Such god loopers play with OOO anyway. They don't have to care that much if the killer knows where they are.
The crows are very easy to manuver. Just move every once in a while and you can take the game hostage for like 30 minutes or as long as you want realy. This idea seems reasonable to me.
I'd say Whispers would help in that case.

I hate it when people hide the entire round and I cant find them and have to give up all my bloodpoints and take a 5 min ban. Last round as demogorgon I got two players with invisibility hacks just hiding in a corner.
I am now 30 min banned because this happens to me so often and the matchmaking is #########!
Mark people that hevent been hit in 10 mins, it would kick these people in the butt and will be unnoticable in normal plays!
So a decent looper, say one much better than me for instance, could interact with the killer but not get hit for ten minutes or more, and they too should take this "mark"? No way.

But that is an issue with nurse, not with indoor maps.
Not really I lose frames terribly on Lery's no matter which killer, worse than even the other indoor ones.
I could only imagine running a nurse in there mien gott...

If blood points were an issue on PC Then at least let it be removed on console. It’s really frustrating not being able to save them to fully PT someone
As you mentioned the cap is left over from hacker days, but is being kept in so no one can max out a new character in like 20 minutes. Gotta maintain that grind!
And removing the cap for certain platforms but not all seems very unfair to me as well.
-
If the devs separated out (or pre-game indicated) a SWF then just about no killer, including me, would knowingly go against them. No bloodpoint or compensation would really change that imo.
And since about half of all survs are in at least a two-man, queue times for all would soar.
The devs have been pretty consistent with only implementing changes that do not split the playerbase, punish gaming with friends, or hurt queue times.
Given that, the only suggestion I think makes sense is to raise solo play to something like SWF level, and then rebalance killers accordingly.
-
My Piggy says you are welcome, and where's my boop?
-
All four of them need to be tossed into the campfire. Hate em all no matter the role I play. Can't find anything on them. Can't memorize them. Frames drop everywhere and worsen as a game proceeds. Spent many an offering just increasing the likelihood of NOT going indoors.
Do not like them Sam I Am...
-
Goodness gracious
-
Because it woukd be abused badly, by eliminating players that only plays a killer you don't like, or a god-level looper, or always runs NOED, or whatever.
-
At least you have the option. Us lowly consolers cannot and most likely never will be able to do any PTB.
-
I personally think they have a massive to-do list and push out whatever is done in each patch.

I think the answer has been stated here, and has also been ignored and/or misrepresented:
If you are playing on PS5 against someone playing on PS4, you have a hardware advantage. BHVR did not allow cross-gen play without cross-platform enabled because of that hardware advantage. If you don't like this answer, sorry. It's simply the most likely scenario.
This answer is speculative, and would require a developer to answer in order to be certain, but it is the most likely scenario.
So what about the wardware advantage of a PC to an Xbox1 should Crossplay be on?

Survivors - second chances perks (dead hard, decisive strike, unbreakable, borrowed time).
Killers - generators protection (pgtw, corrupt intervention, ruin, barbecue and chilli).
Aside from DH aren't all of these pay perks as well? I never noticed that before.
-
Ideally all platforms all only use what's in-game to play with, but things like filters, sound cards, resolution settings, and others beside what you mentioned could be seen as unfair for consoles.
All this without mentioning the frame drops, latency, & optimization issues with my poor Xbox1x. But hey that 60fps minimum promised about two years ago is still coming, right?

Then he tells me to think before I comment.
Irony.
Super WOW:)
So what you're saying is, you should be able to do whatever you want and use every advantage you have at your disposal to win, but not killers? Also - explain to me how one "baits" dead hard for distance, which is it's most optimal use? (tip - you can't)
Excuse me while I wipe my ass with your rulebook. Argue with someone you're capable of beating.

Sounds like a boosted survivor who isn't good at the game. Not a single "point" you've made has actually been a point. All you've done is hurl adhom attacks. Try making a counter point other than "nuh uh ur wrong cuz im survivvver main bruh". Until then, I'll sit here, and bathe in your entitled survivor tears.

Let me ask you this, OP - if you spawned into a game, and immediately next to you was the killers Hex totem, are you going to leave it alone and let them keep their devour/ruin/whatever it may be? Are you going to use E-to-outplay Dead Hard to recover from your own mistake at the press of a button?
Honest question.
What the heck is "E-to-outplay" dunno what that means?

You realize this is a pvp game right? Not a co-op, everyone hold hands game.
Its a 4 on 1 game, requiring at least some teamwork to get gens done and a few survs out. The ones who do the best exhibit the finest coop & may even all escape.
-
All Xbox1x's like mine were made unplayable with the insta-overheat problem when the Blight patch came out. So we couldn't play the game for a week until the following patch. And of course no compensation.

I tunnel even if there is an obsession, get the DS out of the way. It's a legitimate strategy and quite effective.
Do you enjoy being tunneled when you play survivor?

@Steel_Eyed said:
I legit don’t understand why survivors wouldn’t bring DS.
Some don't have that DLC or it unlocked. Others do not like the perk's design and won't use it. Some like me play on Xbox1 and the fps make it unreliable to hit the skillcheck, much like being exhausted on the ground with DH.
There can be many reasons.
-
@DoritoHead said:
I play both sides consistently, difference is I'm a rank 1 killer and a rank 14 survivor.
I'm the opposite red rank surv and I peak at 13 or 12 for killer. But playing both sides has made me better at the other role no question.
Love the name btw!
-
Hate all indoor maps, for both roles. Burning offerings all day to avoid them all. It's not just door or pallet or gen placements that offend, although they do suck. It's the horrible fps in them that seals the deal, often into the low teens depending on what is happening or which killer I play or verse.
Entity damnnnnn the indoor maps.
-
I can't see map offerings going away completely, as several killer builds are dependant on getting a certain map. As far as voting, I could only see killers getting the short end of that stick all day, and after four Ormands or Red Forests in a row no-ping right outta this game and in to another.
-
As survivor whenever I get two or three indoor maps in a row I will start using map offerings to try and avoid those maps again, at least for a lil while.
I have never used a map offering as killer, but I don't run builds that are dependant on a certain map either.
With that bias, I wouldn't mind no map offerings at all and let the dice roll. But there's no way killers who do use map-based builds would go for that change.
I'm assuming the reasons for having map offerings is to try new ones as they come out, or return to a favorite. With the strong imbalance of several of them favoring one role over the other it has become "I need this map" or "I hate this map."
-
Sounds like latency with a splish splash of lag. On Xbox1 I've learned to drop them very early because of it. It goes down, but I usually will get hit through it as well.
-
This is currently the same for Xbox as well...
-
This Xbox1 player would appreciate an elaboration of you comment here please.

I have tried it with killer fellow Xboxer......... many a sad face

One side will complain about the aura reading of the stick, while the other side complains about the cooldown of the stick.
Both will argue if the devs ever intended the stick.
-
1-2 but I suck

Off for killin, on for survivin when queue times are long. Xbox1's are still getting that 60 frames some coming decade, right?
-
Could I show you something in the fine catalog of Amanda's Discount Add-ons? Perhaps arrange a trade or two?
I'd say Dorito Head and my lil Piggy could both use some add-on luvinz.

Im pretty sure it can tell when someone dc on purpose cause when a survivor does dc on purpose it makes a noise but when someone dc from network stuff it doesn't make a sound
Huh. Never noticed a sound or not. But I'm pretty sure the devs said from their end they cannot differentiate. But maybe...
-
Ever since the patch after Blight came out my Xbox1x has had similar disconnects and the like, giving me a 5min ban each time which I waited out, plus more common problems with team mates drifting out of groups when I play SWF. So every 3-5 matches I restart the game, and the console of need be, to bandaid it myself. Doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about playing this game all that much longer on my console.
Problem is I believe the devs said they cannot tell the difference between dc's no matter the source/reason, let alone how to fix the network ones.

Totem Easter egg hunt:
35-45 totems per map instead of any gens. Only one contains the key to either door, no hatch or chests, and just one surv can escape. Killer knows which totem has the key, but it moves every 20sec or so until only 5 remain. Killer kills as normal, but no moris.
Massive bp for escapee and killer, maybe shards too. Other victims get decent bp based on length in trial, # of totems, etc.
All numbers negotiable, maybe even on sliders in lobby.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
“Ready to play” only means it has finished downloading the tutorial portion of the game.
Everything else will be locked. This is NORMAL. Don’t panic.
Push the PS home button on your controller, select the downward pointing arrow icon, push cross on whatever pops up to see ALL of your queued up downloads, and check how much longer the remainder of DBD will finish fully downloading.
On Xbox1 when there is an update for DBD it can give that partial "ready to start" as well. I never open the game due to that anymore because it would unequip every character, survs and killers alike.
Meaning all their cosmetics, perks, and items are still there but all are removed and must be re-equipped. On everyone. Most annoying!
-
This still happens too? We should just have a giant master bug list going with dates and stuff, checking off ones as they get patches up, if ever.
-
We need more booping in this hard, sad realm.
Give a hoot and boop that snoot!
-
First as survivor, heck no, but I do recall sucking so much with the skillchecks and getting my team mates killed because of it.
First match as my lil Piggy oh yes I certainly do. Haddonfield against a 4man (they messaged me after saying so) with her perks and nasty ass NOED. I got three hits, one hook, and only defended the street like a noooooob. They cleared the totems before the gens, and I constantly saw all four on a roof ledge facing the street head bobbing in rhythm. Match took like half an hour.
So I was a 20 against a 17, 9, 2, and 1. Used one trap only, dunno when that was removed during the game. I did so poorly they didn't need to even bodyblock or bt or nothing. Maybe I've learned a bit since then.
First match with Myers is fuzzy, but I do remember getting two of em. That was on one of the wreaker yards I believe.

Devotion 3, level 34ish, played before devotion was a thing, something like 1300hrs.

There's several ps4 games I've seen that are doing free upgrades with the ps4 disc. Maneater is one of them and they're from Tripwire which according to wiki only has 87 employees so I don't think it's a Sony thing. Could be that the game just came out in May but they pushed back switch release to focus on making the Next Gen transfers go as smoothly as possible.
Imagine pushing back content coming out to ensure a smooth as possible release to other consoles?
Interesting concept...

So i know you know about the series S/X issue and its nice youre working on it but do we have any sort of ETA or something you can do for those players affected? for example i traded in my old console for a series S which also meant re-buying the game as i use to own it on disc since its console release but because of the issue i cannot play the game at all which means i cant play to earn BP or EXP for the upcoming chapter/rift and ill be away soon for christmas seeing distant family for a few weeks so im not going to finish this rift and owning everything for 4 years and just to miss out because of the issue is going to be pretty gutting tbh... basically can/would you think about giving those players x amount of XP,Rift Fragments,BP`s?
When Blight's patch came out those like me on Xbox1x got the insta-overheat shutdown problem, meaning none of us could play the game for a week until the following patch came out.
No shards, no bloodpoints, no cells, nothing.
-
When I'm in a SWF and matchmaking gives us a newer killer I activly discourage toxic behavior from the group, saying things like "just leave" or "hey obviously a newbie be nice and do gens/totems". Since none in the group I often play with are even decent loopers I doubt a young killer is learning much from us.
But I was that newbie once, and know what not to do to make them feel worse about one or no kills and hitting them with every pallet then the blind and the like. Basically take the foot off the gas a lil. And get tfo at the gates.
Had a new Legion last week, got maybe three hooks that's it, and we all meet at an open gate and make a nice neat pile of out items (two acquired in-game) and walked out, no tping or nothing.
Small things. It can be done people!
-
The killer lobby lock is required for the mmr, according to the devs, so I would not hold my breath for that to return.
-
Whether I play survivor or killer I have a clock in my head sort of. As a surv I can sense we are in a match too long, or the gens are going too slow and I feel it. The need to get them done and get out increases.
Likewise as killer I feel each gen popping or steps taken in a chase like ticks on the clock as well, knowing my window to kill them all is narrowing.
Usually the longer the match goes on it favors the killer, but not always.
-
I wonder if a killer concerned with this version would just camp a hook until second stage to "play around ds" even to the point of throwing the match.
-
An actual use for the charms, like this one you heal .5% faster, that one you recover from stuns .75% quicker, this one over here lets you hook 1% faster. No fantastic number changes, just little bonuses.
They should be tied in to the character, like a trapper's would improve their trap setting time or struggle out of numbers ever so slightly.

No Cross Progression from Xbox1 or from PS4 to a PC yet. The devs know this is wanted but it is not a priority it seems. Imo it is likely being held up with issues with Sony & Microsoft...

First of all great assumption. I've programmed in machine code, assembly code, basic, cobol, fortran, C, C+, C++, Python, Java I've used CLI, I've used DOS 3.0, 3.3, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 6.1 batch file command structures. I've programmed BBS's before the internet was more than ARPANET. You assume much my young padiwan. My first computer was connected to a TV set on a Channel 3 or 4 switch like the old Atari 2600 and 5200 along with the original Nintendo were with a TAPE DRIVE data storage. So the rest of your argument just flew out the window. I know what "Spaghetti Code" is I also know that the DBD code is encrypted and you'd have to have obtained it via a pirate site if you were to get this code. You obviously don't know what Spaghetti Code really is otherwise you'd know that it would not work well at all yet how can my computer that I, my self, built, loaded, programmed and installed everything have DBD crash maybe once every 3 or 6 months and then looking at the crash log I find out it's tied to an error that is in the windows logs for an event that caused the video drivers to stop working? I have built enterprise networks, I have programed professional CISCO routers VIA CLI and remote CLI to create a network properly. Now that my resume is PARTIALLY out there do you wish to retract your statements?
NO? fine here you are: First: if you have no proof that the game is written in a "SPAGHETTI CODE" style you are talking out your ass. stop making claims that your brain can't even cash properly.
Second: The game can tell when someone presses the functionality button "leave match" and differentiate that with a network or other crash. used to be there were "silent" dc's and "audible" DC's. my theory is that audible was a click leave match backed up by empirical testing with a SWF. I never talked about EAC crashing, I never talked about anything but the fact if you CLICK a functionality button in a program, it KNOWS what that button does and transmits that information to the server, THUS they can know if you clicked the button
Third: you tried to make things look all up and up but since i've destroyed your argument about dc's and my age oh yes i've got almost 3K hours since starting play in 2018. I will stop right there as I have to go do something, if you wish me to continue please do reply I will be back.
Impressive coding knowledge. I have a few questions though, from a console pov. I believe the devs have stated they cannot differentiate between a button dc and one causes by network failure, etc. Could that be true, at least for Xbox1?
Ever since the patch after Blight came out (Blight's actual patch caused the dreaded inst-overheat for a week for all Xbox1x's like mine) all Xbox players have had increased ping and dc's from connection issues.
Two broad types occur: one is dc'ing as the game loads; offering screen is seen, all are seen on the map but one cannot move while the other survs can move and begin to interact, all for about 20sec, then all are shown the tally screen and told the match was stopped because a player left while loading in. Very common for all this to happen every 3-5 matches.
The other type is as killer or survivor, and less common: player is last seen running straight into a wall or such, then gone. Obviously a killer getting this ends the game, but a surv getting this is shown as a dc and the rest continue. They are now shown a game error message stating "this game requires an Internet connection" message. I have gotten this while streaming or not, and in a chat party or not, and neither are interrupted at all, so my connection isn't cut.
In either case the dc'ing player gets the penalty every time. How could both of these occur? How could the devs tell them appart from a button dc?
As far as "spagetti coding" I have heard the term but do not understand it. Some of the Fog Whisperers use it maybe it came from there. Also PS4 players here claim connection issues such as these are caused by "memory leak" but again I'm ignorant of what that is too.
Restarting my Xbox every few matches baindaids these both for a while. Thoughts?

I‘ve played many many games in my life and since I‘m playing dbd, I noticed something. While playing other games, I can almost immediately go in to the next match when I finished one. With dbd however, I have to go to the Killer/survivor screen again, ready up again, load into a lobby again, wait for everyone to ready up and so on. Wouldn‘t it be cool to have a ready button in the endgame screen to immediately load into the next lobby?
SWF can do this, although that retire is relatively new to DBD, and even that can be broken up if the killer leaves too quickly after Endgame Collapse is done.
