And that is, unironically, the map which I hate most. But then again, this is very subjective.
And you are getting PH in your trials? That is nice, haven't seen one in ages.
Yeah, a few. The most recent of which was on Dead Dawg last time I played, hence the connection on my mind
Edit: I also do think Dead Dawg needs some changes, pleasing a minority of people doesn't make a map good or fun

Well, I have no idea if that was the reason why those survivors decided to DC from my trials, but by the Entity I am glad they did.
It was Dead Dawg Saloon, so I didn't want to stay there.
That I understand. Dead Dawg is unironically one of my favourite survivor maps, but I get why killers and fellow survivors hate it. It's like me and PH, I just always get bad or creative ones these days and they're pretty fun.
-
It can't be, fear comes from the unknown and once you know something it doesn't scare you. That's not to say that "horror" isn't a great theme, though.
-
On the one hand, it is just Lightborn, but on the other hand there's more than a few stun/blind challenges so that's probably why a lot of people are DCing.
-
That's from back when console had Bill's perks but not Bill, isn't it?

And now, I can actually out you as ignorant and clearly just repeating what others told you.
BTW, drop the "us", you don't speak for everyone, same as GBK.
"How hard it suddenly becomes to simply get a job?"
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 | U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (eeoc.gov)
It is literally against the law to discriminate based off of sex. Being LGBT is included.
"How often you have pricks screaming slurs as they drive past?"
Only in extreme areas, and if you... apparently dress flamboyant or something? Seriously, do you not understand the gravity of what you're claiming? You're 100% leaving out context in your defensive response.
" Do you have any idea how little people even understand?"
Social media disproves this easily... buddy, look at the community you're posting in...
"How many medical professionals ignore their colleagues on "moral grounds"?"
Context?
"How much people invent preposterous nonsense about us?"
Not many... in first world countries. Because it's unpopular to say it. Just report them if they're on social media and get them banned.
"No. You don't. Because you're one of them, as clearly evidenced by your above rant."
I don't have to. Perhaps you need someone who ISN'T "one of us" for you to see the problems in what you're saying.
EDIT: MadLordJack, you have great thoughts in DBD topics. But this... doesn't work, sorry.
It's funny how much you claim I'm ignorant when I'm the openly trans woman and you're ignoring me.
Edit: and just because discrimination is illegal doesn't mean it isn't extremely widespread and often violent.
-
Yeah. It sucks when variety is lacking, especially since Blight has so much theoretical variety.

Yeah but it is an offensive word that still feels kinda directed at people who took this seriously more than the "whole community".
And also, you were jailed recently. I don't want you to get banned because of unnecessary things like this.
If I get banned for being too harsh with an insult directed at myself as well, then I get banned. That's just how it is.
Every community has its dumb moments. If someone wants me gone for pointing out that we made a huge mistake, so be it.

It IS being looked at BECAUSE the community reaction to it was so horrible.
I have said this already in this very thread.
Mass hysteria! That's the concept I was thinking of. Some people misunderstood the base concept and freaked out, which triggered everyone else in a cascade of suspicion and ignorance that swept the entire community and left it with the deep emotional scarring of "Oh my gods, we're all going to be banned just for playing the game".
It's just what happens when humans get together. There's no individuals at fault, not really, it's just mass hysteria. People being dumb because we can't help it until we step away. And the idea just got cemented.

The community reaction was completely unwarranted and based entirely on fearmongerong. That's my point. We all just went super stupid and followed the loudest voices and made the Devs freak out for no reason.

I like you and agree with you on a lot of topics (like this one for example) but I am not a fan when you call people names like you did here.
I'm not calling any individual names, I'm calling the entire community, that I'm also a part of, names.

I sincerely hope this guy is just trying to parody killer mains and isn't <actually> complaining about this
It's a serious and growing problem. Looping is being replaced by prethrown pallets and masisve W plays, meaning that there's both no skill and no interaction. That means no player retention because gameplay gets immediately stale, and less killers because it's just not fun to go against.

Why wouldn't we when that's literally how they said it will work.
Also look at the screen shot from the official announcement of the system above your comment.
Idk why your being so hostile when I am bringing up objective facts of the matter.
So they specifically said that the system wasn't ever going to look at anything else and that it's just going to go by the number of reports?
No?
That's why I'm annoyed. Because the entire community went dumb and decided that because they didn't elaborate on the specifics of the system, that the system had nothing to it.

<_> I was just pointing out what came out of the horse's mouth and how the community reaction to it got the devs to reconsider it.
The community is a bunch of morons that took an off-hand statement as gospel truth.
Edit: I didn't think this needed clarification, but that is directed at the community as a whole, not any individuals. Seriously, we went stupid.

The devs literally said on stream when the announced it that if you get enough reports your banned.
Its not people making it up its the devs saying it works in an extremely stupid way then backpedaled HARD on their statements.
And here we have another one who thinks that such an insane amount of exposition is proof that there is nothing more and we should all run.

It’s actually an ok perk.
To be fair, most killers don't have to play around the last gen or two and so have this idea that any lost gens is bad and not worth it.

Just as a friendly reminder that this is not true in America and any first world country. A look at social media proves how accepting it is... and how the admins immediately shut down anyone who might try to actually scrutinize things and not troll.
Third world countries like Iran (and China) though, yup.
No, it isn't. Do you have any idea how much discrimination we face? How hard it suddenly becomes to simply get a job? How often you have pricks screaming slurs as they drive past? No hooks nearby?
I've had that happen quite a bit, where a Survivor will crawl into a dead zone while I chase down his flashlight-saving friend. Then, I go back to the first person (to avoid being verbally abused as a 'slugger' by salty scrubs), find him in a dead zone, and go back to his friend, who ALSO crawled towards the dead zone.
You'd be surprised at how often Survivors put me in a position of 'Slug or wriggle free' and then act like I'm the villain for not letting them just wriggle free.
Yes, I certainly would be surprised given that it happens to me once in a blue moon. Killers I see doing that tend to just be pretending that the hook is too far away when in reality the amount of distance you can cover is enormous.
And even then, that requires survivors to be staying completely still and having no chance to escape at all, in which case any anti-BM mechanics like what was suggested wouldn't work.
-
People are scared and don't understand the concept of an automated banning system. They think that if they get report enough by anyone and for any reason, they'll get banned.
It's just mob mentality or whatever you want to call it, people switched their brains off and followed the loudest screamers.

AH yes, the Survivor mindset; Don't use tactics I don't like, lest I demand broken 'fixes' for those tactics.
What reason is there to leave survivors to bleed out on the ground over 4 minutes when everyone else is either dead or also slugged?
-
It would be nice to have people that don't predrop-and-W. I had a brief window where they were gone... Then their own sweaty antics made them depip and join us purple ranks because the current system is so bad.

Oh, alright! Thank you! That really put my mind to ease. The key being stolen was the thing I was worried about since I don't know the exact punishment for owning a stolen delisted DLC. Now however I can go to sleep as a happy man knowing my friend saved me some money.
If they can prove it was stolen, it's a different story. As it should be.

If a killer doesn't down and hook Survivors who are staying injured to complete their objective (which is the optimal Survivor play even without Adrenaline), the health boost from Adrenaline doesn't "undo all of the risk". Just because the killer failed to take advantage of the opportunities that were given to them doesn't mean that the opportunity wasn't there, or that the risk for the survivors wasn't there.
Adrenaline's reward is a health state and a speed boost, both of which are meaningless if you're not downed, injured or in a chase. In fact, if you're not any of those things, the perk actively hurts you by restarting your Exhaustion. Adrenaline is one of the healthiest perks in the game, OP was right to see that it doesn't really need any serious changes.
What opportunities? Trials last 4 minutes. There's no "opportunities" there, just a perk covering people's arses. People are injured? Who cares, they're off slamming the last 2 gens, if you get close they're just going to take off early and prethrow every pallet, same as what's been happening for the last 2 minutes.
When your average trial is that short, there's no time to exploit any "opportunities". It's just survivors slamming gens and getting a free heal just in case you might have gotten a late-game snowball, something that used to happen a lot back when people weren't using Adrenaline.

Literally every killer moves fast enough to deal with hold W. You just... hold W yourself.
And gain distance at a rate of 0.6 m/s. Meaning that a small 10m gap takes over 15 seconds to close. A more reasonable gap of 20m takes 30. Add in an exhaustion perk for 6m and a few prethrown pallets and that killer is completely screwed.
Killers seem a lot faster than survivors because they can usually cut them off somehow. Not a survivor that's holding W. This gameplay is so strong it's literally competitive DbD. This is what they do instead of looping, which is why it's only Nurse, Spirit and a little bit of Blight.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
This is really killer dependent.
Not really. Wraith, Blight, Spirit, and Nurse if she has certain add-ons are the only ones that can deal with holding W. Everyone else can be dodged, even Huntress. Slinger to an extent counters it, but his projectile is unreliable at best at those sorts of long distances.
-
If I actually want a trial to last longer than 3 minutes, I need slowdown perks. Doesn't matter which killer. Too many pallets, too much W, too many exhaustion perks for distance, too many survivors that know to split up and slam gens.
-
@gendoss said:
There are already counters to exhaustion in this game but you just don't want to use them. If you are really getting frustrated by exhaustion perks then Blood Echo and Mindbreaker are your friend. Oh but of course you shouldn't have to change up your play style to meet others, that's too much work.
I've used both and they both suck because the game isn't even balanced around Exhaustion. Even when they finally effect survivors in any meaningful way, the survivor just plays a little safer and you wasted 1-2 perk slots.
-
I'm not sure how you think Adrenaline is at all okay. The "risk" is minimal and the reward is enormous and comes from genrushing. Stay injured, slam gens, and have a perk undo all of the risk. What's that? Killer's trying to snowball? Get ######### noob, everyone's healthy and the slug picked themselves up.
Not to mention the fact that there's no risk for any exhaustion perk except perhaps Head On. Smash Hit? Camp the pallet and get a double speed boost. Adrenaline? Rush gens and predrop pallets. Balanced Landing? Free distance, minimal thought. Lithe? Same. Sprint Burst? 99ing takes a trial to learn. Dead Hard? Outplay with a button press.
-
Those two perks have completely different uses and do completely different things. There is no comparison to be made. No amount of twisted logic can ever bring them together.
-
@gendoss said:
NOED.
Sort of, but NOED is also pretty crap. It's the worst of both worlds, it's ridiculously unfair and nearly worthless. Dead Hard, though, is one of the strongest perks in the game.
I still wish they'd buff the absolute crap out of Coup De Grace so that everyone can know the pain.

Not yet. When consoles have been "fixed" in two weeks or so then sure, but up until then no. The whole reason they were disabled in the first place were due to last gen console issues anyways.
I've had quite a few teammates and opponents DC when they're absolutely winning. No-one does that. It is crystal clear to me that those are crashes.
-
Yes, let's re-enable DC penalties when the game is having its worst wave of unintentional disconnects.
Also, suiciding is still a thing. But still, DC penalties.

I'm pretty sure that's how it initially was and it wasn't really appealing to use.
Because it's timer was insanely short and it still showed the generator aura.
-
It's so the survivors can disable it. I think it should just be reworked to not be tied to the regression of the generator and instead be on a flat timer.
-
The only real change they did was make him easier. He's no different to go against now than facing a good Trickster a month ago.
Which just goes to show how many unpleasant killers fly under the radar.

Exactly. With Blight being a close 2nd to both of them.
And Bubba, too. At best, the survivor was caught by a pallet and the Mowing Of The Pallets begins.
-
You're right, now that I know where to stand to never get mindgamed Shack is extremely uninteractive. The only time anything even remotely resembling a mindgame happens any more is when the killer has control of the pallet and the survivor has to decide whether to fake or vault.

I don’t like Lethal Pursuer either. Not because of it’s function, but because of how skewed in the killers favour it is for them to get a down that quick, especially if it’s a first hook camp.
I think it's fine on most killers because chasing is a thing and the Devs failed to live up to their promise of an Early Game Collapse, it's just that on the killers like Spirit or Nurse it's an uncounterable and overwhelming early snowball because there's no defence against them.
-
Badham is considered one of the most unbalanced realms in the entire game. RCPD, Haddonfield, The Game and Cowshed are the only ones that seem worse.
Not that RNG can't make Coal Tower the new Haddonfield, I've had that happen before.
-
I used to play a lot more. Now I think I play anywhere between 10-40 hours a week, usually at the lower end.
-
Kate and Zarina. The burnt out sell-out and her moral compass. <3
-
I honestly don't find it fun. It's just too strong. 20 seconds into a trial and you've already got a down, and that's assuming you were taking it easy.
I'm just gonna stick to my Hexes.
-
It never happens to me. There's always at least 2 gens done, usually 3. That's just the nature of AU, is suppose - even the awful teams do gens at the start before they die horribly.
But it also means that I don't really stretch out a trial til someone's dead. It's too likely they'll slam the last few gens while I'm taking it easy.

Make sure you're hooked multiple times to take full advantage of all Resurgence has to offer.
I've always divided perks into two groups. Plan for failure or plan for success. This falls into the former category. It's a good perk, but if you planned on succeeding you'd be the rescuer and be running We'll Make it. You know?
It's really solid if you're learning the game, along with a lot of other perks. Nothing wrong with it, save for the fact I get less Altruism from healing you after the unhook.
You're supposed to be hooked. If you aren't getting hooked, you're either bullying a baby or your team is dying.
-
It's We'll Make It but for yourself, I think that makes it pretty damn good. Pair it with Self Care or Bond, maybe even in a full healing build with We'll Make It as well.

The worst case scenario is him being able to completely and utterly lock down an area almost instantly. Which is a tool that would mostly be used for camping.
Edit: you have to remember, his traps are stronger than Hag's when they go off

I literally just had a Meg DC from a Legion Instadown. I think that sort of behaviour is why megheads get such a bad reputation.
Although I'm honestly starting to think there's an element of pro-Dwight sentiment involved, because I see way more terrible, terrible Dwight's but they get called cute instead of terrible.
