Well we also got a brand new Bubba, with only 1 perk equipped who DC'd almost immediately because he couldn't catch anyone, so I'm willing to bet that dude wasn't having a very good time either.
This is not a thread about new killers/survivors going against people with thousands of hours. This is a thread about solo q survivors like myself having people in their teams with less than 2% of playtime than themselves and being stuck at low MMR without a way to get it higher without having to hide in a bush all game and pray to the gods that the gates are far away from each other and the killer is slow or simply just going SWF, which is not a possibility for me.

I only solo que and do just fine, though the last two days after the PTB have been rather rough. I played about 7 killer games without getting a single kill, just getting straight ######### on by the survivors, and also getting the beat down by killers. Then, like magic everything turned around and the games became much more enjoyable and fun to play. My guess is the MMR leveled itself out. Hopefully after the update thing will be better because I had a much more enjoyable experience over there.
I'm glad you arent getting players with 20 hours so i guess you're doing "fine".

But hatch does prevent you getting sacrificed, and that's a must if you're going to crawl out of the SoloQ basement. And I'm not suggesting your a potato, I'm suggesting you bring the best possible loadout to hatch/escape every game so you can start getting somewhat better teammates. That aura reading, while not necessary, is a huge plus if the killer is looking for you around tall objects and you want to make sure they never see you.
I don't mind getting sacrificed. The only thing that bothers me about it is because I know it will lower my MMR and put me with new players again. If I knew my MMR was able to get higher by simply playing the game (winning chases, doing gens, doing saves) I wouldn't care about getting sacrificed at all. I'm at a point that BP is not even important to me anymore since I only missing p3 50 3 killers currently, everyone else is there already.
I might have to start using wake up again like someone suggested, since my main goal right now is not get hatch, but do get a gate and escape though one so it actually hopefully starts getting higher again.

It's possible to escape, but you may not like the playstyle it requires. I'm always split from the rest of my team and always on a gen. Super safe in chases and only take chase id the killer actually patrols to me and finds me. And I always run Wake Up to open the gate and gain MMR if it comes down to a hatch situation. It has saved me countless times.
I guess I'll have to try wake up and ig add spinechill to that too for the end game gates by myself...

I mostly have a SWF, but I've genuinely been considering a SoloQ build for when I'm bored:
Distortion, Clairvoyance, Lucky Break (You have to lose the chase, if you don't, the whole strat is pointless), Circle Of Healing or Self Care, bring a key with a fat aura addon.
Bless first and foremost, break chases as soon as possible, only go on the safest gens. Stay immersed, identify hatch. If you can hatch every game, the few gate escapes you get will raise your MMR. It would be a slog but at low MMR against trappers and onis I don't see it being impossible.
I don't really have a problem with having my aura read and losing the killer in chase. I'm not an amazing pro but I think I'm not a potato either.
It's not even about people being bad at chases right now, it's them just giving up. They dont even try.
And like someone else said and you know, hatch is not gonna get me to a higher MMR so what is the point. Staying here or going lower it's gonna be the same at this point imo.
-
The average solo q experience these past 2 days. This happening as we speak, one elodie just sandbagged everyone else because she didnt like going against a blight.

I think those are instances of the matchmaker trying to "balance" the lobby and split the difference between lower MMR survivors, higher MMR survivors, and an average killer.
If that is the case, I'd to see them move away from that matchmaking condition. It just doesn't work. It's unfun for everyone in that lobby. The inexperienced survivors are way overmatched and the experienced survivors are frustrated that they're losing to what is in all likelihood a much worse killer than them.
Yea it's not like I'm getting potato killers either, but lately I've been getting a lot more onis/trappers when I was mostly getting blights and nurses before.
If matchmaking really is working, I'm really low on it and it's impossible to escape this now unless I play swf

I would wait for the patch, maybe they backpedal in some decissions or decide to push stuff that wasnt supposed to be released yet because backlash, I strongly recomend keep making the "I FEEL MISERABLE AND I WANT TO CRY WHILE SOLO!!" threads going, they worked for Killers so theyll work for us Solos too eventually, we have a saying here "those who dont cry dont get breastfeed" (essentially those who dont/wont complain wont get attention).
Other than that and seeing the last survey I would be kissing Solo byebye, mainly because there were a lot of questions related to "an option to keep playing with random Survivors Ive been paired with" and stuff like that, like they intend to "force" people to SWF or at least a patched-up watered down version of SWF.
I hate to be negative but from experience even if people cry enough about something the devs have too much pride to understand when they overdid something.
Just look at billy and deathslinger nerfs, when old animations and UI came out etc. PTB is just a showcase, they barely change anything from PTB to live.

They wont. They needed to "investigate" someone who was calling people slurs in direct messages but me saying "delete yourself" as a joke to a FRIEND? Perma ban and cant appeal.

Deathslinger didn't need to be nerfed. Only thing he needed was a sound cue to when he points his harpoon like huntress does when she lifts her hatchet up.

I don’t think insidious hides the killers aura at least from what i’ve read.
It does

Kindred should be basekit.
Idk why people say it shouldn't show killer's aura, it literally only punishes the killer if they're camping. If you want to camp freely use insidious since it hides your aura.

It never occurred to me to but Lightborn and Shadowborn together. Something I'd try if I wasn't wary of getting used to it.
If you need to take a breath, a few basement Bubba matches may be a good cure.
As soon as the game starts, try to discretely enter the basement and wait there in hiding with Insidious, Lightborn, Monstrous Shrine and NOED (You'll get salt in the chat whatever you do, let's not be shy. )
I have a couple of favorite spots and it's sometimes hilarious to wait there to see a survivor enter slowly to loot the chest or find the killer and see them panic when the chainsaw jump-starts. It's also better for the plays to not get out of the basement (there are exceptions though)
It's sometimes boring but it can be a lot of fun when it clicks.
I've played a few good games like this where the survivors enjoyed the surprise and the panic. I've versed a most promising player in such a match. One was on the hook and they all came down as I was coming up with the chainsaw. Two got downed instantly, she ran and I have chase. Seeing her mind at work trying to escape tracking was very enjoyable. (And yes, I gave her hatch. I'm not doing that to be annoying.) In the chat she said she liked the plays even if, from what her friend said, she was screaming and panicking non-stop during.
If someone needs to take a breath, the best remedy is to turn off the game and go something else to relax and cool down and then come back.
If for you taking a "breath" is doing something that "it's sometimes boring" just to get "salt" I think you have more serious issues that need to be addressed.

Here's proof:
-
And the comments in this thread just show how the hive mind in these forums work.
Tunnel and camp? You deserve it because you're toxic/survivors op/i can only win if i camp/tunnel
Survivors using meta perks to stop these cheap tactics? No skill, these perks need to be nerfed etc
@Nikatara69 My best advice is to just start using meta perks and playing SWF. Most killer players dont care about your fun so you shouldnt either.

The only good parts of the PTB were the changes to Calm Spirit, Iron Will, and Spine Chill. Calm Spirit permanently removes an entire killer tracking method, for the entire game. It absolutely deserves a downside.
LOL. That's all I have to say really.

Probably already there. Awful team mates but still decent killers. Sucks.

Reporting isn't going to stop them from getting the penalty, though. Hostage-taking is bad enough when you can't use it to grief someone into their next game.
This isn't a bad idea on the whole, but it definitely would need some fine-tuning so that it doesn't hit players for the wrong reasons, and I'm not sure pinpoint accuracy is even possible here. I also don't like the idea of linking it to crows when killers who spend the entire match AFK are just as undesirable and should be flagged as well.
I also DC when going against hackers. Do I deserve the DC penalty there? No.
Give killers crows too then.

@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
Yeah, good idea to get a penalty when you get bled out or bodyblocked in a corner. You're really running the engine at full capacity wth that idea.
This is why bodyblocking shouldnt be a thing either. If a survivor has crows they should have no collision for other survivors.

The nerf to survs was great and buff to killers was mid, killers like pyramid-trickster and doctor still need buff, atleast pyramid with less slow speed to put sword on the ground and trickster. DS got balanced and Thana and gift of pain got buffed in the right ammount, no amount of salt change that, use OTR if bothered.
Average "I'm a survivor main" forum user.
-
No, they went overkill.
Self care was already mediocre and only ok to use in solo q, nerfed into crap.
Iron Will should have been fixed so breathing noises worked all the time instead of being silenced. If they wanted to make it from 100% to 75%, sure. But + not working when exhausted? Overkill.
Spine Chill only needed to deactivate when killers are undetectable, but instead, they butchered it too and now HoH and deaf people cant use it either.
-
@INoLuv said:
The game got even more balanced for killers, it was needed, no whine needed, i am a survivor main and when i play killer i feel how hard it is, as surv must of the times the match was lost was because of mediocre plays by me or another survivor
If you're a mediocre survivor that's a you problem. I'm not mediocre and solo q is still garbage :)

It's a legit perk.
If it was abusable or exploitable right now it would have been kill switched.

I'm really hoping we can get a trans character next. Or maybe NB/genderfluid. I see a lot more gay representation out there than I did ten years ago (lesbian secondary, unfortunately, but it's still fairly emergent), but while sexualities are getting more comfortable in the mainstream, gender... really isn't. At least, it's nowhere near as far along. Mainstream trans rep in particular is virtually nowhere to be found. I can't overstate enough just how impactful the sheer normalizing power of representation in media is. Exposure passively gets people more comfortable with concepts they don't understand to the point where they stop recognizing them as divergent or 'other.'
Also, when Ace Claudette got brought up, I had to do a double take because that headcanon is so firmly entrenched that I forgot it wasn't actual canon. Look, I read one really amazing DBD fanfic and it got duct-taped to the inside of my head, okay. But seriously, yes - as another ace woman, it fits Claudette to a T.
This is all I want.
Gay/Lesbian/Bi people already have representation in a lot of media, but trans people I rarely see anything. There’s one trans man in the game Tell Me Why and one in the show Shameless but besides that I don’t know of anything else.
With the increase in representation it normalises people and also educates the ones who are unaware.
If you tell someone you’re gay, it is pretty clear what you mean by that.
I hope you day the same can be said about being trans. Just being another addictive to who you are without having to explain what it is/means.

Actually I think they are lgbtq
While there is a difference between transgender and a cross-dressers
Here is some interesting history
I think people who cross dress are considered transvestites, it was a term coined by a sex researchers and it's means a person who dress as the opposite gender either in public or in private. The researchers gave them transvestite cards so they wouldn't be hassled by the police. The term unfortunately feel out of uses since it's used to describe any cross dressing and became derogatory.
Transgender is a term coined in the 1960s and its used to describe someone's who's gender identity doesn't match their gender at birth or sex.
Drag is an entertainment form. The original term was female impersonator. It is differently apart of lgbtq as a lot of drag queens are lgbtq people and has been populated by lgbtq people.
I think its fine to call a straight cisgender person who does drag lgbtq since they should be considered transvestites.
Transvestites isn’t the same thing as trans/transgender/transexual. It’s actually considered a slur against trans people.

I think this is fair. I do think cross dressers should have representation, but it probably will be appropriate to make their own separate community.
That’s fair and fine. My problem is it being under LGBT+ representation.

There are different, but they both have something in common: they aren’t straight or/and cisgender.

Drag queen isn’t an identity. I don’t have to be one to know what a drag queen is.

„All these people“? I don’t have any numbers but I don’t think actual crossdressers make up more than trans people for example…
i don’t think we are talking about the same kind of people here.
i have stated several times I am not referring to a man that just crossdresses once for fun and then never again. I am talking about crossdressers that actually feel uncomfortable and are having struggles etc.
and this is not about talking trans down. Actually including them would help to make differentiations between them more clear and point out the individual struggles these groups have to go through.
The best way to show the differences between trans people and cis straight crossdressers is for the later to not be in the LGBT+ community. That's the difference.

you don't know how they feel, and how they live with that so, you should stop assuming things.
If they are cisgender and straight yes I know what they feel, they are men who like women and like to put women's clothes on for a show.
That's literally what a cis straight drag queen is.
-

would be good if you stopped saying that drag are just people who like to wear different clothes since you are not in their category and don't know how they feel about it.
trans people are not alone in the LGBTQ+ community, everyone should be recognized equally for who they are, no one is above the other.
Cisgender Straight drag queens literally are only dressing as woman.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3045834#Comment_3045834
I'm not trying to be contrary or stir anything, but I do think it is important to have a distinction between what is and isn't LGBTQ+.
Like I've seen cishet "alt" people going around saying the f-slur and stuff and justifying it by saying "Well it's fine because I'm queer."
One of my old friends from school was also trans and CONSTANTLY had people calling her the wrong stuff (e.g. slurs, crossdresser, fairy etc.) because in the eyes of transphobes drag/cross-dressing is synonymous with trans. As LGBT people, we know what we're referring to when talking about drag as opposed to someone being transgender, but to people outside of the community it often gets misconstrued and causes problems.
Which is why I think it's important to emphasize that drag does not necessarily = LGBTQ+.
That's exactly my problem with it.
By including all these people just because they want to dress different clothes it will just make it more difficult for trans people like myself to be understood.
Idk how many times I've seen people think trans people are just "man in woman's clothes" and whatever else.
As a trans person, my own experience, I'm going through medical transition, I had to come out to friends/family with the fear of being disowned just so I can be who I am on my day to day life.
Most crossdressers dont have to deal with any of these things, coming out, being disowned, because they can just put it on and off. Trans people cannot.

Groups do exist and identity matters, but (and I am not necessarily accusing you of this) strict gatekeeping and infighting amongst subdivisions of generally oppressed/marginalized demographics only serves to harm the whole and benefit the oppressor(s).
Distilling groups down to their exact compositions and deciding who belongs in what box is a secondary concern to the larger issue.
Causes being undermined by infighting is a tale as old as history, and you see it play out anywhere people are oppressed.
Not accusing you of this either, but that's the same thing people on twitter say who want to include pedos in the LGBT+ community.

Oh now it is irrelevant? It was all the discourse was about, if they are part of LGBT+ or not, so no it is not irrelevant.
