Does it work like that? I thought it was random per player.
I think it is, but I think it’s like a group of people are getting this one and another group is getting this one etc
i don’t know this as fact, but I know when I see a certain daily, during my own matches I’ll see an uptick in people suddenly playing that person

I have learned not to heal and I try to get distance but if I don't heal he downs me and I don't drop pallets as I'm terrible at looping so I save those for those who can. No matter what I do I get downed 🥺
If he’s hitting one of your teammates while in feral frenzy, he sees your heartbeat, that’s how he’s finding you.

Can a higher rank survivor please tell me how the hell to go up against Legion? I have had 7 matches today where not one generator has been repaired. I know that you can't have more than one or he can find you. However with that being said 3 of my matches I was alone on my generator and he magically knew where I was even though I was across the map. Does Legion get an add on that allows to see survivors no matter what?
Most are running discordant corrupt sloppy and jolt. Add ons none. I'm getting to the point where I want to throw my controller cause every match I have against a Legion it is 100% fail.
There’s a Legion daily right now, it’ll die down.

thankfully they are trying to make survivor moans equal. unfortunately this will make some survivors louder like ace. even tho i think male survivors should have quite moans by default to make up for their size
Reallllly?! This makes me happy. A few of them (Jane obviously included) are so ridiculously loud. And Jeff is ridiculous too lol

Hex No one Escapes Death. A perk any killer can get early in their bloodweb. A perk that was created to give noobs, trolls, and low skill killers the auto 2k. I thought with the update it was finally gonna be nerfed out of use but no. It's still the op cheat perk for a killer who can't get the 4k or even a 1k when the gates are powered to get their token kill. I'm sorry but if a team gets all gens done and the killer needs no end to get any kill that's not skill, that's just useing the easy button. Yes the devs did put a expanding aura on it but it's only if you run right up on it. Now I'm not saying it's gonna be removed but let's nurf no end like Dead Hard, Boon Healing, Spine chill, Self Care etc. Why not remove the exposed and just keep the haste? Oh in know all the killer mains are in a uproar for saying that but it truth. Devs took away the survivor builds cause the killer mains whined them dead perks. So is it just fair to do the same to no end? Just a thought.
It’s a perk just like any perk. I run it, no shame. I don’t need it 98% of the time and the other 2% the teams I face will insta cleanse. So it doesn’t even much matter at this point.
I will say…I have a pretty high killer mmr, but my boyfriend has a much higher one and I went on his account today to see how I would fair out of curiosity…I got stomped and had a sad 1k ..and on those super high level teams, there is no noed. They don’t even give it a chance to activate. So idk, maybe do that.

More killers whining about the hatch. If they find the hatch before you, they have a right to gloat. When everyone else dies, it's a race for the hatch. 1st 1 there gets to gloat. I've had many killers gloat when closing the hatch on a survivor who wanted it after other 3 escaped and the NOED them. They gloated by keeping them in the basement (killer was trapper and trapped the doors and windows of the shack) and kept them there, hooking them last second before the world collapsed. Your point is invalid as killers gloat over stupid things too so stop complaining, all of you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521335#Comment_1521335
Hatch isn't getting "fixed" but the keys are being tweaked. Only fix the hatch needed was grabbing survivors as they jumped in by hatch campers in the beginning. Just all of you stop whining about losing cause no matter what. Survivors escaping means they still beat you. Get over it.
“Survivors escaping means they still beat you.”
No. It means they got lucky. It also means the killer didn’t slug for the 4k, something constantly complained about. So just be thankful, exit your pity door and move on. You lost.

If a killer wrecks me, but was fair..I’ll say GG

How are others not as fortunate? You can adjust your TV's brightness, contrast, etc. You can adjust a monitors settings. The people who at one time might have been screwed were people playing on laptops, where said settings aren't so easily changed, depending on the laptop. Now we have NVidia Filters/Freestyle. There are some maps that are simply too dark for my monitor and my eyes. Not everyone has the same visual acuity, so it's likely allowed as an accessibility option.
Yes. When the match starts and I see it’’s Dredge, I’m going to go into my tv settings and try to adjust my settings to what I think will be good enough to conquer the darkness. And then I’ll just pop right back into the game, unharmed im sure, sounds ideal.
So I said what I said.
-
@pizzavessel15 said:
why is the dredge so loud when hes moving normally? it makes his nightfall undetectable kinda pointless because survivors can hear him before he even gets in their fov. survivors also can hear him moving from behind a wall. why is this and are there any plans on lowering his movement sound?
It’s not pointless. In fact the screen is so dark, I literally cannot see anything. So I don’t think he needs to be completely silent as well.
From what I’ve heard, PC players just adjust the lighting so they don’t have to suffer, blindly through the darkness…but others of us, are not so fortunate.

Survivors are allowed to do anything, even all but force you to slug or get no hooks, because of gameplay like that…but it’ll always be the killer who is accused of playing unfair unfortunately.

I dont see survivors ask for basekit Hope, basekit OTR, basekit auto DH.
But I see killers ask for
- basekit Bamboozle
- basekit Noed
- basekit Crowncontrol
- basekit Corrupted intervention
- basekit Ruin
- survivor should die on first hook
- kill 2 survivors and Enity kill the other 2
- 120sec Gen
while they already have
- basekit 2 stack of STBFL
- basekit Tier1 Brutal strength
- basekit 10% PGTW
- 50sec Gen
Literally never seen killers ask for any of those things, just constant complaints from survivors about what they should be entitled to.

Not really sure how I slighted him, but god if only reporting these people did something.
Were you BMing? Baiting him into chase, with the underlying tone of “you can’t catch me?”
If you want to play cocky and run the killer, that’s fine…but, if it gets you slugged or hit on hook for doing so, that’s on you. Your “fun,” isn’t necessarily fun for the killer. Perhaps he thought you were trying to make him look like a joke.

These days BHVR can't let an update pass without Feng and Felix getting cosmetics, I'm just about numb to it at this point. Not to mention Jane got a mask in the last event, and got a full outfit in the Store just this week... so half of the Survivor shirt choices are questionable.
The event is okay for me so far. But like others are saying here, my biggest complaint is that they seem to have taken a step backwards from the last event. The Masquerade had a page where you could see your unlock progress on the various cosmetics. I'm not seeing that information this time.
Until very recently, Jane is left out almost always when it comes to new cosmetics. Her new cosmetics are much deserved.
And like it or not, Feng is one of the most played survivors…I appreciate her getting new cosmetics, no matter how many old ones she has.

To be fair, being required to take a map offering (or the counter offering) should never be required to have an acceptable experience in terms of maps. Many of them are very clearly skewed in either favor, and in all honesty map offerings should pretty much only be for killers whos powers/loadouts need specific types of maps (aka indoor vs outdoor.)
People bringing RPD and Game offerings every single time shouldn't force the killer to give up their offering slot just for a chance at a more balanced map.
Map offerings can for sure be very frustrating, do you main a particular killer or do you play different ones?
While six times in a row seems a little insane, I will say I had autohavens three times in a row last night..so who knows…
anywho ..while larger maps are obviously harder for a killer, I will say I’ve learned that sometimes you (yes you as the killer) just don’t do well on certain maps. And it’s actually your skill there and not whether it favors either party. I mean this in no cruel way, I’ve had to learn and adapt myself. There are maps I am dog water on and my boyfriend can go to the same map, as the same killer and destroy swfs.
i main Trapper, so no matter how much I hate a map, I’ve learned which area is useful to trap out and it becomes gg’s no matter the map. That being said, if some maps were to disappear forever, I would not complain a bit. Also if I already see a bunch of high level prestige’s in my lobby (that are def swfs) I bring an offering to cancel any map offerings, at least skews their plan a little.

My first experience with a bully squad is what prompted me to write my own thread/discussion about the issue (here is you want to read it https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/347588/i-hate-flashlights/p1)
But to save you the click, I was pretty much bullied by a swf with flashlights. Chain blinded to oblivion, told to uninstall and that I was "bad' in the post-game. Bodyblocked and denied pickups/hooks. At one point I was in a standoff at shack, I had downed a survivor as they attempted to vault through the window. As I climbed through to pick them up, the other three members of their team surrounded me. One was behind me at the window, one was in front and the other was to my left. I literally could not go for pick up because if I did, I'd just get blinded, if I tried to leave the downed survivor slugged to chase, one of the survs on "stand-by" would just run in with their medkit and heal the slug. if I tried to vault back behind me I'd just get blinded. I just didn't know what to do, I was so flustered and annoyed. They couldn't have been more obvious that they were on Discord or some other voice chat app, their movements were just too coordinated.
Anyway, until that point, I had dealt with cocky survivors but I've always managed and had been able to let it go and move on to the next game. But something about the way they played just broke me a little, like they were playing as if they didn't want to play the game, but torment me, the killer instead. Like I was just some silly AI Bot to abuse, there for their own amusement and nothing else. I know that a more skilled player would have been able to deal with them, but I'm still a baby/new killer and don't have much experience with those kinds of players.
My best advice and I know it's not overly helpful until the actual culture around DbD changes and people remember that they are indeed versing people and not inhuman AI. Is to just step away, make yourself a coffee or a cup of tea and take deep breaths. Let them make fools of themselves and let them think that they're "l33t" because they can play a video game.
This post made me so sad. That is top notch toxicity. It’s zero fun and it’s unnecessary. But I think you nailed it…a lot of survivors do treat killers with no regard that they’re actual humans.
The BMing is so disgusting. For me, I can take a loss…but I don’t want to be tbagged and clicked at over and over and over w it. I rarely take mercy on survivors anymore, because why…so even when I’ve let them go, they can tbag at the gate?

yawn point of post = killers camp and tunnel because of gen rushing. AND that the 3k was pointless, because it was end game hooks only due to gen rushing..meaning three hooks..meaning I lost a pip anyway..meaning the only survivor got 17k points..meaning, they probably did too. Meaning gen rushing is pointless for everyone. Is that simple enough for you? Or do you wanna misinterpret my words again?

But... that's...gen rushing, at least my definition, ik it's not a real thing, but that's...idk how to explain it, but it's gen rushing, lol
No. That is using your time wisely, not gen rushing.
Gen rushing, is when a SWF coordinates with each other to all load up on gen rushing perks and fully loaded toolboxes. But everyone on this board is acting like they have no idea what it is. Like there isn’t 50 other posts about perks regarding gen rushing. When SWF teams plan to “gen rush,” they know exactly what they’re doing ahead of time.
-
@ays12151 said:
All Killers (except Nurse & Blight) need a huge buff. They will add base kit unbreakable, for Killer, they should add base kit Corrupt Intervention.
A lot of Killers are unplayable against a SWF teams, not matter what. Sometimes your chases end very fast, but still is not enough.
In future Patch Killer will not Slug (it was the best way to make pressure on the map, just 1 slugged person). Camping is nerfed, Tunneling is nerfed.
In future Killer won't be able to do anything... And the worst part of it - strong & confident (sometimes very toxic) SWF will abuse it.
I agree and I think corrupt intervention base kit would be 100% fair as a match to unbreakable base kit. But I doubt they’ll ever go for it, this game caters to SWF survivors.

>Game is already over. I ended up w a 3k
I'm not saying what you described isn't frustrating, but if I was going to pop a quick anecdote into my post, I'd probably pick one that supported my argument better... maybe even one that rose to the level of "at all"
Like, we've all camped to secure a 1k. Just say that.
"Ended with a 3k" unbelievable
You’ve heard of teams being too altruistic? Apparently these forums are full of survivors and low level killers. I’ve seen maybe two people with an actual understanding.
So, let me help you, when teams are overly altruistic, it usually leads to death or multiple survivors. So two of them came to rescue their Ada and got downed. The 4th survivor left, instead of trying to save either of them. So the point was, even though it was a 3k, I lost a pip and the only survivor had 17k points. Pointless game. But 95% of you don’t even understand what grn rushing is so 🤷🏻♀️
-
@Mat_Sella said:
Oh no, the survivors did their only objective. "HOW DARE THEY!"
Should they twiddle their thumbs when killers arent pressuring them?
A killer that cant find them on a gen cant be chased (for those who ascribe to the 'chases are the only fun part of the game')
Also, No Way Out and NOED are extremely effective at getting at LEAST one more kill in your average match if you're even barely competent with killer as a whole.
If you cant see why there isnt a correlation, you have MUCH to learn my friend.
You obviously don’t understand what gen rushing is, and I’m not going to repeat myself. So maybe read the post again slowly. And if you were as woke to DBD as you think you are, you would realize how weak NOED is against good swfs …noed is for baby teams.

No. Any good killer knows if you’re camping against a good team, you’re allowing survivors that time to bust out gens without fear of being chased off. So like I said, it’s the other way around.

It seems it’s just survivors who refuse to do anything but work on gens. Not sure how that is possible since killers can chase survivors off gens, trap gens, and manipulate them otherwise, but the specific example commonly used to illustrate genrushing is survivors letting a teammate die on hook in priority of finishing gens. The tactic is said to be most common amongst SWF, although I personally have never seen this.
The fact none of you even know what gen rushing is, is sad. You’re either low level killers or survivor mains with no regard for how anything else in dbd works. Or faking ignorant.
-

I have not been in these so called "games where the survs pop 3/4 gens in the first chase" not even once in my entire dbd playtime.
The only times i can remember of a similar situation are when killers were purposely AFK or the killer was very new to the game and could not use their character properly.
Do you know why i havent been in these situations?
Because that kind of play are usually reserved to high MMR matches where you cant possibly reach unless you play a good swf team.
As current MMR works, it is way easier to up your mmr as killer than soloq survs. So expect constant SWF teams as you must have passed the point where you could get matched with normal soloQ players like me.
I play solo survivor too and trust me, my teams are nothing like the teams I have as killer. I play with a bunch of potatoes and then end up playing against the navy seals …it’s ridiculous.

I am serious, I don't know whats wrong with you people. I am literally playing Hillbilly on Lery's, the game is already in your favor just based on RNG. Just stay away from me. DON'T come and crowd up around him trying to go for the flashlight save. Don't bodyblock and take hits. Super cool dude! You guys took 2 hits and the dude got off my shoulder, guess what? You just took 2 downs and 2 hooks gaining that save, you didn't do jack.
I think I've finally figured out why everyone cries so much about the Survivor experience. It's literally because you suck at this game. STOP. GETTING. CAUGHT. It's literally the name of the game. You wanna loop me? Great, do that, WHEN I CATCH YOU. Loop me for 5 gens, AFTER I catch you. Until that time, hide, sneak, and stay hidden. Getting caught, ESPECIALLY when I have an insta-down power.
I will NEVER listen to another whiny Survivor cry about how unfair this is, as long as I have idiots running right into me when I'm holding a chainsaw. I won't. Cry me more rivers to float down.

there are a lot of things that are very strong in swf that aren't usable in solo q or don't bring as much of an advantage as playing swf, from perks to information about where the killer is and much more, few examples:
MMR change, solo q: Very bad for the solo, people who are experienced and have thousands of hours are now made with hundreds of hours of players who hide at the edge of the map and get scared with a little TR, die very quickly in the chase and much more
SWF: you play with your friends everything stays the same only you don't get ok-good players like before the change, but now swf players also get 500h killers in the lobby who of course have no chance and ask him if it's fun if 5 gens are finished and he only has his 1 hook
killer buffs and Meta Perk changes, solo q: Your mates in the solo q didn't last long before either, but since the change to the basekit for the killers, they die much faster and the changes to the meta perks result in a lot of dcs and self kills on the hook because they don't last long survive and if it's a nurse, many will do it immediately because they're already frustrated, no more ds if they die again in 10sec and are tunneled accordingly, no dead hard to get to a loop quickly, no iron will where they can hide next to the killer because they are not so good at looping and hiding also brings time in, all that and much more is left out for the solo q who also had it very difficult
SWF: the changes were a bit small for the swf, the group members won't start dying or becoming usless faster, less cooldown after a hit ? break pallets faster? Longer gene time? a swf that doesn't consist of bots laughs about it, Perks changes... "hay mate you get tunneled ? yes, come to the shack i need a tank", just don't forget bloodlust, just bad in the solo q, how can you buff that ? in a swf "I need a hit tank that wants me to bloodlust" hit tank and everything is gone
and now comes Perma Unbreakable: solo q: "Oh boy I don't need a mate I can get up myself" done
SWF: Benefits for the swf: We can play as many perk builds that killers troll all day, just Sabo swf alone, or even better Power struggle swf, a mate simply has to be nearby who is being chased and then you as a killer can't do anything, and neither of them other mates can make gens, as it was before it was obvious that the solo q will go down, bhvr little spoiler i'm not clairvoyant but many will be so upset that you'll do something to the sabo stuff and to power struggle, that's like RPD with sabo swf....
swf is like Nurse, just not healthy for the game, perks have to be changed because the swf can abuse it (one of thousand examples, build over because of swf troops on rpd), like Nurse because of her a perk had to be changed because she does it can abuse too much
DOWN WITH SWF AND DOWN WITH NURSE ! so that the game can regain its health
All of this. I wish I could like it more than once, this is so on point

Yeah that can be a rough one for sure, and the high level swfs that stick together , make it rough for sure.

It's no different than a Survivor disconnecting from the match, only they dont get punished for it. It completely ruins matches.
Honestly probably the best solution would just be to removing the self-unhook attempt mechanic and struggle state mechanic. Unhooking yourself can be an exclusive trait to the Deliverance perk, Slippery Meat and Up The Ante can be reworked, Luck offerings can just be removed.
If I go into stage 2 on my 1st hook, because the survivors I’m teamed w are scared trash cans, I’m killing myself.
If you can’t be bothered to unhook me, why do I want to actively play and contribute to your escape? OR I’ll do everything and get left to die on first hook. How willing a solo team is to unhook in a timely manner tells you how the game is going to play out.
So no, some hook suicides are totally justified. If that person was important enough to your team that they should be punished for hook suicide, they should have been important enough to rescue in a timely manner.

But if this person, purposely wasting my time, telling really bad stuff at the end-game chat, or using cheats, or using bugs to somehow hold me hostage or getting advantage, I'm actually feel like this person "attacking" me as a person through the monitor, if you got what I'm trying to tell.=)
To me, this is exactly what toxicity in dbd means. Not T-bags or etc.
Also, don't pay too much attention to what I've searched from Google.

If a player getting angry at who T-bags, I think this is their personal matter. I don't find T-bags or nodding toxic.
They're not hurt your gameplay, the match still goes on.
How long have you been playing killer? I think that’s great if those things truly don’t bother you at all, must make the game a lot less stressful.

Before anyone types “use Zashin Tactics” I’m not wasting a perk slot for that trash. Survivors run WOO to learn how to loop, cool, it’s fine. It or really needs some sort of range nerf or cool-down. I know it previously did and it was trash so idk. But I really think it’s an unfair advantage.. why are prestige 80 people still running it… and I play killer and survivor 50/50 sooo…
It’s really easy to identify when a survivor is running it (though it does look a bit silly on high levels)…if you feel you’re being looped/ran too long, by someone using it, why not just temporarily go for someone else? You know what they’re trying to do.
Though I also find the perk mildly annoying, it’s more up to the killer to know when to drop chase and move on. Or stay motivated! You’ll get them eventually.

why is everyone acting like people bring tool boxes, brand new parts and gen rush perks every game?
why is everyone pretending this is a thing?
I just posted 3 screenshots here today of 3 consecutive games and none had this gen rushing meta perks and tool boxes
why is everyone freaking out?
It’s pretty common, maybe you’re just facing baby swf’s ?

Hello, I see some people on a forum clearly misunderstanding of what is "Toxic behaviour" in this game.
They accuse in game tactics like: tunneling or camping, flashlight clicks or T-bags after a pallet stun or in the exit gates, killer shacking his head after downing a survivor, etc... As a toxic behaviour. Which is to me, is completely wrong.
According to Google (I'm sorry for that):
Being toxic in a video game means - having a bad attitude or behaviour towards other players which hurts the community or the game itself.
So what exactly should be considered as "toxic" in Dead by daylight, and what's not...?
(It's all IMO)
Let's start with toxic, because mostly it's any behaviour or attitude which is braking the basic rules of this game, such is:
- Holding someone hostage.
- Playing with "third party program" (cheats), using broken or unfixed mechanic of the game for your advantage. (bug exploits)
- Playing against your team. (Working with killer, sandbags)
- Insults and threats towards the person judging by the way they played the game. (End-game chat, or other)
To me, If you spot at least one of these 4 points, you can safely say - you're being toxic, or you were toxic.
Now let's go to "Misunderstanding" part or what considered as NOT toxic:
- T-bags and F-clicks.
- Camping and tunneling.
- Playing "scummy" or unfair. (according to survivors)
- Waiting for killer at the exit gates.
- Camping the hatch.
- Shaking the head after downing a survivor. (As a killer ofc...)
- Hitting survivors on hooks.
There is 1 thing I don't know about... It's "suiciding on hooks" or DC-ing from the matches... Is this considered as toxic or not? (I think it's for you to decide)
If someone don't agree with me or have different opinion, you're very welcome to discuss it here.=)
The things you say are not toxic, most definitely are… are they not bad behavior towards others? Your very own google definition of toxic?
Most survivors always want to bully/antagonize killers in the name of “fun.” It is toxic, they know exactly what they’re doing. And tbh I think you know all the things you listed as “not toxic,” are just that. You’re just trying to play off words to defend it, but your definition and list of not toxic behavior contradicts itself. In my humble little opinion.

Now I know that there is no real defined "win" in Dead by Daylight. Most (and I think I saw somewhere maybe the devs said) that a win for killer would be 3 kills, for survivors 3 escapes, and a tie being 2 for both sides. I still think that a lot of people classify a win a lot differently though, and I'd like to know how everyone else does classify it. I personally lean towards the amount of bloodpoints being a win. If I escape as a survivor and only make 10k bloodpoints then I see that as me losing, as I wasted time for very little reward, but if I die with 20k+ bloodpoints I see that as a win because even though I died, my time was worth it as I was rewarded more largely. It's another reason why I think that escapes should count for less bloodpoints than they do now, and all in-game actions count for more.
4k. If I get a 3k and one gets out hatch, it feels like a loss. Unless I actively make the choice to let you live, it’s not a win.
When I play survivor, I care more about getting a good amount of BP’s and a pip. If I die, but had fun and it was a productive match, I’m okay with that.

I know I know, another "I hate flashlights" post. But I need to vent. You can flame me in the replies if you want, but please just let me rant.
I'm new to killer, (after playing the game as survivor for a little over three months). I'm not good at it, but I'm learning and I'm having much more fun as killer than I did as survivor when I'm not against really good survivors or a swf.
Anyway, I'm still learning a lot of ins and outs of the game. Which map offerings take me where, the layouts, gen pressure etc. I have lost count of the number of times I get turned around on RPD and The Meat Packing Plant, blah blah, blah. Preamble out of the way.
I hate flashlights, well not so much the mechanic itself. I just hate how spamable and easily abused it is and how the killer can be pre-stunned midway through performing an action, like picking up a survivor or breaking a pallet. This is especially evil on open maps, when you can't look anywhere, up or down because you get immediately -locked into a direction.
I literally came from a game where all four survivors were a very obvious swf, as they were swarming gens, swarming downed survivors, swarming pallets, swarming hooks to body block. Pretty much doing anything but gens. At one point I was stunlocked with three or four flashlights. I. Could. Not. Move. I was literally being blinded from angles that shouldn't have because two of the survivors were behind me in my peripheral vision, which really shouldn't count, but for some reason it does.
Honestly, I don't know what the devs could do to stop the abuse of flashlights. But I do think they should make a change so only one flashlight at a time can stun a killer and only from the front, not the side or behind.
Anyway, I know what I said above, but I have a couple of suggestions about how to deal with the ability to rapidly click the flashlight on and off or even during a flashlight save.
1) Adding a cooldown from when the flashlight is first activated to when it's turned off again, like not a long one, but enough that you can't spam it anymore.
2) Have it decay faster the more you use it, even with add-ons.
3) You must be head-on to achieve a successful flashlight stun/save.
Anyway, as I said above, feel free to disagree with me. But if you have any advice, I'd gladly take it. Also, in before "Git Gud". :P
I almost always run lightborn. If you’re not going to run it, try to look down and turn away. I hate being flashlighted soooo much, and lightborn is really a saving grace.
IMO it’s worth the perk slot, then you never have to worry about it. Doesn’t matter how many flashlights are in the lobby and w which add ons, don’t have to worry about them finding one in a chest…also, some survivors heavily rely on it. I’ve had dc’s more than once as soon as they realize I’m “ruining their fun” by running lightborn.
