  • I like it a lot. I dunno why. I just do. There have been FAR uglier cosmetics released.

  • Laurie easily. Bill and Ash would as well.

If we are talking non-licensed characters I gotta go with Jake or Kate.

I think Wraith is actually good if you can juggle survivors and sneak up on them. I use bone clapper + windstorm and the build I prefer is ruin + surveillance + nurse's + sloppy or stbfl (I think I prefer stbfl over sloppy).

Since the update I've mained Wraith and got to rank 1 again surprisingly.

Wraith is a pretty solid killer with Swift Hunt + Windstorm. Bone Clapper is a pretty decent replacement for Swift Hunt but Wraith absolutely needs Windstorm or he is terrible. If I had a solid build on Wraith I’d definitely play him more often but I only have him at Level 40 with terrible tier 1 perks. Gotta level him up.

Ruin + Surveillance I can see use on killers like Billy, Nurse, or Spirit since they can pressure survivors off of generators and end chases very quickly. I’d see more use out of PGTW on Wraith, but if that combo works for you then you keep doing it. Hasn’t failed you yet.

  • Ruin allowed low map pressure killers to get the ball rolling and get momentum going. Didn’t matter if it lasted only a minute or two, it did enough.

I feel as though I have to play Spirit against good survivors. I just don’t stand a chance as Clown or Wraith. I end chases as quick as I can but it’s just not enough against optimal survivors.

The Ruin change would be much better if some maps were shrinked in size. They are just too massive.

Lmao this had me dying. He has extremely effective loop denial and the best tracking in the game. Definitely just a better clown lmao.

He can shut down short loops, but if we’re talking about those car loops on Autohaven or basically any loop on Coldwind he can’t do much. Even some of the loops on Lery’s he can’t deny.

He’s just like most other killers that aren’t Nurse or Spirit.

I can’t deny that he is super fun to play as and he’s way better than before but I can’t place him anywhere above B tier. He’s like right around Myers in terms of strength.

  • He has no map pressure like Billy or Hag.

Has no snowball potential like Myers or Oni.

Has no way to ignore loops like Nurse or Spirit.

He is way better than he was but in no world is he anywhere near the top.

Doctor is mid to low B tier.

  • It’s just so much so I’m gonna name my favorite scene from every movie with a licensed character.

Myers- The ending of the first Halloween. The entire chase scene with Laurie was amazing.

Leatherface- Easily the ending with Sally, the trucker, and Leatherface.

Freddy- I don’t care for the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, but I guess the ending when Freddy dragged the dummy Nancy through the window.

Pig- Amanda’s death in Saw 3.

Ghostface- The opening scene of the first Scream movie. Tatum’s death is a close second.

Demogorgon- The fight with Steve, Nancy, and Johnathan. I gotta say that Barb’s death is a close second.

But she "still requires basic game sense" though... Now, try to take a second to think how that statement is the very reason there's no hyperbole in saying the Spirit is gG EzpZ.

BONUS: basic game sense for Spirit (hyperbole-free):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/367/UC6PDDUJT0Q9.jpg

Good headphones mean nothing when sounds don’t properly work.

I agree Spirit isn’t hard to use, but she’s not as easy as players make her out to be. She isn’t braindead, a mediocre Spirit won’t beat a good team. She has a higher skill cap than most killers do.

  • Freddy has a very low skill cap, but he’s just boring to face. Anything that slows down survivor movement is pretty boring to face, like Clown.

I agree with your statement of more killers like Nurse, Huntress, and Spirit. I’d add Oni to the list. He’s very fun to face in my opinion. Strong, but beatable. His power is also really strong but you don’t feel bored to death when you die.

  • If I HAD to pick one. At this point I’d be a killer main. I would much rather play survivor but I’d rather not sit in 10 minute queues.

Killer has too many benefits. Quick queue times. More bloodpoints.

At heart I’m a survivor main. I like being chased and avoiding death, but I play more killer because due to queue times.

  • Business as usual. Nothing to see here.

  • Played two games as survivor and one as killer.

My first game as survivor was terrible, teammates let me die on hook and the Huntress ate them for breakfast.

My second game as survivor was Blood Lodge against a Ghostface so he was probably unhappy about that. He only killed one survivor

Neither killer ran NOED. GF had Ruin and Huntress had Corrupt Intervention. Huntress was Rank 2 and GF was Rank 10.

My one game as killer was me testing the Spirit changes. Two survivors with flashlights DC’ed after their second down and only one generator got done. They were all solo survivors.

Spirit feels a lot better to play now that she has a lunge again but sounds are still bugged.

I don’t have an issue with Ruin changes personally. It gives me more freedom in my builds and thinking of fresh perk ideas. I just believe map changes should be the #1 priority now.

  • I just camp the hook. Two people not doing generators. Two people out of the match. The other two are bound to come at some point as well.

When playing Plague you can puke through the hooked survivor and break the survivor abusing the exploit so now they are a one shot when they decide they want to move.

  • I’m never scared but I get anxious and my heart pounds sometimes during a chase. I’m honestly more anxious when playing killer.

I jump A LOT when I trip one of the Hag’s traps or I’m unexpectedly hit by a pallet.

I don’t experience fear but more-so anxiety and adrenaline rushes with a slight bit of bitterness and distain towards my idiotic teammates.

  • They fixed Oni’s flick, Spirit and Wraith’s lunging bugs, and reworked Doctor and his map. I wouldn’t say they have a double standard.

Sound bugs (while frustrating) are not as easy to fix. I have no idea how they break every other patch. I totally agree it is frustrating as hell, I have voiced my annoyance of it multiple times. It’s just not that easy to fix though.

DS is a perk. A pretty easy and simple fix. Just like if a killer perk like BBQ wasn’t properly working, it would be an easy fix.

  • Survivors would be no different. A console survivor and a PC survivor are basically played the same.

Killer is a different story though. PC killers obviously have the upper hand due to controller limitations.

and you misunderstood the fact i am saying you are wrong in assuming that there are no spirits because of the nerf to addons, im saying its because of the audio bugs, just like many others are and in your post you had that snide attitude in they way you wrote your post.

Yeah I had a “snide attitude” because you’re able to tell somebody’s attitude through text. Real smart.

I only became snide because you wanted to get wild and call me out. I never stated people didn’t play Spirit solely because of her add-ons nor did I say “People stopped playing Spirit because of her add-on changes”. I said “her add-ons are the least of any good Spirit’s concern.” Because if you’re actually good with the Spirit you don’t need her best add-ons to do well. I don’t see how that is a snide attitude, it’s just a fact. If somebody relied on Saya, Amulet, and Prayer Beads to carry them through the match then they probably weren’t that great with Spirit to begin with.

Other things contribute moreso to why Spirit isn’t played like sound bugs and her (now fixed) non-existent post phase lunge. If players stopped playing Spirit because of her add-on changes then that’s because they relied on broken powerful add-ons. Simple as that. I’m doubtful many players stopped playing her for that reason though.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Not sure, to be honest. She's far and away the best killer in the game in my opinion. I picked her back up in the last two days after barely playing her for 5 months (previous main). She's still beyond dominant. But I have an extremely good headset that allows me to hear survivors breath uninjured behind a tree. She has very little counterplay if the Spirit player is top tier with top tier headphones. I end chases just as quick against Iron Will as I do without. Maybe people were overly reliant on her collision or add ons. Who knows

It’s something Spirit has that other killers don’t...lack of reliable counterplay. It’s a guessing game. She’s frustrating to go against because you lost a guessing game. Oops, you guessed wrong. Now you’re dead.

I still play her effectively but I avoid her more than I used to because sounds are bugged. I hate not hearing sounds. I also run Stridor so one chase the survivors sounds as they should with Stridor. The next chase they sound slightly quieter as if they have Iron Will 1 or 2. Then the next chase they have zero sounds and no footsteps. The different volumes of sounds messes with my tracking. It’s just not worth the hassle when she could be so much better without the bugs.

She can be beaten still because she either has to use her power for map pressure or chase potential. As long as the the survivors split on generators and stay separated, she can still be beaten. Especially on a huge map.

I still believe Nurse is better though. After her rework I still see streamers like Umbra and Zubat 4K with five gens left and she still ignores all survivor defenses.

yeah love how people wanna put that toxic ######### tone to their posts they needed addons to do good um no when the audio makesa downed survivor sound right next to you when 20m out yeah its not fun to play any killer with the sound issues.

Guess you assume I’m talking down to people who used the old Saya and Amulet or Prayer Beads and thought they were good at Spirit. Wake up call, it didn’t make anyone good at the killer.

It’s the same people who ran Omega Blink Nurse and Instant Saw Billy every round and thought they were legends with the killer then when they ran brown and yellow add-ons they got stomped.

You can run whatever you want. That’s fine. Just don’t claim you’re good at the killer when running their best add-ons.

By the way...the add-ons were nerfed during the same patch that sound became bugged.

Yeah it’s frustrating to have sounds break. It is stupid how they break every patch. That’s why I have avoided Spirit.

“I hope you guys be ready for the tunneling, camping, slugging, moris and iri addons.”

    So business as usual then.

I just got a camping, teabagging Ghostface with a mori my last round.

Having no Ruin means so little. It’ll be business as usual as you stated. Killers and survivors are going to play the same way.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

There does need to be more sone early game. I played it yesterday and got yamoaka. I started in one corner of the map, the survivors all spawned on the opposite side. Given how long it takes to cross the map they got so much genwork done for free. I didn’t have corrupt intervention unlocked so couldn’t use that.

This all goes back to the maps being too big. The game shouldn’t be spawning killers and survivors on opposite corners of the map.

Spawning on opposite sides of the map isn’t the problem. Map size is the main issue. Spawning on the opposite side of a map like Coal Tower won’t be much of a walk for the killer, you can easily defend generators.

However if you get a map the size of Saturn like Red Forest then it becomes an issue.

Spirit has some of the best add-ons. Literally any combination of her green add-ons are amazing. You don't need any purple or pink add-ons except for specific builds (with the exception of Saya which is probably her absolute best add-on right now).

I usually stick with brown, yellow, and green add-ons. Sometimes I use no add-ons.

Saya and the Katana Tsuba are very powerful. I call it “Fruit Ninja Spirit”. I love the Saya...ya know if she had a lunge :(

I never use pink add-ons. They’re not great IMO.

The Amulet is still powerful. Pair it with green duration and you can phase for an extremely long time

So a hillbilly, tier 3 myers, bubba need to be nerfed too because they are lethal in melee range without addons?

A.) Myers has to work for his Tier 3 and it doesn’t last the entire match without the use of an add-on and it takes forever to get to Tier 3 with the Tuft of Hair.

B.) Bubba is terrible and in no way compares to Iridescent Head.

C.) Billy can’t do much about pallet looping. You actually have to know how to curve around pallets, ya know...things that require mindgames and skill. A good Billy earns their downs.

A good Huntress will not miss her shot in a melee range. It doesn’t even feel good to use as Huntress. All you do is destroy the team. 80% of the Huntresses that use Iridescent Head pair it with a mori and kill the team in 4 minutes. I don’t see how you think it is a balanced add-on. It’s overkill.

If Iridescent Head applied instadowns farther than a certain distance (she would be able to keep all five hatchets) or trumped all other add-ons than sure it would be balanced.

  • Best male sweater is Ace

    Best female sweater is Nea

Worst male sweater is probably Adam

Worst female sweater is a hard choice because I like all of them but I’d go with Jane.

I own a majority of the sweaters either way.

  • @T2K said:

You are not interested in a discussion about iri heads and just say they are "broken" what they are not. People DC-ing is your argument for a nerf... alright.

I hope they never change iri heads. If players would at least try to learn playing against this instead of just DC-ing it would make playing survivors more skilled and less "nerf everything I dont like or I DC".

You can’t play against Iridescent Head when the Huntress is revving your back and hitting one shot hatchets at melee range. I only see bad Huntresses use it. Players who are good at Huntress don’t need it.

You claim that playing against Iridescent Head would make survivors more skillful but it requires zero skill from the Huntress. It’s just a super cheap one shot.

Iridescent Head either needs to only apply instadown from further than a certain distance (24 meters) to promote long range shots from Huntress which is actually the fun skillful part of playing Huntress, not back revving and instadowning at melee range. Or it needs to not stack with other add-ons so Huntress only has one hatchet.

Shadowborn on Huntress is very strong. She throws projectiles and it gives you a higher FOV.

Also - Umbra also uses a crosshair. I'm not saying it makes her bad, but it does muddy her credibility a bit as a supposed "god tier" Huntress.

The ones out there that don't use a crosshair and do that well, and yes they do exist, those are the ones who deserve most of the applause.

Umbra doesn’t use a crosshair. She’s stated on multiple occasions that she doesn’t use one.

  • @TheBilldozer said:

There is such a small percentage of players that have even crossed the threshold of R5, let alone the Red Ranks.

I'm convinced the player base has such a high skill divide on both killer and survivor, Tier lists are pretty much irrelevant outside of those groups that routinely participate in competitive tournaments.

    Change my mind?

There is DBD tournaments? That sounds sweaty

  • I can bring Black Incense and an ebony mori and run the “Forever Plague” build and dominate but it doesn’t mean Plague is S+ tier.

Running a killers strongest add-ons with an ebony mori doesn’t make the killer top tier.

Huntress is really good but I believe she is top of B tier. Just shy of top tier.

  • She heavily relies on sound which is bugged and broken. I run Stridor on Spirit and sometimes survivors randomly gain Iron Will and I hear nothing. No injured moans. No footsteps. Nothing.

She also has no post phase lunge (which I believe is getting reverted back to normal next patch). She’s still a very good killer, easily top tier. She’s just not as viable as she can be with sounds being broken and her power not working properly.

Her add-ons are the least of any good Spirit’s concern. If you relied on double purple add-ons every match then you weren’t good at Spirit. The Amulet now still is pretty strong. That duration is SUPER long.

  • I have never wrote “GGEZ” unless I’m either being extremely sarcastic (like when I know the people I go against and they’re friends and I’m messing around) or when I get a bunch of salt from either the survivor or killer I went against. Even then I can count the times I’ve said it on one hand.

I’m more likely to write something sarcastic. I played against a Huntress who stood in front of the hook and camped the hell out of me and she also had NOED. I told her “GG <3”. I never got a response XD

Imagine complaining about a M1 killer. A killer who can do ######### againt the multitude of unmindgame loops littered across the maps. If you get caught outpositioned against a Billy, its your own fault, because you hear his chainsaw. Everything, including instantsaws is fine in my opinion. Billy should not be touched at all.

How can anyone defend Instant chainsaw add-ons?

  • @MysterTal said:

If Billy is broken you don't need to be good with him, you just need to press and hold M2.

This is what you young fellas don't seem to understand, something an old gamer can tell you (if you could just help me into this chair, young man, and make me a nice warm cup of tea...): if something is OP, it's OP because it doesn't matter who plays it - it's just OP. There's nothing that the other side can do and it isn't dependent on skill level.

It's broken because it's broken at the core. It doesn't matter if you put it in the hands of an actual Adeptus Astartes with 8 trillion hours in the game or if you have your youngest sibling try it out while still teaching them the Alphabet or how a cow goes.

I'm not asking you to prove something in the chest-beating-macho-sense - I'm asking to see empirical evidence.

Billy isn’t broken nor is he OP. You have to be somewhat good with Billy to do well against good survivors because he requires some mechanical skills because the chainsaw is not easy to manage.

Here is what I am saying...Billy has zero power recharge. He can rev his chainsaw and threaten a survivor at a pallet loop and he doesn’t have to wait for any length of time before revving his chainsaw again. Huntress can run out of hatchets. Nurse has to wait for her blinks to recharge. Spirit has to wait for her power to come back. Billy just has to rev his chainsaw after breaking the pallet.

I’m not trying to say Billy can always use his chainsaw to down survivors and get free hits. Just that he has no cooldown or recharge and can instantly use it again unlike other killers who have to wait for their power to come back.

I only think Billy is broken with Instasaw add-ons.

  • @Dr_doom_j2 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010659#Comment_1010659

If you aren't saying he's broken, why do you think he needs a cool down nerf? Not every killer had to be the same or have the same limitations. It's like you said, you have to be good with him in order to do well, sounds like balance to me

Again...you’re making assumptions. Point out when I said “Billy needs a cooldown nerf.” I never said that. You’re putting words in my words.

I stated that Billy and Leatherface were the only killers who do NOT have a power cooldown or have to recharge their power which is a fact. The word “nerf” never came from me.

Yeah...not every killer needs the same limitations but that doesn’t stop people from complaining. People complained about Spirit having zero feedback during a chase. People complained about Nurse ignoring all survivor defenses. People complain about Billy having no power recharge. Guess what? Nurse still ignores all survivor defenses and Spirit still provides zero feedback in a chase. Billy will most likely still have no power recharge when they rework his add-ons.

    Lots of talk.

All I asked is for you to record 10 matches of you playing Billy, yourselves.

Put your money where your mouth is.

You're saying Billy is broken, you're saying he is OP, you're saying he can always chainsaw whenever he pleases.

    Well, show us.

....Because I have to tell you, as a Billy Main who has been playing since 2016 - and normally plays with no Addons - I don't feel that powerful. I just thought maybe you knew something I didn't, maybe you discovered some skill I havent - or maybe I'm just bad and you're gods.

I just want players to produce evidence as to the power level of the character when using his power.

It really isn't a big ask. Recording and uploading your gameplay to YouTube is completely free.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Billy doesn’t have a cooldown and can chainsaw whenever he wants and wherever he wants. He isn’t limited by a cooldown like Spirit or has to recharge his power like Huntress.

That’s not me saying that he is 100% always going to be able to chainsaw a survivor. He just doesn’t have to wait for a cooldown like other killers do :/

He isn’t a broken killer by far.

Psssh don't even talk about Billy, it's obvious you touched him 2 or 3 times and never again if you think hillbilly can literally chainsaw good survivors all game. He's pretty easy to loop if that's all he does

I can talk about whatever I damn well please. You don’t know who I play or even who I am. Maybe you should stop throwing around assumptions.

I don’t play Billy because I don’t like him and he takes a bit of mechanical skill to use and I don’t wanna put in the effort to play a killer I already don’t like.

I’ve seen players who are good at Billy that typically like to chainsaw. If they HAVE to then they’ll M1 but I’ve seen some pretty good Billy players who know exactly where and how to curve the chainsaw. A skilled Billy vs skilled survivors is a pretty even match.

  • Thompson House is a fairly large map that can spawn super strong loops and four pretty safe fence pallets by the main building. That map is terrible.

As a low map pressure killer on a heavily survivor sided map, you can’t do much if the survivors split generators and are competent.

I just accept the fact that I’ll most likely lose on Thompson House whenever I play killer unless I’m playing Spirit.

  • Ruin gave killers more time on maps that are the size of Jupiter (Rotten Fields, Red Forest, Disturbed Ward, etc...). That is the only reason Ruin was needed for low map pressure killers.

Map sizes are a huge issue. The killers wastes half a generator just getting to one side of the map.

Ruin is not needed on maps the size of Coal Tower and Rancid Abattoir. Those maps are the perfect size and ALL maps should be between 132-156 square tiles. Ruin would need a change then, but now is just not the time when maps are the way they currently are.

  • I think people have began to realize how strong Plague can be. I’ve run into quite a bit of Vommy Mommy players. Albeit...most of them run the same basic ######### “Forever Plague” build.

Imma just keep quiet because I’m a Plague main and I’ve seen enough “Nerf Plague” posts.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010567#Comment_1010567

Again, that's like saying to show videos of people sitting at gens and never leaving even when the killer comes because it's OP and they should be able to make a 4 escape by just doing that, when you absolutely know it can't be done. There are times you have to M1, and Billy's power is not ONLY for chainsaw hits. It allows him basically the ability to Freddy Teleport to gens, but faster with no tell(aside from the chainsaw sound, but that's pretty much global so you don't know if he's coming to your gen), as well as one hit down, and if the exit gates are right across from each other, it's gonna be really damn hard to get out until he downs someone and picks them up, but he could just down someone, and not pick them up and let everyone kill themselves trying to get the gates open. I'm not saying he's OP, but his power helps him in more ways than one hit downing a survivor. Also, you said 50 matches. Every match will not be survivors being a bunch of idiots and jumping in lockers in front of the killer/etc, and I think it's pretty obvious that you're giving ridiculous requirements. A killer consists of M1s, their power, addons, grabs, and perks. Just like a survivor consists of items, addons, vaulting/throwing pallets/doing generators/hiding in lockers, and perks.

A power can be OP without it being the only thing the killer uses. Spirit's tracking is top notch, and her power is the reason for that, but you can't ONLY use her power, or you'd never get any downs. It's also used for map traversal which is quite nice, and she used to be able to bump into survivors and get information just for that, making it really easy to find survivors at generators and get gen grabs, and many other things. Would it be fair to say "Only phase all game, don't M1, and if you get a 4k, then her bumping into survivors is too strong"?

Billy's chainsaw is multi use. It has a lot of scenarios that make it useful, not only for it's 1 hit down capabilities, but again, I didn't say he was OP, just that you're basically creating a scenario that doesn't determine balance at all.

The difference between Billy and Spirit is that Spirit has a cooldown on her power and Billy can chainsaw whenever he pleases. Billy is the only killer in the game (besides Leatherface) that doesn’t have a cooldown or has to recharge their power.

I agree that sometimes it is easier to just get the M1 hit but most players who are good at Billy go strictly for chainsaw hits and it’s not that hard if you’re good with him.

Right. For this reason, all the animations in the game look ultra wretched. Therefore, they do not need to be changed. Nothing bad would have happened if this animation was in the game right now. Absolutely nothing bad would happen. On the contrary, such animations color the game. Make her better. And the fact that now in the game is squalor, at the sight of which I want to "punch my forehead with my hand."

The game has evolved to be more fast paced instead of a slow stealthy game of hide and seek which is why the animations have changed.

I prefer the older animation from a pure atmospheric point of view but I understand why they changed the animations. It’s more convenient and time saving for the killer if the animations are quicker.

  • Instasaw needs to be changed. That’s my only issue with Billy.

I don’t think Billy needs any serious changes but if he gets changed I can’t say I care all that much. I never play him and I snooze whenever I face against him.

Billy is a killer I tend to forget about because he is irrelevant to me when playing killer. I’ve never cared about him.

  • That animation is nice but it won’t be right for DBD in 2020.

Matches are MUCH faster paced now and everything has sped up. Killers hook faster, break generators and pallets faster, grab survivors faster, etc...

The game was super slow back then, that animation would never fit in the much faster more fluent DBD of 2020.

  • All I do is say “Ok Boomer” and they typically either stop or keep feeding me salt.

I love getting salt. It entertains me.

  • I play both sides. For the first year I started (2018), I played survivor a majority of my time.

Last year, I played about 70% killer and 30% survivor.

Nowadays I play survivor when I either don’t care about bloodpoints or I’m playing with friends.

I prefer survivor but queue times are too long and you don’t get nearly enough bloodpoints. So I play killer a majority of the time.

  • For killers, getting stunned in place (or flashlight blinds) and not being able to control your character is extremely frustrating. That’s why DS, pallet stuns, Head On, and flashlights are detested by most killers.

Head On is an extremely mediocre perk. You’re using a perk slot (an exhaustion perk at that) for a chance of stunning the killer.

It’s used by some SWF groups to get chain stuns on the killer which is very annoying. It’s not even them trying to win the match but just to annoying the killer. The perk is very troll inducing.

I personally don’t have an issue with it. If I get hit with Head On that means I know the survivor’s location and they’ve used up their exhaustion. Once you know they have Head On, it becomes very easy to bait it.
