agreed
matchmaking is as random as before bc not even the best/ really good survivors are @ high MMR
they probably should factor in hours/ time played? if they could?
plus a casual & ranked mode would be better so everyone in the lobby is playing w/ same mindset
2 modes a casual and ranked will never happen. Sweat lords would still go to casual mode, plus queue times would actually increase.

All the skilled survivor mains won't even notice the change to Spine Chill it's such a small nerf. Only players that can barely do anything besides M1 and need the game to force feed them all information will be hurt, they'll need to move to premonition
Quite ableist to say survivors with hearing issues don't have skill.

I just like the change. I rarely used it but it looks like it will still be a good perk.
You like something being nerfed because you never used it. Ok.
And no, it will be an awful perk. It will be useless for people with hearing issues like myself and many others.

ive entirely given up trying to win my games
theres no point in running the killer no more since it warrants a face camp I suppose or you just get left on hook to die
so now my build consist of:
-urban evasion
-bite the bullet
-self care
-spine chill
ive enjoyed my matches now since I let others carry me since it doesnt matter what I do as long as I escape right???
Well good luck with that since spine chill and self care got butchered. What are you going to replace those with?

Give the killers an option to play against 4 soloQ survivors for 1/2 BP or against SWF groups (2x/3x/4x BP depending on the team size), just so that killers might recharge their killer instinct after getting tilted by a bully squad, or at least know what they get themselves into if they like the challenge.
I dont see how killers choosing to go against solo or swf helps solo q survivors in any way?

I think the issue is matchmaking. I have 2k hours and, sometimes, I'm paired with people who have under 50 hours. I can clearly see we don't have the same experience.
It's fine to be a new player. I was one two years ago. But I'm expecting people with similar experience than me to be with and against me.
But let's see how it works during the PTB.
Same. 5500+ hours here and I've had random megs with 15 hours in my lobby.

Exactly. So don't make a post whining about the slight buffs to killers regarding pallet breaking and melee swing cooldowns being responsible for you "not looping" when you aren't going to get into a chase if you don't have to anyway.
Where did I whine about killer buffs? I dont care about the killer buffs, I just dont like the solo q nerfs.
And your post makes absolute no sense, you act like people have a choice if they get into chases or not. If a killer comes for me, I will have to get in a chase.

Why are you acting like you'd leave a generator to get into a chase if you didn't have to?
Finishing generators is what makes me escape, not getting into chases. If only gates got powered by being x time during the a chase... they dont

Did you know that changes in the game also affect solo q? almost like solo q is... part of the game?
Want to play dumb, I'll answer in the same way

You might have read the wrong patch notes then. Survivor, specially solo q, were nerfed in this patch.

Yet it was used by a lot of high tier players? And that last part is also not true, nor is there any evidence to support that. In fact it was so useful in high tier gameplay a lot of players who know how to use it correctly, have stated they're still going to run it. Because the reduced healing speed doesn't matter.
Because solo Q can also be high tier players. It was used because you cant rely on your team to heal you, not because it was high tier.
-
@Advorsus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3023313#Comment_3023313
On average, no. In the hands of a high tier survivor that knows how to use it effeciently, absolutely. Which is kinda where spine chill fell. But the point of the changes wasn't to take the strongest perks and Nerf them, it was to mix up the meta. Which means changing the most used perks. It just so happened that a lot of those most used perks were also some of the strongest.
Right now we have no idea how these perks will actually perform during each match as none of this is live yet. But even if certain perks are completely unusable, that doesn't mean they can't be tweaked/buffed later. I highly doubt this is the last time Behavior is gonna make perk changes.
Self care would never be high tier it doesnt matter who run it. It was also mostly run by solo q.

It stills fits a niche, even if its "meta" and used a lot.
Move along? condescending much or just afraid of talking with people who are not just "yes ma'am survivor bad killer good"?

My mmr and timezone have nothing to do with dev stats graphs that show Spine Chill is top 4 perk used by survs. You might want to relook at dev graphs used to justify these nerfs.
I did. So was self care. Is self care op?

IF the Devs actually balance the perks and not Gut or Hyper Buff them then alot of the whining on both sides SHOULD settle down ... But sadly there will ALWAYS be something to cry about and the Devs can't please everyone.
It's a bit late for that dont you think? In what world were a lot of these perks balanced and not gutted? Iron Will, Spine Chill, Calm Spirit, Pharmacy, DS, Corrupt, Ruin.... these were all gutted.

But you have to admit OTR got a crazy powerful buff and how many perks did get something to add endurance to the survivors. This goes back to our talk about the crazy nerfs Perks got as well.
That also will be nerfed, just wait for it. Then what?
-
@dugman said:
Dead Hard wasn’t buffed. This new version is completely useless in various scenarios that the current version works like dodging Deathslinger’s spear or going over Trapper’s traps or getting to a vault early to prevent a grab attempt. And in most cases it’s working basically the same way, guaranteeing you aren’t damaged as you reach a pallet or vault.
We'll see how it goes. If the only thing it is bad at now is against trapper's traps and deadslinger, wont be an issue since I rarely see those.

You have to be a real baby iron will spine chill where not only stealth perks otherwise no one would of used it at high mmr lol spine chill eleminates all kind of stealth killers and give in general way to many information
Iron will is the most used non exhaustion perk for a reason it eleminates every sound help in chase you can pull of the most fivehead mindgames for simply not having any sounds the foot steps do nothing
Self care its just deseverd maybe soloq will now get playable the amount of survs who self care against sloppy was insane maybe they stop using it now bc that takes over half of a Minute
And i just know that never played killer if you say that is a dead hard buff bruh come first away from ASH mmr before you bring such a nonsense up
Calling people babies for using certain perks. Yes I'm obviously a really bad survivor, with just 5500 hours... clearly a baby survivor.
I'm glad you decided to remove your brain before commenting here. Next time, make sure to keep it in your head.

Yea I mean physically it makes sense but as a game mechanic no not at all. I get they want to shake up the meta but there are other ways than gutting the Meta perks.
Iron Will should have just been fixed and make survivors still make breathing sounds. While running they could even increase the breathing sounds. That was it. No need to nerf the pain sounds or add an exhaustion condition.

2 perks instead of one for mostly solo q players, as well having to run kindred too.... so solo q players with hearing issues are able to have only 1 perk slot?
-
@VikingDragonXii said:
Here's the thing and first off I agree they went a little Nerf happy with IW and a few other perks......IW totally negated a major way Killers track and totally screwed over Spirit as that's the only way to track survivors besides scratch marks but that wasn't really reliable. IW also completely made Stridor useless because of the change the Devs made saying it was a "bug".
IW should of been changed to a 80-90% suppressed sounds while injured. That would of made everyone happy as survivors were not completely silent but still were quiet enough to hide. The can't be used while exhausted makes to feasible sense to me.
If it cant be used while exhausted it's going to be useless for people who use sprint burst.... the exhaustion part is the worst part of the nerf for me personally. It makes no sense at all.

You mean, that perk slot, you used to protect others from getting tunneled. Is freed up, to protect yoursef from getting tunneled.
Thats a huge difference! Especially on solo queue.
It’s still a perk slot for a bandaid in the base game :)

Looping got nerfed how? Shift + W for distance after getting hit got nerfed, and Iron Wills "stealth" is just being able to Shift + W away from any high wall loop randomly.
Though I agree sitting and glaring at a gen for 90 seconds is boring as hell. Personally I'd like an option where there were fewer skillchecks, but you did gens slower or something. Or maybe some kind of Technician Buff that'd let you semi AFK on gens without messing them up.
Spine Chill and Irol Will got nerfed and they were stealth perks.
Looping got nerfed because killers basekit chase got buffed (faster recovery from hits, bloodlust, breaking pallets faster).
You say sitting at the gen is boring, so you want to remove skill checks to make it even more boring and make the time even longer? Big brain moment

In a perfect world, we could see eachother's perks before the match, coordinate builds, and utilize some sort of chat wheel system to actually get some solid teamwork going.
My fingers are just as crossed as yours, man. It's why I run the "Jesus Christ stop dying" build.
They’d never show perks in the lobby. One time they showed ranks and removed it a day after because people were lobby dodging, same would happen with perks.

Sounds like a better deal than everyone just running absolute max survivability to me.
I've been the healer for basically every single one of my games: WMI, WGLF, BT, and Empathy. Would be nice to see other people run something other than the "I don't die ever" build.
Sounds like a better deal for SWF. What about solo Q?
-
@Tsulan said:
Solo queue will be fine.
Hell, it's fine now. Despite what most people here claim. Escape rates are higher then intended.
This won't change with basekit BT + SB.
I would even dare to say, that with the new tank builds, the escape rates will further increase.
Not a killer main saying that solo q is fine lol

What else are survivors supposed to do? Looping got nerfed so did stealth... might as well just genrush

If slinger is not that bad then so is iron will, both of them have been relegated to the other side being able to counter all of their aspects, why is one good and the other one bad?
They're both bad and crap nerfs that no one asked for and they overkilled them

So this is more of a you personally don't like the changes instead of how the changes will affect solos as a whole?
On another note, my teammates hook trade. Possibly, your MMR and region doesn't but mine does. Hook trading just got incentived though. Survivors screwing up if they don't doesn't mean they should get rewarded either.
I don't like the changes because I mostly play solo q. And 90% of solo q players also dont like the changes.

No, I'm not. Equip Off the Record and DS if you're that worried about. Now you get a haste boost for at least 5 seconds, an extra health state from Off the Record for 45 seconds, a post hit speed boost if I'm hit in that 45 seconds and then a DS stun after for up to 60 seconds.
If that's not enough for you to counter tunneling, I'm sorry, but the devs aren't going to make you invulnerable.
Equipping Off The Record with DS is dumb at best.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3021186#Comment_3021186
Hi! So:
Stealth: Off the Record and Lucky Break are also being changed in this very patch and are shaping up to be very strong, Shadow Step is pretty decent but has downsides, Bite the Bullet provides a particular type of stealth, and probably a few more that I'm forgetting.
Chase: Literally every exhaustion perk that isn't Dead Hard, though Dead Hard is looking to still be pretty decent, arguably Dark Sense, and all the tools that they already had for chase that were overshadowed by either Dead Hard or meta perks they felt were necessary to run that no longer are.
Tunnelling got addressed about as well as one can, pretty obviously. If the killer tries to hit you after you're unhooked, you get a speed boost, and that duration can be extended massively with one of a surprising number of sources of Endurance coming up.
Off The Record isnt stealth and Lucky Break was already a thing, and everyone with 2 functioning ears and a headset can still hear you so it's still useless. Lucky Break was only good paired with Iron Will.
Bite The Bullet was good with self care.... which was nerfed.
Dark Sense isnt a chase perk. I dont run dead hard, I run lithe and killer's chase was buffed basekit.
If this is your "as well as they can" for tunneling you have really low standards.

Well that's what happens when bhvr introduces a horrible mmr system WITH a soft cap. So you're mmr could be something like 4k points but bhvr soft capped it to somewhere in the mid 1000's and thats how they matchmake you.
That makes absolute no sense. Neither does the megs with 15 hours I get in my lobbies when I have crossplay on.
-
@jesterkind said:
Agreed.
I think a lot of the "this update kills solos" uproar comes from people assuming that specific perks are necessary to stand a chance in solo queue, and not perk types. Solo gets a buff in the form of not having to worry about their teammates farming or simply not having BT, they get more viable stealth and chase options, they get a neat new form of information for when the killer is coming at them (info that's much less useful in a SWF)... gens taking longer is gonna hurt, but clearly it needed to due to how fast gens were going.
Tunnelling got addressed very effectively, which helps solos since it's harder to coordinate a defence against that right now. Camping not so much, but hopefully that comes soon.
Where's the more viable stealth and chase options?
Tunneling did not get addressed effectively. You're Delusional.

I'm glad to see you addressed my points with a lot of insights and thoughts to counter my arguments.
I think all the other threads with the same points being addressed speak for themselves but I'll entertain it:
I rarely see noed in games, so we are obviously either not on the same MMR, or you're in a country/timezone where killers like to run noed.
In solo Q, with noed active, my team mates are not going to be altruistic, they're just leaving me to die on hook, so again nothing about noed really applies to my experience at all. Even without noed a lot of times team mates will just leave.
Basekit BT will not be great, sure it can get good with BT, but for that, we already had BT, so why put something basekit if you still need a perk to make it good?
Again, the hook trades only work in SWF. I thought you were talking about solo Q here.
I really have a hard time believing people who say they escape 60% of their matches in soloq. Yea, team mates being bad is the fault of your team mates, what does nerfing solo q will fix with that? nothing. No one is blaming the killer for solo q being bad.
Self care got nerfed, and with Botany, it will just be the same as old self care without botany, aka still trash but now you have to use 2 perks to go from mega trash to just trash.
Off The Record is just DS again. With original DS being trash, yea Off The Record will be good.
-
@Brimp said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3021121#Comment_3021121
Sure its more rare in solo q but can most definitely happen. Just being able to get 3-4 14 second self heals because of a ranger medkit and charge addons is not really that balanced.
Ok, but can we not talk about things that happen in SWF? The problem with the update is for solo q not swf
-
No they're not.
