Pretty sure they aimed about Pig or Clown addons.
These killers and Clown don't need "just" an addon pass. They need a full rework.

I don't get salty because of things like second chances, genrushing or tunneling etc, though I really hate when other side starts bming and acting like asses

NOED works because survivors don't want to risk wasting time to prevent something that might not happen anyway but if they made a basekit NOED, you can be sure that 99% of the time you won't be able to use it.
That's the point. Make noed constant and thus creating a choice for survivors - do secondary, spending some time and denying killer's burst of power in endgame or focus on gens and give killer a burst of power .
-
@darktrix said:
You probably would have a higher survival rate if you just noted where all the totems were and did your gens - then dealt with noed. If it appeared at all. NOED only appears in maybe 20% of my games - and you can usually tell it's coming...the killer is bad (camper or cannot catch anyone) or just doesn't care about protecting gens.
You are also destroying anyone else's chance of getting benefit from Inner Strength by totem hunting to the exclusion of anything else.
I preffer not to allow noed to spawn in the first place. Of course, if the killer applies insane pressure I would rather rush gens&remember totem spots, but since I can usually afford myself to dedicate some time to cleansing bones, I would better do that, so there would be not a mere possibility for the noed to ######### me over.
Also, remembering totems&cleansing noed can put you in a serious disadvantage if the noed spawns in the totem which killer can successfully protect. I once had a game where noed spawned between exit gates and there was no way I could cleanse it in time as killer had a good view on it (It spawned on the notorious killing hill).
-
@hillbillyclaudmain69 said:
Actually doing bones can royally ######### you over. The best thing you can do is remember where they are, so in case of noed, you know where it could be instead of searching for a totem.
Sure you can remember, but what's better: cleanse them before something happens or search through totem spots in panic while killer deletes your team? You can also get "royally" (sounds amazing, I admit it) ######### over if the noed coincidentally gets spawned in a spot which killer can control well.
-
@White_Owl said:
Cleansing 5 totems takes 70 seconds without accounting for travel time, so it's the equivalent of a full generator. For a killer who is not very good and can't pressure gens (=the average NOED user), by spending all that time not doing gens you're doing them a big favour. In fact, from my experience that is enough to put in difficulty the whole team.
So no, Detective's Hunch and doing all totems is not a good way to deal with the perk. It's way better to cleanse 1-2 totems if you stumble upon them, and before/when the last gen pops be ready to look for the lit totem. This way most of the times NOED gives a killer just one easy down before being cleansed.
It's not equal to a doing generator, since you spend much less time completing the "pieces" of that generator and killer can't do much about it.
Also, just like I said, I didn't just stick to totems, I did both gens and totems.
-
No they shouldn't. They already get up to 120 seconds of freedom, there's no need to boost them during that period of time.
-
Firstly, No.
Secondly: When killers "have" to use a certain perk in every game, it gets deleted, when survivors "have" to use a certain perk in every game, they are asking to make it basekit, lul

Are you seriously thinking that a rank 18 or 20 can't face red ranks? Have you been absent for months or something, because have you seen the matchmaking lately?
There are matches that place grey, yellow, and green rank players against red rank players, the proof is on the forums where there are pictures of the ranks.
I've been playing in duo SWF with rank 1 so I get a huge chance to get matched against stronger killers, so it's not really about matchmaking which didn't have a choice.

I got hit with noed only once, when I was extremely unlucky with hunch procs and totem spawns (1 totem got spawned in some ass I didn't reach even with hunch and forgot to check).
In any other games I died, my death was not because of a noed, but because of my lack of experience - I ran into deadzones, got mindgamed easily etc.

You had to bring a specific perk to do bones and not only that you died doing bones even in swf. Now that you have revealed you have very little hours in surv it's pretty hard to take all lot of what you say seriously. But I'm gonna go with your stats.
I was playing in duo and not 4 man SWF, so I didn't have enormous advantage. Any advantage I had was compensated with my lack of personal skill.
Also, one of points of that post is that if rank 20 without experience can do that and mostly succeed, then it shouldn't be such a big of a deal for rank 1 survivors mains who certainly have learned totem spots by heart so far and have far bigger experience and skill than me.

Lol how stupid do you think we are? A killer main that wants people to stop hating on NOED so when devs see one positive post about it then they wont dont do anything about it??
You have changed NOTHING with all this fake information of yours without posting screenshots of at least some of the matches against these supposedly 'rank 1 killers' that you went against.
Yes, I am beating a dead horse but I will mention that me and including other people will continue to complain about NOED time to time and the Devs WILL change it at some point in the future. You will NOT change that course of action.
So enjoy noed you baby killer main but know that it will DEFINITELY be changed at some point in the future.
Think and say whatever you like, I'm just sharing my experience of pulling off so called "useless and gamelosing" counterplay which is doing bones successfully against players significantly better than me.

Never tried Hunch. Small games one of my favorite perks for solo so I might check it out. Would be a lot more useful on maps like Hawwkins and The Game.
This perk is just insane, 64 meters range is enough to cover like 1/3 of the normal map and it can easily find you most totems. Of course you can't make 100% sure all totems are gone, though you can be in every 1/3 of the map when gen pops to cover the entire map with this perk, so it's awesome.

The answer is almost none, and almost never.
Now when i'm memeing, sure Iron Maiden all the way. Otherwise I will always take perks like Pop, Corrupt Intervention, Surveillance, Thrilling Tremors, Save The Best For Last, hell even NOED, over perks like Iron Maiden if i'm playing to win.
Sometimes it's really worth a slot

I could kinda see iron maiden being useful on Doctor and Wraith, but that's it. It's a noob-bait pick on Huntress. Absolutely not worth it over something like whispers or corrupt, or honestly any other tracking perk which is what she needs most.
It's very good on leatherface, hillbilly or nurse. I usually take this perk over noed if I feel like I'm sick of locker jukes/perks and I haven't got genrushed recently.
Survivors usually do locker jukes against bubba/billy when healthy to avoid double damage and force you to M1 and here Iron Maiden puts them in almost lose-lose situations (any ways out are very unlikely).
Also, it works great with BBQ as it reveals survivors who hide on lockers.
-
@dugman said:
The main weakness to Iron Maiden is that once it happens they know you have the perk and will probably just avoid lockers from then on. And because the Exposed condition and the aura are so short it’s questionable whether you’ll have time to capitalize on it.
That being said I can see the point about synergizing a bit with BBQ and chili. (I don’t use that perk personally though, I don’t care about the out-of-game currency bonus from it and I like other perks better than the BBQ auras for most killers. I get that it’s popular though because of that combo of not too bad tracking and a big BP boost, I just don’t think the tracking on its own is worth it.)
I mean if they avoid lockers, that is good too, if survivors use perks like Head On/Inner strength or abuse DS&Inner Strength combo

Well, it doesn't matter how much you suffer as you just die and that's it. Not something pleasant, but it will have an end eventually. This, however, has no end, at least by measures of human life. They are going to spend so much time inside so that would feel like eternity to them.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD:
With the current tome chapter the first new Revelation went live
In it, the Observer gets the chance to see a realm in which survivors are living together quite... happily? He muses if this was an illusion, but if it is true, that might mean there's a chance survivors (maybe killers, too) can escape to a realm beyond the Entity's grasp, and maybe get home from there?
I suppose in many alternative universes the Entity feasts on even that could supply it with what it needs.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming that Spirit is overpowered or unbeatable. I'm just saying that if the stats did hypothetically show she is overpowered then it's probably because of her combination of fast map travel and solid looping.
The stats aren't very precise. For example they don't take DC into consideration

The game does not reward anybody for being stealthy, and nobody can remain like that the whole game and do 5 gens, eventually things will start rolling out for the spirit and it won't stop, it's not that survivors don't want to, it's simply stupid and inefficient, unless you want a game of hide and seek that can last up to an hour.
When you take out both the skill AND the active interaction between killer and survivor, this game becomes so stale you might aswell look at a wall for the rest of the day and get the same result.
Just because the game doesn't reward your for stealth as much as it rewards you for running, it doesn't mean that this counterplay isn't legit. You can do 5 gens by stealthing against spirit or at least guarantee yourself a hatch&pip which is also technically a victory.
And implying that stealth doesn't require skill is not correct.

@dugman said:
I think Spirit having a mindgame advantage at loops is perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with some killers being better at looping than others, and there's nothing wrong with a killer forcing a survivor to have to make educated guesses about the killer's intentions to increase their chances of making a misplay.
To me, if Spirit needs a nerf, it's only because she is both excellent at loops AND has excellent map mobility. Her ability doubles as both a way to efficiently beat survivors in loops and a way to very quickly transition from one part of the map to another to extend her pressure. It's that double whammy of great at chases and great and map movement that makes her one of the top two or three killers in the game (along with Nurse and Freddy who are great for the same reason).
For example, Clown is also excellent at chases and loops. He can very efficiently get hits in chases and can basically force early pallet drops and still then potentially beat survivors at the loop after the pallet is dropped depending on its size. And that's great. ... But that's also all he has. Without a way to get around the map quickly he's limited in how much he can do when the survivors are spread out and he needs to spend time getting from one chase to another. Spirit in comparison can pretty much do it all.
Or on the flip side, look at Demogorgon. He can set up portals and get around the map really well, but his Shred is mostly situational so his efficiency at getting downs and beating loops isn't as good as Spirit's. And even though she can't teleport she can phase sprint very quickly when necessary.
So if Spirit is in fact overpowered based on her actual stats (which I have no idea if she is or not since there's no official stat site to compare killer's scores and kill percentages) then nerfing her should probably be either to make her not quite as good at loops OR reduce her ability to get around the map quickly but keep her able to do loops. An interesting idea for instance would be to make her phasing move her at 110% or 115% or 120% speed for a fairly short time but allow her to phase through objects. By phasing invisible through pallets and walls she could potentially still have an edge at loops like she does now, but by only moving at normal speed while phased it takes away the ability to cross the map quickly. (It also probably makes more sense thematically being able to phase through things but that's just my opinion.)
Spirit is like Nurse - terrible at finding survivors. That's her main weakness many survivors don't want and don't know how to exploit.
There's literally nothing a good Spirit can do to stealthy survivors without losing gamechanging amount of time, especially if they know how to avoid generic aura reading perks (hide behind gens&in locker to avoid BBQ, etc).
Yeah, it's boring, but that's how spirit can be effectively countered. She can't use her advantage in loops or in mobility if she doesn't see you entire match.
I recall having some rare Spirit games against stealthing survivors and these games were insanely difficult because I couldn't afford wasting time to find them as 110% killer as they hopped gens immediately when they made sure I'm gone.
-
@Kind_Lemon said:
It's because the killer always has the option to not guess and just chase the survivor without doing any double-backs. Survivors don't get that opportunity against Spirit. They will go down if they don't attempt a guess.
In short: the situations aren't reversible
No, you are wrong here. If survivor refuses to mindgame, he loses the chase. If killer refuses to mindgame, he loses the chase (wastes too much time on it, which inevitably leads to defeat). The only difference is that if survivor refuses to play mindgames, the chase ends very fast, while if killer refuses, the chase will last too long for it to be acceptable.
Situations are reversible with taking assymetric aspect in account.

How are jungle gyms unfair? Unless you are playing a completely M1 killer like GF, legion or wraith you have ways of cutting them.
We are not talking about "other" killers in that thread who have ability to cut loops in one way or another. It's obvious that if the killer can cut loop, then (usually) the killer is in control in one way or another and has bigger advantage.
-
@SavouryRain said:
Obviously with your last statement, I already know that you won't actually listen to anything anyone will say. So I'm aware that this is falling on deaf ears:
In the times that the Killer is guessing, the survivor is also guessing. When the killer attempts to mindgame, you're guessing if the survivor is going to double back or not. At the same exact moment, once the killer's stain is gone from sight, the survivor is also guessing. Likewise, when the Huntress' hatchet winds up, you're guessing when she is going to release, guessing when Billy is going to fully charge his saw, etc.
Stridor Spirit removes pretty much all of the guesswork from the Killer's side. That's the part that people are complaining about.
Survivor is usually getting more information than killer because survivor has 3rd person view. The simplest example - survivor can stand in the pallet and observe both sides of the long wall in long&short loop, while killer isn't even 100% sure survivor is in the pallet because he cannot see him. Guessing part is less for survivor who naturally gets more feedback.
As for "stridor spirit", this mostly works when you are injured. If you are healthy and she manages to HEAR your "breathing" while being deafened by vacuum cleaner noises, then you just can't be mad about it, because THIS spirit is really good and has an exceptionally good headphones set and owl's hearing (which is not the case for most spirits you are ever going to face, let's be honest).

@Todgeweiht said:
I don't think "lack of counterplay" is really an issue, especially in a game that is not really all that competitive.
But spirit does not seem quite right to me, I mean, she has her difficulty and all, but comparing her with killers like hag, billy, huntress and nurse with a high skill ceiling, she just feels too easy to play for what she offers, same problem I had with old billy and current freddy.
Its okay that a killer is strong, but to get to play him to his maximum potential you should have to put a considerable amount of brains on it, and with spirit its really not that hard, specially with add-ons.
She feels too easy because 99% of people don't know how to deal with her and refuse to do so.
It's as if people ran in straight line against charging billy, he would seem easy to play too, but once you face people who do all these jukes, you are going to have really hard times.
Once you meet survivors who actually know how to avoid Spirit, she won't seem very easy to you.

Base crouch- 90%. Leather Knife Sheath (+5.6%). Drop-Leg Knife Sheath (+8.4%). 104% movement speed.
It is slower, but since there's no delay with M1 attacks and crouching seriously messes with Survivors while looping because you're shorter than Hag. Also, the smaller hitbox makes it much harder for you to be revealed from Night Shroud.
So it's surprisingly viable. And very meme. I spend half the game laughing as I get a 4k. Maybe not an all the time build but its spicy to mix into your gameplay
Double crouch addons
Nemesis+PWYF+Shadowborn+Nurse's calling/other detection perk.
Crouch the whole game.
I've heard some people referring to that build as "Smolface" or smth, I personally call it "Crouchface". Very funny and meme, get 3 tokens of PWYF and your train
has no brakes119% movement speed. Also, cuz you are smaller and have bigger FOV, you feel S P E E D -

What baffles me, is that it costs very little for them to make something that everybody would love or just not choose something they know they can't fully make.

I certainly do not agree with people that say Spirit takes no skill, i do think it‘s not that easy to Master her, but she definitely takes way less skill than nurse, that‘s for sure. What i personally dislike About Spirit is her luck based counterplay, when playing against her its more just guessing, skill doesn‘t really affect the counterplay in a chase against her. And when injured you don‘t really have any counterplay at all. At least when the game‘s sound works.
it's guessing if you have zero clue how spirits usually move. You could call every mindgames guessing if you did not understand how killer/survivors tend to move when you don't see them in the loop.

I'm pretty sure he is either under impression of playing against potatoes or simply lying so people don't attack him.
As for camping bubba, sometimes the best counterplay is doing nothing to save them. People should learn that sometimes survivors are the same disposable resources as items, once per trial perks etc. Got to sacrifice some in order to win.

Well, event cosmetics were given in a time where the game was buggy af and unbalanced. Ruin was a threat and DS was broken. We played through it.
And the exact same is true for legacy.
Doesnt matter if it was early days or if the game may have failed. They didnt earn legacy yo save the game. They did it by JUST playing. Like event cosmetics.
It's the same exact thing. Did one require more time? Absolutely. Are they different situations? No way in hell.
Besides, most people WITH legacy these days are hackers, most of the old players quit.
And even then, at the LEAST give it to people who had an account before the date of change. Ya know, those who were actually eligible.
But then that would be different from the events. Those were given to people who werent playing or supporting the game 3 years ago....
See how this is a circle? Because they're the same thing.

I haven't mentioned that in my post, since I don't have any concrete proofs to that, but I'll make sure to add more if I find another devs' posts where they mention how "you got to use them earlier" and "it's unfair to the other platforms".

I could understand giving out the pax exclusives because they required a steam code. This created a lot of grief because people were getting scammed out of a lot of money for those skins, so I support them giving those out (even if my own exclusives aren't special anymore).
Giving out items that could only be earned, like legacy and through grinding special events (like the howling grounds event) is a betrayal to those who took the time to earn them. I was not okay with the fact that they gave out those event cosmetics to everyone and I hope they never do the same with legacy.
>I was not okay with the fact that they gave out those event cosmetics to everyone and I hope they never do the same with legacy.
They shouldn't have started giving out such cosmetics in the first place, yet they did. It would be fair to make ALL exclusive cosmetics available, not stop half way through because "tHiS wOulD bE uNfAiR tO lEgAcY oWnErS". For some reason that didn't stop them from giving out event cosmetics, so what differs legacy from them?
-
@Ancheri said:
Honestly, if people buy legacy these days, they just deserve to get scammed. It is very easy to track fake legacy profiles - even private ones, because many people report owners out of jealousy and devs can easily check whether it has been earned rightfully or not. The money made by selling real legacy profiles could not be taken into comparison with the money made with the sale of exclusive skins. Also, I've never heard of anyone buying legacy accounts anyway. People feeling like they need the skin that desperately would just as well hack it, I am certain.
Also, I don't think you can compare it to event items that easily. Of course people worked hard for those, some of the challenges were anything but easy. Still, legacy was given to players who believed in the game from the very beginning - before its big boom. The event items too show the commitment of many players and therefore I feel like players should be proud to own those instead of insisting on completing an incompletable collection.
If anything, enabling people to acquire legacy right now would be hypocrisy.
In advance: yes, I did earn legacy for several characters. However, I lost it due to the loss of progress issue a few years ago without the chance of a refund.
>If anything, enabling people to acquire legacy right now would be hypocrisy.
The hypocrisy is entirely devaluing one skins and keeping that value to other for no reason and not making legacy available, when other exclusives were given out for nothing. And please, don't start with that "loyalty' nonsense again, in that case skins wouldn't have been distributed in the first place.
>Honestly, if people buy legacy these days, they just deserve to get scammed.
People who tried buying any exclusives even before that november post deserved to be scammed, yet bhvr did give these skins to everyone.
