I actually used to use Better Together a lot, but I would often find that my teammates were less considerate than I'd hoped, and would actually bring the killer to my generator while they were being chased. However, I still enjoy using it to attract injured teammates to my generator for big heals! I feel like a lamp when I use Better Together: https://i.imgur.com/ySv2Z8j.mp4 (older clip, but it perfectly showcases it's beauty π)

I've been playing games lately where neither me nor any of my teammates have DS (no Obsession), and it has been non-stop tunnelling nearly every single game. Not to mention the campers, sluggers, moris (especially watch out for those if you have a bunny Feng Min.... or a Yui.... or whoever the heck the killer feels "threatened" by), Forever Freddies, and cheesy anti-heal Ghostfaces who use The Game offerings. Many of my survivor games have been ending with no survivor getting above 10k points, and half the time less than 5k. The worst part is that the killers get next to no points either, but they're only playing to be toxic and ruin peoples' games, so they don't care. I've never had worse games than the ones I've had these past couple of days. And this is in red rank, too.
Yesterday, I actually had a Spirit (TTV to top it off) who tunnelled the heck out of a Kate and a Claudette tell me to take DS if I didn't want to get tunnelled. What? These killers complain when they get DS'ed.... but then tell me to take DS if I don't want to be tunnelled.... instead of just not tunnelling people and being scummy, they would rather survivors take the perk that they hate so much? And then when it gets used on them, they pitch a fit? There are no words.
Fun Fact: Survivors probably wouldn't take DS nor feel pressured to if killers didn't tunnel. I rarely use DS but am feeling pressured to use it lately just to get an Obsession icon on someone's portrait. And I myself (playing killer) am rarely, if ever hit by DS (or Unbreakable and BT, for that matter) because I never go for the unhooked person, nor do I slug, tunnel or camp. It's sad how many killers just want to ruin other peoples' games, and are easily able to do so due to the nature of DbD.

I agree about the Legion out fit! Imagine a whole collection where they all had non hoodie clothing! (Does the day of the dead count as one?)
Kind of, but he and Julie still have head-coverings of sorts :( I just want Frank with no hat at all!

I think that Clown is fun to play, and all he really needs are some QoL updates. Make his bottles travel faster, remove the noise when vaulting (I think someone said they fixed that in this recent patch?), make him move faster in the gas cloud, and maybe add something like being able to reload bottles individually? I don't think he needs a flat-out rework, just some small fixes to make him more viable!

I'm not giving up a single perk for STBFL on Huntress. She is the most build and map dependent killer in the game. The Ruin change hurt her way more than anyone else. She needs both tracking and game slowing perks, she doesn't need chase perks.
I understand, but I myself have been using it properly with great results :-) I use Iron Maiden, STBFL, Sloppy Butcher and Discordance, Bloodhound or Lightborn (if they have flashlights.... I enjoy using different perks to spice up my gameplay), and I have lots of fun on my games. Sure, I don't always get the 4k, but it's not like I'm sweating for the Big Win, and I still get plenty of points with lots of GGs (even from the dead players!) π But, I understand, it probably wouldn't be the best build for the easy 4k.... but at least it's fun!
-
That's actually not a bad idea! I'm always for adding more depth to features in the game, and I think that would be fun to use, although the exhaustion and hindered timers might need a bit of toning down.... π But that's just my opinion! Very good otherwise.

The real issue is..when will you ever hit a competant player from that far in chase..? Let's be real here ^^; 15 meters is quite a throw
I think what it comes down to is that Iridescent Head would only be seen on competent, skilled Huntresses, who can catch survivors unaware and land hatchet throws when they're not expecting it :-) And it would bring Huntress back to what I feel she was meant to be.... sudden death whirling out of nowhere!

Iri coin is useless tho..I wouldnt look to that as a fair change
I personally have never used Iridescent Coin, but I would say that it is useless because of Deathslinger's harpoon range being only 18 meters, and the Coin is only past 15 meters, only giving him a 3 meter range to use it. I don't think it would be an issue for Huntress since she has unlimited range!

I don't see the appeal of STBFL.
Yea it's nice to have faster hit recovery but you have to basically ignore 1 player to use it. On top of that, I'm always seeing Spirits or Freddys with this perk and it's like WHY?!?! They are two of the strongest killers in a chase, you shouldn't need this perk to win a chase. Clown too, but at least with Clown you can make the argument he isn't a strong killer overall so STBFL actually improves his chances. Freddy and Spirit though... I have a hard time respecting these players when they have STBFL. Like how bad are you at chase that you need a chase perk on top of your massive chase potential as these killers?
The only killers I see STBFL being viable are Pig and Demo because they can actually get hits on the obsession with their power and not lose stacks. It makes sense for them. Deathslinger also to a degree, but same as the others, you shouldn't really need this perk to win chases. Plus if your obsession knows whats up they will just not struggle against the spear and either waste your time or force you to hit them.
IMHO, they should change STBFL to only allow a max of 6 tokens, but then hitting the obsession only removes 1 token instead of 2 and change the values from 5% to 3/4/5%. Would make it less cheesey (6 stacks it's pretty fair, 8 is borderline overpowered) and give you more options to deal with the obsession.
I do agree that STBFL is quite OP at 8 stacks, and 6 would probably be better! I recommend trying STBFL Huntress though.... it's the only way I play her and have fun ;-) You can easily just hatchet the Obsession and keep the stacks!

I personally hate BBQ. I've actually never used it myself, as I think it actually detracts from skilled gameplay. Hiding in a locker is pretty selfish whenever BBQ goes off, as unless your teammates are also hiding in lockers when it happens, you just make them easier targets for the killer instead (I instead run towards the hooked person so that I am within the 40 meters, unless I'm the last survivor). I dislike how it is used by killers as a Deerstalker to slug for the 4k, as they simply leave the slugged person on the ground and look for the last survivor, and then easily relocate the slugged survivor. And I personally feel that it gives far too much information to killers like Freddy and Hillbilly, as they can easily travel to people whom they see with BBQ, with little time for counterplay. Discordance is much more fair in my opinion, as it only activates when more than one person is on a generator, and it doesn't give you specifics about who's there. And Whispers is also fine, since it only lets you know that someone is in the area, and not exactly where they are.
I know that BBQ gives 100% bonus BPs at max stacks (which is quite nice), but maybe they could take off the aura-reading and make it similar to We're Gonna Live Forever, i.e. make it purely for BP-farming only! Or, change it so that it shows the aura of the unhooker (haha) for a few seconds after they've unhooked a survivor. I feel like that would be a good compromise.
I know that I'll probably be thought of as a big dummy for disliking and not using BBQ, but I personally enjoy my games depending on my own map knowledge and skill to find survivors, and have reached and maintained red rank as killer without ever having used it! It is truly a more pure experience. To me, having to play around BBQ is tiresome and unenjoyable, and I rejoice when I go up against good killers who are not using BBQ to locate survivors (which are very rare).
-
I understand your point, but I don't think that changing it to modify the hatchet's throwing power or arc would dissuade the toxic Huntresses, as they would instead just roll up on someone, pull out a hatchet and instantly bean them in the back with no issue, which they already do with the addon in it's current state. And I don't think that anyone with any amount of awareness would be hit by a hatchet that is slower-moving and flying in an arc towards them. I think that a much better rework for the Iridescent Head would be to either A. Make it incompatible with additional carrying capacity addons or B. Change it to only be an instant down past a certain distance, e.g. 16-20 meters, similar to the Deathslinger's Iridescent Coin.

I like this idea! It would definitely let people know what to expect when they first get into playing her, especially since she takes great patience and skill to play effectively. Then, Oni would definitely be more appropriate in the "Hard" category, since he is hard to learn to play effectively but not as hard to learn as Nurse.
-
I like this idea, since I'm still unlocking perks on both sides (I only play about 4-5 games per day) and it would really be helpful for the Big Levels. I personally find myself playing Nurse and Legion only on killer side since I am pouring my points into survivor teachables and don't have enough to level up killers like Oni (whom I love playing but have basically no perks on him). And I personally don't see anything wrong with More BPs in general, since the levels of your survivors and killers don't affect gameplay or rank placement in any way, shape or form. I know this isn't an issue for the people with thousands of hours in the game, and I know that people like me will eventually get to that place, but this would really help newer players and people like me who don't have hours to play the game distribute points more evenly and get to enjoy other killers/unlock better perks more easily. (And I would feel more comfortable prestiging the characters that I have at 50, since I wouldn't have to spend eons leveling them back up again!)
I know that some people might think, "If you don't have the time to grind, then you don't deserve the points", and while I completely agree with that statement in regard to games like Escape from Tarkov (a person who plays more SHOULD have better gear than the person who doesn't play as much), I feel that DbD is a casual enough video game that it really wouldn't be an issue.
-
I want Frank without a hoodie.... so we can actually see his hair! I just don't see why they have to put the hoodie on Every Single Legion Skin. It makes me think that he's bald, and while there's nothing wrong with being bald, I just imagine him having majestic hair like Steve instead!
A cool outfit for him might be an escaped convict outfit, with rolled up sleeves and tattoos.... or maybe something more casual like Julie's new outfit.... or shirtless without the body paint! If Julie can have a cool new outfit, why can't Frank? He is the best after all.
On another note, how about Beach Clown? Red and white striped bathing suit and all that.... π

I usually dodge when I have a Feng Min on my team, because either A. They are absolutely terrible and/or try and get flashlight saves all game, but they can't land one to save their life (or mine, for that matter), or B. They're wearing the bunny hoodie and the killer puts on a mori. I have been mori'd far too many times because of a bunny Feng on my team, thanks to Monto. Nancys are also some of the most toxic survivors I've ever seen, be it when I'm playing killer or survivor. They love to crouch-spam and gesture when I'm playing killer (and hop in and out of lockers when I'm using Iron Maiden), or they ragequit on their first down when I'm playing survivor. While there are some exceptions to this, including myself, they are very rare.
I would have to say that my favorite teammates are Bills and Jeffs! While Bill is usually pretty good at the game and makes for a dependable teammate, Jeff is nearly God Tier. Jeffs seem to be omnipresent, as they seem to always appear right when you need them. They're usually able to loop the killer while healing teammates and doing gens, all at the same time, and I truly rejoice when I have a Jeff on my team. The best kind of Jeff is a base Jeff, but other Jeffs can be just as powerful. Another surprisingly good teammate is a Claudette wearing bright clothing. Rare, but they've been some of the best teammates I've ever had!
I would also like to honorably mention Quentins. While they are rare, they are usually some of the nicest and most optimistic players on the team. They'll probably be the first to die, but they are always so positive and supportive that I'll take the L for a fun experience with a Quentin! :-)
On the killer side, the most toxic killers are usually Deathslingers, Doctors and Freddys. Freddys LOVE to slug you and shut the hatch in front of you and hit you on the hook, and Deathslingers love to tunnel and are some of the most toxic gamers in end-game chat. I've never had more toxic things said to me than by a Deathslinger. Doctor is kind of in a weird place, because when he IS toxic he is truly one of the worst to deal with, but some Doctors will stop halfway through a game and just start zapping everyone and directing them to hex totems and all that. Strange, but fun!

A lot of people donβt like fnaf because itβs childish but if they look into the story and how it started maybe they will understand. For the killer I think it should be Springtrap who has corpse inside him thatβs still alive. And the corpse use to kill kids and take there lifeβs before the ghost of children corner him and he hid inside the suit. After moving to much and laughing the spring locks go off killing him from the inside as he bleeds out on floor and the door shuts and never been open for 30 years till he can move and start killing again. And yeah I think Springtrap can be the killer
I would love to see Springtrap as a new killer! Since there aren't really any human survivors that they could use from the franchise, they could just make it a Paragraph like they did with Leatherface. Maybe he could have the ability to send out hallucinations of himself, similar to Doctor's hallucinations but they move instead.... π Definitely an idea!
It's sad that people consider FNaF bad and childish just because of it's fanbase.... if you look past the little kids and weirdos, the series really isn't that bad, and is actually pretty interesting and spooky.
-
The hitboxes haven't changed whatsoever, it's just latency and lag.... my brother and I went into a custom game and tested hitboxes (including Huntress hatchet hitboxes), and they're completely fine. Definitely just the killers' bad internet!
However, I do have a suspicion that average height killers (Legion, Freddy, Pig, e.t.c.) have slightly longer lunge ranges than tall killers. I've been hit many times in situations that a tall killer would not have hit me.... but that could just be my imagination π
-
As a survivor, I play half-immersion, half-aggression: Hide when I have to, but not to the point where it would put pressure on my other teammates. I mostly run around and am not afraid to get in chases with the killer, since SOMEONE has to be chased at some point if you want generators to be completed efficiently. I use perks like Fixated or Iron Will (if injured) to waste the killer's time when they come to check my gen after they saw me working on it with BBQ, and I can usually waste around 30-45 seconds of their time when they arrive at my location, since they saw me with BBQ and are certain that I'm around the area. Also, when it comes to seeing someone get chased, I prefer to lay low as well (unless they're on death hook), since the killer will generally slug if they know that someone is nearby and now you're in trouble as well!
As a killer, I would much rather play against good loopers, since a mixed playstyle (to me) is indicitive of a good survivor. I really don't like Spine Chill + Urban Evaders, as they tend to help their team very little, unhooking people and hiding when the killer is on their way (this happens more in the red/purple ranks than it should), or hiding in lockers when BBQ goes off (unless you're 1 of 2 remaining survivors of course, then I do the same!). When I play against survivors who stomp me because they're good at looping or mind games, all I can think is that I would love to have teammates like that in my games, so it fills me with hope for my own solo queue survivor experiences!
Also, I would like to say that I've noticed something.... in my games, people who play male survivors tend to be much better at the game than people who play female survivors! I guess because many people who play female survivors prefer them because they are smaller and can hide more easily, while male survivors are big, bulky and generally quite conspicuous.

I think people just have bad games and come here to vent, be it against NOED, toxic killer behaviors, crouch-spammers or bad teammates.... as well as a multitude of other things. Many people feel the need to share their frustrations with other people, or think that certain things are unfair because they were negatively affected by them (NOED being a prime example, I really don't mind when killers use NOED since survivors can take Adrenaline, but that's my personal opinion), so they make posts to find other people who share their same opinions and grievances.
All in all, this forum feels like a cesspool of angry, dissatisfied gamers because they are the people who will readily post when something bad happens. Just look at the majority of posts that are here and in abundance Every Single Day.... "NOED bad, survivor mains bad, killer mains bad, devs fix your game, remove moris, remove keys, e.t.c.". I say to just enjoy each game as it comes, know that SOMEONE has to lose, and be respectful to the other players in this game. Complaining does nothing, because toxicity exists in every game, and it's just more impactful in DbD (from killer side, at least.... survivors crouching and clicking flashlights doesn't affect ACTUAL gameplay, believe it or not). Just have to enjoy the game and not take it too seriously.... it is just a casual video game after all! π
-
I know the feeling, I've played 90% solo and have gotten teammates like that throughout all ranks, even now in red. Bringing Kindred can be helpful in situations like that, as it helps your teammates see that no one is coming to help you and for one of them to head your way, but that was a pretty extreme situation. Those were definitely just bottom of the barrel teammates, especially bad since they didn't even attempt to help you once you went into struggle, and I don't think much can be done for them!
Sadly, part of being a solo survivor is the fact that you'll get bad teammates at one time or another.... and even though it's frustrating as heck to be left on the hook to die, it's just the way the game was meant to be. However, I do agree that there are too many players who are "out of rank", if you know what I mean.... red/purple rank being full of boosted SWF gamers who have no idea what they're doing when they play solo. I would love to see them do something about this sometime soon.
-
This happened to me today while playing Survivor on PC. Just wanted to put it out there that it's occuring on PC as well!
-
I've been having low FPS issues on The Game map for a long time now, going from around 80 to only about 40-50 fps.... but not only do I have low FPS on that map, but it lags as well. I really don't mind playing on The Game, but the low FPS and lag is a bummer....
-
I have noticed a slightly increased amount of altruism since the update, so maybe other people are thinking the same thing!
-
I personally LOVE using Dead Hard on all of my builds, especially with the reliability of the new vaults. I've never felt more powerful as a solo survivor!
But, other than that, Iron Will and Kindred are both nearly essential to me as well π
-
I'm glad you're enjoying the patch so far! I'm enjoying it as well, played a game against a Mikey for the first time in far too long, and everyone (including the Mikey) was GGing and saying that they had fun (2 escaped, 2 died). I even saw a Trapper, however he took a mori because I got queued with a TTV gamer but he ended up mori-ing me instead.... I guess trying to block the killer from tunnelling a recently unhooked survivor is a sin! And then he proceeded to let the TTV and the other teammates farm points.... other than that, I've been seeing different killers (which is nice, it was annoying to see Huntress/Freddy nearly every game in the high ranks) and playing Nurse on the newly updated maps feels great! And her new breakable wall animation is fantastic! :-)
However, my heart goes out to Hillbilly.... may his bugfixes be swift.
-
My brother and I just tested Wraith in a custom game, and my brother (who is a Wraith main) said that he felt perfectly fine. The bell DOES seem to be a bit more drawn out, but he said that there was no noticeable difference in actual gameplay.

When one spends money on an MSRP for a game, money for DLCs, money for a battlepass, money for cosmetics, you bet your ass that studio owes a fantastic gaming experience. It's called basic business. You charge the money, you put out a proper product. Not these half-assed, bug-ridden patches one update after the next.
Entitled gamer? Not hardly. Not once a gamer's money comes into play. The fact that people even view that as entitled is what's wrong with the game industry today, and why studios like Behavior, Bethesda, EA, and others can get away with the bullshit that they do.
Umm.... last time I checked, BHVR didn't reach into your wallet, take out your card and buy the DLCs and cosmetics. YOU made the choice to spend extra money on the game. And to top it off, you can earn everything that isn't cosmetic, e.g. killers, survivors and perks, through playing the game normally. Any money that you spend besides the base price of the game is of your own volition and does not entitle you to any more than if you had only bought the game itself and nothing more. Besides that, DbD is only $20.... and is frequently on sale for $8.... honestly, they do pretty well by this game for it's price being so low.
Only in the gaming world do people have hissy fits of this nature--being upset when something isn't suited perfectly to their tastes. When you go to the store and buy something, then decide that you don't like or want it, you return it. When you go to the restaurant and decide that you don't like their food, you don't go back (and if the food was ACTUALLY bad rather than simply not suited to your tastes, you write a review). When a gamer decides that they don't like a game, some simply return it or don't play it, yes.... but it seems that many instead whine and complain on forums and reddit threads about how "it's not the way I want it" and "these devs are lazy and don't care", instead of shelving it for the time being and waiting for it to get fixed/waiting for content that you prefer to be added.
I am all for constructive criticism and calling out developers who are ACTUALLY scummy and trying to get over on their customers (I've written some negative reviews for constructive purposes), but seeing people like you make the claim that they are "intentionally" putting out buggy patches is just ridiculous. Like I said in my first post, it is common for new updates and patches to have issues, because they cannot predict how the game will behave on the tens of thousands of PCs that are out there, so they release the update and wait for feedback on new bugs.
I would just like to remind you that, thankfully, we live in a society where we can speak with our wallets (and in the case of gamers, our playtime AND our wallets). If you don't like what a company is doing, don't support them (look at the direction that Epic Games (their store in particular) is heading due to many people disagreeing with them as a company and refusing to support them in any way). Or, instead of throwing tantrums, try assisting the developers in fixing the patch by reporting any bugs that you find.
-
@McLightning said:
I would normally agree with this, but if you know the history of this game, and the situation with *every single update* they release, you have to forgive people for just being fed up with updates being half-assed like this. You would have a point if they didn't release half-assed updates so freaking always. Plain and simple.
You know, the devs can't make sure that the game is going to work perfectly on Every Single PC that this game is installed on.... nor can they know about the bugs that will appear after the patch is released.... that's why they wait for feedback from the community on the bugs that appear so they can fix them. Saying that they don't try on their updates just because there are bugs is ridiculous. I for one really enjoy the new update apart from the bugs, especially being able to vault without snapping back to the window, and the Temple is much more balanced now.
Also, I would like to say, they don't OWE you a * Fantastic * game experience, so don't be an entitled gamer.... just play a different game while you wait for the patch to be bugfixed. You're not being held at gunpoint to play DbD after a patch on day 1.... and expecting the game to be Perfect and Bug Free right after a patch is silly.
-
I only have a problem with Dead Hard when I try to be greedy with it and press it PIXELS before the killer hits me, i.e. they probably already hit me on their screen. Other than that, it usually works when I want it to. I don't think there's anything wrong with the perk itself, the problem is more likely lag and latency.
-
Honestly, my problem with Freddy is not Freddy himself, but the perk + addon combos that people FREQUENTLY use on him. I don't mind Freddy because he's basically just an M1 killer, but nearly every Freddy that I go up against is using double jumprope + Sloppy Butcher + Thanataphobia + Pop + BBQ/Discordance (maybe Dying Light thrown in there somewhere) and it makes playing against him a pain.... but not just a pain.... BORING as heck. And not only that, Freddys also seem to love camping, tunnelling and slugging more than the average killer. And this is in red/purple ranks, too.... very sad.
I'm not an entitled survivor main, I don't want Freddy to be nerfed at all, nor do I think he's busted, but the giga-slowdown build needs to be addressed because it runs rampant in the high ranks and it just makes for cheap, boring games. I would love to go against REAL Freddys who use actual skill rather than cheapo combos to locate and stop survivors. And I'm also tired of killers picking Freddy just because a random TTV gamer is on my team π€
-
I personally love using Save the Best for Last and Iron Maiden on her as base perks :-) Since you're able to hatchet the Obsession, it's a breeze keeping stacks on STBFL, and it's just generally fun to use! For the other two, I generally like to use Sloppy Butcher (with STBFL of course!) and Monitor and Abuse.

The fact that you say her range addons are bad shows that you donβt know Nurse. Range HUGELY helps her in the chase and with her map pressure.
Hmm.... that must be why I get consistent victories with Nurse in purple/red ranks without ever having used range addons. Like I said in my first message, the only thing that range addons do is make it easier for survivors to juke her blinks (in my experience playing against many Nurses who all seem to use range addons). I think people forget that Nurse can simply walk(?) like normal killers, as she's only .15 slower than a survivor, and that she doesn't HAVE to blink to move across the map. In my experience, the less you blink, the better, because it gives survivors less information as to your whereabouts and allows you to get the drop on them more often than not, especially with Monitor and Abuse (which is why I don't understand taking Shadowborn, Monitor and Abuse gives you an FOV increase AND a smaller terror radius, which is always great).
To assume that I don't know Nurse because I call her range addons bad is silly, especially since I do perfectly fine without them. I use pinecone + ataxic respiration or a blink recharge speed addon, use her blinks ONLY when I see survivors and am in range, and consistently have fun, productive games in purple/red rank π

Oh, that's funny because I watch streamers and also watch YouTube channels that can't blink to those areas.
Are you also going to tell me that her loss of her secondary blink ability is a myth?
Aside from the blinks, what else do you want to discredit from my list provided?
Come on buddy, I'll be waiting.
I brought up a YouTuber being able to blink to the top of the shrine because it proved my point, that it IS possible. Being a YouTuber or streamer doesn't automatically make you a god gamer, and does not mean that you can't make mistakes, which is obviously what is happening with the content creators that you watch, because you CAN blink to those areas. It IS possible to do so, and seeing people who are unable to do so does not prove your point, it only proves that those people are blinking incorrectly. It is difficult to blink to the top floor in Hawkins if you don't know where the hallway is, but it is perfectly feasible, because I have done it many times myself, even blinking in front of the Isolation Room. I've blinked up to the Saloon balconies numerous times without any issue. Since I and other gamers are ABLE to do so, it renders your point of it being a "bug" irrelevant, and actually proves that it is an inability on the part of you and the YouTubers/streamers that you watch. Here's a YouTuber I like to watch easily blinking to the top of the Shrine: https://youtu.be/dgSaOuNK5qc?t=590
I actually have experienced the "second blink disappearing bug", however it's only happened to me once in my experience. It vanished after I blinked once, so I waited a few seconds and it reappeared, then I easily caught the person I was originally chasing. It really was no issue at all. I'm sorry if you're experiencing something different and more impactful, but for me it was more of a minor inconvenience, nothing more.
As for the rest of your "bugs", I have never had a problem grabbing people off of things, and the times that I have missed a grab were times that would have happened to me regardless of the killer that I was playing. This is more of a latency issue rather than a killer bug, and I think people tend to forget that they and the other players on their games can have poor connections and thus make some mechanics work improperly. I've never had a problem blinking short distances, and the only times that I've been unable to blink through an obstacle and have instead blinked in place were because my blink did not make it past the midpoint of the obstacle, so it put me on the same side that I blinked from. If your blink does not make it past the middle point of the obstacle, you will NOT go past the obstacle.... it's the same way that Flash works on League of Legends. Here is a clip of me grabbing survivors without trouble, being able to move normally after grabbing and blinking short distances without issue: https://imgur.com/a/xsaJyZk (and yes, that is red/purple rank gameplay, it was a SWF group who used a Hawkins Offering π)
I've provided proof of these things not being real "bugs" (aside from the Saloon balconies and Hawkins top floor, I didn't have a clip with those), and I'm not going to argue with you any more. If you want to continue in your belief that Nurse is worse than killers like Ghostface (really?), Oni and Freddy, then that's up to you. I know that it's easier to blame your mistakes on the game rather than yourself, but once you realize that you have more control over the game than you think, you'll then realize that Nurse really is the strongest killer and that you just have to "get good".

No, it's a literal, blatant, flat out lie.
She's the only killer riddled with bugs, she's heavily reliant on addons, she loses her secondary blink at any given time, without range addons you can't catch up to a survivor holding W.
Want me to provide you with a list of MY knows Nurse issues? I'm a Nurse main, as well by the way.
- She can't blink to the 3rd story of the Hawkins Lab, where that single generator is.
- She can't blink on multiple balconies in the Saloon map.
- She can't blink on top of the Shrine in the Oni Map.
- Grab animations after blinking favor the survivor, so you miss your blink-hit and you get into fatigue.
- After successfully grabbing a survivor you're momentarily stunned as well, meaning you can't walk normally for 2 seconds because the system still registers the slowdown fatigue movement speed loss while you're carrying a survivor, making further hooks a nightmare to get to.
- I already mentioned she loses her secondary blink at any time.
- Servers are heavily against her blinks, meaning you have to hold your blink down for a longer amount of time if you want to even short blink. Short blinking makes you blink in place because the awful servers don't register your blink so soon.
No, she's not "still the best killer in the game."
You can achieve the same amount of kills with Ghostface, Oni, Freddy a lot more easier and at the fraction of the frustration Nurse provides.
Stop kidding yourself and play her at Purple and Red Ranks, I want to see it.
I mainly play Nurse as well and I'm easily able to blink wherever I please. And yes, that includes the Isolation Room on Hawkins, the Shrine on Sanctum, and the Saloon balconies. I also just watched a guy play Nurse and he blinked straight to the top of the shrine, easily! If you're unable to blink to those areas, then maybe that's a personal problem, not the killer. Also, I've never had a problem moving after grabbing people, and I recently played several games in a row where I grabbed people off of generators.
And a well-played Nurse doesn't have to use range addons to "catch up" to people.... if they've gotten far enough away for you to have to blink long-range then you're already playing wrong. Furthermore, range addons don't help you catch people, they only allow people to easily double back while you're blinking and waste your time (which I do frequently, since most Nurses I play against use range addons.... P3 Nurses to top it off). I personally use Monitor and Abuse on her so that I can get closer to people before I start blinking, and it works extremely well. If anything, I would say that she is perfectly fine without addons, and the only addons that you would need to use would be her double cooldown reduction and maybe a blink recharge speed. Nurse is the strongest killer in the game in the right hands, and it doesn't take a genius to realize that--the fact that she is the only killer who can completely ignore pallets, windows, loops, floors and balconies is something in and of itself. I play Nurse when I sense the sweaty 4-man group, with great results π
I think that gamers need to realize that Nurse is extremely strong, but it is very easy to make mistakes as her, and making mistakes as Nurse is very punishing (especially when you start panicking and getting frustrated). It's easy to call her bad because you play against bad Nurses, but since when has the fault of the player suddenly become "the character itself is bad"? You wouldn't watch bronze ranked gamers on League of Legends play Zed, play very poorly (since he's a hard-to-play character), and then call Zed trash.... that would be ridiculous. This is what is happening with Nurse.

This is so true. People are too busy crying about the game and how they want it to be that they don't realize that DbD is actually a pretty good game for $20 (frequently on sale for $8). You always see people crying about perks, behaviors (crouch-spamming? really?), and especially past nerfs, be it to killers or perks (especially Ruin). I personally don't understand all this crying about the Ruin nerf. Pre-nerf Ruin rarely lasted beyond the first minute of the game, and even then experienced players could just power through it with ease. Now it's in the same exact position now as it was before the nerf: Cleansed as soon as possible, or powered through relatively easily. The only way to make Ruin "good" would be to make it a non-Hex perk, but that would be absolutely busted and you'd see it on every single killer.
Which is another point I would like to bring up, is that they nerfed Ruin because it was basically the highest picked killer perk (probably under BBQ still, I dunno) and many killers were leaning on it as a crutch. Now that they've made it into a perk that requires more interactivity on the killer's part (and also synergizes well with perks like Thrilling Tremors and Surveillance), they're changing map sizes and tilesets to benefit more M1-y killers like Trapper and Clown (and with the new update they can use new Ruin as well, not just killers like Hillbilly and Freddy). Killers shouldn't have to take a perk to make the game last longer in the first place, and the changes in this coming patch are taking steps in the right direction.
I firmly believe that this coming patch will be healthy for both sides, because god-windows and multitudes of safe(and safeish) pallets are very unhealthy for killer gameplay and survivor skill level. I've had bad teammates who use god-loops get by because they're able to hold W and press Space when necessary and keep out of the killer's reach for longer than they should be able to, and I've had people use those same god-windows on me and it's incredibly annoying, because as soon as they're required to actually loop on real tiles they go full potato and it's obvious that they're not good loopers without their god-windows. God-windows NEEDED to be addressed, badly. (And yes, camping and tunnelling are a big issue and I hate being camped and tunnelled as much as the next survivor, but those are behaviors and are harder to fix since they aren't necessarily "broken".... you can't exactly keep the killer from walking where they want, hitting whom they want, e.t.c.)
I think that people need to remember that they are not "owed" a Fantastic game experience, most people buy DbD on sale for the BIG 8 DOLLARS anyway, and to complain and have hissy fits over the state of the game is ridiculous. Not to mention that everything that actually modifies the game (survivors, killers and perks) is able to be acquired through normal gameplay. Ever since I quit being a crybaby survivor main, started playing both sides, and realized that this is not even a competitive game and that ranks mean nothing pre-rank 10, I have had much more enjoyable game experiences, stopped thinking about "how I can get the biggest win against the opposing side", and just appreciated the game for what it is. I'm sorry to all of the jaded gamers who have 3k+ hours and complain about the game being "stale", but maybe it's time to find a different game to occupy your time.

Frank for killer, and Steve for survivor.... π

Yeah, survivors will generally tap the generator whenever it's been regressed to keep it from regressing further, so that's pretty normal. In regards to tapping to REPAIR it and not make noise, I have no idea. I don't do it in my games, and I generally check generators that have progress (even if I've recently damaged them), so.... no chance there!
-
I actually have to say that the only time matchmaking is unusual for me is in the evening. During the day, I get fast queues for survivor games against red rank killers, and only in the evening do I see myself being matched against green rank killers. I think this is simply due to the fact that a lot more survivors play with their friends in the evening, and a larger percentage of them seem to be purple/red rank, so they have to pull killers from all sorts of ranks to keep queue times tolerable! I think that's why I get near-instant (no more than 10 seconds!) queues when playing killer and 3-5 minute queues when playing survivor in the evening.
I wouldn't say that matchmaking is broken whatsoever.... I would say rather that the killer-survivor ratio is crazy. The only way to play with your friends is to play survivor or custom games, so it does make sense!
-
I've actually found that being positive toward inititally toxic survivors makes them rethink their toxicity about 90% of the time! However, I don't camp/tunnel/slug(unless necessary in regards to slugging), so I don't normally get angry survivors, even when I play Nurse and Plague.
Some people got mad at me for not letting them farm when I used a Streamers, but I just told them sorry and that I was just doing my job. They all agreed and said gg! Sometimes you just have to be the bigger person.

We get it, but some of us also understand that DbD wasn't built to support good teammates or teaming in general.
Look at raw Survivor gameplay. No in game VOIP, only 60ish seconds of text chat, only 2 emotes, all of that was built to LIMIT coordination and prevent Survivors from being good teammates as Survivors are not suppose to be a "team". The devs have said countless times that they do NOT want Survivors to have an easy form of communication.
DbD was built and designed to make Survivor teams as inconsistent as possible. DbD is balanced around that being a fact and that is why SWF is so strong. SWF breaks that rule by turning a co-optional game into a co-op.
SWF is also holding Survivors back. It makes the game so easy that most Survivors don't need to learn any real skill and can get by with half assed attempts. That in turn fills rankings with potatoes who never learned proper skilled gameplay as they never needed it. This also leads to the popular saying of "ranks are worthless" because Survivor made ranking up worthless due to playing easy mode more often than not.
What you call "logic" in SWF being the only way to play DbD might just be the wrong point of view considering that DbD was, is, and never likely will be balanced around SWF due to it at its core being about 4 random solo Survivors tossed in with a random Killer to see who lives or who dies.
Very well said, my friend ποΈ Yes, you're supposed to assist your teammates in any way possible (you're all in it together after all), but at it's core it's still basically every man for himself. Realistically, you wouldn't be able to communicate with your teammates all the way across the map.... it's not like you have walkie talkies or anything! You'd just be some poor soul, wondering where your fellow survivors are and hoping that they are competent enough to repair generators and not get killed. Solo queue is enjoyable to me because I feel like it is the way the game was meant to be played, and while I have bad experiences sometimes (teammates leading the killer to me, getting tunnelled, e.t.c.), it's still the Real experience. You can't blame teammates for leaving you when the exits are open or running away while you're being chased because isn't that what would actually happen? Survivors are supposed to be scared of the killer and want as little to do with them as possible. Of course, I'm not advocating for overly-immersive gameplay (blendy Urban Evaders.... yuck), but I believe in a balance of aggression and immersion. Hide when you have to, and be chased when you have to, but know how to do both and you'll do very well on your trials.
And my brother and I both have believed that SWF boosts gamers for such a long time. I recall seeing a comment on here somewhere that someone playing SWF managed to get to red rank and their friends didn't even know what looping meant. If that doesn't show you how many boosted survivors are in red ranks, then I don't know what will. I myself am a red rank survivor and I don't feel that I deserve to be there at all, nor do I feel like I've achieved anything in being there.... it's not like I sweated to rank up or anything. And that's sad, because a high rank should mean something, but it just doesn't on DbD.

You need to play old nurse to understand. I myself have put in the time and effort to get good with New Nurse, and here is the problem the we veteran nurse mains have with her. "HER COOLDOWN MAKES HER UNFUN AND BORING TO PLAY"

I'll explain why the current rework is flawed. Firstly, it was supposed to fix her problem of half of her addons almost never being used or even being useful, because we still have like half of them as dead addons. I literally only go for 2 of them now when before I would go for like 4.
Secondly, her chases before the rework required skill on the part of the Nurse AND the survivor. It wasn't easy to juke her but if you knew what to do and where to run it was engaging because a chase that went on for a while felt much more skill based than it does now. Now, you can just run in a straight line if they aren't running the cooldown addons which is braindead level thinking. You can double back almost always during the 2nd blink charge and pretty much guarantee another 2 blinks just to catch up again if not more. Basically it just turned the skillful interaction part for survivors into braindead level strats where anyone can do it if they watch a 3 minute video.
There were so many complaints from Nurse players explaining in extreme detail why this was bad and it was ALL ignored. The only changes that came from the PTB were more nerfs. We threw so many ideas at them that were better and still retained the skill interaction on both parts but it fell on deaf ears.
Yes current Nurse is still strong but it's so very unfun when the game is so stacked against you. I encounter the no blink bug usually every match at some point, the server is constantly giving survivors free escapes and gens even if I've been grabbing them on my screen, and the balance of the game lets survivors with experience bully most every killer that isn't playing perfectly.
- I actually consider myself lucky to never have played old Nurse, judging by the amount of people who are upset with her current kit! Thankfully, I can appreciate the way she is now because I have nothing to compare her to. Her cooldown really doesn't bother me whatsoever, as I know that she would be absolutely busted if she didn't have it. I think the best thing that all old Nurse mains could do for themselves is to forget about the old and embrace the new, after all it is just a casual video game and it HAS been 6 months since she was changed. She really is fun to play and extremely powerful, and I almost always have great games with her, and I still haven't encountered a bug so far!
- I do agree, many of her addons are kind of useless (except for niche/meme builds), but that is basically true for most killers, so I wouldn't say that's specifically a Nurse issue, but moreso just a general issue among most killers. Oni has useless addons, Doctor has useless addons, Deathslinger has useless addons, Legion has useless addons, and so on. I think that an overall rework of most killer addons would be great. Also, the only Nurses who get juked by survivors who run in a straight line are blinking too much. She is ONLY .15 slower than a survivor, and people seem to think that she is so slow that the only way she can keep up with people is to blink. This leads to panic blinking and wasting time. When I play Nurse, people hide because they know that I will catch them as soon as I see them, and running in a straight line doesn't work. So, that is a problem with Nurse players, not Nurse herself. Also, to tell you the truth, game developers will generally not listen to the people who main the character when it comes to changing them because the character mains will generally be biased and not know what is best for the overall health of the game. Many people complained when Oni's flick was taken away (for good reason), and while it was returned, it was nerfed to be more healthy for typical gameplay. However, people still seem to think that he is trash even though he isn't whatsoever, he's just hard to play properly. Same for Nurse. And I don't play perfectly in my games, I still miss blinks and blink without both being available, but I still have fun and manage to win more games than not.
All in all, I'm glad there aren't more people playing Nurse properly, as I feel like survivor would then ACTUALLY be a pain in the rear.... π

The only people I ever see defending the rework are people that don't understand why it's fundementally flawed in the first place.
There was no problem with "spamming 5 blinks in a row" (outside of the 5blink addon combo) because spamming blinks doesn't reward you, you have to aim, time, and predict for every single blink attack otherwise you won't get anything.
If they are insistent on keeping the god awful cooldowns then at the very least we need a slower charge rate instead of zero charge when holding a blink so you don't get 99% because that is just a failure of game design that that can even happen tbh.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea how she is flawed. Hard to play and punishing if you make mistakes/don't play her properly, yes, but not flawed. Please keep in mind that the only experience I have playing her is post-rework, so besides watching videos of old Nurse I only have her current state to go off of. To me, she feels awesome to play, is perfectly viable and is one of the strongest killers in the game. The only time I've had a problem with the blink recharge rate was when I was being impatient and not paying attention to the icon, so I don't feel that that's too big of an issue.
Also, I would like to say that it's basically the same now.... you have to use proper timing and aim to succeed with her current kit as well! However, I don't think that prediction works well with the current Nurse, as I've had much better luck just catching up to the person rather than trying to cut them off. Only blinking when you're able to land a hit and walking(?) everywhere else is definitely key.
-
I don't understand all of this hate on Nurse. I never played Nurse before her rework, only afterwards, and I can say that playing her is the most powerful that I've felt as a killer. Being able to bypass stairs and teleport onto balconies, having 32 meters of blink range, being able to ignore pallets + windows and every loop in the game = bad? I have been able to get the 4k in difficult situations playing Nurse where it would have been impossible for any other killer.
I think the problem here is that people just haven't learned to play properly with her new kit. I know that not being able to blink 5 times without having to wait for them to recharge is more difficult, but it's completely manageable. I know from playing against Nurses over a period of time that the typical Nurse is just too impatient. They don't wait for both of their blinks to be available, they blink too OFTEN (big one there), they panic blink and use them hastily without taking time to be accurate, get frustrated and then all 4 survivors escape. The reason that you don't see more Nurse players is because she takes time to learn and experience to perfect, and many players would rather play easier killers like Freddy. It's the same reason that you don't see more Onis (good Onis at least)--he is an excellent killer, but he IS difficult to play and learn to manage his power properly.
I firmly believe that the New Nurse is far more skill-based than the old (from what I've seen), and a well-played Nurse is borderline unstoppable. You can't just play against Nurse players (even in the high ranks) that play poorly and call her a bad killer because she couldn't catch someone who was running in a straight line. That's just the player playing poorly. I hate the idea of changing a killer because they are "too hard to play", especially on this game, since it's well known that DbD is an extremely casual game and many players don't want to take the time + effort to play a killer properly. Using the flannel a few times helps you figure out where you go with how long you hold the button, and if you know how her blink works, then it's usually your fault when you don't catch someone. After the flannel, using her double -blink fatigue duration addons makes her even more scary. I don't mean to come off as being rude or a know-it-all, but I just want people to look at the fact that she can teleport through floors and obstacles, ignore pallets and windows, and realize at face value that she is very strong and nigh unstoppable when played properly.
I have seen many threads with comments such as "balancing the game around bad/low rank players is bad", which is very true. Why is it then that I usually see threads (concerning Nurse) talking about how Nurse is too hard for most people to play and that she needs to be reworked because of that? Isn't that exactly the thing that needs to be avoided, balancing a killer's skill level around inexperienced players?
-
Very nice post ο»Ώπ These things are almost exactly what my brother and I were talking about yesterday, in fact!
I personally think that one of the biggest things wrong with DbD is the atmosphere. Now, I don't get mad at crouch-spamming and other repetitive, silly behaviors, but.... it definitely puts a big damper on the immersion. When you're chasing someone as killer and look up and see a Nancy and a Feng crouching up and down on top of a hill, it just feels wrong. Watching the trailers, you see survivors being scared for their lives as the killer creeps up on them and kills them one by one, but in game you just see survivors goofing off and clicking flashlights. I know it's just the players who are doing the silly behaviors (I don't goof off like that in my survivor games, and I actually use pointing/beckoning for my teammates and not the killer), but I just wish that people took the game's potential atmosphere more seriously!
-
I'm pretty sure that the Zarina just missed the timing on the blind, as you were still in the pickup animation when she fully blinded you, so it didn't work. I had the same thing happen to me as Nurse yesterday!
As for how the blind looks on your end, I think that's just normally how it looks now, so they might have changed it at some point. It looked exactly the same on my game, and it was an unmodded flashlight as well.

If face camping is happening at high ranks then it doesn't tell me face camping is a problem. It tells me there's a lot of supposed "high rank" survivors that don't know what they are doing. Also it tells me the ranking system in this game is $#%^ed. Face camping only works if the survivors allow it. Were you all working on the same gen when bubba was face camping?
Yes, we all did the same gens. All of us were playing smartly, three-stacked gens and didn't go near Dwight while he was being camped, and we only managed to get three gens done. The killer was free to find someone else with 2 gens left. Not to mention that he had bitter murmur so he knew where we were heading when we completed a gen.
I don't understand the argument of "it only works if survivors allow it", when the killer is the one doing the action (facecamping). Dwight couldn't allow or disallow it, he just happened to be the first one downed and hooked. We stayed away from the camper but another one of us fell victim to it as well, since Dwight couldn't stay alive on the hook forever, and the killer was free to get another survivor.
I rarely (if ever) have teammates who hookbomb against a facecamper, yet all of us still suffer. It's not about allowing or disallowing it, it happens whether you want it to or not. It's the killer's choice, and if they're out to ruin peoples' games, then they're going to do it. I don't see how (especially in this instance) it's the survivors' fault. The only way for survivors to avoid being facecamped is to never be downed and hooked.... so unless you're some sort of god gamer and the killer is stupid (won't break the chase and go after someone else when they can't catch you), you could never run a killer for 5 gens and avoid being hooked and facecamped.
It's also foolish to assume that facecampers wouldn't be in the high ranks if it weren't for unskilled survivors. Obviously they didn't get to red rank by facecamping, as you can see by the killer's points in my screenshot, but there's nothing stopping them from doing it in the higher ranks whenever they want to with minimal consequences. Not to mention that you can be (and are normally) matched against green and purple ranks along with red ranks as a red rank survivor. Facecamping is a problem, no matter what rank it's occuring in, and it's not up to survivors whether it happens or not. Killers are responsible for their own actions and behaviors.
