I used to use hope when I just started dbd and it was great for a beginner like me. Killers on me after the last gen were probably confused.
Nobody uses No One Left Behind imo because the only time it really needs to be used is when you have a team full of D/Cers and the killer knows to patrol all the gens left if there is still 4 or 5 gens that need to be done. I would use this perk if there was a perk to cancel out or lessen survivor breathing noises. Otherwise I think it's pointless without being injured and having iron will or having a green-purple toolbox.
Boil Over is probably only useful against rank 20 killers, and that's fine by me, I dont care for it anyway.

Play a little longer and you will stop "respecting the 4%".
Survivor don't respect killer. So no need to respect them being lucky. It's not skill. Just whack 'em down. Unhooking themselves in your face is disrespectful by them, so strike them down.
I don't care about assuming if a survivor means to be disrespectful, altruistic by pretending to be toxic to bait my attention, or seriously being toxic. I enjoy a game that can make me laugh even if I'm losing. I'm not high rank enough to go against survivors who are just constantly being toxic but I'll probably just only let them live if they're the last person in the match after unhooking when I reach higher ranks and drop the idea of letting them run if they're not.
-
I thought raising your hands while on the hook is like saying Come Here and staying still is like saying The Killer is Nearby. I also thought people just spin while floored to be goofballs.
But yeah for me personally I don't see myself changing how i do my hook gesture. It also helps when the killer is salty and wants to stand by me attacking over and over again or camping, I am not sure but I assume they're more likely to piss off at least a small distance if I just stay still than if I try to tell people to unhook me with my arm raising.

Or, alternatively, they may be trying to gauge the reactions in the current state of the community about a feature that often goes unexplored, under the guise of controversy, while also informing and offering a refreshing view on gameplay styles in ways which reach the average player who may not have come to discover them on their own. Likely nobody has ever been banned for the category in question.
Nothing here goes unexplored, every topic is thrown about often these forums are basically inhabited by parrots. But at least someone can indulge this long post without losing their mind and feeling like they wasted precious time.
-
You have a lot to learn if you think that being unhooked gaurantees the killer will be back on you.
-
Spirit relies HEAVILY on hearing. Don't leave scratchmarks around the place, and don't think staying in a group will protect you from her. When I play as spirit people tend to huddle together as a group to feel safer and then they die together...or ragequit together.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Luck Offerings and Ace's luck perk increases the chances of unhooking, though insignificantly.
Personally, RNG seems to like me because I havent played this game very very much but in my experience I have gotten off the hook too many times without deliverance to be normal. It's hilarious. When I play killer, if a survivor hits that 4% in front of my face I just nod at them and let them live a while longer. If they just so happen to be the last person in the game when they unhook themselves I will straight up let them escape. I respect that 4% bail out. lmao
-
Lmao I have the same issue, it seems like I'm always on autohaven. I don't exactly hate it tbh it's a fun map. Good for stealth as a survivor and imo gen patrolling as a killer isnt so bad there either. But I'll take a million autohavens before I take the asylum.
-
I don't judge players by cosmetics because I've always seen legacy/prestige players from the time i started this game on ps4 and started on pc at rank 20. I like to assume most survivors with prestige are boosted until their skills show otherwise and most killers with prestige need to flex while they use the most toxic build they can find or think of because they can't play until their butthole is clogged tight in perks and add ons.

You just sound like one of those people who takes a game way too serious and makes it unfun for other people that way. If we'd all look at how illogical certain things are in this game then I'm quite sure it's not even an actual horror survival game anymore.
This is not real life, it's a game. If you die you just go to the campfire, so helping out other teammates won't harm you in any way.
Seriously. This dude is here talking about how changing a report option can remove confusion and benefit a game while providing a whole backstory with examples and everything while making an issue out of something the devs don't even consider an issue even if salty pucks in the community consider them issues because they can't handle a dynamic gameplay.

Well I feel like as a Solo survivor, I need adrenaline because sometimes I can't depend on my team, sometimes I'm teaming with a SWF that they care about getting each other out and will use me as bait if that's what it takes to get each other out no matter how good of a teammate I've been or tried to be. I don't see this perk getting nerfed ever though so I'm not worried.
-
Technician is one of my favorite perks, helps with unnerving presence combined with terror radius boosted perks and madness if a doctor. Or just if you suck at hitting skill checks consistently like I do sometimes.
I want to try using Detectives Hunch since I used to main DejaVu in my loadout, great if you finish a gen and Hex:Ruin or Huntress Lullaby or whatever is still up, or if you haven't seen the killer and you see traps placed with hunch then you know its a hag or trapper.
Resilience I tried many times but didn't like because I don't like being limited to when I'm injured, so I prefer Prove Thyself to spread with others. I dunno if you can stack Resilience with Prove Thyself on yourself.
I also used Lithe because I gen rushed but so far I don't know of any crappy exhaustion perks. Ive seen tons of gen rushers who prefer Sprint Burst, imo sprint burst is best used by survivors who can handle chases enough to recharge it while in a chase. I have creative ideas for the Head On one. Especially since I like baiting the killer to places and unlike sprint burst you can actually run and not save it.
Happy Gen Rushing.

Funniest Megs are wannabe stealth claudettes. They are trying to blend in with rainbow colors. They are always doing weird things.I'm sick and tired of Meg Heads crouching when they come to save people, against EVERY Killer, not just Hags.LOL I thought I was the only one noticing these kind of Meg players. Why the heck do they think they're claudettes UE'ing everywhere? The only megs I trust are tehe ones who wear the jerseys with the sweatpants. The ones in coats think they're claudettes and the ones in skirts are always in a crappy swf and think they're toxic.
Not literally every meg ofc, but the coincidences of seeing this so much is just so freaking much for my brain.

I was already expecting the next survivor to be Latina because that's one of the most common western ethnicities that isn't seen, and a woman in a suit because all the other girls are young and trendy. But to see that thiccness was just.

Okay so dark devotion is swf chat, ######### your pants is urban evasion, and genrush begone has no counter atm
Haha, yeah for genrush begone I'd say Dejavu tracking or move around with Calm Spirit because a attentive killer will be on high alert also object/spine. I won't be surprised if the new map has a lot of crows too iirc when they fixed Spies From The Shadows they added some more crows to some maps.
I think it also helps to have spine/object against the Plague herself because the killer can infect loops before you even get to it so you want to see where she's clowning around spreading her disease and time how long that will last.
Tbh I'm worried about the reach of her puke, she can't be looped like regular killers the way I'm thinking about it but, like Nurse and Legion who isn't built to the impossible, there should be a special way.
-
I've been grabbed from the hatch many times for recklessly jumping in.
I've baited swings then took the hatch.
I've hid in a locker and ran for the hatch if the killer walked past me or checked the wrong locker.
I've fought with other survivors for a hatch more than I've fought for the killer for a hatch because this game is full of selfish, grieving survivors with no confidence in themselves therefore no trust for others. Who will camp the hatch when they think you're gonna die, and run around you making audio cues to get you found or go look for the killer and run them over to you because they're mad you didn't die when they thought you would and they don't want to attempt even 1 gen left together.
I've had survivors bait and fool me as a killer. Hatch standoffs are no biggy imo unless they last more than like 3 minutes. At that point I'll let the killer kill me or I'll let the survivor go because I'm not a SORE LOSER. And if a hatch standoff lasts for that long then you can report them for holding the game hostage....though you'd be doing the same thing for playing into it.

The Legion shares my taste in music. I'm sure I can nail this.
Julie's Mixtape: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRNfeMaUBbo // https://youtu.be/3R4qUFrgkYU
Julie either likes black metal kinda stuff and or gothic rock
Susie's Mixtape: https://youtu.be/0ofikD9xEJg
Susies sounds to me more like Old Skool Dubstep, Happy Hardcore, Breakbeat, Drum N Bass and I'm sure. She has too many *different* possibilities from the description but I am sure something like this would be in her mixtape.
Joey's Mixtape: https://youtu.be/hbe3CQamF8k
Joey likes Trip hoppy stuff
Frank's Mixtape: https://youtu.be/0LIEcYS363M // https://youtu.be/VX56xOe86UM
Frank listens to some hardcore industrial music
Erk, sorry for not posting the links right. But it's good for scrolling I guess.

The New DLC killer probably, he will see the entity and think it is the real god he should be following and just want to bring everyone to paradise with him!
Real talk I think Wraith is the only 100% Non-Mental good one. Nurse, Huntress, Spirit, Leatherface, Hag, Trapper, Amanda, The Legion all snapped and the others are just mental by nature. Myers is cursed.
Sometimes I wonder if the spirit's face expressions are between Grief/Empathy for her actions and total possession or a reminder of her need for revenge or if she just does those sad faces when she's in pain from moving. If she even feels pain anymore.

The only change we need is to have the number of unbroken totems on the map displayed to all players, including Killer.Other than that, it's fine.
the problem with NOED is exactly the same one as with DS: it punishes players for playing good
you can end a chase in a matter of seconds and still the survivor will stab you prolonging the chase more than it should be
exactly the same thing with NOED, you could have played fairly well but the killer will down you, all without the need of skill
Cleansing the totems is no viable counterplay as slugging was not as well
Hmmm, I see what you mean but why do you take Noed as 'punishing'? I don't understand the thought process. To me it's just; this is a video game, here's a nice little twist that can happen that can add a dramatic experience. I feel like without perks like DS and Noed the game lacks that survival drama that makes it so loved and hated. The intense emotions that can come from these things to me are part of the game and if we just nerfed and buffed every freaking thing because people are tired of playing against smarter killers/survivors had a game or few where they didn't know how to or lost a chance to counter a perk. Then the game is just going to be bland and die. DS though I can agree, if you have like 3-4 DS people in one game...that's a real punishment. That's why I main spirit for killer :D

There has been a bug going around where the ''grab'' doesn't register and instead gives you a basic attack but it's mostly been for Gens and windows.
I've never heard of that bug, but its like with unhooking probably where you can tap the button to begin doing it then let go right away and the killer will hit instead of grabbing. Great for dealing with campers.

Pallet looping is definitely an exploit, as it shares several features with other exploits.
The survivors' collision is smaller than the killers', so survivors can turn around corners faster and make sharper turns. This causes the killers' faster movement speed to become less relevant, and it only gets worse when you take into account that survivors (the most experienced ones at least) literally hug walls and debris in general, and the killer, because of their 1st person POV, can't do the same.
Survivors are not passively just using pallet looping because it is there, they caused it to exist in the first place* and they have not practised any playstyle that doesn't crutch with pallet loops in two years.
*at one point, in the early days of Dead by daylight, survivors started to use pallets to farm and grief the killer rather than escape chases. Killers complained, got told to "just adapt", and we did. We started playing the hokey-cokey at pallets, when survivors were about to drop them. Long story short, the survivor dropped the pallet, missed the stun, and the chase continued. The situation worsened when a bug that caused stuns to award max boldness points was introduced. Some survivors would even disconnect after missing a stun, they were so desperate for the points, lol. Anyway, at that point killers started lunging mid cokey to get hits in and cut the BS short. Survivors went ballistic and drowned the forums in over nine thousand threads about "unfair" hits through pallet drops. So, patch 1.1.1 dropped and brought several buffs to pallets with it, the most noticeable one being the so-called "pallet vacuum". But there were also a set of unlisted changes that included changes to both the range and time-window for a pallet stun, and also a reduction in the survivors' collision box.
It's not an exploit if smaller characters have smaller collision. Killers have bloodlust, faster base speed or in the nurses case, going through walls, long lunges, the ability to hear footsteps, the ability to see scratchmarks, the ability to hear breathing. All of which can counter this. Simply put, OP can do as Yamamoka said and Git Gud.

@Yamaoka said:
Bodyblocking the killer to protect other survivors gets rewarded with bloodpoints and gen tapping is the slowest way to get a gen done. If you can't even deal with that kind of survivors you should probably not play killer.
And pallet looping? Really? What are survivors supposed to do? Drop all pallets immediately so you can have your easy 4k?

I do not care if a killer camps, tunnels, slugs, attacks multiple people healing or cleansing in one spot, place a bunch of traps in one area that survivors want to get to, hit survivors stuck on something. I do not care if survivors teabag, click flashlights, flashlight save all the time, successfully bait the killer into swinging instead of grabbing, swf, use infinite loops, throw off a bunch of ques to distract the killer, urban evasion and hide everywhere (its legit play although irritating as a teammate of that person), etc
All of those are legit strategies and the killer is there to kill, survivors are there to survive.
I care about people sadistically holding the game hostage. Let us get through the game, win some and lose some, and move on. I do not want to be stuck in a game because some showoff(s) wanna have an lol party for longer than the game needs to last. If you're using a lot of time to get extra points like breaking palettes, cleansing dulls, healing. It's ok. But don't try to exhibit toxic behavior just to make yourself feel good then get mad if someone DCs and you lose points.
-
Idk, I'm on console I can't find out who the killer is till the post lobby (and I didnt remember names before the recent matchmaking system). This new matchmaking system is great though because, I already have an issue with being the tunneled, camped survivor who usually gets found first, and then now I get to deal with the same killers round after round who have grudges going from Clown to Pig to Billy to kill 1 freaking person who isnt a swf, isn't teabagging them with clicking flashlights, and is just playing to survive. Personally I think that so long as the person who makes you want to ragequit isn't a cheater, there is no point in DCing, even if they have taunting behavior.
But I really would DC on certain sore loser players who can't just move on from a bad game and have to keep sweating more and more each time they see me, trying to show off how many ways they can kill you over 1 or a couple games they lost because they wanted to intelligently chase only 1 survivor the whole round.
-
It's so freaking annoying!!! The Killer is here to KILL you!!! I wish there was a real Punishment if the player dc's on a number on dc's!
I do not agree with punishment for DCing/Lobby Dodging for multiple reasons, but for this specifically, have you considered that;
Some people DC if they notice the killer's ping is crap right as the game starts, or if the game is super laggy because the killer is probably doing something on other tabs or using their crap connection on purpose to make the game laggy and get faster kills (and some people don't want to deal with that because it's not fair).
I hope that you went to the killers section and complained about the killers who DC when they people they tunneled and camped all day are about to escape, or when some team keeps flashlight saving each other.

This has nothing to do with a free escape, it has something to do with balance. But it looks like you don't know what this word means, look it up and educate yourself.
A killer shouldn't be able to carry a survivor across half of the map to the basement. Right now wiggling is completely useless.
The killer is stronger than you. The entity needs people killed. Nobody who is a high rank at this game cares about the "Survivor playerbase saltiness" because people with experience in this game (That means players who can play both survivors and killers at equal high skill) know that survivors are the advantaged. You shouldn't be using the word balanced without having experienced this for yourself, so get to educating yourself.
-
Don't run straight, Run like you're going to turn another direction or towards something so they're forced to focus their aim, and if they screw up you can 180 or 360 them. With more experience you will be able to pick up advanced ideas naturally, or you can keep asking questions and watching vids and seeing how your teammates who last longer in chases play. It is possible to keep running straight and juke him but you have to just time it right, that takes some practice and may not work if he has certain add ons

Welp, the next patch will be out next week lmfao
I hope op didnt think sharing this was gonna be a plus for survivors, beause now you are gonna force the devs to help the killers out some more. Best farm bp and piss off killers as much as possible before this changes. Which it will before they optimize the game properly.

Okay, I think Jake is next best at hiding next to Claudette and I've seen tons of videos and played tons of games where Feng Mins in her blue cardigan and the pants with it can get lost easily while slugged. And if you like being found, wear those bright red shirts.
-
Gentap so he doesn't have to do skill checks.
If he has purple or green toolboxes with at least yellow add ons then gen tapping through a hex ruin will still be super fast and he can then be a gen rusher.
Some people will complain about him gen tapping, but it doesn't matter because they don't know the situation.

BT needs two nerfs:- Doesn't activate once the gates are powered. This will make it so the perk can't guarantee hook rescues when there's nothing the killer can do about it.
- Can only activate after a survivor has been hooked for 15 seconds. This will make it so it doesn't activate on hook rushes.
No. The perk is great for countering campers, Tunnelers, and farming killers. That makes no sense to want "Can't guarantee hook rescues when there's nothing the killer can do about it" or "Doesn't activate on hook rushes". You basically want it so killer mains don't have to win some and lose some with as much chance as every other killer their rank, you just want them to be boosted.
Hows about OP and some other killers stop freaking hooking people near the exit gate and learn to drop bodies when someone is about to do a blind save if for some reason they think they can't look away, and learn to optimize their movements so at least if they do lose, they won't come on here complaining for nerfing everything survivors consider essential in their loadout.

The cheapest route, since you live in a shoebox. Is to buy black table cloths from a discount store, cheap pack of nails, and nail them to the wall above your window if you don't have a curtain rod. When or if you can afford it, get black Sun Absorbing curtains and nail it to the wall if you don't have a curtain rod.
From a discount store you can also get the stuff to nail a curtain rod holder to the walls, and the rod itself. And your cats are miserable af

I believe it is anything that has to do with The Hermit, but I understand why people say a Shaman or Alchemist of some sort. "In times of darkness we need Light to Follow". The Hermit, although it looks like a grim reaper in versions where it's not described to look like an old man, young woman, or a spirit, was a guide who used it's light to guide lost travelers up [mountains and through forests] (also varies) to safety. In some versions I heard that if the traveler does get lost behind and die then The Hermit will guide them to the afterlife. The Hermit's story is one that can be made super flexible for a new killer but the quote with the post, plus the seal holding back darkness and a foggy entity of some kind that seems to have the face of a beast or animal if I focus, is what makes me think that it has something to do with hermit folklore.
-
No because that's one of the main reasons how killers get 4ks fast, when people start acting overly altruistic and cant buzz off of one another. I like my independence when I need it. Especially with a perk like Discordance where multiple people on a gen give away a location. Imagine everyone having to meet at one point to heal faster, and then have to spread out far and wide for gens to get on or decide if they wanna bait the killer by triggering discordance assuming they actually know the killer has it. Then there's also surveillance and nurse, and whatever else.
-
I don't have issues with this, I think it adds to the experience when you think you've gotten away but get hit. Plus I usually see a red stain even if its a tiny bit when it happens and I am on console mainly. So if you don't see red when you're starting to jump then I think it may just come afterwards while the killer lunges.
There have been streams I've seen though where someone will get hit while FALLING from a window which is weird. And I recently saw a puppers video where he got trapped in an invisible trap in front of a window so yeah, I think there may be something wrong with windows.
-
Bond is awesome, I like to use it with randoms sometimes. It's great if you're a player who gets chased a lot by hot blooded persistent and tunneling killers who are mad they're too stubborn to leave you alone after 2 or 3 gens popped and ignore the poorly camouflaged crouching teammates behind the loop swinging to the next generator. Sometimes you may rage with it though because you will see people just crouching too scared to move because they heard a little heartbeat and think the killer is after them. I love when I have bond and some smug players are sticking on a generator next to me and the killer because they just don't give a damn. I love you players who ignore chases nearby and keep doing gens you guys make me laugh.

It made me stop playing the game for almost a week. Every game I get trappers in the grassiest map with the freaking broken boats or I get a try hard, tunneling piggy who find me almost as soon as the matches start, probably because I purposely wear bright clothes on my characters and don't crouch around everywhere. and wanna tunnel me when there's like 2 gens left and 3 perfectly fine survivors. For what it's worth, most of her add-ons are not good. I wouldn't necessarily advocate for restockable traps, but she does need more buffs than what she currently has received.
I haven't played piggy yet so I don't know much about her besides the fact that if I see a jigsaw box while loading into a game I'm going to poop myself and likely be found first and terrorized to death. An add on she had on the dwight that died trying to escape even though he no longer had a trap on was one where the survivor takes damage while they are in motion. I don't know if it persists after the trap is off or what. But he got blood spurting out of his trap-less head and died trying to head out the gate. I don't remember what the other one is, but maybe this while be of use to you.

None of the classic bad guys especially tyrants would be a threat imo. Their attacks are too short range or linear and they need super speed to use them which would make them imbalanced killers.

You mean ability wise? I think the easiest would be the Hillbilly, and Legion just from observation if you're not too lazy to look around for people when they're not in plain view. Add Spirit to the list if you understand chasing and play of survivors.
Ive played as killers less than 15 times total, and only tried 3 killers maybe 4 but spirit is who I will main. I get too many D/Cs with her because I don't have to camp or tunnel cocky players to beat them at their games. I just wait for them where I know they're headed and grab em off a gen or slap them when they try to do a tiny bit of self care. Then sip the imaginary tea and see if I get incoming hate. I'm a low rank killer who tends to get cocky depipped swf trying to boost their new friend and sometimes they get too cocky to the point where they get too predictable. Highly recommend Spirit if you understand chases intermediate-advanced level, even if you're not a high rank player. -
People in this game confuse me sometimes Fluff. A killer once told me that he ragequits whenever survivors stand by palettes and loop them because they're not playing the game the way they're supposed to. Which I think he meant. "They're not letting me kill them."
So I imagine these survivors that say "gen tunnelling" mean "Why won't this killer let us 100% this generator we are almost done with? They're not playing the game the way it's meant to be played, which is letting us open the escape route." -
LOL, I can't wait to main killers. I don't think I've ever talked trash to a killer before except for when I asked them to please stop rage quitting so that they can save the points they did earn while I was super new and farming to get perks on my bloodwebs.
I've also sent messages of advice to killers who sucked and ragequit and they took it as me being a "Hater" and "toxic player" and that's lead to hilarious messages. Last killer I did that too said and I quote:
"Survivors who stand by palettes waiting for the killer and who loop them are toxic and don't know how to play the game. I don't do that #########."I've also had teammates accuse me of siding with the killer simply because I didnt jump into their moshpit of floored idiots trying to cleanse hex totems while the killer is there. And sometimes I do just because it's hilarious and I don't hate not surviving but nobody ever sends me hate mail when I do for some reason.
Once I got accused of siding with the killer because I teabagged a killer who floored a teammate, just soo happened to be doing it above the teammate and the teammate thought I meant to teabag them and kept doing the spam unhooking animation when I was hooked. It was hilarious because the killer was flooring all their swf behind us and leaving him to it then once all his swf got floored he pulled the guy who was way too into trying to make me mad off the hook and hooked him somewhere else followed by his sad friends. And then the killer and I laughed about it in PMs.

If you're not frugal about your items, bring in Green or Purple toolkits with yellow, green, purple add-ons and a White Ward offering and gen tap. That ruin will cry.
I never gen tap a ruin unless I have a green or purple toolkit because personally I think it's useless unless you suck at generators. HMMM, iirc, that surveillance perk shows auras of regressed generators so if you think the killer has it, gen tap with green/purple toolkit. And be wary of Franklin's Demise because the white ward only works if you die holding your item (Which imo needs to be fixed or the offering description needs to be edited to state that if it hasn't been). Be stealthy.
