It's definitely one of the worst feelings in the game when you are in a very close game, to pull someone off a gen who you hooked 2 minutes ago, when you clearly are not tunneling, and getting slapped in the face with a DS which takes away your momentum and plays a large part in making you lose.
I can't wait to see less DSs in lobbies!

Just watch Dowsey’s vod on twitch where he had to sit in Q for 2 hours on twins due to his absurd 800+ kills with 1 escape MMR rating to then get promptly dumpstered by comp players.
Even the top 1% players in the game can’t win with non-nurse/spirit games verses that.
buffing all killers will even out because people who are good with any killer will always go up in MMR so the rest of us mediocre players will be left with mediocre competition. That’s how MMR works. If bhvr goes through with the MMR, they have got to bring more killers up to par
Lol I was watching his stream for about 40 minutes during that queue. Did he actually lose the game when he finally got one? That's actually quite funny as it must have been his first loss on Twins.
I guess the MMR kind of worked there, despite the ridiculous 2 hour queue...
-
Nah
Face camping is fine in some situations, e.g. all gens are done and you have 0 kills, there's no reason to go to a door, as you lose any pressure and they open the other door.

can we punish killers for hooking a survivor within the first 20 seconds of a game?
What about punishing Killers for doing so well, and hooking survivors so quickly that everyone dies on their first hook? Oh yeah we already do that!

Lately mostly Blight, now I've gotten used to his speed and insane map pressure, I feel like I can't get used to other Killers (what other Killer can be in a survivors face <10 seconds into the match!... well maybe Billy)

I really don’t want Spirit to be S tier anymore, people like you ruin my killer’s reputation.
Not really, if he switches to Spirit and discovers he still needs to actually try to win against good teams with the Spirit, then surely he's earned the right to play spirit just as much as you?
-
Personally I think dead hard is a good idea for a perk, anything that makes the chases more interactive for the survivor, and adds an extra level of skill, is a good thing.
The problem is, loops are already powerful enough, and in the hands of a good player, Dead Hard can really break the game.

They actually did know that I had devour since it had been revealed but I guess that's more on them for not looking for the totems.
I never said they didn't know, I'm saying if they knew earlier they'd have got rid of it. If they found the totem early on, they'd destroy it without hesitation. If they found it after discovering devour, again, they'd destroy it instantly. Would that be toxic? it wouldn't be fun for you, but it's not toxic, they're playing to win, just like you.
Next time someone is toxic about you using devour, just tell them to destroy the totem. Or just say "gg ez"

wonders why this isn't been taken down? no offence when i mention hacking it got took down though no names ec was mentioned and my OP was about why do people feel the need to hack, esp when they are good!
The first thing a company should do when discovering a data breach is letting the data subjects know that their data has been compromised, hence BHVR telling everyone in-game. On top of this, it wouldn't be good form for them to delete posts people make on the forums about it, would almost look like they are covering it up.
-
Those survivors would have destroyed your totem had they known you had devour earlier. It's not toxic for you to make use of it or strategize around it.
The survivor was just salty in the lobby, big surprise.

Well that's scary
A little, but data breaches are pretty commonplace these days, if there is no personal or financial data involved I wouldn't be too worried.

Playing solo survivor is a downgrade tho.
Don't think it's easier than playing killer. You have multiple things you have no control over.
It's considerably less stressful though, and the fact you have no control over many variables makes it ultimately easier to handle/justify any loss.
-
@Orion said:
What makes you say that?
this
-
On the games you win, give hatch occasionally, and if its looking like a total domination (e.g. you have 2 people dead and there's 4 gens left), maybe meme a bit, let them do some gens, and maybe even escape. Perhaps that will help lower your MMR a bit and keep some more manageable games amongst the sweat matches.
-
I find competitive games more fun, i.e. games were both sides are relatively evenly matched.
Hell, I don't even get mad if I lose as Killer and get a 0K if I got 8 hooks, and won lots of chases.
If I lose a game on a busted map to survivors who are lightyears ahead of me, and get 1-3 hooks, I'll probably enjoy that a lot less, especially if the survivors teabag to assert their dominance even more.
Likewise, if I win a game because the survivors I'm playing are completely new, don't know how to loop, and are absolutely massacred at 5 gens, I don't really enjoy those games either.
-
What data was lost? Do BHVR even hold payment information for example, or are the transactions always made through a platform (e.g. Steam, PS Online, Windows Store, etc.)
-
@Sluzzy said:
It is killer sided. There is a lot of deadend areas where it is one way in and no way out. At least it is not like Ormonds where every pallet is a death trap.
How many deadend areas are there, actually? You do know if you run into them, you can take a hit and use the speedboost to get to the next chain of 3 safe pallets right? Unless you are unlucky enough to hit a dead end when already injured. If it happens multiple times, then maybe plan your chases better, I mean it's probably one of the few requiring tasks of being a survivor, to plan a chase effectively.
I think the few dead-ends are outweighed by the 20+ safe pallets on the map you can waste the killers time with.
-
RIP that Rank 18 Dwight, bet he had default cosmetics on too.
You monster.

MMR doesnt work will never work idk why they dont understand this. this game doesnt have the proper amount of players for it neither, so they should just stop with these non sense and put it back to what it was. because is creating a lot of unfun times for everyone.
the thing is they don't need a flawless system, they just need something good enough that is not using the rank system which resets monthly and can get abused by derankers, something that can catch someone like our good friend OP, for example
-
Played three games and got three 4ks, maybe the system thinks I am worse than I am
-
Given that it is only active for 1 day, I think you can safely assume that it has been gathering data to power the new matching algorithm for some period of time up to now, otherwise 1 day is nowhere near enough time for any reasonable system to assess someone's skill, unless everyone played for 24 hours straight.
They've probably just activated the switch which now uses the new matchmaking logic to actually match games, rather than just collect "skill" data which they are not using.

Need I say any more? This build is used in almost every game at the higher ranks due to how simple it makes defending the generators. There's no skill or (real) counterplay to this combo. There is counterplay to BBQ, hiding in lockers, but doing that when repairing a generator just wastes precious time. That means there's more chance the killer will get to the generator before it's repaired and ruin all your hard work and effort for no effort or investment at all.
The killer just hooks a survivor (easy enough) and sees everyone's aura, and then they can go to generators being worked on and instantly get rid of 30-40 or more seconds of a generator repair progression, counting the fact it applies normal regression ON TOP OF the massive gen progress decrease. There's nothing the survivor can do about it. It doesn't even have a cool down, so if someone tries to repair the generator to make up for the unavoidable regression loss, the killer can just do it again with no penalty. It literally punishes you for playing well, and I don't know if that's healthy.
I realise this will probably be seen as a joke or bait by the people of this forum, but I'm being serious. This build is used in almost every high rank game - even the Decisive Strike + Unbreakable combo isn't used that often, yet the BBQ+Pop combo is the one ignored. It reeks of hypocrisy to me. Both combos are uncounterable without literally stopping doing your objective. Killers should face the same stigma for running these brainless combos that survivors are given, and I'm sick of this community giving them a free pass.
Tl;dr: Killers are hypocrites for complaining about good survivor perk combos when they use an overpowered and uncounterable perk combo every game. It's the small PP build for killer.
DS - requires you to get hooked twice
Unbreakable - requires you to lose a chase to the Killer and be downed
...
BBQ+Pop - requires you to win chases and hook survivors continuously to keep providing value
Yeah BBQ + Pop is the small PP build for Killers, sure OP.

Where the reference came in first place is that 'i'll play my way' is reference to 'i'll make others miserable' which is fine, i'm not here to judge on that aspect, but that is edgy and honestly if you were acting edgy as you were, or even more so, it's laughable and cringe. 🤢
You're implying that playing for Kills is the same as playing for other people to be miserable?

It's amazing that people keep saying things like these, that you can just pick him up and 4k at red ranks with no experience he's that easy. Because at one point people considered him strong but fair and nobody considered him insanely overpowered - that rhetoric only started after the stats were released.
Don't believe me?
Here's Otz...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5uUUAz7m1U
Listen to what he says in the intro. (around 7:30) "I'm going to try to play a killer thats strong, thats fair". - After he declines to use nurse or spirit with the best add ons.
Now of course he wants freddy hard nerfed because thats what the viewers like to hear, despite freddy receiving no buffs between this video and the present day
Well if you listen to 13:30 he explains Freddy is a good choice because his add-on works around OoO, and his TR works around BT. Then he says he'd probably play Spirit or Nurse, if he was better with them.
-
Congrats!
My first was the Huntress, and I'm so glad I got it when new to the game and playing in the low ranks where survivors didn't know how to counter the Huntress 😅
-
I recently bought Freddy and I've played two games on him so far.
Both were against entirely red and purple rank teams, and I got a 4K in both. The first game I just ran Blood Warden (which wasn't used), and the 2nd game I ran Blood Warden and Brutal Strength (again BW wasn't used).
So I have to agree he feels pretty damn powerful.
Although I admit 2 games isn't a wide sample, however I have played against him a lot and he feels oppressing to face.
-
I suppose you could just stop playing in a match you feel people are being toxic.
E.g. you get into a first chase, someone drops a pallet and teabags you and begins clicking a flashlight.
You could just go stand in a corner, or just literally leave the computer for a bit. Come back in 5-10 mins they'll have done gens and probably left.
It's sort of a victory as you've wasted their time and refuse to participate in a game if they're going to act like that. It's better than getting riled up, being too frustrated to play, which results in more teabagging, and hence more frustration. It's a vicious cycle and you can bow out of the game to prevent it.
When you are playing with people who are better than you but clearly non-toxic, enjoy being beaten in a courteous manner and learn from your mistakes.

No, none of them are im pretty sure.
These are all just your regular perks from none licensed killers.
This won't be as effective, but definitely fun.
Ghost Face and Bubba are both licensed and you listed perks from them (All Ears and BBQ)
Tinkerer is a fun perk for "messing" with people, its on Billy so no DLCs required. You can catch people unawares sitting on gens. Works best with fast killers like Billy, or Blight.
Insidious is also fun for messing about, camping gens, going for jumpscares, etc.
In fact I have an Oni build for doing exactly that (Tinkerer + Insidious + Dark Devotion + Monitor & Abuse)
-
Otz was playing Twins on his stream yesterday and literally did this.
He was chasing a Nea and I think a Felix, the Nea ran into a corner on a T wall and he immediately trapped her as Charlotte, switched to Victor and took the other player down.
Obviously he intended to immediately down the other survivor as Victor, so the Nea would have been trapped as long as that chase took him.
But where do you draw the line, what if you trap a survivor at the start of the game and keep using Victor to harangue the other survivors?
-
Out of the ones you listed, I think Ghost Face is the most unique and would definitely be a change. Demo is also a lot of fun to play. Same with Oni too.

It’s just so ######### annoying when you get SWF as your teammates as they blame the random for everything. I literally did nothing wrong and even saved them from hooks so I don’t get why they AND the killer worked together to kill me but then all farmed together? It’s people like this that make me want to just be a killer main lmao.
Please stop putting rank 18 and 19 survivors in my lobbies please. 😇
So you're saying you felt like the other survivor and the Killer was ganging up on you? If you don't like the feeling of being ganged up on, err... maybe don't be a Killer main like you're suggesting lol

To me goofing around is much different. Dcing not only penalizes you but effects survivors scores and challenges which I think is a shame (not including their own fun). I agree I totally gave up but it at least doesn't negatively effect others while dcing very much does.
Having games where gens get done in first 5 minutes with noed lasting 10 seconds just is rough but not so bad id dc
If it's a toxic SWF though who cares if it affects their score?

"These survivors are F***ING RAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!"
Demogordon Ramsay, 2021

Sounds like the Killer didn't really need NOED if they already had 3 of you dead.

Okay im fairly new to playing this game but BT is Borrowed Time i guess? but what is WGLF standing for?
Yeah Borrowed Time
WGLF is We're gonna live forever, a David King perk https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/We%27re_Gonna_Live_Forever
-
What is a battery connection?
-
BT: feel I can't save without it
Kindred: best perk in the game for solo information and also complements BT with knowing when to save when the Killer has left a hook (and what direction they leave from)
Dead Hard: cause it's OP as well and can extend a 20 second chase to 50 seconds.
WGLF: My first two perks are based around hooking so I usually get lots of safe unhooks so can get stacks, also the anti-slugging is great

Ok what rank do killers slug at.... because ya I found out after losing 8 ranks. Very fun challenge which I did not enjoy at all. But my point is you're complaining about them giving an easy challenge which reduces the grind of the rift and give bloodpoints. You really want them to force people to change their builds when people don't want to? If you do go ahead do it. There's plenty of challenges that do that in the first place. In fact majority of the challenges this time around are perk based. We don't need more.
If it was repair 6 generators I'd be less bothered. It's just the fact they've recycled the repair generator challenge, required MORE gens, but for the same number of shards. Just makes it obvious these challenges are just there to make people play more games. If it was challenges based on chases (interacting with the Killer), heals, or unhooks, I would be happier. These gen ones just make me want to jump in a game and smash out gens as quickly as possible, cause I got another 5 games and another 10 gens to do.

Ok pick up 2 people from dying state. Explain to me how thats productive and realistic. Also that's one challenge. Its same as a kill 12 survivors gens are what survivors are meant to do
Bro its pick up 2 survivors including yourself. I got that challenge on my 3rd game of trying. It's not too difficult, run Unbreakable and get into a game with a slugging spirit or nurse. WGLF makes it even easier.

Understandable but it punishes the survivors who have no control over a killer not moving
I get that, but they probably should solve the problem of AFK killers by making the game more fun for Killers so AFK killers isn't such a widespread occurence, rather than making the game mechanics senseless
-
I guess it's not really a chase if one party is motionless.
-
@Bradyguy99 said:
Better then impossible challenges which require you to throw the whole game to get a chance to do them
Yeah god forbid any challenge that requires you to experiment with your build, think outside the box, use perks that aren't from the same pool of 6 S-tier perks, or play the game in a way that might risk you don't just smash out gens and get the game finished as quickly as possible.
-
Never spotted that, that's pretty funny
