Honestly, all my games are versus rank 1/rank 2 killers. 3 out of 4, facecamp. Let alone tunnel and don’t forget lag switch (it’s usually Bubbas tho).

If a killer acknowledges that you are “good”, only because you had him chase you for over 30 seconds, they will facecamp.
if they hook you and there are 2 gens left, facecamp.
if you are wearing pretty cash shop clothes, facecamp.

Like really, I don’t care if I get hooked, but blocking the game/rescue from progressing seems like a coward way of trying to scratch a few bloodpoints.

As long as survivor throw themselves at the hook......

I am down to rank 5 on Xbox again. Returned to the old get messaged after every game aura that I loved before....not. This is why I deranked and never tried getting back here until recently just going with the flow.

Some survivors are so good at running in a loop around something with a pallet. That they seem to create an interesting situation for the killer. Either break the chase, OR keep running in that circle until you DO get hit by that pallet and they run to the next one. These aren't the survivors who stop by pallets or drop them early for a little space. They know exactly when they're going to hit you or if you're going to hit them. They CAN infinitely loop me if they have available pallets....

I am wondering how in the world are you supposed to deal with them in games where they can all do this? Your gens already get ran through so insanely fast. How are you supposed to down let alone kill multiple people when this happens.

You ignore the survivor and find the bad one in the team that doesnt know how to loop. Use him as bait for the better survivors.

This or you just derank

I am not sure what i would call this perk yet but i was thinking about how nice it would be if we could have a perk that shows the aura of a hook rescuer for say 3 or 4 seconds in addition all bloodpoints earned either from chasing, hitting, hooking that person are doubled for 30 seconds so a hit would be 600BP instead of 300BP on the rescuer.

The reason i bring this suggestion is because in many cases when someone gets unhooked i dont generally want to go for the person that just got saved but for the most part i am forced to when they are the only one i find when i get back to the hook. Showing us the general direction the rescuer went or is going would be amazing because then i could almost certainly go after the rescuer if i want to and not be forced to kill the injured guy again.

These meagre BP are not worth. If you tunnel, the 4k will give you more BP in a shorter time. Unless there is actual gameplay advantage, tunneling will always stay

Thats how almost every other game handles DCing in ranked games

I must not have worded my question well.

Say you penalize DCing to depip, and they find another way that doesn't involve DCing, how will you stop them?

Aside from them using DC to depip, how will you stop them?
Odds are good they will find a way to depip that doesn't involve DCing.
Added penalties to DCing will just lead to a different ways to depip.

People depip because the game is broken.
You are forced to play certain viable killers if you wanna do well because the devs dont want every killer to be viable (for some reason).
Also there are ZERO rewards for ranking up, ranking up is easy AF and on top of that rank resets monthly

hatch works more against survivors than for survivors unless your swf Bc at the end of the day your “team” truly tried their best.

noed is not op, you just missed a totem.

The game is in fact mostly balanced Bc of swf. Bc solo is certainly not balanced by any means.

Camping is a legit strategy it just makes the game incredibly BORING for all survivors.

Survivors cause most of their own “woes”

As a killer you spent too much time tunneling and and camping instead of applying map pressure 7/10 this is your own fault that’s why you lost, not Bc they were swf. Also Bc you took the bait and chased the 1/2 good runners on the team the entire match instead of applying gen pressure.

Killers arent op and neither are survivors.

This game is fun that’s why you keep playing it despite your “perspectives of imbalance”

The game is neither balanced around SWF nor against solo, something in between id say

Dont feel bad when they call you M1 billy, dont try to always use the chainsaw, you are a 115% killer.

This game has evolved since 2016, it's nearly 2019 now, I hope we can all understand that Dead by Daylight loses all its sense and fun when it comes down to camping.

I'm tired of wasting my time, items, addons, offerings and rank pips into games where I get caught for a single mistake (which sometimes could be conditioned by the game itself) and that's enough to get me punished to death by any unfair playing killer.

What do I mean with camping:
What I mean with camping is of course having a killer that stays by the hook or that patrols the nearby area, but I also prefer to include another strategy, similar to tunneling, which is instantly or soon enough downing survivors back as soon as they get unhooked, which is also very unfair and senseless.

The reason why I want to keep that separated from tunneling is because tunneling is actually prioritizing one (or more) specific survivor(s) to get them out of the game as soon as possible, whether because it's the obsession and the killer's got Dying Light, Remember Me or anything similar, or if it's just an attempt to gain a good map pressure by jumping straight to a 1v3 with (hopefully and supposedly) about 1 generator repaired to the point when the guy gets sacrificed.
Sure this shouldn't involve having the killer stay by the hook, it should rather be about the killer leaving the hook to handle other tasks, and only as soon as the survivor gets rescued, coming back for it and ignoring everybody else to progress through that guy's sacrifice.
Tunneling is also a lame strategy to many players, but when the target of it knows how to handle the situation, they could possibly get to take advantage of it by wasting a lot of the killer's time and getting Adrenaline to pop or anyways getting hooked at a certain point with his team managing to rescue him after many generators have been done and pretty much with the exit gates open.

I've been the target in this kind of situation, and even if I ended up dying and maybe depipping, at least I actively helped my team securing their escapes and I sure had some genuine fun with a long chase, so at that point I won't even mind if I die.

The reason why I'm fine with tunneling is also because when I tried to get the Adept Wraith achievement, I really struggled in certain maps to optimize the time that I spent in the chases, since I did that on rank 1, and sure the 3 teachable perks of the Wraith weren't coming in handy at all. I can relate to killers that feel the need to try to do something like that, and I think it can even be justified with some barely useful perks on an below average killer. (I eventually got the achievement, but being on rank 1 didn't help, I had to wait to deal with solo players to be able to kill them all with those ridiculous perks)

Now, one thing that I really want to point out is, no matter how much toxicity they put into doing it, neither camping nor tunneling are something that I'd blame the killer for doing; I maybe wouldn't do it on their place, but still I don't want to blame a killer that is struggling to gain map pressure for doing anything alike, or neither if it's their standard playstyle. I could maybe rage at them at first, but when lucidly thinking about it, I don't think that it's their fault at all.

I think that if there's somebody to blame instead, it's rather the game designers who have always promoted camping as a """valid""" strategy, even though it's always been known for utterly ruining the gameplay experience for at least one of the players involved.
It's quite inconceivable indeed that one working for a game wants its players to rage when dealing with toxic strategies, since that's what they approved and recommended killers to do.

Let me know your opinions about this!

P.S. for anybody ready with their dead meme with the doctor showing a "git gud" (or anything on the same level): are you here to make the community rot?
You're welcome, but before demonstrating your ignorance, arrogance and brain damage, I'd be pleased to see you guys having fun to a camper so that you can prove me wrong, thus before showing your super funny picture, make sure to include a link to a youtube video where you show me your unstoppable fun against any camper player that makes you die within seconds from the first mistake you do, solo survivor game, no good teammates capable of saving, no ds, mic included: even if you're likely 11-12 (deducing from the way you think), it's still legal to make us hear your voice ;)
It's up to you, either a video or no d*ck comments, thank you and may everybody have a good one :)

There already is invulnerability during unhook now, its impossible to tunnel rigth of the hook, the other survivor can ALYWAYS bodyblock. Also you got BT, which doesnt even tick down during a chase anymore. What else do you want?

A killer camping a single survivor is intentionally losing the game, he allows the other 3 survivors to finish all gens and leave because it takes 2 minutes to die on hook.
if you are always the one being camped, then I would consider takign a closer looka t your playstyle.....

Nah, I don't play toxic buddy, I used to but I acknowledged it back in the days and sure I wouldn't complain about camping.
The few times that I give a try to toxic gameplay I sure expect the killer to get upset from my playstyle and I don't have anything to say about that.

The problem is, on rank 1 I really don't play toxic, I just play to enjoy the game, and that often doesn't happen because it's full of campers. I know that it sounds weird, but there's way too many people getting apparently rewarded by that playstyle rather than punished, and as I said, tunneling is only when you have a chance to keep a chase and gain distance, if the killer is just around and comes back for the unhook while one can't move any further than an open field then I call that camping because it's just like farming survivors off the hook just with a longer time, only an adrenaline, instaheal, or something would save you in that situation.

I see it all the time, a SWF knocks out 3 gens during my first chase. I simply accept that I lost the game and wait in front of my victim that the other 2 gens pop. FOr some reason the whole SWF throws themselves at the hook several times and I end up 4king.

A killer camping surenders the game, as I said. Its up to the survivors to take the free win and get their ass out, no other way to put that

I'd like to honestly keep SWF outside of this conversation, I often get camped and tunneled as a solo player, and that's stupidly hard and most of the times impossible to deal with unless you've got some really good teammates. I do take the risk of playing with any survivor, but camping is just by itself quite stupid, you don't want, as a game designer, that one of the roles of your multiplayer game has a ######### tier experience due to their opponent's strategy, it's just not conceivable!

Oh dont get me wrong, sometimes solo players play really good that I have the impression that its an SWF.
And since the devs want to take away all knowledge from the killer and spawn all survivors at the same time into the lobby..... well

If survivors wouldnt reward camping so much (and especially SWF do), then it wouldnt be a problem at all because it just is a really bad strategy.

What happens if a super gen is done, will another gen be removed or have the survivors just another gen that the killer needs to patrol?

Why does the supergen give the survivors a gameplay advantage, but the superhook doesnt give anythign for the killer?

Hm, I would say there are two supergens and seven normal gens. The sec supergen can't get repaired after the first one did, so they have to take one of the other normal gens. 8 normal gens plus 2 supergens is to much to patrol I guess, but just 6 normal gens forces survs to do the supergen I guess.

The superhook is far away from perfect ^^ I was thinking about a mechanic which encourage a not camping/not tunneling gameplay. The other hooks would remain so if the killer wants to camp/tunnel without the loss of additional bp he could take these ones, but I admit this idea is not matured enough :)

Two supegens (they can only do one) and 7 normal ones mean also that there will be 4 gens available when they need to do the last one instead of the 3 usual ones

I have been thinking a lot about the serious camping problem. It gets really bad to where I don’t want to play sometimes.
This is just an idea but maybe if a killer is camping, like within such meters of a hook, the health of the survivor shouldn’t go down.
    Just an idea.

You don't solve the camping/tunneling problem by punishing killers for doing what they (in that situation) should be doing.
It should be done through making camping/tunneling in their strategic disinterest through giving them more value hooking different survivors and making the 1st and 2nd hook more valuable to get.

Y = 4 survivors alive (100% efficiency) For every survivor that dies it's -25% (for simplicities sake)
X = the amount of times you have hooked, with the different lines showing whether you either camped/tunnelled (Blue) or if you never camped/tunnelled that match. (Red)

The Yellow area is the reason is why people camp and tunnel.
The Green area in the second graph is why people would no longer camp/tunnel.

The way you achieve this is by making the 1st and 2nd hook valuable as well (Blue line in the "New graph).

The question is how do you want to achieve this?

It would be necessary to give an insane gameplay advantage for fresh hooks, but survivors heavily blocked ideas like this because "you only want killer buffs for ez 4k etc".

Oh and btw, your graph explains why tunneling is a thing, but it has nothing to do with camping actually

  • Is the super gen placed instead of a normal gen?

Why shouldnt they? Its a free escape, you dont have to do anything for it and it even grants extra BP.
Its not the goal for a survivor to make other survivors escape.

The hatch is in general problematic design and desperately needs a rework for 2 years now

So the story here is that this person was playing nurse on badham with 5 blinks, NOED and an ebony mori. She could barely land a blink and even when she did hit us she would lose us a second later. When the game was over i proceeded to say how toxic and sweaty that whole match was and he said that it was his "3rd time playing nurse" which i don't know to be true because his profile was private. This man then proceeded to go ballistic after we were telling him how bad he was for playing something he knew would not work. First off, you don't need 5 blinks to hit someone, that is your own fault for thinking that you can.

So now i have to go and report this player after he has made it personal with me. Insulting me, telling me to commit suicide and even making fun of my sexuality saying very personal stuff which you can read in the screenshots. Now, i will say i showed one part of his name to prove that this wasn't me that said these things, and i copied the link to his profile and as soon as i finish up here will be writing the report.

But i just want to say something, This community acts like babies fighting over a piece of candy. You have one side complaining about loops and getting gen-rushed, and you have another side getting mad because of players using toxic addons to either make the game faster or just because they can. There are no rules to this game no "tunneling", no "camping" none of it. Those are just terms made up terms by famous streamers who are survivor mains (You know who you are) something needs to be done about this. If you're wondering why i am writing this, it's because people like the guy who said these things to me are still in the game, and will continue to say these things unless it is not brought to the attention of this so called "Community". (because this damn place is like a prison ruled by prison guards who riot all the time)

I also would like a mod to contact me on steam to let me know when action has been taken care of with this player. Because i don't even trust the people that wear the title of mod.

When you only wanna punch, but cant take punchs......

Whats the point in going EZ after every game if you do so i believe your losing a ######### ton of games and when you finaly survive one game you typ EZ to make you feel better.

I yesterday bought the new DLC's in the new steam sale so i started playing a litterly a lvl 1 Killer in rank 9 after rank reset. with 1 lvl 1 perk and 0 addons and people be dropping EZ. Ofc i did not expect to win and thats my fault. but when theyr lvl 40+ with desicive, dead hard, borrowd time, sprint burst. I realy dont care about these people droping the EZ its just sad.

i played a game with clown and i managed to kill one guy and they were survive with firends and they all spamed the chat afterwards and rage'd at me for geting ONE out of FOUR people. Say what? they werent happy i even killed one ? If i camp im a noob if i tunnel im a noob if i kill some one im a noob, im not allowed to do anything as a killer?

Anyways i recently played a game with my huntress and they all survived and had all the exit gates opend, but 2 survive with friends ddnt leave they probably thought omg hes so bad lets play with him, drop a pallet slide over it until you get the killers atention, com on not leaving when the exit gate is open, realy, stay just to ''make fun of the killer'' Isnt this bannable?(i also reported these guys) Anyways i actualy downed one of them and hooked him, so i thought if hes toxic then im toxic to cuz all i wanted was to start another game but they held the game hostage and ddnt leave, so i camped him, and his friend got so mad he decided to run around the map even more and not leave just to waste more time and he keept doing so for over 5min.

I actualy reported the last guy. cuz thats not cool, even such what the second last guy did was not cool either but he got what he deserved for spaming pallet sliding when gates are open.

All im saying is we're here to have fun and to spend some time not to argue over internet or prove whos the better player im here to spend my time think of somthing els then real life(also you cant play unranked).
They had a clean win but they decided to be more toxic i realy hope that players such as these gets banned and are not to be taken lightly.

Dont be a dick spread some love and make friends instead and not enemies.
GL TO YOU ALL. and think what your up against next time you drop that EZ bomb with lvl 50 survivor full perks + addons against a Freddy or a lvl 5 killer.

Thats why you derank before you test a new killer

  • If you are asking from a lore-standpoint, then maybe the guys in the lore section can help you^^

I play survivor 99% of the time, so i play killer only for rituals and very rarely when i feel like switching sides. Usually i’m really bad and my rank is somewhere at 16-20. I don’t tunnel or camp, and try to have fun and make it fun for those motherf*ckers lol
But despite my fair playstyle they always wait near the exit and tbag like #########. Were those poor people bullied at school or sexually harassed by their stepdads lol?

I play on ps4 if that matters.

No matter how you play as killer, survivors will always treat you like shiat

I have been thinking a lot about the serious camping problem. It gets really bad to where I don’t want to play sometimes.
This is just an idea but maybe if a killer is camping, like within such meters of a hook, the health of the survivor shouldn’t go down.
    Just an idea.

Abused by survivors (anti camp mechanics were tested in the first PTB, the irony......)

if you get bored of camping killers, just play killer and choose not to camp

  • Yes it is allowed, but if you DC too much, then you will get problems. (the DC rate has to be absurdly high though)

  • @Unnamed_Freak said:
Actually you can get banned by disconnecting, but at the moment it's only available on PC. The devs are trying to implement the system on console.

Yes if you have an absurd high rate CONSISTENTLY over a big time period.
But if you only ragequit every game you are "tunneled" (i.e. every 4th assuming all survivors are as toxic as you), then you are fine

I think a time-out penalty would do the trick. Any time a player leaves, they are prohibited from using matchmaking for 15-20 mins.

That will make people think twice about casually leaving a game.

    indeed

  • Can we just trade it with DS and remove both?

    So killers....

How have the lobbies been since the end of the double BP event?

(not home yet so can't check for myself, but some people have been saying they are faster.)

I never had problems with lobbies, even during the event

Nurse is still the only killer that can compete with competent swf

Yeah thats why I didn't say she needs one now, I said over the course of the games future.

Unless I missed sth, there is no intention to nerf SWF. SO why should change anythign in the future?

  • Nurse is still the only killer that can compete with competent swf

  • I dont see a single reason why there should be ANY notification.
There is not a single hex perk where this is actually necessary, you can derive everythign from gameplay

  • Hopefully

It's never going to happen. If you haven't been paying attention the new matchmaking settings are going to match make survivors together first then bring them to you as a killer. So until gameplay starts and even when it does you won't truly know if they are swf anyway. So stop with this your complaints have gone ignored just like survivor complaints of wanting BBQ and chili removed or other stupid forms of feedback like that.

Fine, I will keep spamming until sth happens

Thanatophobia dosent need to be kit on killers they already have alot of buff survivor needs a buff on solo players devs mentioned that ppl complain about SWF and they still complain so they think of putting kindred and bond as base kit for survivors

Have you ever played in Red Ranks? Literally any way to slow the game down is fairly appreciated. Kindred would help and prevent camping.

Kindred speeds up the game btw

what the hell is that. It seems as if you hit the survivor but then the camera shakes all over and you miss? Like the auto aim shakes and misses or something.

It autoaims you to a wall or sth nearby

Ive noticed that too, maybe sth new with the new engine, idk

I'm just passing by to report these two "wonderful" players I've met in a match.
It has to be done sth.

Just go afk and take the BP they farm for you, thats how I handle a situation liek this

  • wohoooo freddy rework.... probably..... maybe..... maybe not.......... train has left the station

  • Oh and btw

I feel like a lot of killers tend to take the easy way and when they’re taking a survivor to ththe basement they go off the side and jump down but since they have perfect balanced landing they can keep on walking and get to the hook faster and I hate it when you get right there at the point where it’s like 99% complete struggling and you’re like damn if they didn’t take the easy way around I wouldn’t gotten away. I don’t think killers should be able to just have everything handed to them like with the camping that’s basically getting an insta kill but like they’re just standing there doing nothing and somehow that gets them points survivors can’t jus stand there and do nothing and magically get points or magically get a gen done no they HAVE to work to survive so why don’t killers have to work to get a kill? Camping is already being punished soon so I’m not worrying about that but realistically if you’re carrying someone on your shoulders and you jump off of a cliff you aren’t gonna jus land perfectly you’re gonna end up dropping them so I think that if a killer is a carrying a survivor and they try to cheat by literally jumping to the hook jus so survs can’t get away that they should drop them or at least have a stumble affect cause not only is that unfair but it’s also unrealistic asf

Nah. There's an easy way and idk why so many people haven't seen it yet. Bring Solo to SWF level. Then buff the killers to combat Solo and SWF. Problem solved.

The devs dont want to introduce ingame voice comms because it would be against the nature of the game (the irony though)

No they don't want to have to make people listen to 12 year olds screaming at them non stop about why they didn't rescue them from the camping Bubba.

Some genius invented the mute functionally to prevent situations like this

Yes because having to pause your game to mute some 12 year old works out really well when the killer is chasing you. So the geniuses that know better don't force an action paced game to be paused/alt tabbed/menu opened when it can't be just to please someone using such a bad argument.

I wonder why this works in other games, even competitive ones like CSGO for example

And if you are so strongly against communication within your team, then you can still disable it completely in the menu, there will be several shy /socially akward guys out there that will do that, thats for sure

Hmm CSGO multiple people and you can hide behind a wall if need be.

DBD a killer chasing you and you can't always hide and simply choose the mute option and why should I be forced to disable it beforehand. Perhap I want to talk to someone that's being funny in the lobby.

Alls you're doing is looking for excuses to troll over this since you know it's not feasible for all the reasons mentioned before.

CSGO multiple people on each side, DBD 1vb4 and if you have to sotp to mute said annoying 12 year old you're basically dead.

Uhm what, are you trying to tell me that its fine to go afk in CSGO and that this is impossible in DBD?

you need to disable voice comms ONCE in your whole life, but why is noone else allowed to use it just because you dont want to?

The only logical answer to this is that you dont want killers to be buffed at SWF lvl and thats just embarassing for yourself

@eighttailedfox in no way am i insulting you. I just want to point out that at a rank 16 survivor and a rank 10 killer you probably don't have the experience and or knowledge of the map layout most of your competition does.

Why does the matchmaking put you against several red ranks in a SWF then?

I get the problem of the OP, but it's not the match making which is the problem.
It's part of it, but not the main problem, the main problem is the bad balance in the game.
    On both sides.

If you know the map, you know the game mechanics, a 4 man team, no SWF or SWF will always be better as a team of level 1 dwights with no map knowledge and AS every killer which are not a teleporting beast.

The game is basically inbalance vs. inbalance.
While the killers differ from strength, mobility a lot which is the biggest killer problem, the survivors can just be devastating and qucik in terms of ending the game.
Also luck has a too big impact to the game, wrong gen placements and the killer can abuse the ######### out of it.
While a better placement hurts the killer too much.

The map layout can be 100 pallets near by or nearly no pallets near by at all.

It's all a big game of RNG, toxicity and getting the killer or in rare cases, the survivor to rage disconnect.

It's hard for both sides to have fun if one has to loose, not because some people can't loose, but because the rounds are not fair and balanced for both teams equally and there are situations, players can't do anything (like camping, tunneling, gen rushing, t-bagging at the exit gates, pallet towns etc.)

These problems will always be there, dedicated servers will just make the killer gameplay worse, because the devs have shown, they don't know how to properly fix game breaking bugs and/or broken game mechanics.

So I guess killers will have delays when swinging or using their ability, because the game does only have PREDICTED environment for the survivors/also killer movement, nothing else.

Thats what I fear too, especially with 360s being a thing..... huntress will probably die when dedicated servers are rdy
