You haven't been dodging keys?
-
Purple rank is the worst rank to be in IMO. It's when you are not quite good enough to beat particularly skilled red rank solos, you are not quite good enough to play average skilled but well organised red rank SWFs. And all you get are particularly skilled and well organised red rank SWFs.
I find the biggest problem is once you miss your first swing, it gives the survivor more confidence and you put more pressure on yourself. This is when you need to keep your cool, not rush your swing and ensure that Nea is in the centre of your screen. If you miss a couple more times, abort the chase and find someone else. The next time your encounter that survivor you might feel less pressure.

A few days before rank reset, start to main the killer you are weakest with (For me, Nurse). Hopefully by the time you hit rank reset you will have (naturally) deranked one colour. Once rank reset happens you will be down another colour and have a bit more experience with your weakest killer. I'd recommend not playing killer for a few days after rank reset to get rid of some of the better players.
Once you start to play, lobby dodge as appropriate. 4 players loading in at the same time - Dodge. Key - Dodge. Impressive cosmetics - Dodge.
Once you find a lobby with two default Claudette's, a default Dwight and any Meg, start your game and not tunnel but kinda tunnel without making it obvious. You need to get rid of one person ASAP without them DCing.
Try your best to get as many hits and hooks as possible and you'll soon get bloody Adept Nurse for the second time because upgrading to PS5 makes you do them all again. I'm not bitter.
-
It's a really good idea. Hopefully they would also give extra copies of charms for those that upgraded from PS4 to PS5 and had to do adept Nurse twice!
-
Playing a single survivor game and a single killer game every day will give you much more progress than playing the same amount of games in a single day. You lose out on the first survivor/killer game of the day bonus to rift progression.

Because Demo is cute and lovable.
That baby is neither cute nor lovable. And neither is his mom.

Do you no longer consider Shrek hot?

I mean who really cares, if you're just camping one person during the egc you've already lost, but the best play is to hit the rescuer as they come in, but if there are two healthy survivors to rescue you're screwed, just like before. I might ask you what has changed from before though because you were screwed in this situation before anyway unless using pig/Ghostface/Insidious hiding behind a wall. If you've lost this badly you shouldn't be rewarded with a dirty kill anyway so what the problem?
If two people are dead then I would argue that you haven't yet lost in this scenario. I would always recommend guarding your hooked survivor if the gates are powered. You either secure your kill or get an opportuntiy to chase another survivor.

Matchmaking right now is either too easy or too hard.
Even as a solo survivor I mostly pull green/brown rank killers, games are boring I literally have to run at the killer to get him to notice and chase me.
As killer the survivors are so optimized the games end quickly.
I tried playing during the MMR test, as survivor it put me with reds against a green rank killer, so I'm not too optimistic. Maybe like now if there are not enough killers it just matches you with anyone?
Funny you should say that matchmaking is either too easy or too hard. I either get 4 kills or no kills. This gives me the BHVR target average 2 kills per game so from their perspective matchmaking is pefect.
I played 40 games during the MMR (all as the same 2 killers) and lost 37 of them. MMR didn't adjust to my performance.

Ehhm, I considered it from a killer perspective. I even said I couldn't find the person after I hit them. Am I misunderstanding you right now? if so I'm sorry.
Sorry I meant to reply to @Brub but his post has gone.

question: Have you played the PTB? and do you know how long 90 seconds in this game is?
You have to consider this from the killer perspective and not a solo survivor's perspective. One survivor running it will probably get a single free escape.
An SWF with Lucky Break will send a player to the killer one at a time knowing that they will escape the chase as long as they are at a loop with LOS blockers. If the killer loses the first 4 chases he has lost the game.

I think the devs are really reluctant to make changes that the community suggests. I don't think they like the idea that we know their game better than they do. They want to make their own changes.
I don't think they understood that they were nerfing Demo
I don't think they even realise what they have created with Lucky Break.
The community reads these proposed changes and knows whether they are bad or good without even needing to test them out.
Iri heads, moris, DS, OoO, button mashing on hook, colour blind mode and keys could have been changed a long time ago if they listened to us but they do not want to give in to the community.
The change to the button mashing was never about preventing deliberate suicides, you can still do it even with the changes. People were accidently suiciding because of how fast you had to mash the button. It probably only really affected older players and those with physical disabiliies. I accidently suicide very frequently.

So staying on the boring meta of ds unbreakable, dead hard trio is good
No but breaking the meta by introducing an even more powerful perk that the current meta can be a problem. When the current meta is already very powerful. I still have Mettle of Man flashbacks.

Nah, a normal trial is:
One person being chased.
One Claudette nearby who THINKS she's being chased.
One person looking for Ruin.
One person working a gen.
Yes, but only if you are playing survivor.

Prestiging for a skin lmao
I bet people will even prestiging if there would not even be a skin, just because they want to see this stupid icon xd
There was some talk no so long back about "Prestige Rewards". Although the devs never went into any detail about what they would be or when they might happen. I expect all we will get is an unimaginative charm though. If anything.

I always wondered why Space Coconut always advised against it on Hag. That does make sense. I might need to rethink my Hag build.

Oh no, not Spirit and Nurse! They're already struggling so much to stay viable!
How about Victor? The Twins will be really difficult to play if everyone swaps their DS for Lucky Break.
-
It's probably a bug that they "fixed".
Which is a shame, I want them to allow us to nod in the lobbys too.

This was a frustrating adept for sure. I actually got it last night just from M1-ing the whole match. I didn't use his power, not once. It was an ordeal limping after all the survivors. Ugh, this killer needs some work.
I got it the same way. I didn't even attempt to use his power, which to be honest, is really good advice for this killer whether you are going for the adept or not. I would never have killed all 4 people before the gens got done had I have tried to get 192 knife hits.
-
Aw, I was all ready with my Caps Lock key on and everything!
-
Survivors that say it is fine don't play solo.
-
You need a third option, "Not True". As it isn't true.

Maybe they thought, "Do you know what? Our lovely fans deserve those corn map reworks, let's hold the new chapter release for a little bit so they don't have to wait another three months."
-
You are right. Here is why I think this is the case:
When you are killer, there is a very high chance that you are playing against SWF (even if it is just a Duo).
When you are solo, there is a lower chance that you are in a lobby with an SWF compared to when you play killer because a 4-man is impossible when you are a solo, but somewhat likely as you play killer. (Hope that makes sense)
If you are "lucky" enough to be the random with a 3-man, SWF players often aren't too bothered about their solo team mate, their priority is to get all their SWF out ASAP so they will not be too interested in going out of their way to save you. Even if they are interested, you cannot relay exactly when and where you are going down making pallet and flashlight saves far less likely.
Alternatively, Conspiracy Theorists might argue that the Entity deliberately gives 4-man SWFs easy games so that their YouTube channels will get hits generating interest and potential new customers buying the game.
-
We'll have gone a full year (at least) before seeing a brand new map.
-
You misunderstood. They JUST said "takes no skill".
Not "takes no skill to play Plague". They were probably meaning "Takes no skill to beat us".
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Survivor's pairing was fantastic, not even the browns were potatoes. Tried out some killers I never use, swf or solos everyone regardless of rank was playing optimal, never ran out of pallets, and had minimum two gens done by time first chase was finished.
That's exactly what I found. It's like they were correctly finding really good loopers irrespective of rank - which is good. I just don't know why I was only getting these players when there are plenty of screen shots out there of rank 1 killers playing 3 17-20 ranks. Although it is possible that a terrible rank 1 killer is playing a highly coordinated team of efficient rank 20s, I would not expect it to be particularly common.

I wouldn't say hard I would say unfun is the word to describe mine.
Less fun that you usually find you mean? What was the difference? My games were mostly fun. I just lost them all.

@Kilmeran said:
They did say that for Killers you rarely play or have never played, their MMR will not be starting at "zero," so to speak, but will start with an average of your overall Killer MMR. As you play them more, their individual MMR will then go up or down before it settles, based on your performance with them.
So, if you are very good at some Killers, their MMR will play a part in your beginning MMR for the never or rarely played killers in your roster, until those killers also settle into their own MMR.
The reason they're doing it like that is because if you have lot of Killer hours, and a decent MMR on some killers, then you aren't a "new" killer and won't be treated as such on your lesser played killers.
I like to play the killers roughly evenly, so none of them feel left out.
-
It feels like your describling my MMR games.
-
I've played a LOT of games over the last 24 hours. I managed to "win" maybe two. Admittedly I still had a lot of fun, and probably improved but right now I want some of those lovely Megs that try to hide behind tiny trees and those bald Dwights that just look up into the sky right now.
I also played a couple of survivor games. I was teamed with rank 20s. That seemed about right for my skill level.
-
As killer, unfortunately my matches have all been 0Ks. Hope to meet you in the fog and one of us will end their run!
-
I played lots of matches as Demo, who I am terrible with. I lost pretty much all the matches. I didn't feel that the MMR adjusted the matchmaking in according to my terrible performances. At least there were no clearly new players in my matches so that's really good.
However I don't know if the MMR is even supposed to be adjusting in the test. It might just think I am a legendary Demo.
-
DBD has many flaws and balance problems. So yes it does only deserve a score of 9.
It does amuse me to see people with so many posts saying this is a poor game. If you don't like it, why are you still here? Do you have as many posts on the Fortnight forums I wonder?
-
20! It's 100 on Playstation!
-
Yes, sad. Does Jane's? Asking for a friend.
-
Was your Devout emblem silver despite getting 9 hooks or more by any chance?
-
This is a long time to go without an actual new map! Reworks are good but new maps are better.
-
Emblems are still bugged. I played Nurse on Haddonfield yesterday, only hooked one survivor all match. I got entity displeased, a black pip and ranked up!
When I tried to get some adepts BEFORE the patch, a Merciless Victory did not guarantee a double-pip so it is the double-pip that actually pops the acheivement. There was nothing in the patch to suggest they had fixed this. The survivor pipping was fixed obviously.
-
Anyone else still looking up see see how many gens are left? Damn my feeble brain!

It is bugged? Honestly i'm just going to wait until mmr is turned on to try for anymore
It is bugged. You will sometimes find you get Merciless Killer and only 1 pip and the acheivement will not pop. Cross your fingers and hope for a patch on Tuesday.
-
If you don't pip if you die then everyone will just open the gate and run out at the end, leaving everyone still in the game to fend for themselves. It would also give more power to Noed which is already a frustrating perk for solos to contend with.
-
It seems a bit pointless really. If someone calls me a fig or tells me to go and kiss myself, I'll still know what they mean. The intent behind the words are more of a problem than the words themselves.
-
@Nancy911 said:
It's been over a week now and carried over rank reset as well. Ppl lost so many levels because of this.
The biggest problem is not that it hasn't been fixed - The real issue is that they haven't even acknowledged it as anything other than a "visual" bug. That means a fix is probably not on its way in the next patch.
-
If multiple people are not paying attention, then that should be an advantage to the killer.
I didn't know this was ever a thing, but I think it would be a nice buff for a killer who is rarely regarded as top tier.
-
Not a visual bug. You get killer adepts taken off you from this bug, so it is more than just visual. Unfortunately this problably means the bug will not be fixed in the next patch.
-
Yes, unfortunately the devs think it is a visual bug. It is not a visual bug. Unfortunately most of the discussion seems to be regarding survivor emlems. Is nobody playing killer on these forums?
