I read the developer update and I laughed.

The Eyrie of Crows is not the only surviving sided map, I will name: GARDEN OF JOY, Eyrie of Crows, GIDEON MEAT PLANT, SPRINGWOOD, HADDONFIELD, somes AUTOHAVEN MAPS, somes Mc MILLAN MAPS, and somes COLDWIND FARM MAPS.

I am surprised to see changes to the nurse and the knight that only 1 month has passed, since... other killers need it more than the knight: PIG, Sadako, FREDDY KRUEGER, the TWINS, and much more... all this seems unfortunate to me...

When are we going to expect changes in killers that really need it? The development and balance changes of this game are GOING very slow.

It’s not the only survivor sided map, but it is one that is a bigger problem than the others. The other maps are closer to being balanced and really depend on the killer being played….I’m a Trapper main, as beautiful as Eeyrie is, it’s hell for Trapper.

If you win most of your matches are SWFs really that big of a problem? 🤔

I said “thoughts.” Meaning, what do others bring about that?

Its not a “problem,” it’s annoying at times and I personally think, it should be an option. I started a topic on it, seeing what other people “thought” about it, to see how other people felt about SWF teams.

You survivors literally pick everything apart. People can’t even have opinions or ask what other people think, without being insulted..”iF yoU wiN moSt oF yOuR maTcheS…”

if this happens then survivors should be able to see what killer they're going against for the exact same reason

nurse players would never get games, same with legion

No. I didn’t say, let us see what characters we’re going against. I didn’t say let killer see if there’s three Megs and a Feng. I said give option yes or no to playing with swfs.

  • @SmolBlob said:

People need to get over themselves. SWF doesn’t inherently mean good, and you can also use the fact they have communication against them by misleading them. It also makes them way more predictable than solo queue players who might do just about anything. Get better at playing against coordinated players, or don’t queue for killer. Or just accept you aren’t that good and accept that you’ll lose matches.

You really jumped to conclusions lol I do win most of my matches. And not all swfs are good, but a lot are.

I simply wanted to see if others felt the same as me. No need to be rude. Just because people don’t like swfs, doesn’t mean they’re not good killers. I’ll custom match you anytime, and we’ll see who’s good and who “isn’t that good.” 😉

You can disagree, but you’re in denial. Sure, some people would accept SWF, but it can pretty much be called FACT that MOST killers would never accept SWF matches. Your suggestion would break the game entirely.

I personally know people who enjoy destroying SWF’s, so no…I’m not in denial.

But thank you for trying to tell me how I feel.

I don’t mind playing swfs sometimes, and I think other killers may feel the same..I don’t enjoy playing them back to back to back…I think it would be more fair to have the option to choose and to know.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/359615/swf-thoughts

The level of dodging that suggestion would create would be insane. No killers, including me, would ever knowingly go against SWF groups no matter the incentive.

Those groups simply would never ever get matches.

I disagree, but I understand why you would feel that way. I just think if they have the option of playing together w coms, we should have the option of not playing them.

  • @HugTechLover said:

What killer is going to opt to go against a SWF? I’m sorry but it’s just a bad idea. SWF would absolutely never get matches. Lots of players like easy games, so most killers would just decline. Hell, most killers will still dodge NOW if they even remotely suspect a SWF.

I disagree. I would still accept mag he’s against swfs..when I feel like it. Not back to back to back.

And playing against solo’s is not a guaranteed win. I’ve definitely faced solo survs that played so well together, you would think they were a SWF.

  • @mralvarez said:

Agrede, but I want as surv to choose ir I play against nurse or eruption

Not the same topic. I didn’t say we should be notified of each specific character of survivor or the perks they’re running.

  • @Heytherebigguy said:

Well, I'm not familiar with many games where as much as u go higher in "MMR", the more you have to use skillless methods to win, for both sides.

Everyone and their sisters know that tunneling on 5 gens/gen rushing and splitting on gens are the best tactics to win easily in a dbd match. why would a killer start a new chase, with another 3k hour survivor, just to put him on first hook, while he can already go after an injured one, eat his OTR and get a second hook, camp him and get all the survivors leave their gens to save and tunnel him again?

The big streamers would never tunnel on 5 gens/camp first hook(unless they're meming). you know why?

Because while this whole forum protcets the "VaLiD TaCtIC!!!" agenda, everyone deep in their hearts know that even a 5 year old can win a dbd match using these tactics. you show no skill. it's like me playing a fighting game and then just standing still and my opponnent loses LOL, imagine how dumb it sounds, but that's how dbd works.

The most skill less methods are the best to win in this weird game, that's why tunneling and gen rushing are getting shame, not because of salt(well, a bit) but because literally a 7 year old kid can get the same result as.. YOU SIR, WITH 3K HOURS(looking at you, wraith mains).

So until the devs won't find a way to make skill matter, your wins WON'T feel earned. keep lying to yourself, If you tunnel on 5 gens or gen rush with your toolboxes and hide when the killer comes to your gen, you don't earn your wins, you have no real skill, you cheese them by doing a "TACTIC" that everyone can do without trying, even my grandma.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but it’s not realistic. Idk about you guys, but if I put someone on a hook and commit to just standing there “camping” them, I can already tell you what’s going to happen 9 out of 10 times…they’re going to pop off all the gens, come for their person after and tbags all around at the gate.

When I camp/tunnel out one person for whatever reason I’ve decided, I also know ahead of time I’ve just decided to throw the game. Then I have to weigh if it’s worth it.

i think tunneling sometimes is a natural happenstance and in that event, it is what it is. If you’re a stealth survivor and you unhook and disappear and two seconds later I run into your injured mate or they ran j to one of my traps. Oh well.

Gen rushing does ruin this game. I get it, it’s the objective, but how many points are you actually getting rushing gens and then dipping? I got gen rished and somehow pulled off a 3k (thank you traps) but I still got -1 after. There just wasn’t enough interaction. Idk this game is becoming zero fun and between toxic players and just the current set up, it’s just becoming trash to play. It’s not fun.

  • @TealJade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3305476#Comment_3305476

I did mention in previous respond but I understand you didnt read all of them.

I did not tbag or point or wave at the killer. I did not have a flashlight. Only one gen was done the whole game which was done by me. Another person was left on floor till death. On that killer's steam profile, other players left -rep on how they were being bled to death by this same person for no reason too.

Huh ..yeah, that’s a little weird.

  • @TealJade said:

What's your opinion on bleeding survivors to death without hooking at all?

On EU servers there are some killers deliberately do this for 'fun'. Yesterday I played against a nurse and at the end there were only me and a Mikaela left in game. The nurse downed Mikaela, slugged them while chased and downed me, which was understandable. But 2 minutes in while i was on the floor, Mikaela was bled to death. The nurse continued to stand next to my character to bleed me out, and only picked up last second for hook points. So yes, there were hooks around me, the nurse just chose to bleed me for 3.9 minutes for 'fun'.

While slugging could be a strategy to win the game, I think in the above case is unnecessary slugging. Standing over another player's character to bleed them out is a form of toxicity, trolling, griefing, or refusing to participate in normal gameplay (whatever you want to call it).

Sadly this nurse i played against repeatedly do this to many survivors. DBD devs say they don't tolerate toxicity in the community. I'd like to see if they would do anything to prevent these trolls to ruin others' experience.

What's your thoughts and experiences? Do you think unbreakable base kit could solve this problem?

And what were you doing to them prior to? I bled a Nancy out tonight, I could have hooked her…she even crawled to the basement at the end. I even hooked her teammates and left her there, so I didn’t waste anyone else’s time. But you know what? She deserved it and I have no regrets.

She wanted to spend the entire match clicking and tbagging over and over and over no matter what I was doing or which other player I was engaging with. So toxic gets toxic back.

I’m not saying you were or were not being toxic, I’m saying you didn’t include enough to judge. You only said what the killer was doing that you found to be toxic.

Also give Meg a bit more bust. Her ass is decent tho, I can vibe with that.

Could do with a bit more skirt variety, I like the view on second stage hook.

I think you need to spend some time with a real life girl…

    It’s a game. You’re lusting over pixels……

  • @Nos37 said:

On the Dead Dawg Salloon map, by the time you break all the breakable walls and setup all of your traps (where they lie, or close by), all 5 gens are done!

    Amazing! =D

    Trapper main.

You’re doing it wrong. I used to be very discouraged by this map too, but it doesn’t bother me too much anymore.

With any killer here, you don’t want to break all the breakable walls…in some cases, you’re actually helping them by doing so.

I personally, am not too big on the 3 gen, if it happens..awesome. Tbh, a lot of survivors three gen themselves. At DDS just find a high traffic area, and trap it out. I’ve found certain areas, that no matter how good the team, work 90% of the time.

And lastly…with Trapper, you won’t ever have time to set up all your traps without losing 3 gens while doing it. If a team looks really tough, I’ll bring the add on that sets a trap at random every 30 seconds, it’s very helpful. Otherwise, just set up as you go…GL, I know it’s frustrating.

it was just me, and i still had gens to do and there wasn't hatch for me to escape out of. i couldnt move anywhere bceause killer wouldn't leave like the 10m radius if i moved he'd see me and i'd of been dead instantly. only reason i was still alive because i was hiding, and i couldnt run, but because i hid too long crows started flying and gave away my position

This is so confusing. You said hatch was closed. So then you literally did not have the option of doing gens. So the rest of the what you wrote … ?

Tbh, I’m not trying to discredit your story, but let’s say hatch wasn’t closed…I’ve only ever seen a survivor still try to work on gens, with all teammates dead and option to try to escape in like 2% of every match I’ve ever played. It’s just an unlikely scenario.

I also always send a gg. Most of the time it gets a positive reaction. But sometimes people feel attacked by it.

It makes sense. A couple nights ago, killers left our lobby four times. Finally one accepted (I was playing SoloQ) and they took him to Dead Dawg. He got a lot of hooks, but no kills. After he chased me out, I spectated and saw they were tbagging and BMing…I felt bad and sent a GG.

The more I thought about it the more I worried the killer took it as me mocking them, but I was being genuine…they were the only killer who accepted the match and I hate seeing BMing.

Maybe it’s the the pinstripe jacket…hehe jk, but the “challenge” was fun.

But I hate going against Janes as killer! Jane’s are either all business or trouble..no inbetween it seems

  • So rework the entire system to cancel out one killer perk?

  • How are you achieving anything if you’re expecting people to just give you a free escape? Doing it on your own is the point…then you actually earned it.

But yes, I agree w the title..most of the dbd community is unkind.

Whenever it's down to two survivors hiding and one does eventually -try- to actually do the gens, I'll usually let that one live and go for the other one. No point rewarding them for hiding in a locker for ages.

That said, if both had been hiding for ten minutes before one starts trying to do the gens, they're both dying if I can help it, hiding for ten minutes and holding the game hostage isn't cool.

I was so tempted at that point, and then I was like you know what if the Nancy comes out to help now, maybe I’ll just let them both live…but of course she didn’t..it’s def frustrating, because after not finding them all that time and no one doing gens I’m like…soooo how long are they gonna just make us stay in this game, doing nothing

  • @HugTheHag said:

As killer, I'm lucky to often have Killer Instinct in my base kit (I play Legion a lot), so in those situations I'll always give it a little Frenzy to try and find the sneaky survivor.

As survivor, to prevent this kind of situation, most times I'll go find the killer and offer my sacrifice for the other survivor to have a chance at hatch. Since I'm not at a very high level, most times when this happens it's a shy casual/beginner, so I know it's not malicious in intent. Sometimes killers hook me, sometimes they want one last chase, sometimes they tell me to get to work while they find the sneaky sneak. But I know it sucks to have 10min of hide and seek, so I always offer to speed things up if there's no hope of the objective getting done. =)

Legion is so good for situations like this! I almost never use any kind of aura perks (butter murmur once in awhile) but in this case, I was really wishing I had something.

I also appreciate your use of “sneaky sneak” lol

you guys throw around words like hate far to easily, honestly why would I let a killer insta mori me who has just killed my entire team in the same cheap way. Either way they still get the kill whether I hop in a locker or not.

    hate·ful

    /ˈhātfəl/

    adjective

    • INFORMAL
    • very unpleasant.
    • "I don't have to stay in this hateful place"

Also, it’s unfortunate that’s all you got from what I said. Have a nice Holiday!

  • I’ve enjoyed reading these! I think some killers need to understand stealth survivors exist though, and it doesn’t mean they weren’t playing…they are just playing with a different play style.

That being said, I hate when a survivor finds hatch first…but I don’t mind giving it sometimes. If somehow someone in the team seems like a baby survivor, I’ll usually give it to them. Even though I hate the SWF bully squads, should a baby end up in the match, I just don’t feel killing them to be fair.

If the last survivor didn’t BM, I’ll typically give it to them..because why not? Sometimes I cave into begging lol but I try not to…

I had a pig match the other day, where they all wanted to boop at the beginning (I just wanted a normal match) so I let them boop and then swung it into a normal match…it was a gg, one got really toxic though and after her second hook, I decided she definitely wasn’t leaving. She caught this vibe and as soon as she was unhooked she immediately crouched down and set down her flashlight.

I was still upset, but decided we both were just playing our rolls…and tbf, she did a good job…she realized she got out of hand and I took it as an apology…we high fived in snow men and she got to live and I still finished with a lot of BP’s. I think it’s better to just somehow find a way for both sides to “win.” Whether that’s giving hatch or what not…

  • @Seanzu said:

I have VSed many myers who are infinite tombstoning and upon checking their achievements already have it, this is why I use lockers now, because more often than not they aren't doing it for the achievement, then again - I've never been allowed to do anything to get my achievements.

I think it's simply unfair to assume it's to "deny an achievement" nobody knows if the survivor is trying to get an achievement or if the killer is genuinely after it as well.

If they are outside the locker and have already found you, you’re staying in there only because you’ll feel like they “won” by mori’ing you…even though they already have. So you’re doing it to be hateful. I think it’s bad sportsmanship on the survivor’s part.

i recently had a Steve do this to me at Midwich and it was so annoying. Probably he had the same mentality as you, it’s cool though I just grabbed and dropped him a couple times until there were no lockers for him to run to, and then mori’d him 🙂

I am devotion 34 and have been playing the game religiously since 2019. I have to say I consider myself a fairly good survivor as well as a great killer. but here recently I have been placed with other survivors that instantly dc on their first down or just pull on hook at first hook and give up. this has always been a thing in dbd but here lately its seems like it is alot worse than ever before. so my question is why am I being placed with these types of survivors when i don"t ever dc and i have been playing the game this long. Ppl that plays the game right shouldn't have to deal with this, especially if they have put in as many hours as me. I'm to the point to where i only want to play killer because survivor is so frustrating because of the dc's and the giving up on hook. Something has to change.

Yesterday I was playing a match at Midwich against Nurse…I kid you not every player dc’d within the first 60 seconds. One went down almost immediately, dc’d. The other about 15 seconds later, for what reason Idk and then shortly after that the last. I was just there like…what…is….happening.

She did give me hatch, but still…how terrible, we had barely loaded in. I felt bad for Nurse as well…made me wonder if that’s a common thing for nurse players.

Honestly I don't know I know how I would want him to work, but most likely he would shoot bee's ? Maybe that's the problem maybe they haven't figured out a way to make work?

You’re probably right, if they use that theme song…that’d be fire. I think bees is a good idea, I just think the teleporting is overdone. I know he appears in mirrors n stuff, it’d be really fascinating to see what they could come up with.

I’d love a child’s play chapter!!! As long as chucky isn’t played like the twins 😅

  • I’m a Trapper main, which at high levels starts getting pretty unfun… when I start getting too stressed, but still wanna play a “serious” match, I’ll play Pig.

If I wanna have a more relaxing time, I’ll play Myers. I only started playing him the last month or so, but he’s really so much fun.

  • It would be a fun chapter, but…what would his powers be? Teleporting killers are getting kind of old (IMO), but I think it would be really fun and scary to see how it could all play out.

uh we have different uses of her oinking xd

yes i do use it sometimes mock survivors who click at me but, if a pig just goes around oinking everywhere without doing anything im fairly sure u can assume she's friendly lol

Not really. You weren’t friendly. You killed them all.

If I truly go to play, I don’t bring a mori, and I do things to let them know for sure I’m playing.

When I want to hook them, I walk to the hook, do a hitting motion and they’re usually willing. If one does something to make me upset I’ll hit them and shake my head no and they generally stop.

If they really bother me, I’ll down them, hook them and indicate one of their teammates to get the off hook…and then the message I wanna play is clear to everyone.

You just have to be clear on why you’re there and if you really are there to play. I think the match just didn’t go how you wanted, and you slaughtered them. Which is what you brought a build and mori for, so your wanna play and have fun post has remained confusing.

Anyway, I’ve analyzed this to death, so I have nothing else I can really say on it. GL “playing” in your future matches.

k but aren't there other secret offerings ?

and survivors wouldn't even know you brought it unless you used it, and take this from the point view of a survivor

a pig crouching just spamming her "voicelines" not kicking gens or coming after you, what do you take that as

tryharding and trying to kill you, or the fact they are just messing around.

even if that pig by that point bring a mori, do you really think they will use it?

Typically a “secret offering,” from killer is either a mori, or starting them all together. A secret offering from killer is always going to be assumed to be a mori. And they don’t know if you’ll use it, that’s the point…the event is going terrible for survivors…they probably don’t want to risk it.

And when I play pig and crouch and do “voice lines” I’m assuming you mean oinking at them, I actually do that to mock them before or after downing them, so I don’t think that sends them a clear message.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3291512#Comment_3291512

again im not understanding the fuss about the mori and 2 they did gen rush it and never said they were a bully squad they were actually trying to have fun when they realized they 3 gened it...lol

and i did try to run other fun builds or just mess around, yeah didn't work, i played with a joke build or tried, didn't exactly work since every game the survivors just ran across the map even tho im clearly on pig and haven't kicked or pressured them in any way possible, this game was right after i got bored and just went ham

The mori sends the message you are not there to play with them. I don’t understand how you wouldn’t understand that actually…

Sometimes the survivors have a hard time realizing you’re trying to play…depending on how you’re playing, they may not have caught on. If you’re really just trying to have fun, I would adjust your build, play style and lose the mori.

and yes im running a "tryhard build" as well since every other fun build i tried basically got me nothing but survivors saying i suck thanks <3

and no i didn't win because of eruption or the build i won because they 3 gened themselves like usual so don't go there

so why don't we maybe stop sweating for 3 seconds and run something different ? or maybe don't insult people that are trying to have fun

Okay…I’m going to start off by saying, I’m a killer main, so you don’t feel attacked….

But I’m just curious as to your idea of fun and what your expectations were going into this match?

You brought a mori, which immediately shows them you did not come to play….and maybe we face different types of survivors, but nothing about their builds screams bully squad or super gen rushers etc they only came w two brown med kits and seem not entirely babies, but not super top notch skilled survivors either….

I too want to play and have fun during this event, but at any time I wanna “play and have fun,” I bring everyone to Ormond w no perks except lightborn (I hate being flashlighted,) and padded traps (they don’t injure) that’s it. I also find a smarter one and show them, hey I wanna play w you guys…and then it’s a fun time for everyone and I leave w a load of blood points acquired from laughing and playing.

I think you should definitely start off with not bringing a mori…again, curious what your idea of fun is and what your expectations were going into this match w that build and having it somehow equal fun…

From a survivor thank you for doing that. I finally got a laid back killer, a Wesker hanging out in a snowman. He, myself, and another survivor spent majority of the match just goofing off in the snowmen while the other 2 were focusing on gens. Tried to get him to 2 hook me but only did the 1 hook. We spent probably an entire gen worth of time just high fiving for the snowflakes. 😂 I wish more matches were like that because they are way more fun than the sweaty matches.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3290965#Comment_3290965

It's unfortunately the vicious circle. There aren't many killers playing like you, most are playing extra hard right now so the survivors are reacting by focusing on gens which make killers that would've relaxed play sweaty. There's nothing to encourage both sides to just relax during the event, if anything the challenges encourage the sweaty play style.

You’re so welcome! Honestly I’ve had so much fun. I saved my Ormonds for months lol so I could be Krampus Claus..I have to say I played a few matches as survivor just to see how the event was from that perspective….

It was terrible… killers were going so hard, it was making doing challenges way harder and less fun then it should be.

Much more fun being a Holiday killer…and tbh the survivors have been great for the most part, they wanna have fun back and I’ve left every match w no less than 30k points…and lots of laughs ☺️ One girl left on a snowman and turned around and waved at me, it was so adorable 🥹

I hope everyone will eventually just have fun w it. I’ve decided I don’t care about my rank this month, just here for fun!

Why are people being toxic during this event? Wanted to do a game session with my friends, we are not toxic or anything.. But are getting super try-hardy killers that are being bad sports about the snowmen, and slugging at 5 gens.. No chance to explore or have fun with the event whatsoever.

I'm not making this a killer vs survivor issue as im sure there are survivors like it too.. But why?.. This event is so horrible.

I hope you get me! I brought everyone Ormond as Krampus Trapper for fun lol I Fr-pipped, but had some good laughs..so it was worth it 🙂

  • I hope everybody will just have fun. I’m a killer main and if I have to be disadvantaged for a month 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh well.

Just please be adorable, wear your holiday stuff and don’t tbag me all the way out. 😂 I plan to be Krampus Trapper for the duration of the event 🎅🏻 🎁

I just think things like these, are what adds a little fun/joy to dbd…we maybe shouldn’t pick it apart and everyone just try to have a good time.

  • I never played RE, just watched a little of it being played. What’s the reference?

No clue if its a bug but its in my store right now too. Nothing for Rebecca.

Speaking of bug, I’m so sad her sweater has a giant moth (?) on it 😭 I really thought she’d have something cuter

I hate to say it but if enough people are buying the cosmetic for BHVR to get the desired return on their investment the price is justified. It's not an essential service and they are a business. They might make more money by lowering the cost and getting a higher volume but that's a different argument.

Makes sense. While I think they should be cheaper, I will keep buying them as priced now. So I guess there isn’t much reason to lower them…

Not only does it take over 10 dlcs to play this game fully and have access to every perk (this is laughable by the way, games shouldn't be made like this in the first place, you're already paying for the base game but if you want to be able to use every perk in the game you'd have to buy every licensed character for both killer and survivor) but it costs the price of a full indie game to buy a single skin. Granted some skins are less than others but why would a cosmetic costs 15 dollars? Seriously, why? Rven worse now they are adding a time constraint to make players feel pressure to buy the skins or never see them again even skins that have been available all year round may now be restricted to seasonal events to get them. How does that help the player in any way? It doesn't. You can't tell me this company is hurting for money. They consider it a better way to spend their time by creating new cosmetics rather than fix the large amount of bugs and balance issues. They would rather rush to put out the next licensed killer and introduce any number of bugs or not even care if the killer is balanced rather than just fixing issues they already have or play testing them correctly. I understand lately they have done good things but WHY are you so greedy? Why are you using scummier and scummier tactics to make more money? Even the stuff with the NFTs. Nearly everyone who plays this game said they would NOT want anything to do with those yet you went ahead and did whatever anyway. Do you really think a cosmetic should be 15 dollars? Can you justify that in any rational way? I understand that free to play games need to make money somehow but we already bought your game, we already paid for every single character that comes out and yet you still beed to make cosmetics insanely expensive. This just shows you don't care about your playerbase you just want money.

I don’t know that I agree with all this, but I do agree that the price of full outfit cosmetics is a bit much…if someone were to buy all the ones that just got released before they leave the 4th, it’d be what…50-60?

I bought all the survivor ones…but, I had some auric cells I hadn’t spent so 🤷🏻‍♀️

What price do you all think would be more fair? Like 5$ per outfit? Broken up pieces stay the same price as they are now? I think that would be reasonable. Maybe people would be less upset about the LT cosmetics, if they were more affordable?

I hate to beat a dead horse but #########? 8 out of the last 10 games in solo Q I’ve played someone has DC’d, the other two someone hook suicided. I’ve been stuck in gold ranks all month because I’ll get maybe one game that doesn’t start as a 3v1 basically. Of coarse the killer of the match is going hard with 3-4 Gen slowdowns, so it’s basically impossible to really do anything. Lately I’ve just been bringing totem finding builds because I know that’s the only way to really get points and hopefully pip. DC is so bad right now ugh.

SoloQ is very rough. You can get to Iri, but it takes forever with the way everyone is playing. Yesterday I needed one more pip to rank up, and instead two survivors dc’d at five gens. The killer still played as hard as possible against us two, with five gens that obviously weren’t going to get completed…was rather comical at that point.

I really feel it’s way too easy to lose a pip and way too hard to get it back. I wonder why they don’t do something like, once you have a pip you can’t lose it? If anything just make it a little harder to gain another one…that way even though it still may take longer to rank up w bad matches, you won’t lose what you’ve already earned.

My post is in jest but I’m actually curious if the flashlight change has anything to do with the uptick in the franklins and cut coins Im seeing. I’d like the killers to weigh in if they feel so inclined. If not, all good.

I always run lightborn (for as long as I’ve been playing killer), I find it less stressful to not have to worry about being blinded in general…be it a flashlight…multiple flashlights…firecrackers…flash bangs…you name it, I’d just rather not deal with it.

On the flip side, you’d be surprised how many survivors give up and stop playing and/or suicide on first hook when they realize they can’t flashlight in a match. I don’t like Franklin’s tho and anytime I’ve ever experimented w it, it seemed like a waste of a slot.

When I play survivor..I can’t flashlight to save my life (or yours…) so…they can keep making all the changes they want lol

So you don't have empathy for people being specifically targeted by marketing tactics that, regardless of the importance or lack thereof of what is being sold, are proven to be highly effective for the business and very bad for those susceptible to it?

The only entitled ones here are you "I don't think this matters so I'm going to demean everyone else" lot.

Just because the majority of you FOMO folks think alike, doesn’t mean those of us that think your thoughts on the issue are wrong and bizarre, are in fact wrong.

Being a part of the majority doesn’t mean you’re right, it just means you’re louder and have found more like minded wrong people to follow along validating your ridiculous theories.

You’ve all found a way to turn LT cosmetics into a mental health/bully scenario and it’s weird, and yes…weak minded. But you all don’t hear rhyme or reason, so….lost cause.

Yes..BHVR sat around a room, figuring out which ways a company that advocates for equality and pride and this and that, could attack a specific group of individuals with “mental health issues” that will cause them to over buy cosmetics if they’re limited time. Sounds logical.

    I've done enough explaining.

How about you explain how the concerns from the posters below are illegitimate.

Preying on the vulnerable to increase profits is clearly a legitimate concern, at least in my opinion.

You think it "really is simple…buy it or don’t" but for some people it isn't.

I can agree with the fact that announcing outfits will be available for shards four weeks after release and then pulling them four weeks after, is in bad taste, a bit shady and disappointing….but, I can also understand Holiday cosmetics being limited.

Honestly I don't care either way about the sales tactics of these companies because I am unaffected. In fact I haven't given BHVR a cent since June 2021.

But I do respect the opinions and conditions of other people on this issue and respect their right to speak their objections. I respect your right to tell us all to "please stop" as well, but it's not going to happen. It appears to have had the exact opposite effect.

If you're going to say that they sound like "idiots" or "whiny children" for raising legitimate concerns then they could be considered justified in calling you something like a "brainwashed company shill." But they won't because they are more eloquent than you are.

    People > Profit

How are they legitimate concerns? Please explain.

I've been watching this thread from afar wondering how such a lame topic could blow up so much but seeing you make so many posts being pointlessly disparaging and inflammatory towards people in an Internet thread about fancy pixels in a video game, I just wanna pop in and say that if you have kids maybe you should be taking care of said kids instead of spending all this time acting like one yourself on the Internet.

So should everyone who is posting on forums that has kids also stop? Maybe we shouldn’t play dbd at all? Because parents should never do anything except stare at their children. It takes all of two seconds to respond to an idiotic post such as this. They do things like nap….or go to school if they’re older.

You seem unable to comprehend that not everyone's brain works like yours and think that all people have to do is say no and the problem will go away. Some people can't say no and the sales tactics are proven to increase sales.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3285910#Comment_3285910

From a per person standpoint, maybe but from a per dollar generated standpoint, it's not true. These vulnerable people are much more likely to overspend and be whales much to their own detriment. Companies are willing to sacrifice sales from normal people and exploit these vulnerable people because they make more money that way.

I am surprised this thread is still going. You're basically telling us to shut up and demeaning anyone who disagrees with you. The only reason this thread hasn't been crushed like a bug and you haven't been hit with a warning is because you only tell people they sound like idiots or whiny, entitled children instead of just calling people that.

    Please stop.

I don’t feel it’s a matter of thinking like me, I feel that this is being blown way out of proportion.

“well some people have kids…” cool me too.

“well from a psychological standpoint” cool, went to college for psychology, still stand by my opinion.

“but even though you can’t buy stuff it on stores, you can order seasonal stuff online all year”

    Blah blah blah

Some things are actually worth complaining about related to cosmetics. How about the amount of auric cells one outfit costs? I think that’s something worth being more upset about.

We don’t always get what we want. I kind of wanted toilet paper Dwight..it was cool and unique and funny. But I don’t like Dwights and don’t even play him. Do I regret not getting it? A little. Will I get it next year? Large possibility.

Is it BHVR’s problem I didn’t prioritize buying it? No. I knew it was going away and even had the auric cells sitting right there. Ah, but I knew I would want the Christmas collection more and didn’t want to waste them on Dwight.

    Planned ahead.

So…like I said. It really is simple…buy it or don’t.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
