad games“ in a row, but in total you will get your 50/50, and that’s needed on both sides.

It’s a bit sad that the devs don’t show us the actual stats but here you can see the last one from november 2019:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZXJWYCSPGSIV/105f3345-bf87-4f87-bfc4-86fcad0798c5.jpeg

You can see that the killrates were over 50% (2 kills) so it’s nearly balanced for both sides or more killersided (70%). When I play killer I’m still fine with 2k and around 25.000 bloodpoints, that’s mostly a „gg“ for both sides. So please stop crying and try to find a way to count 3k as your personal win and know that 2k are still fine. Play the game in a fair way and accept that you don’t need 4k every game and have fun. Nobody can „win“ always ;)

The only real issue is the actual matchmaking which makes it very difficult and unfair for lower rank killer who faces highrank survivors, but I hope the new matchmaking will coming soon and makes the matches for these player more fun.

I‘m very interested in what you are think about that, so feel free to leave a comment.

Man I wish BHVR never released this data.

Despite them saying time and time again to take this information with "a grain of salt" people still spread it around like some sort of undeniable fact.

I mean BHVR literally doesn't want to give out any more data due to this exact reason...

Do you play solo in red ranks? Cuz I do and there isn’t much info at all. If you get a killer who does camp or tunnel etc most likely the rest will let it happen and you barely get to play for such a long que time. That and matchmaking is very bad I play red ranks solo and get yellow to grey ranks constantly which adds to why I’m not rescued or why I am killed off quickly if caught.

I have been playing since day 1 release. Yes I have played consistently in red ranks on both sides.

I do not feel solo queue (what I play the most) is some "impossible" challenge. I prefer solo and do not enjoy the changes that have been made to bring it up to par with SWF. I'd personally prefer them to stop making things so spoon fed to solo players.

You may disagree if you like as that is you opinion and you may have your own. I have said countless times this is my personal take on the matter.

while swf does suck nerfing it isn’t the answer what needs to first happen is buffing solo and then killer

I personally hate how easy solo has become, with all the information that is freely given.

I personally would rather see SWF brought down a peg rather than solo made even easier. DBD is a "horror" game yet somehow they are removing all traces (outside artwork) that creates horror/helplessness.

  • @RizeAki said:

That would be probably a swf with toolboxes and bnp but you can’t nerf gen speed anymore as it would ruin solo que and just give you more of these kind of swf which I don’t think anyone wants

This is why SWF needs to be looked at because any "balance" change that is made to the game is almost always exploitable by SWF groups. Even the more casual SWF groups are pushed beyond the players solo capabilities.

He seems really freaking strong without the bottle slowdown.

Besides Oni with his power I dont think theres a stronger 1v1 killer in the game.

Deathslinger and huntress suffer from 110% at loops.

    Spirit has to guess

    Billy is loopable

Hag and trapper are setup dependant

Freddy has snares which are smaller bottles

Myers GF legion wraith are M1 killers at loops

    Bubba isnt strong at loops

Plague needs to have her power to be strong at loops

Demo is nice but not that good at loops

PH may be equally strong but not that easy to accomplish at loops

    Pig has to guess

Doc takes some laps until the loop gets shut down

Okay Nurse may be stronger but shes special^^

So all in all clowns bottles are at least Top 3 to shut down loops and end chases fast am i right?

    Faster reload + extra bottles

some slowdown perks and brutal strengt.... POOF clown is good now?

What is going on? I like clown now, before the buff he was so dumb to play, never would have thought a small buff could have this kind of an impact on him

If Clown become strong/popular people will just start running "Calm Spirit" because if the Clown doesn't know if you hit the smoke or not then it becomes a mindgame of "did they dodge the smoke and go the long way?"

Its also possible to simply crouch in the smoke cloud (with Calm Spirit) and have them walk right past you easily.

So i was wondering what are other people's perk build they use to step away from the meta, do something unique, and ultimately have fun with the game. You can put at least one meta perk but no more. (Example like unbreakable and decisive strike is not allowed) this is supposed to Be fun so please be respect of each other. Also this could help me get some new perks to use in my games. Thank you

    Survivor META

    M - Mettle of Man

    E - Empathy

    T - Technician

    A - Adrenalin

    Killer META

    M - Monstrous shrine

    E - Enduring

    T - Tinkerer

    A - Agitation

    These are my META builds!

Is there anyway to make kyf have all things unlocked?? Gives a chance to try out the characters and see if its something you like. Before you buy it. Like i would love to try put pyramid head before i buy him.

Would not worked with licensed characters as the license holders (NOT BHVR) make that call on how their property is monetized in game (meaning free access is unlikely).

Just wanna know if people hear this story would they say that the toxicity was justified or unjustified against me

Was in a match earlier today against billy (I'm jake). I'm somewhat of a new player, just got the game about 2 weeks ago, a little less. Anyway, one survivors dead, the other 2 are taking a beating, he hangs one down in the basement and starts to camp. I manage to scrape by right behind him and crawl down, but he's not leaving, he runs away a bit and then back and runs away and repeats it about 3 times.

I decide that if he's going to wander away a little, his only indication that I'm down here is unhooking my friend, so I figure why not open the chest in the corner, maybe get a flashlight or medkit (anything useful) - he's not going to know I'm down here because I'll let her hang just a few seconds more (she's at about 60%), then with an item in hand, I unhook her, we book it, I heal her up/flashlight billy and BAM - we've escape the basement. In my mind, it was a smart, risky play.

So i approach the chest, I start to open it, I hear him coming, I hide, he comes down, looks around and finds me, slashes me and hangs me up.

This is where the game TOOK A TURN. The other survivor comes down, unhooks her friend, both of them AND the killer camp me, they unhook me, hit me, hang me, unhook me, drop me, let me crawl, heal me, hit me, carry me around, drop me, heal me, hit me, teabag, etc for about 16-25 minutes. It was so long that I had time to open cookies and drink half a bottle of soda. He lets them get all gens, they have a thing letting me crawl around to try to escape the door, then picking me up again (i'm having fun at this point just seeing how far they will go to troll).

Finally match is over and they all type in "poor jake lol" and laugh about it and then say, "next time unhook me instead of going for a chest"

Now, obviously the chest idea didn't work out, but considering the camping situation we were in and the idea I had, I can't quite say that I regret my idea. It didn't work, but every play in this game is a risk. And if it was a bad choice, I already found that out when he caught me - they could also tell me after the match "listen, next time its more efficient if you do this instead." Do you guys feel I deserved it for my choice? What would have been the best play?

Not even going to read this post and the reason is simple; Toxicity is NEVER justified.

I don't care if the other person held you hostage in a corner until you were forced to quit the game, if people are toxic to another it just repeats the cycle and we end up all hating each other.

Killers get a one hit down at hooks. All of them. If they didn't have that, I wonder if they'd play the hook stand off game anymore.

Can't recall the last time the game actually registered ANY of my grabs....I normally just end up standing there stuck in animation for a moment or two.

I feel like the more I've been here, the more I've realized just how close minded most people are. The most common pattern I've seen is this. Killers claim the game is survivor sided, survivors claim the game is balanced or killer sided, and the devs are throwing darts at a board. This doesn't apply to everyone of course, but it seems like the majority. Am I alone in this?

Yeah many people are narrow minded (and I myself have been down this road plenty) the bigger issue is that the majority of people will NOT change their mind, even if all the facts and evidence prove them wrong. This is something that I do my best to always consider. Even if I believe something is as I see/hear it I will always accept the possibility I may be wrong.

I highly doubt separating it from the default cosmetic is high priority.

I don't even think it's on their to-do list, @Peanits seemed to imply the chances of this happening is the same as, idk, an Earth-destroying comet crashing down tomorrow.

People who argue that survivors should not get the same BP as killers because of reasons are so problematic. It literally does not take anything away from killer. It only adds to survivor side of things.

I do not care if survivors get more BP, the less grind the game has the better. But to simply take a system that was set in place to "balance" the BP economy of both sides and "toss it out the window" so everyone makes the same does not help.

I paid Sally $5 to do a job and provided her with uniforms every day.

I pay you $10 to do a job but require that you buy your uniforms everyday. The reason I pay you more is so you can afford the uniforms.

Now I suddenly decide you know what, I'm going to pay Sally $10 a day too.

You still have to pay for your uniform unlike Sally but now you are both making the same amount. Do you think you would be ok with that? do you think that would seem fair?

I disagree about killer bloodpoints being add-on dependent. I rarely bring in add-ons during my killer matches because I don't want to have to constantly rely on them to get the job done. So long as I can hook survivors and get into good chases, then I easily walk away with close to 30,000 bloodpoints, double that if I have BBQ.

Simply because you do not use add-ons does not invalidate the facts. Killers have no way of getting add-ons aside from buying them from the Bloodweb.

Survivors DO have ways to get items and add-ons without the need to spend BP.

So I'll say it once again, regardless of whether or not YOU use them (I myself also use add-ons rarely) it does not invalidate the fact that killers cannot get add-ons via any other means.
