You can post bugs to BHVR on their betahub site or whatever it is. It's the main place for bug reporting now.

I know that. As I said, it's already been reported to Betahub. I just came here to let a few more people know in case anyone was intending to use it in a build.

  • Imo, in the current condition of the game, every possible killer playstyle has been implemented already. I think for there to be a new killer playstyle implemented, more new/original features would need to be added to the game. The core concept of dead by daylight is pretty simple, and that unfortunately limits the kinds of possible playstyles/types of killer power. I'd love to see more variety and unique gameplay, but without more additions to the games general features, I just don't really see that happening.

You've overblown something that was a non-issue to the point where you seem to believe that dissolution is the worst thing ever and that a buff would blow dbd into deep peril. At this point you seem to believe that you've won an argument for no reason, not one of your points was valid as dissolution is already a perk which you get minimal value from in most cases. Remember it requires an injure, it isn't just free pallet breaks and in the majority of cases a survivor won't even drop a pallet until the injured and in the circumstance that they do what is stopping them from leaving the loop and going to an upwright pallet, not to mention a survivor gets a notification of dissolution being in play. It is a very counterable perk and so acting like a potential extra 10 seconds is game breaking and is easily abusable is strange. You also seem to think you're on a moral high ground because the other person used a valid argument and compared the strength of dissolution to that of what it's going up against? You then direct all of your attention completely to this, seemingly in belief that you are a saint and must protect everyone from this person bringing up points by insulting them. Seriously, it's not that deep, don't be mean for no reason, you are entitled to opinions but don't expect everyone to agree with you and most certainly don't insult them for their other ideas.

I don't think their comparison to the strength of survivor perks was a genuine argument, my point is that it felt more like they were trying to deflect once they felt like they were losing the original argument. You're entirely misinterpreted my thoughts on just about everything to do with this thread.

My points about Dissolution were referring to it in the state proposed by the OP, not the state it's currently in. I'm also very well aware of how it works. I don't think Dissolution is the worst thing ever, or that a buff would "blow DBD into deep peril," in fact I'd love to see a buff to Dissolution. It's a cool concept for a perk, but it sucks that it's so weak, but the buff proposed by the OP isn't at all balanced.

As I said before, there's a reason certain perks are the way they are. And even if I do want a buff to Dissolution, that would also have to come with another nerf to keep it balanced.

This addon is so bad. You barely feel the 3%. Either make it 4% or keep it 3% but make it 4 seconds.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/74MNTLPKGNB6/image.png

This is the worst designed IRI addon I have ever seen. Needs a total rework entirely. Into what, I am not sure.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B2W0I5AASMCW/image.png

This needs to do more. For what it is, its really neat in idea but the illusion isn't strong enough to convince anyone.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/GQPZRKAXNY5J/image.png

This addon needs to cause survivors to build condemn passively upon the first tape given to them with this addon. After that condemn functions as normal.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/GWMRCUAXD9JE/image.png

2 seconds needs to be buffed to at least 5 seconds. What am I supposed to do with 2 seconds? xD

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SIO5PHRRE73A/image.png

Keep it how it is but it also removes the lullaby noise entirely when affected.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/I2K08Z3VUZYC/image.png

Make this base kit and rework it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OD4SWSW1RC3R/image.png

This should be at least 10 seconds.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3EMHDPNPRP7C/image.png

    Rework entirely.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AJ37A2W9CG29/image.png

This should be at 8 or 10 meters. 6 doesn't do much.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KKX57Q06WD3J/image.png

    Rework entirely.

The Onryo is such a fun killer, it's honestly a shame she has like almost zero chase potential. I love playing her but I don't do it too often solely because she's so easy to counter.

Yeah most Survivors that play this game are very low skill level when it comes to gaming in general, so that's where that stems from.

I don't think it's that, honestly. I think it's just that when these game modes come back, players will return, and it'll also attract a lot of new players with people wanting to play these game modes with their friends. It kinda sucks, but at the end of the day it's nice that it maybe introduces a few new people to the game, even if I myself won't be playing along with them lol.

  • @TheSaltySaloon said:

One of the reasons people sweat so much playing killer is cause they know, if they can’t secure at least one single kill before the gates open they’re gonna get hit with that AWFUL noise followed by that insulting results screen.

It’s like a middle finger for even attempting to play killer. If killer (and dbd as a whole) is meant to be fun and people shouldn’t care so much then why does this rage bait screen exist. It’s not bad enough I gotta get flashlight and teabagged at the gates but the game has to step in and insult me as well?

It’s the same thing in fighting games. It’s literally proven players get more upset seeing a “You lose” screen rather than just a “Player X wins” screen.

Just tell me my score and move on. I know it’s a minuscule complaint in the grand scheme of things, but its removal would make killer losses 3X more palatable..

I can't relate to this at all, honestly. It seems like a fun little thing the devs added. The purpose of the game isn't exactly to kill the survivors, but to "feed" the entity. It sustains itself off of the emotions of the survivors and killers in its realm, so if you don't get any kills, of course the entity is going to remain hungry at the end of the match. I don't see any reason to get rid of it. It's just letting you know how the entity is feeling :/

  • I don't even like 2v8, honestly… Even with the play while you wait feature. Whenever I play survivor, no one is ever on generators. Like… Ever. And then when I do get into a killer game, my teammate usually does just terribly. I can't stand this game mode, honestly.

All due respect, I think you're also oversimplifying your own argument here and being more than slightly disrespectful in the process. 'Removing the survivors ability to vault a pallet without just dying' is not how that scenario works. They can be vaulting ledges, not just a pallet. Even if the pallet breaks they still get the vault distance and trigger any vault related perks such as lithe, which are very common.

Dissolution working on a per-strike cooldown would not be the game-breaking venture I think you make it out to be here. The primary purpose of pallets isn't the ability to vault them, it's the use of the pallet to create distance and land a stun. No survivor worth their salt looks at a pallet and thinks 'I can't wait to vault that.' They think 'How many times do I greed this loop before I pull pallet to stun the killer and cycle to the next tile.' It's a resource for space-making and seldom anything more.

Saying 'get over it' is considerably rude, and more than a little condescending. I don't necessarily agree with OP here, but your approach to the counter-argument is anything but charitable. Do you think this is the best means of getting your point across? Dismissing, demeaning, and talking down to someone sharing their opinion?

Unfortunately, there are times where people do have to just "get over it," and likely they won't if you don't tell them too. I tried discussing my points politely, and the moment he thought he was losing the argument, he deflected to a completely different topic. If he doesn't want to have a legitimate debate, then in my eyes, he can just get over it. It's clear the only reason he posted this discussion in the first place was to gain immediate approval, not to actually have any sort of legitimate discussion.

It isnt but people love to pretend its so hard to get up there.

Right? Like genuinely. If you have more than 10 hours on the game then you are pretty much 100% in the "high mmr" range. There was genuine skill based matchmaking for all of like a week in this game and then they just kept making it worse because of long queue times in high mmr. Even though they call it skill based match making, it's low ranges and balancing make it function more like eomm. You could have the greatest game of your life in one game and then get absolutely stomped on the next. The frustration mixed with the occasional great game keeps you playing to get more of those great games to make up for the ones you lost. It honestly sucks.

  • @Philscooper said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/464469/mmr-seems-to-be-non-existent-lately

The problem is, everyone is at high mmr.

But there is no difference between someone with 1600 mmr and someone with 2600 mmr, you both could get matched even though you are both in vastly different ranges thanks to the removal of the soft-cap.

It can't even be considered high mmr anymore. the second you win like 3 games as either role, you're already up there. There's only low mmr, and then average mmr.

  • I feel this, honestly. The most fun I have in this game is when I'm doing little challenges, whether self-imposed, or just working through quests/tome challenges. I am pretty competitive by nature, and I do get pretty angry over the game sometimes, but I've never taken that out on anyone before. After every match, I try to have a nice interaction the post game chat no matter how I may be feeling at the end.

Dissatisfaction/anger at a video game is never an excuse for toxic behaviour. Getting tunneled out or genrushed is not an excuse for toxic behaviour, and even then, there are counter measures to those things in the game. We can all do better. People just need to recognise that. People need to learn to just say "ggwp" and then take a breather before going to their next game. Or don't say anything at all, even. Because it's never that deep. It's just a video game.

I've received some honestly vile threats from players in this game for the simple crime of being better than them, and I honestly think it's really quite sad that people have such extreme reactions to something that - at the end of the day - is extremely unimportant.

  • Yes. You struggling against these perks is a skill issue. Besides, having the potentially to completely remove the survivor's ability to vault a pallet without just dying, and being able to recover from exhaustion and vault a little faster are not in the slightest comparable.

I also love how the second you can't deny you've lost this argument, you resort to deflecting to another topic. Vigil, Ghost Notes, and Finesse are only overpowered when utilised by players that have the skill to handle these perks to their fullest potential. The fact of the matter is, the average player isn't good enough to extract maximum value from these perks. So yes, they're fair. Get over it.

it would help to stop survivors from crowding the killer, it would be very helpful against bully squads that want to sabo hooks, flash light/bang saves, body blocking etc. it only last for 20 seconds and it only works when you injure survivors AND it takes 3 seconds for it to activate so a survivor can pre drop a pallet take the hit vault it immediately after and I get no value. It also only works when you have a terror radius so it dosnt work with stealth killers/perks. Survivors can also counter it by slow vaulting, and also the perk lithe helps counter disillusion as well.

It would be extremely effective against bully squads, sure, but if Dissolution was that powerful, it would be in every single game. As for your point about it not working against stealth killers, with that in mind, if Dissolution was so strong, more and more players would start just playing killers like Blight, Ghoul, or Wesker, as they would get incredible value from Dissolution with their massive terror radius. On top of that, you'd see a large increase on killers running Distressing, Monitor & Abuse, and Starstruck. Those perks with Distressing would be a guaranteed win pretty much every time. It just wouldn't be fair.

No matter how you justify it, the perk Dissolution in the state you're suggesting would be completely broken. You say it only lasts for 20 seconds, but if the duration resets every time a survivor is hit, it would often go on for over a minute. Again, it would be insanely broken, as it would completely remove survivor's main counter play against killer. You're suggestion isn't balanced one bit. There are reasons certain perks are the way they are. The reason for Dissolution being the way it is is that it simply would not be a good addition to the game if it was that powerful.

  • If Dissolution worked that way, then survivors just would never be able to vault a pallet. It would be a huge mis-balancing issue and would be reverted/nerfed almost immediately. Having it work like Rapid Brutality would be a huge mistake. The only reason it works for Rapid Brutality is because Rapid is pretty bad.

  • @EziekelAbh said:

Killers have no choice but to tunnel 1 survivor out of the game. It's no different from IDV. If you think of spreading hooks then you're just begging for a loss.

3 survivors alive will always be better than 4 survivors alive. The devs will never incentivize for 12 hooking. It doesn't matter how many anti tunnel or anti camp features or perks they are adding to the game it's simply not worth it to keep 4 survivors alive.

This game has been flawed from the start, devs just refuse to acknowledge the real problems and keep making it worse for everyone while slapping plasters on problems left right and centre. Angry about a specific bug? Oh, well here's a cool new perk and a Feng/Mikaela/Sable cosmetic to keep you playing (because they know you will).

KILLERS NEED COOLDOWNS, SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BAIT M3 & quickly use a m2 M1, THIS BUG MUST BE STOPPED, OR GIVE KILLERS BETTER STUN ABILITY, LORE ACCURATE,

Then by that logic to get a better community, they would also need to remove flashlight saves and sabotaging hooks. Short killer cooldowns and m2 faking aren't the only thing the player base hates. There are so many more things that people find frustrating in the game. Your post honestly just comes off as typical survivor main entitlement… How about you just - I don't know - get better at the game? Learn how to counter the killers you don't like, maybe?

I do apologise for responding so late! I eventually did manage to fix it! I had turned my FPS up whilst practicing some of Wesker's techs, so I changed that. But for some reason my changes would get reset every time I booted up DBD. Meaning also vsync would be turned on again!

I turned it off and changed my FPS to 90 after reinstalling the game and now it is working perfectly fine. Thanks for helping though ^^

Dw about the late response, just glad to see you were able to figure iit out.

  • Just a false detection by your antivirus software. Add Easy Anti Cheat to your antivirus' exclusion list (if it has one) or just ignore it entirely. I searched it up and situation has happened before to other players on other games and isn't too uncommon, so I'd say not to worry too much about it.

  • @Jay_K said:

Guys this is very hard for me to do but I must apologise. Its been brought to my attention that my behaviour in game has been just ruining peoples games and enough is enough I need to come clean.

To the survivor who run at me with their base kit BT body blocking me in a corner. I am so sorry you were tunnelled. you clearly didn't deserve that. Just because you were on death hook, injured and body blocked me in a corner i had no right to down and hook you again.

To the swf with 4 flashlights and head on build. I deeply apologise for slugging when i had visual on you all. After our post game chat I understand now that I should be instantly picking up and let you have a chance at a save each and every time.

And Finally. To the team I beat a few nights ago. I'm not 100% sure what I did wrong as I 12 hooked the game and never hooked someone who had been unhooked, I insta picked up, I wasn't running meta build however clearly the fact I'm playing The First is enough. So i am truly sorry for playing the new content in the game. I realise now that this content is not for killers to play this is only for survivors and I didn't understand that when I purchased it.

If anyone can help me out and forward me the official handbook killers must follow to ensure that everyone is having a fun and enjoyable game I would much appreciate and once again I am truly sorry for the obvious pain and suffering I have caused while playing this game.

**FYI this is a joke…I'm never sorry for the way I play this game 😎

LMAO I went against what was almost a full sabo squad last night (3 man swf and a random with flashlight and champion of light) and then the random with champion of light whined at the end as if slugging wasn't the only thing i could have done to win.

I'm just speaking to the wind. lots of people say vecna is super strong, and I'm just making an observation about it, because we are boosting a lot of indoor levels right now. almost to promote the new killer or something.

Ah, yeah. Your comment came off as really sarcastic because of the "go figure" at the end. Sorry for assuming.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

I actively use No Mither in a Treacherous Crows build, so I think I can speak with confidence that power struggle is worthless.

I'm getting tired of it, man. if you didn't know, killers can swing when they pick you up to just....delete the perk. you will drop the pallet, but the killer won't be stunned because they aren't under the pallet. how is this cheeseball Strat still around after these years?

it doesn't even feel good to pull off because you know your killer just got knowledge checked. I know I'm throwing my struggle bros under the bus here, but I'm a bit tilted from the last killer who nodded at me like he's clever.

it's not counterplay, it's just dbd being dbd. I don't care if power struggle is op or toxic it shouldn't work like this.

I as a killer main, whenever I see a survivor die under a pallet, I'm immediately assume they're gonna have either DS, or Flip Flop/Power struggle, so I try to vacuum pick them as far from the pallet as possible so I can safely swing out of it. Unfortunately the strategy is only ever really effective against newer killers. I guess you could run it without Flip Flop and then see if the maybe walks through a pallet while carrying, but other than that it's always been a pretty useless perk other than for that one gimmick build.

Yeah… That's exactly what I was saying. Why the sarcasm?

  • A good few of the comments under my post share some pretty good points, so I'd like to just give my opinion on what everyone is saying.

His vine attack needs a cool-down or a limit use

This isn't a terrible suggestion. A slight increase in the cool-down would balance him out a little, but I think it might turn him into another Unknown situation. If you quit using the actual name of his M2, it stops being a "Vine Attack" and becomes 50/50s. You can't run in a straight line against him. Bad pathing/movement and slow reaction times/bad prediction is going to result in you losing pretty quickly. If you don't do anything to effectively dodge his attack, then it's just going to hit you. Same goes for playing against Nemesis, or Deathslinger, or Huntress, or Pyramidhead.

    His M2 is too spammy

That is exactly why he is so easy to dodge. If the Vecna you're playing against is just spamming his attack, it'll be safe to assume he's trying to get it right under you, or right in front of you. If you know he fires it immediately after readying it, then you can just move out of the way when you see it on the floor. A good Vecna would already know to be patient with their attack and anticipate the survivor's movement, because spamming it has already been proven to be ineffective.

He also has map traversal that can damage survivors

Except it takes forever for that power to actual attack, so as long you're already moving, you can get out of his radius before it hits you. His Undergate Attack will miss 9/10 times.

A power that hits through walls/pallets/windows/floors

There are many examples of this. Vecna isn't the only one. If you're failing in these areas it's because you're not good enough on those tiles against that killer, not because Vecna is overpowered. Pyramid head can hit through most of those things. If you see him with his power ready while you're approaching a window/pallet, you switch tactics, because you know he's likely going to fire at the window. Same for Vecna. Get right up to the window, then change your pathing. As for hitting through floors, whilst it's possible for him, he can only 1. Hit upwards, and 2. Is very likely to miss unless for one reason or another, he can see you're aura.

The only criticism I've seen that I really even somewhat agree with is he should have two stances, similarly to Myers. I do think this is a good suggestion. He could have a stance for Basic Attacks where he's moving at 115%, and having a stance for his Vine Attacks, where he's moving at one 110%, with a 5 - 10 second cool down on swapping between stances.

Still don't think he's overpowered though. Just strong enough.

    What do you think?

He's strong, but not OP. I'd place him around the same tier as the likes of Executioner or Nemesis. Just 50/50s, really. His power is incredibly strong if he's patient with firing it, but the same goes for Nemy and Pyramidhead. The undetectable I don't think is too much of an issue too as on most maps he will pretty much never hit it.

The system itself is a good idea but the fact that you can't do/use it until a couple short seconds away from death in a game that was an awful experience due to the killer being extremely toxic in their game play (camping, slug baiting, lobby slugging, etc) is out right laughable. We can't control who we queue against, obviously, but I've had the misfortune a number of times (3 times recently within the last 3 or 4 days) where I match with the same killer that made a previous game awful for such reasons, and what does the system do to me for leaving early before that joke of an abandon button shows up? Match suspends me. Why should we have to knowingly suffer through a killer that is going to make the experience of that match less fun than getting teeth pulled? It's mind boggling that as survivors we get punished for not wanting to spend an entire game in a lobby with a person playing killer that is being an outright ass hat. This is what is killing the game on both sides. No respect for other players. Nothing going on upstairs except for 'win. only win. any cost'. Seems like more often than not behavior has 0 clue what we really want or are willing to put the effort into doing it right the first time.

The thing about the abandon button is that it's supposed to keep you in the game until it becomes literally unplayable or draws out too long. Allowing players to dc all the time without penalty would greatly harm the game as survivors would just freely leave the second things stop going their way, sabotaging the match for their teammates while giving the killer a bum experience.

The button isn't there to let you leave when it becomes unwinnable, but when there is literally no way left to win, e.g. being four-man slugged. Your mindset on what this button should be is part of the problem. The thing about the game is that you could literally go against any killer. The abandon button isn't the problem, it's your mindset. The abandon button is fine as it is. It does its job.

due to the killer being extremely toxic in their game play (camping, slug baiting, lobby slugging, etc)

Camping. Were you all hovering for the unhook?
Slug baiting. Were you hovering for the flash/pallet save?
Lobby slugging. Were you all injured and/or hovering for a flash/pallet save?

As someone who plays both roles, those strategies aren't always toxic, but sometimes necessary due to certain survivor behaviours that may necessitate those things. It sounds to me more that you need to switch up your strategy rather than complain about 'toxic killers.' This post honestly comes off as very entitled to me.

To clarify here, I do not want a 5 second cooldown for The First. That would slow him down for way too much, especially considering he slows down to 1.79 M/S during that cooldown. I am talking about a recharge time increase. So Vecna gets to move at 110% again after 3 seconds, but only gets to use his power again after 5 seconds.

I know you meant the Vine Attack. Slowing Vecna himself down for 5 seconds would be too much. That moment where you're slowed after using your power is called "fatigue," not cooldown. I do however still think that 5 seconds is too long for the Vine Attack's cooldown. 4 second imo would have to be the absolute max.

What's even crazier is that not only do these people have names advertising their cheating discords, but you'd think there would be some auto-flag system for Survs that escape 1 millisecond into the match when no gens, let alone 5, have popped. The same way when those cheating Killers hook everyone so fast that everyone else gets a DC penalty, but oh well, I guess BHVR is focused on their next lame IP to generate sales for whatever flop they decide to develop next.

BHVR is just too cheap for the enterprise tier of EAC. They're honestly probs still using the free version. Another thing to note is that due to when DBD was free on Epic Games and the Xbox store a while ago, hackers made like hundreds of accounts to swap too if they got banned, so even if they did get a better anti-cheat, the hacking problem most likely wouldn't get much better or worse :/

I don't think that increasing the cooldown is a good idea. Increasing a killer's cooldown and making him being more punished for missing, they will start to use their power only in safe situations instead of doing random tries like Pyramid Head and Deathslinger players do, which is very boring.

Exactly. The thing with these kinds of killers is that they're purposefully made to be high risk/high reward. For example, as you mentioned The Deathslinger, getting a hit on a survivor with your gun pretty much guarantees an injury/dying state, but if you miss, not only have you been moving slower while aiming, but you then also have to reload before trying again, giving the survivor so much distance on you, which as a 4.4 killer, means he'll have to spend a lot of time then catching up again before being able to risk another shot.

While I do think the 3s cooldown for Vecna's Vine Attacks is a little too short, I think that 5 seconds is way too excessive. Maybe like 3.25s - 3.5s MAX. I don't mind the other suggestion they made as that extra .25s isn't so much time that it opens any opportunities the survivors wouldn't already have.

I recommend everyone puts their honest opinions on how awfully balanced the top tiers are.

Or better yet you can say which low tier killers are awfully balanced too <3

Let's let them know how dumb Blight/Nurse or whoever else are, coz I'm personally sick of them.

If you disagree that's fine, you can also say how much you like them too I believe.

As a killer main, I used the survey as a chance to express my frustrations with certain killers. Blight and Nurse are OP and borderline uncounterable on most maps, but I wanted to address issues with killers like The Twins, as I do really enjoy the character, but they're unfortunately so buggy that they're borderline unplayable. They'd be so much more fun if Victor didn't occasionally just bounce off of survivors for literally no apparent reason.

Though I do absolutely agree that Blight and Nurse need at least some minor nerfs (e.g. make it so that after using any amount of rushes as Blight, it takes as long as regenerating 5 tokens to go back up to max, similarly to how Ghoul regenerates his leaps. I also don't think it would be too crazy to reduce the amount of rushes available from 5 to 4).

  • Must have gotten my info from an outdated source.

Comp players stomp on pub players now. At least if they had a game mode made for more competent players there'd be less people doing that

Literally this. It would just make the game a lot more fair overall if we gave a separate space for all the cracked players to duke it out with each other instead of just completely rinsing all the casual players.

  • There is an option in game to turn directional audio off:

    image.png

Other than that, you could always just turn your game sounds down a little bit.

  • Firstly, AI generated image… Yikes. Secondly, as much as I think Predator would be a great addition to the game, four perks? For BHVR to do that without having him be a completely unreasonable release, they'd have to 1. make the perks very synergistic, and 2. make them all pretty mediocre. Not great, right? Thirdly, I'm pretty sure when you asked the AI prompt to make the killer, it just assumed 4 perks and you didn't bother to correct it so you just rolled with it instead. Either way, not a great look. If you were that invested, you could have just written down your concept for him instead of having a crappy robot do it for you.

  • Ranked mode is absolutely possible. If I'm correct, when the old Dead by Daylight mobile game was still available, there was a ranked mode for that. As for queue times, I think it would solve the issue. The main thing is there are so many more survivor players than killer players. Because of that, killers are often left with the longer queue times. Having two separate queues would mean a huge difference of percentages between the amount of players from each role queuing in each game mode. The ranked modes queues will still be a lot longer, sure, but in casual, because there's so many more openings now for killers, they should be able to get in faster.

Though, don't take my word for it. My logic may not be the greatest.

What else is the takeaway from someone trying to so drastically undersell a 60-80% winrate? What planet do you have to come from to be sitting on such a winrate and still claim the game is survivor-sided?

60% isn't 'pretty decent' in any normal PvP game, it's very, very high. 80% is astronomical and would get you investigated for cheating in any seriously competitive PvP game. The fact that you seem to think that this is too low just indicates that you believe killers should just win by default.

What are you on about? I never said this was too low. I explicitly stated that I think 60% is a decent win rate and that I'm happy with it. I'm not underselling it as I've said TWICE that I'm happy with my win rate. On top of this, DBD is NOT a normal PVP game. It's asymmetrical. COD is a normal PVP game. Marvel Rivals is a normal PVP game. Dead by Daylight isn't it.

Win rate doesn't equate to one side or the other being the one with the advantageous side. It's the side with the more powerful play styles. That is, without a shadow of a doubt, the survivor side. Like it or not, The play styles available to survivors are far stronger than what's available to most killers.

I don't think killers should win by default, but I also don't think the disparity between both sides should be so drastic. A four slowdown build on a killer is unfortunately just not strong enough to compete against the current survivor meta in most scenarios.

  • Yeah, this is unfortunately not the greatest take. Skull merchant just recently received a buff, that is to be her permanent change if received well. This buff gives survivors 10% hindered if they have a claw trap on and are hit with the scan lines. She's already received improvements to her chase potential, and even if she's still pretty rare, she's in a decent place right now. As for stealth drones, I don't think that's a good idea either. She already gets undetectable for 10 secs after placing a drone. Right now, she's honestly a pretty good killer, just quite rare.

As an Artist main, who is a low A-tier killer (if we're going off of Otzdarva's killer tier list), I can tell you I win maybe 60 - 80% of my matches. That sounds pretty decent, until you realise that I'm ending these matches on 1 or 2 gens left, and have to play incredibly precisely to get that win, which at this point in the state of the game, I consider a win a 3k no matter what.

60%+ winrate is apparently no longer good enough, now the wins need to come, not just with a moderate margin of one gen or a wide margin of two gens, but a colossal gulf of three or more gens.

If you could maintain a, say, 70% winrate with 3+ gens left, why should survivors ever bother playing this game with you? They'd basically not just lose on queue, they'd get stomped.

Bro… It's a game. We all have different criteria for what we would consider a win. As I said, I consider a 3K a win. And I'm happy with my win rate. I may not be winning every match, and that's fine. As for the margin of gens remaining before I reach that win, I don't really think that matters. I got my win. I'm happy. How many gens left at the end of the game doesn't concern me. I can only see a killer main maintaining a 70%+ winrate with a margin of 3 gens left every game on S-tier or high A-tier killers. Your comment is quite frankly a little absurd to me. Survivors already have this mindset anyways. How quickly they DC against any killer they don't like has become concerning, whether that be Ghoul, Knight, Nurse, Blight, or Bubba.

The game is literally designed to be killer sided. It's an asymmetric pvp game.

True a top tier 4 man super sweat swf is an absolute nightmare to play against. But that's a tiny fraction of the player base.

I think a lot of people on the forums forget that. And a lot of killers end up with that opinion becuase they have been getting 3 and 4k games for so long that they skyrocket their mmr and end up against super good survs all the time. Maybe if killers took it down a gear, and wouldn't resort to tunnelling playeds out then their mmr would be more reasonable

You need to remember that just because a game is designed with a specific intention, the developers won't always execute it properly. Dead by Daylight is one of those cases. It was designed to be killer-sided, sure, and maybe it was at the very start, but survivor has, for a very long time, been the stronger role; the only reason that's not realised by a lot of people is that survivor is a lot more complex and difficult to learn than killer (or at least most killers) due to its requirement for proper teamwork.

As for what you said about MMR, it is basically non-existent. A few pretty big creators themselves have stated that MMR does pretty much nothing for the game. If I'm correct, the soft cap on MMR is at around 1600 and a hard cap of 2100. With this knowledge, it's safe to assume that the average MMR of the frequent player would be around 1600. When you reach above 1500 MMR, the game will match you with anyone between the range of your MMR and 1500, which is a pretty wide range of MMR once you reach above roughly 1800. This means that even if you are at well above 1600 MMR, that is roughly the MMR the game will aim to place you in. So skyrocketed MMR doesn't really matter, because even at higher MMR, you're still being placed with such a wide range of players in terms of skill.

Your point about skyrocketed MMR only matters if the killer player never actually took the time to learn the killer they're playing, and instead began going straight for wins no matter what. The same goes for the survivor. MMR only matters if that survivor was hard carried to the higher MMRs and never really learned the role properly.

Besides, even without all this talk about the game's god-awful MMR system, it has been proven on multiple occasions to be pretty survivor-sided, whether you care to admit that or not. Maybe it wasn't made this way by design, but right now it just is. And even then, it's hard to really say if it's one side or another side because builds make the game so circumstantial that a single perk can turn the whole tide of the game.

At the end of the day, though, it is really just opinion. Everyone's going to think differently, and that's perfectly fine. But it is quite fun to debate this kind of thing. I think the only reason people care so much is that it gives them something to talk about with others. Though a lot of people tend to get really confrontational about it…

  • I can't really tell you what the issue is. I'd suggest changing your graphical settings and running it with minimal background processes. If the issue persists, you can report the issue here and hope something is done about: https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318 .

Before resorting to this, though, I'd suggest verifying the file integrity of the game if you're on Steam.

  • This is such a survivor thing to say, and I doubt many people will agree with it, honestly. Survivors always have, and pretty much always will have the advantage, especially going against weaker killers. Even in solo queue, as long as you're not going against like a knight, ghoul, blight, or nurse, you're pretty set for a pretty easy win.

The reason for this? Survivors need that advantage. Without it, they lost 90% of games. The game becomes incredibly unfair once you take away any advantages the survivors have.

I play both sides as well, and I can confidently say it only seems that way because the MMR system is absolutely broken and does not work properly, as there is a soft cap on it that eventually makes it impossible for it to actually match you with other players of your skill. You would not be saying this if you were paired often with survivors of your skill level, as I can guarantee your games would not be going by so quickly.

Now, I don't know about you. I don't know what killers you play, what region you're in, how new you are, or what kind of survivors you go against, but it sounds like the survivors you're playing against are just not that good at the game, or may be pretty new.

This game has always been and pretty much always will be pretty survivor-sided. The only way it stops being survivor-sided is if BHVR makes killers absolutely almost impossible to win against, which, of course, would kill the game.

If its not just a cheating soft-ware. Its fine.

Its why filters as survicor or using advanced audio/headphone while playing spirit is fine.

Ye, that's why I added that little bit at the bottom. I'd still avoid using macros just in case, but they should still be safe as long as it's just the Steel Series software's macro and not injected software. I have also heard that a lot of macros just don't work for the game anyway, so even if they do use the Steel Series macro, it likely won't do anything for them.

And then they said that if the buffs were well received and stopped her from being in a poor state that they would not be pursuing the rework to focus on other issues in the game. The buffs helped as they hoped so for now I cannot see them reworking her

Ahhh, I didn't see that. That makes a lot of sense. I do think the buffs were pretty well received, honestly. They were demonstrated by both Otz and Hens I think. I can't remember if I saw anyone else demonstrate them, though. I think the buffs are pretty good though. The added hindrance on survivors makes her chase potential a lot better, which I think is the main issue a lot of people had with it.

  • The auto-aim situation is ridiculous. It should only be a feature for console, and even then, it should be customisable.

    @Leon_van_Straken said:

Is it strange that the first thing that came into my mind while I read "Fix Autoaim" was a Post about Ghoul?

    But back to topic.

Yeah these auto aim hits can be horrible, its likely the same with the bs hits through pallets and I am not sure how BHVR can fix this without breaking the code

As for this, this is one of two things. Either ping or short swings. A killer's ping may misplace a survivor's hitbox compared to where they actually are, allowing hits that likely shouldn't be possible. The other thing is that at the very end of a swing, the attack's hitbox is slightly bigger, so if you short swing through a pallet and a survivor drops it on you, they'll enter the hitbox of your attack for a moment, giving you the hit.

  • @Kupega said:

I think the buffs recently put her in a better spot so I don't think they should waste the resources on a rework, maybe another small buff would put her in the best spot she's been in but they kind of have to be careful with how much they give her before she becomes the hated killer again

They expressed plans for a rework a while ago, but they have yet to actually act on them. The recent buff is the most we've seen in terms of it, but it's not what they showed us: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/497-design-preview-the-skull-merchant .
