  • I'd like a killer with some stealth, but a full stealth killer is a big no from me. Same uninteractivity issue.

I think we should get more hybrid killers. We've got plenty of semi-ranged/agressive killers, what about some semi agro/stealth or trap/stealth?

This is not lol. There is 2 stats. Total escapes/deaths and OG characters escapes/deaths

You jumped the gun a bit there.

  • I love that the kills/escapes are for OG characters only

Edit: the ones on the right, that is

  • I mean, are we talking 5e, 3.5e, Pathfinder...?

If it's pure 5e then there's way less classes and customisation options, so it makes it a little more meaningful. 3.5e and Pathfinder are somewhat cross-compatable and have SO MANY OPTIONS I DROWN IN THEM OH MY GODS ITS INSANE JUST HOW MUCH OFFICIAL CONTENT COMES UNDER THOSE TWO.

If we're talking 5e, Oni, Bubba, Blight and Billy would be barbarians, Plague, Nemesis and Wraith would be warlocks, Ghostface, Myers, Trickster, Legion and Pig would be rogues, Trapper and Deathslinger would be fighters, Huntress would be a ranger, Clown would be a massive ######### creep (or a bard), Spirit and Nurse would be sorceresses, Hag would be a wizard, and now by brain has switched off due to unexpected D&D overload.

Edit: and by that I mean I can't stop thinking about a team of level 20's fighting to take down David King.

More, I would say that we, as a community, are a family!

A big, complicated and extremely divided family, but a family nonetheless.

And nothing is stronger than family.

Except those two-stage adhesives that you have to mix together.

  • I'm sorry, but it's hard to be positive when the Devs kept making empty promises.

I'm shocked that the community is as positive as it is given the game and studio. It's honestly heartwarming that anyone is even here. It shows just how much people believe in this game, despite it hitting rock bottom. When the RE chapter was released, I was certain that everyone would just give up and leave, getting replaced with RE fans that will only be here for a few weeks. I'm glad it didn't happen. And I'm hopeful for the future of DbD, because that is a lot of money that they can funnel directly into optimisation.

  • Killers do it more because survivors are more efficient on gens. It's just how the game goes.

Not sure about pips, no-one really cares about them since the system is so insanely broken to the point that even the developers admitted it.

  • Not really. Whenever I list the massive issues with that map, I tend to leave out it's confusing layout unless someone else brought it up.

    No thank you.

If I see a squad running a map and a key, I want to use my Third Seal thanks.

That's fine. So long as Blindness doesn't effect the aura from slugged survivors.

I tend to advocate for Killers, and I agree with you here. NO PERK SHOULD BE NERFED INTO THE GROUND. Rebalanced to be strong but healthy, yes. Nerfed into Kingdom Come? No. More useless perks are not what this game needs.

To be fair, I think a lot of people have a sort of PTSD from things in this game. Legion still gets a ton of hate for gameplay he can't even do anymore. Undying is nowhere near as bad as it once was, and it is still heavily maligned. DS cannot be be abused in a capacity REMOTELY approaching what it used to, but people still act like it's a nasty perk. It's on both sides, and it's a touch silly, but understandable.

Agreed with you on everything but DS, becuase I'm sick of Sabo Squads and wannabe bullies running around fresh off the hook, often at full health, trying to go for saves. It doesn't feel good being completely unable to punish that.

It's not what it used to be, but it still has a way to go before it stops protecting agro survivors and starts protecting against hardcore tunneling.

  • @Seanzu said:

Iron will is just the same as chasing a healthy survivor idk why y'all think it's so powerful lmao.

Because it can't be a coincidence that I suddenly have a significant boost to my average chase time just for equipping a single perk.

Seriously, it's insane, I can't take it off now. Just running a tile is easier because of all the micro-hesitations that killers make. It's almost like having a permanent haste effect.

  • Revert the massive nerfs to sounds so that killers can once again hear footsteps on the other side of loose plywood, and fix the IW bug that removes all and any sounds.

In other words, instead of deleting any breathing while injured, it should loop the healthy audio.

Really? You're actually saying SWF shutting down whole perks because of microphones is a counter? Like, a needed counter?

It's BS, that using discord can shut down stealth Killers and certain perks. But we can't remove SWF, so BHVR needs to balance around cheat with friends.

But for that to happen, they would first have to admit that SWFs with microphones are unbalanced. And they won't, so...🤷

Do you have any idea just how easy it is to beat a team of solo's? Even the best? Co-ordination is as important for survivors as slowing the game down is for killers. I actually spent months dodging solo teams because of how ######### boring and easy they always are even without solo-predation. Full sweaty parties may be an issue, but solo teams are far more common and have far lower escape rates than killers have kills Vs sweat squads.

And yes, I think it's a good thing that killers can't mass slug people and leave them to bleed out with a 100% success rate.

  • That's definitely a glitch, all I can suggest is restarting your console and router.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Could the game struggle even more though?

at the moment, on top of everything else the game is handling, it’s also processing 20 modifiers (5 x 4 perks), and who is/isn’t also affected by these modifiers.

    Add in a 5th slot and that’s 25 modifiers.

These scripts should be extremely lightweight, no more than a line or two. I don't want more second chances or slowdown perks in my trials, so I don't want more perk slots, but it shouldn't effect the stability of the game at all.

And if it does, then we have yet more confirmation that BHVR absolutely cannot maintain their own game. And I will laugh. Bitterly and with the upmost contempt. Not for the team of skilled and talented developers, but for the terrible management and poor use of their skills.

I disagree. RPD feels like a new kind of map. One in which cat and mouse gameplay is explored much more. Hearing the heartbeat, not knowing if the killer is around the corner or on the floor above you gives the game scares it's been lacking for a while.

It's been lacking because it's extremely boring for most people. It's completely uninteractive gameplay and it really doesn't take any effort, skill or practice, and every chase is forced to be excruciatingly painful, with nothing but holding W with no chance to be cut off and ridiculous amounts of both god pallets/windows and worthless pallets/windows. And then there's the fact that the map is so big there's no point for the killer to even try. It's traversal time from end to end is the same as Mother's Dwelling and it has two seperate floors.

Stealth is already the easiest part about DbD. It didn't need yet another map purely dedicated to it. And certainly not one as insanely huge, confusing and ridiculously survivor-sided as RCPD.

Top things his hitboxes need to be cleaned(not fun to zoom to a gen and it be fixed because you hit a branch three feet away).

Animations need to be cleaned (not fun to loose potential hits and downs because your animations basically blind you).

Add-ons need to be improved (Some of the absolute worst in the game you become 4.4, you cool down when a flashlight is on you)

Fix those things and his numbers would go up again.

I doubt it, given that the two biggest hits to Billy were dedicated servers and a sharp increase in predrop-and-W. You'd see people try him out again, sure, but his real issues are that he's only comfortable to play if everyone in the trial has less than 30 ping and actually tries to loop.

  • Yeah, that map was not designed for DbD. It's just an enormous maze and any time you point that out some RE megafan that's etched the layout into their brain from dozens, if not hundreds of hours spent on it tells you that "it's all fine, the map is perfect."

RCPD really does exemplify why you can't lift maps from one game and drop them in another.

Except you don't, because SWF & microphones.

Even people who 'are only joking around' and 'never tryhard' will tell their buds where they are knocked down.

It's yet more glaring proof the devs never meant for Survivors to have mics.

Except it's insanely easy to beat solo teams due to a glaring lack of co-ordination, with Knockout being the perfect exemplar of why SWF is very much necessary.

  • Here's a better idea: completely rework Knockout and Third Seal so they don't exist purely to mass slug solo's, then remove it's basic attack requirement.

  • Oh, yes.

    I get Sandbaggers.

  • A functional emblem system that takes into account various advantages and disadvantages and throws them in the players faces.

It can be quite a humbling experience when the game tells you that you actually were playing on "easy" mode.

  • The problem isn't the imbalance, DbD is actually pretty balanced, it's a mixture between awful "high-level" play and equally bad matchmaking.

  • So, does anyone who argues for this sort of thing ever actually use the perk properly, or do we have a 2019 "DS only effects tunneling" situation on our hands?

  • Yeah, it's not just console players suffering. My first few trials are basically slide shows, and the rest are freeze-roulette: Will this skillcheck choke my frames, or will the next one? Will this hatchet make me pause mid-chase, or will the game randomly freeze for 10 seconds as the killer (presumably) watches me face ######### a wall?

Edit: That last one actually happened to me beside one of Ormonds snow plows, apparently I phased right through it and sat inside the thing for 5 seconds while my game decided whether or not it existed. My teammate thought I was hacking because my ping didn't spike.

  • I hate all exhaustion perks and think the entire mechanic is completely bullshite. They exemplify the hold-W meta. I've disliked them for nearly a year, and now, after so much free distance that they've given my completely skilless opponents, I absolutely despise them. Especially since I don't even use them myself and I do perfectly well, if not better than many (or most) of my Exhaustion-wielding teammates.

But Dead Hard? Dead Hard directly robs you of your hard work. It's the equivalent of a third health state. You essentially have to hit people 3 times to down them. Once to injure, once is the hypothetical swing you didn't even bother taking that massively extends the chase, then comes the third.

I hate free distance. But I hate free second chances even more.

  • I'm fairly certain Ghostface is the least faithful character, literally being an OG creation that very deliberately borrows heavily from Scream because the got the mask lisence, not the killer.

  • I've watched some gameplay, it seems as smooth as PC, at least on PS5

  • DbD. Cyberpunk was only really bad on last-gen consoles (which it shouldn't have even been released on, there is no way such old hardware could have ever ran the game even remotely decently. They should have released a massively, insanely paired-down version of the game).

Also, Cyberpunk is much higher profile, which is why the publicity and backlash was so huge despite similar issues.

  • They really, really are useless clutter. To use a terrible math analogy, if I were to buy lollipops at $1 a piece, tried to sell them at $1.20 a peice, failed miserably and ended up selling most of them for 50¢ or even 20¢, I made a ######### terrible purchase. If I was literally forced to buy them knowing I'm likely running a deficit, they aren't just a bad purchase, it's quite literally robbery and no amount of "but maybe you can mark them up" will change that.

Maybe purchasing BP offerrings isn't being held at gunpoint or whatever, but they are still clutter that needs to be removed. They cost more than they make and you always run a deficit. The only things worse than them are mist and basement offerrings.

oh okay so everyone who doesn’t use m1 on billy is ######### ………… ok

l am glad you guys took this post extremely seriously

do you really think M1 would ever be removed……..

stop taking the game so serious

Don't try to high road it, you made a dumb suggestion and I pointed out why it was dumb.

  • Billy's entire counterplay revolves around forcing him to m1. What you're basically asking for is him to not be able to down a good survivor ever.

  • Why? They don't release rifts back-to-back. If anything, they should be permanently extended.

  • @LegionOfDumb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2349806#Comment_2349806

No, none of the generators had been done and 2 people had already DC'd by then

Yeah, that's absolutely hacking then. Those doors the generator opens are the only way to get through the pallets without breaking them.

  • Had the generator in the bathroom beside the basement been repaired?

  • @Shaped said:

So you guys completely ignored the bm he mentioned lol.

When someone opens the thread crying about teabags everyone shows support. But when this guy on survivor side gets bm'ed you mock him.

    Classy.

Yeah, because this story has no real weight to it. "I ran someone for 3 gens and got BM'd." Great. That could mean you got in a twenty-second chase 75 seconds into the trial and dropped a pallet on yourself. Not to mention the fact that killers have to throw a trial to BM, so there's at least that satisfaction.

  • It's a good, flexible perk that no longer wins you trials.

  • People run me for 3 gens all the time. I call them "the first survivor I find". They usually (nearly always) predrop every pallet and hold a lot of W and don't actually last very long because those 3 gens all pop at the same time because that's a stupid way of measuring a chases length.

  • Because most of the time it isn't actually optimal, it's just laziness. Especially tunneling, that literally only works when survivors aren't slamming gens.

Edit: and "optimal" survivor usage requires a fucktonne of skill.

  • @Phasmamain said:

To anyone here. DON’T DRAW CONCLUSIONS FROM THESE

  • @Bigchungus223 said:

I guess the game isn’t so survivor sided after all.

It's only original killers/original survivors. And it seems to take into account all ranks.

  • @The_Krapper said:

I think they should just unretire the offering so people can get used to it , it's really not that bad I went in KYF for a few hours straight with this map every match and I've started to get used to the layout on survivor and killer, it feels alot bigger than it actually is because of the big open middle room

It takes the same amount of time to traverse the map, one side to the other, as Mother's Dwelling. It's effectively the biggest map in the game and requires even more distance to be traversed in order to switch floors.

  • @Bigchungus223 said:

The map is also not easy for survivors, I couldn’t find the exit gates once, had a generator 99% but still couldn’t find it.

We will get used to the map soon, even if it has a very bad design.

Plus there's only really god pallets/windows and worthless pallets/windows and it's often extremely difficult to tell which is which.

  • Using one thing to counter another is absolute fetid, steaming bullshite of the highest order. You shouldn't be mega ######### just because you didn't equip the right perk or bring the right item, or becuase the survivors did happen to equip the right perk or bring the right item.

There is no discussion to be had. If the basekit is the problem, that's where the solution has to be implemented or else it's merely a solution in hindsight. Everything else is just a bandaid, one that's unfortunately the Devs favourite tool. Look at NOED Vs solo's - instead of addressing the problem, they buffed a different perk. Wow. Such good thinking. Look at camping - instead of fixing the problem, they added a perk. Wow. Such good thinking. Look at bad early games - instead of fixing the problem, they added a perk. Wow.

    Such good thinking.

  • Given that you are only talking about killers, there's only one who doesn't have either a mask or twisted, mutilated face and/or body in the entire game: Trickster.

And if you're talking about survivors, then it's purely down to personal taste and pointless to discuss. You may as well be trying to start an argument about your favourite number.

  • If they add more zombies, the have to add more ways of dealing with zombies.

  • Are you seriously complaining about draw trials? Is that really the level of entitlement that has been reached?
