Always used Lithe over DH so not really much is going to change for me there.

I just don't get it. I've never enjoyed looping around a pallet as survivor. That's not really playing a game.
Ah yes, one of those who think survivors should just stand still and give free hits
-
No I dont. I like to have my perks working during the whole match and totems arent that difficult to find most of the time.

There's 2 possibilities.
1. The amount of SWF is so high, that it drags the kill rates down, even for solos.
2. Solos aren't as bad as you wanna make them.
I'd like to see the possibility 3, which would be the devs showing the most recent stats showing that kill rates are low. Why did they not show those stats? They have shown killer kill rates before, they showed stats for most used perks on both sides... so where is the graph with the low kill rates?
-
Please do that, maybe the devs will revert survivor nerfs then. I'm all for it at this point.

Am i the only solo q survivor who enjoys going against Nurse? She's literally my favorite killer, even if it's a complete wipeout at least it's short lmao
I'm also solo and I dont mind nurse. She is not my favorite, but I'd rather go against a nurse than a pinhead/legion/huntress any day.

I just don't understand the whole "I'm only a solo survivor !" If you hate solo do much. FIND DBD FRIENDS. I hated playing with newbies from the start....So you know what I did...? I found DBD friends.
All my DBD friends quit a long time ago. And all new people I try to bring to the game also quit because the game is too grindy.

Love to face: Freddy, Billy, Michael, Deathslinger, Nemesis, Demogorgon
Hate to face: Huntress, Pinhead, Legion.

You are 100% right and dh, ds, and bt make this game annoying as hell for most killers. I get that people dont like tunneling and camping but it is the only option for some underpowered killers and killer mains up against 4 swf.
Focusing on removing camping and tunneling will just make less people play killer
The least bias killer main

I'm definitely happy with it. Killer basekit buffs and help for solo queue survivor, that's very good in my book- even if certain parts end up not affecting much, it's great to see such big swings being taken.

so you're attacking character/comments? So yes you got owned because you don't actually know how star struck works. But you do agree then that she's balanced since she requires skill to play? Meaning she doesn't need to get nerfed? Interesting.....Think more than just me agree, that you're the ignorant one here 😂
You're commenting on a public forum, someone saying you made a ignorant comment is ok.
I never even mentioned star struck, this is a thread about solo q and nurse, not star struck.

so you agree, she requires a lot of skill to play and you got owned because you tried to make a cheese play? Meaning she's actually balanced since she requires skill to reach the same lvl as a lower tier easier killer that has a decent kill rate due to her being played mainly in mid to low mmrs where survivors aren't as good/experienced with the game?
I didnt get owned, but your ignorant comment sure did

@Synzicle said:
you want to gut the lowest kill rate player in the game because she requires a lot of time and practice to use her ability right....because you got insta downed by camping near the down for an easy unhook.....what
By that logic pig needs to be nerfed because her kill rate is high. Stop using the same dumb excuses please. Kill rates mean nothing when it comes to skill. A good nurse is 1000000000000000000 times better than a good pig.

When I realise it's a toxic SWF I make it my sole objective to make their game miserable and I'm sure a lot more killers are the same way.
The last SWF I played last night had between 0 - 9k scores with 4 flans.
Solo survivors get more leniancy.
The amount of times I've been accused of being in a SWF even though I'm solo it's ridiculous, so I really doubt what youre saying

After the new changes killers will definitely only see me playing in a swf group. I’m tired of solo q and I won’t touch it anymore after the changes.
Same. The forums the past few days just showed that killers arent really interested in fair games, they just want easy kills that's why they're happy that solo q was gutted and swf stays the same.

Not really, It's just that no matter how many buff they get solo q gonna get easily wiped out due to the players itself.
Thats not true at all that’s just what lazy people decide to think because it’s easier than to actually fix things.
Something as basic as kindred basekit would already be a big improvement.
-
@fulltonon said:
I mean if it's balanced when survivors are wildly less skilled than killer, that's clearly a problem.
even soloQ will be hell for the killers as long as all of them are actually skilled enough, which doesn't happen often though.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3024138#Comment_3024138
Why care about it when nothing fix it anyway?
there will be slight compensation through certain mechanics, but there is no reason to balance things around solo q players, as it doesn't matter anyway.
I’m glad you don’t play solo that’s why balancing solo q “doesn’t matter”.

The hard of hearing argument is not the reason. IW never affected me because I am legally deaf. I play my zarina as survivor and dredge as killer. I know I have a disadvantage not being able to hear that is not my opponents fault how do they even know what is going on with me. Survivor has been the power role far longer than it should have been. The game has been evolving and will most likely continue to do so.
As someone who is legally deaf, you should try to be more inclusive and not think so much about "survivor bad killer good" dont you think? Because that's how your post kinda feels like to me.
I'm glad as a deaf person you dont care if things affect you or not, but a lot of us get affected by it and do care.

I am all for inclusivity, but ultimately, I don't think that you can please everyone, and that in such a case the health of the game should be looked into first, and the smaller groups with their own needs second. I think that by todays standards we should be able to add some checkmarks in the options menu to provide all kinds of people with whatever experience they need, be it visual heartbeats, different colored auras or whatever else.
On a tangential note, BHVR never saw pressing needs to implement as much as a 0,25s limiter to flashlight clicks, even though multiple users with mild to middle epileptic backgrounds asked repeatedly for this small change. Are you of the same mentality that will tell this people to play something else or that macro clicking the killer is just too much fun?
"I'm all for inclusivity but". ok. So you are for inclusivity unless it is a perk that you dont like, because a perk that bothers you is more important than HOH people being able to enjoy the game.

You got to admit that this is a very special case. I would recon that more then 99% of the average Spine Chill+Iron Will users are not hearing impaired, but I could be off by a percentage point or two.
So just because it's a special case it shouldnt be taken into account?
Did you have the same mentality when they added different coloration to auras for color blind people?
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3024114#Comment_3024114
But that's getting away from the point and just back towards Spine Chill as a perk you like. If the problem is really, truly just that you want to know when you're in the terror radius, Spine Chill is worse at that job, not more reliable.
The only things it's more reliable for are the effects that it has independent of being a bandaid accessibility fix.
Agree to disagree. IMO it is more reliable. If stake out/diversion/distortion got nerfed right now to not work in terror radius, I dont think anyone would complain about that. Most HOH people were clearly using spine chill for a reason. It just works better in general. I'd even be fine if they reduced the distance it takes for it to activate.
-
The problem is that it would kill certain killer builds like Scratched Mirror Myers. They would never be able to pick an indoor map and it would make that build useless.
What if instead of map offerings, by picking up a killer would get more % chance of getting a certain map? I think this could fix things like Billy getting inside maps etc
-
I just think they need to be consistent. If Artist and Twins cant use their power near the hook, why can Hag do it? It's either all can or none can.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3024104#Comment_3024104
You don't need two? Stake Out, Diversion, and Distortion on their own will all tell you - much more accurately - that you're in the killer's terror radius. Why would you need two perks to get that information?
Spine Chill is still more reliable. The way I said it could be nerfed would make it fair for everyone.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3024095#Comment_3024095
If your problem is terror radius, there are three other perks that do that job just straight better than Spine Chill does even now, that's the thing.
Spine Chill doesn't tell you when you're in the terror radius, it tells you when the killer's looking at you. Perks that start charging when you're inside the terror radius are much more accurate towards giving you that information.
Not just TR, it's sounds in general. TR was just one example.
And I know those other perks, just today someone told me I needed to use 2 of them just to have a weaker spine chill. Yea no thanks. I already have to have kindred and bond on my build, I dont want to have to use 2 more perks for the weaker effect of one.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3024078#Comment_3024078
Fair enough, my bad.
For the record, me too.
Like people have said before, the only thing spine chill needed was it not working on killers that are undetectable. That would be fair for people with hearing issues since it would affect them the same way people who don't have them.
Making it only work on LOS defeat that purpose since my problem is with all killer TR and not just some and it also doesn't help Ghostface and Myers since they need to be in LOS to stalk anyway. I do not care about the vault speed, at all.
I had the same problem when they nerfed Stridor since I had to use it on all my builds.
-
@jesterkind said:

Needing to rely on a perk because accessibility options are lacking is a bad thing, and hard of hearing players have at least three other perks that can help them with not being able to hear the terror radius, so like... idk man bringing up hard of hearing people because you don't like a balance change feels really quite tasteless imo.
I have hearing problems, the only tasteless person here is you for assuming I'm using it as an excuse.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/330645/survivor-isnt-dead-nor-has-it-ever-been
When I play survivor I literally play with not one of the affected perks, with the exeption of BT. I made the conscious decision to never use DH outside of the handful of tome challenges that demand it, and while I died a lot at first, ultimately it made me a better survivor player and looper. And when the killer corners me, he gets his deserved down, which feels much fairer.
People who claim that the game is dead now are those that got just boosted by their meta setup without the skills to back their MMR bracket up. And the game has that much more to offer then just "survive with DH" or "nerver risk getting heared with IW", you must just leave your comfort zone and see how much fun a blastmine/flashbang combo build or a houdini build can be.
Yes, people with hearing disabilities got boosted by spine chill, now they should get some better hearing aid. /s
-
Yea survivor isnt dead, solo q is close to it though.
It's funny how when solo q players complain about something we get told "you don't like challenges" but when killers do it over everything and anything it's fair and ok.

If you think OTR is healthy then you are off your head. It's literally a more broken version of DS. (also making killers have an even harder time to find survivors with scratch disappearing super early, will only make them want to tunnel and camp more but we'll have to see just how fast the disappearing is tbf)
Please quote me where I said anything was "healthy".
And I love the usual excuse "this will only make killers camp and tunnel more" like they dont do that already without any excuse.
-
Anything is better than current Freddy. And I'm saying this as someone who has maind him since I got the game years ago.
-
Insidious is only good for camping. I know someone is going to tell me how there can be some amazing giga brain play with insidious, but in thousands of hours I have never seen it once.
It really depends on what you want to do: if you want to camp? insidious. If you want to play normally? Monitor.
-
I'm speaking from a solo survivor perspective, but all this patch did was buff killers to compete better against SWF. Lower tier killers like trapper, myers etc will still struggle against SWF.
With all these changes, and no improvements to solo q (no, basekit BT is not enough), the only people who will do fine are mid to top tier killers and SWF.
I think the reason there's so many praise on the forums is because killer mains on here are more vocal. The same people that spammed the forums with "nerf DH" are the same ones praising the patch.
-
Freddy to be reverted to old Freddy and for them to lower the time it took to put survivors asleep + gen teleport

Right here.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3021568#Comment_3021568
This implies that because of changes to "looping" which entails the buffs to killer swing cooldowns and pallet breaking, as well as the nerf to survivor on hit speed boosts are the cause of just sitting on a generator because "what else are you supposed to do" Well, not loop because that's been nerfed.
I don't think "genrushing" is a thing. If you don't force survivors off of generators, there's no reason for them not to just keep doing them and leaving. Only a sparse minority would want to look for the killer just to get into a chase if they didn't have a challenge for anything related to that.
I just eye roll at statements like this that imply that you're "genrushing" because Behaviours changes in the upcoming patch are going to "leave you no choice".
Stating a fact isn't whining. Are the patch notes whining to you?

I should’ve thought about players with hearing issues. Sorry maybe than it shouldn’t be nerfed.
All they had to do is make it not work against undetectable killers. With the nerf they're giving it not only will it be useless for people with hearing problems but also wont do much for ghostface and myers since they have to be in the LOS to stalk anyway.
-
@Object said:
It's the same as colourblind people. They also had to wait over 4 years for changes, because apparently it will make "advantages" to people without that issue. I'm not sure why should we not do the same for people with hearing problems.
It's quite funny that when it came to color blind people killers were supportive of getting different colors for auras because it didnt affect them but now since they feel spine chill affects them they don't care about disabled people anymore. Just goes to show what they really are worried about.

It’s a very weak survivor build. Looks like you are low MMR because facecamping only works at that elo.
Try this instead for solo :
- iron will
- deliverance
- ds
- dead hard
Play as selfish as possible, use every pallets if you have too. You will eventually get to a decent MMR where survivors know what they are doing.
3 of those perks are getting nerfed next week, and you're telling them to use them?
