"The game is filled with dumb mechanics, but Trapper trapping the gates isn't one of them."

Um... yes it is actually. Why is Trapper allowed to do this while Twins are not (especially when it's stronger for him)? No one has explained this yet.

Hence why I asked for him to be BUFFED and then this removed because it's a stupid outdated feature.

You can't compare the Trappers power to the Twins power, they are fundamentally different. All the twins have to do is run Whispers and they will have the same effect as Trappers traps. You park the sister at one exit gate while victor is at the other, now the player is notified which gate you're at.

How different is what Trapper can do versus what Spirit, Nurse, and Hillbilly can do? If they run Whispers, they will get the same effect. All they have to do is use their abilities to zip between the two doors and watch for Whispers and bam, you have no chance to escape.

You're forgetting that the Trapper has to take time away from chasing you and your teammates in order to collect the traps and to walk to the gates and trap the levers. You also have the option to ignore the hatch and wait by a gate the moment your last teammate gets downed. You then work on the gate as long as you safely can and sneak away before Trapper traps it. You also have perks to help you progress the opening faster. There are ways around it, it may be difficult, but it can still be done.

  • I find that it's more fun in small doses. I play 2-3 matches a week and I have no complaints. I avoid Friday and Saturday nights as killer at all costs, too many swfs who focus on trying to bully me rather than playing normally. Devs refuse to balance around them, I refuse to play them.

By earned his 4k you mean got a 3k and was just handed the 4th because of dumb mechanics? Because that's what this is. What if you had 3 bad survivors, you're saying no matter how good you are you should die because they all died? Literally no chance to escape. Yea sounds totally fair.

Survivor is a team role with the option of playing selfishly. As a result, your teammates performance will affect you. You playing well doesn't entitle you to an escape. You just get a chance to escape, which diminishes the more terribly your teammates perform.

The game is filled with dumb mechanics, but Trapper trapping the gates isn't one of them. Lots of things aren't fair, such as the hatch mechanic. Killer can play perfectly and still only 3k due to the survivor getting lucky and finding the hatch first. Heck, the killer can play decently and still lose 3 survivors due to a key.

Both sides have ways to cheat the other out of a victory, if you have a problem with one, then you should have a problem with the other.

Trapper trapping gates is a non-issue. It adds variety to a very stagnant game.

You earn NOED's effect by playing with three perks during the beginning and middle of the match.

If the Survivors do gens too fast for you and you get them, it's their fault; they had time to do totems.

If you keep so much pressure on that they don't have time to do totems, you're still earning it.

If the Survivors try to unhook someone while exposed by NOED, that is also their fault.

Ordinarily, a Killer shouldn't get more than one kill from NOED.

So can I take this to mean the devs have no plans to change this perk anytime soon? If so, thank you. I know it sucks for a lot of people, but I love it when activates against a good killer while I have good teammates. It just makes the game more thrilling and forces me to make a decision, do I save and risk dying or no? Yes if teammate was good, no if they were a turd.

And when you are the last survivor?

He basically gets a guaranteed 4k'd if he closes hatch and puts a trap at each gate. Like dude. Twins were explicitly denied the ability to block an exit gate and they can only actually block one. Trapper can block both, so what if you can disarm it he knows you are there, he just resets it and looks for you. Either he finds you or you die to EGC.

It's dumb. And it's also super effective with 2 survivors. All he needs to do is slug if the other trap goes off.

Tell me one reason why he should be allowed to completely block the switch.

I would say if you're the last survivor and the Trapper played well, while also finding the hatch first, then Trapper has earned his 4k if he thought to trap the doors ahead of time while applying enough pressure to kill 3 people.

Trapping the doors are a non issue.

  • This will be my year if I could just win the 401 million jackpot tonight.

I love that idea! Would you mind posting a thread about that idea? It would be sort of weather presets.

I would but I suspect the mods would just move it to the suggestions/feedback section for it to die and disappear.

Killers tryhard because they figure it's SWF actually they can't tell right.

Specially online streamers vs soloq tryhard too because you have to keep your audience.

Offline is another scene: tunnel, camp etc.

I don't blame killers. They have no way to tell if it's a swf sweat squad until after they've played for a bit. If they start of casually, they risk survivors rushing gens. Weaker killers like wraith, trapper, clown and demodoggy have to play hard from the start. A killer mistake is 5 times more punishing than a survivors mistake. Heck one killer mistake can cause them the whole match.

Don't blame the killer, blame the devs who refuse to make the game better for solo.

If we start asking "why" anything with BHVR we'll be here all day.

The whole game is like building a brick house on a thinly frozen lake.

Yes, brick house that's held with Elmer's Glue.

Are you bad at looping? Claudette.

I may not loop well, but good luck catching me if i just ######### disappear around a corner

I am, and forever will be, bad at looping, but take your eyes off of me for 3 seconds and I will disappear. I lost count how many times I have abused the killers POV and was able to sneak away. Except for Spirits, I hate them. I did learn how to not get spotted by them and make them waste time looking for me when they come to my gen.

  • Instead of 5 different versions of the same map that really doesn't change much, I'd rather each realm have the same map in different states. Think of Freddy's map. We should have the basic one with the school taking place at night. A second version that is in the day during the winter where the streets are frozen over and you can risk slipping and sliding out of control (this would affect the killer as well).

The Yamaoka Estates alternate version could be a spring time at sunset that has parts that have been flooded, where wading through the water slows you down. Heck, the basement could be flooded and become even more dangerous if you get hooked there. There can be items that are found on the map that give you a temporary boost to move through the water like a one time use flippers.

The alternate version of the doctors map could be one where the treatment center has been through an earth quake. Part of the building would be in disrepair and there would be a huge crack that will divide the map with walk ways that take you over the chasm. Lighting will dance around, striking different parts of the map, giving a loud crack that will scare the crap out of survivors and killers.

More scalable objects, one time use vehicles - imagine a legion getting zooming across the map in a stolen school bus. If a survivor gets caught in it's path, they'll be put in the dying state. The killer wouldn't be able to stop until they make it to the end of its preset route. Once it's used it becomes a tile to loop around.

I'd like them to do something with powered gens, like allowing them to recharge med kits and flashlights.

The devs can do a lot, they just have to be willing to take some risks while at the same time be willing to back track after trying something and seeing it doesn't work.

  • Freddy. His nerf can't come soon enough. I hope they take away the automatic dream world and require him to manually put us in it, while also adding an extra active clock on the map so I don't have to run all across the world.

He just has so much going for him and he seems to attract the sleaziest players.

jane because she’s the best looking female survivor

Jane needs a sequin dress. I'll buy her in a heart beat if they giver her one and it's actually reflective/sparkly.

  • Depends on your play style.

Are you good at looping? Anyone you like.

Are you bad at looping? Claudette.

Are you great at looping? Claudette in bright clothes.

Do you hate your ear drums? Elodie

Want a good looking male character? Felix.

Want to scare the killer? Quentin.

As far as cosmetics go, Dwight has some interesting ones, he also gets special attention during holidays (He has a christmas present cosmetic as well as an elf one).

I went through all of the survivor cosmetics and I have to say I was disappointed. Too many recolors and not much originality. I mean they are designed well, they just don't "wow" me for the most part. I wish they'd hire me, I'd give them some nice designs.

  • They just found you attractive and it's the only way for them to touch you.

  • No, it's not douchey, just don't hate the killer if they choose to remove you from the match. Both are just very annoying. If I suffered through a chase, downed someone and got them to a hook, only to have it destroyed when I get to it, I will remove the saboteur from the match asap.

Blinding is annoying, but manageable. Just don't be super clicky or tbag and you should be fine.

When I play survivor, I just randomly flash my flashlight all over the place before the killer downs me. I don't do it to be toxic, just fun and have a change of pace in the match. I had some killers laugh and give me hatch when I do because they appreciated the show.

  • Survivors are another breed of weird. I had someone suicide on hook because they saw me cleansing a totem and took that to mean I wasn't going to work on gens.

I originally wanted "Victors_mom_has_got_it_going_on" but it was too long 😭

It sounds worse than it is. I wouldn't say it's painful, just uncomfortable and have to accept the fact that I'll never be great at modern video games. I'm okay with that, I just play for fun. I do feel bad sometimes, because I know if I was better the players matched with me would have a better chance, but I don't dwell on it. It's not like dbd has any bearing on our lives.

I don't think it would be good. It would be another indoor map and all the indoor maps are terrible for killer and survivor.

I don't mind the Doctors map. It's not as confusing as the hell hole that is Midwich.

  • Looping. Unfortunately, I have reached the ceiling for me. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and can't last too long in chases and it's near impossible for me to look back while running. So I have resorted to being a helpful bush instead.

  • If they do release a Resident Evil Chapter, I want that hunky Latin cop named Carlos Oliveira with a shirtless cosmetic or I will riot.

It would be nice if the shopping center and cashier in the trailer were in the game. Imaging if Ghost Face could climb up on the shelves too!

  • If they somehow take away their super camping potential, I'd be okay with this. I just don't see that happening.

For me, the big “UGH” comes when they slug for 4K. And then re-slug. At that point I just drop controller (PS4) and grab phone.

I can't hate the killer for this. I agree it's an ugh moment when it happens, but the fault is on the devs for not willing to take risks and changing some of the core game play. If a killer did well and outplayed the survivors, they deserve the 4k.

It becomes a big "ugh" moment if the killer was just toxic and sweaty from the start. Then I become a bush and make the game take as long as possible. I won't go for the rescue and make sure I'm near a locker. I rather wait for the bleed out timer to finish and die to the entity than let a sweaty tunneling freddy or spirit get me.

  • Claudette. Killer can't kill what they cant see.

  • Why can't I ever find things like this when I play. Every time I get in a chase, there are no pallets or vaults for miles ;_;

Every bubba in the entire history of dbd from when he first landed on ptb has been an absolute, complete and utter sweaty sack of crutch meat so I wouldn't feel too bad. It's not like your breaking a trend here or anything.

I disagree. Yes, I've had several Bubbi Bois resort to face camping or meme in the basement and protect their juicy chest, but I have faced many and I mean many honorable Bubbas who where forces to be reckoned with, perfectly mind gaming on loops, never tunneling or camping. I have seen many of them return to the hook when I get saved only to go for my rescuer and if they don't find them, they leave me slugged rather than hooking me.

The only Bubbies I fear are the ones who wear Claudettes face. I main Claudette because she's the best, but when I see one of those dark faced Bubbies, I know they're going to do their best to chop me up.

  • A good Freddy of Legion. Doctor is a close third if he gets the three gens and has the right perks and addons.

  • I just sneak around until I find one while cursing the map with every breath I take.

Now that I think about it, Mr Cowboy is very rare too. So are the Gremlin Twins.

  • I can confirm, Demodoggies always provide fun matches. I have only seen them tunnel toxic survivors. Otherwise, they play very well.

    • The match begins, and after a few seconds the killer has already found me. Happens all the time, my luck is notoriously bad
    • Getting unhooked right in front of the killer, downed, then failing DS skill check and getting hooked again.
    • Slow hook rescues --> second stage
    • Team mates hiding in bushes when someone is in chase.
    • Having to leave an almost completed gen when Ruin is still up
    • Facing Plague. Just hate that constant vomiting

Man, I hate when the match starts, and I'm urban evading (yes, I'm bad, but I still do my best) and I urban evade right into Ghost Face's arms. Did it against a Demodoggy the other day cause I couldn't tell what direction he was coming from, when we were face to face, he just looked at me, I nodded my head at him and he was nice and let me go.

    I always just leave.

I hate the tbag at the gate culture in this game. It’s disrespectful and ugly. So because I know how tilting it is when I’m killer, I just leave when I’m survivor.

Plus, like you said, you just don’t know if the killer has NOED or any other last second tricks up their sleeve.

I leave unless my teammate was good throughout the match and got hooked. I'll risk trying to save them, even if I die.

If I have an item, I'll wait if the killer is near and place my item on the ground in front of him as a gesture of good will.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

In response to @Huge_Bush post “What makes you go Ugh”, thought I’d also get the community sharing moments that make them feel amazing.

For me, without fail, it’s always interrupting a hook save with a perfectly timed bottle toss on a survivor that’s led me back to a hooked survivor during a chase, and then subsequently downing them or grabbing them mid save after they’ve recovered from the direct bottle hit.

I squeal with joy when the killer kills a survivor who tunnels gens and lets me get to second stage.

It's always funny watching a teammate tbagging at the exit gate, only to get downed due to noed and hooked because they just weren't close enough to the exit line.

  • @rats00 said:

These two are top 5 material. So frustrating to face. When I have teams like this, I just fade into the shadows and disappear.

  • Bad teammates who refuse to use easy counters make this game terrible.

  • I haven't seen a single Spirit or Freddy today. Today has been a good day.
