  • I like Meg’s style because I dress athletic/comfy IRL.

Kate undoubtably has the prettiest face though.

  • Please delete Yamaoka maps. They’re the absolute worst. I wanna die every time I load into a Yamaoka map.

  • Depends on the killer I play as. As a basic M1 killer it’s gotta be OoO. It’s so strong in a coordinated group.

However, seeing how I play Spirit the most and she really doesn’t care about OoO, I have to say it would be Unbreakable. It can ruin all your momentum.

  • Can I make it a three-way with Spirit and Vommy Mommy?

  • It’s really not survivor sided. It’s slightly favored toward killer. There is no abusable loops, shack has a breakable wall, it’s a small map, most loops are unsafe, and the middle building is pretty manageable for killers unlike some buildings (cough Asylum cough) where you have to break chase because it’s too strong.

I’m not complaining that it is favored toward killer but I’m just stating that it has nothing strong for survivors to abuse, therefore it can’t be survivor sided.

  • Freddy is just boring. Snare-lusting at pallets and basically anything to do with slowdown is a snoozefest.

I guess Freddy does his job well of putting me to sleep because that’s what happens when I face him.

Wake me up when the round is over. zzzzzzzz

Azarov , sanctum of wrath and suffocation can both be killer and survivor sided if the killer doesn't get a 3 gen they can lose easy. But with the lack of strong loops and only a few pallets I'm happy with these maps as a killer.

Suffocation Pit is a lot stronger than Azarov’s because the middle is quite a bit stronger and it has a very good main structure that can spawn an extremely good window.

Sanctum of Wrath I hate just because it’s way too dark and all survivors are immersed and my matches are boring.

3 genning is easy yes, but you still have to hook people.

You still have to chase, and end chases extremely fast.

All you have to do is chase one person and hook them and ensure they die. Who cares if they fix gens on the opposite side of the map? Secure your side of the map and make the survivors come to you because they’ll be FORCED to since all the gens are on that side and their teammates is hooked on that side.

I hooked one survivor on my side of the map and downed another working on a gen on my side. The other two were forced to come to me and cross the chokepoint. They all got slugged. I was playing Pig. That map is just too easy to make survivor’s rounds hell :/

They have to cross the chokepoint in the middle and you can easily deter them away from the save just by standing in one place and making sure they don’t cross.

If the killer is competent and plays like a douche, you can’t win on Azarov’s as survivor.

  • Going strictly by statistics it would be Freddy. Strong, simple to play, low effort, and a very low skill cap. Anybody can be a “good Freddy”. He so easy to play and strong enough that any competent player can pick him up and play him to his fullest potential.

Nurse is arguably the strongest if you’re really good with her. Nurse is not strong if you anything but great with her. You have to know what you’re doing.

Spirit is arguably the strongest without having to put thousands of hours into her. She’s still not a braindead easy killer but you’ll be good with her a lot faster than Nurse.

  • Yes I do.

I also tilt my own head up or down every time I look up or down as killer to avoid a flashlight blind. Or when I’m playing Plague and I look up to make my puke go farther.

Haddonfield, Rotten Fields, Thompson House, Fractured Cow Shed, Ormond, Ironworks, Groaning Storehouse, The Game (with 2 God Pallets), The New Desert map is Camo-Dette heaven, Gas Heaven, Azervo's Resting Place, Pallet Lodge, Disturbed Ward, Temple of Purgation, Grim Pantry,

    Killer sided maps.

Sheltered Woods, The Game (stealth Killers), Lery's (except Nurse), Coal Tower.

Torment Creek can go either way if the God window spawns or not.

Azarov’s is quite literally the most killer sided map in the game. All you have to do is hook a survivor and stay on that side of the map and force all survivors to come to the chokepoint. Getting a 3 gen is so easy on that map. It’s weak as hell for survivor.

Coal Tower is the most balanced map in the game. The main structure is strong but not absurdly powerful. Your average jungle gyms/T-walls and some dead zones. Best part is that it is SMALL and all killers can reach their fullest potential without being dragged down by a gigantic map.

  • Probably the worst designed killer (gameplay wise) in the entire game.

They are noob stompers because all low rank survivors will do is heal when it isn’t worth it and against good survivors they really don’t have a power. Their power is to give survivors Borrowed Time and a Sprint Burst.

Annoying to play against and weak as hell to play as. I don’t see how anybody gets enjoyment out of playing Legion.

I play Huntress primarily, played spirit for awhile

she is extremely easy when compared to huntress who takes a level of skill, holding W and ending chases without any effort is boring-same reason i dropped Nurse a long time ago.

Stridor makes Spirits effortless gameplay even easier, its not even comparable to DS or Noed since those have limits and can be played around. stridor simply spirit into a game of sonar thats made already easy by default due to how loud many survivors cry in pain

”Holding W and ending chases without any effort” and you compare NURSE to this? Her skill cap is quite frankly the largest in the game. Once you’re good with her it’s easy but she takes the most “skill” in the game to use and master.

Don’t take this the wrong way but I’ve seen so many Huntress main who are so bougie. They act as though Huntress is the only skillful killer and act superior because they’ve mastered a hard killer. Not you in particular but I typically just roll my eyes and nod my head at Huntress mains.

If you think Spirit is easy then that’s your opinion but going against most survivors makes any killer look easy. I play Pig a bunch and 4K in 90% of my games but if the survivors were extremely optimal, I wouldn’t stand a chance. If you think a mediocre Spirit is going to beat a sweat squad with green toolboxes on Rotten Fields just because she has Stridor then you are wrong. A good Spirit will possibly get 2 kills, a mediocre one may get 2-4 hooks.

You could very well be great with Spirit, but I just disagree that she is an “easy killer”. She’s EASIER than Nurse and Huntress but not a braindead easy killer.

Yes, I used her to get a free carry to red rank, she is by far the easiest killer to play

IW and Spine Chill are the only perks that are truly solid vs her, using a perk to make her mindless gameplay easier is pretty lame, hence why I don’t use it; it’s a crutch.

idk why I’m arguing this, if people are proud of running stridor on her then they were probably never good to begin with

The “Spirit is easy” statement is so idiotic. How many good Spirit players do you run into? It’s few and far between because most players just aren’t that good including survivors. So when a mediocre Spirit runs into good survivors they get stomped because all they’ve been doing is stomping potatoes. I don’t know where all these amazing Spirits are that people go against. Most of the ones I go against are boosted.

She’s not as easy as people keep saying she is. Play her against a good team on Blood Lodge, any farm map, any gigantic map, or basically any survivor-sided map and she’s going to get gen rushed like any other killer.

She’s great in a chase (if you’re good) and can end chases quickly but she doesn’t have the map pressure AND chase ability to be completely overbearing like players claim she is.

If people wanna use Stridor on Spirit it’s their choice. Players aren’t going to feel bad about using DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, etc...why should I feel bad that I run Stridor on Spirit because somebody thinks it’s “a crutch” and that makes me bad?

  • It’s never impressive to win using the most powerful items/add-ons/perks.

Sure I can win as Spirit with double purple add-ons and an ebony mori. I have over 100 Wakizashi Sayas and Yakuyoke Amulets.

I can use a Commodious or a key with DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, and Adrenaline.

Neither side really has bragging rights when using broken things.

I’m not pointing at you specifically but I’m talking about in general.

  • The sensitivity is much higher on keyboard and mouse and you’re not as limited. You can easily get 360’ed on console because you simply can’t turn as fast as survivors can and you’re much more limited with sensitivity. Sensitivity is SUPER low on console.

K/M is much more fluid and easier to use than a controller for killer. Survivor is basically the same.

  • YAMAOKA IS THE WORST

Corn maps are terrible as well.

Asylum and Pantry have the strongest central structures in the entire game.

Ormond is just one big connected pallet loop.

The Game is pallet kicking simulator with nothing but safe pallets.

Red Forest maps are the size of Jupiter. They need to be shrunk in size.

Most maps aren’t pleasant for killer though :/

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

I see you're not a fan of indoor maps. I am guessing you don't play the stealth killers much.

Indoor maps are just boring and not fun for any killer except stealth killers. I play stealth killers (mainly Pig) but even then, it’s just boring to play.

I hate corn and Yamaoka the most though.

  • @Boss said:

And from which Killer does this come?

No specific killer, just a general list.

If I made one for a killer like Huntress then Blood Lodge would be at the top. With a stealth killer, Blood Lodge would be at the bottom.

The killers I play the most are Spirit, Plague, and Pig so my list is based off of my experience with those three mainly but they are three very different killers

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/134563/why-are-there-so-many-pallets

Auto haven have always been somewhat of a mess to play as Killer. Since those maps are all pretty small (except Gas Heaven) they usually tend to spawn with WAY to many pallets close together. At least they are somewhat unsafe if you mind game right but still a very survivor sided map in general. And don’t even get me started with the 5 versions of Badham Preschool

Autohaven is not a small realm. Azarov’s and Blood Lodge (168 sq tiles) are even bigger than Gas Heaven and Wretched Shop is the same size as Gas Heaven. Wrecker’s Yard is pretty small though.

Autohaven is considered one of the best killer realms because most of the pallets are able to be mindgamed and it has barely any line of sight blockers, but also has strong central structures and loop spots. Overall Autohaven is very balanced when compared to other maps.

Badham is terrible. I dread getting those maps.

  • As a survivor:

Having terrible teammates who are immersed and can’t survive a chase.

I don’t typically have an issue with being camped but it’s super irritating to go against a Leatherface and ALL they do is camp at 5 gens.

Having teammates waste all the pallets and not preserving them.

    As a killer:

    Having three minutes games.

Being bored out of my mind. I would much rather get my ass kicked and all survivors escape than have to search around Yamaoka for Claudettes who are blending and not doing generators.

Missing swings because I can’t physically turn my camera as fast as survivors do since I play on console.

Bloodlust making my character lag and spin in an opposite direction.

    Frame drops

Slugs not making sounds and survivors making zero sound without Iron Will.

I don’t rage but these moments make me go “Darn. Guess I should have played better even though I physically can’t. Get outplayed idiot.”

  • The Oni patch screwed up the lighting on the older Yamaoka map and introduced a new Yamaoka map that is somehow even worse. The map wouldn’t be nearly as bad if the lighting wasn’t changed. I hate having to strain to find Blendette in the bamboo. It’s frustrating as hell. I HATE and DREAD getting one of the Yamaoka maps.

The Yamaoka map on the Spirit’s PTB was much more scenic. It wasn’t completely finished yet but I loved the gray mist/fog and the gray color background of the map.

  • Spirit is already dead and can go invisible at her own will and make husks of herself. She would be very strategic and smart. Plus she’s a vengeful Yamaoka with build up rage ready to be unleashed. I gotta go with Spirit.

If we’re talking just brute strength then I’d pick Oni.

Myers would be the hardest (non-invisible) one to kill.

The final four would be like...Spirit, Nurse, Huntress, and Myers I’d say.

  • I use Iron Will so I don’t mind staying injured.

  • @Talmeer said:

I have only 1 killer really main, because I believe that to be focused on just 1 matter will always be better as someone to try to be perfect in everything possible.

That said, I have also other killers and even survivors play, but my gametime with them is not comparable to the 1 killer I have main.

I am the exact same. I always find myself going back to Spirit. I love her backstory, her aesthetic, and her playstyle. I’ve put more hours and bloodpoints into her than any other killer. I have some killers at P3 that still need perks (Demo, Nurse, Huntress) and when I get to 1M BP I just don’t care enough to sink BP into them. I dump them all into Spirit and get more add-ons.

I’ve avoided her a bit recently in favor of Plague due to broken sounds but I’m starting to play her more often.

Overall I’ve probably put more BP and had more playtime as survivor (Meg) though.

  • Sometimes you HAVE to do some camping, tunneling, and slugging to win as a killer. If three gens pop after my first chase and I hook a survivor in the basement and all my gens are on my side of the map, why would I leave? You just can’t play fair especially if you are a low mobility killer. No way to win against optimal teams that way.

Sometimes a survivor gets hooked in the killer’s three gen and the killer has no reason to leave the hook.

Most games you just can’t play nice and get 12 hooks and except to win.

  • Any female character with a skirt. I hate a majority of skirt cosmetics except the Meg tennis skirt and Nea’s skirts (even Nea are kinda cringe).

I especially hate the Feng skirts.

  • I don’t see what the issue would be for making it like Deathslinger’s ultra-rare add-on where it is an instadown from “X” amount of meters.

Making it 24 meters or more would synergize well with the “Skilled Huntress” achievement and would reward good Huntress players for making long range shots. In the case she wouldn’t have a downside with hatchets, she’d still be able to carry 5 hatchets.

It would reward skilled players while also removing the possibility of Huntress being able to hug a survivors character model and cheese them with an instadown.

  • He is very oppressive when he has his power up especially if the player is good with him, but he doesn’t need any nerfs. He is honestly in a very great spot.

The best thing to do is hide and be as stealthy as possible when he has his power. There isn’t much to do except run corners as tight as possible and make as many sharp turns around corners as you can.

There are killers with FAR more issues than Oni.

  • I definitely have those fears that I’ll be alone since I live in a small town but I’ve always been an independent person who never felt like they needed to be in a relationship. I always wanted to be secure in my own career field before focusing on a relationship with another person.

I also have really close friendships so that’s a plus.

You’re a very sweet person who is very easy to talk to @pemberley anyone would be lucky to have you as a partner 💜

  • Yamaoka wouldn’t be half as bad if it was as bright as it was on the Spirit’s PTB. The skyline was a bright orange and you could still clearly see. I get stuck on random rocks as both survivor and killer that I can’t see. It’s especially bad on PS4 because you can’t change graphic settings. I hoping they change the new map to not be as dark as it was on the PTB. It would be as bad as Yamaoka if it was kept the same.

  • Yamaoka. 1000X Yamaoka. I hate it so much.

  • @GrootDude and I did a Blendette round and burned a Yamaoka offering with Iron Will and Calm Spirit. That poor Doctor was on the struggle bus.

Yamaoka is waaaaaay too dark though. You can barely spot Blendette.

  • Survivor

It’s a toss up between OoO and DS. I hate DS against good teams because you can hook another survivor and chase the original survivor and still get “outskilled”. The whole “I’m gonna sit in a locker for a minute just to spite you with my invincible force field” is super frustrating. OoO is just a very annoying perk to deal with unless you are a high mobility killer like Spirit, Nurse, or Billy.

Unbreakable is high on the list too.

    Killer

There isn’t too many killer perks I have an issue with. Bamboozle is for players who can’t run windows properly and NOED rewards you for losing the match. Although I guess I dislike Infectious Fright the most at the moment just because EVERY Oni, Myers, and Billy runs it and downs the entire team. I understand why, slugging is great on those three killers but it’s so boring to be slugged for a long period of time.

  • I’m doubtful. When they give Huntress another ultra-rare add-on, Iridescent Head is pretty certainly getting changed. I think it’ll only apply the exposed effect from a certain distance (15-20 meters maybe?). An easy fix.

  • He can. I’ve had a lot of cloaked Wraith players camp the hatch and close it in my face.

  • Pig. She so simple and easy to use. If I lose against a good group it’s like “Oh well...I was Pig, what was I gonna do?”

  • I was new and Meg was my first character I leveled up and I was born in 1998.

I’ll always be a boosted Meg main at heart but my forum name isn’t exactly what I want at the moment :(

    Fav: Myers

Worst: Ghostface or Legion. Can’t decide.

Funny how Myers/GF share similarities yet one is fun and with the other I’d rather uninstall the game.

Myers is so fun to face against, I dunno why. I just love Myers.

Ghostface is just so wonky on his reveal mechanics that it’s unpleasant to face. I’ve also had so many GF burn Hawkins and Lery’s offerings. Stealth killers give me anxiety.

Still my two favorite horror icons though :D

  • I just gonna go through the killer roster...

Trapper: I’m stressed and anxious that I’m gonna step in his traps, but I don’t mind him.

Wraith: I hate two out of the four stealth killers and Wraith is one I hate just because I’ve had bad experiences with a lot of Bing Bong players.

Billy: Hate going against Billy. The whole team dies in two minutes.

    Nurse: I like Nurse

    Myers: Love Myers

Hag: Usually very campy but can have fun chases.

    Doctor: Hate Doctor.

Huntress: Hatchet hitboxes are VERY generous to her but typically I won’t complain about Huntress. Iridescent Head is another story though.

Leatherface: Similar to Hag where he is usually very campy. The chases are fine but if you loop him for too long he’ll get mad and you get a fat facecamp.

Freddy: zzzzzzz, huh? Oh sorry, I feel asleep out of boredom. Yeah snare-lusting Freddy is super boring.

    Pig: Don’t mind her

    Clown: He’s ‘ight.

Spirit: “Get out-mindgamed nerds!” I don’t have trouble with Spirit as much as others do.

Legion: It ain’t old Legion so they’re fine.

    Plague: Vommy Mommy is fine.

Ghostface: The second half of the stealth killers I hate facing.

    Demogorgon: I LOVE facing Demogorgon.

Oni: I think I like him just for the chase music, but I like facing Oni. Just not much you can do once he has his power.

  • It’s hard to hear footsteps over chase music but you can’t DEFINITELY hear footsteps loud and clear while phasing with Spirit since she requires a quiet background in order to hear.

  • Hawkins on both sides. Decently strong loops and some dead zones. A mixture of both loops and pallets. Plus I’m a bit biased because I love Stranger Things.

Lery’s is such a snoozefest. I love the aesthetic they changed it to but it’s still ALL windows basically and you’re running into a random room hoping to find a pallet.

The Game is the complete opposite of Lery’s. It’s ALL pallets and only one jungle gym downstairs. It’s basically pallet kicking simulator then when all the pallets are gone the survivor have absolutely nothing and chases are quick and boring. It’s just 20 safe pallets and nothing else.

I hate all indoor maps but I hate Hawkins the least.

    1) I know what agency is, I worked in game dev and game design.

    2) You're just parroting what Scott said, and I'm not saying Scott was wrong but... his complaints aren't exactly about agency, they're about the difficulty of playing against her. They are not the same, she is the type of character you have to really be on point even against an average player. It's like any game with a really strong character, if you don't try your best you probably won't succeed. And most people don't like to try that hard when they play this game, and if they do they get frustrated by it.

    3) If you know how fast she is and how far she can go during phase you will know that her options are limited. Knowing that, and based on the situation there are safe and risky moves you can make to avoid her. People seem to have this idea that she is infallible but she's not. You have to see what she can actually do, then take the approach that you think is best. You can call that a "guess" but it's not as much of a guess as it is calculating risk V rewards.

    4) I never said Oh Tofu is bad, or anyone is bad. I said it takes a specific type of skill which most people lack, regardless of how much they play or how good they are. Again there are pro players that lack this skill that have clear difficulty playing against lesser skilled players that can do this.

    5) Fact is Spirit can be counter played. She just can. I have done it. I've had it done to me, and I might not be the absolute best killer but I am definitely a strong Spirit player. It's not easy but it can be done. Just because you or even Tofu have trouble with this doesn't mean she is broken or has no counter play.

I’ve played against Spirit. I’ve countered a Spirit and won against Spirit. Yes, she can be counterplayed but she has a lack of consistent counterplay and isn’t pleasant to face, it’s unsatisfying. That’s why people DC against her and don’t try because they want to know what the opposing player is doing. Like Huntress for example. You don’t have to guess when she is throwing a hatchet.

^ That isn’t my exact opinion on Spirit but that is what I read a bunch of “Spirit haters” saying.

Knowing how fast the Spirit phases or how long she can phase is debatable. What if she has duration add-ons? Or speed add-ons? She’s not always going to be the same speed and phase for the length of time you think she is going to.

Thinking “creatively” is a fancy way of saying that you’re trying to predict her movements AKA a guess. A guess that is tied into the favor of the Spirit. I can try to predict the Spirit’s movement because I know what most Spirit players think. I used to play as her a lot. But she has a bunch of cues as to your location. You have none on her except soft footsteps.

Although some streamers exaggerate her strength and say she has NO counterplay. It’s pretty annoying to hear that over and over again. To the point where they are just complaining for sake of complaining.

My opinion on Spirit is that she’s in a balanced place and needs no changes but I know how unpleasant she is to face. I don’t mind facing a Spirit, but when I get “outmindgamed” it’s just a big “Darn” moment.

  • All survivor adepts and all killer adepts.

Thank GOD I got Nurse and Huntress when I was relatively new and against Rank 20’s. I basically played like an M1 killer. Also back then you didn’t have to double pip for the trophy.

The hardest was probably Plague. It’s so hard to double pip with her. When I got it, it said “Ruthless Killer” but the score double pipped me so I got the trophy. I ain’t complaining.

Playing against Spirit is like flipping a coin.

Heads... ok, it seems I escaped, she´s still looping around that pallet, I'm gone.

Tails... oh... a hit... outplayed I guess...

Darn, you got outplayed. Maybe just play better next time and “mindgame” the Spirit 4Head.

Of course i know god tier billys, but they all have one thing in common to pull off this crazy curving #########.

Doom Engravings. Thats it. Without that addon, many curves are impossible to do right in time.

Billy is totally fine, its just this one addon that makes him broken on really REALLY good billy players.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1107383#Comment_1107383

Writing "problem" and "Huntress" in the same sentence is a little bit absurd. She is totally fine and can be one of the sickest killers in the game... just hard to play thats all, but her potential is insane. Check out umbra and zubat for example. And there are better Huntress players out there then those 2 i have faced aswell.

Huntress is amazing in the right hands but she can only reach her full potential on very few maps.

She just can’t do much on maps that aren’t MacMillan and Autohaven. There is too many line of sight breakers and she can’t throw long range hatchets which is where she shines.

There won’t be many maps they make that are good for Huntress because she’s one of the only killers that it hinders to have LOS blockers. Other killers are either stealthy or use mindgamable tactics at LOS blockers.

Example: Blood Lodge is amazing for Huntress due to wide open areas but completely hinders killers like Ghostface and Myers as you can see them from a mile away. While Hawkins is amazing for stealth killers and decent for the rest of the roster due to being able to possibly sneak on survivors, but Huntress can’t do anything.

The new map looks like a pretty good Huntress map though.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Billy is just fine how he is.

So is Spirit. I swear anyone that says you can't outplay a Spirit simply has 0 creative thinking skills. You certainly can outplay a Spirit. She is far from broken.

You can outplay a Spirit if you guess her movements right and that’s why players hate her. You are guessing where she is and trying to throw off her tracking. You don’t know her exact location in a chase like all other killers so when you go down it’s like “Darn, I guessed wrong. Guess I should play better”.

She’s a very unsatisfying killer to lose to. Not that she is OP or broken, just unsatisfying because you made the wrong guess.

  • On paper, Deathslinger looks strong and warrants a 110% movement speed...but in actual gameplay he is going to be hurt by bigger maps.

On a map like Coal Tower? Sure 110% is fine. On Red Forest? Rotten Fields? Disturbed Ward? No way. He’s way too slow. Even 115% killers have issues on those maps.

The current 110% killers have super strong power that absolutely warrant 110% movement speed.

Huntress should ONLY be 115% movement speed when completely out of hatchets and should gain a 1% increase to speed after every hatchet thrown.

Spirit is a no-brainer. We all know why she is 110%.

People underestimate Hag. She would be a little bit too strong with 115%. She already has chase potential and map pressure. No need to make her any faster. A good Hag doesn’t need faster speed.

Deathslinger is a solid killer but unlike Spirit and Hag...he can’t apply map pressure and have chase potential at the same time. Huntress can at least pressure the other side of the map with hatchets. If he could actually pull survivors over pallets and is as viable as Huntress at pallet loops then 110% would be fine:

I don’t see the point of having Deathslinger at 110%. That would be like having Plague at 110% because she has a ranged attack.

I understood your comparison of Billy and Deathslinger. I know it wasn’t intended to be a “Nerf Billy” thread. People get triggered over the title and don’t read the post.

1 … 14 15 16 17 18 … 55
