Face camping at least gives the killer some advantage in some circumstances. And if it happens to me, then I'm out the game quick and free to look for a new one. Tbagging has null reason to exist other than to taunt and mock, and it never fails to make a bad killer game a bit worse, or a good killer game a bit worse.
The pettiness makes it worse--it's saying "Even though this gives me no advantage at all, I still want to take time out of my day to make you feel bad."
And you know what? I could "just toughen up", but I shouldn't have to. I disagree that you should have to be jaded, closed-off and emotionally numb to participate in a social game, because dbaggerery is something nobody can make the effort not to be part of. How about if, no matter what role we're playing, we don't give someone else a game we wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of?

Survivor tbags at the gates = 0 impact on your game as killer.
Killer facecamps a survivor = that survivor is guaranteed to die, will probably get 5k BPs, and super boring game for the 3 other survivors.
Both are BM but you can't genuinely believe they are comparable.
I personally don't think they're comparable, though I think one is influenced by the other. Action meet reaction.
But I think we need to start being honest about why people crouch/tbag and stop writing long explanations as to why it isn't BMing...or telling someone who disagrees with us that DBD isn't for them. That to me is ridiculous.
Tbagging is done to BM. Fact.
Tunneling and camping is not the same as Tbagging. Also fact.

Yikes. Maybe DBD might not be for you.
Why? Because I disagree with you on why survivors tbag?
Sad that your response to someone not agreeing with you, is to tell them to stop playing DBD.

The statement that survivors only crouch spam (t-bag) to make killers upset is a generalization that is not always true. Some survivors may crouch spam to taunt or annoy killers, but others may do it for other reasons. For example, some survivors may crouch spam to communicate with each other, to signal to a killer that they are friendly, or to simply express their excitement or frustration.
It is important to remember that not all survivors are the same, and that their motivations for crouching spam can vary. It is also important to remember that crouching spam is not always intended to be malicious. In some cases, it may simply be a harmless way for survivors to express themselves.
Here are some additional points to consider:
- Crouching spam is a common behavior in many online games, and it is not unique to Dead by Daylight.
- Crouching spam can be used for a variety of purposes, both positive and negative.
- It is important to be aware of the context in which crouching spam is used before making assumptions about the intentions of the survivor.
- It is also important to remember that not all survivors are the same, and that their motivations for crouching spam can vary.
In the end, it's up to you if you want to get upset over it. But comparing it to camping/tunneling isn't the way to go.
While your explanation of why "crouching/tbagging" isn't BMing is cute, I think keeping in line with your "points" it is very important to keep in mind the context..so let's see...
If you are "crouching/tbagging" directly to the killer it is unlikely you are trying to communicate with another survivor.
If you are dropping pallets and "crouching/tbagging" after, it is safe so say you are not trying to communicate with another survivor.
If you are dropping tbags mid loops or after window vaults, it is safe to say you are not trying to communicate with another survivor.
If you are tbagging at the exit gate..once again, you are not trying to communicate with your team.
Trying to play it off as "you don't know the message" is ridiculous. Yes we do and so do you. If it was a message to your teammates, we wouldn't even be seeing it.

While I agree I want him buffed a bit, he is not 'Such a weak killer.'
Just wanted to step in and correct this line of thinking. Carry on!
Do you have many kills?
I main Trapper and Plague and have over 4k kills in a short period of playing as a killer main, and as much as I love Trapper I can tell you he is very hard to play at high MMR. Once you start getting a lot of SWFs, or just very experienced players in general..he is very easily outplayed.
So whether you want to call him "weak" or just easy to outplay, is just a word game..but with experienced players he relies heavily on snowballing or survivor mistakes, and with experienced and/or coordinated players, that is not as often as you would like it to be.

Boggles my mind how someone can get so upset at something as a fast crouch/"t-bag". Then relate it to camping/tunnelling as if they are the same thing.
If it wasn't intended to make killers upset, survivors wouldn't do it.
The ongoing argument of "killers shouldn't get upset over a simple crouch/tbag" is tiresome. If it shouldn't affect killer, there is no reason for survivor to do it.
Oh that's right..it is done to make killers angry and then survivors come here and pretend they can't possibly understand why it's upsetting..but continue to do it, because they know......exactly what message they are conveying, whilst doing it.

@Wilx said:
I agree with this. If you don't get a chase because they're too busy camping and tunneling you don't pip, if you're camped and tunneled at 5 gens, you don't pip and will most likely lose a pip, through no fault of your own.
The pipping and bp system is outdated, maybe we'll see improvements to those thing in a few years.
100% agree! And I really hope they do look at this soon, and potentially make changes.
-
@Saiph said:
Not arguing whether the mechanic is unfair but out of curiosity why is it so important for you to pip as survivor? Legit question... I'm asking because I usually reach Iri grade without even paying attention to pips, despite losing most of my games. And then my account overflows with BPs anyway. Are you trying to reach P100 or something? I would probably be tilted just as you after a game like this but that would be because of the game itself not because of de-pips.
I think xPrinceHarlequinx answered this perfectly. I can reach Iri 4 playing pretty casually as survivor, but the grind from 4-1 is terrible. On the flip side, rank reset is also terrible. To answer your question, I don't have a lot of free time..I have a 1yr old and I really can only play when she's napping/after she goes to sleep at night etc. so my time is limited.
I very selfishly, like to go to red 1 on both Survivor and Killer and feel in general the depip system is unfair. But for whatever reason it bothers me more as Survivor. I think it's because as SoloQ, it truly is terrible. It feels like the killer (obviously) is playing against you, but your teammates are as well. A lot of times losing pips as surv, is at no fault of your own. My MMR is really high as killer, so it requires a lot of time to get to 1. Losing pips on either one is just constantly one step back.
And as a killer, it infuriates me to lose pips to a killer who is playing disgusting. There is no need to camp and tunnel at 5 gens. When two people immediately decide they're not playing the match for whatever reasons, there's no reason to go hard on the two who will depip at no fault of their own at this point. I just think a lot of stress would be avoided if the depip system was removed. Let us have 0 when we don't perform well enough or have matches like this, out of our control. What we earn, we should keep.
The camping/tunneling is a separate issue, but I can't tell you how many times I get +2 and letting the last survivor go did not affect my score in any way.
-

With gen regression removed, swfs can literally just crank gens with no punishment. It's honestly out of control. I just played a match with 4 bnps, in which the match lasted about 5 minutes.i couldn't get any pressure either.

They will never make any fair changes, if it'll cause discontent for SWFs...IMO.

This thing is basically a better Spine Chill. You know the split second the Killer’s Terror Radius appears. People keep saying it’s not a buff. Seriously no one else listens to stuff in the background, gets distracted, or has a distant terror radius drowned out by other sounds?
I think you're really making it out to be much more than it is.
When I play survivor, I do play with it...I have a one year old daughter that sleeps w me, so when I play at night it's easier to keep everything really low and use the visual terror radius, and I will say..while convenient and appreciated, I don't think it's easier.
When you're using a headset or otherwise, you have more of an idea of where the killer is coming from..with VTR, you know the killer is near, but you really don't have a clue where they are approaching from.
It has it's pros and cons. I'm a killer main, and I couldn't imagine being upset at people for using this.
-
People are offering you genuine advice, and you're being pretty rude.
There is quite obviously no official rulebook, therefore there is quite obviously no official answer to your question.
You will almost always get tbagged, no matter what. Survivors who hide the whole game and do nothing, will still wait at the gate to tbag you. It also upsets me, I can take an L (if I have to) but the toxicity is infuriating.
Maybe consider being a little more kind to the people you are seeking advice. They're just relating to you and offering whatever tidbits they can..since, again..the official survivor committee isn't going to show up and tell you what to do to ensure not being tbagged. They will never stop.

I have seen countless matches where the killer suddenly becomes nice because a survivor put down their item that they probably have twenty more of on that character? I don't get it I really don't if a survivor drops an item while I'm playing killer I just down and hook them they lose the item either way so what's the point of giving them hatch? If I want to give someone hatch it's under certain requirements mainly if they've been sandbagged by their teammates other then that no. So I don't get it why are you suddenly nice to a survivor who placed their item on the ground when they probably can easily get one back maybe even two from the bloodweb.
It's really player dependent. When i'm playing killer, i dont really care...I can't use your item..it depends on how abused i've been and how you and your team played. I don't often have mercy anymore, just because I usually have high level, SWFs who BM most of the time..but if I do decide to let someone go, it's usually more based on their playstyle. Or if I feel like they were the random that got screwed over. etc.
As survivor, I got three killers who rekt my teams to farm w me and let me go this morning (and usually whoever the other last surv was)...so I appreciate that they do show mercy. I like to keep my item, so sometimes i'll put it down..but usually I drop a palett and then use that time to shake my head "no" and bounce up and down w a "please dont kill me" vibe. lol it's worked well today, and I am thankful.
I think overall it's being like hey, i recognize you can kill me, please don't..i dont wanna depip lol

Survivors seem to think it's a fair technique when blocking killer from getting their hooks, so if that's fair..then yes, it is.

The amount of times I have to trade hooks or take the down cuz nobody bothers or they get hit and run away is crazy! Especially when I duo SWFed with my friend. I was death hook and I had to trade cuz he would have gotten 2nd stage if I didn’t. Ridiculous how you barely see it anymore and on top of that they Tbag at the exit gate like they did something.. Either go trade or I’m letting you die on hook if you won’t even bother unhooking. I love being altruistic cuz it fits my playstyle and I want to avoid people going struggle phase cuz I know how annoying it can be but if teammates act like this more often, I won’t unhook you anymore and let you die on hook. Anyone else also experiencing this or am I the only person with this bad luck?
To the people that don’t give a damn about your teammates, I hope you will get a Nurse or Blight who slugs you on the ground for 4 min!
This reminds me of a match today that you all may or may not find amusing...
I was playing soloq surv today and it was a Blight..he hooked a Feng in the basement and I was completely across the map..by the time I realized no one was going and ran all the way across she had gone into second..which I felt bad about..I unhook her and before we even leave, Blight comes right back....so I try to get inbetween them and realize he is intentionally tunneling her...so he continues to ignore me, and she turns back and comes my way..so I hop in between again, she vaults a window..I stand there..he hits me...expecting me to move, but I had no hooks and she's now on death hook so i'm like nah...he stands there confused..and then hits me again when he realized I wouldn't move...but by then she was across the map, healing in the ol boon...
At the end we got chased out, then the other Feng got chased out..I was like oh no, Poor Ace is in there alone and injured...i switch to spectate..the hatch opens right by him and he moonwalks to it and dips hahaha..i hope someone found this all as amusing as myself.

"-Is it pointless to use corrupt when using lethal?"
These perks have some overlap in what they do. Generally speaking the survivors always start near the 3 corrupt generators unless you spawn in the middle of the map and the white gens are scattered around the map (As a side note when that happens your corrupt is generally wasted). Lethal makes sense if you also have BBQ but bear in mind that's half your build for info. If you can get some quick injuries Lethal+BBQ is better than corrupt.
Overall I stopped using corrupt post 6.1 except for trapper and MM as they absolutely need the time to build up.
- I am seeking advice from experienced killers to indeed "git gud."
Learn to play Blight and Nurse then. No I'm being serious. They are the only killers with a complete kit. Let's talk briefly about what that is.
- Movement powers are important. Since most maps are not a fair size (smaller than 9000m²) you don't want to play a killer without a movement power. No movement = defeated by Shift+W. It's really that simple. Also movement powers generally make map size not matter.
- Strong Anti loop makes a killer powerful. Nurse is strong because you can't loop her and you can't shift W. Nemesis is hard to loop but you can Shift+W against him. Don't bother learning to play any killer without strong anti loop.
- Chase Lethality makes survivors hate playing against that killer - you want this. Trapper sucks if you are trying to chase people where you have no armed traps. Nurse can obliterate a player on any loop and it's up to you to make the mistake to not get a hit instead of the other way around.
- Fewer than 5 killers have what is called: 4v1 potential. Nemesis and Pinhead are examples as you can potentially keep all the survivors busy while chasing one player. But Nurse and Blight also have 4v1 potential. How? They down players so fast that they can have hooked their first chase and start the second before "weak" killers can finish their first chase. Stop playing Weak killers - Unless DBD adds some kind of "protected MMR" mode.
- Detection is the last attribute and it's kinda pointless. As you get better at killer you have more game sense. You know where everyone is by what is going on around you. This gen went up 35% progress in the last chase so someone is here - scout around and find them. This is basically the point of Doctor's power and that's why he's a crap killer. You get something that good players already have- wow. One last note here : fast movement helps you detect people because you weren't close but now you are before they could blink.
The best killers have strong marks in categories 1-4 and have some ability for category 5 because they have strong movement. Think about the killers you play and you'll realize why they suck.
Plague sucks without her power - compared to Blight or Nurse. Good players prevent you from getting to use your power more than 2-3 times per game. Why bother with all that? Learn to play the killers that work well on every map and chase very easily.
The alternative is to pray that the devs "fix" the game for the other 29 killers. Good luck on that ever happening.
I gave Blight a try last night..whew...he's hard, but I can see how he would be powerful if you knew what you were doing.. I got 7 hooks in two games, so I don't haha...Nurse is pretty difficult, but I think i'm going to practice both on bots for awhile in my free time or when DBD has me stressed. Thanks for the tips and advice!

What is your go to build w/ addons? We can probably offer some suggestions once we get a feel for how you like to play her. Some basic tips I would suggest is pay attention to gen placement at the very start of the match. If you get a map like Ormond you want to know which 3 gens are closest and what to focus protecting. Don't go for 12 hook games. If you know you have a tough match against you, you don't necessarily need to tunneel or camp on the hard maps. But you should try to get the hook where you want your 3 gen to be and keep trying to force the battle on that particular spot on the map. These means you should be proxying as needed. Force them to use all of their resources so when you get to endgame you win by attrition. Remember, you have the power to make the map smaller. Make the survivors play your game, don't play theirs.
Someone I'd recommend watching who I think is excellent on plague is TricksterShadow. I don't know if he plays plague much anymore but I'd go through his vods and watch how he adapts to the match. Very good player.
Thank you! I'll def check them out, it's hard to find people who main Plague or play her frequently. I've found Negoose, which is pretty awesome, but i'd love to see more streamers playing her! I'll give the 3 gen a try at Ormond, I usually only play a 3 gen when the survs accidentally do it to themselves, but maybe it's something to pay more attention to.
My standard build for Plague is:
Lethal / bitter murmur / Scourge pain res/ jolt
add ons: iri seal and black incense

everybody made good points here(i will try not to repeat other advice)...use corrupt only since it helps on every map and don't pair it with lethal and use one of her aura reading addons instead.
you can also try running thana with dying light which is more niche but since everyone either stays injured and you get the max bonus(and dying light fast heals don't matter) or the survivors cleanse and you have corrupt purge to antiloop and down surivors quicker.
if you want more power in chase you could also try your luck with hex blood favor since when they become injured from your vile purge in chase they cant throw down pallets (which leads to jolt value from your quick knockdowns) a full hex build isnt that bad with her (undying/blood favor/pentimento/plaything) since you have built in slowdown with her power
best of luck and keep practicing ^_^
Thanks, i've actually never used dying light..i'm not sure what it does, i'll def check it out and give it a try!

@Rulebreaker said:
While it depends on the build, generally you should run 1 or the other, lethal over corrupt if you got other aura reading or mobility.
Something you should accept is that 2-3 gens will likely get done by that first hook. Try to focus on burning as many important resources in that time instead of focusing on the fact that 3 gens popped. The game doesn't end till they're out or dead.
As plague specifically you want to keep corrupt, infect as much as you can while it's up before downing someone as it drops at first down. Lethal works better only for the black incense (see aura every puke)
We like running thano (yes it's predictable but..) as survivors have to choose either playing with the slowdown or giving us power pools. We'd also recommend map offerings if your getting Ormond to much.
If you want specific details we'd need to see you play.
I have a Twitch (same name as here) to start streaming soon, if you ever want to pop in and watch and give me some constructive criticism, I would def be appreciative. I do well, but the groups are just getting harder & harder and I don't want to have to rely on camping/tunneling. I'd like to just keep improving my skill and learning to ways to outplay.

You said it yourself, he is a bad psychopath that would do bad psychopath things. The whole point of my argument is that trying to draw a moral line of what a fictional bad psychopath do to fictional people in their fictional world is dumb. Super dumb. They are killers, they are more monster than person to the point some of them, like Freddy, became a literal monster. They have no morals.
"But getting physical with children is wrong and unacceptable" Yeah! We know! That's the whole point! That's why when the fathers burn him to the bones no one feels sad for him and we are all the movie wanting for the protagonist to kill him for good! He is a horrible monster that does horrible monster things. Trying to cancel a fictional killer monster for doing unforgivable things when that's the whole point of a fictional killer monster, again, is ridiculous.
And as you seem to have the moral scale of "unacceptable things a fictional killer should not fictionally do" figured out, please enlighten me of why what Huntress did (whatever her intentions was) is much less severe that what Freddy did at a moral level. More so when the results are the same: Multiple children dead. And don't forget Huntress also killed the whole family of the girls probably in front of them. And while you are at it, compare both cases to The Trapper, that most than probably killed hundreds and that's just in "the worst mass murder in modern history", as his real number of victims "is unknown".

They were "teenagers", maybe is a cultural / language thing but from where I am that is around the 16 years of age, from 13 to 18 approx. Should we start the hashtag know? Also, just because he did what he did to adults then everything's fine?
More also, you know what a joke is?
I don’t know why you seem so angry.
Sorry but I feel being a pedophile (Freddy) is far worse than a standard killer. You won’t change my mind, so I’m not going to debate all you wish to debate.
I don’t think he should be removed from the game, idk how OP feels.
-
I think if I'm understanding what OP is saying, it's not because Freddy is some bad psychopath, but that the lore implications of bad things involving children, crosses a line. I agree. I like the older Freddy movies and the idea of him in general, scare-wise, I just wish his backstory would have been something better...less icky.
I think using Huntress as a comparison is poor. She has the mental capacity of a child and her intent was genuinely to have a daughter of her own to care for, she didn't understand what she was doing was wrong and why and why the girls were dying etc. whereas, Freddy intentionally sought out to destroy children.

It’s definitely okay to vent here.
I’ve had stuff like this happen multiple times, one of the reasons I’m a killer main, it’s hard when you’re a SoloQ surv and have to go against the killer AND your teammates.

For better understanding, I have been playing DBD for approx. 3k hours now, mainly solo Q survivor but I also enjoy playing legion/dredge and spirit from time to time. And especially because I've been on both sides, I try to make the game fun for myself while also trying NOT to make it unfun for the other side.
Ever since the last lackluster chapter came out, I have been trying out other games and what I've noticed is, no other game has mechanics that can be abused and be called a playstyle by the people who do abuse it.
For example, I had a game (as solo Q survivor) on ormond against a blight. His first chase was me, I looped him for 2 gens and from the moment he finally downed me the game went downhill because all he has been doing was slugging me/my teammates repeatedly, going back and forth as soon as either of us got picked up. He refused to hook people and it resulted in 3 people dying on the ground (do the math, how long the game has been going on). Unfortunately I don't know what happened to the last of us, but I guess he was left to bleed out as well.
In what world can you call it a "balanced" gameplay or a playstyle and why does the game allow that? And mind you, I know that some killers tend to "punish" survivors by leaving them slugged for BMing or running dead hard or flashlight clicking. But none of us were running meta perks and none of us BMed this poor Blight, so I don't quite understand what his intentions were slugging every single one of us.
For context - this is the builds of me and my teammates. No dead hards, no breakout (wouldn't have made much of a difference that one of my teammates had saboteur because he didn't even pick up anyone to begin with).
If the next patch doesn't scare away a big chunk of solo players, killers like this blight sure will.
Stay safe, be kind

When people bring “head on,” it’s not usually for normal gameplay. IMO and experience as killer.

I bet there are a bunch of people who buy skins on mass, but a DLC for around 10 bucks is too much😂.
Buy cosmetics they LIKE v. buy a chapter they DONT like. Not really the same thing.
I’ll buy cosmetics all day, I’m not buying this chapter…not even with shards.

For me this is lookin like a pass, genuinely a very underwhelming chapter in almost every way.
I’m genuinely more keen for eruptions incapacitated removal than the the new chapter itself. The perks seem to just encourage farming your teammates and tunneling, Killer seems to just be a 3 gen. I pray there is an excuse for this quality
But it’s okay, I’m sure we were deprived of content this update because anniversary has something good planned… Right? …right?
First chapter I actually will not be buying.

Its tin man from wizard of Oz. Sorry for the spoiler
new map: "not Kansas"
New survivor: Dorothy
New perks:
Survivor:
Heel tap - it's the same old song and dance. Upon completing the final generator, appear at the furthest exit gate from the killer.
Ding Dong - you're no stranger to timely events. At the beginning of each match, there's a 4% chance of a house falling on the entity's servant.
Toto - a trusted companion is at your side in times of need. Any survivor within an 8m radius of you while being carried, will have the option to bite the killer and free you. This perk has a 5 second cooldown.
Killer:
Stiff-knee: you're a bit rusty! Vaulting through windows is 50% slower, applies hindered to the next survivor that vaults it. Affected windows are highlighted in white
Back-up: Dorothy isn't the only one with friends. A man dressed as a lion will occasionally down a survivor within your terror radius. +1% chance to activate per consecutive second.
Echo: your empty head has its uses. All conspicuous Actions can be heard 12m further away.
Sorry for the leak y'all
tbh a lot of these perks are good ideas 😂

You're the one who first put words in my mouth saying I wanted weak nurses. Perhaps you can fix your accusatory tone before judging me
lol

I for one would like a graveyard. Like … how is that not a map yet?? Tombstones, opened caskets with skeletons, a mausoleum like the saloon. Bats instead of crows. Omg there’s so much you can do atmosphere and aesthetic-wise.
This is an amazing idea, I would love to see something like this!

Since when did I every say anything about weak or strong nurses? All I wanted was her addons to be looked at. That's it. And that's exactly what I got so I never said a thing about weak nurses
You're pretty defensive, wouldn't it have been easier to say something like..
"I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say"...? Have a nice day, stay salty.

Crazy cause that's the exact same argument for old DH. It's like you guys actively forget the arguments you came up with barely a few months ago
Idk what this “you guys” and “arguments we” came up w are. Idc either way. I didn’t mind nurse before, and I don’t mind her now. She’s not my cup of tea, either way.
But..it’s hard to miss months of people complaining she’s too hard to face.. over and over, so it just seems misplaced to now have a post about her being too weak and not very good. Make up your minds. Weak nurse or tough nurse? Weak nurses IMO are likely someone doing a daily.

I'm starting to play as a survivor and I get absolutely obliterated every single time. I'm trying to do the challenge of stunning the killer with the new survivor and I just can't. One match is some killer that camps me in the hook, the other he just avoids my lantern, or the pallet... I'm loosing my hair over this, I should keep trying or give up.
It was really an annoying challenge. I don't think it's a you problem...

A lot of people could just be doing a daily. But that's what everyone wanted right, weak Nurses? The forums went crazy about her being overpowered for months...so y'all got your wish.

I would assume you don't encounter enough Plagues consistently for it to be a problem. You could just mute the sound and handicap yourself with the deafened status effect all match.
FR i'm probably like 1 of 5 people that main her 😂

Keep puking the entire game , the voice makes me sick .
The killer itself is boring af , just chase them since nobody will drink the water too soon . Keep kicking the 3 gen and ignore the others , 20 mins gameplay at least when facing the Plague .
As a Trapper/Plague main, idc. I never 3 gen and whether you choose to cleanse or not is entirely up to you. My games are never boring, I go against really good survivors who make the 4k a challenge. Plague can be countered, but that's once you can pinpoint which add ons are being used. Personally, I'm happy when people don't cleanse. And if you think she's so boring, try playing her...she's really not.
And 20 minutes is long to you? Is it because you want to do gens as fast as possible and then run out w no killer interaction, or just brief tbags at the end? Plague is a beautiful, intriguing killer...you just sound salty.

Does this provide a dopamine hit? Do you like it? Hate it?
What's the take?
It lowers your potential BP gain, but that's really all I know.
I guess idc, not really my problem. Sucks for their team tho

Hi! Hope everyone is doing fine.
So, i'm here to talk about boons. I think much have been said about it, but i still feel it can be an overwhelming perk in certain maps, especially in stronger one (Like Raccon Police Department, The Game or Eerye of Crows). Even with the killer having the possibility to snuff out the totem, survivors can easily light it up in another place, like near a completed generator.
I think boons should be a one-time use perk: when the killer snuff out the totem, the perk remains inactive for the remainer of the match. This could make the perk a more strategic one for healing, instead of a free medkit for everyone in the team.
Whats your thoughts on the current state of boons? How you guys have been dealing with the boons?
Sooooo…shattered hope should do?
