With all the complaining about Wesker it made me think about the other horror gaming franchise in DBD and how despite the massive amount of hype at the time you don't see Pyramid Head all that often these days and I really can't figure out why that is.
He's from a well known popular game series.
His power while the description is long it's not that complicated you just get people tormented then when you down them you send them to a cage and you get to ignore half the perks in the game. Oh and also you get a ranged attack the goes through anything and can hit multiple people.
He's not even weak he's basically the best tunneler in the game and even if you didn't wanna play that way his power is extremely good at loops so getting downs isn't that much of a challenge. Hell at the time of release people were suggesting he could be the 3rd best killer in the game behind Nurse and Spirit which while clearly not the case now also isn't terribly far off either.
By all accounts of what we know about what gets popular in DBD Pyramid Head should be up there with Wesker, Blight and Huntress and yet I really see him maybe once a week.
Thoughts on why this is?
Consider yourself lucky. Pyramid Head is one of the killers I get multiple matches a day of. I would prefer not to see him so much.

Anyone ever seem to be getting trashed as killer lately? It’s been rough. ???
Yeah I switched to playing surv for the most part. Killer isn't fun anymore. I noticed a lot of high MMR killers that I know, have also stopped playing killer. Bhvr only wants killers at high mmr to win what was it, 60% of matches? I'm good with all the gen rushing, click clik, navy seal squads and tbags.

Right now Singularity's power is extremely easy to counter. Survivors have a constant stream of EMPs to use and even if one gets slipstreamed he gets rid of it pretty much on spot, often during chase. That makes Singularity a basic m1 killer with ability to look around from blocked pods. Now really fun.
It's not an easy match when you're playing SoloQ. I think we need to remember there is a whole group of people not playing killer or SWF, and the game doesn't have to be any harder for them.
He is a strong killer, the EMPs are not making the game as hard as you think. I've used one mid chase and still went down. It's not that hard to outplay it.

With the implementation of secondary items, i have came up with the idea of voodoo dolls
As a killer main- the power of killers is undeniably strong and in some cases have no arguable counter, Which is why ive come up with the grasp of voodoo dolls.
Voodoo dolls are secondary items that are only activated once survivors are within range of a boon totem. If a survivor is inside boon totems range- Any hit with a special attack is null- and the voodoo doll is consumed with a animation
I feel like this offers a counter between some killers that are really overpowered with their abilitys and special attacks, And they can actively stop survivors from even using voodoo dolls by making sure dull totems arent blessed… so fair counterplay for them
Overall this was just a function i think could be added to make more diverse plays in my opinion.
NOTES
-a voodoo doll that blocks a special attack completely takes the hit, so does not take ANY health state from survivor
-voodoo doll upon used does not grant speed burst as you would normally get when a killer hits you,
-voodoo doll wont activate until within a booms range
-I dont know how survivors should obtain voodoo dolls- But i like the generic idea that they could craft them throughout the trial or use builds to summon them.
So you just recreated dead hard, but in voodoo doll form?
The voodoo doll theory is fascinating..but perhaps used for something else. A bunch of survivors running around with an extra hit tool, is really not needed right now...

First of all, I think most of us agree this perk is unbalanced and it is affecting negatively the game. My intention is not destroy the perk, but limit its use. My suggestion:
Begin the match with 4 tokens.
Each time you start a chase, windows of opportunities allows you to see all windows and pallets 24 meters from you during 16/20/24 seconds, and one token is consumed.
What do you think?
I think it's a really annoying perk, and you can almost always tell when someone is running it...idk that it needs to be fixed or altered though. Pallets eventually run out...though God loop window tiles, still exist..I guess you gotta just know when to drop chase or mind game.

I find this to be accurate. When i'm playing against someone with a hidden name or a row of stars (****), it tends to end up being a miserable experience. I will leave a lobby with those names. Not always if it's a hidden name, but if it's the second..i'm out.

After going against him over and over and over again, I hate how he's being used to camp..and then being told, they're "not camping" they're "checking the cameras." So they hook you, stay there and check the cameras....which apparently is fair gameplay for him...? Idk, it's not a lot of fun.

Killer is high risk, virtually no reward. You spend an inordinate amount of time setting up pods, so that you can... powerlessly watch survivors repairing gens on the other side of the map while you stand there like a lemon doing nothing.
When I played against him, I had virtually constant access to EMPs, the killer tried to maintain pressure on the gen I was repairing, but every time I got slipstreamed, I popped the EMP, then grabbed the freshly printed EMP from the nearest printer.
He can't really 3 gen, at all. He can slow down your repairs as you waste a bit of time fetching new EMPs, which makes the game take slightly longer, but he's powerless at actually defending them if you simply walk away from the gen for a bit.
It took 1 game as a survivor to master EMPs thanks to the new infinite inventory feature. If there's a way to master him as a killer (doubtful as even the worst survivors can flawlessly counter his power), he must have a steeper learning curve than Nurse.
I thought he can transport after viewing you in the cameras?

When he shoots the thing on your back (sorry for my lack of proper terminology throughout this, describing his powers) or you start with it..what exactly does it do?
That is called a slipstream, and having it can cause disaster in a chase. When infected with it, it gives him the ability to teleport right on top of you via getting "slipstreamed" by a pod again, or getting directly hit by his gun (do note he can't inflict slipstream with his gun, only with pods). Doing so puts him in an overclock state, where his interaction speed (breaking, vaulting) gets buffed by 75% and he becomes immune to pallets; dropping one on him will destroy the pallet, no stun will occur, but he is slowed down (like to 20% movement speed) for a few seconds. You're going to get hit if this happens anyway, unless he broke it because he teleported under it, so if he's in this state don't drop, just run and hope he wildly swings expecting a drop and comes up short, and if you predrop it will be destroed as fast as you can drop it. You can tell if he's in overclock because he'll be glowing green. Staying close (6m) to another survivor will spread slipstream to them after 2s.
And it seems that with the thing from the printer box, you can get it off of your back..as well as destroy the pods on the walls?
Those are EMPs. They will cure the slipstream of you and anyone in range, as well as temporarily disable any biopods in range's ability to infect you with slipstream. He can still see through them, just not infect you with them! Normally they're in this state for 60 seconds, but an addon can drop that to 51 seconds. Recently removing the slipstream does not give you invulnerability to it at all, you could EMP it and be instantly reinfected again.
Thank you so much, this information was so helpful! Gave me such a better understanding when playing against him over and over and over last night lol

since surv MMR is based solely on whether or not you escape, doing a lot of challenges that involve aggro-ing the killer and subsequently getting hooked (get chased for 120 seconds, palette stun the killer, etc.) dropped my MMR to a level where survivors escape less, and that snowballed to drop my MMR to a level where survivors never escape, no matter how bad the killer is. Now I'm at the point where I'm the only one doing gens, and I'm constantly getting left on first hook until I die, while the other survivors spend the entire match hiding in lockers.
I'm getting matched against the noob-est M1 killers, but my fellow survivors are even worse. Last match I chased an injured Feng in a giant circle around the map trying to heal her and never was able to catch up to her, only for her to run back to the killer and immediately get downed.
As a killer, MMR works great; if I get stomped a bunch, and my MMR drops, then the game gets easier because I get lower MMR survivors, and I can bring my MMR back up again. But as a survivor, my MMR depends on how good my team is, and the more it drops, the worse my team is. So even if I solo repair 3 gens and heal 3 teammates, if we don't open the gates that counts as a loss and lowers my MMR. ☹️
I wonder if the devs have ever tried playing the game as a test solo survivor with a rock-bottom zero MMR to see how the game plays solo at that level and see if they can get out of that hole.
It's terrible. I often get teams like this as well, feel free to play with me anytime. My name is the same as my name here, except with ttv on the end.

A lot of Jane outfits are so pretty she deffo deserves more love!! And yeah I just think a cycle of cosmetics would be nice and like they'd always come back just have limited time to buy each time around.
Jane..for sure!! ❤️ I think the limited time rotation for tome ones is a great idea! I know a lot of people were upset when they started doing limited time outfits, but I really didn't think it was a huge deal. There was an outfit or two I wished I had got around Christmas time, but no biggie..I know it'll be back next holiday season.

Regardless thank you for the people who responded reasonably and made good points such as people who haven't played as long getting access to skins and such.
I understand what you meant in your initial post...I partially agree with it, it takes a lot of playtime to earn the outfits and perhaps, they shouldn't be something you can just go pay to buy. I do kind of agree with that tbh. At the same time, I wish the pink Jane head from some time ago would make it's way to the store..*sigh*

Losing pips is ridiculous and shouldn't exist. Once you earn it, it should be yours to keep. Make earning the next one hard if games are bad. I hope eventually they change this....

If we put aside the killers who camp, slugg, tunnel, from the beginning just for fun because they have a few things to prove to themselves, what I want to talk about is mainly related to the endgame chat...
Two case,
One time, at survivor, I faced a Blight, who... give us a hard times, but I survived with the gate open, I was the only one who survive, The killer say a "Gg" and, me, with some sort of habit, when I got a good team or face a good killer, I just say "well play everyone"
And there, the Blight respond that "No I don't think so, you are just so weak, you are nothing, I just let you live, you are just so stupid like the other"
I think it was... Kinda pathetic this reaction, like, we have done all gen, all the team help each other, in healing, all gen done... So, why? Why react like that? Like we are just some piece of ######### and we are nothing more than some amusement for a guy with a giant ego?
The second one is against some survivor, who, in game chat, insult each other because I let one of them survive... I got a hard time against the two other, one who are very good at looping, the other, just there for trying to bully, so, in the end, it left just two survivor at death hook, and, in the game chat, the feng and the nea just insult each other because one got the escape and the other not, saying thing like "you did nothing, you don't deserve escape"
Why... not just chilling and playing a game with some zenitude? Guy's... Chill... It's a videogame, it's technically something where you can decompress from your day...
Please, be more calm, don't forget that you are not alone here, everybody have some problem, some hard day, but we are here for having fun, killer or survivor, everyone, try to be a little more calm, and I'm pretty sure that a lot of problem in the community gonna be resolved
Thank you for reading me, and have a good day!
Sounds very toxic IMO...the fact that was their reaction to what you said, is gross. I've really started to question the mental health of some people playing games lately. I honestly go pretty hard for DBD, when it comes to "gaming," I play it about 90% of my gaming time. I have my chat set to "friends only" because I can't deal with the toxicity on both sides. It seems someone is always unhappy, a surv will feel you didn't do this or that right and the killer will say whatever...tbh I didn't get many killer messages...but I'm a killer main so....
Lately i've been playing more Survivor and i'll tell you a few days ago, I had a Huntress on Coldwind..who tunneled me off a hook at 5 gens..when I was unhooked from first hook..she chased me across the map, redowned me and hooked me. I just let myself die on hook at that point, she was on the other side of the wall anyway..camping....I was live streaming at the time, by the time I finished the next match..they came into my chat said "I was Huntress in the other match, GG." I didn't respond, because I didn't have anything nice to say, and I like to keep my stream positive. They then wished me GL on my other games, I did the same. But like....??? They played like that and then came to tell me GG. I didn't even get to play because they tunneled me out so fast.
The other night, my Fiancé was playing Evil Dead...the headset was plugged in, but he wasn't using it....at the beginning of the match, a surv wandered off by themselves and was killed..I could see a person was talking on mic over and over non stop, but that no one else was talking..so out of curiosity, I picked up his headset and put it on..and this man was just rambling over and over cursing everything, saying the most disgusting, vile things I can't repeat..because HE went off alone and DIED 2 minutes into the game and hadnt been revived yet....the level of non stop crazy that came from him the rest of the match, is what really started to make me concerned about the mental state of some of these people...I guess you have to just try to take it all with a grain of salt, but I know it's hard. People need to learn to control the things they say to others.

It does suck, but assuming you are not someone who frequently dc's...the ban is almost nothing....it only increases if you dc often. So if you're having long bans when your network crashes, is it because you also dc from the game (intentionally) often? I'm not shaming it..just saying..unless you have super bad internet, the first ban is under a minute I believe.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but to me this community has made this game unbearable. I havent been playing recently because the games are just way too sweaty and unfun. There was one point where i was just running 0 perks as survivor just so i wouldnt be seen as being a sweatlord but i was still getting games of camping tunneling slugging 3 genning. Killer usually goes alright but thats mainly because i don’t sweat and let people go depending on how the match goes. But as survivor the games are just miserable. Just like that slugging skull merchant game i posted about a while back.
The community cares way too much about winning games instead of having fun. I started out in july of 2021 and back then it was so much fun. This was when i was using stealth alot because i was scared out of my mind. The game felt like horror to me. Especially on maps like hawkins (RIP). Bhvr has some stuff that made this game less horror, however the communities obsession both survivors and killer with winning. Doing everything such as using unfun boring playstyles or bring the most meta of meta perks and loadouts like bringing brand new parts or when everyone was bringing dead hard.
Also just how rude people in this community can be too. I had one match vs a nemesis that was tunneling me off the hook at 4 gens and i got put back on the hook again and started camping next to the hook. Well i just missed my both skill checks and went next. I went to a streamers chat who was my teammate to tell him “hey i was getting tunneled, i didnt want to stay in the match but i wish you the best of luck in your future games” just for the ttv to say a bunch of rude stuff like how “i played like a bot, i was the most pathetic p100 player, how i should uninstall, and how the macmillan was op and how i should have played better, that i got tunneled because i suck”. Not only was that nemesis player already playing unfun but then you got the ttv that just wants to be rude to chat for no reason. It got so bad that the next team that joined his lobby left because they saw how he was on stream
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/COX49D51JAY7/20b1d09a-0edf-474d-b2ca-1975a53d81b0.jpeg
I hate this community, taking a game this seriously where if you lose its like the end of the world and this “must win at all cost” mentality too.
sorry for my rant, the devs make some questionable decisions (especially with almost every single chapter is a dumpster fire) but to me its the players fault for how this game has turned out
Tbh I've been saying this for a long time. BHVR can only control things so much, they can't stop players from being toxic...but players can stop being toxic, but instead they pretend to be decent people here...twitter...discord..wherever, and then go play as disgusting as possible.
I'm sorry to hear about your ttv experience...that's so rude and i'm glad everyone saw that and left. Tunnels happen no matter what and at times there is no way to outplay them..it has nothing to do w skill. And you were probably tunneled for being a p100 in the first place...some sort of sick victory for the killer, even though they played unfair to get it. I've had teammates step in to take a hook for me and still the killer insists on tunneling me out instead.
I don't want to take away from your post or story, but I have a similar story..I stream on twitch..so my name has ttv in it..last night I was playing w another ttv..I wasn't streaming, but they were..and I naively thought like oh cool, we're both streamers. Yay this should be a good match!...nah..
During the match, my medkit ran out and I needed like 20% heals and I came across said ttv (my first interaction w them, I actively participated in match and in no way wronged them)..and they refused to heal me. Flat out ignored me and eventually shook their head no and went back to ignoring me. Later in the game, they picked up the slugged person next to me (but left me).
I was so upset that later in the night, I went to their stream and watched the playback starting w our first interaction.. the part where I was trying to be healed they were flat out, "nooope i'm not healing her..she can keep asking but i'm not," and when they picked up the other slugged player and left me, they said "yeah she can just stay there." I have no reason why I was treated this way, what I did to make this person act this way towards me and it's bothered me more than I care for...this game seems to bring out the worst in people...but unfortunately the "community" will never take the time to realize the toxicity in DBD is caused by the players and just stop......it's horrible because that's how the majority of players want it to be...it's "fun" for them.
-
I think once a pip is earned on either side, it shouldn't be lost. It should only take longer to get to the next pip. I hope eventually DBD will come around this this same thought process, and fix it.

I either get completely stomped and barely have 2-3 hooks by the time they get 5 gens done, or I completely stomp them and they only finish 2. There is almost never an inbetween. Having an actual good game is super rare. I've had a few where I didn't have to tunnel and still got 2-3 kills and those feel good. But having to hard facecamp and/or Tunnel because I have 2 hooks and they're on last gen, and they spread them out so I can't 3 gen is so unfun. I hate tunneling but I HAVE to do it in most games or I won't even get 1 kill. Gens pop so extremely fast that every regression perk is completely unviable and useless. 125% of normal Regression whoopy doo that means it'll take survivors 22 seconds instead of 20 seconds to repair 1 whole minute of regression! The only useful one is Jolt, and that's just because on pretty much every M1 killer there's no better options.
Idk what it is about the games I've been having lately but it truly feels like tunneling is a requirement if I want to get even just 2 kills most of the time. With how fast gens fly by when 2 people have boxes, Prove Thyself, and maybe a few other tools for gen speed, and God forbid one of them has a BNP. Which means you are forced to take someone out of the game as quickly as possible or before you know it all gens will be done. And if you injured everyone too bad, because Adrenaline is picked by over 25% of all Survivors, and if that pops not only can you not catch them, but they've also healed instantly. Incredible.
I've started playing Survivor with a No Mither build and even when I'm basically exposed all the time I have so much more fun than as Killer. When I'm playing Killer it's a constant battle with frustration while I desperately try to get 1-2 kills and getting annoyed when 2 gens pop in a minute when I'm on first chase. But with Survivor, I can genuinely just have fun. Maybe I'm just bad at Killer, but playing Killer is just so demoralizing in so many games.
I'm really glad you wrote this, because i've been having this same problem lately. I have to try so hard for a 1k at this point. Whereas I spent months 3/4k'ing every match. If I wanna "win" now, I have to play gross..and I hate it..it's not fun. I've actually just been playing a lot of survivor instead..sadly...but playing killer is too stressful right now.
Sometimes you can get a good group of survs and it's a fun game, but most of the time they're running around BMing and sabo'ing and head on'ing and just all kinds of things that I as killer, find to be stressful. Meanwhile, by the time i've caught one..three gens have popped. Good times.

I play roughly 100-120 matches as survivor per day. Usually I get about 20-25 friendly ghostfaces or someone else doing a challenge or daily who wont chase, attack, or do anything except their minor task. Then I also get roughly 30-35 AFK Pinheads and a few random other killers who get passive bloodpoints from their kit that just swing their weapon and turn in a circle. The y always have Beast of Prey, Distressing, and Lightborn. Sometime Corrupt Int or Thrill of the Hunt.
I bought this game to play it. The fact that 50% or MORE of the matches I queue into are these types of matches is outright unacceptable. Can we please make this type of thing a first offense permaban to any account who does this. Also can we revoke the rights to the content the account purchased as well so they cant just game share or account hop without having to purchase all content over again on a new account?
If this sounds extreme to anyone then maybe we can just remove rift challenges and daily tasks? Also remove the bloodweb and bloodpoint system so that playing the regular game would be just like customs? If players dont have selfish incentives it would really make the quality of life on this game much better.
Tbh I had a hard time reading past the surprise of "I play roughly 100-120"......I've never told anyone to "touch grass," and I won't start now but.......................................................man. I think you have indeed got your moneys worth.
Anyway...I think your anger is misplaced, and your extreme reactions are just that..extreme. I wish I had killers that wanted to farm, rather than face camp and tunnel. I think in all fairness, if someone is playing as many matches as you are per day..you're going to run into the same killers multiple times, and similar builds..seems pretty unavoidable. Maybe play killer yourself to spice your dbd gaming up?

I'm not interested in the upcoming Chapter at all, but these facts are actually quite fascinating. I wonder if they kept some of these in mind intentionally, while designing the new character...

Thanks for the follow! :D. But yeah, it was kinda cute, something to look back and laugh at now that I know better. I know people like to rag on tunnelling, camping, 3-genning, BM-ing, DC-ing and all that jazz, ofc within good reason. It's also healthy to give them the benefit of the doubt, like maybe they're new or perhaps they've got shoddy internet or some IRL drama is happening in the background (in the cases of DC's) like you never just know so don't make assumptions. It's also ok to be angry in the moment type stuff as well, because someone isn't playing optimally or fairly, like with guarding a 3-gens.
I do agree that 3-genning has gotten out of hand, like again it's a valid strategy if the survivors do it to themselves by accident. However, to go out of your way and secure a 3-gen at the start of the game, essentially cutting it in half then getting angry when survivors DC or "throw" you only have yourself to blame and are not a very good killer player. Not everyone can play the game for 20+ minutes, hell I've seen some SM matches and Knight matches hold the 3-gen until the server times out, like how is that fun?
I totally agree!
That's insane, I didnt even know you could hold it so long the server times out! That's some determination, I would leave the match wayyy before then!

I think this is most accurate. It really isn't a killer/survivor issue..it's more of a SoloQ/SWF issue.
It's hard to compare the two. When I play as Survivor, the majority of my games are potatoes w a camping/tunneling killer. It's very hard to get an escape. When I play killer, I have Navy Seal Team 6 coming in and wins are very, very tough.
Before it turns into a "Git Good" issue. I have about 1600 escapes and 4200 kills. It's not a skill issue, for killer at least..it's that SWF teams are hard to play against. It's not easier to win as killer, both really depend on the team you're with/against.

Here's the issue.
Even with her 3-gen, she's beatable. You won't win against a good team.
However, nobody wants to waste an hour of their lives to beat a DM with an ego problem. And honestly? I don't blame them.
This is the only answer needed.
If i'm in a SM or Knight match (typically seems to be those two) and they've done nothing but hold a 3 gen, and are not even pursuing Survs (other than to push them off one of the three gens)...I won't play.
I will give it about ten minutes, and if the team (i'm SoloQ) can't seem to get it together to coordinate completing that last gen, and are just hiding..I find a hook, find the killer..and stand & point. I'm all set, I have an actual life and i'm not wasting 45 minutes of it stuck in a game.

It's so damn boring. He's not even a bad killer to go against, it's just that he's so common that when I hear his music I roll my eyes and sigh.
For some reason the last couple days I keep getting Doctor, after Doctor, after Doctor..with a Wesker sprinkled in.
Idk wth is going on. Idr Doctor being played so much...also idk if it's just because I main killer and haven't played so much surv in awhile (as I have the last couple months), but I don't remember him feeling so overpowered.

The thing is, DbD is a game of snowballing. Give your opponent any momentum, and it can very easily spiral out of control.
Case in point, I was playing an Artist game where I got two hooks at once, at 4 gens. And with the help of proxy camping, I ended up getting both of them on death hook before long, and they still needed to save both of them.
At this point, the game was in the bag for me if I didn't let up on them and continued proxy camping. But instead, I was feeling merciful and chose to chase a Survivor that was clearly trying to bait me away from the hooks. I let them unhook and reset, and continued chasing this Survivor through a tile that would take forever for me to catch them in.
That decision cost me the entire game. All the gens popped in short order, and I wound up with zero kills thanks in part to Adrenaline.
So, yeah. Give your opponent an inch, and they can take a mile.
Totally feel this! And you're so right! If you have any remorse, or make one wrong decision..it can ruin an entire match!
I've done stuff like this too and regretted it. The one survivor you think you're a baby or going to hard on, so you back off and they become the biggest problem and you end up with a 0k as a result. It's all so frustrating. There's really no winning it seems, even when you win.

Yeah, like I know what I said about how tunnelling and camping sucking because the killer is doing something that can be seen as universally douchy, a strategy to be sure, but a douchey one. But the moment survivors are doing well or the killer is playing fair, said survivors just have to rub it in the killer's face.
I think I get tunnelled out because of the TTV name and because I like to play Meg and Mikaela (because memes are funny I guess), one of my other TTV friends teases me about it all the time (its all in good fun so I don't take it personally). Like at first, I thought it was just a coincidence but when I started playing more and watching other TTV's I noticed a pattern, killers (and sometimes teammates) would more often than not go out of their way to target the TTV. It sometimes feels like the whole "Ma! I'm on TV!" mentality, like they immediately turn off their brain and go for the streamer because reasons.
I have to say I'm on the fence, like people start at different places when they play Killer some start off good, while others start off in bad. NLG when I first started playing Killer, I thought hitting folk on hook made them die faster I didn't know it was considered as a form of BM-ing, until someone asked me why I was doing it in the post-game when I explained myself. They were super understanding and gave me some pointers on how to improve and how to avoid BM-ing as a new player, like this is the side of DbD I really appreciate, the side that wants to help others get better at the game. But on the flipside, I also believe if you are so tilted from the previous match to just stop playing for the night because there's no point in bringing forward that kind of mental because you're not going to play well and you'll make everyone else miserable. (I am still learning this ofc)
I have serious issues with The Knight on DDS, especially how he can easily camp the three gen from the top of the Saloon, the one on the gallows and the one that spawns in between them. I was stuck in a 30 min war of attrition game against a Knight, because he just kept using his guards to patrol that 3 gen, like to be fair to him, we did 3 gen ourselves. But it still didn't excuse the way he just camped those gens and refused to leave them, he woulnd't chase beyond the main street so we just kept going back to our boon (before the CoH changes) and healing and trying again, until we just gave up and let him hook us.
Also similar thing happened on GoJ with artist, she garded a 3-gen from the start of the game and just slowly whittled us down, all the while not chasing far from her precious 3-gen.
Hahaha that's so adorable...I remember a similar thing happening to my boyfriend when he first started (which was before me, so I had no clue)..he was like..they keep sending me messages and saying i'm "camping them," but if I supposed to kill them..why would i leave when they're on the hook?! We laugh about it now haha
The 3 gen stuff is getting so tiresome...I had a knight AFK yesterday...so I thought, I realized he was ignoring us the entire match to have a solid, tight 3 gen and only started playing when anyone was near any of them. So all gens, but 1 got done..he wouldn't even keep chase..he would only chase off of gens and then go back to his 3. After 10 minutes of this, I went to a hook and just pointed. I'm all good with wasting that much of my time.

The amount of survivors in first chase that run killer directly at teammates is ridiculous. It's happening way more often and it's always at someone on a gen.
I really truly believer it's intentional more often than not. I know it happens by accident, once in awhile..but if I accidentally do it, I immediately try to reroute killer. Tonight I had a Feng working with the killer..for no known reason..showing where we all were (I was actually doing you know, gens) and someone had kindred..so that made it worse in this case. I don't understand the people playing this game. There are so good ones, but i've had some really terrible players in my "team" today.

Why do people dc or unalive themselves on hook on the first down? I can understand something like that part way through the game when it's clear the killer will win and you just want to get on with the next game. But when you do that right at the start of the game you throw the game for everyone else. As surv I'm like "great, another definite lose because someone had a tantrumn" as killer it's like "oh look another game where I don't need to try" like why even load into the game in the first place?
If I have a teammate that intentionally brings the killer to me at the beginning, to get the heat off themselves and I get downed and hooked as a result. I will either dc or kill myself on hook.
Example 1: Today..Match starts, I start with Yoichi at kill shack..he immediately starts vaulting in and out the window...I start walking out the door, (I run distortion for a reason)..Nurse appears due to noise, hits me whilst appearing... I turn to run back through door. Yoichi (still standing in kill shack) drops shack pallet as soon as I turn around so Nurse can down me. Nurse, Me/ Palett, Yoichi. I did leave the match. I don't want to play with teammates like that, SoloQ is hard enough.
Plot twist: Played killer two matches after this and got the Yoichi in my lobby. The entity was good to me.
Example 2: Tonight...Match starts, Wesker is immediately in our terror radius..I duck behind rock, Meg has an insta chase..gets injured...and knowing I am ducked behind random rock, brings Wesker to me..he downs and hooks me. Meg is free to leave and heal and continue the match that just started, without injury or hook.
Why do I care about whether they have a balanced match?

I'm the same, Killer main, but have been playing Survivor for a breather and I'm just getting tunnelled out of every game I play. Doesn't matter if I'm solo or in a duo-trio SWF, just straight-up tunnelled out. Idk if it's because I have TTV in my name or because I have bad internet/lag but it is ridiculous. Like no time to reset/heal no time to walk away from the hook before I'm downed and hooked.
Like, I played off-stream with a friend of mine against a Doctor on DDS a couple of weeks ago, and because of my ping, I got vacuumed to the wrong side of the pallet and got grabbed, like no big deal it happens right? I get hooked, then after a few moments I get rescued, no big deal. I run off with my rescuer to get some healing, but BOOM Doctor shocks us and we all scream, he comes up, and taps my healthy rescuer while I try to run away. The Doctor ignores the person he just smacked, to come after me. My basekit BT has worn off, I go down again and I'm hooked, again no big deal it happens, just bad luck/timing, right? So I'm left to hang around some more until I'm rescued, run off to heal, rinse repeat Doctor blasts his power and we all scream, he smacks my rescuer who tries to peel him off me but he goes right for me again. This time I'm left slugged as he FINALLY goes for one of my teammates who had saboed the hook he had wanted to put me on, I crawl away to hide so I can be picked up. Only for Doctor to use his power and find me AGAIN. Though ofc, this time I'm on death hook, so I die instantly. The big kicker is, I brought BPS as a way to apologise for having bad internet and I only got a measly 2000 points (everyone else got upwards of 10,000)... This guy had no chill and it wasn't just me he tunnelled, there was another TTV in the game, who was live and also got tunnelled, but they were a higher MMR or had better ping and were able to make the Doctor look like a clown.
ETA: Like as a Killer main, I understand exactly why he was tunnelling. He saw a "weak" link and had to exploit it, but he was playing Doctor one of the strongest killers in the game right now, he didn't need to go as hard as he did. Like idk, maybe he was one of those people who target TTV's because it's "funny" to him, but it was really annoying.
When I play Killer I try not to tunnel or camp because of how gross it is (I hate when I feel like I have to play like this because the survivors are playing like toxic #########), and what hurts is that when I do play fair Survivors either DC or trash-talk me in the post-game and call me a "noob/baby killer" and to "uninstall". Like what do you want? To be tunnelled/camped at 5 gens or have a killer who plays fair and by the "survivor rule book"? You can't have it both ways. *facepalm*
I was gonna give you a follow on TTV, but turns out your name here is not your name there lol

You totally nailed everything. If you let them live or they survive on their own, you get hate mail. If you kill them, same thing.
I'm having the same problem as you as far as having ttv in the name, sometimes I feel like I am tunneled because of it...I have a really high Prestige Jane and if I play her, with the ttv name combo, it's insta tunnel.
I don't have any lag problems, but what you said is pretty accurate..if it's not me getting tunneled out it's always someone ASAP. At this point I feel like..if you can't play killer, just don't...I don't consider camping/tunneling immediately and 3 gen'ing for 45 minutes "playing." Today I had a knight that didn't play the whole game..he had merciless storm and my teammates apparently couldn't do this to save their lives, but he never pursued chase..and I thought hmm weird. Until I realize it's because he was protecting a three gen. They couldn't outplay it. I was getting bored, he wasn't pursuing chase...just chasing off gens. After about 10 minutes, I just went to a hook and told him to hook me. Some of us have lives and don't wanna run around for 45 minutes so a knight can 4k from a game of nothing.

Yep. Happening to me a lot lately too. The problem is as soon as they kill one survivor its a guaranteed win for them. You know they're gonna slug the 3rd survivor so the 4th can't get hatch too. Another problem I'm seeing is survivors unhooking in the killers face too. I understand if the survivor is about to go into second hook state or die on hook but I had a Steve yesterday run up and unhook Feng right in front of The Doctor like 2 seconds after he hooked her. Then everyone blamed the doctor in post game for tunneling/camping... but it was also steves fault for unhooking in his face. I was just around the corner waiting for the killer to run away to unhook. Some survivors just don't have an ounce of strategy in their bodies.
I just had a game as doctor where I was able to hook all 4 survivors without tunneling/camping even once. I did it a second time. Then a 3rd time to get the win. Unfortunately for steve I ran all over the map and never found the hatch. I am assuming he didn't either as I eventually found him. I'm guessing it was one of those hatch spawns that was in the corner somewhere. I wasn't trying to give hatch either. My point in telling this is that it made me feel good to be able to 4k without camping or tunneling. You get better at chasing if you make a concerted effort to get better. You won't get better if you just tunnel and camp all the time. It legit feels good when you do well in a match knowing you were as fair as possible.
You know you're very right...I have a lot of kills, and my teams are very hard ..like I think my MMR is beyond my skill level at this point, to the point that I've kind of backed off of playing BECAUSE I don't want to have to camp/tunnel to rely on winning..it's not fun, it feels gross. And the sad part is, when I'm doing really well and I outplay them and their bully tactics, they DC. So it's like a no-win. I don't give hatch much anymore either, if I feel someone is a SoloQ and their team has trashed the game/dc'd whatever it may be, i'll give them hatch.
The unhooking out front of the killer is a huge problem. And the killer feels disrespected (rightfully so) and is going to act accordingly. I always initially think maybe they're a baby surv..but at this point, I know 98% are not. In SoloQ survivor there isn't much loyalty to each other, so i'm not surprised. Camping and tunneling is sometimes neccessary, but now it's just being used as an immediate go-to. I had a game yesterday where the killer camped me, but all the gens were done..so really, where is he gonna go? And why? lol So I'm like okay, I don't like this..but I can understand it. 4/5 gens? Shouldn't be a thing...to me it shows a lack of skill.

This has been my experience this past week. I don't mind dying/losing, but I'd at least like to play for more than 4 minutes a match!
That's exactly how I feel! Like if I have a good game, still get a pip or two (or at the very least don't lose one) and I get killed..then it's like oh well, at least we all played and got some points and had fun.
I don't want to go so far as to say I don't mind losing as killer, so i'll say, if I must lose as killer lol as long as they're not BMing n such it's really not as bad...but some of my funnest matches have actually been farming, when the survivors are just super silly..but also smart enough to understand you want to play and be friendly. No one is having fun when someone is tunneled out immediately when the game starts. It's terrible.

I'm a killer main, but i've been grinding survivor more lately..and I can agree, it's bad.
Last night I was live streaming on Twitch and ahd a Trickster (who apparently had zero shame)..hook me, I got unhooked, downed me, hooked me..I got unhooked, I ran..he chased..downed me and killed me. No time to run, no time to heal. It was pretty discouraging. Almost every match, at least one person was tunneled immediately out. I understand gen rushing is a problem, but I don't agree with tunneling and camping immediately at five gens. Gross.

While I hate the phase "Your fun is not my responsibility" I do see in essence why it rings true. Like in your examples you can play as fairly as possible and there will be players that still take issue. So I can understand why people get to that point.
Since we know you can't please everyone I just play and treat others how I would like to be treated in game. For instance if playing killer and I'm just destroying them and they aren't getting gens done I'll go and hide until they only have one gen to go. If people still get bent out of shape I ignore and move on. It's now their issue and not mine.
You know it's funny you say that, because i've had matches where the killer is destroying everyone..and then i'm just like what happened, why is everything silent...? Three gens later, RIP haha

I know the solution I will be told is "turn off your messages." And then I ask you, why do I have to turn my messages off to not be harassed for playing a role in a game?
Because it is an option available to you. You don't have to do it, but it is a solid way to prevent receiving those kinds of messages. It's up to each person to decide whether or not the angry/mean posts they receive are troublesome enough to turn off messages or not. I get them, but it's fairly infrequent and on the whole don't bother me enough to turn off chat/etc.
can we maybe admit that us, we, the community are the problem?
I think this is a bit of false equivalence here. Just because some people act poorly towards someone else =/= it's fine to leave in elements of the game that cause issues. Is BHVR ultimately responsible for the people's behavior? No, that's on the individuals. They are responsible for their behavior. Should BHVR still remove elements of gameplay that allow players to grief other people? More than likely, yes.
As for the community part..... The answer is not really. There is no grand DBD community except in the loosest sense of "we all, at least sometime, play DBD". I doubt that majority of players engage with DBD social media. They just play the game and maybe say something (nice or otherwise) in end game chat. We're largely thrown into matches with random people that we may never see again in any other match, much less on the wider internet.
My point is that I shouldn't have to turn off my messages, maybe people should have some self control and not harass others over a game. But alas, I did turn off my messages..because things will not change and I don't care to hear about it everytime I do my objective and kill a survivor..or don't kill them it seems.

The internet has made people much colder when it comes to how we treat others. It's that anonymous safe screen. You see how many insult MMA and boxers online because of this, because I guarantee they would not have the balls to do it in person. It's all over, sadly. Humans are devolving into a species of vanity and self-importance, losing much of the empathy.
When it comes to DBD, the playerbase (I try not to use the word "community", because it's hard to see that side often) is more at fault than the makers. Granted, BHVR have messed up in the past (the "Tools of Torment" chapter and the whole NFT debacle as examples).
Yet the playerbase has been far worse: Racism with the Bubba masks, endgame messages wanting people to die, attacks on people purely for wearing the LGBTQ+ charms, the BHVR anniversary streams where people just type "Boring!" And such consistently whilst some people are sharing their plans, the numerous amount of bad ideas for how to change the game, the side-picking, the wanting changes - getting changes - then complaining about those changes.
There are many players who are nice and I've had lovely endgame chats with them! Then again, they don't get mentioned as much because people prefer drama to feel-good stuff. There's a few psychological reasons why which I won't bore you with and you probably know anyway, but drama and self-importance currently is often what people are attracted to.
Couldn't agree more! Some of the responses on this thread alone, are perfect examples of the attitude I speak of. My fiance and I have had that conversation too, how most of what people say on the internet they would never say to your face..especially the gaming community...everyone is brave when they're anonymous. sigh

Idk. I understand wanting to DC as survivor..if you're getting tunneled and about to get a second hook (after coming directly off a first hook) at 5 gens...why play?
Flipside...today I was playing....survivors tried to bully, I end up benefiting by getting multiple hooks...two dc...one kills herself as soon as she is hooked, I give hatch to the Nea that's left..as it's not her fault her whole team gave up.
Next match..coldwind...game starts, one person gets infected...all four disconnect one by one (before i've even seen any of them) because they apparently don't feel like playing Plague.
I guess the problem with dc'ing is there is really no way to factually determine why someone is dc'ing....so the only fair thing is to keep the penalty?

I just played solo surv, two stack, and three stack mixed for a solid six hours tonight. Not a single one of the post games did i get called nsfw names, and practically bullied by killers. I don't play like a toxic survivor, i just do my best to complete my objectives. SURVIVE. I do a gen or two, get hooked, heal survivors, and maybe, MAYBE. If im lucky, get a flashlight save or pallet save. Their reasoning is that and i quote, " You healed too fast " or " You gen rushed " or " You blinded me ". What am i supposed to do? roll over and just let them kill me? How am i supposed to play any differently? Just so it can't be used as an excuse, heres my build: Adrenaline, Windows of Opportunity, Streetwise, Resilience. Nothing toxic. Items i might run a yellow beamer if im feeling lucky, or i run a toolbox for gens ( never sabo boxes ). Tell me, toxic killer mains, What would you like me to do differently? Because i know im not alone, alot of survivors feel this way about y'all.
You cant use the excuse of " Theres too many toxic survivors out there! I have to play that way and act that way!" If you think this, youre a liar. For three days in a row i played killer, and funny thing is, survivors did gens, looped me a little, hit a couple beamer and pallet saves, and wow, to my UTTER SHOCK ( sarcasm in case you can't tell ) nobody was toxic! When i 4ked at 5 gens, or if they got a 4 man escape! Nobody was toxic on either side. Everyone said good game, good luck on next, and moved on!
Again i ask, to all you entitled killer mains, What am i and all the other average joe players doing, that is so toxic and deserving of being bullied to the point of mental breakdowns?
You know, this does go both ways though...last night I was killer and killed someone, and they were so upset they looked me up on twitch (my dbd name has ttv in it) and then sent me a bunch of messages, even ones telling me how I should wear my makeup different etc
So essentially, because someone was killed in a game, they wanted to try to make fun of me (real me) in real life. The players in this community are a mess..on both sides.
