How do you loop when Kaneki vaults a pallet and you don't get to the other side of the pallet in time again? That's the question being asked here. Just saying loop doesn't really help at all.
I am hoping this has finally been fixed wit the nerf to the hindered effect, but before that nerf, I don't see how you would counterplay that.
You can get to the other side. Done it plenty of times, had it done to me plenty of times, such will continue forever because it's really not that hard to just space the window correctly.

I play for ladder, I don't think there's any problem with my looping skills. "Hold-W" exists because of how the numbers of pallets on maps has reduced and and size of the maps got shrinked. Do you really expect people to circle around only one pallet and drop it when killer about to catch up? Of course you will going to hold w, chain loops and tiles. Kaneki is just a buggy killer, nothing feels different after the nerfs, his kidnap tech and that bug downs you after he tags you with power while vaulting and downing you still exists. You are just trolling at the moment because when people asking you for the counterplay, you're avoiding answering and still saying the same thing
Kaneki damaging survivors next to a window he vaults (at least that's what I'm assuming you're talking about, that sentence is really hard to read) is not a bug. That is an intentional feature designed to stop survivors from just clipping through Kaneki and vaulting back over the other side because that would make the vault categorically worthless. You can tell it's intentional because Wesker does the exact same thing.
"Less pallets means survivors predrop-W more"
Dawg, what? It's the opposite. Less pallets means you should be looping and not predropping because you need to be more efficient with the smaller number of pallets you have. The reason predrop-W is so strong is because so many maps still have an insane pallet count to the point where you can pop them like Tic-Tacs and it doesn't matter.
"when people asking you for the counterplay, you're avoiding answering and still saying the same thing"
I told you the counterplay. It's looping. Kaneki is a loopable killer. Loop him like you would anyone else.

I think you're either trolling or just rage baiting
No, most people are just so used to the predrop W meta that they've become obscenely terrible at looping and they don't like that Kaneki finally makes that apparent.

And what to do when he just vaults the pallet in enraged mode? What is a survivor to do in that case?
Loop. I've done it a million times. I'll do it a million more times. Unless your brain is off looping Kaneki is baby mode easy.
-
Yeah Kaneki is just straight dead now lol, his single biggest strength was destroying predrop W in exchange for actually being loopable and now he lost that strength.
"Oh but he's still super mobile!" Yeah? So is Dredge. Who cares about mobility when you have no lethality to back it up?

@Suei said:
The nerfs were well deserved because there were not any decent counter play against him. Mostly the people who are using the arguement for Kaneki "just learn counter-play" are exclusive killer mains who never play as a survivor.
Loop.
Literally just loop.

Survivors could be playing with their monitors off and gamer chairs facing the wall and chaos shuffle would still massively favor them from just how mandatory perks are for killer
Turn your screen on, you'll be ok

I gotta be real, 99% of players only use chaos shuffle as an excuse to sweat their chodes off because "I had to man, I got a bad build!"

Way back in 2016 the bloodwebs were even grindier than they were before the 6.1.0 grind overhaul. When they did away with that, people who had prestiged their characters before the grind reduction got Legacy Prestige cosmetics with a fiery "Entity-touched" effect (pic for reference). I think bringing those visuals back with a different color to separate it from Legacy cosmetics would be dope as hell.

Endless matches against the same killer? Talk about a recipe for monotony. The ‘go next’ problem has been a hot topic in the community, and maybe it’s time for the developers to take notice and shake things up. Variety is the spice of gaming, after all!

Killer earns a LOT more bp than survivors, even without the event bp category. Since the entire point of the blood moon event is earning bp, there is little to no point in playing survivor.
After the bloodpoint changes for survivor score events this patch I gotta disagree, I get just as many points in my survivor matches.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/442145/opinion-about-the-blood-generator-feature
my basic thoughts:
- Cans on the ground should decay WAY slower.
- Cans while running should decay WAY faster.
- Blood pump auras should be revealed to survivors in some way in the future (offering/map/perk) because finding them on indoor maps is hard.
- Urban Evasion should be 50% or 100% more than what it is currently set to. Urban Evasion and Fixated should not be the same speed in the trial. It’s literally the same perk at that point? Urban Evasion needs a reason to be chosen over Fixated. Fixated is literally standing UE + scratch marks, which means it has more utility/mobility.
New features are difficult to implement. It makes complete sense that we would use the Blood Moon as a good opportunity to play test a new mechanic. We want to reduce waste, not risk another failure. Imagine how much time would be lost if they spent 20 hours reworking the coding for perks, when instead they could give us a delivered product to play around with. We can have opinions and thoughts this way without wasting anyone’s time. I’ve had a lot of fun this event so far.
I do not think many people realize it yet, but …
If Blood Generators are brought into the base game, THREE GENS WILL BECOME SUPER RARE. It is highly unlikely that all remaining generators will be BOTH close together AND all three the same type. If any three gen scenario holds a blood generator, three survivors can work on it at the same time and finish it very quickly. No more stalemates, just action and flow.Crouch-walking is half the speed of walking by default. Urban Evasion brings your crouch-walking speed up to the same speed as regular walking. Because you're harder to see while crouched and your injury noises are reduced by 50%, Urban gives you the luxury of enjoying those benefits without any compromise to movement speed.
If Fixated didn't apply a speed buff to walking, it would be a direct downgrade to Urban and Urban would be the objectively superior perk 100 times out of 100.

Maybe you're just having better luck than the rest of us. Wish I could have had a fun experience playing against him but I didn't.
I wouldn't say luck.
-
Win/Loss factor: I'd say it's been a good, well-rounded experience. Playing both as and against him, I've had outcomes ranging from 4k's at 5 gens to 2 hooks by the endgame. I've looped and been looped, stomped and been stomped. It's been a diverse range of matches with nothing skewing the idea of him being overtuned in one area or another.
Fun factor: I enjoyed playing as and against him very much. The only times he felt truly oppressive as survivor was on really bad map spawns (I'm talking the kind where you get like 7 pallets total) so the second he breaks the one you're at you're basically cooked; when I was actually at a loop his power ranged anywhere from "Complex movements where you as a survivor are constantly engaged and making reads on his positioning" to "M1 killer." On the other side, the worst and most unfun matches I had playing as him were in cases where the opposite was true, where even with every anti-W tool at my disposal the pallets were so tightly-packed that I was pretty much helpless against people who wanted to predrop and then run to another pallet. For these reasons I feel pretty confident in asserting his best maps are ones like Pale Rose or Rotten Fields where the RNG might just forget to spawn pallets literally anywhere, and his singular worst map is by far Gideon's.
Overall I think he's a fantastic addition to the game. I think he could stand to get a few small upwards and downwards adjustments, but in terms of being fresh off the PTB this is probably their best release ever in my opinion.
-
Goodness, I'm here if you need to talk man

I did come back to the forums and seeing the kind of posts that get downvotes vs. those that don't made it clear that I made a terrible mistake

She has multiple bugs, clunky features, and a pretty irrelevant mechanic in Houndsense.
She needs a lot of bug fixes and QOL.
Then, adjust Snug's vault speed, and give Houndsense more passive things to do that don't require a hit to trigger.
And of course, revisit some of her weaker add-ons.
Oh dude speaking of her weaker addons
I know it was incredibly strong on the PTB but the absolute massacring of Knotted Rope is one of historical proportions and I have no idea why they bothered with that second nerf.

Perhaps the killer simply isn't for you if you're struggling with her in her current state, bug woes aside.
I love her as an idea, and when she works she's fun. She just doesn't work.
I can't prove you don't do well with her as much as I honest to God disbelieve it, but I can't just take your word at face value and act like my matches that consist of constant issues with the dog standing completely still when asked to do anything, getting stuck on air, pathing around something he was nowhere near, not creating paths in search mode, clipping through survivors, or turning off entirely just didn't happen. The killer is unfinished, full stop.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I dunno, aside from the occasional pathing bug (which I find less frustrating than a lot of other stuff in the game for some reason) I don't have any issues playing her. She's better than like 60%+ of the killer cast, easier to pick up than a lot of other killers in her tier (especially on controller), and overall just relaxing to play. If anything I think they ought to look at the vault & cooldown changes they did with her last batch of changes, because they're kind of overtuned in comparison to other killer powers. She's never really punished for using her power inefficiently and I think that makes her feel unrewarding at times.

No idea if this is accurate but the description you gave is far too humorous for it not to be.
In my experience it is, a survivor could accidentally slip and let go of the analogue stick on their 10-year-old PS4 controller held together by thoughts and prayers and that would be enough to make Snug completely miss and run straight past them.
-
@MoZo said:
they need to give her a bunch of bug fixes and qoL while also revisiting that vault speed. It’s so stupid how you can be half way through a vault pretty much touching the ground and the dog vaults so quick that you still get hit. I find it really dumb that the counterplay is to stand still at a pallet and wait for her dog to grab u then stun the dog. You can’t predrop anywhere near her or else she gets a free injury or grab that leads to a hit.
The counter is pressing D on your keyboard since it breaks the dog in half because his coding runs on the electric signals generated by the heartbeats of an actual dog.

Cutting down downtime for picking and hooking survs is not "pure QoL".

sprint burst has always been the best exhaustion perk ever since DH got reworked in 6.1, Dramaturgy is really good but the main drawback on it is it only works if you’re healthy, every other exhaustion perk works if you’re injured but drama and overcome are the only outliers. I don’t think they’ll ever fix flashbangs since it’s coded to be a bubble explosion radius so they would have to rework the coding and since the game runs on Spaghetti code I doubt it will ever be looked into
It only works while healthy because if you know how to use Dramaturgy you'll only ever be healthy.
-
It's incredibly good at what it does. My issue is that what it does is pure QoL.

I will disagree on that - truthfully in my opinion. The haste is good, but the chase essential.
If you have even a basic ability to predict where survivors are going to go—which I'm assuming you do if you consider yourself good at a killer as prediction-heavy as Houndmaster—then you can always put the search path going towards or running very nearly alongside the survivor with ease every time, and give yourself an ample amount of haste to rush the survivor down at a rate that would make Legion mains consider ending it all. The only time you should be having real issues is if you're on an indoor map and find yourself at the mercy of the dog's janky pathfinding, but even then.
-
@MechWarrior3 said:
It felt so wonky coming to a complete hault when you found a survivor. Although, I am almost p13 with her now. I play her everyday, so I have been able to spend time figuring out what works. The search ability people are avoiding the haste by cutting the path so she loses haste and generally there is a vault or pallet available for them anyways.
I think it helps her but I dont think the bugfix is an issue. The dog grab is still a must for her chase ability and I wouldnt say its replaced by the search ability just from a bug fix. I get the concern, and its totally valid, but I have only gotten value a few times out of it and I am pretty good with her already.
I also consider myself pretty good with her and I can consistently get more search haste value in one match more than I can get bite value in an entire day of gameplay now—and not for lack of landing bites; the search haste is just that good.
-
@jmwjmw27 said:
I'll have to test it out myself, but I think this is overblown. You can see the trail and with search she is plain M1 so it shouldn't be that hard to avoid outside of pure deadzones. It doesn't like to give you the speed when the trail drops down sharply, and she also can't use the speed to bypass both pallets and windows, so I'd argue there's plenty of counterplay including moving out of the way.
Her limit on search area is also somewhat small outside of targeting objectives, so if you're far enough you can just hold W and make sure to stray away from whatever gen she targets.
Even on Houndmaster's worst maps like Lery's, I am able to use the trail to extremely great effect. If it even slightly grazes a loop, you can use it to boost your lunge speed and easily catch people out of line.
"She's just a plain M1" Yeah, who moves at Sprint Burst speed when the trail is active—which, if you know what you're doing, is nearly all the time.
if you're far enough you can just hold W and make sure to stray away from whatever gen she targets.
She can still just point the trail at the gen and then walk along it until she gets close to you. Or she can also point the trail where you're going. It's really not that hard for her to adjust.
-
@Daniel_Silva04 said:
For God's sake, man. Just move away from the trail and she loses her speed, I didn't see any problem with that, very rarely will you be able to use it in a chase, it depends more on the survivor than on you.
very rarely will you be able to use it in a chase
I can safely say using it in a chase is extremely easy to access and happens every chase if you know what you're doing.

Fighting for what to stay? TOTH?
I mean, if he doesn't think TOTH is that good, it makes sense he'd be against a perk he doesn't think is that good getting nerfed. It'd be like, I don't know, This Is Not Happening. I couldn't give two flying turdfucks about that perk because it's so ass, but if it got nerfed, I'd be really confused as to why they nerfed a perk that was so ass.

It wasn't enough for Singularity, or Twins. I don't see why this would be different.Singularity and Twins are a lot more complicated from a balancing perspective than Houndmaster. A killer that can place cameras nearly anywhere he wants to observe survivors and infect them with a disease that lets him teleport to them and gain a steroid boost, or a killer that is literally 2 killers, is much more complicated than Straight Line Ground-Crawling Projectile Number Fifty.

- No map presure (area maybe for a 3 gen)
- she isnt lethal enough
- Info out of search mode is none existend
- Real
- Disagree, it's very rare that I get a dog bite and don't subsequently land a hit, but then again it's also very rare to get a dog bite in the first place because the HITBOX SUCKS SO MUCH
- Disagree heavily, her mobility is totally fine
- If her dog could actually hit people this wouldn't be an issue
- I don't understand this one. She has no info when she's not using the dedicated info half of her power?
