I'm personally wondering if it'll be used for when a bug puts a killer at a disadvantage? For example i remember when hindered wasn't working and it made clown's and freddy's power 50% useless
it can be used for any game breaking thing basically, be that a perk, an item, character, cosmetic even...it's not about whether it's survivor or killer.
-
Sorry but we've already had this conversation with you many times and we've explained why name changes are given once and once only...this is something that we were also very clear with you about when you requested your last name change.

With enough complaints seems like they'll disable a character, because survivor's are tired of loosing because they didn't win with their Spine chill and PTYS combo.
That's not how it works.
The Kill Switch is going to be purely if there's an issue with something - so if a cosmetic is bugged, a perk is bugged (remember the issue with Breakdown Perk?). It will work on characters as well, but only if there's an actual issue with something. It's not if there's complaints about a character etc, but if there's an actual game breaking bug with something.

McLean was part of the team since the beginning. why should get all the credit for this patch?
not saying he doesn’t deserve some praise for this.. but it is still all done by the whole team and it’s very save to say that it wasn’t all McLean alone (and from what I have seen from him i think he wouldn’t want the team to get ignored as well)
It's an entire Team behind every change that's made, every new thing that's added. Not wishing to diminish McLean's work on this game at all - but an entire Team of Game Designers work on everything, then you have the programmers, testers, production people. It's impossible to single out one person.

If the devs can determine that it only affects that specific platform, does it still disable it everywhere?
Or rather, would they still choose to disable it everywhere?
I'm not 100% sure on this, I think given Crossplay is active it would most likely be disabled on every platform. I don't know if we can switch off something per platform tbh, and it's late now so I can't check in the office. I can try to get the answer tho.
-
With the kill switch feature - when we have an issue with something, we will just be able to switch it off on our end, so pretty much like the maps. Previously we've not been able to do that, so we've had things like the bug with Breakdown Perk etc and we were unable to simply disable that. With this Kill Switch we can just deactivate the perk, or cosmetic, or item or character etc.
It will be on all platforms, if something is an issue on console for example and it's deemed that it needs to be switched off, that effect will happen on all of our platforms.

I was confused on what this means, does that mean there are more killers that are getting add-on changes? For example i was disappointed to see The Legion wasn't listed here.
Some killer addons will be updated, on some just the description is updated to be clearer

Okay I'll try find some patience, but are you able to say if the addon pass would be in part 2 or is that something we have to wait till release for? (If you can comment on it/know)
you're gonna have to wait and see I'm afraid ... but I am sure you will like it either way!
-
Gonna have to have patience on this I'm afraid...part 2 will not come today.
-
First of all, whilst I do appreciate your situation...matchmaking bans are in place to stop people dc'ing and ruining the game for others. There's no favouritism as the games are still being ruined.
I'm also the parent of an Autistic child, so whilst I completely understand where you're coming from, I do have to advise that no, this is not something that is going to happen.
-
This is sadly an issue for many Countries shipping to the UK...after Brexit. Quite a number of companies that I used to order from, no longer send to the UK, the costs can be astronomical to do so.
This is something that we're very aware of (I'm living in the UK right now). And alternatives are being looked into.

you also forgot Lucky Break

For this game all I see is "SBMM IS STUPID" "NERF BLAH BLAH BLAH" Why don't the developers go on twitter or whatever ask everyone, lets just say FOR EXAMPLE nerfing Spirit if people wanted to nerf Spirit why don't they just make a poll, ask everyone if they should they nerf Sprit or not, and then see what people decide and balance the game. That is so simple or should that go another way why cant they just balance the game and read the forums. and this is said by a MODERATOR "My job is to read them (the forums) and I report back the relevant information, so yes things do get seen as I read every thread on this forum." my question is What is the problem, no actually like in Behaviour Headquarters or whatever XD how do they figure out what to balance.
Whilst feedback is taken into consideration, it's not done by a "majority want this" which would be a terrible way to make changes to a game especially when it's an asymetrical game where there's 4 of one side and only 1 of the other.

I think it was stated that the effect will benefit the surv team? But I am not sure if that was official info or leaked info or merely speculation.
I confirmed that it will benefit the survivor team, so don't worry about that being a leak

I have not experienced much in my life and have only visited Sweden a few years ago.
I was there a few days before Christmas, the streets were decorated and the whole atmosphere was very different for me.
I walked with a hot drink in my hand and i enjoyed every moment.
that actually sounds really nice!
I spent Christmas in Hungary one year and it was just so different, the way it was decorated, loads of Christmas lights and markets etc. It was really lovely.

Oh I know how to submit reports. I’ve made them before from PlayStation. I just upload them to YouTube directly from my PlayStation. I was more curious as to whether innocent people will be getting banned when they’re not actually the ones hacking.
Don't worry, if you've done nothing wrong, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
-
With things like "game share" "family share" of the base game only one person can play on the game at any given time.
-
Theoretically it should be the same, it's something on my list to double check though!
-
Ohhh that's a hard one for me. I've travelled a lot and seen many Countries so to choose one solely would be way too difficult.
I do love Maui, Montreal, Barcelona, Rome & New York though, they're definitely amongst the favourite places I've visited so far at least.
-
I've messaged you Tsulan.
-
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - you can make a ticket here, or if you'd prefer I can message you and you can tell me directly.
-
Console reporting and Steam reporting is exactly the same - in-game reports have to be made in all cases, because we need to make sure that match actually occurred.
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - this is the report form to Support, for things like you describe, we would need video evidence (nobody is banned without proof, regardless of amount of reports etc).
-
A quick reminder here, to not to refer to leaks or suspected leaks on this forum...(alleged data mining falls well within that ruling).
Thanks

@Mr_K is correct with the way the MMR/SBMM is working. If you've got a high MMR with a killer, there's no way you're going to be put with people at a super low MMR that would be unfair as you still have a baseline knowledge of the game mechanics, tiles etc. So it would be incredibly unfair to put you against new players, even if it's with a killer you've never played.
If you're playing with a killer that is new to you then your MMR won't drop too much if you're already experienced with other killers - it'll be less, but it won't be low. It will take some time then before the MMR on that killer balances out.
As for the other things mentioned in this thread about "lies", sometimes things have been mentioned that we're working on or even just in the planning phase - these get jumped on and people expect them to be implemented instantly. There's no lies - we're working on things, it's just somethings don't happen as quickly as we all like, other things come up, some things are put to the wayside or in a backlog whilst something more necessary is dealt with. Or for whatever reason, something just can't be done. It's not about lying.

Uloaded ty Youtube
Thank you, but this isn't a bug.
This is the Pallet Validation. Basically the server acts on which action it has received first, in this case the server has received the notification that the survivor has dropped the pallet prior to your hit registering (it might look different on your view because you are seeing your own connection to the server). The issue is that the visual feedback to the kill obtaining the hit is instant, so that happens prior to the server rejecting the hit.
The team are aware of this visual feedback, but it's not a bug.

Of course, this post has videos after and before the patch. This bug first appeared in 5.2.0. The issue is that the animation is way slower than it used to be and makes the audio desynced.
The Post I was talking about: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/278667/pc-rites-of-judgement-is-incredibly-slow
thank you!

I'm thinking it's between 5-7s, or at least that's what it seems to me. I will see if I can find out the exact time.

Could you please tell me, if Mod's opinions have any value to devs?
or it is just personal opinion and Mods are here as guardians of the forum.
I'm not just a mod (really think I need to change my tag on here). I'm a Community Coordinator for BHVR, so full time employee who has input on the game and the Community. My job is pretty varied and naturally can't discuss most of it, but I can certainly input ideas, especially with evidence to back things up.

Yeah I really hope the devs give the idea a chance since it would help close the gap between solo and SWF massively
I can think of a couple of situations where that could be true...give me your list as well as to why you think it would do this?
(please & thank you!)

It's difficult to give advice on this type of platform...but I would definitely urge anyone who's struggling to reach out to a professionally trained person, your doctor is a good first step.

DC is bureaucracy approve cheating lol.
SWF have a lot advantage,it's not fair to killer and soloq survivors.
Please do not keep bringing up DC'ing in a thread where it's not relevant.
We are not discussing whether or not SWF is strong - the point of the matter is that it is not cheating.

Please make sure to report the player in game (it will be the player that's listed in the end screen but is not shown in game). And then send the evidence to Support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

can someone grab me a video of this, to show exactly what the issue is please?

Playing voice games with friends is cheating. Although there is no way to stop it, I can improve and balance it through this method. They have common eye liner and information, and can communicate quickly to gain the advantage of the game. Five years later, they should be weakened.
Voice coms is not cheating.
Please note, that in our Official Discord we have specific voice channels set up so that people can play together in voice chat.

@Steel_Eyed from your experience is it silent at any specific point, is this from the point of view of the survivor or the killer - as much information as you can give would be helpful, thank you.
-
2 weeks is not long enough to do what you are proposing...that's going to take some time. Data first needs to be collected then analyzed and all aspects have to be taken into consideration.
Nobody said this was going to be an instant thing, we did say that we could use the data from these matches to see what changes need to be made further down the line - we never said it was going to be done instantaneously, which is pretty impossible to do....as the work has to be done internally, designed, programmed, tested, then scheduled when the bandwidth is available.
-
Did you start with 3 hatchets?
-
We've actually got 2 point systems on the forums.
One is probably what you are referring to - which is reputation points, which we don't actually use. This is done when your comments are liked or other interactions etc...but as we do not implement much with these, they don't really mean anything at the moment.
The other points we have, is warning points - where a certain amount of points will give you a forum ban. But again, we tend to use our own escalation procedure instead of just basic points.
-
yes this issue should now be resolved, with the release of 5.2.2 on all platforms
-
if it's this one, it's fixed with today's patch.

Yeah its not the same but its curious everything that affect survs are fixed in 3 days but killer things last ages for example Spirit no sound bug ,thats breaking a full character its not that important? Or for example dying surv without noise and no Iron will I can understand some stuff are easier to fix but cant be 3 months to fix it
Bug fixes aren't simply sectioned into killer vs survivor - the simple fact is that some things are more able to reproduce than others, and audio bugs in particular are incredibly difficult to reproduce, especially when they don't apply to everyone. The idea that it's something that affects Survivor so is fixed quicker is completely disingenuous and frankly false.
I'm not denying that there are bugs on either side, I'm just directly refuting your point that survivor issues are given priority.
-
@UnknownKiller said:
What about you treat your players the same way?
Unbreakable pallets from one side map still enabled.
Hex totems unable to be cleansed map unable till fix.
The day the surv queque becomes unbearable I hope you have already dbd 2 or invert the money on bitcoins
It's not really comparable for a pallet that can't be broken from one side only, to a totem that cannot be cleansed at all.
That's one chase with that pallet, whereas that one totem can affect an entire game.
-
Yes this is a known bug, there is a bug report in on it within that section of our forums.
