  • I like playing against Doctor, Pinhead, Bubba and Nemesis. The rest are fine except for Spirit and Nurse, however I've been playing against Pig and Freddy so much lately that they're beginning to wear on me...

  • You can probably create a support ticket for it instead.

  • I got slugged while the Killer went to deny my last teammate the hatch. I started crawling as soon as I went down... the hatch spawned a little ways away from me right in my path! Thankfully, I was in BBQ range so he returned to the hook and couldn't find me, and I slithered out the hatch and earned that juicy 7.5k points 😛

  • I think the question is, what is a fair match to you? I'm pretty sure they intended the game to be balanced around 2k + 2 escape and I've honestly been seeing that in many of my games, be it Killer or Survivor. Teammate skill levels (for me) are currently a little better than before the new MMR as well.

    I like playing against Doctor

I love playing against Doctor too and I never see him. A well-played Doctor is a nightmare! And his laugh is amazing 😍

  • Trickster's appearance is already pushing it for me... I think this would put me over the edge. 😛

  • I think poor attitude is the biggest issue here and for many other players. Yes, people are going to be silly in the video game and try and get a rise out of other players, but if you have a better attitude about it it wouldn't affect you nearly as badly. And honestly, if you played more Survivor (solo is particular), you would see the frustrations that Survivors have to endure as well and have a little more understanding as to why they do some things. Not excusing excessive crouching or beamer-clicking but sometimes it's nice to let out a little frustration, just like when Killers give a little smack on the hook.

Every game is an opportunity to improve your own skills, practice with the Killer you're playing and try new builds or addon combos. And most importantly, it's about having fun. If you don't pay attention to people crouching, clicking their beamers or other gestures and just focus on your own gameplay I think you'll have a much better time playing the game.

  • Kinda being a baby here but... when they nerfed being able to fake with Pyramid Head's M2 I was pretty sad. After coming back a couple months ago, I've gotten used to it but it still feels a little clunky. I can see why it needed a nerf though, it was extremely strong and a little mean to be able to cancel your M2 into an M1 so easily!

  • It still works but I would do Head On and then DS rather than the opposite. Much easier to use properly... definitely speaking from personal experience, hehe.

  • I personally use perks because I enjoy the ones I use... you might be able to win the game without perks but that's not my objective. My objective is to have fun. There are plenty of fun perks to use in the game; Diversion, Blast Mine and Flashbang, any exhaustion perk, Deception, Red Herring and all kinds of other perks. I've been enjoying using Repressed Alliance + Sprint Burst for a little trolling with my nearly finished generator, and I love using Deathbound and Monitor & Abuse on nearly all of my Killers.

When you play a game like Dead by Daylight ONLY to escape or achieve the 4k Fantasy, you're inevitably going to be salty and disappointed. If you play to have fun and try different perk builds or Killer powers, you'll have a much better mental and actually enjoy your trials despite the outcome. Continuing to argue whether Survivors or Killers are the power role is a complete waste of time and only detracts from what is supposed to be occuring--enjoying the Survivors and Killers you play and the perks you use.

That's not to say that people shouldn't point out obvious imbalances on either side, but those instances should be handled maturely and logically without demonizing one side or the other.

You did see how I stated often unnecessary not always unnecessary

Well, I was replying to OP, so no I wasn't exactly paying attention to your comment... sorry 😛

But even then I would say it always depends on the situation. In all my games, I can't make a definite statement on it being unnecessary or necessary. I would honestly say however that I've found it to be more necessary than not.

I always hate it when I hear "I do it because it looks better".

Tru3 put a video on youtube about it last week showing how you can do this to Ghpstface. Same as you I never actually thought about Ghostface till I saw this.

With stretch res he also points out that during your blink fatigue with Nurse you can actually see the survivor quite well which is a massive advantage for Nurse's.

I can definitely confirm that about the Nurse advantage, I used to be a Nurse main and started using stretched res for Survivor a bit before that. Kept it on for Nurse and it was a huge help... not very fair at all of course. Thankfully I quit using stretched res last year because it really is a hugely unfair advantage.

    Yeah, healing is unnecessary... sure...

Not meaning to be overly snarky or anything but I think it comes down to game awareness more than the action itself. I was only a couple seconds away from being fully healed, and I know I can't communicate that effectively but it still sucked that she didn't touch me for at least one second to see I was near full health. And yeah, I could have played that better, but it still sucks when something like this happens. It's not the first time that if we had been a little more altruistic then the outcome would have been better.

I personally prioritize healing over generators (in proper situations) because I would rather not have me or my teammates run around exposed while the Killer has clearer priorities, i.e. only three gens left to patrol. I'd rather be able to take a hit and bodyblock for my teammates than get the generator done a little faster and be one hit away from a faceplant.

I literally just played a game yesterday where no one would heal me because they were too busy with generators (I was chased by the Huntress most of the match, didn't go down though), and I ended up being unable to take a hit for my teammate and they went down outside the exit gate and I got forced out. Instead of making a flat statement, telling people to not help out their teammates in an endgame scenario, maybe encourage analyzing the situation and making better calls based on game knowledge and situational awareness.

  • I know, it seems like all I'm playing against are Blights, Nurses and Huntresses... I wish I could play against normal Killers again. At least against the Huntresses it's an easy game, but ugh... very boring

As long as people feel like they can only have fun by achieving the Fantasy 4k every game, I guess that's all we'll be seeing in mid-to-higher MMR. I personally don't care and only play Killers that I enjoy, not worrying about whether they can handle a 4-man SWF sweat team.

  • In my experience it would probably be either Hag, Twins or Billy. Sadly, I see more Nurses than those three combined... typically with Agitation, Starstruck and Distressing... 😶

I would like an original map as well. A lot of the licensed maps ended up unpleasant to play on and/or is super unbalanced.

I know, it does seem like most of the maps are unbalanced that come with licenses. Lampkin Lane, RACCOON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT (ugh), Hawkins... even Midwich is more Survivor-sided but at least I still enjoy playing that map even as Killer. I do enjoy Badham as both sides though.

    @Huge_Bush said:

I hope they give us 4 original maps in the next year. All the maps feel the same and it's gotten boring. My favorite map at the moment is Ormond, only because I rarely see it and because it's so different from the other maps. Being easy on the eyes helps too! Unfortunately, it seems like new maps break the game so I don't really have much hope.

Exactly! Four seems like a good amount since we've gone for ages without a new one. And I do enjoy Ormond but I don't see it... ever!

And it's so weird that Dead Dawg is suddenly breaking apart... it was fine for quite some time, then I come back a couple months ago and it's all over the news. Hopefully they're a little less ambitious with their next maps and we can get some solid additions to the roster.

It’s a shame that cosmetic costs money. I’m trying to save money right now but I’m so tempted to buy it.

I know, cosmetics are really expensive. I personally vow to not spend real money on pieces that I can buy with shards, despite the fact that it will take me eons to save for them! It helps me feel better about buying cosmetics for licensed characters like Cheryl 🙂

That’s a cool combination right there. I’ve tried many combinations on her and she really does have a lot of good cosmetics.

Thanks friend, and I definitely agree! I'd purchase the Seaweed outfit and do a little mix and match if I played her more often 😛 Love the bubbles that appear with the outfit pieces!

  • Her gameplay might need a tweak, but she definitely has great cosmetics, especially her Nyx and Seaweed outfits! And her archive outfit too!

Best lobbies I've seen for sure!

  • NO! I've played enough feeling pressured to take certain perks that I've quit completely! I run what I want and enjoy my games no matter the outcome. Even with me getting slugged most games so the Killer can fulfill their 4k Fantasy, or with gens popping because the map we went to is too big for me as Killer, I use what I want because I want to have FUN!!!

Not the Huntress outfit... I see it almost every game and I hate it at this point 😡

His pallet addons got fixed so I guess people went back to playing him for a bit

I guess it's a nice break from the typical Blight, Huntress and Nurse... but I do hate getting hit by the extendo-claws through windows. 😛

    Screenshot_1.png
  • Blight, Huntress, FREDDY RECENTLY and Nurse. Seriously, what's up with all of the Freddys all of a sudden?

  • Those sound good, I like the shared items one especially. I've always thought a great idea would be to have all perks that you have unlocked ready to use on all characters regardless of level, starting at rank 1. That way you could pick up new characters much more easily and feel more inclined to play Survivors/Killers that you don't want to level up yet.

I also think there should also be more points awarded for simple actions in general. Maybe even make the first action you do to each unique Survivor award bonus points as well, like for each unique chase the Killer starts they get twice the points for that action, or for each unique Survivor you heal you get twice the points and so on. It would encourage more teamplay from Survivors and encourage Killers to go for each Survivor in turn, as well as giving more points for normal gameplay.

  • I expect any Killer who's friendly at first to turn sooner or later... however, I can gladly say that I haven't had a Killer turn on me yet in the past couple years. I would say the one I'm the most suspicious of is a friendly Doctor, but most of the "nice" Killers I've played against have been Doctors. He's still just suspicious to me... 😶

  • I usually have the same look on my face as him at all times. I love the little snarl he does with the chain idle in menu too, something I find myself doing often when I'm annoyed or disgusted (especially when playing DbD... hehe)!

  • Any perks on Survivor... doesn't take much for some Killers to say "sweaty tryhard SWF" against my team of solos with non-meta perks and fun builds. 😛

  • I've always thought a good (but funny) idea would be to teleport the hooked Survivor to the furthest away hook, like Pyramid Head's cages. The requirement for activation would be that the Killer was just straight-up facecamping (or within 6 meters of the hook at least) for 15 seconds and there were no Survivors within 12 meters or so. It would ONLY affect Killers who are just straight trying to keep someone from actually playing the video game and not Killers who are being forced to camp because of Survivors swarming the hook. It already works this way for Pyramid Head's cages, why not hooks in general?

And yes, I know that PH's cages only have one "unhook" point and don't interact with hook perks (which is more of the reason why they make it teleport and hid the aura), but still. It would ONLY be a detriment to weirdos who think it's "fun" to keep someone from interacting with the game on any level other than hitting skillchecks until you're back to campfire.

  • please no more.. (2).png

I used to be Chex: Mix and always had at least one person a lobby comment on it! Then I started getting tunnelled by Killers relentlessly for being a "name tryhard" so I went to my regular name... 😶

  • C'mon man, don't get my hopes up like that 🙁 I'd buy that in a heartbeat

  • I got Billy, Oni and Cannibal... I don't play Billy or Oni, only Bubba every now-and-then and I'm a Pyramid Head main! He was number 20... Lol

Pig of course use the most OP killer in the game🤨...just kidding🤣.

Legion is fun at first but once survivors know to split up he just becomes an m1 killer😭

hehe... most OP Killer according to my teammates half the time 🙄😛

And I know! You can't quite go full feral with his power when Survivors smarty up, but it's still decent to frenzy one Survivor at a time and get the down!

  • I mainly play Pyramid Head and have recently picked up Pig as another main! Legion was the first Killer I played and he was my main for a while, but I still enjoy playing him every now and then.

Right after I read this my teammate cleansed a Haunted Ground versus a Blight with Retribution. Guess who went back to lobby right quick...

  • @Dr_Loomis said that it can be done by equipping Power Struggle and Decisive Strike and then using DS on the Killer when they pick you up. I'm going to try it myself soon!

  • I like Dead Dawg for both Killer and Survivor but I only like Midwich as Survivor. Midwich for Killer = Survivors hold W down the hallways. 😶

Even without said stuff I was at nearly 31k points. You rarely get that as survivor. Meanwhile as killer all you need is a 2k with lots of chases and hooks.

I literally just maxxed out my points (32k) earned as Survivor for the second time ever in a match last night out of 900+ hours of play. Killer wasn't farming, either! Meanwhile I've earned 32k innumerable times without sweating or concentrating hard as Killer. It's hard to earn points as Survivor...

Not to mention that Survivors get 5000 points for escaping (plus 1250 for opening the exit or jumping out the hatch) while Killer gets 2500 for killing all 4 Survivors, and meanwhile I still get 25k average on my Killer games without killing all 4 and I only get around 20-23k average on my Survivor games with escapes. Without escapes? Around 15k.

If anything, Survivors should get more points for their standard apparently being 2-3 not making a whopping 5k points by escaping. I honestly wouldn't care about escaping that much as Survivor if it didn't give so many points and I could make points more easily in other ways.

  • I think it's balanced where it's at, it's possibly the best healing perk in the game if it works properly and unlike We'll Make It it doesn't have a prerequisite. Part of what makes the perk balanced is the fact that it is RNG whether you'll stack it or not, and if it wasn't so RNG dependent then you'd see everyone and their mother running it.

Funnily enough, I just used Autodidact last night with Blood Pact and had decent results with it, even though I got 0 skill checks on my first Survivor! The Killer had Sloppy Butcher and it just blazed through those added heal times.

  • You can set your profile to private on Steam to avoid that, but they can still see your name and picture, so it's not really a good fix... it does get annoying when you play against someone, give them big loops and they throw a tantrum over it and tunnel and/or mori next game.

  • Funnily enough, just used it in a game and found a pink key and a green key. I also used a green luck statue however!

I also won 99% of my games against red ranks….most of them are still bad.

I mean, it's easy to call Survivors bad because they get clapped by good Nurse gameplay when that isn't the case. A well-played Nurse has little to no counters except stealth and distance. Nurse does bypass normal looping, windows, walls and pallets so it's not really a surprise why Survivors aren't able to play against her effectively when she's played well.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2495020#Comment_2495020

That’s because you are used to playing her against bad survivors. Try that at high mmr and tell me it’s easy.

I played rank 1 Nurse... against rank 1 Survivors... many actual SWF death squads as well. Obviously I know the difference between baby players and actual high-tier gameplay 😛 I even have several videos from back then as well!

  • Number three looks familiar 😏 But I definitely agree, I suggested this about a week or so ago and I think it would be very healthy for the game. That and adding a reasonable cooldown to Tinkerer so it's not too oppressive on certain Killers.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2494678#Comment_2494678

I notice nothing wrong because survivors can still play mind games by running back, faking a run back, and breaking her line of sight. Counterplay exists, survivor mains just don’t want to adjust their play.

I dunno man, those things never worked on me when I played Nurse (former Nurse main). And I never even used range addons... just smaller blinks to reliably catch my target. Worked every time, even on indoor maps like Lery's. I can only say that the maps that I had trouble on were giga-sized maps like Groaning Storehouse and Ironworks.

Things like running back and faking only work on bad Nurse players who have either just started playing her or can't improve.

  • I think adding a cooldown to Tinkerer would be a more viable option. Maybe 60/45/30 seconds? I could see good synergy with that and the new Spencer perk that blocks the next highest progress generator when one is completed. Then it wouldn't be as oppressive on Killers like Blight and Nurse while still being useful for everyone.

  • @Fobbo said:

Why were you looking there anyway?

I was just swivelling the character and noticed it... 🙄😏

  • I dunno man, I'm having way more fun with the game now that there is no ranking and I can't depip. Killer facecamps me? I laugh and watch YouTube or my teammates pop gens. Killer tunnelling me? I use it as an opportunity to improve my skill and then move on to the next game. Survivors fly through generators on a large map? I focus on individual chases and use the perks I enjoy.

As much as I told myself that ranking didn't matter, I always had that stress in the back of my mind that I needed to be a high rank to get good teammates. I hated depipping from being facecamped or tunnelled to death, or feeling stressed about gens popping. But now that my individual skill is measured and THAT is what determines my teammates/the people I play against, I'm very happy and can finally play without that rank stress.

Maybe take a break and find a new goal for playing the game, or play a real competitive game instead.

He can actually deal with pallets and windows really well now. The movement speed is so dumb that even with Yellow add ons I can just catch up and block the pallet drop or window vault lmao. You can do this previously before but IIRC that required at least purple add on but now the tech is pretty consistent.

Exactly! I came back to DbD about 2 months ago and hadn't played against him since the before the buff, and he's bonkers now. I'm actually nervous when I get him on a big map because looping is unreliable against a good Wraith now.
