  • Dcing on first hook doesn't bother me as much as killer, but bothers me much more as survivor.

Dcong on last hook doesn't bother me as survivor, but is super frustrating as killer. Dcong on last hook especially should give players a ban and repeat offenders long bans and if it continues to happen permanently banned imo.

  • I had numerous close calls that I thought Pyramid Head was going to wreck me

Just wanted to put this here. Killers can be just as bad. Me and my daughter (she's 14) go out of our way to be nice. The round before last, she let the killer kill her because she accidently teabagged and felt terrible. This round her internet glitched out and she got disconnected. Again, she felt horrible and asked me to send the killer a message saying sorry for the dc, it wasn't intentional and he played a good game. I did so. He replies back saying she's trash, kill herself, etc then continued for about ten minutes sending me hate messages about how horrible my daughter is. That is just messed up. It is things like this that make people not want to be nice. And if that person is on here and reading this - that is so not cool.

Yeah thats awful. I report people who send stuff like this not because in particularly hurt by it but it's just not healthy having people communicate like that.

Thats explain, as Trapper main without using Gen slowdown. I slap in super end game build so they have the choice between finding totems, or eat Noed,BW.

My ideal of fun for survivors when I play as Killer is not extend Gen time, while not tunnel, camp. So Noed BW is a must to let me have some hook

As for me playing Survivor, deal with Noed is more fun than Ruin, pop

Yeah Trapper is someone I feel makes more sense with noed than some that feels almost too far to me like spirit

  • Kicked gens should regress more from the kick itself and over time honestly. Basekit kicks do very minimal. Hex ruin should not be basekit though

  • I generally try to keep things fun for the opposing side. If I'm a survivor I won't use ds and will rarely use flashlights for example. As killer I won't facecamp, camp, or use noed very often. I still try to win but I don't want to win in such a way that makes the other side not want to play anymore. You can't have a game where no one wants to play one side.

Noed is pretty unbalanced and i play both survivor and killer and unlimited tier 3 myers is no different from noed they both need either a massive nerf or a rework

I just flat out disagree, especially with myers. That's like his whole point to existing and he is considered not even among the strongest killers. He needs buff if anything. Noed has received numerous nerfs and isn't even used much. I played 25 games in a row without anyone using noed (across green, purple, and red ranks).

  • @HuDawg said:

Noed=free win for killer so i want this perk nerfed to the ground hard

Clearly a survivor main. Noed is easy to counter, one of the easiest "strong perks" to counter

  • For me learning her isn't it worth because the amount of time it takes to learn her well enough you could master multiple killers. Id rather be really good with multiple killers than just be good at one personally.

You also should factor in the hugely negative opinion of her by players where once you are effective with her she is more likely to have players dc or suicide than, let's say, a really good wraith player. People get upset since she has the capacity to be the best often times, even if you aren't playing to that level yet.

If someone likes her well enough than should give her a shot though. Id say they should weigh the cost of maining her though.

  • Honestly I view it as a compliment in a sense. If you played very well and he decides to camp he likely assumes you are a big threat to him still being in the game.

Although it's scummy and frustrating to have happen, it does tactfully make sense to take out the biggest threat. He likely didn't think he would get you very easily in the future

Bubbas are the most common campers from my experience as well

probably lots of slugs with 1 hooking deaths, that playstile causes that. the called unfun playstile usually doesnt get rewarded and im fine with that, otherwise the game wouldnt be fun for survivors.

No I don't slug and let people die. The last game I had a 4k and depiped with having 10 hooks (not hook states). Seems like It happened mostly due to downing survivors without chasing (sneak and hit a survivor) so I didn't get the short chase bonuses. Didn't camp either

Regardless of how a killer achieves it, if a killer gets a 4k and stops all gens from being done there isnt a good reason for killers to not pip and I've had plenty of times I've depiped with this with even more safety pips. This is with multiple killers as well (Michael, wraith, freddy, leatherface, and hag). Why should killers "lose" for working efficiently?

Survivors do have a much easier time piping which is why emblems need evaluated. Killers emblems are dependent on survivors unhooking, the killers score for gens very quickly drops (due to gens done fast typically), and if you are using particular killers they aren't designed to fulfill emblems (like hag won't get chase points since it's not how she is designed)

  • For me Its about the same visually but loads better

You do realise the devs have streams where they use comms? SWF is part of the game now and it’s not going anywhere

Yeah they do and that they've kinda embraced as thats just how people play now. It's also much more of an issue if you have teams make builds specific to everyone having all the info.

  • The game isn't designed to have chats because so much that has been out in place only works properly with each survivor having limited knowledge.

BHVR would prevent coms on all platforms if they could but they can't actually do that.

  • Welcome to online gaming.

  • @Eorpwald said:

2 kills = a killer win. The devs themselves have said this themselves.

The problem is how the game scores you thats a loss.

  • Emblems need looked at for sure, especially for killers. I've gotten lots of 4ks and depiped.

  • I havent tried it yet but this one does feel like the one that's most problematic for me

Of [Bad word], I read it wrong. I thought you were on about survivors seeing what hex perks you run lol. I do agree now, hex perk totems should have labels.

Ohhh lol. That makes more sense lol. That would be terrible lol

  • @REL1_C said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234317/please-add-hex-labels-for-killers-on-totems

This is obviously Bait, Labels of hex's really will make this game better *sarcasm*

Not bait. I genuinely thin Katherine labels would give people more reason to use hexs and to use more hexs in each game. I think it would add more variety in builds since killers don't have to hope (as much) rng doesn't screw them.

There are other things that should happen in the game but this is a simple addition thats long overdue. There isn't a good reason for a killer to not know this info beyond "surprises are nice" but I don't think it makes sense to have the single player to not know his belongings against 4 survivors who have largely the same info

  • Alright next game I expect a 4k.... as Ash.

    Where's my boomstick?!?

  • @Toybasher said:

I do find it annoying when I'm running a normal hex perk and Haunted Grounds to protect it. I have no idea which totem is my actual hex and often I end up protecting what turns out to be my Haunted Grounds.

At the very least, I think Haunted Grounds should have a different aura color. Or maybe standing next to a hex totem and looking at it makes the respective perk icon blink as a notification of what totem I am next to.

Yeah That perk in particular just doesn't feel worth it most of the time because of not knowing which is which

  • If you don't care about winning you could run insidious to scare the hell out of survivors

  • Id be into some perks being banned in swf since some are grossly imbalanced with swf.

  • Oops didn't intend for this to be two topics...oh well lol. I made a different one because I didn't think this one would get moved over to suggestions

    How much do you play??

I've done most of the challenges and I'm only at 35 and I play a TON.

I play most days for an hour or so. Pretty much every game I get one piece at least. No idea. I've had a few odd days I play a lot.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2016228#Comment_2016228

Killers can already camp their totem now. You don't need to know which totem is which if you only bring 1 totem into the game.

Also if a killer is camping their totem, they aren't protecting gens so you can just do gens. Ruin and DH do nothing unless the killer is pressuring gens and hooking survivors.

This is just a nonsensical complain to me.

Agreed. If a killer is camping totems they are losing the game. I just view it as it's not reasonable to have survivors not know things about their kit, why put that additional barrier on a killer who is already 4v1.

Adding the info would add more variety in the game honestly. It gets old seeing the same handful of builds in the game and this could add a lot more options where killers can strategies their totems more instead of blindly defending them. Even with issues of devour hope and hex ruin you still can kill totems easily. Hex ruin you can easily power through (I've had plenty of games as survivor and no one bothered with the totem. Got all gens done just fine). Devour is the strongest totem imo but even then isn't that bad. Most of the hexs just aren't good in large because you don't know which is which

What would Oni make of Trickster if they crossed paths lol. Potatoes and dip I reckon.

Even before being a demon lol

  • Hexs are just too weak right now and this would go a long way to improve them. I dont think having a surprise factor as killer, especially with your own kit, is fun exactly. The surprise factor in this instance makes the most sense to be for survivors.

Man so much hate instantly. Jeez calm down yall. Really going for the throat for a minor suggestion. I play both sides with purple/red rank. Having a part of your kit that you don't have info on is totally weird to me especially since survivors don't have anything like this themselves.

I don't run hexs myself in small part due to this but largely because of the spawns and I get more value out of things like pop. I think adding this would make the game more interesting frankly.

  • @Shaped said:

I don't see why not. Survivors could see which totems are killers defending tho. It could lead to some nice mindgames :D.

Yeah I think it would add some much needed depth to the game and to the hex Mechanic specifically

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Can't think of a reason why it shouldn't be, with this you could make some fun stuff with perks like haunted grounds. Love this suggestion

Yeah right now it feels like an unnecessary hindrance to killers. Totems on general have some issues (spawn locations being a big one) but this would both make hex perks more useful and encourage more multi hex builds

  • Id say pyramid head since he was invited to join by the entity and didn't have to submit to the entity. The entity didn't even bother trying to control him because it knew it couldn't control him. Thats some serious power imo. Michael would likely be a close second for similar reasons (although the entity did make him come and the entity has at least tried to control him)

Non licensed I would guess oni. Even before becoming a demon he was super powerful as a human and even then could take on a number of the killers as a human. As a demon (especially beefed up) would crush most of the killers easily.

  • @Mr_K said:

The build that would get you banned?

    No, they patched it.

Lol what was it? That happened while I was gone. Any videos of it? I'd be curious to know why it got people banned and why it was so bad

  • I forget which map but I remember when one of my totems was on one of the hills completely in the open. It was both hilarious and miserable lol.

Hexs/totems are in the top 3 biggest issues needing addressed in the game to me. They just are super underwhelming right now and the rng is like rolling a dice but you need one number to win and the rest are losses.

  • This is primarily why I want chat on consoles:/

  • @Rank_21 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2011390#Comment_2011390

You can't derank past rank 16. I haven't played for months, being a purple rank killer, and went back to rank 16.

I'm not sure how honestly but you can go down to 20. I took a 2 year break where I was in red ranks as both killer and survivor. When I came back I was at 20 for both. No idea what all factors into being able to go that low though. I did feel bad for survivors and killers when I came back though

  • @BeardedScrub said:

Everyone: I agree I need to get better. When I referred to low percentages I was referring to everyone surviving.

I appreciate the feedback. Again if you read the other posts I've made, I've made it clear:

I'm not saying killers are majorly op (though some are). And I'm not saying we need to nerf killers.

My point is that stats show that the game slightly leans to benefit the killer, if you are killing 2.5 to 3 people every match, that actually leans towards killer.

My point is that, though we should balance out things and nerf things, we need to try to do it EVENLY..

One person mentioned that the complainers are a minority. If that's the case, I feel a lot better. I just see a lot of killer complaints in my Google news feed, when in reality I see a high kill rate. My point isn't to say that killers are op.

My point is just too avoid making games easier for killers. Let's balance things out evenly.

I'm coming at this one-sided because I do lean towards survivor. But can we work together for balanced changes rather then wanting to completely nerf the other side?

Honestly I'd attribute a large majority of these stats being weighed by A. Brown and Yellow ranks are two of the most populous groups and B. Killers consistently wreck new survivors because killer is easier to do early on while survivors you get players who are still learning or trolling or just not good teammates. Those less experienced players both being more numerous and killed more frequently heavily skews the data. If you take those out I would wager the average kills would go down a lot

Seperately a 4k isn't a win by the games standards unfortunately. I've depiped plenty of times with 4ks. It's a flaw of the game that needs addressed but as it stands the number of kills doesn't mean a killer wins.

  • It takes forever to get it. Either you or a teammate didn't break line of sight much with him.

A few weeks ago I did Judith tombstone with infinite tier 3 to see how it was. 3 of the survivors were bullying me thinking I just wasn't good at chasing (wasn't even acknowledging I was feeding). Got tier 3 and it got really interesting. Good times.

  • Killer- wraith. With the right addons and perks he can be a major threat

Killer perk- spies from the shadows. Great information perk that few survivors notice. It's helpful finding stealthy survivors and continuing chases as well. Most survivors don't run perks to counter it either

Survivor perk- pebble. It's helped save my teammates a lot who are about to be found. I just kind of follow the killer to waste his time and pull him away from wrecking my team

  • Rubber

Having a telekinetic sentient tire would be interesting

Resident Evil and Alien are at the top of my license list.

Man I love alien a lot but just don't see it happening nor fitting in well. That's kinda why I make a push for predator instead since his gameplay is a lot easier to imagine and he would more likely be in those environments while xenomorphs seem more out of place, gameplay would be weird (it's hard go imagine they would hook survivors since there is no reason to think they care about the entity. Carrying would look weird. I highly doubt they would wall climb and ceiling climb which is a must to me.)

More Survivor Challenges-->There need to be more Survivors by default to have decent Queue times. Those are not a thing currently, however, if There would be the same amount of Challenges (and both queue times would have been roughly the same to begin with), Killer Queues would be really long.

More grindy Challenges-->This community is whiny. Instead of interesting challenges which might require a few games to get done, the Devs went for quite a bunch of easy Challenges which are basically "just play the game". I prefer real Challenges, difficult things done in one game which need multiple trials. But since many people (or a few loud ones..) thought it was too hard, we have more of the grindy ones. Yay.

Honestly having more killer challenges would be better. Queue times improve because there isn't enough players on the opposing side, which is why survivors always takes longer than killer. Killers can instantly find a game because not many people want to be killer. Another thing to consider is that a good portion of people don't care about rifts and a majority of that bunch will be survivor players anyways

    Resident Evil

is that question even needed with how much hate FNAF is getting when suggested? Especially on the forums.

personally i am not against FNAF, but there are many licensed i would choose over it.RE included.

Yeah this is basically how I feel. I could be okay with it if other licenses got in first but also the content of fnaf can be easily copied into an original idea since it lacks any real survivor anyways

  • @apathyinc said:

Walk by a hook that a survivor has been sacrificed on and you will hear their ghastly cries from beyond the grave.

It is frustrating but I kinda love how weird it is. I had a game where I downed 4 survivors near each other. Hooked 3 of them around where I downed them and the last one was impossible to find because of the moans beyond the grave. The last had to bleed out unfortunately but I still found it all amusing

  • The challenges do seem more realistic in this part which is nice. Old ones that expected like 10 gen kicks or pallets breaks were not good. Some still aren't great now but they at least don't force a loss essentially as much.
