Yes? That's normal for every piece of software. If you dedicate 100% of your coders to fixing the same problem, it actually takes longer to fix because each programmer has their own idea of how to fix it, their own approach, and they're going to spend days debating over which is best. "Too many cooks in the kitchen", as it were. You never dedicate 100% of your programmers to fixing the same issue, that's just begging for trouble.
Not to mention the logistical nightmare of directing people that ordinarily work in seperate teams.
-
Absolutely. One of the big reasons that nothing ever gets done is because their employees have an extremely loose work schedule. I believe one of the Devs said "we work when we want to."
-
Why would I burn cakes when my trials are full of toxic dickheads and I'm only getting 5-10k BP?
-

Yeah it feels like it's been happening way more often for me. One thing I noticed is that if you use Spine Chill the chances of getting skill checks are higher so that may be affecting it.
I thought that might have been it (I've been using Spine Chill and watching TV or YouTube) but I took the perk off and the same thing keeps happening.
I think it might be a glitch in the code, making skillchecks appear in the space between the input being turned off and the survivor physically letting go of the gen.
-
There is absolutely no way that any form of killer with a power even slightly linked to looking like (and thereby hiding as) a survivor will ever work in this game. It doesn't matter how it's implimented or how large a part of the killer's kit it's supposed to be, it's just not happening.
Because people play with their friends. A lot. Far more than most people seem to realise. Like, seriously, most of my killer trials are against 3-4 person SWF teams. It's kind of how the game is balanced at this point.
-
With games like this, you don't stop until the money does.
-
Casual modes would just be abused, people both take this game super seriously and only want the easiest trials.
-
Yeah, it's been happening a lot lately.
-
@nursewannabe said:
Ironic how you called maps either "survivor sided" or "balanced" and proceeded to call Hawkins one of the latter
Well, it kind of is. Indoor maps are inherently bad for killers because of the W potential and complete lack of tracking. Hawkins might have bad loops, but... Well, that doesn't make it killer sided, just miserable.
-
The only thing Spine Chill counters is Myers. every other stealth killer in DbD can just look to the side, or in the case of Ghostface only stalk while leaning.
-
The Devs mostly just care about PS5, XB series X, and high-end PC users. Everyone else, from the switch gamers to midrange PC's, is pretty #########.
And because I know that's going to be censored as half of my words always are (country girl, y'all. Means something very different in NZ/AU) I'll just elaborate: The Devs have been ignoring the majority of the community because the game runs well on flagship systems and now it's biting them in the arse.

I did not said this is crime lol. If you would read post, i just wrote counters. People can use them. This is just like this: You are hungry, you have food and you can cook them. But you are not cooking and complaining about being hungry.
Actually, you didn't really write any "counters" and you didn't even mention half the slowdown perks in the game.
-
Spirit with Ruin, Devour Hope, Thrill of The Hunt and Undying. I like Hex builds but she's the only killer they're consistently good on.

As much as I like to occasionally use him for fun, I have to agree with you: his stalk is awkward. If mid Stalk I’ve managed to get revealed it feels like a waste to reset a Stalk meter by hitting them. But at the same time waiting for the cooldown to elapse to try and get them, or someone else later is far too long. Gotta keep pressure up somehow. I don’t like the meter reset mechanic.
Yeah, I tend to use his stalking for the first one or two downs, and shift to perks like Devour Hope or Make Your Choice (or both, my favourite build on him is Undying/Devour/BBQ/MYC). It's not only awkward and a little punishing to keep stalking, but at that point everyone knows it's Ghostface so catching people off guard is as hard as if they had Spine Chill.
-
All instadown perks are good on Ghostface. His ability to stalk is often too awkward to use.
-
You don't. The Devs don't want you to be able to track survivors without LoS in any reasonable in-chase capacity, possibly because they themselves can't loop and want survivors to escape chases as well as drawing them out.
It's so sad to see all the people that think IW is okay and that the other sounds are the problem. If that were the case, the Devs would never have admitted to messing up the sounds.
-
You want a realistic answer? It would either be various mixtures of Nurse, Spirit and Blight, or one of them with Legion or Doctor.
-
You should probably get rid of Iron Grasp, it really won't be doing much. Agitation is all you need, especially since the majority of downs should be happening after you've hooked the survivor. BBQ is actually a good perk for that build because it's likely the Exposed survivors will be running away. It's one of the few times the perk shines as more than a BP farm.
So with that in mind I'd just replace Iron Grasp with Distressing.
Edit: Also, yes, theres loads of better killers. Nurse, Wraith, Spirit, Deathslinger, Clown, Trapper, Hag, maybe even Pig as well.
-
All of the above plus mild desync. I had a Plague magically phase right through my body with a lunge yesterday.
-
Neither Nemesis or Legion belong there. Legion has to rely on a basic chase to down people, meaning that it's entirely on the survivor to ######### it all up, and their power is all about juggling to boot.
And Nemesis has more interaction than Demogorgon, so... Either get him off the list or add Demo. Either one works. Seriously, I love playing as Demo but the better I get the less the survivors can do.
Edit: Also, I think the addition of Zombies gives Nemesis some decent map pressure.
-
The pride charm, the chaotic glyph and the iridescent primus coin.
-
The only thing they could do is nerf her recharge more and buff her blink distance+speed. I'm not even sure what that would do.
-
I mean, yeah, those skillchecks that the Devs should really look into fixing because they are insanely unfair. And have significantly increased since the last update.
I'm not kidding, they really are becoming a huge problem. Survivors shouldn't be punished for letting go of a generator, there should be a .3 second grace period at the start of the skill check where the gen can't explode. Human beings can't react fast enough to hit any skill check once we have made the decision to let go of the generator.

Throw in Corrupt and NOED as basekit and make Hatch/Key a basekit feature. If the Survivors are not competitive enough to get gens done, at least the last one/two can try to escape.
Firstly, that's a terrible idea because this is a casual game with extreme RNG. Second, it has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. This is a thread about the rise in killers that are griefing.
-
This really, really isn't a console issue, it's just a DbD issue. Anyone not running the game on top hardware (that includes current-gen consoles, from what I've seen and been told by current-gen owners) is dealing with the same BS.
-
They've been leaving survivors to BM, genrush and deny killers the most basic experience of DbD for years, I wouldn't hold your breath now that killers are griefing more.
-
Okay. Well, hackers leave footprints in the logs, so your BF will be fine. Or he won't and you'll have an interesting conversation, either way it's pretty foolproof. The in-game report flags the logs, the official report w/evidence shows the reporter isn't trolling, the subsequent uncovered game logs tell if it's hacking or not.
And yes, there's been a spate of wierd behaviour thanks to the slightly on-fire code, so people are doubtless paranoid. This story reeks of it, and someone unable to admit the real issue.
-
I think Otz bases his opinions around not-quite-competitive DbD, doesn't he? The grey area where everyone is good at the game and trying to win but not actually genrushing?

Honostly. I use corrupt, pop, ruin, bbq on demo. Maybe it's just how I play him. But I really dislike STBFL on him. I shred a LOT and hate having to go for shreds only to keep stacks on the obsession. And I lose a LOT of stacks by shredding non obsessions .
Seriously. I find more value in shredding non obsessions before they can get anywhere. Over aiming for stacks. A little tip. When you m1 them(everyone just assumes STBFL) So I find they rarely look behind them because they're not expecting shreds. I just watch for when their head isn't turned to me and shred when I know I can get the hit. You can end chases quickly going for shreds and not stacks of stbfl
Which is also why I don't use STBFL and never really did. Good survivors force you to shred.

how effective is that build? I wanna try playing demo but don’t have any good build on him.
Well, it's probably not for beginners unless you want to learn the hard way, but then again I dont actually know if Demogorgon has an "easy" way since I basically learned to play him with no good perks.
Basically, LP and Corrupt give you a good early game, and it's all on you from there.
-
Lethal Pursuer and whatever else I feel like. Usually Corrupt Intervention, LP actually gets me value out of that perk. Sometimes I use Ruin instead, it's also good for knowing who is closest to your totem.. The ability to be in a chase in seconds and know wher everyone is and what they are doing for the first minute of the trial is borderline broken.
I think I'm running Lethal Pursuer/Corrupt Intervention/Infectious Fright/BBQ on Demogorgon at the moment.
Edit: Wait, no, I'm using Enduring instead of BBQ. Don't need bonus point sin an event.
-
Lag free? What are you talking about? It's only lag-free on high-end systems. From what I've seen, current-gen consoles have it better than most PC players.
-
Billy is too RNG based, has worse mobility, and a less effective chase power due to the aforementioned RNG.
What RNG, you may ask? Why, the fact that his bumps and saws are server-sided, massively inconsistent, and that survivors whip back and forth when they enter melee range so backrevs are pretty much luck-based.
Edit: also, Billy doesn't have any good addons
-
Open Handed is pretty good. Ace In The Hole is fun and has some uses. Up The Ante is terrible unless you're in a SWF with Slippery Meat and a bunch of luck buffs.
It's kinda funny how many people think they're all bad, though. I guess some peoe just like their perks to play the game for them.

Huh? Considered by whom? How exactly are they unable to track you mid animation that they were able to before?
It's the first time I see anyone claiming 360 without instant turnrates became better.
Just about every killer I've ever talked to about it noticed what happened. Survivors used to move a lot slower, now they whip around randomly and basically teleport. It doesn't even have anything to do with spinning, just a few quick camera jerks and on the killer's screen you're gone because the insane dance the hitbox does.
-

Keep in mind that it is nowhere near as efficient as it was before the movement animations rework seeral months ago.
Actually, it's considerably more effective, at least in the sense that killers can no longer track you mid-spin, mid-lunge.
-
Quickly press W, A, S, D in order while pointing your camera either at the ground or sky and moving your mouse in the opposite direction to whichever key you pressed second (if you go W-A-S-D, flick your mouse to the left. W-S-D-A, flick your mouse to the right).
At least, that's how I spin. It's actually not that useful and I don't do it much. Or, well, ever.
Edit: Also I'm not even sure if this is how I do it, it's kind of hard to put into words.
-
No, I definitely think that BM and griefing are a pretty big problem.
As are bulldozing people just because can. That's, like, borderline griefing. You know what I'm talking about, the kind of killers that play Spirit or Nurse with Knockout and try to full-party slug at 5 gens after dodging a few lobbies that looked like they might be SWF's.
And genrushers. ######### that shite. That's almost as bad. I get being efficient, but there's a difference between the two.
Edit: to clarify, I still hold the opinion that people should use whatever they feel like using, but that doesn't mean I think people should play however they feel like playing. There is such a thing as basic sportsmanship.
Edit edit: It also doesn't mean I think those OP things we all use at least occasionally are okay, but broken toys can be fun while they last. That I totally get.
-
I mean, it's not hard to play against. You just... You just sort of stand there while the survivor does thier thing. Maybe you walk at them a little. I don't think I've ever managed to fail to do that, but maybe that's just my immense natural skill shining through.

I'm not sure what you mean about 'technically be the same'.
Wraith now is just him with Windstorm before.

I found the bots kind of hard to chase because of how unpredictable they were.

Sometimes camping won’t work cause killers are smarter than people think and they will bait the pallet but then you wasted it and there’s only a limited amount of pallets to use for the perk. Also you can just throw the pallet and use lithe to get the same result so that’s why I made this buff so the perk is not outclassed
You can't do the Lithe thing, though. Smash Hit gets you more distance and the killer has to eat a stun and almost always has to break the pallet.
The stun and the pallet break are what really set it apart. Even if the killer has Enduring they usually have to break the pallet because that's just the most efficient thing to do. Unless the loop is rather weak, it often takes nearly the same amount of time to walk around it and then there's a reasonably strong/god-tier pallet left standing.
Edit: also, if you somehow fail to stun the killer, then all you've done is play like a competitive gamer and prethrown the pallet. That is literally the current meta.

I found Wraith challenging to go against before the increase in his uncloak lunge range AND that he can get in much closer than before. What were the complaints pre-rework?
Given that his rework didn't do anything but free up an add-on slot and slightly buff his lunge, they should technically be the same.
But mostly it's just that stealth killers aren't fun to go against because they get a lot of free hits and tend to never commit to chases.
-
@Bard said:
Imagine being bad enough at the game that you're complaining about the ######### Wraith.
Wraith is one of the stronger killers in the game and has never been particularly fun to go against because you often get no chases.
It's understandable that people don't like going against him, especially since one of his add-ons literally gives him mid-range Wallhacks.
-
I'd buff Pig and nerf Spirit.
Pig needs more. Her kit is supposed to be Wraith, but she slows down the game instead of speeding herself up. Instead, she wastes her own time and has a power that's countered by predropping pallets.
Spirit is Spirit. I think she's too easy and too excruciating to face. It's not fun to get "outplayed" when the killer is designed to give you absolutely no information to work with at all whilst having everything she could possibly need bar Wallhacks and no-clipping.
-
I don't think the shrine has ever been truly random, not with the rarity of certain perks and the overabundance of others, especially ones from free characters.
-
As am I. It's a nice feeling to see so many people coming together for a good cause.
-
Smash Hit completely and utterly ends a chase unless the killer has Spirit Fury/Enduring or wants to throw the trial, I feel like that's a perfectly acceptable level of reward.
Especially since you can just camp the pallet and take of with the double speed boost guaranteed.

Hillbilly & Hag can handle it personal experience. Hillbilly can zoom in time. Hag just place a trap for later. With many other killers depends like Oni if there's Blood Fury, Twins if survivor is injured. Slinger and Demo can do things with there zoning. The issue with Hold W is there's a 50 split if it does nothing against one killer yet butchers another like Trapper, Myers, or Legion.
Hag kinda does have exact that problem though. I don't know if you've ever played hag in a competitive or pseudo-competitive scene, but her counterplay is basically to have a couple of people harassing the edge of her web and holding W away while the others try to do gens... And then do the exact same thing but after taking a hit. It's so painful. Trials take upwards of half an hour. Me playing Hag is a roll of the dice, it's so incredibly likely I'll get one of those teams.
And Billy has to deal with indoor maps, map clutter and his post-chainsaw cooldown, the latter of which nearly guarantees a pallet or window. He does better than most killers against the W meta, but so does Bubba, Slinger, Demo and Plague.
Trickster, however, I completely forgot about and totally counters the W meta. And as much as I think his buff is a bad idea, I'm kind of looking forward to it because now I can miss 2 blades and not get heavily punished for it.
-
Because of its instability it has a very low chance of being chosen and you can't use map offerrings.
