Even if you can see aura for 10 seconds, you can’t chase everyone. You can see, and attempt to pursue …and who knows how long it’ll take to even down them, based on survivor chase skill and killer kill skill….it can be outplayed.

Also, what's the point of that? Genuinely asking, there's a softcap on mmr and you don't really get a lot of bp for a 4 man escape, no chase and no downs anyway.

he didn't have much of an audience and it didn't really do anything beyond vaguely confuse me and hurt my feelings; but as much as I've enjoyed watching the replays of some nice TTVers and lurking for a bit afterward to show support, the inflated ego that can arise from getting more than 10~ viewers is real, and these people need to be more conscious about what they're saying. some are truthfully vicious poisonous people and some just don't seem capable of handling their anger at all

I think it's hard to pick a reason. I don't always tunnel, but I will. And it varies as to why..
Are they an aggressive SWF who brought me to their map and immediately start with the bs? I'll tunnel, they need a -1 to bring them back to reality. Is there one gen left and it's easier at this point to tunnel? Yes.
If someone unhooks and i'm close by, and they disappear and the only person left is the one who just got unhooked, I will down and re hook them. I feel their teammate should have done better than just unhooking and dipping.
At the same time...if I feel a survivor is a "baby," the only one doing work, or that i've just been too hard on them for no real reason..i'll often let them go or give them a break.

I actually really like Elodie, and I agree...when I want to play her, I struggle with her outfits..I don't really care for any of them. I can mix some up to make her tolerable, but they're still not amazing. I do love her pj's..but I don't want to wear them year round. In total agreement..Elodie needs some cosmetic love!!! And I was excited about Haddie, and bought her right away..but I just can't play her, and it really is because I hate her cosmetics. They're so gross. Elodie and Haddie cosmetics, much needed!

That's so terrible! I feel like people on Twitch have a responsibility to be a good example to the community...most are not however. So i'll start by saying, you can tunnel anytime you like. I'm sure they were loaded w all the best perks, already brought you to their map of choice..sounds like they're just salty. It's weird that they were salty enough to go to such extremes though, very odd to me.
I agree with everyone saying you should report to Twitch, I do think they'll do something about it. Especially since they gave out all your info, I believe they have a rule against anything being said that can personally identify you.
Reading this part is totally optional, but in regards to your experience...some months back my boyfriend played with a ttv on Evil Dead who had THOUSANDS of followers. So you would think some maturity? My bf is very low key, but I do have a twitch for streaming and an IG account for my gaming..so i'm pretty easy to identify...which is fine.
So this streamer, with thousands of followers, loses his mind over whatever happened. Calls my boyfriend a bunch of things over headset and on stream..my bf tells him, sorry man I wasn't really using coms because my baby is sleeping.. (she was sleeping in bed w me and we were watching him play)..this man goes on about how our baby is neglected, and someone should contact child protective services and how he's sleeping with me...I mean insane stuff. Like you couldn't imagine. With thousands of viewers watching.
I did file a report with Twitch and they don't tell you what happened, but that video and every other video was gone the next day. So i'm assuming they took it seriously. For me, I was like whatever until he brought my baby into it...for you, I would be most upset with him giving out all your info..that's definitely a safety issue, and I think Twitch would take it seriously. Sorry you have to deal with this! Being a killer is rough.

I'm going to disagree. It's Trapper. They don't gaf about Trapper. They haven't even done him the solid of letting him start w all his traps, (and being able to move them)..with the speed of gen rushing, by the time you collect and set up traps...what's left..one gen? So I disagree, it's not The Twins..it's good OG Trap Daddy...who is the face of DBD and still severely neglected.

Obviously, that was not the case. Like I said, no one was going for the gates. I don't like to hide for an extensive amount of time, as I feel it wastes my time and the killer's time..so I eventually came out and just did it myself, and got downed as a result. Had someone 99'd the gates..I would have had enough sense to open it and leave.

You can't just leave the game, if you're on a team w people who refuse to open gate and just hide....eventually you have to come out and do it yourself or just wait for who knows how long.

Rancor does feel cheap like getting Tombstoned, but at least with Rancor you get a warning (seeing the killer’s aura every time a gen is completed) and the Mori takes place during the end game. There are a few cheap mechanics this game can do without- especially in 2023.

I'm not a "survivor," i'm a killer main who plays the occasional survivor match, apparently I just got quite unlucky w my ending.
I don't use rancor or noed..and no rancor and bitter murmur are not the same. One gives aura details briefly and the other one shows you the aura or a survivor with the ability to kill them by hand, even if they havent had any hooks. And as a killer, I do think it's a trash, garbage perk. So I understand survivors, if they are upset about it and message you. If you're a soloQ, it's hard to coordinate to avoid it.

Sometimes it is definitely the fault of the survivor, i've had times i've played as surv and just kept accidentally running into the killer...I felt like an idiot at the time, and it was both upsetting and frustrating..but it was my own fault.

Completely agree! This game gets reall frustrating at times, and the only thing that keeps me playing is new events, tomes, cosmetics etc When i'm sick of the game, i'm not going to come deal w all the bs just for double xp etc...though I appreciate the gesture.

At first, I was really worried about it..but I don't think it has made a big difference in my killer games.
I am a killer main, but when playing some survivor matches, I found it to be quite helpful...I don't feel like it really changes the game, tbh it just showed me that most of my team does nothing.

I feel like they just pick bad characters to be their feature bunch. I get Vittorio and the Knight just came out, but...meh. I do actually like a lot of the recolors...just happy to see a Jane anything, and Susie's is so cute.

Feels like tunneling if they get hooked next, even if time has passed...but I feel like official tunneling is straight off hook....idc either way, i'll tunnel if I'm tired of dealing with sweaty SWF's..it's just smarter gameplay.

Hatch incentivizes killers to slug if they want the 4K, because not doing so is strategically stupid - which is typically unfun for the one slugged. Why? Because not slugging gives a better chance for the last survivor to escape. The third is caught in the crossfire between the last and killer.
Conclusion
For Hatch to not be problematic, both of these issues need to be addressed. Hiding and doing nothing should not allow Hatch, and similarly, a killer’s best strategy for the 4K should incentivize killing the third survivor off instead of slugging.
Idk what the alternative would be, but un-popular opinion..I don’t think hatch should exist.
The race to hatch is purely luck, unless you bring perks or add ons that lead you to it, then it requires even less skill…
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had the last two survivors hide for literally about ten minutes, not doing any gens at all, just waiting for the other survivor to die. It’s a huge waste of my time. It’s not fun. It’s not playing the game.
If you’ve wasted that much of my time, not playing, I will then slug you without regret and find your mate, because no one deserves hatch at that point.
If I find one, because they are actually still working while the other has been hiding, I will let that one leave and on the same note, make sure the hiding one definitely isn’t.
It feels more like it allows people to play in an unsportsmanlike way, just for the mere chance of hatch escape. Which didn’t require skill, just luck. And sometimes, the killer had a hard match and really deserves their 4k…knowing if they slugged, the 4th would not have escaped. But I don’t like to slug for the 4k so idk…I just think hatch wastes everyone’s time. It holds up the game, no one plays, everyone hides.

the problem is that in solo queue you have no idea what other people are doing, their is no coordination at all. Unless one of the survivors is amazing at looping or the killer is a newbie. You will die 10/10 matches.
playing as a killer for the last couple months I’ve never had a game where I didn’t get less than 3 kills. It’s just so easy to win. I enjoy survivor more because it’s much more challenging, albeit too much.
i think what this game lacked from the beginning was a way to communicate with other survivors. Having a voice chat even if it is just proximity chat would have been critical to this game being able to bring new players in for the long term.
swf can communicate and killers can still succeed? Why punish solo players?
anyway, just needed to voice my opinion. Would love to hear others thoughts.

I just want to comment on your comment on killer being so easy to win and survivor being more challenging etc …
Idk if we’re playing the same game, but I find this to be complete opposite. I started out trying to be a survivor main, and found myself more skilled and entertained as a killer. Idk about hours but I have about 1100 escapes and over 3000 kills. By dbd standards, idk if that’s a lot. I’ve been playing about a year…
I can’t take playing survivor seriously, because I think it’s very boring. And I hate that feeling of being hunted, I’ve also always played SoloQ.
As killer I have a lot of very skilled, very coordinated, SWF teams. I know I’m a good killer, but some days I’ll have teams so good that I’ll have 3 matches in a row I’m only 2k’ing. It’s definitely far from being un-challenging, and nothing feels better than a day of all 4k’s.
I can’t say for sure, but I feel like if you feel you are having easy 4k’s every match, you’re still facing babies. Even highly experienced twitchers get a lot of 2k’s because the teams are so good…

This is a pretty fair statement.
I’ve won against very high prestige teams and then been completely destroyed by teams I thought were babies based on prestige numbers. You just never know.
Prestige numbers are a good indication, but you don’t know if level 77 Nea is just playing level 1 Feng this match.

While I agree yes it's definitely more of a challenge to win with these killers considering certain maps and very good cordinated teams can make it very hard it's still possible to win with these killers.
I’m a Trapper main and I destroy high prestige SWF’s pretty regularly. He’s very underrated. Now he just needs to be able to start with all his traps 😭

I know cheaters are a problem right now, so who knows. But I know sometimes bizarre stuff just legitimately happens…
I had a match where I was playing survivor and it literally spawned at my feet. It was a happy surprise. I recorded it, because it was just so insane…but also it proves that finding hatch is nothing more than luck. Some survs think it makes them superior to find hatch before killer…but I feel otherwise.
But back to your experience, they may have got incredibly lucky…but it does sound like too many different “lucky” things happened all at once.

…….maybe you can just tell us which add ons everyone should play while playing Myers, so you can have fun. Wouldn’t want to ruin your whole gaming experience by having the killer pick their own perks and add ons… jeez.

In the discussion I mentioned above, quite a number of people said they intentionally will bring the killer to teammates who open chests, or clean totems, or leave teammates hooked who don't work on gens the entire match (unless they're in chase ) .

It would be really bad if people trying to do their challenges get trash talked by their teammates or left on hook just because they don't work the whole match on gens.
Many players have many different goals.
For some it's all about escaping, others are more casual and want to get their rift done.
Do you think there might be problems with that now that you can see what others are doing soon? And how would you react? Would you be mad if people try to do their challenges or wouldn't you care much?
Idk I think survivors are already toxic amongst each other. You do paint the changes in a light I hadn’t considered, however.
As a killer main, if someone intentionally brings me to their teammate..I’m still going to go after them, I hate toxic survivors. It’s very easy to tell when someone is running killer to survivor on purpose.

As a killer, I may dodge depending on my mood and their number. My main is high prestige too, and I have a lot of kills..so I know the chances of getting “babies” is low. But if there’s like a 76 and a 100 in the same lobby, I’m like nah. But also, I don’t tunnel over their prestige..I usually forget who has what when the match starts.
When I play survivor, I definitely feel that I’m tunneled because of my prestige. At first I thought I was being paranoid, but pretty sure it’s a thing…
