You have option to recycle. When I don't have challenge I want, then I just keep changing it.

    Ditto

Especially if I have Nurse ones, as I will just not be able to do it - cos I am useless with Nurse

  • It depends on what stage the match is at, and also what killer we're playing against for me. If I'm working on a near completed gen and it's one of the last two, then I will finish that gen before doing anything.

Then I will try to find the totem whilst moving to another gen - I will still prioritise the generators over the totem if it's late stage of the match, the worst thing that happens is when all 4 survivors rush about trying to find the totem and nobody does a generator - that's when the snowball usually happens, especially with higher mobility killers.

I love Devour Hope matches though, it just adds such a bit more spice to the matches!

Really BHVR? Do you have something against me?

It's completely 100% against you personally :) (joke for anyone not realising this)

The filter generally seems to censor out names, and part of other words etc. I will bring this feedback back to the relevant people.

  • You're not being forced into a role that you don't play, you're being encouraged and given an incentive to play a different role. Dailies aren't a requirement, they're a bonus.

I actually wish that more people played both sides of the game more, that way they will understand the game better and have a clearer idea of the issues that both sides face.

Wasn't your tag formerly Mod? If you got a new position congrats.

    Thank you!

Just to add to my previous post - I'm All Ears is somethign I've been having a lot of fun with recently and I find that survivors do not expect me to have it....it's lead to a few people saying I'm hacking after the game, which has been kinda interesting! I do explain the perk though.

  • I don't really see the issue at all with NOED - first of all it can be removed from the game before it's even active and secondly, the killer is down to 3 perks throughout the entire match. I'd also refute that it's used on less skilled killers, i see it used a lot on low mobility killers, which I think is perfectly understandable as those are the ones that are likely to reach endgame more.

  • I always run a mix of of information perks and chase perks. I usually have BBQ on (I like my 4 stacks!), Discordance, Enduring and then the final slot is for usually another chase perk. I'm currently liking Spirit Fury in an effort to wean myself off Brutal Strength.

  • Thank you, i will bring this up with the team tomorrow. Obviously with this operating system being so new and having so much stuff implemented on it for games, we're monitoring for issues closely.

  • So when you reverted back to Win 10 - the sounds were normal again or was there still some issues?

  • Depends on which accounts the DLC's were purchased on. If they were purchased on their friends account, then the game share stopped, then yes access to those DLC's would be lost as they do not own them anymore.

Wasn't there also a system on release where blocking a player would make it so you don't match with them which had a similar effect people blocking people who play killers they don't like and probably killers blocking strong survivors so a system of blocking / banning has already been used and found to be unfair

Nothing official and it wasn't at release. There was a 3rd party programme that did this, which we did remove from our whitelist as people were blocking Nurse players for example.

  • I don't think this is something that we'd implement. People have purchased these characters either with actual money or with shards - game time, it wouldn't be fair to stop someone playing the killer they like playing.

The whole thing behind DbD from the early days is that you could be facing any killer in the trial, limiting that by banning certain killers feels pretty unfair to the players who've purchased and enjoy playing these characters.

DS doesn't work until you remove it from your load out then suddenly killers start tunneling you out haha.

That's like me with any perk, I always find I need it when I'm not running it!

Thank you very much! Just thought I would check since the names were changed in the ptb even if you owned the dlc. I assume they will stay as they currently are in the live version for those with the dlc?

I'm checking on that, because to my understanding if you own the DLC then you should have the current names after the removal, and not the generic names.

I want to report that I took everyone's advice and actually escaped 3 killers! that has never happened.

Here is the advice summary that helped me.

    1. I stopped running across the map out of fear and instead stayed close to the action.
    2. used perks designed to help escape. I used feather foot to not leave tracks. It will take some time to earn the ones mentioned but:
    3. I used premonition to know when killer is looking my way.
    4. I used Acrobat so I can jump and run
    5. I used "see killer when gens are done"
    6. I ran away much sooner and not for the corner but rather to a good spot to hide very near the hookings
    7. I played the killer to see what they see OMG you cant hide behind a tree. but also the killer has poor peripheral vision.
    8. I cut his line of sight as much as possible and vaulted as much as possible. I learned the maps by looking at them on wiki. (is that cheating? felt like it)

Amazingly 3 killers stopped chasing me. Ghost face, Chainsawm and and get this. The wraith actually gave up in the cornfield.

Thank you so very much. At midwitch elementary, I got let go by the killer because I was the last alive. Never has that happened.

    Thank you

    edgarpoop

    Laurie268  (you are creepy)

    lav3

    Rey_512 (you terrify me)

    Sypherpathic

and even the fabulous ThiccBudhha  (I just want to DC when chainsaw man is there but I never have)

Well done! I'm glad that the advice that you've recieved here as been helpful to you.

And on a note to everyone in this thread - thank you all for giving such a great advice and being so friendly and helpful, it's been really great to see <3

  • Do you have any screenshots of the games where you believe you should have got a pip? Specifically of your Emblems etc?

  • We don't have any current information on this, the feedback has been passed back to the team and they are aware that it's a community wish to have this implemented.

  • I think since the creation of a permanent obsession in the match, the threat of DS has been very strong - probably stronger than the perk itself. I do run it on occasions, mostly when i've had a couple of matches where I've been tunnelled and wished I've had it...I then put it on for a few matches but must admit there's so many perks that I like to use, that I don't like sticking to just the same few perks and feeling that I have to run them.

  • You report on Console the same way as you report on PC, so flag the match in the tally screen to show that it took place - that helps our Team of ACM's confirm the match. Then send your video evidence by creating a Support ticket https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - put in as much information about the user as possible (Steam ID if you have it, if not steam names etc).

For the video evidence, it's a lot easier to upload to a hosting site such as YouTube and then put the link on the form, as the bandwidth on the form isn't great.

  • If this issue happens to you again, can you grab your game logs and upload them here please? Thank you.

You can find your logs here:

    1. Press Windows Key + R to bring up "Run".

    2. Type this in the "Run" prompt: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs

    3. The file called "DeadByDaylight.log" is your log file. Please attach it in your reply.

  • I have absolutely no issue with Devour Hope, I think it's an incredibly well designed and balanced perk personally. First of all it's a Hex, so it can be destroyed, secondly it encourages a healthy playstyle - leave the hook and searching for other players etc. Thirdly, it's rewarding the killer for doing well in the match whilst adding an extra bit of excitement for survivors. Also, the perk builds up - survivors can often get an idea that Devour Hope is in the match, especially with the insta down, it's not an instant mori as the survivors get that warning prior to the actual mori starting with a lot killers.

It's definitely a high reward perk, but lets not forget that it can be removed from the game with a basic totem cleanse and that the killer still has to get downs etc, so go through chases and be away from the hook when the save is made.

  • A thread like this is going to lead to negativity instantly so I'm closing this here. We've got a very inclusive attitude on this forum and respect all our platforms and it's not acceptable here to disrespect someone for the platform they play on - this thread would lead to that.

Thanks Killer. I will take this to heart. I tried to loop in the japanese garden and RAN INTO THE BAMBOO.

it can be difficult to realise what you can run though and what you can't on that map - so don't worry about that! Pretty sure we all made mistakes like that our first few times on the map

  • There's a few youtube videos out there, my best advice would be to learn the tiles and how to run them correctly - how to correctly run the slightly different jungle gyms for example, correct way to run the Shack etc.

Also, play some killer - you genuinely learn the game so much better by playing both sides.

  • I'm absolutely useless at saving BP - I spend it as soon as I get it. I do tend to have my challenge BP's stored but that's purely because I forget to claim them, so I'll have those.

I tend to play as the character and just level up normally, saving BP is just too tempting to spend.

  • I think as you seem to be missing a few things, it might be better if you contact Support directly, they can see what's happening on your account directly.

© 2015-2020 and BEHAVIOUR, DEAD BY DAYLIGHT and other related trademarks and logos belong to Behaviour Interactive Inc. All rights reserved.

This is the Support address, if you open a ticket there, someone can look at your account and we can see what the problem is.

  • Even with a killer that you've just picked up, you won't be up against total new players - that would be unfair as you've still got some game/map/tile knowledge etc - you know how to cut off a loop for example.

The Grades shown are purely showing the time people have played, time does not equate with skill.

  • Have you re-insterted the disc into your console and tried to renew the licence?

  • Have you changed accounts/console etc?

What about questions that have many votes regardless of if they are upvotes or downvotes? With so many people having an opinion on that question, would it still be a good candidate for an answer?

The way we take the questions is by the most upvoted, to show that this is the questions that people want answered - the downvoted questions are ones that people want answered the least, or are not bothered by the answers.

  • Please remember to keep your comments respectful on this platform - thank you.

We will announce when the QA stream will be un due course, once everything has been set in place.

Also, please remember we take the most upvoted questions from the forum, so we answer the questions that you have all voted to have answered. We do state clearly that we cannot answer about upcoming content, which is the questions that normally gets the most upvotes but we are unable to answer these....as we do state in the the pinned post in the QA section of the forum.

For the initial data yes. They could take the larger MMR system they use for survivors for killers. I've noticed since the introduction of MMR it doesn't matter which killer I play i tend to have the exact same type of matchmaking. I definitely have my main killers I can typically always 3k on and some that I play only for dailies every so often I don't feel like rerolling.

No, locking the killer into the lobby is not for the initial data. It was done in order to improve matchmaking balance, otherwise you could queue as one of your weaker killers and then switch to your strongest for example.

  • forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/103996/developer-update-november-2019 we answered these questions at the time.

And the DwightCrow charm we didn't say was a permanent exclusive item. We may time to time make things available via our Partners and these will often be also available to the general Community at a later date.

    xZi11o7[1].png

  • This comes up regularly and we have stated, that no there are no plans to make Legacy available to all players, it was given out one time for those that went through the very early days of the game. It is not something that will be given out again.

  • You are not finishing the animation of the kicking process, which is why the generator is not regressing. You have to go through the full animation - if you notice the bar was not full.

  • The code is not yet active, it becomes available at 11am EST. So please try after that time.

Fair points. Yes, it was never stated, but sometimes not everything has to be explicit to be understood. The marketing around it heavily implied a very special, limited, and highly sought-after charm. The unfun and tedious nature of entering a 60 character code with a few redemptions only obtained from a handful of streamers reinforced this view. People were frustrated and angry, some spending days and weeks watching stressed-out streamers, and you can be confident they only did it because they feared it would never return.

Bvhr needs to be more forthcoming about exclusive content in the future, and the acquisition methods should reflect that. You could use the approach some other games have done. Announce an exclusive early-access opportunity to get something in-game and note that this item will become more broadly available again next holiday, etc.

I do understand that, and we have looked at our way of delivering codes since then. Our partners will probably still get codes to give out to the Community, but we have taken on board the feedback in the way these codes are given.

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2534822#Comment_2534822

So why even create all that hoopla about getting this exclusive limited-time-only charm? The goal was not for everyone to gain access to the charm; this was apparent by how you distributed it. Last year, you could've made it a global code or a login reward if you didn't want to deny anyone the opportunity.

The decision to make it widely available shows a lack of respect and regard for your players' time and investment. Returning the charm in such a simplified way also sets a bad precedent for the game; how can we be certain a future exclusive reward that is tedious and time-consuming to acquire won't later return and be accessible to acquire? The charm is ugly, I never used it and never will, but I specifically went out of my way to obtain a code on console (as hard as that was) for the sake of FOMO. And now it's back? I wish this had been communicated to us last year so I would save myself the trouble. Even after complaints, Bvhr never indicated it would return in 2021 and be more accessible.

Some time there will be "exclusives" like the rift for example - they're basically exclusive for a short period only. The people who obtained the code last year, have had exclusive use of it for a year. We never stated that these wouldn't be released in another way at any point, nor did we say they were not going to become available again, the decision was made after the popularity of the code. Players who obtained it back then have had exclusive use of it for a year, we can't guarantee this will happen with every exclusive/limited item.

  • @bm33 said:

As someone that managed to get a DwightCrow code last year I'm glad they're making it available for everyone. I hope they don't do the limited use codes like that again, it's not fun and it's a crappy way of making a cosmetic exclusive. It also seems dumb to encourage people to not play the game but instead watch a streamer play the game.

The codes are not going to be limited use from what I know, but they will be limited in time.

  • Well this has gone completely off topic from the OP's intention hasn't it?

And I will emphasis again and this is Official, using Discord etc to play with your friends is not cheating. Which is why it's listed as not being bannable or reportable. Yes the EULA will state the use of 3rd party apps, this is of course a legal requirement on us. We do not list what 3rd party apps, same as any other game doesn't list them. Does using voice interfere with the game files in anyway? No of course it doesn't.

Do we actively promote SWF as part of our game? Yes of course we do

Do we have SWF voice channels of our Official Discord? Yes of course we do

Is using a voice channel to chat with your friends whilst playing together bannable? No of course it isn't

That's pretty much the end of it - no the rules do not need to be changed, some common sense needs to be applied though.

And now, to return to the ACTUAL TOPIC OF THIS THREAD - should BP be awarded to killers when playing against SWF groups?

  • @psionic said:

Why not create another charm? That smells lazyness

Not at all, there were a lot of players who couldn't get this code the last time around and we wanted to rectify that. Also we have a lot of new players since then, there's no reason that they should be denied the opportunity to get this charm.

  • @LadyV thank you for the log files! Please don't apologise for not knowing the forums very well, you've done great and thank you very much for reporting this issue.

And welcome to the forums 😀

  • Yeah I'm hearing this is a bug and will be fixed for the Live version, it was not intended to be changed.

  • I'm checking on this now, to see what it should be and whether or not this is a bug.

  • There are times when a DC is necessary for example, an IRL situation or if you've got a game breaking bug - this is why we have the Leave Match button and why the DC penalty is kept short initially.

Leaving a match because you are being camped or slugged IS NOT A VALID REASON FOR LEAVING THE GAME hence we have the DC penalty in place to discourage this. When you enter a match, you agree to play that match and not ruin it for the other players in the game. Which is what DC'ing does - ruin the match. It's irrespective of whether you like camping/tunelling/slugging - those things are currently part of the game and you accept that when you ready up in the lobby.

  • Without video it's pretty hard to say what happened. I've been pallet saved though in the last few days and nothing has changed on our end since the last patch.

As others have said, you get the stun scoring event if you've stunned the killer, but stunning the killer doesn't necessarily give you the save - the save is down to timing. At a guess I'd say the timing is off when you're making a save but without video we can't really tell.
