Keeping it civil is how you make friends with people you disagree with. Being a douche is how you make enemies with people you agree with.
Figured that one out all by myself. Bit late, of course, but I got there.
-
So long as it cannot be used aggressively, I think that'd be the best change since they decided to rework the maps.
-
I haven't seen any maps more than others this weekend, except that I did get 2 swamp maps back-to-back earlier today

Okay... I think you hay have misread this thread, it's about the effect of taking Bloodlust away from Haddonfield during this no-Bloodlust weekend
-
I highly doubt it. Not that they collect such information, but that they will be able to use it with some small measure of competence. While they have done a fine job making a fun and beautiful game, they have shown that they cannot read data if their livelihoods depended on it.

I swear, the house of pain, that yellow house with the window to the side downstairs and the suuuper long fences offer some really fun and engaging gameplay :]
And the kitchen window in the two-story house, and the window at the end of the hall on the second floor when the nearby doorway to the balcony is either blocked or a window, or the pallets at the corners of the houses that genuinely become infinite loops all the way around the house (but they're pallets, so...)

Sadly bloodlust helps not much. Haddonfield is broken with or without Bloodlust.
Can't argue with that.

As if I couldn't hate the map more I learn this information.
I'm so glad I haven't gotten that map just yet and I hope I never will. Not till 4pm anyway.
On the flip side, I had it as Survivor and managed to find the deadest corner (House of Pain with no pallets (somehow)) and also stayed there and got downed/hooked 3 times in 3 minutes because I'm a genius.
-
Nothing beats being able to push a button to completely undo your own incompetence. And no matter how much you 99 your SB, there's always going to be a couple of times per trial where you are forced to either waste it or walk.
-
The same reason I keep playing Worms games: who cares if it's balanced, it's fun. Admittedly I can't drop an exploding cow or a donkey from the heavens atop my opponents heads, but I feel like that would be a little... Jarring.
-
A huge problem I've run into is an increase in Hold-W. That alone makes me feel that Bloodlust should stay, because I genuinely chased someone from one corner of Mothers Dwelling to the other and they collided with the damn wall before I hit them. No pallets, no windows, just running forward in a straight line. Now, granted, I was playing Pallet Freddy so it was understandable action to take, but that was only one of my trials and in every single one I've had at least one person "outplay" me. (I've noticed no difference otherwise in terms of looping.)
Running forward in a straight line needs some form of punishment, because there is zero counterplay. I hate Bloodlust, I don't think it should be in the game once the ridiculously strong areas are removed like they have been doing, but at the same time it kind of feels like DS: Killers need it to "counterplay" that 1 ridiculous, fun-destroying thing survivors can do, let's all hope no-one abuses it and becomes what they hate.
-
What's the problem with genrushing? With holding W? All they are are completely uninteractive experiences that nullify the entire point of playing the game and make your opponent miserable, what's the problem with that?
-
I think most of the "weak" killers are stronger than people want to think, but my top 2 most underrated killers are probably Deathslinger and Legion.
The map updates have just been buffing Legion this entire time. M1 chase is more viable than ever, and legion is actually a pretty great m1 killer. Smallish model, low footsteps, and gets everyone injured nice and quick. Couple that with mending slowdown and that's actually not a bad killer. Not overly great, either, but still not as bad as people want to believe.
And most people acknowledge that Deathslinger is decent, but a killer with absolutely no real counterplay is so much better than people realise. A god-level Slinger can end chases so damn quick it's actually not funny. The only way to beat him is the generic genrush. Very, very few other killers can claim that.
-
Because the game is a horror game that's balanced around survivors not having a lot of information, just like in a horror story. You're basically supposed to ignore the fact that voice chat exists and just use that 1 map add-on. And I'm really, really not kidding, that is the reason.
Edit: and I mean specifically that 1 map add-on. That's what the Devs suggested everyone use a while back. As survivor. Bring that item and add-on every trial.

It’s fun for the jump scares. It’s not totally unviable. But this poor Myers was clearly banking their success on using the build on Midwich. He couldn’t get the jump on any of us on Blood Lodge.
Yeah, funny that. Imagine not being able to stealth on Blood Lodge.
Edit: As a 105 killer. Whose entire power is negated by there being no walls.
I think I would have just sat in the main building and tried to drophit someone. Personal victory.
-
I would have preferred Midwich. But I like SMM on indoor maps, it actually feels somewhat balanced
-
Ghosthag Trapface. I wanna spook survivors into phantasms and instahitdown them.
-
I got accused of tunneling one time, but I didn't take it too seriously since the person in question was fully healed and all alone and working on a generator in my face twice. Same gen, too. As survivor? Haven't seen anything at all, in fact I've been getting 12-hook killers. Which I really advise not being, anyone whose reading this. It's nice an all, but so not pretty.
-
Plague has 2 more good perks, Hag only has 1 but it's a whopper. I would say to buy Plague, especially since Corrupt is actually an amazing slowdown perk to just slap on and forget about, and it works especially well with killers that have a terrible early game (like Ghostface). And Infectious Fright is amazing, it is the perk for snowballing. It is especially good on chase killers like Blight and Pyramid Head.
And then there's Ruin. If you have Blight, you probably have Undying. Those two perks were made for each other. If you're after raw strength over the variety of having 2 other perks, then get Hag for Ruin. Third Seal is so weak it's practically a meme, though, so it shouldn't really factor in to your decision.
Edit: You know, that sounded more dictatory than I feel comfortable with. If you wanna muck about with Third Seal, be my guest. I like off-meta builds myself, and Undying actually makes it a fair bit better. It's just not going to win you many trials like Ruin, Corrupt and IF can.

Exactly.
It allows self sufficiency, but it’s still a load out that’s very helpful to the team.
Self Care on its own without a med kit right from the get go (not because a med kit ran out) usually causes more problems than it solves.
I would also like to say that Self Care + Built To Last + yellow medkit is a good combo, because you run out of the medkit about 2/3 of the way through the second heal, finish with SC while BTL is recharging the kit, and when you're done you have 50% of a medkit, which is still a heal and a half. So it's actually better than Botany Knowledge if you feel like foregoing the blanket bonus to speed.
-
Self Care + Botany + yellow medkit. That's the way to go. 2 medkits heals and Self Care/Botany once it's done. Mmmmm.
-
This is unacceptable. You must join the Blighterhood. We just got new robes an everything, and Talbot's been baking these little pink cupcakes with lemon icing...
Uh, I mean, screams and alchemy. Yes. And serum.
With sprinkles.
-
I would actually consider running it just to avoid those absolute prick skillchecks that trigger as you let go. Also it's nice to hear gens at a larger distance. But, I am addicted to healing and altruism at the moment and I do not see that going away any time soon, so...
-
Depends on what you mean by "safe." Most people mean pallets that the killer is forced to break even against potatoes (jungle gyms, killer shack, god pallets in corridors, etc), but there's plenty of pallets that cannot be mindgamed and have to be broken that a lot of people don't consider safe because they can be bloodlusted. Or are just plain unsafe against potatoes. They look very similar to unsafe pallets, but their loops are a bit larger.
-
I'm definitely going to buy it when it releases, because I'm fine with early access titles. However, it's not going to be labeled early access, so people are going to buy it without knowing it's unfinished.
-
Myers.
Hang on...
-
If they actually added more ways to get the tokens, and/or made it so they are consumed after landing a lunge, not starting one, then it would be a solid perk.

They can't simply raise the model with the camera. If they did, all of his animations would be out of alignment. They will have to likely reanimate/reposition his arms.
And my point is that they likely won't. The most probably outcome is them simply shifting his wrists down and reangling his hands.
-
As everyone has already said, through pain and anguish and getting hardcore bullied. There is no practice mode, so all you can do is go get wrecked til you've got the hang of it.
-
@Ghost_Face_Main said:
One thing to remember is that this change will take alot of time. To increase his POV is to rearrange all of his FPV animations.
They clipped his model through the bottom of the world in order to lower his PoV. That's the kind of spit-and-polish we should expect from slightly redone vault and break animations.

I've been getting MMR-like MM at rank 1 the past few days, and so have many other people. There is absolutely positively zero reason to remove bloodlust for a couple days and tell people about it. It's like finding out how many times a coin will land on heads, but only flipping it 5 times. It's meaningless. They're testing out an MMR system without bloodlust. It also makes more sense than just removing bloodlust for a weekend out of the blue.
I asked for evidence, not words. Got any hard data?

I think in such a scenario it is fully rerolled rather than modified. It works this way with totems and hooks afaik, and pallets are likely not different.
There's also a min distance parameter which for whatever reason can sometimes be ignored for this exact tile.
I was paraphrasing one of the Devs, who answered in a previous thread about this occurance why it happened.
-
It makes the variant with the hook at the corner into a god window, but even then you can still play the top half.
-
Alright. Evidence to support your argument?

@DetailedDetriment said:
This is a glitch. It rarely happens, but when it does, it can spawn something insane like two pallets at a jungle gym.
Pallet spawns like this don't make a difference when you just camp every one though. lmao.
It's not exactly a glitch. The game scans the tiles it has spawned, decides there aren't enough pallets based on some magical arbitrary number in the sky, and spawns an extra one at one of these areas that are normally one-or-the-other. As far as I am aware, based on the tiny little amount of information given about it, it seems to be intended behaviour.

not really, Bubba's chainsaw isn't really an anti-loop measure, most likely it comes against you
Good to see that snapshot of your experience.
-
Blight and Deathslinger.
-
Nope. The game takes a snapshot of your account pre-PTB and when you return to live servers, that's what your account looks like.
Edit: unless just never returned to live servers, in which case I have no idea what'll happen
-
Bubba might be one of the worst examples for your argument, given that you really should be using your chainsaw more than once every 30+ seconds.

I imagine the house of pain on badham and Haddonfield are literally infinites now with the right window spawn against Deathslinger and Huntress...
They already were, weren't they? I don't remember ever being able to keep chase long enough as a 110 killer to gain Bloodlust thanks to the LoS blockers.
Although at least Hag, Spirit and Slinger could do something about it. Poor old Huntress...

So, if we do some quick math, that means that in order for you to reach Level 1 Devotion 0, you'll have to be in trial for about a billion hours.
I never though that a single bug could cause so much debt.
Okay, so I actually did the maths, and assuming that 1 Devotion level is 200 hours, you need to play DbD for 30 million+ years.

No, I mostly use Plague Bile and/or Umbra Salts.
-
Disabling the red stain would be a huge nerf to killer. It is literally how mindgames happen, without it there's no way to provide false information for the survivor to follow.
-
@senki527 said:
there are no endless loops around a pallet, because the killer is always faster as survivor
Tell that to killer shack, jungle gyms, and certain main buildings/indoor maps. And now that bloodlust is being temporarily disabled (which I think is a good thing) certain junk tiles are also going to become that strong.

Have some fish.

It may be a myth, I personally don't know, since I don't play late at night, but i've been told more "sweaty" players play late at night.
Yeah, its when people in a region have most/all of their friends available to SWF, and that drives killers up the wall and they break out the sweatpants, and then all the chill players have to keep up or die so they also put in headbands, and (to paraphrase myself from another post) it just becomes a clusterfuck of people that wouldn't normally be going so hardcore but kind of feel pressured to.

Might be a regional difference or a rank difference, since I tend to play pretty casually and thus usually hover at high green/low purple ranks on killer (on the rare occasions that I play killer on a regular basis).
However, I do reach red ranks as a survivor if I play somewhat regularly, and unless I'm going up against a super tryhard killer who absolutely demolishes everyone, the trials have been fairer as of late. I still get the occasional noob, which sucks for everyone, but those seem to be occurring with less frequency.
And to keep the running commentary going, and OoO, bunch of DS, bunch of UB, couple of Prove Thyselves and a good old key and hatch offerring.
Edit: bit of a standout trial, but still something I see on the regular. And I'm a PH, so I'm also being unfair.

Actually, I know what the problem is: I play late at night, as in right now I'm playing some PH and it's 11.32pm my time and I just checked my opponents profiles and they're all friends but 1. When I play earlier in the day, it's way more chill.

How dare you accuse me of such a thing?
In all seriousness, yes, I enjoy it, when it's fair. Losing because I'm being matched with rank 16 survivors isn't fair and doesn't make for an interesting trial.
Nothing about DbD is fair. I get outperked, outmapped, and outgenned far, far more than I get outplayed.
