I'll tell you the core reason people DC: There is no reward for ranking up, only punishment as you get harder killers. Also it's practically impossible to go past rank 8 now anyway
But if that would be the reason, then people wouldn't care about deranking as they don't get anything anyway when getting to rank 1 and so people would disconnect less. Most people disconnect to save themselves from depipping, not to derank.
-
I sometimes get quite frustrated by teammates too, but I still don't regret playing solo 99% of the time. I just try to use perks that make me depend on people as less as possible like Self-Care and Deliverance.

I “camp” if:
you flashlight me
you bring in a key
you last second switch
you teabag or BM
MoM
you kite me around every possible place, exploiting poor hit boxes and making me bloodlust
Maybe you did one of these to a killer who feels the way I do?
And by “camp” I just mean I stay in the area.
You camp people because they use features the game offers them? I'm not sure what I should say about that, lol.

are u trying to say that ppl only play this killers because its hard to rank up with others? you know that almost no one wants to be a high rank killers cuz of bad queue times right?
Queue times seem fine now. And yes I totally believe people prefer the higher tier killers so they can get their pip, apply good pressure and not get played around with.
-
I have nobody specific. Everybody is nice in their own way as long as long as they don't spread stupidity
-
Visual bug that usually gets fixed when restarting the game
-
im so tired of only playing against billy and nurse at purple/red ranks since the release of this stupid perk.
I'm quite sure people play with these killers because the emblem system changed, not because MoM was introduced to the game
-
The perk tiers don't have to change, the way you gain bloodpoints and the amounts should
-
Iron Will already is good enough, helps a lot in chases. Having it to make you quiet when in dying state too can be annoying too as you might be laying on the ground for quite some time which is such a time waste
-
That looks scarier than a Spirit with Prayer Beads

Oh really? Because what I only see on the forum is about the killers nerfs :)
I do agree that quite some survivors make whiny posts but so do killers. Both parties do. And if you only look at survivors doing that then you're not having a fair perspective on it. And, the fact that there's a lot of negativity (from survivor side) doesn't mean that there is no positivity. Be a bit more open minded.
-
Depending on the map Balanced Landing is much better yeah

Survivors mains: "Hey guys! We was whining about the Legion and they're finally got nerfed hahahahahaha Let's do the same about other killers so we can loop them, because this is so skilled"
Stop making it look as if every survivor main is like that. Many of us do agree with the buffs for killers, only small minded people don't.
-
Would be funny as hell, but would make the immature people even worse.
-
For me Hag is easier to play because I enjoy her power. Her traps can apply such good map pressure and disable loops much more. Spirits can be good if they mindgame the survivors really well though, but it's hard to become very good with Spirit I feel.

Well, with his mobility, breaking chase is really easy and really not that bad. He just chainsaws around until he finds a survivor in a bad spot, which he can then insta down and start snowballing from there.
But these situations happen much more on lower ranks. In the red and probably purple ranks too you'll rarely see this happen as people know not to hide in awkward corners when going against a Billy, and in the low ranks every killer could be strong really depending on how much the survivors know.
-
Maybe Hillbilly is very mobile with his chainsaw but he can easily get looped. I find it one of the easier killers to run around. He is not as amazing or strong as people say. I rarely see good Hillbilly's who have put a lot of time into this killer, and even they sometimes have a hard time getting a 4k.
-
Duh, when you're connected to the killer's lobby. Why don't you just add people to your friendlist and discuss the game with them or use their comment box for it? Makes you new friends too.
-
This one stays the funniest for me. It wasn't too salty but the killer clearly didn't like it :p

explanation: No longer fun to play as, no useful ability, no map pressure, completely nothing. Trash tier killer, thanks to you.
Thanks to me? What have I done exactly? Is there any topic I made that says I'm upset with this killer's power? No there is not. Stop making conclusions based on nonsense just because YOU are upset.

Corrected that for you:
I'm quite sure if the new changes stop the Survivor fun, developers will modify the Killer until it's fun for Survivors (especially Survivors).
The devs don't care about Killer fun. Whenever they mentioned the fun aspect in the past couple of months, they only spoke of Survivor fun.
That's true, but we can never predict future events 100% truthfully so we can still hope that this time that won't be the case.
-
@Ihatelife said:
Yes, thank u so much community. You've make this killers a garbage trash.
Are you saying this to refer to your name or because you dislike the changes? If it's the second then just make a topic or whatsoever with proper explanation of why you don't like it. :]]

only five minutes pffft me and a friend tested in a kyf lobby your mend can possibly go from 10 minutes to an hour to well probably forever tbh.
I went against a Legion with add-ons to make mending time increase tremendously recently, but the timer wasn't as long as yours. How many hits do you need to get a 1 hour mending timer? Since every hit decreases the timer until you're down the Legion is limited in hitting you

Legion is basically dead if this goes through as-is. There's not reason not to just play plague and instadown people with vomit, or Billy, or Myers, or literally any other killer. So nice job i guess; after this, Survivors will find new reasons to DC constantly and something else to get nerfed into the ground.
Some people also play a killer for it's fun ability, not necessarily to make a 4k. When new changes go live and it turns out it's really becoming a unattractive killer that rarely gets played then I'm sure new changes will be made. Don't look too far ahead
-
I'm quite sure if the new changes stop the fun, developers will modify the killer until it's both balanced and fun for everyone (especially killers).

Wait times for me as a survivor can take about 5-10 minutes, which isn't the end of the world I admit, but feels way too long. Basically I'm just trying to think of ways to improve the chances for people to play matches instead of waiting.
What rank do you play on?
It might depend on the timezone and/or where you play. I play in Europe and only in the early morning I have to wait around 3 minutes to find a lobby, other than that it's pretty much instant. Might be a different story for red ranks though, but I do think they still can find matches quite fast with no problems after the recent changes to the new emblem system.

@Boss said:
Doesn't Pallet placement do that if it can't find any other spot?
Or was that just near the main building?
There were places with no pallets where one usually spawns, so instead of having double pallets at 1 loop one could have been placed there. Thought they set a certain distance for pallets to spawn to avoid this situation, but apparently it had changed with the Plague update? :?

Same here ^ (i have deja vu)
Doesn't it actually feel really nice to see it again after such a long time? :P That's what I felt atleast, it's a bit of nostalgy maybe.
-
I've seen the topic a few times but it's not like it ever seemed interesting enough for me to actual read what people say in there :P. Might give it a check soon.
-
It's nice to see positivity when negativity and toxicity controls this community.
-
Many people like the competitive atmosphere to the game which would be completely taken away if you'd only be able to play ranked matches during the weekend. Unless you play on the moon I don't think waiting times are so huge that you would need to disable ranked gameplay for 5 days of the week.
-
I see a lot of people who refuse getting healed by others if there's no We'll Make It, therefor I think We'll Make It is much better to have
-
Sad thing is that I could be greedy with the pallets without getting hit which increased the amount of loops I could make a lot, because the distance is so short. Felt nice to see it again though, but I'm glad it's not a standard thing.
-
But people curing themselves is good as it allows you to get the red vomit.
Don't think effects like slower generator progression should be added or anything, as you already infect others and the generator if you keep working on it. More people infected either means more vomit that allows you to down survivors or 1 hit down opportunities
-
I do have self-care equipped usually but I rather work on a generator and wait for a teammate to heal me than heal myself. But I keep it equipped because at some times I just have nobody to heal me but I need to be healthy in order to save others or whatsoever.

yes. For the reasons stated. You're standing in a corner doing ######### nothing. The time it takes you to self care you could do almost 50% of a generator.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/419982#Comment_419982
I know, and it's irritating to see two people self caring across the map while I'm hanging on a hook.
On the other hand, instead of having someone else to heal you, you patch yourself up while this person could be working on the generator. Self-care is not as bad as you think it is. Another addition to self-care is that it is very strong against Freddy.
Seems like you've had a few matches where people kept on going to corners while they could have been more tactical at those moments.

Wow, never knew we were toxic. I guess I ignored the 5,000 posts in the past about how evil we are to each other.
If you think this community is toxic, I guess you never played any old school PVP MMOs before. This is like tea time at Buckingham compared to how bad things were in the past.
Lastly, things are only toxic if you let them be toxic. Nothing people say or do in chat means anything. Its just words. Whatever they do in game, its just a game. Relax, breath, go outside and get some fresh air.
Which oldschool MMOs are as toxic as DBD? I've played quite some but have never seen so much hateful people on daily base in any game than DBD

trying to let people know that self care isn't actually a good perk.
A perk that doesn't make you rely on teammates as much so you can make sure you're healed majority of the match and able to hold on to a chase much longer isn't ''actually a good perk''?
-
I bet the game was in a better state than it is right now
-
Amazing cosmetics, I love you
-
It's a bug caused by certain add-ons. But you can report the player for using the bug to their advantage.
-
I think (but I'm definetly not sure on this one) that in the endgame screen you'll see that all 4 survivors have escaped when the disconnect happened from the killer side. Otherwise you just see the disconnect icon next to your name with the remaining survivors in the game shown as still alive and in the match
-
But sometimes it's not the fault of the killer or survivor. Quite sure this bug where you randomly disconnect is still in the game and these days it's been a lot of 3v1's.
-
I gave the hatch several times to survivors who had been farmed or sandbagged.
-
Just wait.

@DocOctober said:
Devs already said it isn't. Moonwalking has been part of the game for a long time and is a major mindgame strategy amongst most Killers.
Sure thing, moonwalking when playing legion is definetly a mindgame and not just turning your mouse 180 degrees to not give any survivors the chance to mend. -_-
-
Many people fail to be good at something in real life, and they do in a game too which explains their toxic behavior. Just take it with a pinch of salt
-
Toxic survivors AND toxic killers. Toxic community in general with a few good people
