I think the lobby dodging is just a mood. When I load in and there are three P100's and a P79 in my lobby, sometimes i'm just not in the mood..I just want a chill match.
At the same time, someone kind of hit the nail on the head when saying it didn't really matter.. a lot of P100's play low prestige characters…so you don't really know..you can only really judge by how they play. Though P100 is indictive of someone who put a lot of time into the game.
On the flipside, I have a p100 Jane..most of the time I cannot play her without being tunneled now because of the p100 and ttv in my name. So i've actually taken a character I love and made her unplayable. I'm not an amazing survivor. Above average..I am a killer main who really liked Jane and put a lot of BP's I earned playing killer into making her a P100. So I think people tend to forget that the P100 isn't everything when judging it.

I've had SO many games just today with killers blatantly camping and the anti-camping mechanic not working whatsoever. Did it get disabled or was it all talk and no show?
Yeah it definetly does not seem to be working.
Had it not work on various different occasions. A Huntress was even able to basement camp and then told me it was a skill issue on our part.

Yeah I will never understand why some people sweat like their life depends on winning matches during events. This event has been a blast to me regardless if I win or lose.
I agree! It's given me a reason to actually want to play again. I wish everyone could just have some fun during these events

Only thing i don´t like is that he does not wear the mask - why is it up?
Wouldn't it be cool if next Halloween event...they gave him an alternate mask cosmetic, with it down covering his face?!

They don't happen very often, but when they do they're really awful. Even if I face a wall while picking someone up, a teammate somehow blinds me from behind and I drop. And even if I slug multiple survivors, the remaining survivors are somehow right there to blind me when I pick one up.
I had a game yesterday against 4 flashlight SWF and I was playing as carefully as I could and got blinded on every single one of the like 8 pickups I got that match. it took them a LONG time to do gens, but it didn't matter because I wasn't getting a single hook.
Lightborn.

Oh well. If you're not playing killer, you can't tell killer how to play.
Killers don't like having their time wasted by Survivors who have to hang out at the gate, because you can't leave unless the killer sees you..but here we are.
Or Maybe, they're slugging you cause they wanna give you hatch.
Either way...if you don't like it, oh well..don't play. Or play and risk it.
-
If killers want to slug for the 4k, oh well. Stop telling killers how to play.
Do I like being slugged for a killer to get a 4k? No, not really..but guess what? It'll be over soon.

MMR is suppose to put you against higher skilled opponent if you win more. Which, if they dont struggle and win more, they should be at high MMR.
If you're struggling and lose frequently, it should be you dropped MMR to play against weaker opponents, not them.
Should be, is the key word there. I went from playing HOURS a day, to playing maybe a couple matches every few days and I can tell you when my lobby loads there is typically at least two p100's. Always very coordinated skilled survivors. And in the even I get the upper hand quickly...well there goes, bot..bot..bot...and now i'm playing the game with a bunch of bots.
Bhvr has already said they want you to win only like what, 60% of your matches as killer? No one wants to sweat for a 1k.

If you get a 24h-Matchmaking ban you have disconnected a lot before. Even if this time it was due to the game disconnecting you, you had many disconnects before. So either you tried to play while your internet was not stable at all or you ragequit a lot.
To be fair...I don't know that I can disagree with this..a 24 hour ban is very long...I have dc'd a lot in my days and I have not yet seen a 24 hour ban. The longest ban I ever received i think was like, 23/24 minutes...........
It resets...so you have to DC a lot in a certain period of time to get higher and higher..the fact you're up to 24 hours, that's a lot of dc's............be it intentional or your connection that you say is otherwise fine

Let it go with the surv blight themed cosmetics, I recently saw the upcoming event and once more not impressed by the survs outfits, flight themed or bones? Yeah cos that hasn't been done to death. Maybe let the survs wear actual Halloween costumes, a zombie cheerleader, a zombie, a pumpkin, acting as their fave serial killer but once more we are bumped off to this blight bones nonsense again. Maybe devs stop making cosmetics for mobile players cos I mean, I dont know a lot who play on such and you are missing out on a lot of money cos people here and online would buy it, but maybe make some interesting halloween costumes over then a sodding bat on the back.
I can agree the blighted outfits kinda feel like a waste at this point, but they do have a lot of other really amazing Halloween comsetimcs..both coming and already out.

I actually like the cosmetic, but I don't think it fits with this collection.
I think it's supposed to be inspired by hairless cats, but it feels very far removed from the theme compared to the other cosmetics (which are very obviously cats).
It's giving much more Hellraiser Cenobite vibes than a cat creature.
Thank you. I had considered maybe it was a skinless cat. I still don't get what the crown situation is. I don't know, I think it's just absolutely awful. And I have to agree, it doesn't fit the theme.

My very first game as a family member on TCM I was called all sort of slurs. Turned me right off playing, especially with VC. So I'm not convinced that there is or will be less toxicity there. I you haven't experienced this with TCM, I'm glad. I know you mentioned some of the disgusting abuse you received through DBD and I too have had people go after me with the most vile comments and try to get on my Steam account to continue the abuse there but I fail to see how DBD is unique in fostering this type of behavior.
I think they key to me still enjoying DBD I now play a maximum or 3 or 4 matches per day and I don't play every day either. I do feel some of the frustration at bHVR's seemingly instance on pulling away from the causal experience though. It can get on my nerves at times when I do have that limited time to play and the matches are just trash and then my time is up that I can play and I'm thinking "well that was an absolute waste of my limited free time".
I can agree with a lot of this..I really for the most part haven't experienced this through TCM. Other than mostly attempts to be toxic in game. But for me it's just not as bad as what I experience with DBD. In all fairness, before DBD I only played very chill games..so there would be no reason for anyone to try to message me. And like now I mostly play DBD, TCM and Fortnite (it's my chill place lol)..so it could be my level of immersion in DBD that makes it seem much more toxic than other communities. IDK for sure, but giving it the benefit of the doubt.
See I think that's so weird the various methods they use to reach out to be negative..I've never tried to track someone down to message them, no matter how violated I feel when the DBD match ends lol if they're on the same system as me, sure I might pop them a snide remark in their inbox..but I def don't go out of my way and wish death upon them.
I think you're right about 3/4 matches a day being key at this point. I hope at some point they can work it out, and make it a better experience again.

Wow! Sorry you had to go through all that. My ingame username isn't Nazzzak for reasons like that. I have no link between my social media and in-game identity, because some people are so unhinged.
Tbh when I was coming into all this, I naively didn't realize people got so worked up over a video game. I'm not one of those hardcore lifelong gamers, so to me it was insane to think someone would act like that over a game...I understand now, people take it pretty serious...but as angry as i've got at the game, i've never wished actual death on a player or their kiddos. Just insane.

I'm not saying there's no toxicity because every game has toxicity but compared to other games I just think it's incredibly tame.
Like 75% of the time I feel like it's just whining/complaining rather than actual toxicity.
I have had literal death threats. I've had people wish death on not only me, but my children..in detail, the way that they hope they will meet their demise as adults. I've had every single thing about me thoroughly insulted from my looks to my voice to my this to my that. I've been told my partner will leave me because dot dot dot...all people who have found me on some social media platform, because they were mad that they died in a match. I'm a bad killer. I'm a bad survivor etc..those ones I don't really care so much about..but the personal ones..especially people who went out of their way to find me on Instagram or Discord..those ones are more concerning. I stream, so I understand it takes minimal effort to shoot a message through on Twitch..but the rest......................................
You will never make me believe any community is more toxic than this one.
I can't even post here, without people scrolling by if they have nothing of depth to offer (whether it agrees or disagrees with my post).

Play literally any shooter or LoL and you'll get more toxicity in a few hours than you will in a month of playing DBD.
I have to disagree. And I am not on Twitter. I've been contacted on Xbox, discord, Twitch and Instagram. On more than one occasion and pretty much every terrible thing you could possible imagine. People are toxic in game. People are toxic out of game. People are definitely toxic in these forums as well. It's more weird to me that someone would have on blinders to how toxic this community actually is.

I’ll admit I was wrong about Chainsaw Massacre. I was originally salty because I was denied the 4k achievement three times over the course of 30 hours because the last victim always initiated the struggle and Leatherface would always run up and take the kill. I didn’t care about the achievement, but I wanted to solo 4k because it was so elusive.
I have since put in 100 hours into TCM and have gotten two solo 4ks with Cook, two with Johnny and two with Hitchhiker, all with randoms without comms. The game can be so fun and an absolute barrel of laughs.
Chainsaw Massacre will get sweatier over time, but for now I’m finding it way less stressful than DBD.
I agree. It's much more chill. People are trying to add toxicity, but unlike DBD you can mostly avoid it. The things i've found most offensive are things said in chat before or after...but as for being toxic during game, it's pretty limited.

"IMO this game is in danger of eventually dying"...
Cant that just be said about any server-based online game? Like eventually the servers will shut down, and if they dont swap back to peer-to-peer the game will fundamentally die because it will be unplayable.
I know this has nothing to do with "TCM will beat DBD", and frankly I dont care for that argument really, but the notion that the game will die is applicable to almost every other game on the market.
I wrote this after being awake for almost 24hrs, I could have worded things a little better..but it is what it is. I think sooner than later.
-
I think some of you have some really amazing feedback and valid points. And you know, it could be "burn out" for sure. Maybe I just need a break from DBD. And for the record, i'm not hoping DBD dies...and I don't want to forget about it and move on from it altogether..I want it to be in a fun, healthy, playable state.
I do find tomes and such give the game more purpose...free cosmetics to do challenges? Sure, if I have a bad match and at least did my challenge I feel accomplished.
But I don't see why so many people think the game cannot die because it has licensed chapters..who cares who/ what's in the game, if the game is in a miserable state that makes most people not want to play.
I think all the people who have suggested "health updates" rather than new chapters etc. are definitely on to something and it would be cool if BHVR considered this..I think a lot of people would be happy with that.

Don't worry, TCM will die way faster.
* You can already see a lot of toxic players there, people who will stunlock the family for fun, tbag and wait at the exit gate to mock them last time
* It has way more issues in swf vs solo department. When you are watching the intro animation joining the match, coordinated victims are already halfway out
* The way the devs of TCM deal with hackers is worse than the fact there are hackers. Oh, there are hackers on PC, well, that's your problems, you stinky PC players, stay away from our precious console players
* The ability of this game of long term development is questionable because of the setting. They can't make something drastically different from what they have now, so it will get pretty stale rather soon
So, I don't think this game will live more than a couple of years.
I respectfully disagree. I don't want to go into details with my opinions, because I want to keep this focused on how DBD can be better..but I am hopeful TCM will remain healthy.
I do agree however there is some toxicity...after i've died or got out and am spectating, watching people hold up the game ending because they need to sit at a gate for 230489203984 hours is def toxic, and just annoying honestly. There will always be some toxicity..but I don't think it's to the level of DBD.

TCM can definitely coexist with DBD, they're both different enough to attract their own playerbases and plenty of people play both just fine.
Personally I can't see TCM 'killing' DBD, it's not overwhelmingly successful enough to actively steal that many players from DBD and certain questionable decisions by the devs have had them actually lose quite a lot of players since launch, more than might be expected.
What would 'kill' DBD would be the same thing that 'killed' World of Warcraft and Overwatch, itself. Bad decisions and a general ineptitude of the devs. Literally all BHVR has to do to keep DBD even moderatly successful is to keep churning out good chapters, though that's starting to be a challenge for them.
I can respect, and agree with some of this POV. I do hope the game turns around soon.

The problem is the focus on new content though. I get it, new chapters, especially big licensed chapters earn the company money. But it feels now like there’s new chapter hype for about a week (less tbh) and then it’s back to the same old discussions about the same old problems with the actual game.
And the game is in such a bad state, that new chapters are not even enjoyable. I love events. I love cosmetics. New chapters i'm less excited about lately and you're right..the joy wears off pretty quick.

This game will not die, but I’ve definitely noticed similar trends to OP and OP’s actual match experiences match my own. I’ve noticed quite a few streamers I follow now play a lot of TCM or have given up on DBD altogether and moved exclusively to TCM or variety. I’ve also noticed a lot of killer players who seem to have packed in- I saw one streamer recently saying they hoped Xeno would freshen things up but within a few days it was the same old DBD and they, and I quote, “couldn’t bear the thought of playing killer”.
IMO this game desperately needs some form of ranked mode now with good enough incentives to lure the sweats away. Both solo queue and killer can be miserable far too often and nothing is being done about this. Get rid of depipping in the casual mode and add in built in perk randomisation for people to use if they want it.
Just a thought before I stop writing as well: I suppose the question is can a game be fun for someone after years of playing? Or is a feeling of staleness natural? I would say yes, but it’s not the game itself at its core that feels unfun. It’s the player base making it that way and the devs refusal to try new things.
I agree with most of what you have said, i'm glad i'm not the only one eperiences these types of things. Though it is unfortunate to be experiencing them in general. I think that just the no depipping once you've earned a pip, would be a game changer on both sides. And maybe killers would be a little less nasty in their play style. But yeah definitely a big change..I like to rank up and all that, but idk..I just want to have an actual match that is worth having.
100% agree with that last sentence.

DBD is still the only game where I've been DDOS'd for hours on end, had to make a list of names to avoid else it would happen again and had to permanently appear offline.
DBD is also the only game where I receive death threats on a regular basis.
DBD is an EXTREMELY toxic game, more so than anything else I've played.

I saw similar topics for years and DbD always survived. It was sarcasm, i did not meant to be toxic.
I am not saying it's amazing game right now because it's not. Like you, i also hate to play solo-q. I hate they are trying to balance game around SWFs. Game is feeling garbage when you play solo survivor.
But DbD ain't dying. And i doubt it will die anytime soon. They are actually doing pretty fine. They are making spin-off games for DbD. DbD movie is also on the way. They are still getting big licenses for DbD.
But at least they are not fully ignorance to survivors. Anti-camp mechanic is coming and Chess Merchant is about to rework.
I do hope it does survive. Ultimately I don't want it to die..I wish that they could deal with real issues that matter, instead of throwing cosmetics at everyone. I do love cosmetics, but they are more fun when I actually want to play the game. I think that for the most part, the majority of DBD problems are fixable..but they have to actually acknowledge them and work on fixing them. Games typically do not last forever..at some point, something will be the ultimate downfall and it will fizzle out. Maybe it won't be for a long time...maybe it will be soon, there is no way to tell.
I look forward to the movie!

You mean others dont agree with you so you claim that their comments are not "intelligent".
But yeah, saying that a game will kill DBD which is in the usual cycle of dying down pretty quickly like other "DBD-Killers" is really a stretch. I mean, both games can exist next to each other, but it is no secret that many players in TCM are coming from DBD and also already left again for DBD.
And having around 1/6th to 1/8th of the players DBD currently has is also not really a sign of a "DBD-Killer".
No. People can totally disagree with me in an intelligent manner. I think comments that lack any kind of points or discussion and rather exist just to say something insulting about me, are rude, unintelligent and unnecessary.
I was interested in hearing debate, or how this game could be better..sorry i'm not excited about being insulted for wanting to discuss a specific topic. People that don't want to discuss it, could have just kept scrolling.

I think the last slugged aura should be just showed to the killer. I lost pips because last one managed to crawl. I only slug 4K when I see both survivors or really need it to gain pips.
I think that's a fantastic idea. If they don't have unbreakable, or any other perks that will help pick them up off the ground, it's a waste of everyone's time.
I have also been routing for no depipping for a long time. I feel if you earn it, you should get to keep it. It can either be harder to get to the next pip or a 0 pip on a match you were immediately tunneled out etc...I think it would help a lot on both ends.

I would like to know if any of you survivor players with a P100 choose to play with your favorite or avoid them in fear of being targeted more aggressively in the match.
It saddens me to hear so many players that i know personally that avoid playing their favorite character in hopes that their experience in the game is better. It means the world to me play my p100 david king. But to hear others avoid theirs hurts me.
I have a P100 Jane and also ttv in my name. So if I play my P100 I will get tunneled almost every single match without fail.
So unfortunately Jane cannot come out to play unless
1. I don't mind getting tunneled continuously
2. Idc about pipping/losing pips
3. I'm already iri 1
4. I have ranked up and am playing my first match at the new grade and don't have any pips to lose yet.
5. On the rare occasion i'm playing with a SWF so I know people will at least attempt to help w me being tunneled
I don't think it's fair gameplay that killing a P100 is some sort of trophy, especially when it's done as a I found you and will camp and tunnel you immediately and get a good 2/3k points from this match total.
As killer my lobby almost always has at least one P100..I won't tunnel them out, if i'm not in the mood to deal w what comes with playing against a lobby of p100's, I just won't accept the match.

I mostly agree with you but there are times where there is no doubt at all that the person is doing it to be toxic. If the killer is JUST tunneling and camping, that's probably just a gameplay strategy. But when they do that, and on top of that, do every other toxic thing in the book, it's very obviously done to ruin someone else's fun. 99% of the time when I am slugged out for 4 minutes it's not because of a lack of hooks, it's because the killer wants to waste 4 minutes of my time to be rude. Their behavior in the end game chat also confirms that.
I'm not advocating for straight up bans, but something like a reputation system or something to discourage this kind of behavior would be appreciated. Other games have them, why can't dbd?
A replay-system would also let devs see how the player is acting both in game and with end game chats logged as well (when someone reports) this would make it easier to understand intention. One thing you should definitely do, is teach new players to not play in a way that is considered bad for the game. You have a tutorial, why not use it to teach people how to play in a way that everyone will enjoy?
You fail to mention survivors who crawl away and hide to bleed out willingly because they feel if they bleed out, you didn't "win." This is on the same level and no one ever discusses that.
I had a match where the last two unhooked out front of me, I downed one and went for the other and when I came back to pick him up...I couldn't find this person anywhere. I was upset because I didn't want to wait for a bleed out. When I messaged after being like "hey man why waste our time." He was insistent I didn't 4k, because he "bled out" which you know = dying..which = not surviving, which = killer won. But no one ever talks about that being a waste of killer's time. It's always "the killer wasted my time bleeding me out." That door swings both ways. I have an actual life, I don't wanna play a little bleed out game, because a surv can't take an L.
-
@Deathstroke said:
Tunneling and camping are stragedies to win games as fast as possible. Same as gen rush. They're not toxic. But try hard or sweaty definetely. There are some cases when they can be (killer commiting someone 5 gens) but even then they are usually stragedies to secure at least kill or two.
Tunneling and camping occurs in MOST (not all) cases because of the gen rush problem. It's literally a reaction to a current action that is not being addressed. Bhvr can't help that their community is toxic (apparently) but they know they've set everyone who isn't a SWF group up for failure and refuse to correct it.
Killers will continue to tunnel and camp as long as gens fly the way they do. Survivors bringing perks for whatever fun little build they wanna try vs. killers having to bring multiple gen regression perks and hope they help...sounds balanced.
-
@OneNineTwoNine said:
Let's first define toxicity, so that we're on the same page:
- Slugging a survivor and bleeding them out for 4 minutes
- Camping and tunneling on purpose to be toxic (Camping and tunneling isn't always toxic)
- T-bagging in the exit gate and or doing rushed actions to get the killers attention when they've lost
- Hitting on hook (This depends on the context)
- Being nasty in the end game chat
Any time a survivor or killer is seen doing these things, the general consensus is to "grow thicker skin" and "get over it" however, this is just not helpful. I find myself trying to ignore these things, but when they happen over and over, it is THE one thing that makes me want to Alt + F4. And I'm not the only one.
There are other games where this type of behavior is not allowed and where you can even be banned for it. Why is that not the case here? Why doesn't BHVR try to at least encourage people to be good sports and be kind to the people they face?
The killer you just demolished is a real person, with feelings. You don't have to rub it in. Neither do you need to rub it in when you tunnel one person out of the game at 5 gens and hit them on hook as they die, only to tell them "loop better" in the end game chat.
I know, I sound like I'm whining. And yeah, I am. It's because I just cannot understand why this has been going on for so long and still no attempt has been made to try to rectify the problem. Toxicity is a very detrimental thing to online games, but also mental health.
It keeps people who simply do not have the means to "have thick skin" from playing a game they bought and are trying to enjoy. I can personally say that the one thing burning me out of this game is not the sweaty "high MMR" players who 4k or escape every match, it's the toxic ones that go out of their way to ruin my gameplay experience.
It's not difficult to be a kind person. There is no excuse and it should be cracked down on.
I don't think you're whining. I think there is a just a particular group of people who are very loyal to these forums and have summed it up everytime someone is unhappy with the game as, "whining" or a "skill issue" etc. It's not. DBD has one of the absolute most toxic communities in gaming. It's disgusting.

i havent played in a while and recently have just been grinding, i never played as hillbilly b4 and i’m trying to get lb for all killers yknow so why don’t i give a shOT!!!! RIGHT!!!!!!!
i suck so bad, and immediately upon entering the match i hook a survivor within a minute and nobody rescues her, so whatever. i spend not 5. not 10. 15-20 MINUTES CIRCLING THE MAP FOR SOMEBODY. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING INSANE. no gens were being worked on - NOTHING. i open every locker imaginable.
3 survivors were hiding in the basement, i assume all playing together and all pc (im ######### xbox player) and they try flashlighting me, vaulting 50 times while im chasing one of them to distract me??? i guess??? i was fuming at this point so i hook one of them and face camp them which wasn’t really helpful bc they got them down anyway but end of story i ended up killing all of them but i’m still angry and this was all pointless to type out but i had to let out my frustration because it ruined the game for me for the rest of the night 💀💀 pic is fr me rn

Alright, so...even though this sucks at times...IMO it's better than being bullied by a toxic SWF. Brightside. But they definitely wasted your time and I'd be upset about that as well...
With that being said..I have almost 5k kills (so I've been in a lot of matches) and i've only had this ever happen twice. So even though you're angry, I wouldn't expect this to even be close to being the norm.
The first time this happened to me was the swamp. I was furious because I searched forever before finding them. I killed them all out of rage as well.
The second time I was Plague at the Auto..I was like wth..then forced them into having a fun play match with me..we all got so many blood points, and they were indeed a very experienced SWF...so sometimes you gotta just turn it into a fun situation where you can potentially get just as many points, rather than being angry. Idk think of it as a break.

Can we also mention how if we have a close encounter w killer, but manage to get the gate open...you will get downed because the gate opens in a unique manner that prevents you from freely running through immediately...

Seriously what is the reason the devs seem unwilling in this game to implement voice chat, balance around this communication and acknowledge the advantage playing in a coordinated team gives you?
For anyone who has played TCM, you know when you see the icon telling you the family is in a party they’re going to bring much more coordination and subsequently the game will be tougher. Same with the victims. Yet with DBD, the devs seem to be unwilling to do this or they downplay how powerful SWF actually is. Yes, the HUD was good for solo queue but it’s nowhere near actual voice communication.
Of course officially, this game does not have built in voice chat. But at this point, seven years into the game, this is akin to burying your head in the sand. Are we saying the DBD community can’t be trusted to have voice chat in game? Are the devs worried adding in voice chat would lead to too much balancing work? I just don’t understand at this point- the idea of this being a horror game where you’re on your own lacking information is a fallacy at this point. This is basically an action PVP game where communication plays a big part.
Also, any built in voice chat should of course be able to be switched off but pretending a large amount of players aren’t already on coms and that its effect is negligible is just silly at this point.
TCM is an amazing game..but DBD is toxic enough without voice chat.
SWF and SoloQ needs to be separated in DBD. Period. I don't think BHVR will ever make big changes in this area, because SWF is their bread & butter. Killer doesn't matter. SoloQ doesn't matter. Everyone except SWF suffers. But I have to downvote voice chat. I know in TCM some people only like to play if they're with friends..however I am the opposite, I don't want to talk to anyone..I just wanna chill and play the game. Once in awhile I might pull down the mic and give a, "victim is in left tunnel" or whatever it is...but i'd prefer to just act on my own overall...if I was forced to be in voice chat everytime I played DBD, it'd make me want to play it even less than the current state of the game already does.

If BHVR was able to get hold of skins from the movies the purge, as I think some would look awesome in this game, who would you want to see?
would love to see the Kiss Me costume:

and also the GOD one:
I don't care for the first one, but I always thought the one with the "GOD" mask was really freaky.

If only behavior would do their job and balance the game accordingly so that, killers don’t feel the need to tunnel .03 seconds into a match and have a fair shot, but we know that’s impossible.
This comment deserved far more likes.

being immune from gaining condemned while holding a cursed tape is to overpowered.
ive been playing sadoka and at the start of every match, at least 1 player holds onto a tape and its really hard to get condemned on them now that condemn is global and i cant focus entirely on them.
so when i finally do get them, the amount id condemned they could of got heavily outweighs how much they got for holding the tape.
if anything all condemned gained while holding a tape should be DOUBLED not immune to it..
Yeah. I'm gonna need you to just stop right there.
The amount of Sadako matches i've had lately is RIDICULOUS, and if anything is overpowered.. it's all her new changes. She destroys team after team and i'm being mori'd by her because of all the tape madness for the first time in forever....she's so strong now, there should be no complaints from people playing her..IMO.

I roll my eyes every time I play survivor and I get sent to Midwich by a 3-gen Merchant or Knight, and just the same way, I roll my eyes every time I'm on killer as a survivor decides to send me to Garden/Eyrie/Badham.
There is no excuse for map offerings to still exist in the game, considering how unbalanced maps are, as it just gives one side an opportunity to send themselves to a map that is most favorable for them. Instead, we should make it so map offerings REDUCE the chances of going to a specific realm.
But in the Winter/Christmas I like making everyone go to Ormond a lot..with either my snowy Survivor cosmetics or Krampus Trapper lol
But you're right and I get tired of offerings too, even when playing survivor..I don't enjoy the same maps as most survs apparently...I don't wanna go to Badham or RPD on repeat

So I just played a solo-queue match against Plague. I escaped alongside one other survivor but one of the others who were sacrificed was very rude in the EDC (unrepeatable language). Their general grievance was that myself and another teammate cleansed a couple of times.
I don’t understand why this is such a problem? I see many others say “never cleanse against Plague as it denies her her power”. Whilst I understand this premise, I also have a counter argument; with Plague you have one of two choices: cleanse and allow her use of Corrupt Purge but this means you can be healthy (two health states), or don’t cleanse but you’ll be injured for pretty much the entire game and she can one-shot down you. I’m not sure which is better or worse?
Also, sometimes you have to cleanse. For example, if you’re going for a hook rescue and she’s camping.
what’re everyone’s thoughts?
Plague main 🖐️
So you mostly already nailed it in your own feedback.
To me it's comical that people "don't cleanse to deny Plague her power."
I've 4k'd teams that didn't cleanse. It doesn't make you unconquerable.
You need to keep in mind also, that as you stated if you do not cleanse..you are one hit down..if Plague is using iri add-ons, there is one that shows your aura anytime you vomit. So now you are one hit down and she knows where you are.
If a team overly cleanses tbh I find it very annoying. I have to constantly re-infect them, and it gives me my corrupt at times I don't necessarily need or want it.
I personally don't even use corrupt that much...if a survivor is holding a strong loop and there is a fountain nearby, i'll grab it. Or if there are multiple survs together injured...or if it's near mid to end game and someone is grabbing a save...then one person gets injured and the other must waste time mending. But I won't ever go out of my way to grab corrupt purge.
It truly depends on your playstyle and your own preference. I wouldn't be influenced by everyone else on the team.
When I play against Plague, I personally cleanse. I don't want to be one hit down..i'd rather try to steer clear when I know she has her corrupt.

You can get all 4k's and still not be having fun. It's possible. It's because you have to deal with constant toxicity and no room for error to acquire those 4k's after a certain point.
Just some friendly advice from someone who knows what it's like:
I used to (I say this in past tense but idk tbh) be a super sweaty killer. And like you, the game isn't fun for me. I started playing a lot of surv, mostly because I stream it..but it's also nice to see things from both sides.
I also get mad at things like tbagging, and clickers, and just all kinds of various forms of BMing..unfortunately, it will likely never stop. So try to adjust your mindset, even though it's hard.
Anyway...when I play now...I just want to chill, I have close to 5k kills in the short time i've been addicted, so I realize the majority of the survivors I face are very good. And when you have 4 very good survivors in a SWF. It's not a good time.
However...I choose not to sweat now..I just let the match unfold naturally, I make it a point to try not to camp or tunnel (even though I know this will lose me my perfect 4k)..and because I realize how hard it is to actually survive as a survivor now..I'm a lot more lenient...if a surv does something I deem cute or adorable..prob gonna let them live...I had a surv I wanted to let go, but once she trusted me and came over..her teammates thought they could too and all came out...at that point, I would've felt bad killing them...so I just let them all go.
I don't slug for the 4k (unless a team is super toxic) so i'm okay w the last person getting hatch or giving the gate....it's a more positive gameplay. If they are toxic however, I will be toxic back. But only if someone or a team is blatantly going out of their way JUST to be toxic.
I'm not telling you how to play, but suggesting casual gameplay as killer is just a better experience. It improved my overall killer experience. I still 3/4k, sometimes effortlessly..but tbh if it seems too easy, I assume i've been mismatched and typically get hooks and let them all go..I have no business facing baby survs. GL, try not to let it get to you.

But would he be a survivor tho...? Seems like more of a Killer to me. Either way, I would love to see him in the game.
JDM version of course.

I've been attempting to play more off-meta builds and play more fairly for survivors. This usually involves a combination of trying to hook every survivor at least once, and sometimes letting them all escape even though I had multiple chances to kill one of them. I'm amazed at how many survivor streams or EGC I see where, even though I played in a totally weird way and didn't pick up and kill someone, they still think I was playing toxic, tunneling, or any number of things. The gameplay changes from game to game, and if you get unhooked and go for a body block, yes, I'm going to hit you and/or down you. BUT, I might leave you to sit there for a while and go chase someone else. Every time, without fail, survivors never question WHY I'm leaving them down, they simply think I'm "slugging" rather than giving them a second chance to get recovered after a stupid play. For all the complaining survivors make about killers not playing fair, they don't recognize it when it's happening right in front of them.
TBH this type of play is a breath of fresh air.
I am a killer main, but I only stream survivor..so with that being said, i've played a TON of survivor lately. And it is indeed, terrible. So much so that when I do play killer now, I usually go easy on them..whereas I used to be a very sweaty killer.
Today I had a Doctor who double hooked everyone..played hard, but was apparently letting everyone go. A couple times I saw him, he would just walk away in slow motion all creepy..which honestly was genuinely creepy and more fun lol I was very thankful..I have ttv in my name and I am a P94 Jane..so it's constant tunnels, even though I do not play toxic and I HAVE noticed that when killers leave me slugged, no one bothers coming to pick me back up..though they've had time....I think a lot of soloQ survs just don't care...there seems to be no mental link between the fact that, the more of your teammates are alive..the better chance you have of escaping.
So while we are all complaning about how grimey killers are and how terrible they make dbd (which is true) a lot falls on the survivors as well..the amount of times i've spent a game unhooking everyone, only to be left to die on my first hook to a non-camping killer is disgusting. I think it's great your going a little easy and trying new playstyles!
