  • Billy, Hag, Doctor, Huntress, Freddy, Pig (controversial but she is quite literally the “Jack of all Trades.), Spirit, Demogorgon, and Oni are all in a decent spot.

All Trapper needs is to start with all his traps.

Wraith some fixing because when stunned or blinded while cloaked, he remains cloaked and has to uncloak himself. Also needs a slight movement speed buff while cloaked.

Nurse is still the best killer in my opinion. I still think the blink recharges were unnecessary.

Myers sometimes can’t stalk on dedicated servers.

Leatherface, Clown, and Legion need an entire rework.

Plague is decently strong and now that she is going to at least have one corrupt pool it’ll be a good buff since she can actually use her power. Another good buff would be status effects added to the survivor if they choose to stay injured for a lengthy period of time.

Ghostface is pretty balanced, but the reveal mechanic is pretty jank.

Deathslinger is too new and I haven’t played him so I can’t give an opinion but it seems that the range could be longer.

Only three killers need a lot of TLC.

Not gonna lie I think Blendette is the most OP character in the game. More so than Nurse. 4 of them on yamoaka or coldwind and it's GG.

It is especially terrible on console. On PC you can easily change your brightness settings but it’s a bit harder to do on console. You have to do it through your TV (if it has the settings to do so). Just too much of a hassle.

I don’t have too much if an issue on Colwind but Yamaoka has WAY too many dark spots on the map.

Aside from being the Kool-Aid man?

They'll probably be very similar. At best, the small killers (Legion, Plague, Hag, etc.) will have different animations from the big ones (Trapper, Huntress, Oni), like the vault animation.

Small killers could ram into it full force and breakthrough, Big killers could smash it with a leg or a few punches. Some might have unique animations based on who they are (Nurse and Huntress getting their animations OP mentioned would make sense).

Plague is a small killer? That girl is an amazon. She’s taller than Huntress.

  • Dead Hard for distance doesn’t have a counter but usually you can easily bait out a survivor using it.

Dead Hard is the least annoying exhaustion perk. It’s so prevalent in higher ranks that I’ve adapted to it.

Sprint Burst is FAR more annoying to deal with. A survivor can hit their run button and get to a safe structure with zero counterplay on the killers part.

You think there is a reason Freddy was the highest kill rate killer in the game before his slight nerf? And by that nerf I mean he can't just put on 2 add-ons and get huge generator pressure for free? Now it's only moderate generator pressure for free? It did nothing to stop him snare-lusting you at almost every tile in the game.

And if a SWF is bringing in 4 keys, they are a bad SWF, there's not much else to say about that. An optimal SWF build is 3 toolboxes and 1 key. Maybe a flashlight or two with object to distract/bully the killer.

The best SWFs I see don't even use items, because they don't need them.

Forever Freddy was boring as hell. I never like going against a Freddy. I still don’t think he needs a huge nerf though. Does he lose bloodlust after placing a snare?

A very good optimal SWF group is a rarity but the only killers that can reliably deal with a really good group are Nurse and Spirit. Maybe Billy, Hag, or Oni and if you’re REALLY good and you get a decent map then I’d add Huntress.

Survivors escaped via a key just makes you feel cheated. The same way a mori makes you feel cheated as a survivor. Darn. I guess I got outplayed because they brought in an ultra rare item/offering. Guess I should play better.

Four keys is redundant. The survivors only need 1 to get the full effect. Four keys screams solo Q, in which case I really don't care what they bring in, because solo Q's can get beaten by literally any killer build in the game.

Ghostface is just an M1 killer at the end of the day. There is nothing else that compares to what spirit can do, except nurse, and most nurses are garbage. Most spirits are garbage as well. Most survivors are garbage. Does that mean spirit is balanced in the hands of a very skilled player, because most people can't play her to her full potential?

I know they weren’t solo queue because two of them were green ranks and and two were red ranks and they all kept swapping between survivors in the lobby. They were obviously an SWF group.

Most players in general aren’t that good. Only a few are really skilled at the game.

So what if Ghostface is an M1 killer? He’s stealthy and gives no warning he is coming. I hate instadown killers and stealth killers. I’m still not asking for a nerf and for him to be put in Clown tier like you want Spirit (and for some reason Freddy) to be gutted and nerfed.

Can Spirit use more counterplay? Of course. I’m still not going to diss and call out people who play a killer I dislike though.

Keys aren't usable until the end of the round, and more times than not killers tunnel the person with the key. Mori's require a full chase, a hook, and another full chase in order to use. "No effort".

Just make them more rare so newer killers (in the case of mori's) can't get a hold of them as often. The seasoned killers who have hoards of mori's...they don't have all those mori's because they use them. They don't use them much, if at all.

A full chase and a hook isn’t that hard especially if you’re playing an insta-down killer like Billy or you’re Nurse/Spirit. Sometimes even as killer like Pig I get my first down in less than 30 seconds.

Then you tunnel the unhooked survivor and you have three survivors with four gens left. It’s never a pleasant experience to face a mori.

Then you can get outplayed by having two gens left and two survivors and they find the hatch. They literally skipped their objective because they brought in an item.

Honestly I think the hatch shouldn’t spawn until ALL gens are done or there is one survivor left so then at least the survivors did their objective.

Just my take on keys/moris. I can never defend either one of them.

I don't care that you play spirit. I'm just saying you are a nub if you main her, and have absolutely no reason to be complaining about keys.

You can't run from her, or you put out scratch marks and get outplayed by her following them. Or you walk, and get outplayed by her hearing exactly where you are.

"You really have to know how to put on iron will / quick and quiet and vault a pallet" Ok. There's a reason rank 1 SWFs literally DC half the time when I play spirit. Because there is nothing they can do.

She doesn't need mobility for map pressure for the same reason old nurse doesn't need map pressure, your map pressure is murdering everyone in under 30 seconds.

Yeah because four keys are less powerful than a Spirit with green/yellow add-ons?

I rarely get DC’s when playing Spirit. In my own experience. People actually play the game and don’t whine and complain. In all my time playing Spirit I think I’ve had maybe ONE person mad that I played Spirit.

I understand that you dislike going going against Spirit, I really do. She’s unfun to face which is why I’ve stopped playing her as frequently (and because sounds are screwed up) but not all Spirit’s are good ya know. I escape a majority of the time when I face Spirit.

I can main AND play whoever I want because I bought the killer. So if I want to main Spirit then that’s my choice and you’re gonna have to deal with it. I hate Ghostface but I’m not gonna diss every Ghostface main because I dislike him.

DBD is about as casual as it gets. It's basically a party game. The problem isn't the so-called OP stuff in the game. The problem is people like you, who take it too seriously and want it nerfed down to a boring snoozefest.

Stop trying to ruin DBD with your delicate sensibilities and inability to see a game as just a game. You've been told, repeatedly, by many in this forum that people with your attitude are the problem more or less. That should be an indicator. When most of the people disagree with you, it goes beyond being opinion, and even further from being fact. You're just wrong, and salty that you got mori'd, or had a survivor use a key.

I agree that DBD is a party game and extremely casual and it should not be taken too seriously, but sometimes you gotta know when something to too powerful.

Things like moris on first down, BNP’s instantly fixing generators, Prayer Beads, Omega Blink, Oni’s 180° flick, etc...are just a bit too strong and needed a change.

Keys and moris are a bit too strong and offer an early escape/kill for little effort.

No they shouldn’t be nerfed to a boring snoozefest but it’s not exactly a fun scenario for the opposing side in their current side. You just feel cheated.

People say she’s easy to play but I see so many low ranks struggle to pick up her up and play. You don’t see them struggle so hard with 115% killers.

Spirit isn’t just sound a lot of it is prediction. That’s why experienced survivors can juke a spirit quite a lot and if she misses her phase then she’s 110% until her power recharges.

She’s doesn’t require as much effort as Nurse or Huntress but I think a lot of the beef with Spirit is people just following what they read online.

If I play Spirit I see so many survivors that just crouch in front of the pallet. Like no ######### she’s going to get easy hits when you do that.

Low ranks struggle quite a bit with 110% killers because you have to know how to properly use your power. If you mess up then you are punished quite a bit. 115% killers are more forgiving.

As you said...people play stupidly against a Spirit. You can’t pallet camp while she’s standing still looking at you.

Any competent survivor can still lead her on a chase unless she’s REALLY good at prediction.

People can have beef with the way Spirit is played but to call somebody out and say they only play then for “easy downs” and because she’s an “easy killer” is just idiotic. Maybe I play Spirit because she’s my comfort zone and I like the way she’s play. Like damn. People can never be civil.

  • @KornySon10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1099092#Comment_1099092

Oh my god. Spirit has a vaulting animation now? What a nerf!

She can't get even more free downs by just walking into you anymore? What a nerf!

Does it stop her from teleporting straight onto your head with 0 counterplay because you can just hear exactly where they are with stridor? Uhh no, not really.

Everyone plays spirit because she is easy. It's the same with Freddy, I put them into the same categories. I used to put nurse there but she is so nerfed that only the pro's can use her extremely well anymore. That's where I hope spirit ends up eventually.

It was a QoL change so that people like you are whining and complaining anymore.

Spirit has little counterplay, yes. You really have to know how to go against her. If you pallet camp like a dummy then you’re going to eat her katana. If you run around like an idiot and give too many clues as to where you are then you’re eating a katana for dinner.

Spirit is strong and can end chases quickly but she simply doesn’t have enough map pressure AND chases ability to pressure gens and get downs quickly. She has to pick one or the other. Which is why you can still escape her. Gens will fly by if the team is coordinated.

I dunno what kind beef you have with me because I played Spirit but it’s a one-sided beef. I’m still gonna play whoever I want and I don’t need you telling me why I should and shouldn’t play a specific killer.

  • @KornySon10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1099072#Comment_1099072

Yeah, she's the most played killer at red ranks because she is bad. You just put on stridor and collect your free downs because she is a bad killer.

I hardly play spirit because I like there being some challenge in my killer games. I'm sorry you need to crutch on overpowered killers, then have to complain about powerful survivor items. I bet you think Freddy is balanced too?

And keys are fine for solo Q survivors. Killers have soooo many crutches (like spirit) to call upon that I can hardly get mad when some people sneak keys in and hatch out.

Spirit was literally just nerfed so that her OP add-ons are balanced. She has a vaulting animation AND has no collision.

And sounds are broken so half the time I don’t even HEAR survivors even though I have on Stridor. But Spirit is still “easy” right.

Spirit is nowhere near as overpowered as she was. Is she strong? Yes. Overpowered? No. No killer is overpowered.

I see more Ghostface and Billy in red ranks that I do Spirit.

You’re just making yourself out to be a ass by assuming that every Spirit player plays her because she’s “easy” to you.

And they weren’t solo queue by the way. They were all in a group together.

And I never brought up Freddy. So again...stop assuming.

  • @gatsby said:

The Key requires you to make it to endgame.

Which means you'll have to play more passively to avoid getting focused, since most games aren't 4 kills or 4 escapes.

If you avoided chases and didn't go for risky play, you probably did really bad in the altruism and evader categories... so yeah running a key usually punishes you

End game is where all the generators are done. When two survivors are left...they can use a key when two generators need to be fixed.

Yes keys punish you emblem wise just like moris but it doesn’t make it any less satisfying on the opposing side to lose just because of one item or offering.

Plus most people don’t care about their rank.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

@MegMain98 4 keys ouch. First time I’ve ever seen that.

Unless you stop them doing 3 gens they’re basically guaranteed an escape no matter what.

They kept swapping between survivors in the pre-lobby so I had no idea they had four keys. At the end I assumed at least one had a key due to the Kate waving over her last teammate and gen progression stopped.

I still killed half of the team and they only got out due to a key. So it’s whatever

I guess I can’t complain about four keys though since people think Spirit is overpowered and the easiest killer in the game. Darn. Should’ve played better.

  • @KornySon10 said:

Literally playing the most overpowered and easy killer in the game and complaining about keys lmfao.

How to play spirit, put on a pair of headphones.

And two of them still died? I bet you more would have gotten out if it was 4 toolboxes instead.

Awww baby...did you get your ass handed to you by too many Spirit’s? It must suck to be bad.

I play on console. Spirit is literally the only killer who can compete with 4 keys/4 toolboxes. I didn’t even notice the keys until the saw the score board. They kept swapping between survivors in the lobby so I had no idea.

I played normally and without any powerful add-ons. If I DID know they had four keys then I would’ve put on spicier add-ons and a mori. Keys are completely broken.

If you can defend 4 keys and say that because I playing Spirit I don’t have a right to complain then you are delusional. Wake up. Keys are completely stupid. Only way to kinda counter them is by putting the BS on the killer side. Which is a mori.

By the way....four (good) toolboxes are more powerful than keys if they split up gens.

  • image.jpeg

Nah my dude. What are you talking about? Keys are fair and balanced. It’s not like they reward misplays by survivors. The killer can TOTALLY counter keys.

    You’re just trippin.

  • Freddy’s teleport just isn’t realistic for all killers. Doesn’t fit them at all. Why would Clown teleport to a generator. It makes sense with Freddy but not all killers.

Maybe Ghostface can teleport through lockers on the map or Myers can morph to wherever he wants since he seems to show up out of nowhere in the movies.

  • Nurse. It takes a lot of practice to be good with her especially on console.

  • I’d rather have something beastly like a werewolf. Something that is non-human.

You started this off strong, then lost me. If a real life issue is your concern, take the DC - a 5 minute penalty is nothing when you're gone to an emergency.

    Server is an issue.

That's still not a reason you should suicide. Hatch Camping is frowned upon by the majority of the community that plays solo, and a legitimate strategy apparently.

Yes it would be very difficult to balance between when you actually do fail to escape, or struggle on hook and when you're actually just suiciding on hook.

Then it's even more important for you to remain on hook. If the survivors are only doing gens unabatted, then that usually means the Killer is camping and the best move against camping is rushing gens and collecting all other points, then attemping saves before you leave (Depending on the circumstances).

Not wanting to play against the Killer, Map, or simply because the game didn't favor you in the beggining is not a legitimate reason to leave any online multiplayer game where a team depends on you.

I was just listing reasons why people suicide on hook. Not claiming that all of them are good reasons, but the game cannot distinguish one reason from another.

Well damn if I’m on first hook and the Blendette is on the way other side of the map camping hatch not coming for me what am I supposed to do? Sit there for a minute while she doesn’t move? No. I’m wasting time. I’m gonna try to pull myself off the hook and if I fail then oh well. I wasn’t getting off anyways.

I legit had a dude do a gen on the pier above me like five feet from me and let me die while the killer was nowhere in sight. Do you think I was gonna struggle and keep playing with him?

If you don’t like the killer or map it isn’t a legit reason to leave. People will still do it. You can only go against one killer but so many times before you’re bored out of your mind. I had to stop playing survivor because I was so damn bored getting Doctor 80 times in a row.

It’s more-so killers that DC because of maps though (Haddonfield, Ormond, Yamaoka).

  • @Heartbound said:

I have this weird feeling they're going to revolve around empowering the killer when players are either hit or in injured state.

Plague is already vomiting in anticipation.

    image.jpeg

    AUGHHHHHHHH

  • There are too many variables to punish suiciding on the hook.

What if the player is new and genuinely doesn’t know. They see “attempt escape” and they try to pull themselves off the hook because they don’t know they only have a 4% chance of doing so.

Real life situations happens and people have to go.

The server lags and you die because of lag.

The last person is hatch camping and not coming for the save.

Your finger slips while mashing spacebar.

Sometimes the teams are ONLY doing gens and nobody is going for the save or it is a team of bush hiding Blendettes who crouch with the killer nowhere in sight.

And maybe somebody just has had too many Doctor games and they’re bored as hell and wanna move onto the next match.

The game can’t distinguish these differences. There is way too many variables.

    They’ll probably de-pip anyways.

  • I consistently switch between Spirit, Plague, Myers, Pig, Oni, and Ghostface. I would play Hag and Demogorgon but they destroy my FPS on console so I try to avoid them.

I don’t really have a “main” killer but back when Spirit was released I basically only played her. Same with Plague. So I guess those two would be my “main killers”.

Yea I dodge specific players and for good reasons. I am NOT going to play with these people EVER and you can't force me to.

Lobby dodging is fine. Whenever the devs get around to updating the matchmaking it won't even be an issue, because you dodge only to have another killer come fill the slot right away.

Same. I’ve had bad experiences with some players and the way they play. They’ve just made my games terrible with the way they’ve played. Those rounds are few a far between though.

I CAN play sweaty and bring in a mori and powerful add-ons and make their game miserable but I’d rather just dodge and find another group.

I only have about 5-10 players that I’ll dodge.

Billy is way cheaper than Spirit. He just swings instadown after instadown after instadown until he lands a hit since theres minimal cooldown. Then zooms across the entire map in 5 seconds to do it to someone else.

Spirit has nowhere near that kind of lower. You just need to be able to predict the Spirits next move which comes with experience. It eventually becomes easy to loop spirits for multiple gens.

Spirit gives you no information. Half the chase is just her standing still. How can Billy feel cheaper than Spirit when you have absolutely no feedback on the Spirit’s movement? You can clearly see what Billy is doing and how to plan your next move.

You’re not predicting anything the Spirit is doing, she’s predicting you and you’re at the mercy of whether she can hear you or not and whether she is a good killer. She can’t be looped for multiple generators if she’s good at tracking.

I know you don’t like going against Billy. Neither do I. I hate getting instadowned. It can feel a bit cheap but that’s just the way he is. There’s just no way that Billy feels cheaper than Spirit...and I am a Spirit main.

  • Plague. If you don’t cleanse then you stay injured and make a bunch of noise. If you cleanse then she gets a bazooka. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

    Pig is also highly underrated.

Well...the cornrow Meg is actually the lowest of the low but bob Meg is down there XD

  • Survivor. What person can keep their sanity and play killer for 24 hours straight? I would get bored playing killer.

I can at least invite friends to play with so I don’t get bored out of my mind.

I would love the BP playing killer but you have much more downtime as survivor. When playing killer you have to always been on your A game.

  • If we are talking the more popular holidays (so not holidays like Labor Day or Columbus Day) I absolutely hate Valentine’s Day. I love the decor and colors but I hate the romance around it. I’ve never been a romantic type person. I just go out with friends and go eat somewhere.

I used to like Easter when I was younger but now I typically work on Easter so it’s not my cup of tea.

  • At my absolute best it would be killer.

I don’t mean to brag but I’m pretty decently competent at both survivor and killer (I definitely have my potato rounds though). It’s just that the killer I’ve put the most hours into is Spirit, so I guess she’d be my “main killer”. At my very best when I am relaxed, very few survivors are beating my Spirit especially on a small map like Coal Tower.

    Sorry MegHead. You’re dying.

  • No but DS isn’t really an “anti-tunneling” perk. It’s more of an “I’m invincible for 60 seconds” perk. Pair it with Unbreakable/Head On/Inner Strength and you are quite literally invulnerable and survivors should never feel like they have a free getaway.

If I believe a survivor had DS I’ll leave them on the ground and somebody had to come pick them up. If I’m chasing another survivor that will draw one of them to save the slug and that leaves only one person to work on generators.

Sometimes I’ll just eat the DS, but I usually try to go after to savior not the recently unhooked survivor.

Even tho I’m mad at No0b3, I can’t blame him. The game is a mess right now and with how fast matches are and lack of red rank killers, it’s not like he could make any interesting videos.

I just miss hearing his voice. He has a nice voice that would be suited for a television show or the radio.

Him and Umbra have very calming and soothing voices that are very nice to listen to. I can just listen to them talk about randoms things all day.

He is a survivor main and queue times are absolutely terrible for red rank survivors. Definitely can’t blame him, he’s probably burnt out on DBD.

Even Jendenise took quite a long break from streaming all together because she was burnt out, but I think she has over 8000 hours on DBD.

  • You’re not wrong. It’s because the map is all extremely safe pallets which leads to pallet kicking simulator.

Then when all the pallets are gone, the survivors have nothing. There is maybe two or three vaults on the entire map.

  • Are you playing Billy who can zoom across the map in 10 seconds or Huntress who takes 8 years to cross the map?

Some killers relied on it more than others just to make up for map pressure that they physically don’t have.

I don’t think any killer NEEDED Ruin but there is a big gap between high mobility killers (Spirit, Nurse, Billy) who can zoom across the map and protect gens and killers with low mobility (Clown, Huntress, Myers) who just can’t protect gens as easily. So, when the gens start popping super quickly they have no choice but to play a bit scummy. If they play nice then they lose.

  • The only streamers I watch regularly are Scott Jund, Umbra, and Zubat.

I like No0b3 as well but he hasn’t streamed in a hot second

That's really neat so you have only two killers left until you are done and yea I also have the same problem think it's the completionist in me, but I can't stop doing the prestige on all my killers all the way, it's definitely a waste of blood points. Though it makes me feel good after I finish them, I only have pig and clown left, but I think I should start saving up for the next killer.

I’m also a completionist and I’ve prestiged killers/survivors that I rarely even play. I have Nurse and Huntress at P3 but I absolutely suck with them and don’t use them often.

I am getting close to prestiging all the killers I really want to though. I’ll eventually prestige them all but for the time being I really can’t see myself prestiging killers like Legion and Trapper when I never play them. I’d rather get more add-ons on killers I like :/

  • The last four killers...Plague, Ghostface, Demo, and Oni are all fairly strong killers in my opinion.

None of them are Nurse/Spirit strong but they aren’t releasing weak killers.

I have a bunch of Sayas and Prayer Beads on my Spirit and over 50 Ebony Moris on Hag. I could be a total bully if I wanted to.

  • I really don’t have a “main” for either survivor or killer, especially survivor because I play whoever I feel like playing but for the ones I have played the most it would be...

    Survivor: Meg

    Killer: Spirit

Yes. You heard it. The two most hated characters on both sides. MegHead and Walugi. Come at me.

I think any Terror Radius altering perks isn't a good fit for the Spirit in-general because of how her power works and how the "wooshing" radius and Terror Radius intertwine with each other.

Basically, it's better to use that slot for something like Stridor or STBFL to benefit from The Spirits power, rather than adding something that isn't necessary, at least in my opinion.

That’s basically what I was trying to stress about. Her whooshing is already finicky as it is. Sometimes you’ll hear it even if you are in her terror radius. Altering her terror radius just isn’t a necessity.

I run a pretty standard basic build on Spirit. I use PGTW, Nurse’s Calling, BBQ, and Stridor. Simple? Yes. Basic? Absolutely. But it’s probably the best build to use on her.

  • Neither. M&A is absolutely terrible on Spirit. She’s not meant for sneaking up on survivors. Usually you’ll use your power for downing survivors, not making a beeline for them. M&A just makes it so they’ll be able to hear you whooshing from an even closer distance. No point in using M&A.

Distressing isn’t great either. I would only use it on Doctor. There are much better perks for Spirit.

Overall I’d say Distressing is better but I still wouldn’t use it.

  • Strongest is Nurse

    Weakest is Legion

I don’t see how people think Legion is strong in the slightest. They are so weak

But the rest of the addons are too situational or not good. Cooldown and Apple's are the only best addons next to ultra rares. Efficency is not needed, ppl who try to make every survivor one by one broken with vomit are dumb. Just hit them once and leave the survivor and keep spreading your infection on others. Object infection time is just okey but not that important. Duration of corrupt purge is too situational (if survivors cleanse). Same to warship tablet and the toe is completly useless.

Cooldown add-ons are underrated and the apples are overrated. I really don’t care if I get to use Corrupt Purge or not. If they stay injured I have permanent NOED and can spot them from a mile away.

The effectiveness add-ons are really good I dunno what you’re talking about. It breaks a survivor in no time at all and can end a chase super quickly. If you are close to a survivor you can easily break them. Sure you typically want to puke and find another survivor but if you have the chance to completely break a survivor than why not?

A majority of her add-ons are decent to be honest. I can’t think of a single killer that doesn’t have at least one bad add-on.
