  • Play however you see fit, you don't need anyone's approval. I personally hate it when I am camped at 5 gens, whereas I have no problem with it at 2 gens or less. But that isn't your problem to worry about. It's not as if the survivors ever consider if you're having fun when they loop you all over the map.

If you have more than one person in the basement, it is more strategic to camp.

Ghostface power isn't stalking. It's forcing survivors to break their controllers/keys by making them look left to right really fast when on any generator.

The continuous pressure by doing this eventually damages your controller/key and makes you spend money to replace it.

    Not if you run SpineChill.

Pigs power isn't her reverse bear traps, its her irresistible snoot of doom that causes surivivors to abandon everything just to feel it's beautiful majesty.

    Because it's easy to do.

It's like face camping as bubba, he is the BEST at it.

Pig is the best at tunneling a survivor of all the killers in the game.

So when people want to be toxic, they tend to pick one of those killers for that specific reason.

I would say Spirit, Nurse and Freddy are the best at tunneling. But then again, they're good at everything.

  • I wanted to come in here and say it isn't that bad, but when I think about it, it really, really is. Do what I do and run plunderers for the chance to get a key and leave your potato teammates if you have to.

  • To instill panic upon the survivors? Two of the clown cosmetics cause me to do a double take and avoid him at all costs. The purple one that is already posted in this thread Skarkio and the blighted one.

  • SWF is not the problem. The problem is the stubborn developers who refuse to change core mechanics to make the game better for everyone. They need to bring up solo closer to swf and balance killers around high level play and stop band-aiding the issues of this game with perks.

It's just more like.... It's tiring seeing them take something that could be great, and somehow making it just....not a great experience. It's like their signature move.

Everything BHVR does, even when it's meant to be something good; is always done in a way that leaves a lot of people feeling like crap. It's what they are good at.

It's because they're not doing it to make the fans happy, their motive is to get people hooked on their social media and streamers and God knows what else. I miss the days where the main goals of gaming companies is to make games as much fun as possible, with profits taking a back seat.

  • They're saving the lake map for when they can get the license for Jason. I hope they do it right and they have a daytime and night time version.

Just to clarify good killers will punish mistakes. So if you give them a good reason to do those things especially the slugging then they will do it. If I down someone or see someone else/have infectious. I will chase them. Unless it's not in my benefit.

I don't have a problem with killers punishing mistakes, especially if it is against good players. But if it is obvious that you're going against potatoes, there is no need to go all out. I am not telling others how to play, it's just my opinion and how I play.

It just gets more annoying when there is a dc or suicide on first hook, the killer has the match, there isn't a need to break a chase or turn around even though they see someone else right in front of them, just to go back to the freshly unhooked person.

I'm glad someone said slugging at 5 gens or with a DC, or anything with a DC ( it will IMMEDIATELY place the team at a disadvantage)

Also, could I just add, if a survivor is OBVIOUSLY having a technical issue? (IDK about other platforms but on switch maps like Gideon's and Dead Dawn are EXTREMELY dark vs PC or PS- if I run into a wall I'm not braindead, I legitimately CANNOT see)

Although, that being said, if they purposely go out of their way to be big o'jerks (not doing gens and searching you out to tbag or such) then I, personally, don't think it applies.

I have no problem with killers who tunnel toxic survivors. Nor do I have a problem if a killer resorts to tunneling, slugging or camping if they're at 2 gens or less. Game goes by way too fast for most killers to get 12 hooks. I only consider it toxic or sweaty when they do it from the start.

Thankfully, most killers are not like what the survivors on this forum like to portray them as. Yes, I have had my fair share of turds, but for the most part, most are playing for fun, or as someone else mentioned, just punishing bad plays.

I actually have more of an issue with sweaty survivors than I do killers. You know, the sexy shirtless David who is chasing the killer hoping to get a flashlight save when they could be on a gen. I also hate people who tunnel gens when their teammates are on hook and let them get to second stage. At that point, I just let the entity take me.

  • Tunneling hooks when you're a top tier killer that can zip around the map.

Tunneling hooks, proxy camping, and slugging at 5 gens.

Tunneling hooks, proxy camping, camping, slugging or even just plain old tunneling at 5 gens when someone dc's.

Slugging for the 4k to lure me out even though someone DC'd at the start of the match.

  • Her tendency to tunnel and to always go back to hooks the moment there is an unhook.

I hate Freddy more than her tho.

  • This would be what I need to happen to break my addiction and stop playing.

  • It's not the killers problem, it's the devs problem to try to make the game better for everyone.

They're also really bad in the way I described. And Deathslinger.

I find Mr Cowboy fun to face. I'm bad at chases, but it's fun to zig zag around and try and make him miss. You have more of a chance to survive a chase with him than you do a bubba. Like with all killers, it just sucks when the player decides they're gonna camp, slug and tunnel. I can't hate them though, the devs refuse to make big changes to the core of the game and would rather poorly fix things through perks.

    Take that back! :o

At least you get satisfaction out of stomping the little gremlin. And at least they can't 100% deny saves like Bubba.

I will say that it is very satisfying to dodge the little turds launch and proceeding to crush him, but that is it.

  • Hag is fine as is. You just have to be smart with your trap placement and not fall into long chases. I just hate how most who play her camp.

  • @Laurie_Struddle said:

They have to do something about him. Completely rework him idk but do something about his ultimate ability to facecamp to death anyone, I mean what the hell since when does it requires skill to hold M2 in front of a hooked person while nodding your head like a [BAD WORD] cause of course he knows you're not gonna get out of there, or at best if your mates have BT there can be some 1 for 1s but even then it's not fair and makes the killer hella unhealthy. Honestly imo the problem mostly comes from his chainsaw being able to down as many people as he wants in 1 sweep but if they nerf that they'll have to do something else on him to make him more fair and i'm affraid he would end up being too much like Billy, or stay the same, but still so unhealthy

He is a strong licensed killer that just got buffed. It'll be at least a year before they think to look at him. Gotta sell them meta perks and cosmetics.

  • @Rydog said:

He's so miserable to play against. His rework amped up all the things that make him a frustrating, camp-happy killer, and addressed exactly zero of the issues with him.

I rather deal with bubba over the gremlin twins.

There are no nice Claudettes. Claudettes, Neas and Quentins all die.

A nice Bill on the other hand? He might get to live.

I am the sole nice Claudette. She was what was recommended when I first started and I fell in love with her. I even go so far as to role-play with her sometimes. I do my best to never be toxic, I try to help my team when I can as long as they've shown they're competent and as long as its not endgame and they're not being camped by Bubba in the basement. I avoid t-bagging, I leave whatever item I have for the killer at the exit as a present for them as long as they weren't sweaty from the start. I have even gone so far as to let the killer kill me if I suspect matchmaking has screwed them over.

I will t-bag and flashlight click if it is obvious the killer is constantly tunneling someone, or if I haven't been hooked and the person they're chasing is on death hook.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    Imagine being these nerds, lol

Stop caring what survivors think. Learn to embrace the salt. It really is the way forward as killer, because survivors will ######### and moan no matter what you do. They expect you to play by this unwritten honor code where you don't use specific killers/builds/addons/tactics, while they'll hump main building, exhaustion crutches, DS and unbreakaskill. Literally, to hell with them. Curb stomp them. Every game. Remind them who the boss is.

    This times one hundred.

But if you happen upon a nice Claudette, who doesn't t-bag, but crouches at you while looking up into your eyes like a puppy, show her some mercy.

  • @Rydog said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1838014#Comment_1838014

I mean, this synergizes with Hag's kit. I'm not a fan of hook-camping nonsense either, but I have the two brain cells necessary to know I probably ought to crouch-walk to Hag hooks.

98% of solo do not have the 2 brain cells needed. 😭

  • @Rydog said:

Make Your Choice works great on Hag.

Please stop suggesting to killers to make solo even more miserable.

  • In the current dbd, no, she shouldn't exist. The game has evolved to where killers have a much better time than they did when Nurse was released. The game just needs a little bit more work, such as taking away DS's abusive factor, and removing unbreakable walls (they should just leave it open) and making survivors teleport when first hooked to discourage early camping.

I don't think she should be removed though, shes apart of this game and many players have put in too much effort and time into learning her. Devs should honor the Nurse mains and fix her bugs at least.

I just hope they don't make the mistake of making another killer at her level. Solo survivor is painful enough with hook tunneling Spirits and camping/slugging gremlin twins (another killer who shouldn't have been released).

  • I guarantee you that for most of the time, the cosmetics don't define toxicity. When I first started playing, it was brightly dressed Claudettes, but I haven't seen them much these days.

  • I will save if I can, especially if its at the beginning of the match. If the killer has shown me that they're super sweaty with constant tunneling and slugging at 4/5 gens, I'll turn into a bush and make the game last as long as possible. I won't hold the game hostage, but I will disappear the second Spine Chill flickers.

If someone is in the basement towards the end of the match and the killer is camping? I'm out, better to give the killer one kill than two.

Oh, no, I mean the merch store. Where you buy actual physical items for yourself

Oh, sorry. Then yes, I agree, the Bunny Jackets would sell well, especially if they had more than two color options.

All of the Christmas onesies would sell pretty well.

Janes Memoria outfit would so okay.

Oni, Trapper and Legion masks would sell pretty decently. They could also make them into key chains.

Otherwise, I don't think most of the cosmetics are that interesting. I wouldn't spend money on them as in-game cosmetics or as real life clothes. Most of the clothes they have look like something I could find at the local Good Will or T-J Maxx.

  • Shirtless Felix.

    Speedo Dwight.

Behavior would be raking in the dough.

Don't buy DLC for a game that gets gifted to you.

You got 180 hours of entertainment out of it. No reason for a refund.

Hopefully, you learned to not waste money on cosmetics. You're better off spending it on candy or clothes.

  • I'd rather Mori's on death hook be base-kit as a counter to DS. Survivors would have to be a little more careful and less brash when making their decisions.

Some of those perks do need to be town down honestly. Second it's not like I'm always in a swf comp. And when I or anyone on the team do run the killer that's when people wanna rush gens. Not saying it needs a nerf but asking if anyone thinks a rework can balance it out so nothing in the game can carry someone. That goes for both sides. just a suggestion at the end of the day.

It is perfectly balanced, no rework needed. Do totems to completely remove it and force the killer to play with only three perks, or, don't and face the consequences. "Rework" is code for "Nerf". You don't need to be in a swf in order to do bones. I only play solo and have no problem finding totems except on Midwich. Even then, I run plunderers and usually get a pink map. Heck, I have over 70 pink maps in my inventory thanks to plunderers.

The problem isn't with NOED, the problem is with bad survivors who don't know how to properly waste the killers time by looping well enough or playing stealthily. Bad survivors are the reason why solo is miserable and why proper matchmaking is needed. I doubt they'll fix it any time soon.

  • NOED is fine.

If you think it needs to be nerfed due to it carrying bad killers, then you must also think that Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Iron Will and all exhaustion perks need to be nerfed because they carry bad survivors and reward them for making bad plays.

Be honest, it's not that you care about it carrying killers, it's just that you don't like to face the perk.

It isn't difficult to counter NoEd. There are 4 survivors and 5 totems. If everyone would play a bit more stealthily at the start of the match, you can knock out most of the totems before the killer even gets in a chase.

The problem isn't NOED or bad killers, the problem is with survivors never wanting to cleanse totems.

As for carrying bad killers, if the killer was bad, you should have had plenty of time to cleanse totems. If the killer was camping, rush gens and leave. Just like killers are not entitled to a kill, survivors are not entitled to a 4 man escape.

  • I play survivor everyday, more than anyone should, and I have only seen one afk killer in the last month. Where are they all at, all I am getting is Spirit- The Mistress of Tunneling.

I am happy that the constant stream of Sir Fredrick's has ceased. It was so brutal.

  • @Renfear said:

I've played this game for a few hundred hours, here's what I've learned.

    How to beat a Doctor:

    1. The doctor Disconnects
    2. The doctor is AFK
    3. The doctor is farming and lets you go
    If none of these happens:
    1. Suicide on hook. Hope you get someone else next match. This match is a complete waste of time.

I hope this has been a helpful guide.

You have learned nothing and are still bad if you think the Doctor is difficult. Wait until you start getting Pro-Nurses who slug at 5 gens over and over.

    1. If you hear his terror radius, run away until you're out of it. This will allow you to avoid getting put in madness.
    2. If you are in chase, don't greed pallets, drop them early if you think he is good with landing his shocks.
    3. If he downs someone, get in a locker and wait until after he uses his aoe blast.

The Doctor is only difficult when you have potato teammates or if your team royally screwed up and 3-gen'd yourself against him.

As someone else stated, if you get him often enough, Calm Spirit is a good perk to basically make his power useless.

  • As long as it's not an indoor map, I can avoid her 75% of the time. Spine Chill warns me of her approach, I let go of the gen and sneak towards the direction I am pretty sure she is coming from. They never expect it and I usually get away.

There is no avoiding hook tunneling spirits tho. They can burn in hell.

  • I don't see anyone crying. I see paying customers making valid complaints about the game. Why shouldn't they express themselves and their concerns on an outlet that has been provided by the developers to obtain feedback?

Feng will get a muzzle so she can spare her teammates the earaches.

Jake will get a pair of roller skates.

Trapper will get new traps that cannot be disarmed.

Doctor will get a pack of batteries.

Spirit will get some new clothes that actually cover up her body.

Plague will get some barf bags.

Freddy will get Robert Englund to voice him.

Oni will get a little sister who follows him around.

Billy will get psychiatric therapy to work through his past trauma and cosmetic surgery.

Bubba will get a new Bbq grill.

Piggy will get a new mask with spots on it. She'll also get a new jacket.

If they removed both, they probably would have retained more players. But honestly DS is just so absurd. I purposefully count down and still miscount when so much is going on and they just get off anyways. It's caused me so much frustration that every break I've taken from this game is due to that one perk.

No, they would have retained killers, but not survivors. SWF is the money maker for this game. They buy the cosmetics and the dlcs in order to get the meta perks. If DS was nerfed and survivors lost power, especially in endgame, they would quit. The whole purpose of swf is to bully the killer, when they can't, they'll find a different game.

And I also feel it’s a case of the devs not wanting to lose player base. I could guarantee that if the devs nerfed ooo swf groups would be in outrage and quit the game over it.

I don't think anyone would quit over an OoO nerf. But boy oh boy would the tears and rage flow if DS gets touched.

Yea, no. That wouldn't be fair to killers at all. A perk that can completely undo the time and effort that a killer put in to chase and down and carry a survivor to a hook all to be undone because a survivor chose to bring in a certain perk? Introduce this and expect lobby times to skyrocket.

Using it twice sounds more chaotic than once even if it's 30 seconds.

Not if it deactivates if the killer hooks someone else, attacks another surivior while they recently unhooked isn't in their terror radius or if the perk user works on an objective such as a generator, fully heals/gets healed, or cleanses a totem, or sabotages a hook.

Farming is holding the game hostage for 10 minutes, while there is a 5 minute dc penalty on the first 2 offenses. Should I dc? No, the time increases. Do I dc against farmers, hell yeah, because waiting 5 minutes in a lobby is more fun than being stuck in a ######### boring ######### game for 10-15 minutes.

As I said, dc penalty should get removed against farmers. Everyone who wants to farm can stay, normal players can leave.

Edit: I don't encourage anyone to dc, it's your own decision. Dcing is bad. :)

You should learn what holding the game hostage means. If the killer isn't preventing you from progressing the game, then they are not holding the game hostage. All you need to do is work on gens, which is the same thing you need to do in order to win a regular match.

Farming is rare enough that is doesn't warrant the development time in order to implement removing the DC penalty for farmers. There is probably no way for the game to be able to tell when the killer is farming or is just really bad.

Don't want to farm? Do gens and get out.

  • Hi, Insidious Trapper, I am Insidious Claudette.

  • I want to dc the moment I see its Freddy. Not because he's OP, I just hate the stupid dreamworld so much, it makes my eyes bleed. I don't, just because I don't want to punish anyone. But if someone DC's at the start, I basically give up and not even try to play properly. Instead, Ill just look for totems and chests to make the match a bit more interesting.

  • @xI_Fabi_Ix said:

Also, I have noticed the trend bad killers have. They start farming when they play bad and get destroyed.

Basically proving that you are too bad to play the game the intended way.

Ive never seen this unless its obvious the player never played that killer before. Usually, if im facing a bad killer, they just end up tunneling and camping.

  • "It's fun." - No, it's repetitive and boring. It's the same, every single match.....

Same can be said about looping the killer. It's the same every match, find the nearest obstacle, run around three times, drop pallet, run to the next obstacle.

I like farming, whether I am survivor or killer. Yes, it can get boring if it happens often, but its a nice change of pace from the constant sweat lord 4 slug at 5 gen killers or from facing tryhard sweaty swf with 2 flashlights and two tool boxes and 2bnps. It makes me happy to find people who play for fun, yet don't want to do it at the cost of someone elses entertainment. I also like helping people, so if a Trapper motions for me to step into their trap, I will.

There is no need to ever remove the dc penalty. You don't want to farm? Go play the game by doing gens and opening the exit gates. No one is holding you hostage.
