    Oh boy, where to begin.

The two big bugs are the ones that disable your blinks for the rest of the match or one blink for the rest of the match.

If you ignore the bunch of deadzones that still exist on various maps then there are still the lunge denial after blinking, the double fatigue bug, the basement blink bug, the distance variation bug, the sensivity changing bug and a bunch of little bugs as a topping.

She's on a level with GF with all her bugs.

Consider yourself lucky, I don't think I've played a single match in the last month where I didn't have at least 1 bug, 3-4 is usually the standard per match for me.

That's strange. I've really never encountered any bugs (especially the ones mentioned by @NursesBootie after lots of games with her ((I mainly play Nurse and Legion, purple rank)) ). Maybe it just varies from build to build. If you watch DbD compilations, you'll know that consoles and other countries have a time with bugs, so I'm not saying that the game is without bugs, however I'm in the U.S., and I usually don't encounter bugs on my games, rather just poor connections (like when the Huntress hatchet hits you from around the corner--that's just the killer's poor connection). I know I had a couple of issues when I used the flannel a while back, but after I quit using it I haven't had a problem.

I also know that people are quick to label things as bugs when they're not actually bugs.... not saying you all are lying at all but things can be misinterpreted in the heat of the moment. I had a "bug" where I tried to blink through a wall but I stopped behind it, but it turned out to be a boundary wall near an exit (Suffocation Pit) and I'm pretty sure it's intentional that you can't blink through it. Uhhhhh how about the other 3 survivors finish the gens and get out? That killer doesn't get any bloodpoints or ranks up.

Face camping is not a problem. Only the weak killers do it and the newbie survivors fall for it. Have you seen a popular streamer face camp someone unless they pissed them off?

    cringe.jpg

This picture is a couple months old, but this kind of behavior still happens in the high ranks.... maybe not as often but it's still there. Poor Dwight was found at the start of the game and camped until he died. Even with the three of us stacking generators to get out quickly, Dwight died and the bubba found Nea and camped her afterwards. Zarina unhooked her but it ended with me and Nea leaving and Zarina being camped to death after she saved Nea.

Killers who do this in the higher ranks usually don't care about points, and that's what makes it even worse. And you can see that killers like this guy (he said the GG) do this just to ruin peoples' games. He didn't care about the points or rank, he just wanted to be a toxic jerk.

My point is is that even when rushing the generators after someone's being camped, everybody usually loses anyway in one way or another. Be it time, pips, e.t.c.. It's not always as simple as just "rushing the gens and leaving", sadly.

  • I think the perfect thing to stop teammates from unhooking you in front of the killer would be a button to prevent being unhooked. I can't even tell you how many times something like that would have come in handy for me. I know that some people would abuse it to be rude, but who would go for the person on the hook after they troll with it a couple of times? I think they would cut it out after they realize that their teammates would rather leave them than be trolled.

The insta-down after being unhooked (especially when your teammate doesn't have BT) really is a problem though. And it's not being helped by youtubers like Monto perpetuating that kind of behavior in their games. It's not your fault that you got unhooked right in front of the killer.... isn't really fair that you go right back on the hook due to your teammate's bad decision. And sadly, that happens in more often than not!

  • I've been playing Nurse a lot lately and I haven't encountered any bugs to my knowledge. What bugs does she have?

  • My brother has the same mindset as you, and I think it's a wise one.... I like DbD in small doses, about 3-5 games per day with only 1-2 of them being killer, but no more than that! It keeps the game a bit lighter for me 😎

We should also tweak decisive strike users being able to hop on gens or grab a locker? That has no counter play either?

Believe it or not, you don't HAVE to grab the survivor when they're sticking a gen or hiding in a locker.... when they stick the gen, just lunge to down them instead of grabbing them, and leave them until the DS runs out. Or better yet, just take the DS and then get them anyway, since they only have the capability to get about 20 meters away from you before the stun wears off! And for the locker DSers, I just stare at them and leave and wait for their DS to run out (or take it anyway as well)! It usually works out 😎

Oh and why don’t survivors just leave? Why do they wait EVERY SINGLE GAME. Not once have survivors just left the game as soon as they opened the gates. I have a bad game every now and then with the killers I’m good at and every single time survivors don’t leave. They want to chase me down or wait at the exit gates to tea bag. ######### is their problem? Just leave, you won. Get to another game and stop holding the killer hostage in a game they can’t win, that’s bs. I think the exit gates are ridiculous. Screw this end game timer. Once you power the exit gates anyone alive is out and anyone hooked is dead. Survivors hold the game hostage every single game.

That really is super annoying. I myself wouldn't want to be forced out of the game as survivor because (depending on how close the killer is) I generally wait on the exit line and let the killer get free hits for points (without crouching or clicking flashlight), but sadly that's not the majority. I don't know why crouching up and down is so entertaining to these people, just like some killers feel entertained by hitting people on the hook, but it's just childish and ridiculous behavior. It's not like when you outplay your EQUALLY MATCHED OPPONENT on other competitive games and give them a little crouch-spam, toxic DbD players just take advantage of the fact that there's only one player tasked with stopping an objective from being completed by four other players, or (on the flip-side) the fact that you are at the mercy of the big baddie with the weapon.

  • I know that for me (PC, U.S., red rank survivor and purple rank killer), survivor queue times fluctuate throughout the day. If I get a game during the day, it only takes about thirty seconds (not more than a minute at most), but survivor queue times in the evening range anywhere from a minute and a half to three minutes or more, and I rarely get matched against red rank killers. However, no matter what time of the day I play killer, I usually get into a game in twenty seconds or less (half the time it only takes about ten!), and I rarely get matched against green or purple ranks, mostly red. I think this is due to the fact that a lot of SWF groups get together and play in the evening, and since red rank for survivor is pretty easy to obtain, there are a lot of SWF groups in red rank, and not enough red rank killers to go around, so the matchmaking pulls killers from purple, then green, and so on. Sadly, if they didn't do that, then it would take ages for higher ranked survivors to get a queue in the evening....

They should make it so that you go back further on rank reset.... I only went back from 1 to 5 and that's only one rank away from red rank AGAIN. It's just way too easy to get red rank on survivor. If you're a Global Elite on CS:GO, then you probably deserve to be there, and the same goes for other competitive games. I'd love for red rank to be something to aspire to, rather than something you get in an evening by completing a gen, getting a couple unhooks and jumping out through the hatch. At least you have to try harder to get red rank on killer, although you will have killers who got there by playing scummy (camping and tunnelling, possibly moris). About half of the red rank killers I go up against play like a red rank should, and it's actually pretty terrifying!

  • I love it but it really should work while injured as well.... I would definitely be using it more if that were the case!

  • I feel like Deathslinger is underpowered. To me, he's just a weaker Huntress, and while I'm not very good against Huntress, I usually have no problem against a Deathslinger. The only problem is when people don't look behind them while they're being chased, or have general awareness of their surroundings!

When you drop a pallet against Huntress, you get hit with a hatchet. When you drop a pallet against Deathslinger.... he can't hit you anymore (with the exception of pallets he can slide around, of course). There are many moments where a Deathslinger can't hit you that a Huntress would easily be able to, and yes, I know that Huntress has feedback when she's raising and charging her hatchets, but the hitbox on her hatchets is much larger and she also has infinite range. And unless you have reload speed addons on Deathslinger, you are punished pretty heavily for missing a shot.

I feel like Deathslinger needs some small buffs, but I don't know where.... maybe make the hitbox larger on his harpoon or something like that!

Thanks guys! Will try to blink to the corners, it's a good tip! And no I won't give up. I use her Plaid Flannel addon to see where I blink, is that good to begin with or do you think I will learn faster without it?

Plaid Flannel is great to start with, as it helps give you an idea of how far you blink with how long you hold the button. I think it's best to use it for your first 4 or 5 games to get a feel for her ability, and then quit using it and try relying on your previous experience! I tried playing her right off the bat without the flannel, and it was a nightmare.... but after playing about 4 games with the flannel and then not using it, I did much better!

I hope it works for you too, and good luck! 😎

Without being in the same room as people or knowing them as a person, how can you 100% know that a person is being toxic?

I drink when i play, i've been told I play toxic when i'm drunk.

There is a window, a small one, where I'm I am not "thinking" anymore. My playstyle shifts to more instinct than trying to play at 10000 brain power trying to mind game. maybe like feral wolverine, where all answers can be solved by adamantium claws πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚...

I'm not in a state of fair play at this point, and not because i want to ruin ppls lives. I'm running on basic instincts with no emotional distractions...

Then i take that one drink too many and it's like a rank 20 killer playing blindfolded 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

I know, I know, you can't be 100% sure that the survivor is being toxic, but I still think that that's the intent of the majority.... it's definitely a common theme for SWF groups, although.... could they be drinking and playing as well? Maybe! πŸ˜‹

DbD is full of some of the thinnest-skinned people I've ever met. Getting infuriated at some pixels moving up and down is truly sad.

What is considered "toxic" on this game is literally standard BM for any multiplayer game, yet nobody loses their ######### quite like people on DbD.

I think the problem is knowing that a player is controlling the moving pixels and is doing it to be a jerk. I don't feel annoyed at the action itself, but more so at the fact that the player feels entitled to behave in such a manner. Especially on the games where I get matched against SWF groups on big maps and don't do very well as killer. Or the games where I see my teammates crouch spamming at the rank 11 Nurse player who didn't get a single hook or even down the entire game and is probably already feeling irritated enough. I wouldn't consider it "toxicity", since it doesn't really affect gameplay, but it's definitely negative and unnecessary behavior.

But, then again, a lot of people get enjoyment out of making other people feel bad. It's just worse in DbD because of the massive disparity between the two roles. Killers are toxic because they feel like they're "above" the survivors and feel entitled to get the 4k, and survivors are toxic because they feel like they've achieved some great goal because they looped the killer and dropped a pallet on his head.

You should probably see it from their perspective.

If you're playing survivor, if a game isn't going your way, you can just die on hook rinse repeat onto the next game. If you're killer and the game isn't going your way and the survivors are rubbing it in your face, you have to play and you have to take it until the game ends, if you just go AFK the survivors will just sit there in front of you gaining chase points, so you have to play. If you DC you get penalized.

This is a game that is very heavily survivor sided, which is why other asymmetric games are starting to pop up and actually gain some traction. I've tried to get people to play this game with me but they won't because this game is notorious for being heavily survivor sided. What makes it worse is that the community, especially the survivor community since it tends to attract the lowest common denominator, is extremely abusive and toxic.

The killer in this game really can't do anything to rub it in the faces of survivors because the devs have made such actions bannable under the guise of 'holding the game hostage.' The killer is forced to take any abuse the survivor team wants to dish out and they are forced to do it throughout the entire match. Now expand this to multiple games in a row and it's understandable that anyone would be a little upset over it. I don't know what rank you are, but as a higher red rank killer, about 80% of my games are like this, and during peak times, I'll go through about 5-6 hours straight of this with SWFs. All a killer can do is tunnel and camp, which means the other 3 survivors escape.

As a high rank survivor, I've never really been bothered by killers doing anything, because it only takes about 2 minutes worth of work to pip as a survivor and if the game isn't going my way I just bail. There's a very good reason why the majority of streamers that stream this game are survivors, because you don't need to pay full attention to this game and you can still be a top tier survivor. Killer is just exponentially more frustrating and much more demanding in terms of attention. You have to actually try to be a high rank killer, on the other hand you don't really need to try at all to be a high rank survivor.

I completely agree. If it says anything, I've actually been playing solo survivor (rank 1) to chill out and have fun testing random perks and item + addon combos. Killer can be nerve-wracking for me, especially in the higher ranks due to the obscene amount of SWF groups. That combined with generators going so fast, resulting in the game lasting MAYBE 5 minutes, just makes for stressful gameplay. I don't even worry about the map I'm on as survivor, since good teammates usually negate any advantage that the killer might have on certain maps!

I'm not asking for the **Big 4k In 5 Minutes**, I just want enjoyable games as killer where I can actually chase someone for more than 15 seconds without hearing 2 gens pop off at the same time behind my back!

  • Is everyone forgetting that survivors can take a perk that lets them keep their item addons if they escape (Ace in the Hole)???

I don't know about anyone else, but I used to mainly play survivor and I felt a bit OP, being able to use 99% of my item with good addons and keep it for at least several games in a row. Now survivors don't have to worry about 99ing, STILL keep their item but lose their addons instead and I think that's fair. Not to mention the fact that survivors have a perk that allow you to keep your addons as well, and killers have to use a black ward to keep theirs. I think it's a lot better now.

Another thing I would like to mention is that, when it comes down to it, items for survivors are optional and addons for killers can sometimes be vital (in the case of Wraith, Trapper, e.t.c.)! I think the only issue is the point disparity between the two roles, since I can make an average of 25-30k points on good killer games, and I barely top 25k on a good survivor game, thus making it harder for survivors to grind out their bloodweb. The big brain solution, however, is to play killer games to level up your survivors. Problem solved!

Also, a couple months ago I went on a spree where I used Plunderer's Instinct for about 30 games in a row. Ended up with 4 skeleton keys, 4 Alex's toolboxes, 2 engineer toolboxes, quite a few flashlights of the higher rarities, and so on, and not to mention many other items that I didn't escape with. Being able to farm items in matches is pretty strong, if you ask me.

  • My only experience with Nurse has been after her rework, and I almost always have good games with her, even against SWF. I think it just depends on the size of the map that you're sent to. I'm a purple rank killer (playing against red ranks since there aren't enough red rank killers to go around), and I generally do well (3-4 kills) on maps that are not the bigger MacMillan's maps, Yamaoka's or Haddonfield (I just find it very hard to end up where I want when I blink on Haddonfield). I don't slug unless survivors are hookbombing, and I never camp or tunnel, nor do I ever use BBQ, so maybe that's why I don't do as well on bigger maps, but I think that's fine. I'm sure the new map size reductions will help her out in that area.

I don't know what the old Nurse was like, but I know that a lot of Nurse players I've been up against make mistakes like blinking at the start of the game (and immediately inspiring all survivors to hide) or just blinking too often in general, making it easier to outplay. If you only blink when you have 2 available and use them wisely, I think Nurse can be very hard, if not impossible to beat (depending on map size, of course!).

I'm not trying to make it out to be like I'm a mega-brain Nurse or a god gamer, just talking about my experience!

  • Thankfully, killers can usually use whatever perks they want (within reason, haha) with decent results, so I don't see anything wrong with your build! Just a bad game with a bm-ing SWF group, sad that people feel entitled to be like that.

On a side note, I've found Thrilling Tremors to help me against SWF groups, and I feel like that would be a great choice on Doctor. Maybe something fun like Thrilling Tremors + Surge?

  • Very nice, glad to see a high-ranked Legion player! πŸ‘Œ

    @ChizuruRU

Unbreakable only works once, whereas you could be slugged indefinitely. So at this point slugging is a luxury for killer not only to create pressure but you can abuse it to camp and use that survivor as bait.

As for killer tactics that I personally find to be abused more than often... Slugging, Camping, Tunneling the unhooked person. Those can be legitimate strats in certain scenarios but just like with DS and BT (Which are only perks) they can also be used in a way that is annoying to the opposite side.

I understand, I have definitely had more than one occasion to use Unbreakable in a game without the ability to use it! Possibly adding more than one use to Unbreakable will probably never happen, but it would be much appreciated.

And yeah, killers can definitely abuse such mechanics, but sadly there's not much that can be done about it. Unlike perks, which can be changed, you can't exactly keep the killer from standing where they want, hitting survivors, e.t.c..

I read this post yesterday: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142744/camping-tunneling-slugging-a-good-solution-for-both-sides -- and I feel like this would at least be something for the survivors who are unfortunate enough to have a toxic killer! So hopefully, something like that could be implemented one day, but until then I guess we'll just have to play around the toxic tactics as much as possible.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

I'll leave you the same advice solo survivors are getting right now about 3.7.0 - adapt, adjust, learn to play the game better. πŸ˜‰

I appreciate your sound advice, but my post is more about abuse of perks, rather than the game being difficult or sided in one way or another. It's annoying to see my teammates as survivor hookbomb with BT and do cheap DS plays just to waste time, rather than playing skillfully and achieving a fair victory. And it's frustrating as killer to play against survivors who take advantage of my fair play to unhook when I take two steps away from the hooked survivor, or force me into situations where I have to slug and keep tabs on the recently unhooked survivor or be DSed by them instead. And like I said in my post, DS doesn't help against real tunnelling in most of my games. After I DS the killer who is tunnelling me, they feel free to down and hook again because I don't have it anymore. I'm speaking on these matters from both killer and survivor perspectives, as I play them both equally and experience these problems from both angles quite often!

And in regards to the new update, I'm definitely excited for it, both as survivor and killer. πŸ™‚

  • @OtakuFreak said:

Except a compotent killer can easily ignore a survivor with BT or DS and go for another, or yet, slug them.

These perks are designed to anti-camp and anti-slug.

I understand, however I'm not against the perks themselves, I'm against the way that they're being abused! I'm fully aware of the way that they're meant to be used and I myself use them in that manner (although I think you meant anti-tunnel for DS?), but nowadays they are being used for stupid, cheap plays, rather than for actual protection against camping and tunnelling.

  • @Kate_cx said:

With Borrowed Time, survivors don't really have a choice but to unhook the survivor immediately after the killer has hooked them if they want to activate borrowed time. This is especially tricky if you're going against stealth killers as their terror radius' can go silent really quickly, which prevents borrowed time from being activated. Borrowed Time basically has it's uses if you're going to farm (which I don't recommend) or the killer is a facecamper <-- that's if you're willing to sacrifice yourself.

Freddy can semi-counter Borrowed Time as the perk doesn't activate in the dream world, so if you're getting frustrated with the amount of players that use BT then I personally would recommend Freddy, however others may choose differently.

I think the problem here is assuming that BT must be activated in games, whereas I think of it more as insurance against a certain behavior rather than a perk to be actively used. It probably won't come in handy every game, but it's still there if you need it (just like Unbreakable)!

And as I said in my post, I would like for them to change BT into a meter-wide radius around the hooked survivor rather than it being based on the killer's terror radius. Then there would be no problem against stealth killers or Insidious users.

Also, I understand that it would be wise to use Freddy to counter these players, however I think we can all agree that feeling pressured to play a certain killer to avoid the current abuse of BT is a bummer. I play who I play to have fun, be fair and earn points, and I'm not having fun or being able to play fairly when people are unhooking behind my back just to use their BT.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The same could be said about many killer "tactics" that are just as annoying.

I'll give you one that isn't even a perk: Slugging.

I understand about slugging, however survivors do have Unbreakable to counter that! And also, good survivors can coordinate distracting the killer and picking up their downed teammate pretty easily, in my experience. I've had many games go well just because the killer slugged me or a teammate instead of hooking and applying pressure, thus keeping me or the teammate from taking a hook state! Tenacity + Unbreakable is especially a good combo for situations like that, or even just one or the other.

Which killer tactics are you speaking of in particular?
