Why would defending your house and property from trespassers and thieves incur some sort of penalty?

Addendum 3.17 in the Entity Property Charter states "Unauthorized entry to a residential domicile shall render the entrant outside of any other protection under law, and the owner can remove said entrant through means up to and including deadly force".

I've got that pinned to the wall of my Homeowner Myers house. Damned kids keep coming in and messing with my stuff! They even emptied my chest once, but I made them regret that...

lol that's a great one, camping the Myers house as Myers! You could just stalk people through the windows and prepare for your 4 man slug if anyone dares to enter...

Obviously you also got camping the basement as Bubba, and maybe camping the Thompson House as Billy or Bubba.

I feel like the past few days has had this a lot more as well, I didn't know whether it was just my bad luck or a result of something being nerfed or buffed as I haven't paid attention to change logs.

Definitely makes the game boring and unfun, I would have thought for both sides. I feel like there must be some way to disincentivise people doing this that is more than just "the rest of the team complete gens and escape so the killer gets low points anyway" - although 3 may escape, they have also had a boring game just squatting at a gen the whole time.

Would something like for the first X mins of a game or Y number of hooks, a killer is unable to attack for Z number of seconds or something? Sure it's a big survivor buff but it would prevent these boring unfun games.

Nah bro. How about something like for the first X minutes you can't do 5 gens?

  • @Zozzy said:

i want them to get rid of the safety pip so the game puts me where i need to be instead of safety pipping every game till i get red rank solos and demolish them for a 2 pip....

Removal of the safety pip would go a long way to fix this game tbh.

You need to remind yourself that this game is built for survivors to win. Most if not all dbd streamers that win 90% of their matches will agree to this when asked equal skill vs equal skill survivors will hands down win.

They complete 20% of their objective with each gen while a single hook is 8% of yours... and there is 4 of them to 1.

If you are safety pipping against a red rank team it usually means you still win lots of chases and probably get at least 4 hooks or something, so maybe you are where you need to be? You're probably just a few improvements away from finishing chases quicker which has a large impact on the game outcome.

I find that games go from way too easy at green ranks to difficult at purple/red, with very little in between. I think if you weren't safety pipping you'd just be dropping down into baby survivor territory again and absolutely cleaning up games.

  • It's not bannable.

You're doing god's work, my son.

  • Don't feel bad because people are talking smack to you when they win.

These people want to play "baby killers", they play the game to harass people. If you won they'd only accuse you or camping or tunneling. They don't want you to be better, so definitely don't feel bad because you are not "giving them a good game".

I'd recommend you turn chat off tbh and just play the game.

I saw it on Twitch. You actually need to throw 7 knifes for BT to proc.

Pfft, wait 15 seconds it is

  • Also would like to know if his knives tank the BT hit, as it would be way too easy to just knife the BT and then smack 'em.

  • @Mikeadatrix said:

    It's a Deathslinger scenario.

Per example, we all hated "Deathslinger" on the PTB release because it sounded super edgy and tryhard (still does) but it grew on most people, including me. At least with the Trickster, it doesn't sound anywhere near as self-important. It'll grow on ya.

Deathslinger is at least a literal name, he literally slings death. There's nothing tricky about this guy.

  • Tbf you can now face camp more effectively with Blights new POV

  • No, having to go to a locker is enough of an inconvenience for Huntress etc., this would make them unplayable on certain maps where lockers are already few and far between (e.g. Ormond)

  • What you didn't think a new Killer would make the game fun now, did ya?

  • Killer queues are still instant for me and survivor queues taking up to 10 minutes around now, so camping musn't be such a problem.

(I personally haven't been face camped in the past week or so)

Do you actually think it's that hard to hook 4 different survivors? God, I feel bad for you.

Against good survivors? Running no chase perks and no slowdown perks? Yes, yes I do.

  • Yeah obviously everyone using BBQ looks at the floor when they hook or closes their eyes so they can't see the auras.

The information (or lack of) that BBQ gives you is very helpful. I'm well aware the main reason it's used is for bloodpoints, but you are kidding yourself saying it's not useful.

  • @TAG said:

My point is that 4 stacks on this perk is pretty trivial.

Usually in a game you win you will get 4 stacks, for obvious reasons.

For this perk though you need those 4 stacks before all gens are done. Whilst running no slow-down perks and an end-game build.

My point is, it probably is one of those things which looks good on paper, until you go against a good team.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1987830#Comment_1987830

4 unique hooks is just how you get max stacks from BBQ.

Yeah, but that perk also gives you useful information throughout the game, and you don't actually get additional value from unique stacks on it, just bloodpoints.

  • This thread is borderline homophobic that OP is assuming his sexuality from his appearance.

    SMH

  • Agreed, I'd rather see a game mechanic introduced to regress the exit gates to 50%, rather than perks introduced on a Killer which I have to grind to unlock on each Killer, to then find it probably isn't a viable perk anyway.

At least Blight FOV is getting fixed and Wraith has some changes.

  • @Generator said:

    Theres already the hag

    Plague is pretty old too

  • No Way Out requires you to have 4 unique hooks though to get max value, and if you managed to get that with a build with only end-game perks, then you deserve to win tbh

  • Isn't it Steam only?

  • wait wait wait, are you telling us the survivor is not LGBT

  • Yeah I got a bit bored of countless face-camping Bubba games.

So now I'm trying a basement Oni build. Taking the game to exciting new places.

  • Would be interested to know how often this actually happened and they confirmed in chat it was because of your item.

  • I think because of the 4v1 nature of the game it's very easy for survivors to gang up on the Killer.

I was playing a Solo Q game the other day as a survivor, we had a Billy who destroyed us at 4 gens remaining. Someone suicided on their first hook at 5 gens, so it was an obvious loss.

It got to two of us left, I was hooked, Billy was patrolling the area close to me, obviously this game was done, anyway. I got unhooked, had BT, but I just stood at the hook and pointed as I didn't want to prolong any longer. Billy was close by anyway on a nearby hill, and swooped in and killed us both.

In the postgame chat the other survivor immediately kicked off on the Killer with "nice camping".

I told him to shut up as clearly the Billy had just destroyed us, the game was pointless to continue. I said if you want to blame someone, blame our TEAMMATE who suicided on his first hook.

The other survivor said "yeah fair enough", and left.

    The billy then thanked me.

I think the survivor here was angry at a loss, I just found it very interesting he immediately attacks the Killer in the lobby for an action he made in the last 10 seconds of an otherwise very dominant game. As soon as I sided with the Killer, the other survivor backed down straight away.

It just seems almost a default mode for some survivors to assault the Killer in the post game lobby, as soon as I indicated I wasn't going to team up on the Killer, he just totally backed down and left. Was quite odd.

I truly hate hyperbole. The times an entire group of 4 survivors have DH is miniscule at best.

As a Doctor main - I am not affected by DH any more than Lithe for example. As a survivor I have NEVER ran DH in a public lobby (Tested in KYF) because I actually think it is the second worst exhaustion perk (Balanced Landing being the worst imo). I can escape a loop way easier with Lithe than DH any day as a survivor.

As a killer I just bait out DH - and then down the survivor.

I see lobbies with 4 DH all the time at red ranks. I see it even more than DS. Usually at least 2 players will have it.

  • Teabagging, or just generally being bad winners or losers in chat

  • Don't forget NOED

The best solution would be to reward hooking different survivor. The win condition should be still 3-4 kills, but the best way to achieve it should be not tunneling.

So suicide or bad teammates wouldnt affect the killer score.

I don't think survivors should be able to deny you score by suiciding on hook

Pretty bad, and will get hard countered by any kindred users.

There’s no reason to use iron grasp over agitation.

Nobody really falls for insidious basement Bubba anymore.

Why would you use NOED on a killer with a built in 1 shot?

Best build is probably corrupt, pop, bamboozle, monitor.

Without bamboozle good survivor will basically never get chainsawed and can hug jungle gyms / the shack all game.

Regarding NOED: like you said a good survivor won't go down to a chainsaw, so NOED allows you to M1 them into oblivion on any loop. Also the speed boost aint bad.

Also the best part about using NOED is you get people complaining about your NOED even when you get a game you manage to snowball when gens are still up.

    @panernaners said:

    Try this out.

    • Whispers: same reason
    • insidious: same reason
    • iron maiden: so you can still down people who hide in lockers against bubba
    • Agitation: because its the better than iron grasp and waster less time.

Also for some tips don't use your chainsaw so they don't know its bubba and make sure to bring the central building basement offering so you can get to it faster.

I like the way you think. I'll look into these perks, but can't take NOED off, of course.

  • I don't know but it is seriously annoying. I get BM'd and insulted even when I play by the rulebook and give survivors plenty of chances. Then that makes me just want to play a basement Bubba build, if I get flamed either way.

    For a camping Bubba build,

    Corrupt Intervention

    NOED

    Bitter Murmur

And then any other 4th perk (maybe Whispers like you said, or Knockout, Blood Warden, or Insidious)

makes it literally impossible not to 2k unless you are AWFUL at downing survivors.

Corrupt and Whispers will help you secure an early down before too much progress is made on gens, and then Bitter Murmur will help you locate the last survivors once they think they have any hope of leaving. NOED is a must of course.

If you can get your first down within a minute of the game starting, the other survivors will not have enough time to finish all the gens before you can start the hunt for a new camping buddy, and they can kiss goodbye their dreams of cleansing every totem before NOED pops up.

Unfortunately, face camping Bubba with a build like this is viable for getting a decent number of kills LMAOOO

Ah yes I tried Bitter Murmur as well. The 10 second aura goes so well with NOED. Also watching the auras around the map as they pop various gens can provide brief but welcome moments of entertainment as you stare through the basement wall.

This makes me sad to read 😥 Bubba is better than just a simple camper lol

I'm basically a Bubba main and my build is:

    • Corrupt Intervention - Helps you get rid of a few pallets or get at least 2 hooks before a gen is done.
    • BBQ - Points are amazing also the information it provides is extremely good.
    • Pop Goes The Weasil - Big gen regression perk
    • Tinkerer - A 1 hit down killer who can out run sprint Burst can lose his terror radius when a gen is nearly done. Also it has good synergy with PGTW.

You can also swap out any perk for Bamboozle. I only recently removed it but I know how amazing it is on Bubba.

I like your build but I'd make a few minor tweaks, swap Corrupt for Whispers, BBQ for Iron Grasp, PGTW for Insidious, and Tinkerer for NOED.

Bubba can struggle on large maps and certain loops, however there is a basement on every map, so I think this build and strategy is optimal and most consistent.

  • I hate playing against them as they usually just seem to have too good pressure for free.

It seems you don't see many Twins either lately, so I also never really played against them enough to figure out any counter strategies.

I only have 4 more Killers to unlock I believe, Twins included, so I'll probably try them eventually.

  • @Canas said:

The tournament has been pretty bad so far. The killers only seem to camp, no kidding.

  • @Aquamarine said:

Look, a gen is not a player. They don't care if all gens aren't repaired a little bit until one gets finished, you can't ruin a game for a generator.

Stop comparing it with hook tunneling.

Obviously a gen isn't a player but the Killers objective is to defend gens, so if 60% of their objective goes in 2 minutes and there's not a lot they can do it about it (depending on the team, killer, map, etc.), it's not much more fun than being tunneled

  • They're literally devouring your hope

  • @Sluzzy said:

If survs do not do gens as quickly as possible, the killer will killrush by slugging everyone. It's that simple. It's not fun either to see the entire team slugged with 5 gens up and that happens more than the other way.

It's the other way round. Killers are slugging because gens go too quickly to evenly hook everyone.

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

The "main" teaser video usually drops on their YT channel, where the title is usually this (if you take a look at the latest chapters):

Dead by Daylight | Chapter (the chapter's number in Roman numeral, in this case, it would be XIX) Teaser

    Is this really THE teaser?

Well I think we've had at least 3 mini-teasers so far, so I'd say it is safe to assume we'll either get more of those small clues, or a more full reveal at some point.

First off, I'm not a fortnite guy lol. Lets clear that right off the bat. I keep up to date with a lot of gaming news, and caught wind today of new fortnite "skins" Ripley and The Xenomorph from the Alien series. I have no idea how buying the rights to "skins" works, but just wondering if anyone else does...

If Fortnite is allowed rights to these two characters from the series, who is to say DBD, couldn't also obtain rights?

    Link to Proof below.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJGxmVtmByA

    Here's how buying rights works.

You pay money, then you get the rights.

For properties which are valuable, you pay lots of money, because the use of the property will probably bring in lots of outside interest to your property.

Alien is a massive franchise, so the price is high.

Epic Games is rich, and Fortnite is a huge money maker.

just the ones who hate when people call tunneling toxic ig :/

    It's not necessarily toxic though.

I totally get why its a cheap tactic, and isn't fun for the other side, and I try not to rely on it when I sense I'm going against under-ranked, or competitive but non-toxic survivors, but here are some strategies survivors do all the time which are not fun for me, as Killer:

    • bodyblocking the injured person on death hook to the exit gates, giving me a 0K. I get that it's good teamwork, but how is that fun if I've just spent 30 seconds chasing someone, injured them, and then the people who did gens in the meantime double back to deny the last hit (and then probably teabag too)
    • tapping a gen in my face to take a tenth of a second to undo the 3 second damage I made to the gen. Great tactic, makes sense sure, but how is that fun for me? Especially fun after they do my Ruin totem 10 seconds into the game. I mean, did you have to tunnel my totem, why not just make a note of where it is and come back to it once a few gens are done?
    • body blocking a hook when I just struggled to end a chase quickly and 1-2 gens already popped. Great move to extinguish what little pressure I have, but is this making my game more fun?
    • repeatedly returning to the same loop, knowing full well that the particular Killer I am playing is ineffective against that loop

I could go on but already written a few examples so will keep it short.

He kinda suffers the same problem nurse has, extremely good but has to deal with a plethora of annoying bugs that just seem to increase with every new patch.

What bugs particularly? I've noticed he occasionally doesn't slam onto things, but don't really see it too often. I heard he's pretty bad on the swamp but I haven't played too many games on those maps with him yet, I only remember 1, I lost, but the team was putting amazing pressure, it wasn't because I messed up any slams. When they fix his FOV I honestly would happily main him.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I prefer original killers, there's more creativity and freedom. Just a shame that IMHO the last two have been gutter trash.

What!? Blight was 2nd to last right? How is he trash?

  • It's one of the reasons I stopped playing Huntress, one can only take too much teabagging even after you have played by the survivor rulebook with no camping or tunneling.

It's not even the sweaty squads who teabag either, seems a decent portion of survivors just do it at the exit gates just because it's the norm.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1975945#Comment_1975945

There are lots of killers who swap to super sweaty builds if they see a lobby full of medkits, toolboxes or flashlights. Keys aren't the only problem.

Lobby view just encourages toxic sweaty play. You're even a living example of it, bringing Iri Heads when you see a key or bringing Franklins etc. As bm33 said it's better if we just skip the lobby altogether and just jump into the match directly.

Killers may have needed to know the loadout 5 years ago when DBD was definitely more survivor-sided, but it's largely unnecessary today.

Here we go, "sweaty" builds. A team bringing 4 med-kits probably wants to not die. A team bringing loads of toolboxes probably wants to smash gens out quick, or sabotage to destroy the Killers pressure, and win, does that constitute "sweaty" too? If you're a decent player you don't need an item all of the time.

Bringing an item is a definite indicator of wanting to try hard in a match, so I think it's fair the Killer can adjust their build accordingly.

My Iri head comment was largely a joke, I don't even play Huntress that much so I can't even do that for the most part (that's another thing, we are locked into our Killer choice now, it's not like we can change the Killer if we see items). I brought an iri head in response to a key+map once, and felt bad as from the gameplay they seemed to be very casual players, and probably console too as they didn't say anything in chat (after the 4k at 5 gens lol)

  • @Captaincrazy83 said:

No I said the game already has it where you cannot see what the killer is bringing as an add-on so why should he be able to see what we’re bringing. Like I said before I play both sides of the game not just one sided like you JPA. And that’s BS as soon as a killer sees a key that person is tunneled. The killer has enough edge as it is. That’s why it gets boring to play killer. One hit downs gens locked, seeing through walls see people across the map, seeing scratch marks. The fact that you need more is crazy.

I play both sides actually, and lately I've actually been playing more survivor, but thanks for the incorrect assumption.

I already carefully explained to you why seeing the Killer's add-ons is considerably more powerful than seeing the survivors items, and you haven't acknowledged or responded to that message but proceeded to just repeat your original point. Great job!
