Yeah i've noticed that because i'm playing on controller and even 180 (i'm not a juker) but at least to avoid let's say DemonGorgon charge it's almost impossible on male chars because 180 its harder.

That's funny, I actually have an easier time spinning with my male characters than the females. I feel like the male character does a wider swivel than the female characters when you 360, but that might just be me!

  • Good on you, friend! I actually just bought some cells after being gone for quite some time because I'm really pleased with how the game is improving (and the rift stuff, and something I'm picking up toward the end of the month!). I quit playing in August of last year because I wasn't really pleased with the state of the game but after coming back a couple months ago things are looking a lot better. Especially the Decisive Strike change, perk tweaks and the PTB changes we'll be seeing live next week. I do enjoy supporting companies and people (especially artists on Bandcamp!) who do good work in my opinion. I'm glad to see BHVR putting in the work and hope to see more good updates and changes in the future.

  • I've actually had a couple saved for quite some time! (not mine, just seen elsewhere)

    Trapper!.png Funny dbd.png
  • While both would be kinda awesome (and a little terrifying, haha), I'll just settle for mori-ing Survivors in lockers. I mean, honestly, any Myers using Tombstone is either going for the achievement or just memeing around and there's really nothing wrong with that. Pretty cringe when Survivors drag out the game over it, though. I played against a Myers who was going for the achievement and it was just Meg and I remaining. I just followed him around because I knew what was up and the Meg kept flying into lockers and sitting for ages. He'd take her out, let her wiggle off away from the locker and she would fly to the nearest one and hop inside. It was very tedious and boring.

  • This is why Myers should be able to mori Survivors out of lockers with Tombstone.

  • I've actually been seeing Twins a lot more lately, and while the gameplay is a little tedious (except for kicking the baby), I would like to see some better skins. The skins she currently has are pretty dang bad. And I honestly wished they hadn't made her look so dopey, it almost feels stereotypical. She should have looked more intimidating and savage to match Victor.

This Demo uses Ruin, do you want to insult me?

On a more serious note - nah, this happened some time ago (half a year or something like that). And it were 4 Davids, SWF. (most likely, 3 had matching names, the one Console-David did not, but this is understandable)

Ah darn! That would have been a heck of a coincidence if you were the Demo! πŸ˜› Oh well!

  • Pyramid Head mains of course! And this has nothing to do with me maining him myself, of course... 😏

It will never happen that 4 No Mithers play against an Oni. I have seen 4 No Mithers exactly once in 6500 hours of playtime, against my Demo. And it was a 4 man David-SWF who just memed around.

I actually played a game where I got into the lobby and there was a 3-man using No Mither. They asked me to join them in their antics so I put on David with No Mither as well, and we played against a Demo! It was over a year and a half ago and I still have the clip, haha. Were you the Demo?

  • I would actually love to see a Specimen from Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion as a Killer. Any specimen, honestly, but if I had to choose one in particular I would love to see what they could do with Specimen 8, 10 or 11.

Or else a Clock Tower style map and Killer.

  • I honestly think that his chains shouldn't immediately break on impact with terrain, rather it be a Deathslinger-type chain break where they glow for a moment and then break. He needs better turn rate during the chain control as well, it's way too slow and clunky.

I've only ever played against one good Pinhead and he was a god gamer. Really good with the chain! He farmed with me and another Survivor after the other two players killed themselves on hook and D/C'ed, respectively. It was really fun because he actually chased us and downed us rather than just having us do the gens and leave. I enjoyed it quite a bit and actually got to experience a Pinhead who was good with his power.

So I would say this: I think that his power is good. It just needs some tweaks to make it less clunky to use and less punishing when you miss. Like, let you cancel the chain early instead of having to run it into an obstacle or the ground.

Buffing solo to SWF level is exactly what needs to happen and people have been begging for it for years. This is one small way to head in that direction.

But SWF is already a problem and is not balanced for the game. Why do you want solos to be just as strong and unbalanced? Do you want people to not play Killer anymore?

Solos are already strong enough, they don't need any buffs. There are perks you can take to help you (YOU!) have nearly as much information as SWF, but they're not absolutely necessary. I myself don't even use meta perks to speak of and I have good results nearly every game as an almost purely solo queue player. The game is designed around lack of information--it keeps Survivors from playing at 100% efficiency. SWFs are a problem because they know each others' locations at all times, thus resulting in 100% efficiency in their actions since they don't have to worry about where the Killer is. Survivors at 100% efficiency can end a game in minutes. The LAST thing the game needs is for solos to be brought anywhere close to that level.

Please remember that the game was initially designed for purely solo queue. It was NOT designed for comms and that is completely evident in how powerful a SWF is versus solos. Giving solos free aura-reading because "SWF is stronger!" is completely asinine. If I want to have an easy game, I'll play SWF with comms. If I want to actually play the video game, I'll play solo as I do already and play it the way it was intended to be played. And I'll take aura reading perks if I feel like that information is necessary, which it isn't 99% of the time.

no we actually want solo q and swf to be at the same level

Exactly. SWF should be closer to the level of solo queue, a.k.a. brought down to the same level. SWF is very strong and I honestly believe solo queue is pretty balanced, so why would we be buffing perks and mechanics for solos to be at the same level as SWF, when SWF is not balanced for the game in the first place? Wouldn't that make solo queue unbalanced and just as bad as SWF? Do Survivors in general really need buffs? πŸ˜‚

    @SabunoHakia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2557416#Comment_2557416

That would only be possible by buffing killers which we know BHVR sure as heck does their best not too.

I would honestly say that most Killers are in a good place. If they buffed most Killers to deal with SWF, they would be far too oppressive in an average solo queue. I really can't say what a good fix would be but it sure as heck isn't buffing solo Survivors to be on par with SWF. Solos are in a good place right now and giving them anything that SWFs have (basekit Kindred, aura buffs that SWFs would already have access to, e.t.c.) would be awful and completely unbalance solo queue. I shudder to think of playing Killer and having to deal with SWF-level solos every game.

  • I don't think Head On needs to be changed in that way at all. It's not meant to be a free pallet stun for your teammates to use while they're being chased... it's simply a niche exhaustion perk for Solo Queue that is fun to use and strong when you pull it off.

The last thing we need is for Solo Queue to be buffed to the level of SWF in any way, shape or form. And I mostly play solo queue Survivor! We need SWF to be brought down close to the level of Solo Queue if that is possible.

  • I personally think Wraith's power should be adjusted or changed into something more interesting--not because of his power level, but just because he's honestly pretty boring to play in my opinion. His power is not something to wow over, but I believe that of Hillbilly as well. They're both just older Killers whose powers are a bit too simple and boring to use and don't result in exciting and fulfilling gameplay. I mean, if people thought Billy was a fun Killer to play, they'd still be playing him often after he received his overheat mechanic, however I've only seen him three times in the past 3 months. In my opinion, he was mostly played because he was strong, not because he was necessarily fun.

I'm not saying I have a better idea for them by any means. I just feel like they could both be updated in a more meaningful way rather than just continuing to tweak their addons and values.

  • No tunnelling, camping or slugging from me, but there will definitely be an increase in moris on my part... 😏

  • It only works when you're injured (basically Exposed) and you can still track by blood trail and footstep sounds... it doesn't necessarily need a nerf. If anything, it could be changed to reduce the frequency of injured sounds (from every ~2 seconds to maybe every 6 or so) and then lower the volume of injured sounds across the board, especially for those who need it badly. Some Survivors are just WAY too loud (looking at Bill, Jane and Jeff), and even ones that aren't as loud as them are still pretty dang loud, like Meg. When I play Killer, it's way too easy to find injured Survivors when they're not using Iron Will just because their agony can be heard from so far away.

So many people use Iron Will because Survivors are too loud when they're injured in general. Not to mention it's pretty grating to hear your Survivor constantly pitch a fit.

Yo that might just have been me. Was it a match in badham?

    No, it was Haddonfield πŸ˜”

  • Sad moments out here. I feel your pain, it took me several attempts to do that challenge...

For future reference, try either Crotus Prenn offering or Midwich offering. Much easier to fall off heights in chases than Haddonfield and the Killer is especially less likely to D/C with the Crotus Prenn offering!

  • @ClumsyTrapper said:

I always run into the basement first thing and yell to my friends "territorial imperative check"

Also I love runng territorial imperative

I like running into the basement myself but the Killer usually has Lethal Pursuer instead of Territorial Imperative... I almost got trapped in the basement by a Trapper (haha) who trapped the window and doors and then chased me out of the basement. Thankfully, someone disarmed one of the door traps and I escaped! But then the Trapper went AFK for the rest of the match... Lol

  • I escape/force Killer to drop chases a decent amount of the time against most Killers. Many of the times I don't escape chases are when the Killer gets upset/tunnel vision and chases me through several generators and then facecamps me until my teammates do the last gens and leave. I actually just got slugged for 4 minutes while the Killer stood over my body because I gave them the loop while they tunnelled me most of the game. Complete with swinging their weapon over my body, spinning in circles and nodding.

I usually do best against Huntresses!

  • @MaxFiGuy said:

During the Endgame Collapse, I like to play a little "mini-game". If I close the hatch as killer, I want to hook the last survivor. However, if they are able to loop me long enough or hide long enough so that the Entity finishes them, I tell them in the post-chat that they beat me. I also play the "mini-game" as survivor where I try to get killed by the Entity instead of being hooked.

Hey, I do the same thing as Survivor! If I can't open the exit gates I just loop until the Entity finishes me off. It's actually worked out in my favor however, I looped a Blight in front of the gate for a while and he finally downed me, but let me open the gate and leave! I felt like I earned the escape in his eyes. 😌

  • Iron Will for sure. It gets pretty grating hearing your Survivor constantly pitch a fit, and the denial of information to the Killer is definitely a welcome bonus. I also frequently use Lithe, it's my favorite exhaustion perk!

Oh, does that mean they’re making more silent hill content? Tell me please 😳

I can't say anything specific but there's a certain character whom we've been waiting for for awhile. He'll be here soon and I'm swiping him up as soon as he arrives!

  • If you're playing against enough Pyramid Heads to make a complaint thread about him, please give me your matches. I barely play against him and it makes me sad, especially since he is my favorite Killer and I main him myself!

Hopefully we'll be seeing more of him when a certain man arrives in the Fog. 😏

  • I would love to see Leon's DLC outfits from RE:2! 😍

  • I mean, he'd still be shirtless, right? I see no problem! 😏 Anything for shirtless Felix!

  • I just want to be able to get the Adept Achievement for my soon-to-be-mine Legendary... 😭

I'm all for reducing the price of Legendaries because they're too expensive compared to a regular skin. I was thinking putting them at ~$10, the average price of a skin. I think that would be fair. But, in the end, it's still a cosmetic and you don't have to buy it... plus, people WILL buy it at $15, so I guess there is no real incentive on behalf of the company.

I guess we can also compare Legendaries to skins from League of Legends... the minimum price to buy a skin that changes voice is $15 there, so I guess it's comparable. Not to mention that I think DbD skins are worth far more than League skins, as your character on League is a small, pixelated entity on the field and your DbD character takes up most of your screen and is a lot more detailed (on the Survivor side, anyway. I don't really like buying skins for Killer because you can't see your Killer at all times and it feels like a waste).

  • A lot of my fun comes from dressing up my characters, so that would be great! I think the amount of customization you suggested might be a little too much for me, though... πŸ˜›

  • Myers and Felix were voiced by the same person... 😏

And I always have this wonderful picture (and wish I had many more) (please play more Tombstone Myers)

    please no more.. (3).png

Lmfao I can't believe you just put the words playing to win and playing competitive is one sentence with a straight face and tell me there's a difference. By the way you're supposed to replace the word "playing" with "trying" otherwise it makes your argument point absolutely silly when you describe the former with the words trying afterward . But I'll be ignoring that aside. All you did is explain someone that's highly competitive person but both are still competitive by nature.

Umm, I play to win but I'm not sweating my arse off at it. I obviously don't want to be a detriment to my teammates when I play Survivor and I want to be able to use my power successfully when I'm playing Killer. I play to enjoy my games and have fun/good plays. And, like I said, enjoying your games comes down to being able to actually play the video game in some capacity. When you're tunnelled, slugged and camped out of the game you're basically not playing the game... you're just sitting inactive, waiting for back to lobby screen. And when you're playing Killers who aren't meta or whom you aren't especially good at, it does suck to be matched against people far outside your skill level + hours and not be able to use your power effectively and enjoy the perks you brought.

Playing to win DOES NOT equal playing competitively. Playing to win means that you're not going to be a troll and goof off, you're actually going to try and advance the objective and support your teammates BUT you don't pitch a fit if you lose. Playing competitively means that you're trying your hardest to be the best and you use meta Killers and perks to achieve that objective. They are quite different.

But anyway, why are you attacking this gamer in the first place? Does it matter if he plays the game a certain way and wants to have fun, fair and balanced games? Your attitude toward the game does not discount their attitude toward the game in any way, shape or form. It's ridiculous to be so critical and demonize how someone else feels about the game just because you feel like your opinion is the right one.

  • I understand your pain, friend. At first I was getting fun and balanced matches, then I started getting near-newbie teammates against a decent Killer, now I'm just playing against Spirit and Nurse every game. I've literally played against Spirit three times and Nurse twice out of seven games. My other two games were against a Slinger who D/C'ed and a Pinhead. And on the Pinhead game he used a Midwich offering with double box solving addons and went for a 4k slug. Someone ended up getting out the hatch anyway and he only got 19k points... very sad.

I'm a super casual player, I play to win but I don't mind getting clapped out by good players. But playing against Spirit Nurse every single game is pretty grating. I'm not even in "high" MMR whatsoever... I'm still getting newbish teammates on top of it!

At first I had faith in the new MMR but it's starting to crumble. I'm a pretty good looper and can last a good bit in a chase, and I actually touch generators and unhook as well, but my MMR doesn't seem to reflect that. I keep getting matched with newer players against Killers who have a decent amount of experience and nearly every game ends up being a wash, especially since I seem to get tunnelled out often while my teammates crouch beside generators or hide in lockers. It especially hurts that I'm trying to get Adept Leon right now. πŸ˜₯

  • We just need 5% regression to kicks base and adjust all other gen-related perks around this! Like Tinkerer would have around a thirty second cooldown so it couldn't repeat activate, Pop would be an additional 20% regression so it would be 25% total, things like that. It would be such a blessing!

  • Close tie between Steve and Leon but I had to go with Steve. Scoops Ahoy Boy is too good!

As I said, I have 1600 hours played in this game. It was alright for maybe the first few hundred hours but at this point I'm just sick of it. The problem I brought up in my OP is receiving a penalty for something you shouldn't when you're technically already eliminated from the match. I'm not in favor of the leaver penalty to begin with. If you don't want to play a match you shouldn't be penalized for leaving it. In this case its receiving the penalty after you've been eliminated all because you didn't wait for a death animation I've seen a million times.

I understand what you're saying, friend. I myself have almost 1000 hours and I've seen the sacrifice animation plenty of times! I guess technically it doesn't negatively impact anyone when you leave during the sacrifice but it would definitely be something to add to their spaghetti code, I'm sure... and I don't have optimistic views on how well that would play out. And I myself support the D/C penalty because I don't like it when Killers leave and I end up having sat in a queue for 5 minutes for basically nothing, and I don't like when a teammate leaves and it makes the game unnecessarily harder. Not to mention the D/Cs for hatch (which will be gone with the next update, woo!). People still D/C in my games but at least it's not as frequent as when the penalty is turned off. But, everyone has their own view and opinion, and that's fine!

Nobody's saying they should be free. They're saying the prices could be more reasonable. The volume of sales if anything would go up.

Exactly! A Legendary Survivor is actually worth less than a simple $10 skin because at least you can mix and match with the skin, and you can't do that with your Legendary. If they were priced the same as a $10 skin it would be a lot more reasonable and they would sell a lot more for sure.

@GoodBoyKaru , my answer remains the same and I'm not going to repeat it. I'm not ragging on BHVR at all for the price of Legendaries, like I said I'll be purchasing one by the end of this month. There's no need to defend them so adamantly! Just pointing out how odd the price disparity is for the content that you're receiving.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2547017#Comment_2547017

Once more I ask, expensive skins or expensive characters? Because you cannot have both, and legendary characters are skins above all else.

(also some lore does change, actually).

Umm, my answer is still the same... I'm fine with "expensive" skins for all other characters because it's appropriately priced. But $15 for basically another Survivor with minimal changes is still wacky. If they were more appropriately priced, say $10, that would be a lot more reasonable and in line with DbD's average skin pricing.

And it's also not really appropriate to compare the handful of Legendary skins in the game with the larger amount of chapters available for purchase (not to mention that the Legendary skins only affect one character per chapter). Just doesn't seem like a proper answer to my question, not that I'm really looking for an answer--just pointing out the odd price disparity.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Okay so, this is a company and must make their money somehow. We can agree on this one, yes?

So, I ask you this question: would you rather the chapters be cheap, or the skins be cheap? You can have one or the other, but not both.

The answer to this question will probably answer the entire post

I understand what you're trying to say, but I kinda feel like that comparison isn't quite right. I have no problem with non-Legendary skins for Survivors and Killers costing $10 on average because that's just regular pricing for games these days, like League. Not to mention I feel like DbD skins are more worth your money than say, League skins because you can see more of your character on DbD than League allows. But with $15 Legendary Survivors, you can't change their outfits and they will always look like that one Survivor, unlike the $5 Survivors that you can customize extensively. It just seems pricey for buying another Survivor minus the perks and even seperate lore.

  • My favorite thing is all of the different Survivors and Killers in the game, especially certain male Survivors and Pyramid Head.

My least favorite thing is probably my average teammates' skill levels on my Survivor games.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2546153#Comment_2546153

You should really read your reply and think about what you just said. You literally just compared survivors leaving through the exit gate (which means the match isn't over for them or the killer yet until they are out) to survivors who are literally already eliminated from the match. That is not the same. I have 1600 hours played in this game. I don't care to wait through the same things when they happen anymore. I should NOT be penalized for leaving the match AFTER my character has been eliminated from the match. The match is over for me at that point.

I did read and think about what I said when I said it. No need to be rude about it. I'm just saying that if the game is basically over (which it is in both cases--I've literally had Killers disconnect while everyone was leaving through the gates), then there is no need to disconnect. An extra not-even 15 seconds is just a weird thing to be concerned about to me, when you can just take a moment to sip some water, stretch and then be right back in the lobby, queuing up for another game. I'd be advocating for fixes for things that are actually bothersome and take precious time, like getting slugged for the Fantasy 4k. I usually die on the ground when that happens... 4 minutes of inactivity!

But anyway, back to my original point: Are you sure you aren't just taking it badly when you get sacrificed? I mean, it sucks to not get the 5000 points but it's really not that bad if you're not playing competitively. No offense meant of course, you can play however you want but it is more frustrating to get sacrificed when you're playing to win all the time.

  • MMR was working fine for me but lately I've been getting the worst games. As Survivor, I consistently get new players and people who hide in lockers all over the place while I myself actually know how to play the game and have almost 1000 hours. And when I play Killer as my main, Pyramid Head, I get noob Survivors who have no idea how to loop and go down instantly in chases.

Is MMR based on escapes and kills? If it is, that's a terrible system. For Survivor, it should be based on how long you last in chases, gens completed, heals performed, unhooks, e.t.c.. And for Killer, it should be based on hits, hooks, keeping the game going and effective use of your Killer's power.

When MMR first dropped I was having good games. More consistent skill level with the Survivors and Killers in my games. But now I feel like I'm in a worse spot than before... at least before MMR, I was getting all red ranks often in my games as a rank 1 Killer and Survivor. Now I'm getting obvious noobs and inexperienced players from both sides. It's a little frustrating.

  • No offense, but are you upset at how long it takes to be sacrificed, or are you upset at how many times you're seeing yourself being sacrificed in your games? I can see people being upset at seeing the sacrifice play out because they see it often. Still not a good reason to allow D/Cs at the end of your game though. With that logic, the Killer would be allowed to D/C because all of the Survivors are leaving through the gate. It's unnecessary.

  • I'd miss any map that would be slated for removal, so yes I will miss Hawkins. For my own personal experience however? Not terribly. I don't like the absence of windows, save for the top floor, and I'm not a big fan of constantly looping simple pallet loops or holding W, then ducking into a room once the Killer catches up to me. I do like that one room with two pallets and the small raised area you can walk on between them!

On the Killer side, it's kinda boring for me. The only time I like playing on Hawkins as Killer is probably when I used to main Nurse!

  • I had it happen for the first time ever on a game a few weeks ago. I was playing Pig and had a really good game going but it kicked me out for no reason while my internet was still working just fine. It wasn't Tuesday (Steam maintainence day) either. Thankfully, that's the only time it's happened to me in almost 1000 hours so I'm not too upset about it!

  • I roll my eyes every time. And then I end up mori'd because some genius decided to unhook the 5th Survivor while I was being chased, far away from the hooked person.

My eyes nearly get stuck in the rolling position when it's a Killer with a garbage mori... and it usually is. I just want to see good moris like Pinhead's and Myers', not Pig's and Spirit's... 😢

  • I love using Deathbound. It's been one of my favorites ever since Pyramid Head was released! I also like using Spies from the Shadows from time to time. And I do enjoy using BBQ but I haven't unlocked it on all of my Killers yet (I just unlocked it recently, even though I've been playing Killer for ages...).

But no, I don't use information perks every Killer game. I do enjoy using them frequently though... especially Deathbound! 😍
