Don't hold your breath on an update to Trapper. People have been asking to make his bag add-on base-kit for a long time, everyone knows he is due for an update, but the developers move like molasses when it comes to killer.
-
The suspense is killing me! What did they bring and how did the match turn out???!
-
Survivors refused to do totems and cried about it so much that they got Undying nerfed. Good luck implementing a new secondary objective.
-
I hate Freddy more than others because they type of players his character attracts all usually tunnel. I also hate him because I hate the dreamworld and from how often I see him.
As far as other killers go, it's not so much that I hate them, it's just I am a casual player that plays for fun and am okay with dying, so I just hate being put up against sweatlords who tryhard from the start. But the same goes for when I play killer and get put up against sweaty survivors.
I actually like facing a variety of killers, it's a nice change of pace from seeing Freddy, Freddy, Spirit, Freddy, Billy, Billy, token Clown, over and over. I wish more people played as Demodoggy and Doctor.
-
Yes as long as the killer doesn't force you to do so. Some people hate it so the killer should let them rush gens or hook them if they point to a hook. Farming is really nice when the devs become sadistic and give us terrible rift challenges.
If you're looking to make blood points, it would be best to just get BBQ+Chili and farm them with a killer. It's much faster than farming will ever be.
-
Yes, I am addicted.
It's not as bad as we make it out to be, it's just frustrating how slow the developers move.
Matchmaking is my biggest issue and I really don't think it will get fixed. Sure in the beginning it can be good, but if there is still a lack of killer players to be matched with red rank swf, the devs will break it in order to get them a killer.
So now, I am just biding my time until something else catches my fancy. If I could break free of WoW, I can break free of this.
-
No, sorry, I am not morally obligated to play killer. I loved playing killer when I first started playing the game but because the devs cater to red rank swf bully squads, I kept getting matched against them over and over due to their broken matchmaking and lack of killers. I have switched to solo survivor with a sprinkling of killer (1-2 matches a week) for the foreseeable future until the developers show the same amount of concern for killer players enjoyment as they do survivor players. As things are now, it is evident they care more survivors, which is understandable since they're the money makers, just unfortunate.
Please note, I am not saying they don't care about killer players, I am just saying they don't care enough, otherwise they would have never released the trash known as The Twins nor would they have nerfed moris before keys. Yes, moris needed the nerf, but there was no need to rush it out, but they did, and now I see 1 key in every other lobby. I don't think killers enjoy having to purchase Bubba in order to get rid of the key with Franklins nor would most enjoy tunneling the key holder over and over in match after match.
-
I played dbd from around 2PM until about 7:30PM and haven't had one camper. I play the same hours almost everyday except weekends, where I don't play much at all. In a week, I may get camped at most, 2-3 times. Either you have really bad luck, looped the killer long enough for multiple gens to pop or were toxic enough to warrant a camp.
If you just have bad luck, sorry, that's just how it is some times. If you looped the killer long enough for multiple gens to pop, congratulations, you played the game and did better than the killer. If your team does what they're supposed to, they should have plenty of time to finish the remaining gens and leave while you're getting camped, which is punishment enough for the killer. If more survivors would just stop feeding into a camping killers strategy, less and less would do it. I tried it once with my doctor, where I camped the first person I downed and it was just totally boring and am discouraged from doing it again.
If you were toxic, you deserve the camp. I'm not saying you were, but it's usually the number one reason anyone camps, that or the killer is just trolling.
The best thing anyone can do about camping is to learn how to loop the killer for as long as possible. With how fast gens pop, it's very easy for a good survivor to loop the killer for 3 gens. Once you get downed and camped, two gens should fly by and someone can either rescue you with BT or the remaining 3 people could just leave and punish the killer with the lack of points gained.
If you're bad at looping, then that's all you. You have the option of playing stealthily and not getting caught or learn to loop better. The player behind the killer is under no obligation to make it easier for you or to provide you with a fun match. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at try hard survivors who took advantage of everything the devs have tried to implement to prevent or discourage camping. As a result, the devs didn't implement anything other than a lack of blood points for the killer.

Whenever I play killer and I've snowballed a team into last winter, and the final survivor does a little crouch dance in front of me, my killer heart melts and I can't bring myself to murder them anymore. I always let them go for the hatch or an exit gate. They just look so innocent and defenseless 🤗
I had a game the other day where one person suicided and the other dc'd. A cute pink bunny Feng crouched for mercy and offered me her flashlight and did the rapid little tippy toe animation that only console players can do (I wish I could do it on PC). When I saw those tiny feet dance my heart melted and I just let them bop me on the head with as many pallets as they wanted and blind me to their hearts content.

He truly, genuinely doesn’t need map mobility. Once someone learns how to use Clown properly, chases are ended so quickly that this alone pressures other survivors a LOT. He can be a snowball monster just like Nurse, Billy, Oni, or Bubba.
Honestly, once these Clown changes go live, and more players get interested in using him, and getting better at him, Clown is going to be complained about a lot.
But I wanna see Clown go Zoom Zoom.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/219740/clowns-rework-hasnt-really-fixed-his-problem
They were never intended for map mobility.
Clown derives his pressure from quickly ending one chase after the other, so they wanted to make his anti loop even more dangerous, as currently there is still the occasional loop that can cause Clown problems, sometimes if 2 tonics are used.
They couldn’t simply buff Hindered, as that would also affect Freddy & add ons that inflict Hindered.
But with an additional bottle that causes a speed boost, this gets around the issue of Hindered sometimes not slowing survivors enough at certain loops because of the spacing between Clown and the Survivor, and somewhere safe the survivor can reach. Now at those loops that would usually require 2 tonics, but would still be 50/50 whether a survivor still reaches a pallet or vault, Clown can now substitute one of those Tonic placements for an Antidote. The idea is that Clown should be passing through an activated Antidote closely to the moment a survivor is slowed down by a Tonic.
I am not a Clown main so I know my suggestion may be worse than what they have done, but I feel like it would have been more interesting if they gave clown the speed boost from the recent event that the vial add-on gave. His chase is good enough as is, he just needed some map pressure and seeing the clown zoom in straight lines would be greatly amusing and terrifying at the same time.
-
I had a nurse show me mercy today. She tunneled a key holder who was somewhat toxic and when it came to my turn, I just crouched and did a little dance and offered her my purple toolbox. She nodded at me, motioned for me to follow her and led me to the dropped key and then proceeded to kill everyone else. I attempted to save one other person but she shook her head and I listened and went away, I wasn't going to push my luck.
She confirmed that she liked my dance and thought my Claudette was cute.
-
Trapper was a lot of fun before generators weren't completed as fast as they are now. I still love him, but it just hurts to play him these days unless I go all out - which I don't want to do.
So know, if I dip my toes into the killer waters, its usually Doctor because I love making everyone scream over and over.
-
I would just dodge if I see a key or more than one tool box. In my experience, more than one tool box during the evening means swf with two brand new parts. If they want to rush and have as fast a match as possible, that's fine. I rather not sweat and allow another killer take my spot would would be more than happy to oblige them.

Camping you just stand there and do nothing
Tunneling you're just singling out one person
Transition to scared to play the game
Camping is playing the game, Tunneling is playing the game, it may not be how you want the killer to play, but you don't have the right to dictate how other players play the game, the devs do.
I don't like it when I get camped or tunneled, but I am not going to get angry at the player, I will be upset with the devs and just move on to the next match. When I get tired of it to the point I can't take it anymore, I'll just switch to another game.

😂😂
They are just as legit as running around the same structure three times then using multiple second chance perks in order to make up for your mistakes over and over.
-
If we get a fortnite character we better get Barney the Dinosaur next.
-
Always check the main building and shack before anywhere else. If you're down to 3 survivors and 1 gen, keep an eye out for it while traversing the match. If its on the swamp, don't rule out the outer perimeter along the wall. As others have said, listen carefully for the sound.
Best thing is to give one of the offerings, but then the killer would know where to look. The offering with a key is good, but get ready to get tunneled and/or camped.
-
If you need someone to convince you to play a game, then the game is just not for you. You just have fond memories that you want to relive but will not be able to. It's probably best you break all ties from the game, which includes social media and the forums and move on to another game just so you could break the addiction.
I went through the same with World of Warcraft and ended up breaking all ties to it and now I no longer have the desire to go back. You just have to come to the truth that it is time to move on.

Spine Chill is a must have for me since it helps me avoid getting caught by most killers. It is amazing in solo, you position yourself facing the direction that the killer must come from, wait for it to light up and sneak towards them using cover to hide yourself. I have caused many Spirits who use their power to come to the gen I was working on to waste their time looking behind trees, rocks and in lockers wondering where I went, not expecting that I was walking towards them and not away.
Plunderers is also another less used perk that I take with me all the time. The tool boxes you get really help in Solo since no one seems to pay attention to gen location and always get us 3-genned. It is also really nice to have since you get green med kits, keys and maps very often from it. I have been having lots of console teammates leave me behind even after busting my butt to rescue and heal them or lead the killer to the other side of the map to help them reset and heal. So now when I get a key from Plunderers, I am out as soon as I see the hatch.
If you're good at looping, Sprint Burst is a solid perk. Just be aware of where pallets are and get a head start to them when someone like bubba or billy comes with their insta-down.
Unbreakable is another solid perk since killers are slugging more frequently.
If you are really good at looping and are also really good at being aware of your surroundings, Iron Will is a good alternative to Spine Chill. It will help you lose killers more often.
-
I don't know about a nerf, but I saw Otz playing as Cheryl and didn't like how stiff and upright her back was. I hope they make it look a bit more natural and more like the survivor is trying to sneak around while walking.

This is such a huge problem when trying to discuss game balance. It's impossible to balance a game when matchmaking is so borked, and everyone feels like everything they face is unfair because they're being put in matches with other players who are nowhere near the same skill level.
I would say that matchmaking is 80 percent of this games problem. Both survivors and killers wouldn't be anywhere near as frustrated if the devs would fix matchmaking and rankings while changing some of the core gameplay (like teleporting hooked survivors if there are more than 2 gens still up).

I remember having a nurse with infectious and just slugging everyone despite all of us being on different parts of the map. You know the killer can slug and go after others and slug even if the survivors aren't grouped up right?
It just means that the Nurse was way better than your team and shouldn't have ever been matched against you. It's not a slugging problem, its a matchmaking problem.

Good bye, may you find a more entertaining game.

The issue arrises when all 4 players who don't have unbreakable are laying on the ground. Theres nothing wrong with a Killer simply winning. Its when the killer leaves everyone to bleed out
That is a non issue since it hardly ever happens. I play every day, more than 4 hours a day and I don't even remember when a killer has done so. Now, if you crawl away and the killer can't find you, then that's your fault.

Lol the thing is I never tbag or flashlight spam I thought about it but since I have also played killer and it's kinda annoying so I don't do it. I play on box, ps4, and switch so it might just be that. Even though it's cross-platform I get a lot of bubbas and ghost faces.
I never t-bag unless the killer is camping at 5 gens and I'm trying to get him to chase me to give the poor soul on the hook a chance. Same with flashlight clicking.
I did meme around with a huntress the other day. Every time she missed a throw, I'd click my flashlight. She caught on and played along for a bit. It's nice when they show that they're chill for a change.
Also, to get some use out of a flashlight, right before I know I am going to die, I put on a light show, flashing the light in all directions. Some killers seem to enjoy the slow and leave me slugged or give me hatch.
-
It is entirely your teams fault when you all get slugged. There is no need for a new counter to slugging, there are plenty already available. The easiest counter is to spread out and not work on the same gen.
Stop being upset at killers who play well, be upset at yourself that you screwed up. Be upset at yourself that you were unable to loop the killer long enough to allow your teammates to reset. Stop asking for the devs to dumb the game down even more so than they already have.

Eh, the killers that camp the most are by far Wraith and Leatherface.
Hag, if you count her power being proxy camping.
You know, I forgot about Wraith due to not seeing him as often as I used to and yea, you're right, he is usually a campy killer.
-
@HarlowXRaven said:
Lol, I'm surprised nobody said, Bubba.
I don't see that many Bubba's who camp. If a Bubba decides to camp, it's usually against someone who they perceive was being toxic, such as a flashlight clicker or someone who sabotaged a hook in his face. Only other instance I've seen him camp is if he got someone in the basement or gens have flown by and they have no choice but to camp.
For me, I have found the most campy killers I face are the Twins (thankfully I only see them once out of 100 matches), most Hags and lots of Huntress's who like to proxy camp.
Contrary to what the forums want you to believe, I don't see an overabundance of camping, but I do see tunneling almost every other match.

Map and key is one thing, but why do people dodge when they see a lot of medkits or tool boxes?
I see a team stacked with just medkits or toolboxes I bring my good friend Franklin and start slapping everyone. Even at times if I see a key or map I'll just play with Franklin. Few things bring me more delight than sticking it to someone who burned a white ward.
I don't have Franklin's and I hate it when I am about to hook someone and a little turd decides to sabo before I could. Also, despite what people on here say, tool boxes still help speed up the game. They just don't allow you to do the whole gen. I find them all the time in chests and save them for the last two gens. They can make the difference between finishing a gen before the killer gets to me or not. Paired with Spine Chill, which I always run, it really gives a nice boost, it's great to have during solo play.

You always lose addons when you enter a trail as killer. If you still have copies of the addon used, they'll still be equipped for the next trial. For some reason, Trapper has to re-equip his addons after each trial even if he has more commons of the addons he used.
So basically, the game has been re-equipping my red add-ons for me on my Doctor, letting me think that I'm still using the original ones? Oh wow, I never noticed.
Thanks for the explanation.

I think you’ll find that many killers aren’t dodging, they’re simply not bothering to log on during those peak periods. I’d rather play survivor, despite the long queue times.
Sometimes it’s not a case of not knowing how to deal with strong survivors, simply that there’s no fun to be had whether a win or loss is achieved. Nobody logs on to play a video game for a miserable and stressful experience. There needs to be SOME fun.
This is what I came in here to say. I don't blame any killer for dodging or simply not playing during peak times. I used to play 60/40 survivor/killer but thats down to 95/5 survivor/killer now. The constant trolling, mismatched ranks and the feeling like I can't do anything just got to me.
And no, I don't want to get better by constantly getting matched against better players, i just want to have fun.

I have I have a question. Isn't it better to run haunted ground instead of undying? At least it gives you 60 precious seconds, undying what does it give you?
I'd rather run Devour. If you get fortunate with the totems spawn location, and trap it with a bloody coiled trap, it is usually too late when survivors find it.
Haunted grounds is good for someone who can down fast like Spirit, Billy and Nurse.
-
Matchmaking is the reason why you should only play Spirit or Freddy (Until his upcoming Nerf). Always equip strong add-ons and perks and you'll have somewhat of a chance against more seasoned survivors.
Play a weaker killer and you'll get screwed unless you're a pro killer and know all the ins and outs of playing killer and have mastered your favorite one.
-
Undying will be good on Trapper with Devour Hope. Now instead of Devour getting cleansed at the start of the match due to it almost always being out in the open, Undying will be cleansed first.
Trapper with Bloody Coil and Devour Hope will be making lots of survivors miserable.
And yes, NOED will make a resurgence as well as the daily "nerf noed" forum posts.

Wraith is nice but not enough. His add-on reliance hasn't been addressed, so they addressed 1 glaring issue while ignoring the rest.
Trapper was more of a simplification than a buff but still nice for Trapper mains out there. Now, if they made brown bag base....
You're supposed to ask for purple bag so they can give us brown bag and tell us they listened to our request.
-
I don't think any sensible killer would disagree with Undying needing to be changed. I think killers in general just get frustrated that anything that is deemed powerful gets looked at and changed much faster than anything on the survivors side. Dev's had time to nerf mori's into the ground (justified, but it really should be base-kit and no longer an offering) and they had time to change Undying, yet killers have been complaining about how survivors abuse DS for over a year and all they get is silence from the devs and belittlement from survivors.
It's hard not to agree that the devs prioritize the fun of survivors more than killers.
