With kill rates already being below expectations, buffing solos to SWF levels first, seems like a great idea to get rid of a frustrated killer base.
Cute how you ignored the second part of such a small phrase, but i'll copy paste it here for you, "and then buff killers."

Thread is about being a cool player, survs could do that too. Hell if one stopped running, I would probably let them go. IDK maybe meme and have fun? shine a flashy at the glyph and crouch?

you know, like this?
nah that is asking too much
No, the thread is about killers who let survivors get glyphs, not about cool players or victim mentality.

What a silly take. A perk that gets countered by another perk you are using is not the definition of useless. It means DO NOT RUN THOSE PERKS TOGETHER.
It simply shouldnt be a thing, unless it's a meme perk like no mither.

@DrDeepwound said:
Problem is, I have not ONCE seen a single survivor stop running when I am getting a glyph.
Not ONCE. But I have let survs get them..
Survivors arent able to stop you from getting them. That's the difference. You can get them without someone else stopping you.

Yes and yes.
And they are not useless. Useless is just this forum's favorite way of saying a perk is no longer god tier.
It is useless. A perk that gets countered by another perk that you yourself is using it's the definition of useless. It's like using no mither with self care.

As I said, they probably weren't happy with the kill rates. Just imagine if solos had the same escape rates as SWF.
Killers would have to receive massive buffs.
That's why you buff solos to SWF level and then buff killers.

Nobody is abusing a perk just by virtue of using it, no.
But that does not mean perks cannot be abused.
Sticking CoH at a distant safe loop, and then running to that safe space after every hit while another team mate takes aggro and repeats that process, puts the game in a stalemate that the killer cannot resolve. Only by committing to an unwinnable chase, in order to snuff out that totem, and thereby guarantee they lose the final gen. After which the illusive booner can just rebless and repeat.
With sufficiently coordinated survivors, this is as unplayable for the killer as a Boil Over in the corner with no hooks within 50m, and is tantamount to taking the game hostage.
Is that 'abuse'? I suppose it depends on the intentions of the survivors, which isn't possible to confirm, but fairly easy to infer.
Just do bones then.

It baffles me how you are literally doing just the thing you complained at me for doing. It's like fighting a team in Team Fortress 2 with SIX engineers and FOUR SNIPERS. Sure! It's in the game, it sure is a part of the game to not have class limits.
.........Does that mean it is fun and fair though. Does that mean that this is an INTENDED DESIGN and not more likely developer oversight, that an inattentive dev team failed to address and in the case of BHVR, is intentionally taking as much time as possible to address because they fear if they acted quickly, they would instantly get backlash and people would start quitting the game and playing it a lot less? Sure, for a very low MMR like yours where you said yourself that you don't care much about being outplayed, these balance issues never really become a big, sore problem. For higher MMRs where I'm currently playing though, you will find that it literally physically becomes UNWINNABLE UNLESS YOU run annoying builds that you would never wanna fight and use Killers with either good anti-looping, very good gen pressure, a ranged ability or an instadown. Let's call this the Killer Formula.
Notice how I never complained about Dead Hard btw. Dead Hard was never a deciding factor in a game between me completely losing and completely winning, but Boon: Circle of Healing for example is a whole different story. Can completely delete any progress I achieve, which can take up to 2 minutes sometimes, of wounding all 4 Survivors. VERY important, decisive perk choice that can destroy any Killer that isn't using the Killer Formula and just wants to have fun.
Aren't you the guy that wants old moris back? Why do you care about "fun" and "fair"?

I think the nerf is more then fair. We can all agree that the 100% was too OP. Specially for killers that need audio like Spirit. 75% is still pretty great. You can't hear much but atleast you can hear now.
"We can all agree" no we cant. I don't agree.
Though I think it being reduced to 75% is fine, but it not working when exhausted was overkill.

I did. For me, the event was near perfect. The only thing devs could improve for future events is, that the event items have the same bloodweb id as the event offerings. Killers got 3-4 flans per bloodweb, while survivors got 1 flan and a couple of event items.
That needs to change to make it fair for everyone.
What wasnt fair?

Which was better, since survivors didn´t get the crown to instantly suicide to end the match.
This also showed how fast survivors are really, when its about completing gens.
I didn't say it was better or worse.

Yeah, if people should start playing more CoH instead of Selfcare, they will definitely nerf it again. But at the moment Im not sure, if the selfcare enthusiasts give up their lovely perk.
I've already seen at least 2 threads after this patch complaining about inner healing. People cant switch to other perks without those perks getting complained about too.

It is one of the top three most run survivor perks throughout this game's entire history. It is a bad perk that a lot of people run, so if you want to get people to stop running it, your only real avenues are to buff its alternatives or nerf it directly. Since its alternatives are already better, some of them to a pretty staggering degree, buffing them is a very dangerous game; making nerfing it directly the smarter choice.
If you buff Self-Care, more people will run it. That is the opposite of what is wanted here. You may disagree with that goal, but that is what this patch is for.
As for solo queue being negatively affected in this patch, it is not a fact. Solo queue overall was improved, not denigrated.
You are delusional if you think solo q was improved in this patch. Like I said this convo isnt going anywhere, you have your mind set on thinking self care needed a nerf and that solo q was improved so we just can agree to disagree.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039522#Comment_3039522
Where on earth did you get those two ideas from? I think Self-Care is a bad perk. Now. On live servers. That's kind of why it had to get nerfed, its alternatives were already better and thus couldn't be buffed that hard without risking making them broken. "Not useless" does not, in any way, translate to "good". It translates to "not useless".
As for solo queue, I don't think it's fine in general, I think it wasn't negatively affected by this patch unduly, because it wasn't. There's a gigantic difference between those two statements.
Your logic: some alternatives are good, so lets nerf the bad one. ???????????????
It was negatively affected in this patch, it is a fact.

Cry babies, more sensible people, content creators, random comments...
Just because you didn't want it doesn't make it a bad idea, nor the sole domain of idiots who should be discarded out of hand.
Content creators, you mean like 3 of them, which were the cry babies get all their opinions from, watching videos instead of playing the game for themselves? True, maybe those content creators too.
It was a bad idea for solo q, but like you've said before, you think solo q is fine, so it's not like this convo is going anywhere anyway, since you also think self care is a good perk.

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but people were being very loud about wanting a meta shakeup. This is what that looks like, so there's a clear line of logic to why things got nerfed.
Who is "people"? Cry babies on the forums? Yes, they were very loud indeed.

@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039424#Comment_3039424
But they didn't do that, did they?
Self-Care isn't useless, you can still stack it with Botany and a good medkit for some pretty solid heal speeds and you can still use it the way higher-skilled players do (EG, healing a little bit at a time, often during chase). It's just even less appealing to bring on its own to heal all at once. Which, y'know, it should be. The point is for people not to run it anymore.
Yes they did. Self care is indeed useless. A perk isnt good if it requires you to bring an item or another perk to even be useful, and even then, really not that useful, at all.
Healing during a chase with new self care will only work against new killers who dont know what theyre doing.
Yea, the point of the nerfs were so people wouldnt use them anymore, which I think it's really stupid, at best.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039434#Comment_3039434
Selfcare on it's own is hurting your team more than anything, at least run botany with it. But you can use medkits, inner healing etc. Which are the best ways to heal.
Or... you can stay injured, you dont have to be constantly healthy. Let's say you selfcare just twice with sloppy active, that's 1 full gen you could of finished instead
Staying injured was already my go to, but now with iron will nerf I'm not up to hear the moaning 24/7 so i'll just use COH until that also gets nerfed again
-
Sounds like bias to me.
You're playing a murderer on a video game, it doesnt make you more mature just for that.

@Gindaen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039423#Comment_3039423
For solo queue, there is no adequate replacement for Self-Care. It's the most slot efficient, reliable healing perk for solo queue. With SWF, any of the other healing perks are fine. Heck, with SWF, I've ran no healing perks at all and done well. I'd never try that in solo queue, I've had too many teammates that just leave me hurt.
At this point is better to just bring COH or a medkit.

Honestly they should show perks, itd bring solo and swf closer together (which the devs want) as you can see a bunch of their perks, like Deliverance which I love running but no one knows I have it.
But yeah I'd insta dodge selfcare players, I'm sorry but if the SBMM actually worked I wouldn't be matched with them in the first place. They already make the games incredibly hard and when I see players barely doing gens or dont last long in case they have selfcare...
This patch will just expand that issue, like they could at least run botany but nooooo
I think it's still bad awful with botany. 2 perks to have 1 crap tier perk like before (old self care) + having to have kindred and bond on your build. Then no space for DS/OTR so just gonna get tunneled out of the game. Not worth it.

Hopefully a lot so the stats show how ridiculous it is.

They don't because Killers don't escape. :P
But in all seriousness, I don't think they should get a free kill either. The only times that really happens, though, are when a Killer is camping with an instadown (which should be looked at and dealt with by devs if possible) and if the Killer locks the gates with Bloodwarden at the proper time (which is 100% able to be played around and entirely on the Survivors if it happens).
Was a typo, fixed now.
A killer doesnt have to be an instadown to down an already injured person though. So if the killer still goes for the unhooked it will be a free kill.
