BT is still a requirement

Lets face it BT is still gonna be a staple meta perk cause base kit protection is terrible a measly 5 secs of endurance and 7% haste and lets not forget that new BT adds 10 secs to that basekit 5 secs protection so 15 secs of bt and haste it might be even stronger then what it was

Comments

  • Nope. Off The Record will be. 80 seconds of personally applied endurance, that I don't need to rely on someone else to bring for me.

  • OTR is better BT.

  • if OTR will not be changed it will be meta, no need of BT and its 15s when you can have 80s of endurance

  • I really wanna try to use We'll make it instead.

  • OTR will be meta. I'm guessing the meta is probably going to be OTR, DS, CoH or Lucky Break and either Dead Hard, Sprint Burst or Overcome.

I bring We'll Make It pretty regularly, but it's not a substitute for BT. BT is for unsafe hook rescues, We'll Make It is for safe ones. Ideally you want to make safe rescues, but it's pretty regularly not an option.

Also, yeah, either BT will be meta or OTR will be, depending on if the latter gets nerfed. OTR is basically DS and your teammate having BT in one perk, so it's more slot-efficient and I suspect BT will fall by the wayside despite the fact that it was essentially buffed.

However it shakes out, one of them is still a requirement because 5 seconds endurance basekit is nearly inconsequential. Very easy to wait out, doesn't guarantee you can get anywhere. If they wanted to make camping and tunneling less attractive, they needed to go further than this.

but there will be small BT basekit, which will often be enough. So we'll make it might be overall better, depends if you will have lot of killers waiting 5 sec, but I doubt that.

So 75% of those are the Meta Perks... where's the big meta change then? It isn't because they can't just delete those Perks, they can change them but unless they do something completly different then they will stay Meta.

I'm not excited for the coming changes in the slightest, i'd rather see Map Changes, much smaller maps, less junk around the maps. It would benefit everyone alot more than just Perk changes. They make gigantic maps because they have to make sure Nurse can't be everywhere ultra fast and they fill the mapps with junk tiles to no give Nurse a clear sight on survivors. Every other killer that isn't Nurse suffers because of this.

YOu have killers that literally lose all power and become just guy with knife while Nurse can TP anywhere anytime, her fatigue is just filler.

Limit Nurses range so Maps can become smaller and benefit everyone instead of having M1 killers still useless in whatever PSEUDO META CHANGES they conjured.

Honestly, they have no idea what they're doing when it comes to perk changes. DH guarantees you safety as is, and what are they doing to change it? Making it so you can't just use it for distance but still keeping it as a strong chase perk.

They know survivors ran BT because of tunneling, but they also surely know about the bodyblocking complaints, yet they make OTR an 80 second version of BT.

DS is one of those perks that wasn't just meta because it guaranteed escape, but used correctly extended chase. With Iron Will nerfed and Lucky Break now having a way to recharge the timer, I can see Lucky Break being the replacement for Iron Will.

Nurse is proving to be a detriment to the game now and I think it's time the developers start thinking about reworking her from the ground up so that we can get balanced maps.

The upcoming changes aren't going to fix the problems with the game, and they're only going to hurt killer mains and solo q survivors. Post-patch, the game will still be genrush city because it's not survivors splitting up and all doing a gen solo that's the problem.

80 seconds, plus travel time, was more than enough to down a survivor, hook them, use BBQ to locate the next survivor, and then push them off a gen. When survivors double-up on a gen, you lose that gen by time you make it to the hook.

  • Well, BT is required NOW, but people still run with the Killer behind them to unhook me without BT to get me down immediately.

At least, I'll have five seconds per default. Plus, as people said, OTR. I was dreaming of a personal BT to protect me from solo Q farmer bot for a long time.

Iron will still has it's use it's just not uncounterable anymore. For the majority of Survivors i still see it being very useful cause you won't always face those killers that just know where you are so more often than not you're still going to get value from it.

Nah. How often do you see anyone use Iron Will tier 2? Sound is all or nothing in this game; if there's a sound, the killer can follow it. If someone can track breathing and footsteps, they can track muffled injured noises. Many killers have headsets anyway.

Alot of Killers waited for 8sec, so yes they can wait for 5sec.

  • I disagree. In a game where every second matters, the longer a survivor manages to waste a killer's time, the greater the chances of escape become. DS no longer guarantees escape in the endgame, but it's still excellent at wasting a killer's time.

Iron Will was only useful at tier 3, below that a killer can still track you by sound.

  • DS can extend another 4sec chase against Nurse. Its still be Meta.

DS stun was reduced to 3 seconds + the second it takes for the survivor to end the animation from DS. So no it wont be meta. Specially not against nurse.

To be fair, it’s extremely easy to level any perk up to level 3 once you already have it at level 2. That’s why purple level 3 perks are so common in matches in general. So even if the current Iron Will level 2 is perfectly fine I’d totally expect to see way more Iron Will 3s simply because it take so little time for anybody who already has Iron Will 2 to get to that next level.

To be fair, new DS can still have some place to use against low Tier Killers, but you dont need DS against them and use the perk slot for another thing. Against high Tier Killers, DS is useless so you also dont need it.

But tier 3 had no counter whatsoever. A change was needed. Not every killer player is going to pick up on only 25% volume from survivors when they have chase musics, event notifications, loud noise notifications, gens, etc going on. Iron Will will still be useful and it's still just an equipa and don't worry Perk. IT's availability and easeness of use still makes it an attractive Perk.

The whole reason it was meta is because of how strong it was. 75% Reduction is nothing to a killer with a decent headset.

  • It might have still kept its sounds reduction if the game didn't have spaghetti code and stop survivors breathing as well. We'll have to see if downed survivors got a new 75% quieter bug after the update drops.

Tenacity will be doing that for survivors now, and it won’t be a bug. 😉

Typical BHVR, perk solutions. At least for survivors. The base game changes are so impactful for killers, but survivors get.. five second basekit BT? Who in their right mind won’t be running OTR after this patch?

  • I don't really run BT tbh, so I think this is a great change, even though it realistically will change almost nothing. But still, something's better than nothing.

If you have only 5 sec, don't try to take protection hit. Easy as that.

99% I am waiting BT is because that survivor was annoying me.

  • If Off The Record launches as is - BT is going to be a dumpster perk.

Same reason you don't see Small Game or Counterforce anymore - ever since Boon totems came out.

Same reason you don't see For The People or We're Gonna Live Forever being used as anti-slug with Unbreakable existing.

Off The Record is going to eat Borrowed Time's lunch, and instead of players bringing BT for their friends, they're going to expect everyone to bring OTR instead.

I do not think the majority of readers understand just how fundamentally and absolutely broken OTR is going to be if they roll it out as-is. This is an unprecedented addition to the game that will likely break it worse than Dead Hard and old Boon: Circle Of Healing combined.

Shake up the meta by making worse perks have the same activation requirements and counterplay as the current meta. Whooo OTR meta.
