Survivors should not get a borderline free escape during the endgame, simple.
By that logic killers should not get a borderline free kill during end game
-
Yea the worst time to play this game is right after event. Not worth getting these miserable BP gains after getting so many for a week.
-
I can only speak for myself but as someone who only does solo q these are the reasons I will give up:
I spawn in and someone fast vaults near me right away;
Someone is using a flashlight macro and spamming it at me;
Someone drops a pallet randomly without in being in chase;
Someone keeps missing skill checks;

Oh, I care. My gal is hearing-impaired. She plays. I just suspect that many people chiming in don't care about her or those like her. Call it a hunch. To me, reading through the many posts about this already, it seems clear that this is being used to try and leverage the Perk and get one's way and had little do to with genuine concern.
You seem to care more about people using it as an excuse than HoH/Deaf people getting a viable way to keep on playing the game.
As someone who is HoH I don't care if people join me with secondary intentions or not as long as we get the accessibility we need to be able to enjoy the game like everyone else.
-
@Wondertainment said:
I'm going to be honest to the point of blunt. This game relies so much on sound to be effective that I can't imagine we have a huge number of the hearing-impaired playing it. If they are playing it, they have developed preternatural skills way beyond what Spine Chill imparts. I can't help but think that MOST of the people invoking the hearing-impaired to try and save the Perk's current format are doing so for selfish reasons and could care less about the wedge they are trying to use. I find that contemptible.
Is this a valid issue? Sure. Why don't we leave it the people with the disability and the DEV to figure out. It is unseemly for the rest of us to be chiming in on it for ulterior motives. It is clear the DEV are already revisiting the Perk and will adjust. Why don't we wait and see how that goes? They have always proven in the past to be particularly attuned and interested in that kind of game viability. It is just kind of annoying to me to hear people weighing in whose real reason is they want to be jamming out to some tunes rather than listening to the game.
You shouldn't make so many baseless assumptions.

Stake Out already does this, starts filling up when you enter the killer's terror radius.
The problem with that is that once you have all the stacks it stops working.

Only if the killer has direct line of sight...when the killer is in full stealth, there's no terror radius so that part of the perk will not be active.
So even if a killer is undetectable, per example wraith is invisible, if he is in direct line of sight spine chill will light up?
-
@Mandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029789#Comment_3029789
The visual update part will show the strength of the Terror Radius by being paler and then getting stronger.
You're thinking of Spine Chill right now with lighting up etc, not with the proposed change.
Oh ok, so the LOS indication will be different than the terror radius one
-
I think if they always showed stats when making claims about them, why not show them this time? I think it's only fair to be consistent.
-
@Mandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029767#Comment_3029767
From my understanding the terror radius part is not connected to the LOS part...which is where it makes the perk accessible for hard of hearing players.
But if it only lights up when the killer is in LOS, how will it show different strengths of TR when the killer isnt? that's what's confusing to me
-
@brokedownpalace said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029734#Comment_3029734
It literally makes no sense whatsoever. The devs are so adamant on "changing the meta" that they will completely destroy this perk regardless of feedback
If it really only works in LOS still it's going to be useless for HOH/Deaf players.

Not to mention that there is pretty much nothing for killers when it comes to deaf players.
There used to be until they nerfed Stridor. It used to be on all my builds since it helped me a lot at tracking survivors. Only was good for HoH and not deaf players though.
-
@Mandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029725#Comment_3029725
Yes. But we will have a visual indicator of terror radius however it will not be in the PTB, hopefully that will be done before Live.
I don't understand how this is going to help HoH/Deaf players, since most of us only have hearing issues, not visibility issues.
I feel like making it only work with LOS defeat the whole point again and the indicator of the terror radius being strong or not wont help with anything, since we can use your vision to see if the killer is far away or not...
-
@Mandy said:
I want to clear something up with regards to Spine Chill.
The perk is going to work exactly as we stated in the Dev Update, with the line of sight requirements...however we are adding a visual indicator for the strength of the terror radius. This is down to the amount of accessibility comments that we have received. This is also not a permanent solution - we are working on accessibility improvements and when something has been implemented, that part of Spine Chill will be removed.
Sorry for the confusion caused around this. And we do agree, it's not ideal for players to have to run a perk in order to play the game.
So it will only work with LOS again?

I'll be the judge of how great it is during the PTB. if it's crap, I'll be uninstalling since I wont be able to play the game anymore without great difficulty. Not worth the stress and ive already started playing other games that don't have the same server instability on top of it. My future entertainment via DBD will come from killer's screaming about the over population of SWFs and watching certain streamers if at all.
The PTB version wont be the most updated version.

You must not know the definition of complaining, but do go on... I linked the thread you claim did not exist LUL
The thread you linked is from a deaf player sharing their struggles with the first iteration of the spine chill update, which since then has been updated to this one. So like I said, the only mention of the most recent spine chill update was just in the comments, so I made a thread for people to find it easily and directly.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029637#Comment_3029637
Nope, in fact, we already had/have a nice thread about this topic, you just wanted to start another one.
I have and will continue to support accessibility in this game, I myself wear glasses when playing due to my vision (wearing them now to see the screen text as I type) so for you to even insinuate that I do not support these things is a bit shallow. However, I CAN and will point out the Spine Chill changes were done to stop crab walking.... then reverted and we still crab walk.
You can find my support here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331253/spine-chill-change-being-deaf
And you're still complaining.
And no, there was no thread about the update in specific, it was mentioned on the comments on another thread but it wasn't the thread itself, so making one it's easier for people to see it directly instead of having to fish out information from comments.

That rules! Also global terror radius build doctor will be triggering it from across the map, which is just as funny in the opposite way.
Super happy with this proposed change! I think its way more important for stealth killers to be able to evade this perk than, say, a nurse.
This change is pretty fair since no one will be aware of undetectable killers/perks but also wont make HoH/Deaf people at an disadvantage. I'm pretty happy with it.
-
@Mozic said:
This seems like a favorable shift even beyond the boundaries of continuing to provide assistance to HoH folks - won't it being terror radius based mean that an undetectable killer with direct line of sight wouldn't activate it now? (Meyers Tier 1, Ghost Face stalking)
Undetectable killers and perks wont make Spine Chill activate

The perk countering undetectable was wrong. This is a fair change.
That's the only thing they should have done with it, make it not work with undetectable since HoH/Deaf people wont have a disadvantage there since there's no sound for anyone.
I do hope they remove the cooldown though.

Can it at least be looking directly in the survivors direction, instead of “is in the field of view on my monitor”, so I’m not forced to crabwalk 33 meters to every generator? I’m ok with awkwardly moving diagonally if I can still see if any survivors are running away, but being forced to walk completely sideways or backward for 33 meters fells terrible.
No one is forcing you to do anything. If you're undetectable it wont light up.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
"Spine Chill will now only activate if the Killer has a clear line of sight to the Survivor. This will remove the awkward counterplay where the Killer must look away to ensure a stealthy approach."
SIKE! you guys still gotta crab walk across map
You really complaining about a feature to help hoh/deaf people just because it makes you have to make a bit more effort to get closer to survivors?
And like it was said in the clip, it wont work on undetectable.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
This is an improvement, but better idea altogether woudld be just not nerf it in the first place IMO.
I agree, but at this time I'd rather have this than whatever the hell that other option with the LOS was.
I wonder if it will only light up when the killer is looking in your direction or just by being in the terror radius? And if it will still have a cooldown? Devs?
-
@Valik said:
They may have had a change of heart.
The biggest concern is redundancy.
If there are icons, why do survivors need core information perks? What good are information perks?
Knowing Behavior, they often lock these kinds of updates behind perks. You may see in the next couple patches a 'Inner Information' perk that allows survivors to see the icons of their allies interactions.
By that logic, if killers recovery from hit attacks is faster in basekit and so is breaking pallets, why do they need brutal strength and STBL?
-
Yea I dont get these two nerfs and the calm spirit and pharmacy "buffs"
-
Yea it's not really worth it to watch at all so far.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Best advice I can give is to run stake out or premonition. Stake out gives a visual indication if you are in TR and premonition still works through walls
But yeah the devs should add a visual heartbeat like dbd mobile has imo
Doesnt stack out stop working when it's maxed out on stacks?
-
That feng and dwight skins are amazing

My queue time is instant so might be a you problem

@Gorgonia said:
You have been crying about this for days... you will be much more effective in chases, you won't have any chase-counters nor will you lose survs anymore because they use IW... what else do you want?
They want easy kills.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331034/gen-speed-nerf-is-useless-and-a-joke
Agreed there should be basekit corrupt intervention and make it permanent so survivors literally can't do more than 4 gens until 2 survivor are dead and then the other gens unblock
Is this a joke?

DS can extend another 4sec chase against Nurse. Its still be Meta.
DS stun was reduced to 3 seconds + the second it takes for the survivor to end the animation from DS. So no it wont be meta. Specially not against nurse.
-
@Kaitsja said:
OTR will be meta. I'm guessing the meta is probably going to be OTR, DS, CoH or Lucky Break and either Dead Hard, Sprint Burst or Overcome.
DS will not be meta at all it was overnerfed.

What kind of logic is this, they are never allowed to do something about overpowered use of perks because it may nerf soloQ players?
Oh now it's ok to do overpowered changes? I thought everyone was against overpowered dead hard. Seems things being overpowered is only ok when it's against soloq

I’d love to see a kill rate by MMR graph similar to the perk usage by MMR graphs they did in the big perk update blogs.
Yea I would also like to see that. Idk why they show graphs all the time but this time to show that kills are low they didnt show it.
-
If I go against a legion and see the thana icon I'll just go near a hook and afk. Not worth it.
I prefer fast paced matches, even if it's everyone dying quickly, than pressing m1 on a gen just to see the red bar go by too slow.

"Last time they showed stats" have nothing to do with recent dev post stating kill rates were too low. Kill rates are not 50% anymore they are so low they won't even show the stats. Old stat graphs are meaningless in current meta
So why not show the graph with the stats this time?

-
@DrDeepwound said:
Because since then killrates plummeted below their threshold, most likely below 50% since thats their target goal. So my guess is they holding back giving survs even more buffs at the moment.
Solo Q needs a buff. Solo escape rates were already below 50%.
Last time they showed kill rates every killer was above 50%, and if the difference between solo and SWF survivability is 10-15%, just make the math there.
-

You are playing with randoms, don't expect anything but random results. If you refuse to socialize and play with others it's your choice. DBD is a multiplayer game, maybe you should play solo games instead.
You know what a multiplayer game is? it means there's other players. You telling solo players to just go play other games just shows you're bias and dont really care about solo q, so please dont @ me again because our conversations are always going to be very irrelevant.

Cleaning the table and exposing SoloQ like this is good, cause then BHVR can take action in making the game better for SoloQ.
like for instance, symbols that show what the team-members are doing.
They already know that solo q is awful, they just dont care, that's why they nerfed perks that also helped mostly solo q players like self care.

I'd only nerf her addons. that's about it.

I wanted to see killrates as well. Especially since they say that they are low. I remember Pinhead got add ons nerfed because he had high killrate, which was like 58-59% ?
I want to know what do they consider low, maybe below 50% ?
Yea I just find it kind of weird how they make a statement about rates but this time dont provide any stat image, specially considering that most killers if not all had kill rates above 50% already and now out of the blue they dont anymore? kinda sus

There are tons of survivors in the official discord. You have no excuse.
I'm not on the DBD official discord and I shouldnt have to be to not have miserable solo games :)
