I mean, I'm playing Killer a lot more since the midchapter update and Dead Hard getting fixed hasn't slowed me down at all. I actually haven't been using Dead Hard for the past three months because I constantly ended up exhausted on the ground but now I'm looking forward to using it again. Just played a game last night as Wraith and got a 3k (last one got hatch) and I got DH-validated three times (and pallet validated once!)... didn't bother me whatsoever. Just remember that if you hit them and they don't go down, you weren't meant to hit them in the first place.
Now if we could just have hit validation brought back... it was here for such a short time π Was so nice to not be hit by Huntress hatchets around corners

From the looks of it, Talbot did actually capture Pyramid Head. On the Pyramid Blight skin you can see the contraption that is used to inject putrid serum on his back. The contraption isn't something you can just slap onto somebody in a second, it needs to be installed into their body. Also, the whole purpose of the contraption is to delay the injection, giving Talbot time to get to safety and observe the results. So if Talbot just snuck up on Pyramid Head, he would have probably used a syringe instead to inject the putrid serum. So it seems like Talbot somehow captured Pyramid Head, and was able to keep him detained for long enough to install the putrid serum contraption. But I guess this isn't anything out of the ordinary, considering Talbot was also able to capture The Spirit and The Nurse.
Do you think that... maybe... Pyramid Head allowed himself to be experimented on by Blight, knowing he would become stronger from it? I mean, he's pretty sentient, unlike most Killers. He actually went to the Entity's realm willingly! I think that's the most likely explanation.
-
I've actually been playing against him a lot more recently, four times in two days! I'm glad, games against him are pretty interesting and lengthy.

I saw an issue like that on Nea with her new skin too.
I actually just saw it on Jonathan as well so it must be something wrong with Pinhead's mori... π

Some people forgot the old toolboxes and its charges with add ons. Probably they're 2021 killers. You'll learn.
Oh my gosh yes, when they nerfed toolboxes I was so glad (and I mostly play Survivor). Built to Last with toolboxes isn't nearly as bad as old toolboxes were, thankfully. I do have to say that the commodious with Built to Last is a little crazy though, but with how many Killers take Ruin it's not even worth it to leave your gen to refill your toolbox.

Unfortunatly I could only have 10 poll options.
Ah I see, that's fine then! Didn't mean to seem complainy in my comment by the way, I realized it kinda looked like that after I posted it.
-
Why is there no "both sides" options here? I don't play enough of one side to be a "main" of that side so I don't want to select any of these.
But other than that, I'm perfectly happy with the midchapter and appreciate most, if not all of the changes + additions from it. The only thing that bothers me is that, while I'm very happy that Plague is stronger now (she needed it), I'm a little concerned with how easy it is to fully infect someone since she now walks much faster while she's charging and using her power. It kinda feels like Redhead's Pinky Finger Clown sometimes... π
-
I've gone to the dark side. I actually really like RPD, it's a nice break from running to the nearest loop and playing ring-around-the-rosie with the Killer until I throw down the pallet. Actually makes me feel like I'm playing some sort of horror game when I'm running through the halls and the Killer is relentlessly pursuing me. And playing Killer on RPD makes me feel intimidating and I love rolling up on Survivors when they can't tell exactly where I am.
Other than that, Midwich is second best in my opinion. I just like the look and feel of it and I love the siren playing when all the gens pop.
-
The only thing I would change on him is his nose (it's a little oddly proportioned). Other than that I think he looks great!

Why he is like to old?
Old? I mean, he's almost thirty in Silent Hill 2, not to mention all of the stress he's been through... I'd say he looks appropriate!
-
I play around 90% solo, and my brother occasionally joins me as Survivor for the other 10% π He's a Killer main but he enjoys Survivor from time to time!
-
That would be really cool, I would like P3 Jonathan and P3 (New Legendary)! And if we could get Adept achievements for them, that would be awesome π

Interesting. Doctor seems to be the number one hate-bait killer when I play him. People sometimes DC the second I hit a Static Blast. Absolutely no idea why - he's really pretty meh.
That is strange. I played against a Doctor a couple weeks ago who brought a mori, and when he used his Static Blast a teammate D/C-ed. She didn't even get hit by it! Not sure what was going on there.
I actually like Doctors because I don't know what to expect out of them. Sometimes they're ruthless and straight-up murder all of the Survivors, and sometimes they start goofing off halfway through the game and it ends up being a lot of fun. Most of the "nice" Killers I've played against have been Doctors!
-
Both are perks that, while they are extremely helpful, are not necessary for normal gameplay. They are best as perks you can choose to bring depending on your playstyle.
And honestly, I play about 95% Solo Queue and I think that Kindred basekit would just be too much information to give Survivors for free.
-
She doesn't have her own voice but she should be getting one soon, if I'm not mistaken!
-
I like playing against Doctor, Pyramid Head and Trickster! Myers is fun when he has Tombstone as well, and I like facing Twins occasionally.
Doctor provides fun gameplay for me and I love hearing his laugh (and my character screeching after being shocked)! Pyramid Head is my main and favorite Killer, and I like dodging his M2 (and he has great chase music). And Trickster is just cool. I really like his chase music as well and I like hearing him laugh and carry on like he does.

Theorically yes, they will be discounted during next year's Chinese New Year Event (since they were discounted at this year's Event).
Practically, there's no official announcement about the Event itself, so we don't event know if there will be a Chinese New Year Event in 2022.
Awesome, thanks for the answer!

I dodge newbish-looking teammates, like if they're wearing default cosmetics. I also dodge teammates from South America whenever I can... their internet is usually awful as I am in the U.S..
As Killer, I never dodge lobbies, unless someone is wearing legacy clothing--not only have I heard of hackers wearing legacy clothes because they can just add them to their account, but I personally encountered one wearing legacy as a Survivor. Best to avoid them altogether.
-
Sadly, BHVR won't do anything about Nurse until enough people "get good" with her. I'm convinced that if enough people took the time to actually learn and master her ability (which isn't that difficult), her kill rate would jump significantly and would warrant a rework.
I used to be a rank 1 Nurse main and even after not playing her for months I still can mop the floor with efficient Survivors. I've never even used range addons, it's just too easy to succeed without them and I feel like they're almost a hindrance to using her power effectively. Not bragging or anything, just stating how powerful she is when you understand how to play her properly. No other Killer can do what she does!
And honestly, the only way you don't catch Survivors with Nurse is by your own mistakes, not theirs. She can literally ignore everything that Survivors can use against her in the game, except for stealth.
-
Definitely Pyramid Head. I literally couldn't contain myself when he was announced for DbD and I've been loving him ever since. I love his chase music, the sound of the knife scraping the ground and his power is fun and rewarding to use!
-
Definitely Pyramid Head for me. Landing his M2 is one of the best things ever, especially when I hit a Survivor with the very end of it after they used Dead Hard one time! π

no lvl 3 because you find it unfair? you are quite unique
Well, that and I like hearing some of the males' injured sounds... Leon's and Felix's to be exact π But it is definitely more fair as well, 75% is plenty!

You couldn't bypass ######### tbh, because you had to finish as many gens as players where in the match(including the killer) for it to spawn. So it was pretty fair in my opinion.
Well, I've had too many 3-man escapes through one Survivor having/finding a key and leading their teammates to the hatch at one gen remaining. It's even worse when they've 3-genned themselves and then they just get a free pass to victory. It's not fair.
The Survivors' objective is to complete the generators in order to escape. Not do "most" of the objective and then not only bypass the remaining gen(s) but also opening the exit gates. Believe me, I'm a 90% solo queue player and I think the hatch change is ultimately for the best.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP0f9f-UaJQI would like to point out here that the Clown played fair and at this point was patrolling the last generators. Very fun and fair for him to get robbed of possible chase, hook and sacrifice points. (I cut it too early but the Claudette jumped out as well)
-
I already use rank 2 Iron Will only (75%) on most of my Survivors so that would be perfectly fine! Would actually be a buff for my playstyle, with the still/crouching/walking change π
-
I think the nerfs are fair. The hatch was only ever intended to give the last player a chance to get some big BP, not multiple players bypass the objective and end the game early. And with the hatch/key changes, I've actually had less teammates camping the hatch waiting for me or a teammate to die.
The Killers slugging for the 4k hasn't changed though, in fact during this event it seems to have gotten worse... but I believe that can be fixed with a "give up" option for Survivors who have been left on the ground for around half of their bleedout timer, or 2 minutes. Or else have Survivors get a free Unbreakable after 2 minutes of being slugged. Either of those would be very helpful and make for healthier gameplay.
-
I just used Trickster with Blighted Serum and kept jumpscaring myself whenever I went to use my knives... π₯Ί
That is definitely awesome though!
-
I've had infinite loading screens 2 out of 4 games so far this evening. It seemed better yesterday with only one infinite loading screen out of around 5 games, but it's back in full force today.
PC - Steam, Crossplay ON, solo today but duo yesterday
-
I love the Legion trailer. Seeing Legion teased like that makes me sad for how they turned out, not that I don't appreciate the Killer but I wish their power was more thematic, rather than Jeff the Killer copy.
-
Definitely use flannel when you first start to get a feel for where her blinks go, and then phase it out after around 5 games. Always blink to the corners of walls or obstacles rather than trying to predict where the Survivor is on the other side! And don't use your blink right at the start of the game, as you can typically get the drop on Survivors if you keep your identity hidden until you strike.
I would also prioritize recharge speed or decreased fatigue addons over range (I've actually never used a range addon in all my Nurse gameplay), since I think her default blink range is quite enough. I personally like using the wooden horse and the pocket watch since I feel like she's perfectly strong without addons, and I get good results anyway!
-
Somehow I agree with this, while also respecting it as possible bait... might have something to do with most of the Killers I've played against during this event.

Dead by Daylight makes Cyberpunk 2077 look stable.
Haha, good one! As someone who played CP2077 months after release, that was the buggiest mess I have experienced in my entire life. I literally have a folder with 12 GB of video and pictures of the many, many bugs I put up with in 45 hours of gameplay. At least I can play Dead by Daylight and get two matches in a row without bugs... everywhere I looked on Cyberflop, there appeared a new bug every time.
-
So weird, this was happening right after Silent Hill release I believe... and now it's back. I saw a clip of it happening to someone on PC, hasn't happened to me yet thankfully
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they upped the chances for keys in chests since they're not busted anymore. I'd appreciate if they put ADDONS on keys found in chests without needing Ace In The Hole so they wouldn't be useless when you find them. AGH

My favorite Survivor perk build: Flashbang, Head On, Quick & Quiet and Iron Will or Any Means Necessary.
I also like using: Lithe and Iron Will, and I swap out the other two perks often. I love using Babysitter, For The People, We're Gonna Live Forever and other fun perks like those! Especially Any Means Necessary!
And as Killer, I love using: Deathbound, Sloppy Butcher, Nurse's Calling and Pop. I love using Monitor & Abuse as well!

That's so sad. I was going to buy Hex: Plaything. Thank you.
No problem, happy gaming! π
-
Yeah, it only activates on Dull totems, not on either Blessed or Hexed totems. I think it would actually be cool to use against Boons since they would either be forced to bless the Hex (24 seconds) or cleanse it and lose a blessable totem. Plus, the Plaything Survivor might not have a Boon and then they would either be forced to be Oblivious for 90 seconds or remove the totem from play.
-
Dead by Daylight was designed without voice chat for a reason. I myself play oodles of Solo Queue and I never want voice chat added--we have plenty of aura reading perks and two gestures we can use perfectly fine.
And choosing Killers is an awful idea... like others have said, people would just choose Killers you can select easy perk counters for, and then people would completely quit playing Killers like Doctor, Myers and Ghostface because everyone would be guaranteed running Spine Chill and Calm Spirit.

It is so far from guaranteed, it's not even funny. You can just run up and unhook as survivor, and fake it out if you need to, but it's completely free because the game refuses to give the killer a grab. Have 2 or more people run at the hook, and it's pretty much guaranteed that the hooked person gets off, because one will unhook and the other will body block.
So? Just hit the unhooker or bodyblocker and down them shortly afterward. No need to go after the person who was just taken off the hook, chances are they have BT applied to them anyway.
-
SILENT HILL! I was literally jumping up and down when it released, partly because I predicted it beforehand on the forum (despite all of the naysayers!), but mostly because I was super excited for Pyramid Head! And he did not disappoint, that's for sure π
-
You have to make a more detailed report alongside your in-game report on the DbD support site. Including screenshots of the abuse helps tremendously as well.
-
I watch the VOD after the stream, but they're usually being rude toward me for no reason. It's crazy how people feel free to talk trash about other people like that, even though I can just go watch and see what they said.
However, I've only watched one VOD when I was the Killer in their game. I was playing Nurse and I got a 4k right at the end (it was clutch), and they insulted me to their friend and chat. I haven't watched a VOD as Killer since, couldn't care less about their opinions or reactions.

Hey I don't know if you saw my post before it was deleted, but i just wanted to apologize, I have played this game for 3.5 years now its a huge passion of mine and i love this game, and dead dog being disabled again just really upset me because i love playing that map, they released a video on youtube showing the map and we cant even play it, i know they are balancing maps around boon totems i just needed to vent, and let behavior know that i was upset, a guy who defends their game everytime, who doesn't play this game like a the toxic part of the community, im constantly promoting this game, and i just want to see it succeed, because its my favorite game of all time,
Thank you Behavior for creating this game,
-Concerned Dead by Daylight Player
I understand, friend! I myself have been playing for almost two years (I am recently back after a lengthy break however) and I love DbD too. It is pretty disappointing that the Saloon has been disabled so many times for sure... I can't even imagine what they're running into trying to get it back up and running. And it is definitely good to give feedback to the devs on the game, good or bad. We should all be doing that to make sure the game gets the love and care it needs. Hopefully they get things sorted out, in the meantime the BP bonuses are pretty nice and the Halloween event is shaping up to be pretty good. While these things don't replace the Saloon being gone for months, it sure is a nice gesture and I hope the map gets back up and running soon!
I appreciate your reply, too! Happy gaming!

They aren't...
I am ignoring slowdown perks like a passion since SBMM is a thing. Yes, I won't go as high in MMR, but I will get to the right MMR for me using those builds.
And frankly, I'm loving it this way. Being able to just pick perks that go well with the killer is fun as hell.
Or just experimenting... I have been using Oblivious perks very much lately, and I am having a blast. (Things like Hysteria and Deathbound)
Exactly. If you're wanting the 4k every game (which is not balanced), then you'll stack slowdowns and eke out a victory. If you want to play Killer to enjoy your power and perks you like, you'll have fun, fair games and not care about the outcome.
I've actually gone from being a hardcore Nurse main who'd immediately swap to Nurse when I'd see SWF in my lobby (before they made it so you can't swap Killer in lobby) to playing Nurse just to have fun and get BPs. Getting everyone to death hook and then goofing off is so much more laid-back and fun!
-
I mean, there's an entire Halloween tome that you can earn two free outfits ($20 value) from, so I'm pretty pleased with the event (even though I don't play Doctor or Mikaela). Very generous for sure
-
PC - Steam, Crossplay enabled
I had it happen to me a couple times now, and I'm pretty sure both times there were three of us on PC and one on console. That's the only consistency I can recall.
-
If I'm playing Survivor and another Survivor is hacking, I disconnect if they start using hacks on me, e.g. instantly picking me up off the ground when I get downed by the Killer. I don't want to be involved in any way, shape or form. If they aren't using hacks on me, I let the Killer kill me and watch the match so I can record video evidence for a support ticket.
If I'm playing Killer and someone is hacking, I let 'em go and play the game normally. They usually they get bored and move on.
