No, it wastes everyone's time. Even if three survivors do all the gens and make it out best the survivors can hope for is safety pip (probably de-pip) and way less blood points than in a healthy game. Killer is definitely not going to have any blood points and will de-pip -- waste of everyones time.

where is it a waste for everyone’s time if only two players gameplay is stalled? A facecamping killer allows 3 survivors free roam of the entire map. 🤔

  • @darktrix said:

Usually such a player will be able to face camp two people in a game - not every swf and especially not solos are coordinated enough to know to just knock out gens in this scenario and keep the damage to one. The worst thing that can happen is one gets face camped while the other three survivors are crouching around the area trying to make a save. That's the worst thing I can see if I get camped - no one doing gens and wasting my distraction time on the hook. With no gens are getting done it is highly likely he will get away with face camping everyone.

It is a toxic playstyle done on purpose to waste everyone's time. No one is getting anything useful in points or emblems.

It’s only wasting “everyone’s” time if you allow it. At best, it’s wasting the Killers time and the hooked Survivors time. If you CHOOSE to sit there idly and watch, that’s your fault. That’s the only “toxic” strategy a killer has. Literally 3 more survivors can complete the objective within the window.

I am the only killer who feels sometimes with the survivors?

In my last match as example, on springwood, I was on my way to my fourth kill and then a Blendette tryd to put a pallet down, only to come on the wrong side out after it - the side where I have stay.

This and similar matches are sometimes matches were I would like to let people - or more people go, but then I remember, that I am the killer and my objective is to kill :|

Or, what would the other survivor think, who got no mercy at all?

Please don't tell me, that I am alone with thouse thougts, guys.

I am sure, some guys here have sometimes similar toughts, or made similar experiences, or I am wrong?

Ahm... and yes... Happy new year to everyone^^!

What rank are you? I had your sympathies last week before I started meeting SWF 1-2 ranks.

You'll lose those sympathies once you experience the toxic survivor group that trolls you by intentionally triggering your traps to bait looping, body blocking, etc.

Looping is already in their favor so don’t feel bad for them sliding to the wrong side or blocking themselves out.

I'm gonna cry. I can't believe that rank 5 killer (bubba) hooks a survivor, face camps and moves on.

So he downs his first surv 30 seconds into the game and I was chilling on a gen and I went for a save. I stand there in disbelief. Hes just walking around the hook for full 2 mins until he died. I tried to get his attention so that someone may get the save but he wouldn't move. So first survivor died and I loop him for 3 gens and finally get hooked while the last 2 did last gens they tried to go for me and then boom noed lool. I'm so ded😂

How little dignity do you need to have to have 10 comments on your steam profile saying "FACE CAMPING", and then saying git gud in chat.

    So annoying.

30 seconds to down the survivor + hook and 2 minutes facecamping = 2.5 minutes.

3 survivors alive, 80 seconds max to complete gens solo with no ruin

    150 seconds - 80 seconds = 70 seconds (1 minute, 10 seconds)

3 gens completed and 70 seconds left.

2 survivors on gen = 44.44 seconds to repair

3 survivors on gen = 33.33 seconds to repair

Within that 2.5 minutes, you could have:

    1) Completed all generators or 4.75 gens

    2) Completed 4 gens, destroyed totems.

    3) Completed all gens:

    • “looped him for 3 gens” (time it takes to do 3 gens with 2 survivors = 124.44 seconds + 20* seconds for moving to the last. So 144.44 seconds, assuming they worked purely on generators).
    • In those 2.5 minutes of looping, both other survivors could’ve: 1) Opened Gate, 2) Found Totem.

Instead, you focused your time on him facecamping. Survivors have the advantage against a killer that facecamps a survivor to death.

  • @Zender said:

I’m a rank 1 survivor (pipping is very easy with survivor) and just got to rank 4 killer (hag, huntress, Myers, Bubba) and the matches are starting to get brutal.

@LustForBP have you had any of this happen:

object of obsession with flashlight - I could literally not catch this person. First chase just quit after 20 seconds and two pallet stuns plus blinded (only 15 pallets left on map!)

had them unhook in your face, bodyblock then someone head ons you.

2 gens get done in about 65 seconds.

had this match recently, they all escaped and it didn’t even seem hard. I think I got 2 maybe 3 hooks total. They were all on comms rank 1-2. Playing as hag so I was slower, they just ran through my traps 360s, teabags, flashlights, DS, sprint bursts, adrenaline, pallets galore.

i almost dc’ed but stuck it out. It felt like I was in 3rd grade and 4 8th graders were toying with me. Like a cat plays with a mouse. So much for being a killer.

these ranks really force you into playing like 5 killers only (some claim to rock face with m1s but unless you got mobility a team like this will destroy you)

people say these kinds of players are rare but rank 1-3 is where they live so I run into it about 25% of the time.

I call BS that they’re “rare”. I deal with them everyday.

Also, I rotate Killers as I think I said. I enjoy the hag because her traps give me heart attacks sometimes. When I play her, strong loopers purposely trigger my traps over and over to bait loops. That is literally the most annoying thing. Half the time I ignore my traps but get a survivor that trolls me by triggering my traps

as for the object, I ignore them. Most survivors that use it are strong loopers and it gives them the ability to track you.

This is why I want to be rolled back to Green/Yellow. The amount of boring I get from red/purples is surreal. You are limited to Top Tier killers in red/purple. (For those killers reading that are gods at playing and can kill anyone with any killer, this is not for you lol)

I would also be confused. Honestly most killers I come across just camp and then tunnel the person off the hook to make good use of that mori. I guess I can't really blame them but I wish they were actually a little more ultra rare. And please, mori all the Claudettes. Do it for all the survivors who aren't afraid to play the game and don't hide the entire time. DO IT.

I’ve not come across an Ebony in a while tbh.

2 days in a row. It gets old quick.

This is kinda one of the reasons we need individual ranks for our killers if i want to level my level 1 spirit i cant do that in red ranks because ill be absolutely destroyed. I normally fair pretty well against swfs depends on what build im running. If im running nemesis leatherface i just need to find my obssession and get my 3 stacks then chase after another survivor. Good luck looping a leatherface going at 15% more movement speed. But other killers its knowing when to give up a chase. (Kinda hard though since survivors will just keep running back to the best area to deal with you each time). Also the ds at the end is a classic annoyance because its like just wait for it to run out but by the time itd run out the survivor would have crawled out.

I can play well against SWF too if I use my tryhard build. But that’s literally not fun lol. Playing against greens, yellows and even grays is much more fun because I don’t need to sweat and I can let them escape without feeling worthless.

I play the same way. I don't go in aiming for a win, just to have fun. I usually main GF so I kinda just mess around with them when I see the match going south for me. A majority of times, I get thanked and told they enjoyed the match. I just wish Reds would be like lower ranks and just enjoy the game, not turn it into some kind of E-Sport rush

I try to play for fun, I rotate throughout all the Killers except 4 to mix it up. I played as Mike, I think it was, and played a group of Greens or Yellow before I kept ranking and ranking. They thanked me for the mindgames and jump scares. Amazing how friendly new players can be that haven’t learned the ######### tactics of reds and low purples.

Bump before the sympathizers get in here and say “Not all Survivors are toxic.” Of course not, but don’t even pretend the Survivors don’t think we’re all toxic.

I legit brought an Ebony Mori, not to kill the Survivors. I do it to mess with their mentality. They think I’ll kill them instantly so they instantly over respect me and drop pallets long before I show up. I sacrifice them all, or as many as possible, and I get told off for “bringing a Mori.”

Survivor effin’ logic my dudes. You don’t have to even be toxic, but because you’re a killer player, you’re automatically toxic.

Bring Iri head on Huntress? Sweaty Huntress.

Bring Tombstone Myers? Worthless Mori abusing bastard.

Coxcombed clapper on Wraith? “Sure, take away our only way of knowing you’re uncloaking!”

Iri King Doctor? “OP Add On, screw you devs! But mostly you for abusing it!”

Black Incense on Plague? “Gotta love that Add On bbq abuse, git gud fuckface” (legit quote direct from a Survivor post match.)

Unlike you Survivors who can bring in a super toolbox and LEAVE the match with it, once we burn the Add On, that’s it! It’s gone! And before anyone says “Use Franklins then scrub” cool, then in response to my NOED, run Small Game and Adrenaline.

But it’s okay, time and time again, BHVR has shown favoritism towards Survivors, and that’ll never change. It’s sad, because I’d love to see Bubba and Amanda take the Spotlight and become Killers who don’t rely on one gimmick build to function, or to have Amanda’s RBTs actually do something! But we’re more likely to get an Adrenaline Buff that changes it to also give Endurance effect, Permanent Aura vision of the Killer, and blocks Exposed till the end of the match, because “Adrenaline is underperforming compared to our Spring data, Amanda is OP.”

I would love to have these Survivors play against the Hunters in Identity V. “I’m sorry, you can’t not look away from me, else I’ll get a free hit from dashing behind you, because I’m Michiko.” Or “You can loop me, but can you loop those 2 as well as me, all at once?”

I lose and get messages from killers “trash” “ezzzz” “get good”

one game i camped a troll, and strong looper for 2ks and get messages afterwards:

”wow you suck that bad” “getgood camper” “you’re trash camper”

but proceeded to body block, aggressively loop me, and rush gens. 🤦🏽‍♂️

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I share your pain. I was in Purple ranks as Killer before Rank reset and went against a full team of Reds. Never again will I go that high. Ever. They spent the match saboing every hook possible, making sure to DS if I ever got one downed after a hooking, body block constantly. Mess with scratches, and because they were in identical outfits (all 4 Claudettes), they kinda did a switch behind cover to throw me off the loop. It was the most unfun game of my life, and I'm not proud but I did end up walking away from my xbox in rage and just letting them all get on with whatever it was they wanted to continue doing. Needless to say, they spent the following 25 minutes entering and leaving my radious for BP, along with farming from each other. SwF and Red ranks are huge reasons I never let my Rank go high anymore. The game stops being fun for me at that point.

100% agree my dude. I try and play killer for fun, I could care less about 4ks as long as it was enjoyable. Funny chases, scaring survivors, etc. most of the time I spend getting trolled, regardless of ignoring strong loopers. I play maybe 2-3 games of killer and switch to survivor if my friends are on, we don’t even try in survivor either and we’re red rank from literally having fun and barely escaping, after those games I’m off most of the time from playing killer. It’s beyond boring and a waste of time as a killer.

Oh, you edited in a comment. Nice.

To add to that, they were by the Exit Gates. My best bet was the injured survivor or no survivor. I wasn’t expecting DS, but I forget that’s just another chance the devs have given survivors at a hope of survival.

  • @hocrux said:

Your fault, learn to manage/spread pressure throughout the map, why chase someone not doing anything?

“I don’t chase as I’m already annoyed by them”

Not once did I spend more than 15 seconds messing with them. I can tell a strong looper when they stand in the open baiting. I had as great map pressure as you can have when the gens are all 50 meters away from each other. I had 2 hooked before one gen was completed. As soon as Ruin pops, it’s bam bam bam for gens in this game against SWF.

When survivors are equipped with perks like, DS, BT, DH, SC or Adrenaline, it makes for an annoying game. Especially with survivors that have all the intentions of trolling. Because that’s “amusing” in this game.

  • @Majora said:

Yup only way to shut them up is to sacrifice them. If you even give them any leniency they will unhook in your face they will tbag and insult you after the match

Yeah, it’s unbelievable. I try to play the game “fair” from my perspective as a survivor and every time I try, I get douchebags that try way too damn hard. It’s slowly ruining my vibe about the game.

  • I now understand, THIS is why Killers tunnel and camp.

  • @Seanzu said:

Except Killers always beg for more nerfs AND get to choose who they play against.

What? 🤔 Nobody wants to play against 4 toolboxes or 2 flashlights and a map and key. If they leave pre-game, you can’t get pissed at them. Simple. As for load times, I find matches within 5 minutes as a survivor. (Xbox)

    [edit]

more survivors beg for nerfs than anything, hence how many killers have been ruined.

  • Depends.

If I see a 4-man toolbox, and I want to sweat, I run plague.

Corrupt Intervention, Pop, Ruin, and Dying Light/Dark Devotion

I use the add ons for longer vile on objects. Helps me keep track of specific areas. Unless they don’t cleanse, but then they’re in broke and it makes easier to kill them. Sometimes, I might even throw in NoED 🤷🏽‍♂️

I don't think it is that good because good survivors won't heal vs legion. Also, it is very hard to chain more than 2 hits if survivors go for the better play which is to spread out and do gens alone.

The power can't help in chases and in map travel unless you have duration add-ons (which makes the killer add-on reliant).

I rarely get a 2 or less kills with legion but that is because i have around 800 hours with them and i sweat a lot playing (sometimes). Either way it feels very bad to use their power, the killer needs mostly QoL changes and buffs along the way, because the QoL changes are some buffs too.

But from my understanding Legion was intended to be add-on reliant? I just feel if the power is buffed then gg to me because I already struggle against good Legions.

  • @Rivyn said:

As in, every killer is ranked by themselves, not as a whole. My Plague could be rank 4, for instance, while my Freddy could be rank 18.

I struggle when it comes to branching out to 'newer' killers that I want to learn, mostly because I'm sitting at high purple rank most of the time. By then, I'm facing, mostly, quality loopers on their way to red ranks. Most every match is a curb stomp, unless I spend a million or two BP on meta perks. Even then, a decent build doesn't equate to knowledge on how the killer works.

I used to try out killers I don't normally play just after rank reset, but now that we only go up one color level, it won't mean much. If each killer had their own ranking, would it be workable, or is the idea just a dud?

I don’t think that’s a good idea. It takes me maybe 1-2 matches to learn a new killer or re-learn. Yeah, spending BP sucks to be viable but it’s part of the game.

    Example:

I purchased Freddy yesterday. Played 2 games and for curb stomped. But now I’m pretty good with him.

Its about learning each Killers abilities because that’s all that changes.

Matchmaking has been so borked lately. I was getting used to seeing teams of rank 2/3 survivors against rank 8/9 killer (not fun), but then got this one. The killer was obviously new and got destroyed.

I know there's the argument that rank doesn't matter, but I feel that with the current system, red rank survivors are generally better than they used to be. Add in group communication and it can be pretty miserable for the killer. Especially when the killer is so new. It can be really unfun and potentially putting people off coming back to the game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/126/VTK7ML8KQDFN.png

I wouldn’t say that 18 got destroyed. Looks like he held his ground pretty well. I’m a rank 6 and I’ve played straight 1s and barely touched 10k BP.

I’ve also encountered a killer who said he intentionally de-ranked because of “toxic survivors” yet hook camped with insta-stalk GF. Hypocritical I know. But ranks mean f-all in this game tbh. It’s too easy to smurf and too common to get displaced on skill.

I think legion isn't viable and i do well with them.

When you judge a killer, it's mainly their power that needs to be judged (the main part of their gameplay identity) and legion's power is really underwhelming, lackluster, too restricted and feels bad to use, compared to the OG legion's power.

    That's why i think legion isn't viable

Eh. That’s why I find Legion viable. I’ve played too many Red Legions that get the 4k against us or at least 2.

Frenzy puts you into -2 health states since you have to mend then heal. Which gives a good Legion all the time to make his/her rounds or makes it a living hell for the last person hit.

    -Oni and Hag in general

    • Avoid high ping lobbies
    • Nothing you can really do about that. Hope you’re team is willing to rescue you and good at body blocks.
    • See above.
    • Nothing you can do if you’re solo.
    • Don’t get hooked but I mean a direct counter to a Mori is a key, so what’s wrong?
    • Get a decent squad or perks. Oni Killers usually slug, so run unbreakable and/or iron will. Self-care or Med-kits can help. But overall it depends on your teams assistance. As for the hag, good luck if they’re really good.
  • @Clevite said:

Like title says. If I get saved 10 seconds on hook I would still have 50 seconds until second stage.

It may deter camping but I guess increase tunneling.

Killers would get opportunity for more hook actions and points. And survivors may be more altruistic.

This would not deter camping if survivors being hooked is based on a timer rather than hook count. This would increase toxic mindsets and make it extremely difficult for a killer to ever get a 4k let alone 2 kills.

    120 seconds x 4 = 8 minutes

    80 seconds/gen x 5 = 6.5-7 minutes

3 gens can be 75% completed during a survivors 1st stage.

How do you propose that’s fair?

  • @NullSp3c said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/953430#Comment_953430

I agree with what you said.

Now the biggest issue with legion is that killers that are really good with a high number of survivors at the same time, are usually too good or too bad.

Because if they can deal with 4, they can deal with 1 very easily. Now legion is very weak right now.

When the devs did the update back in may, they had 2 choices: maintain the chase power, or the chaining hits power.

They chose the 2nd option and that leads to the point that i've mentioned before.

Legion's power was designed for both things and, for me, i think the power would be better to be a chase power that you run faster and stab the person and can vault windows faster (not pallets).

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ieKuT2cboQ&t=0s

This video will show a idea to change the power to something good on chases and forget the chaining hits and killer instinct. I like this idea.

EDIT: I just think that the fatigue should be 3 instead of 4.

I’ll have to watch when time is free! I do think Legion is viable even though I suck with him/her.

  • @goat10em said:

Legion is pretty bad but in no way the worst killer. Have you played as clown? You honestly need to rely on getting a team of potatoes in order to have a good game as clown.

I used to main clown until low purple and red ranks. Man, oh man, does it get hard.

  • Why does everyone agree a survivor should have one FINAL attempt? You were outplayed.

If that’s the case, survivors shouldn’t be able to crawl out of the exit gates or hatch.

Everyone has such a one-sided perspective. Yeah, you played a great game but in the end you didn’t escape. Your team left you, now you’re alone with the killer, hooked and deserve to die. Your team has the option to destroy NoED and come rescue you.

  • Nope. I’m literally trying to de-rank in a legitimate fashion because of red ranks.

I was new to playing Freddy last night. Played on Autohaven, gen-rushed, body blocked, strong loopers. I finally got one guy at EGC thanks to NoED. Tried to camp around his hook, NoED gets destroyed, gates open, all 3 survivors alive come and body block me from protecting hook, even when I swiped the guy body blocking another did it, bam. All escaped. They proceed to sit in the gateway t bagging. Game ends, all rank 1-2 and I’m a rank 6.

Incoming messages: “ezzzzz” “trashhhhhh” “hook camper” “ur trasshhhhhhh get good”

Its far too easy to rank up in this game which makes most matches unfair. Red survivors can be skill-less and red killers can be mediocre. I ranked up as a killer through having fun and rarely sweating, now I play against the sweats lol

As a killer main I understand where you're coming from. I don't think it's fair when I chase a survivor and I hook them approximately 2 gens are already done, Hex: Ruin doesn't phase people that can hit skill checks and is often cleansed within 30-60 seconds of a match and you have no influence over what happens during the match. But the good thing about a killer main is that you

adapt faster than survivors. You want to slow the gens you use Hex: Ruin, Pop goes the Weasel & Surge. Want to "Apply Pressure" you use Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher and want to give the survivors a piece of their own medicine use NOED.

Yeah, I’m not going to say I main one or the other anymore as I play both evenly now. I take a break from my squad and let them go play while I play killer. But, we never understood those that finish a game so quickly, killer as well.

as a killer if I realize I’m way better than the survivors, I drag the game out with jump scares or chasing then vanishing leaving the survivor confused lol.

as a survivor, if we realize the killer isn’t that great we don’t go balls out and gen-rush, we try to maximize BP.

all my killers run ruin and pop, it’s my only viable counter to stalling gens.

That’s crazy to say Legion isn’t viable. I played a Rank 2 Legion, my team is 4,5,6,2, and we got destroyed with only the 2 escaping through hatch.

Legion, with the appropriate perks and add-ons, is without a doubt still viable.

If everyone is doing gens unchecked, then you aren't putting on enough pressure. That isn't necessarily your fault, as many killers inherently struggle on larger, safer maps. Blame bhvr for not recognizing the flaws in their map designs.

Yeah, I usually apply a ton of pressure on gens because I avoid loops. But it’s pretty difficult in red/purple ranks without ruin. Even then the gens get knocked out quick sometimes.

I think most experienced players know, the longer the game, the more BP so why finish the game and only get 13-15k Max BP? My team accidentally gen-rushed last night, and our top player who had 1 safe hook, had just under 14k BP. It wasn’t fun at all lol. So I can’t see the fun in intentional gen-rushing. That’s my opinion though!

This is more of a question for the devs

Why do you think? I’m not targeting anyone, I just really want to know where the fun is in such quickly finished games.

are they challenging themselves? Being trolls (especially the ones that best a killer and waste time t bagging at the exit)? Or is it challenges? I barely follow challenges or the tomes anymore.

Maybe they had a daily where they had to escape with a certain character?

My playstyle changes considerably depending on my dailies.

I’ve got the chase daily for 120 Second Chase with Laurie.

That would make sense for dailies.

As a survivor your main goal is to escape. That's why survivors gen rush, because it's the most effective way to,you know, survive.

That is not my question. Everyone knows what is meant by “gen-rush”. I’m not talking about a team that innocently completes all gens or 2-3 in a few minutes. We all do that without intention because it’s the objective.

I’m speaking of teams that join a game to literally complete the gens as soon as possible. Are you challenging yourselves to do that? Or is that just your playstyle?

Me and my team usually just go with the flow and make fun of the game. Some games we pop gens fast bc of no ruin and others we spend the game saving each other with 1 gen completed every 2 minutes lol.

i guess my question is directed towards teams that join most of their games with 4 toolboxes and are done with 3 matches before I complete 1.

    Killer Perk:

    Bad Construction.

"Whoever made these must not have intended them to be jumped on"

Dropped pallets have a 5/10/15% chance of breaking under the survivors weight.

This a good idea or a bad idea?

Nah, instead of that type of perk, just block the pallets like they do windows. 3 vaults and bam, blocked.

But there are perks to counter pallets already though.

    Yeah i know.

I didn't touched that subject because that is also 1 of the things that should be looked at.

And yeah i play both as rank 1 and know what it's like.

Rarely i face a chill swf group.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/948568#Comment_948568

That is one of the problems the should fix also.

Make sure 1 gate always spawns at the opposite side of the other gate so they are never close.

Cause that's what I hate when i play killer or survivor.

Hell, even the hatch spawning in front of the gates is something that should never happen.

Personally i couldn't care if i escape ir not.

If i played well and i oip then I'm happy, if i escape than that is nice.

And unfortunately i escape a lot and i only play solo.

But if you can't get to do all 5 gens than there shouldn't be an option to escape in the first place.

Survivors objective is to repair 5 gens and the killer needs to stop them.

So failing to repair and still escaping is imo undeserved as you did not do the objective.

It's basically saying if all 5 gens are done the killer can instantly kill the survivors as he failed his objectives.

So instantly killing all survivors is his hatch escape to compare it with survivor.

That's why i think all 3 things are just broken.

Killers can slug the 3rd and hunt the 4th. Killers can also close hatch, forcing the survivor to gates. The survivor can not reopen hatch without a key.

    Who says you're right?

If you have nothing to say except the useless string of words you posted then you're invalidating your opinion on your own; so either you're too incapable or lazy to discuss like civilised people or you're just generating rubbish, which is in a way trolling.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/115668/would-any-of-you-be-up-for-a-penalty-delay

Personally I think this system is way too complicated and I would rather they do something to either heavily punish survs doing gens alone or buff killers similarly to Fire Up making them faster with every gen that's completed for example, kind of the way Friday the 13th handled it.

I have Friday the 13th but have yet to play so I can’t compare! Yeah, it is complicated. It was just an idea I formulate through my own squad. To us it seems pretty neutral in fairness. It could even be a separate game mode, which I believe DBD needs to help grow it. All the rage and toxicity comes from repetitiveness. Bored players become toxic players or quit.

Trolling doesn't mean what you think it means. Having an opposing view is not trolling. Being right is not trolling.

You are literally not worth arguing with anymore. You’re remark on my post has zilch to do with the post. You’re a troll that’s why you follow my threads. Like I said, get a life.

That's why i vote for all 3 things (mori, key, hatch) to be removed.

I have had a game where the survivors 3 gen themselves and they knew they messed up.

But because the hatch was there they escaped.

2 escaped, i close the hatch, 3rd comes running at it and also escapes.

    2 persons had a key.

It's all broken and gives either easy escapes or easy kills without any decent effort put in it.

You cannot remove hatch. There are occasions when the gates spawn within feet of each other. It’s also a sole survivors last hope for escape. Moris and Keys counter each other because they are quick wins. Survivors still have to work for key escapes as do Killers for Mori wins
