You have no idea how much I dislike that cosmetic, call Nea's with a close cut hair as Elvis hair Nea's . I will always dodge the lobby if I see one, and face camp them as killer (it's the only reason I will ever face camp).

In custom games I normally play meme builds and let everyone live, but three of my friends decided use the close cut cosmetic on Nea as they knew I hate that cosmetic. I played as Doctor (my main) with iridescent king, mouldy electrode, and an ebony mori.

I've even created a cult dedicated to disliking Elvis hair Nea's. That Bubba may just dislike Elvis hair Nea's too.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/863/U7GF8MT62UJD.png

Please understand that I have like no nice hair for Nea and that's the only one I can stand.... if they would actually add NICE hairstyles for her, I'd use them in a heartbeat! But all of her other hairstyles that I have.... yuck....

At least I'm on PC, and that Bubba facecamped another Nea as well.... maybe he just feels "threatened" by Nea players! πŸ˜‚

  • I actually just had this happen today, and posted the screenshot on another thread:

    Screenshot_3.png

I feel like these Bubbas rank up to play against red ranked Survivors and then pull this stunt to derank people.... truly sad individuals....

IDK I've found that I tend to enjoy the games I get from dodging a few lobbies until I find the right one. Every time I've told myself "Let's just see how it goes" I end up with some toxic little squad of N00b3 wannabes

Then I have to load in as bubba on the next one and mercilessly chainsaw camp or bring an ebony mori to wash away the frustration

Punishing a lobby of completely unrelated Survivors for the actions of Survivors in a previous game.... Lol

This must be why I get facecamped by Bubbas even though neither me nor any of my teammates have toxic names or are using items. Very fun!

    Screenshot_3.png

Please consider taking out your frustrations elsewhere, nobody likes to be facecamped (and deranked) for something they had no part in.

  • I absolutely hate Gas Heaven. I hate playing on that map as both roles. A close second would have to be Haddonfield, and I really don't like the Backwater Swamp maps as well.... but Gas Heaven truly takes the cake. The giant car walls and massive space between generators make for a cheesy win as Survivor and a pain in the rear as Killer. Yuck!

Actually we do, if I see a close cut Nea or even just a basic Nea or a basic Meg I'm out of there. Often they're running self care, urban evasion or even both.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/587/TGHGQBEGCES3.png

This Nea was actually rank 4.

I lobby dodge my own teammates as well, haha.... especially if one of them has a key, has TTV in their name, or is a bunny Feng Min. Gotta stay away from those moris! Although I just got facecamped to death by a Bubba in red ranks, so you can't win 'em all I guess.

And I'll have you know that I play Nea with the Close Cut hairstyle, and I haven't used Urban Evasion in months, nor do I even have Self-Care unlocked for my other Survivors 😏

    >Lery's, Hawkins and The Game are actually the maps that I floor-stomp Survivors

Cool. Would like to learn from you. (Do you have some vids, maybe?)

    >ESPECIALLY don't blink at the start of the match

how long do I keep the blinks off? They probably gonna finish a gen or two, before I walked to them by foot. (Or do you mean it in "don't waste your second blink?")

    >double-cooldown addons

yea... I like distance addons, and sometime gimmiky ones and that screamy one, cuz it's fun... but only on normal maps. I don't wanna change ALL my perks and addons just on the off chance that I'm going to larys

Also, good perk suggestions, I run them pretty often too, except bloodhound. it messes with me juging distance to surv and always feels like a slot wasted.

I actually do have some videos I could share, I can clean them up and upload them to YouTube! (I do make mistakes in them, but I think they could show you how effective it can be to blink as little as possible!) (And I also never tunnel or camp so I think it's some pretty fair gameplay!)

To not blink at the start of the match requires having a general idea of where Survivors spawn and wasting as little time as possible checking areas. Believe me, it's worth getting the drop on the Survivors at the start of the game, since they have no idea that you're a Nurse and they feel a bit more gutsy when the terror radius approaches! And if Survivors are getting too much progress on gens at the start before you get close, you could use Corrupt Intervention--I use that on her often with great results, no matter which map I'm playing on. It helps funnel Survivors more toward your side of the map and lowers the amount of gens you have to patrol for a bit. But anyway, I never blink on any game until I see a Survivor and am close enough to reach them with my blinks, which has resulted in me getting quite a few grabs off of generators at the start of the game!

I myself don't find distance addons to be too necessary, as I instead use Monitor and Abuse to get closer and I find 32 meters of blink range to be adequate for my needs. I think people seem to forget that Nurse is only .15 slower than a running Survivor, so walking(?) after them and waiting for the perfect blink doesn't hurt too much in chases. Hey, better to spend a little time setting up the perfect blink than blinking too much or too far and having to endure undue fatigue!

And I like switching up my perks too, but I usually end up with M&A + Corrupt Intervention + Nurse's Calling + Sloppy Butcher :-) I've found it to work pretty well on most maps that I play on.

  • Lery's, Hawkins and The Game are actually the maps that I floor-stomp Survivors (and SWFs) on. I only play Nurse with double-cooldown addons, so you might want to try those (especially the pinecone!), and don't blink more than you have to--as in, ESPECIALLY don't blink at the start of the match, and try to only blink when you see Survivors (blink to corners rather than blinking to where you think the Survivor is going to be).

Monitor and Abuse is one of the best perks you can use on her (especially on those maps), as it gives Survivors less time to hide when you're going through areas, and Nurse's Calling with Sloppy Butcher also works wonders on those maps. Using a Ruin + Surveillance combo (possibly with the Sloppy Butcher + Nurse's Calling combo) could especially be powerful on those maps as well! You could also try throwing in Bloodhound to keep track of where they're going if you happen to fail your blinks.

Other than that, I would recommend for you to go into a custom game and explore the map from top to bottom, as well as practice your blinks in all areas. Having map knowledge is the best thing you can do for yourself as Nurse (as well as having double-cooldown addons, hehe)!

  • I don't want them to be missing their masks, I would instead like for them to have hoodieless outfits, or at least have their hoods down! I want to see Frank's luxurious hair.... ☺️

  • I honestly believe that the semi-recent update that gave her an extra pool was actually a nerf. She used to have strength in the fact that people were more hesitant to cleanse and would spend more time sick and exposed, but now good Survivors just cleanse as soon as they're broken and they usually all do it at the same time as well. The fact that Survivors can heal an entire health state in 6 seconds through using a fountain is a travesty. This also means that Survivors don't have to spend time healing each other, since they can just heal themselves at a fountain and the other Survivors can go on with whatever they were doing. Think about this: When you play Plague, everyone essentially has a 6-second Self-Heal. And people seem to think that her Corrupt Purge is OP, and while it is quite strong, good Survivors just hide (and cleanse) whenever you ingest it.

If you want to apply pressure through injury and make Survivors fear healing, just play Legion.... he's MUCH better at keeping Survivors injured (and exposed) and his power ACTUALLY keeps Survivors from doing things, not to mention that he ACTUALLY injures people and makes them spend time either healing each other or being exposed! I've never had better games as a killer against red ranked Survivors and SWFs as I do when playing Legion.

However, I do have an idea for making Plague viable for high-ranked play: Survivors stay injured even after cleansing. It would be similar to Legion's Deep Wound, except it wouldn't be as strong since Legion can injure multiple Survivors quickly and Plague can't. This would keep the incentive of cleansing but not undo all of Plague's work once the infection is gone, and help Plague keep up pressure throughout the game.

  • The people who hate flashlights are the ones who don't make sure an area is clear before they pick someone up, or don't know how to face a wall.... even simply facing away from where you believe a survivor is lurking can easily help you avoid the flashlight save! I only take in Lightborn if I see more than two flashlights on the survivors.

The only thing that I ACTUALLY dislike are the double blinds. They're pretty cheesy and should probably be addressed. Being able to blind the killer twice with ease is a rather annoying.

    in Flashlight Comment by Hippie
  • I blame it on the survivor if I'm able to grab them, since it's not that difficult to let go of whatever you're doing and not get grabbed (unless it's a Nurse, Ghostface or T1 Myers, hehe).... 😏

  • I think the Autohaven maps are just lacking crows for some reason.... I played on Haddonfield and Lery's and there were plenty of crows on those maps, but I've been to Autohaven several times and there were no crows whatsoever! I even went around the outskirts and through the middle.... nothing. Wacky!

It must have something to do with the recent hotfix.... I can't remember it being like this when the big patch was released.

  • Lucky Break is actually a great perk. It synergizes perfectly with Iron Will and you can even use it with Quick and Quiet for some sneaky locker plays. Like I said on a different thread, I can't even tell you how many times I've found survivors just by following their blood trail, and denying that information from killers with Lucky Break has helped me out a bunch. It also helps you walk away from generators to hide while you're injured, since you don't leave blood behind.

Any Means Necessary is fine, but like DWolfAlpha said, the cooldown is insanely long. To top it off, killers in any elo other than tan will break pallets that are dropped in front of them, or return to break them after they're finished chasing. I've used Any Means Necessary in many games and have rarely been able to use it--definitely not worth the perk slot in nearly all cases.

And Breakout just does it's job.

  • It's really not that bad.... you just have to either lunge from farther away (harder to 360) or just be patient and wait until they're finished spinning, then strike. Legion was my first killer and the only one I played for a good while (and I still play him, of course!), and I've only missed a handful of attacks in all my experience with him. Patience is key.

I don't think that would be a good idea to remove the stun after missing an attack, as people would instead just attack to end their frenzy instead of having to cancel it or let it run out. Although, I'm not quite sure what you're wanting anymore, as CheersTC made a good point and you replied there would still be the four second stun with your reply? I'm a bit confused.

I'd also like to say that Nurse is also penalized for a whiff, and Demogorgon shred, and Pig lunge, so Legion isn't the only one.... πŸ˜‰

Only the people that play both sides have a relatively accurate idea of how balanced or not balanced different aspects of the game are.

For example - (Potentially) Hard to Swallow Pills:

-Despite its rework, DS is still incredibly unbalanced and so is NOED. Both for various reasons, unbalanced can mean many things for example it is often connected to something being "overpowered" but this is not always the case. It means exactly what you would think it means - it is unbalanced.

-Both the Pig and The Plague are some of the most poorly designed killers in the entire game for their own respective reasons, but the biggest one which both share is that some aspect of both their powers operates passively. This is not fun. This is not interactive.

-The Clown. Needs. A. Buff & / or Rework. Now.

-The Legion needs a rework which addresses his core fundamental issue - his power does not help down survivors. Take a minute to think about it: every killer as good, bad, or as poorly designed as they are have a power that actually helps put survivors into the dying state. The Legion's Feral Frenzy does not. This is what makes him incredibly unsatisfying to play as, you must m1 to down a survivor

-Solo queue is by far the most difficult and sometimes frustrating role to play. For those who don't know the power scaling of maximum potential goes Solo < Killers < SWF

-People want, and should be able to play with their friends. Removing SWF is not a viable option to solve the balance issues that have arisen over time, and it never was.

-More killers than not need reworks to their add-ons, even killers who are viable at high ranks or fairly balanced. IE The Hillbilly

-The devs have indeed done A Pretty Good Job So Far, stop ripping into them all the time.

-Finally: Quentin is in desperate need of a face rework, Steve Harrington needs a voice over starring his actual actor Joe Keery, and Emotes do not belong in Dead By Daylight unless they are practical gestures intended to support Solo survivor communicative capabilities. Stop asking. Dead By Daylight is not Fortnite.

    Don't @ me

Why does everyone say that Legion needs a rework? He is one of the killers that I actually get 3-4ks and Mercilesses with in red ranks (and the other one is Nurse.... which means Legion is as strong as Nurse? Maybe so 😏). You just have to play and build him properly! His Feral Frenzy is borderline busted in my opinion, as it either makes everyone spend time healing (just to be injured again), or basically keeps everyone in the "Exposed" state. AND you can kick generators while in frenzy!

I agree that Pig needs some help! Her crouch + dash can be kinda useless or clunky to use, and her traps are just uninteractive and boring. She's basically an M1 killer with a cheesy RNG mechanic that encourages camping and tunnelling survivors who are wearing her Special Hat. I have a list of changes for her that I think would work:

    • Make it so that her crouched movement speed is as fast or slightly slower than a survivor's running speed.
    • Change the roar when using her dash to activate when she starts the dash, not while she's charging it.
    • Make it so that she can't see when traps activate, or see when she's stalling their timer. Also take away the beeping noise from the traps.
    • With the above change, make it so that the armed trap timers stall when the Pig is within a certain range, e.g. 8 meters. This would add a mechanic for survivors to be able to tell when she's close, but she would still be able to hit them with her dash if she were skilled enough.

In my opinion, Pig should be more of a stealth-oriented killer, with her ability to sneak around and ambush survivors being her focus, and traps being a secondary stalling feature. As it is, with all of the games I've played against Pigs, they rarely (if ever) use her dash and usually just camp survivors who have traps on their heads. And these are red-ranked Pigs, some with P3!

But anyway.... I don't want goofy emotes or anything.... but it'd be cool if they added a thumbs up or OK sign.... just saying.... and maybe the killer could use it too! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘οΈ

Haddonfield should stay as long as hawkins exist.

IMO there should be 1 killer sided map and 1 surv sided map

Is Hawkins really that killer-sided? I really don't think it is, personally. I actually like the map, whether I'm playing survivor or killer. I feel like I have as much of a chance of escaping as survivor as I do winning as killer, and it and Lery's are maps that I actually enjoy playing on. The same cannot be said for Haddonfield.

Yes, Hawkins is small, and lacks windows/vault locations (except for on the catwalks). But that's really all it has against it. Killers that do well on Hawkins do just as well on maps like Lery's, The Game, and Haddonfield--namely Doctor, Hillbilly, Freddy, e.t.c., so that can't really be used as a counter point.

I think the problem is that survivors generally don't know how to properly loop on Hawkins. The catwalks are pretty good, the entire upper area has good potential, and there are a LOT of pallets. There are two generators that take extra effort for the killer to reach as well--which is huge, considering that those two generators can easily be completed early, or left for late game where it's much harder for the killer to patrol them. Not to mention that it's truly difficult for survivors to 3-gen themselves on Hawkins, which makes the killer's job late game much harder.

Haddonfield, on the other hand.... yuck. I don't think I've done well on that map as any killer, and I like to think that I have a decent amount of skill and map knowledge. And I somehow only go against Freddys on that map as survivor, so it makes me hate it even more. In my opinion, it is one of the most boring and uninteractive maps in the game.... 😀

  • With a game like this, you'll naturally have people who favor one side over the other.... be it a little bit or a lot. People who only play killer will more likely be opposed to anything that benefits survivor, and people who only play survivor, opposed to anything that benefits killer.

I think the daily ritual system tries to nudge players into playing both sides at least a little bit, but there are still a lot of people who don't play the other side whatsoever, or enough to speak of despite this.

Of course, you'll always have people who can't see things from other peoples' points of view, but that's just a person problem, not the roles or the game itself. And these days, many people only consider themselves and what they think is acceptable, and will put down anyone who thinks anything other than what they think. So, no. There are a lot of people on either side who cannot consider what other people might want or think is fair, but it is a problem with those people and their mindsets.

Another point I would like to mention is that there are a lot of younger players (teens and young twenties) on here, and younger people on the internet usually aren't mature enough (on average) to accept that other people might think differently then they do, and just because they do think differently doesn't mean that it's wrong.

  • @gatsby said:

In Red Ranks, you pretty much need a 4k to rank up. Blame the Devs not the players... even giving someone hatch and taking a 3k can give us Brutal Killer so we don't rank up

Well, I've been playing Nurse, Legion and Huntress games in high purple ranks (I don't play many games per day) against red ranks, and I haven't gotten anything beneath a Ruthless. I let someone open and leave through the exit gate or give the last person the hatch every time, and I also try to avoid people who are on their death hook if there are people who aren't, to give everyone plenty of opportunity to gain points. I usually reach 12 hooks per game (unless I give the last person the hatch, then 11), and people rarely kill themselves on hook or go into struggle from first state on my games.

It needs to be understood that some killers are not able to passively farm points as well as others, depending on how you play them (with the exception of Plague.... I used to get fair 4ks all the time with her (even M1-ing people who weren't fully infected) and I never achieved a Merciless). Hillbilly is a big example of a killer who HAS to balance using his chainsaw and M1s to get a good amount of points, as using only his chainsaw will most likely not net you enough points to get above a Brutal without getting a 4k.... and even then it's iffy.

I even played a Nurse game on Wrecker's Yard (yuck) with the matchbox addon (never again) and got Ruthless, because I hooked everyone at least twice, and killed two. You don't HAVE to get the 4k to get points, you just have to get plenty of hooks during the game, because those are the things that give you the big points. 500 points per hook, 200 points per stage. If you wanna get the most points, you have to hook survivors 3 times each for 700 points per hooking!

(And no, I don't expect people to give me the exit or the hatch at any time, I just do it because I like to)

  • I personally enjoy using Iron Will, Kindred, Dead Hard, and Bond/Lucky Break/Lightweight.

Lightweight is one of those perks that I always used when I first starting playing the game and I still enjoy using it to this day. It makes me feel more comfortable running around the map and I've actually been able to lose killers by making enough distance on chases with it. Going off of my own experience playing killer, I've been able to find/track survivors easily by just following their blood trail, so I love using Lucky Break to take away that information from killers. It also synergizes perfectly with Iron Will and allows you to walk to hide behind things without leaving tracks. And Bond is just a plain good perk--it helps me find teammates who can heal me up, helps me keep an eye on survivors who are being chased nearby and helps me avoid running into teammates on chases of my own (and it lets me see the goofball following me around with a flashlight trying to get a save....).

I switch out perks often, since I like to have fun with different perks and builds whether I'm playing survivor or killer, but for general play I just go with the above build!

  • Hmm.... I think a better idea would be to add regression (albiet slow) to exit switches that weren't fully opened, so people couldn't 99 exit gates anymore. I don't really see what making the gates slowly close would do, since there's already the EGC timer for pressure!

  • Both Legion and Trapper are great. However, playing Trapper requires a lot more thought and effort than Legion, and he's a lot more map dependent as well. I personally only have trouble playing against Trapper if he's using the tar addon that makes his traps darker, but I've probably not been against a really good Trapper, even in red ranks (rank =/= skill). Both Trapper and Legion truly shine after a couple gens have been done, so no need to worry about those first 2-3 gens, since they can easily lock down games afterward.

Speaking personally, I definitely prefer Legion. With Trapper, I feel like you have to sweat to get the kills, but Legion feels more laid back if you know how to manage his power properly. Of course, Legion is a more simple man.

For Legion, I enjoy using Pop Goes the Weasel, Thanatophobia, Discordance and Brutal Strength/Nurse's Calling/Bloodhound/Corrupt Intervention. Legion can kick generators while in Frenzy, so I also use his power with one duration and one cooldown addon just to get around and kick gens (after I've hit the survivors in the area)! The new map changes have really helped Legion in areas that he was lacking, so I would definitely rate him A-tier.

Trapper is Trapper regardless of the perks you use, as he is a truly skill-dependent (and slightly map-dependent) killer. However, I would recommend Fire Up, Agitation and Brutal Strength on him, as you really CAN'T keep gens from being completed early on, and having percent boosts at the beginning and as the match goes on is extremely helpful. Agitation helps you get to hooks faster (as well as helping you reach basement more easily, and chase down people who are running around you while carrying someone), and saving time in that area is a huge plus.

  • I had the same issue on Autohaven Wreckers - Wrecker's Yard as well, twice in a row! I went all along the outskirts and through the middle of the map and there were no crows whatsoever.

  • The vault location on the railing of the stairs on the side of the pagoda can't be vaulted with Feral Frenzy either.

  • This is happening to me as well, after I played my first killer game my subsequent games had the end game music playing at the beginning and throughout. I played Spirit first, then afterwards it was playing in my Legion and Nurse games. Even after restarting the game in between the Legion and Nurse games, the end game music still played throughout my Nurse game.

  • Honestly, I would say that Feng Min is the most liked (to play, anyway) based off of the amount that I see!

My top favorites from each side are Legion (Frank) and Steve, with Nea being a close second in the survivor category! I also like Jeff, Bill, Nancy, Quentin, Oni, Clown and Hillbilly (I love his smile!) 😍

The problem there is, If 4 people play Dwight, or even just TWO Dwights, and ONE is being toxic, or abusing glitches during the match..

..How do you report them? How do you know which Dwight was being toxic? Was bausing a glitch that froze the Killer in place? That somehow ran across the map at mach 3? That found a way to take 3 hits instead of two? I mean, you can see their names in game anymore, and there were TWO Dwights, but only ONE was glitching..

Hiding names makes it harder for people to report cheaters/toxic players, which leads to a more toxic game where people are more free to abuse cheats or glitches.

Like I said in my previous post.... they would still have the survivor they were playing as their "name", so it would be Dwight 1, Dwight 2, Dwight 3, Dwight 4. If they were all dressed identically, and were ACTUALLY exploiting the game or cheating, then you can make a support ticket and send them the footage. They would be able to handle it just fine from there. Or, if you're unsure and still want to report them in the lobby, you could just report all of them and let them sort out which one was the baddie.

I understand that that is a reasonable cause for concern, but please know that there are far more toxic players who use the ability to see names and characters as a way to abuse those people in any way that they can. I am not belittling cheaters or abusive survivors at all, since those things are very injurious to fun gameplay as well, but they are much less common than vindictive killers using things like moris to personally attack people and ruin their games. I don't think hiding names would embolden survivors to cheat, because there are still measures in place to expose them and take action against them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/150563/being-able-to-see-survivors-names-in-lobby

This is stupid. Hardly anyone holds grudges in this game unless they sit down and write down the players name and then writes down the thing they did in the game to annoy them.

Crouch spamming... I think you mean t-bagging so let's say it correctly.

Moris is used to killer players whether it be tunneling them and then killing them is not actually sayinng they did it on purpose to anyone player. They killed a player using an item in the game.

To me this sounds like another survivor wanting to hide their name so they can do what ever they want when ever they want to.

There is absolutely no need to hide anyone's names in this game.

I'm sorry, but I have been targeted many times, as have many other people in the game, and it is not uncommon whatsoever for TTV gamers to be targeted because they have TTV in their name. And I would say t-bagging if the killer's body was on the ground and the survivors were crouching up and down on it, but it's not. They're crouching up and down on nothing. So, I call it crouch-spamming. Kinda weird for you to bring that up, as if it would make the behavior sound worse somehow. No matter what way it's being done, it's still a simply childish behavior that does not affect actual gameplay whatsoever, and can only offend you if you choose to allow it.

Like I said in a previous post as well, I am completely fine with moris themselves--however, I am NOT fine with them being used to personally target and ruin the games of people who did nothing to deserve it, myself being one of them. I never crouch-spam, gesture or clicky flashlights, and I have been targeted just because I played properly and looped well. And like I said as well, simply having TTV on your name causes many people to get mori-ed. You can't even advertise your twitch channel without possibly being forcibly removed from the game by a first-hook mori and being rendered unable to have an interactive game experience. And to top it off, the killers who do this will typically wipe the entire team with the first-hook ebony mori, so it's not just the TTV suffering, it's the whole team.

I will say it again: I am NOT toxic in my games at any point. However, I HAVE been targeted because I played well or had a goofy name. And survivors wouldn't be able to do actual toxic behaviors, like holding the game hostage, because you would still be able to see their name at the end of the game and report them for it. I'm sorry, but crouch-spamming and gesturing is NOT toxic. It is simply childish and rude, but it does NOT affect actual gameplay in any way, shape or form.

  • @Huff said:

If they remember somebody's name it doesn't matter if they can see it before the game starts. They're going to see it when the game starts and still do the same thing.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the whole "names being hidden" thing. If somebody wants to act like a complete rear end in the end game chat or something, you'd best bet that I'm going to wreck that person's day next time I get to play against them.

That's how it should be. If people don't want to face repercussions for being scummy, then they probably just shouldn't be scummy.

I'm not saying I exactly condone toxic behavior just for the sake of being toxic, but I actually enjoy the fact that there's some sort of reason to deter people from mistreating others.

If you really hate it, just either try not to be a garbage person, or if somebody is actually just being toxic for no reason, just remember it's just a game and you're only gonna be there for a couple more minutes before you can move on. You also could just group with friends so you have a more reliable chance of getting out of being face camped.

IDK... Like I said I don't exactly think people should be going around being toxic, but that goes for either side. At the same time, I don't think people should be acting like a killer can see everything a survivor has... The killer can currently just see that the survivor has an item, and what survivor has it. They can't see anything other than that item and the cosmetics. They can't see add ons, they can't see what tier the item is (so they can't see if a key is a broken one or not for example), they can't see the survivors' perks... Killers are still pretty in the dark in terms of information. They can just see items because it lets them at least prep with a Franklin's or something, but having the killer have an ability that makes survivors just drop the item and they can go pick it up later, isn't exactly as game changing as if all 4 survivors could see that they were going against Doctor, and all decided to collectively run Calm Spirit. Or, if they all could see there's a Spirit and every single player decides to grab Iron Will.

I don't think it's exactly perfect the way things are, and I wouldn't mind even the survivors maybe being able to see the killer's name, but allowing them to see which killer is being played I think is a step too far. It's not like Killers get to see every detail of what the survivor is bringing either. They're practically all just skins of each other.

Anyway, as I said before... For me personally, as long as you're not toxic to me (and I'm very lenient with "toxicity") you shouldn't have to worry about being facecamped or mori'd or anything, and I personally have never encountered being targeted myself and I've been playing for more than just a few months.

Well, like I said in my initial post, the names would be hidden in pre-lobby AND in-game, with peoples' portraits having the character they were playing instead. And at the end of the game, you would be able to see their names with the character they were playing attached to the end of it.

I personally don't hold grudges against survivors who taunt me, since I choose not to get offended at peoples' childish behaviors on a video game, so seeing their names doesn't mean anything to me. The most I've done was to ask someone to not clicky their flashlight so much (months ago) and they actually apologized for it. If more killers ignored "toxic" survivor behavior, e.g. crouch-spamming and flashlight clicking, then I believe there would be far less of it, as these people only do it to get a rise out of killers who are easily offended by such things. And in regard to being toxic in end-game chat, you can easily either leave early or report them for toxic messages.

Like I've said in previous messages, I myself never suggested seeing the killer and their addons, so I really don't understand why people keep referencing that to me! I myself disagree with it because, like another user said, it would just lead to a toxic war from both sides. And like I said previously before, I understood what BigBrainMegMain was saying, in that if you're going to allow one thing that is detrimental to one side, why not allow one thing that is detrimental to the other. As it is now, the toxicity is only coming from the killers' side in the form of targeting specific people, be it because they held a grudge, are wearing a certain cosmetic or playing a certain character, or had a certain name, e.t.c.. So, I'm at LEAST wanting names to be hidden from the killer until the end of the game, because I've lately been targeted by certain killers whom I run into repeatedly in the red ranks just because I looped well or have a silly name. I never crouch-spam, click flashlights or gesture at the killer, and I've been targeted just because I played well in a past game, or one of my teammates has been targeted and the entire team suffers (you have a TTV on your team? First hook ebony moris for all, I guess).

And that's better if you don't target people based on anything but their attitude, but there are far too many people who will target people for much less than that, and for different reasons that are completely asinine.

I mean I get your point. Somebody shouldn't die for equipping a Bunny cosmetic. But if survivors weren't able to be seen, moris would STILL be used, but there just wouldn't technically be a motive. So it doesn't seem to make much difference to me honestly.

Also, if you wear pink hair, or a pink bunny costume, you're MUCH easier to see on almost any map so wearing cosmetics like that is inherently risky, and people know that when they equip them.

I understand, and I know that I'm easier to see when I'm wearing bright cosmetics (I don't wear bunny Feng Min though, I don't even play her and I think it looks stupid), but I don't like killers being able to target me when I play survivor just for my choice in clothing, hair or character (I've even been targeted just for playing Nea or Nancy). It really sucks that you have to worry about what your name is or what character you're playing because some people feel personally attacked by certain characters, names and cosmetics.

The bottom line is that if you cut out the people who use moris on people just because of their cosmetics, names or characters, you'd probably hardly see moris at all. And when you did see them, you'd know that the killer wasn't targeting you in particular, they were just using it in general. Especially since most of my games that moris are used on are when there's a bunny Feng or whoever else the killer is offended at (especially the TTVs)! Like I said, I don't have a problem with moris themselves, I have a problem with the fact that killers can equip something that allows them to hook a survivor, camp them, down them off hook and remove them from the game, and they use that to directly target people whom they are biased against for whatever reason.

And that was my point, it does not get them gamplay advantage so it's only about taunting. And tunneling them out of next game is no crime it's just a strategy, so it's not even taunting them back. They get of easy.

And my point is that to tunnel, facecamp or mori someone just because they "taunted" you is completely unfair and showcases the killer's insecurity over people judging them in an online video game. And like I said, it's not just about tunnelling--it's also about facecamping and mostly about mori-ing. And how does losing pips and getting few points equal "getting off easy"? Killers don't "taunt" back, they actually ruin your game. I would rather have a killer taunt me by nodding at me or hitting me a couple times after they finally catch me after I give them the big loops rather than find me on another game and ruin mine and my teammates experiences with first-hook ebony moris. Crouching up and down only ruins your mood if you take it personally or allow it to. Not your actual game.

It's not just meming. When I see a TTV, 9 times out of 10, i t's a SWF group out to bully people. They aren't looking to win, they're looking to make people ragequit. be it non-SWF fellow Survivors, or the Killer. They will play the most toxic ways possible, then belittle the other players in post-game chat.

I once had a match, when I was streaming, where I could not save the TTV scrub because he was being facecamped. He decided to see if my name was a twitch handle (I don't put TTV in my name), found I was twitching as I was explaining how the Killer was camping & I was wounded to my viewers, and got his entire chat to come badmouth me in my own twitch chat.

Why? Because he felt he was the better player, and I should have thrown away my life to save him. And since I did not, he weaponized his twitch chat.

THOSE are the type of people with an ego so large that they shove their twitch address in their screen name like anyone cares, and THOSE are the type of people that make me lobby-dodge every time I see 'TTV'.

And if I'm not streaming, they just act like dongs in the endgame chat after playing toxic. Because being a tool brings in views.

I'm sorry, but I have a TTV gamer in nearly every game I play and they are rarely, if ever toxic. These could of course be different experiences, but in my experience as both survivor and killer in red ranks I rarely encounter toxic survivors on both sides. I'm sorry that you had that bad experience with a TTV gamer, and that really is trash, but that seems like more of a problem of a toxic human being, rather than TTV gamers in general. If I were you, I would probably make my chat "subcriber/follower only" to avoid that problem in the future.

For the killer side, if you've watched Otz, you would know that if you play well enough, you CAN defeat a toxic, bullying SWF team. If you want to avoid toxicity from them in end-game chat, just hit Continue instead of sticking around (or you can report them for communication abuse, of course). Here's my favorite Otz video, showcasing him beating up a bunch of SWF bullies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ulVGOYPiA0

And before you say "Well, those survivors just played poorly", please understand that when a killer wins, it doesn't ALWAYS mean that the survivors played poorly. A killer can be skilled at the game, believe it or not.

Don't even start with that #########. I'll post the link to my VOD from stream last night. Every match was a massacre, with multiple killers in rotation. I have zero problems ending chases. It was just an example, not an invitation for attacking my skill.

Even if you end the chase early, you still have to pick up, walk to a hook, hook them, then walk towards one of the 3 gens currently being worked on. If a perfect killer goes against a perfect SWF, he will lose. This is a scenario against an incredibly efficient team, and they exist. People just need to acknowledge this fact.

I'm personally not bothered by survivor items either. I used to bring Franklin's BEFORE the nerf to toolboxes but now I couldn't care any less if survivors bring them. I'm well aware of the counters to survivor items as well. But I still don't see how any of this means the killer shouldn't be able to see survivors in lobby. If the items don't really effect the game much as you claim, then who cares? There's not much correlation here.

I'm sorry that you think I was directly attacking you with my reply, but that was not the case. I'm speaking in general. But like I said, you can't expect to win every game that you play as killer.... you have to take into account the map in regards to the killer you're playing. I can comfortably say that the only thing that affects my ability to win the game is the map that I'm placed on.

I dislike the fact that killers can see survivors in lobby because killers will intentionally take moris to ruin the games of people who are using certain characters or cosmetics, not because of the items.... but I knew many people would be upset at not being able to prepare for flashlights and medkits, so I addressed that point. But anyway, think of all of the bunny Feng Mins being mori-ed because Monto decided to make a "funny meme" video of him "hunting wabbits", or the killers who have some sort of vendetta against Yuis. Completely ridiculous that killers will actually attack people for their choice of cosmetic, and it's something that can be avoided by hiding survivors in the pre-game lobby.

I never see people act like this. I've run into people I have played with pretty commonly nowadays when I started to pay attention. Most killers seem to check a profile and see what they are dealing with. In the years I have been playing I have seen the behavior you have described just once.

I'm specifically referring to the red ranks, since the pool of players is smaller there. I've run into the same players many, many times in the past few months!

Even as a survivor you can see the killer on console (PS4 at least) by simply going into the "currently playing" list and viewing your own game. The name that doesn't match your survivor teammates is the killer.

Well, I'm talking about PC, and we don't have an option for that here πŸ™

  • @Xzan said:

Just give us an Avoid Player Option. Limit it to a specific number to prevent abuse and we are gucci.

And just food for thought: Some killers don't like ttv in the lobbys. They don't want to be a toy for the streamer and getting mocked by the chat.

I understand, but when I see TTV gamers in my lobby, I just play normally. Because, at the end of the day, I'm just a faceless gamer and if I want to give them a challenge, I'll try harder. It's still those killers' choice to be offended at what other people think about them.... on the internet....

I still firmly believe that it is more important to stop the Actual toxicity that is occuring, namely killers targeting survivors intentionally with first hook moris. Honestly, this matters more than someones' hurt feelings over a TTV memeing at them to their chat!

I get the reasoning behind it, but it's a false equivalency.

"The killer gets to do it so the survivors should too. Or not at all for both sides" The game is asymmetrical. The killer, believe it or not is the weaker role. I'll give you an example:

If 4 different survivors are on 4 different generators, and you start to chase somebody, you'll lose 3 generators quick. This is why Shroud of Separation is self-sabotage. Chase another survivor and the final 2 gens are being worked on simultaneously. Game over. That's why even very high skill level killers get rushed on sometimes.

That's why I say this is a false equivalency. There's nothing equal about the two roles at all. A killer should be able to see if he's going against an obvious SWF or 4 Toolboxes, or a Key. It's just fair given the fact the killer is outnumbered to begin with.

I'm sorry, but if you're spending 80 seconds on your first chase (long enough for three gens to get popped), or even 60, or even 40, then you probably need to play better. The scenarios that you described only indicate to me that the killer played poorly. Of course, there are certain maps that are not suited to certain killers, and you'll probably have a harder time, but that's just the nature of the game--not every map can be perfectly suited to every single killer, and you'll just have to take your L or 1 kill er whatever and go on.

And like I said as well, if you're that scared of survivor items, just use Franklin's every game. I'm personally not bothered by survivor items, as I am of the opinion that they do not affect the game any more than I allow them to. Toolboxes have been nerfed, insta-heals have been nerfed, maps are not an issue, keys only work once a certain criteria is met, and flashlights can be countered by checking your surroundings or looking at a wall.

The only way that you're being "affected" by this is the fact that you had a bad game. It happens. To everyone. Every survivor, every killer.

You're not entitled to a good game every time. You're not entitled to surviving for 15 minutes. If you died early, then too bad, move on to the next match.

I'm sorry, but I'm done replying to you. You actually aren't even reading what I'm typing, or else you just can't get it into your head for whatever reason (although I have an idea). It's not just a "bad game". It's something that could easily be prevented via not allowing killers to see names in pre-lobby or in-game. And honestly, if the killer is playing fair, and I die early, that's not a "bad game" to me. I enjoy every game that I play if the killer is being a fair gamer and is not abusing things like being able to target people with moris based on their name, character or cosmetics, which is why I play the exact same way when I play killer and get plenty of points on every game. You aren't even addressing the ACTUAL POINT of my post, which is a certain mechanic being abused by toxic killers to intentionally ruin the games of specific gamers.

If I get mori-ed because someone just "wanted to use a mori" or is doing a daily, then I am perfectly fine with that. But if the killer recognizes me or a teammate and takes in a mori just to be completely and utterly toxic, and this is PREVENTABLE by hiding names until end-lobby, then that is what needs to be done.

  • @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1259424#Comment_1259424

Oh no, the killer brought a Mori!

Personally, I don't like Mori's and don't use them, but you know what? They exist. Deal with it. It's not "toxic" if a killer uses one.

And oh no, you died first? Darn, you had a bad game. Just like everyone else. What, you think you're entitled to not have those now, too?

Are you serious right now? The whole point of my post is killers targeting specific people because they've played against them in the past, they have TTV in their name, or they are wearing a cosmetic that the killer feels offended at. Obviously, I accept moris as part of the game, and I myself use moris for dailies (fatty 60k). And I obviously accept dying first, and not escaping.... for you to assume otherwise based on my post is completely wrong. These are all part of normal games. But I do NOT accept killers being able to personally target people whom they've played against before, or people with names or characters they dislike. This is completely unfair and I'm sorry that you actually can't see the problem with this. Although, if you've never had it happen to you, and have no empathy for other players' bad experiences, then you probably won't see my point. I entreat you to expand your mind and realize that killer toxicity ACTUALLY affects the game, and survivor "toxicity" does not. And it truly is a bummer to be wiped by a first-hook ebony mori user just because your teammate has TTV on their name.

  • @ChainsawCharlie said:

Another Us vs Them post, aimed at making survivors out to be such helpless victims. It's like you guys forget the killer is supposed to be strong and have certain advantages. Meanwhile the survivor's advantage is that there's 4 of them with 16 perks in total. If Survivors knew what killer and add-ons were picked, they'd take perks to shut down that Killer's power.

It's like you people don't even listen to yourselves anymore.

If you had actually read my main post, you would see that nowhere in there did I suggest survivors being able to see killers and their addons. BigBrainMegMain suggested that. And like I said already in another post, I already addressed that point. I will post it AGAIN here for you to read:

"While it seems like a fair idea, I personally wouldn't like for the survivors to see the killer and their addons, because a lot of survivors would just dodge when they were matched with killers they didn't like.... although killers are already dodging left and right just because multiple survivors readied up at the same time, or because Meg is wearing a mask, or whatever. I do understand what BigBrainMegMain is saying though, if you want killers to have information that allows them to change their build based on the survivors they're going up against (bringing Franklin's because of multiple items, Lightborn for flashlights, e.t.c.), then survivors should be able to have similar knowledge that allows them to adjust their builds accordingly, especially considering that survivors are currently completely in the dark as to anything regarding the killer pre-game. But, I would rather negate the issue rather than counter it, i.e. make it so that killers can't see survivors, just so they can't target people who are wearing cosmetics they don't like (like the bunny Feng Mins getting mori'd nearly every game I have them in, or the aforementioned mask-wearing Megs.... killers really don't like them for some reason). It's really a bummer for your entire team to be mori-ed just because you had a pink-haired Nea, or the killer has a beef with one of your teammates."

The killer killing you isn't "toxic".

If you're consistently vulnerable enough and easy enough to catch that you can complain about "being tunneled", get better.

    That's it.

Did you even read my post? The big problem is killers taking in moris just because they see someone they don't like. Tunnelling and camping are actually smaller parts of the issue, with mori-ing being the biggest part.

I'm sorry that you actually think you can escape a killer who is bent on removing you from the game, be it with a mori or tunnelling/facecamping. And even if they only catch you and everyone else escapes, they've still accomplished their goal--namely you having a trashy experience, getting few points and losing a pip.

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

My whole point was that the Survivors have more weapons (perks) to fight with than Killers.

If Survivors knew what Killer was picked, they'd take perks to shut down that Killer's power. That would be 16 hand-picked perks picked solely to counter that Killer's power.

While the Killer gets 4 perks to maybe counter what limited-use items Survivors bring into the map. And MAYBE what Perks he THINKS the Survivors are bringing in.

Yeah; totally fair to let Survivors see what Killer they are fighting beforehand. /s

I'm sorry that you either ignored or missed the point where I addressed BigBrainMegMain's suggestion. I will repost it here:

So trying to protect toxic survivors? All killers should write down exit gate t-baggers gamertags. It's so low to do this at the end of the game and the only way to stop them is having this system so you can tunnel/facecamp them and after game tell them why. Or they will continue to be toxic.

We all want a fair game for fair players.

I hate to break it to you, but crouching up and down does not give survivors any sort of gameplay advantage. They don't gain extra movement speed, they don't heal a health state, e.t.c.. People make the choice to be offended at crouch-spamming survivors and they need to realize that it is only hurting themselves to be offended at moving pixels on a screen.

You know, people got over being offended at crouch-spammers ages ago on games like CoD and Halo. The reason that killers get offended at survivors is because they feel like they are "above" the survivors and that the survivors deserve to be "punished". And when the survivors crouch-spam in the exit, the killers have some sort of mental boom because they take it so personally. Honestly, if you're that upset about the crouch-spammers, just hit them in the exit and make them leave. If you sit there and fume because they're sitting in the exit and crouching up and down, they're just going to continue doing it. I obviously disagree with crouch-spamming because I think it's childish, but it really does not affect the game itself whatsoever. And the killer retaliating with ACTUAL toxic behavior, i.e. tunnelling, mori-ing or facecamping, just makes a show of how insecure, immature and selfish the killer is.

A fair game for all players is the killer not being able to see survivors in pre-game lobby, because it is UNFAIR for the killer to target people with toxic behavior based on their name or character choice. And killer toxic behavior actually has an impact on the game.

  • @Rivyn said:

So, the killer, who needs to build around survivors, shouldn't be able to do so? It's four perks vs sixteen, plus four items. And you want to send the killer in blind? Do you realize how much of an advantage that is?

How often do you run into the same people? There are, what, 50k players? The only real time you'll run into the same players is in red ranks, where the pool is much smaller. I'm not exactly against having names hidden, but at the same time, sometimes I recognize a name and recall how they played, giving me info on if I want to continue or dodge.

Plus, what about streamers? It's how they promote themselves, via their names. I'll mori them, but still.

See, the end of your post is one of the big reasons why we need names hidden until the end of the game.... not only do my TTV teammates get mori-ed, everyone else does as well. If you're a killer who only uses the mori on the TTV (I'm not sure if you do or not), then congratulations--you're one of the minority to do so (although I still disagree with it and think it's rather selfish). There are far more people who take in moris to punish the entire team due to the presence of one individual. With names being hidden in pre-lobby and in-game, TTV gamers' names will still be seen at the end of the game, so they will still be able to "promote" themselves.

I personally don't mind playing against people whom I've played against before, no matter if they were toxic or very good at the game, because it's truly silly to be offended or biased towards anybody on this Casual Video Game. But, there are many killers who, instead of simply dodging the people whom they don't want to play against, they choose to be vindictive and take moris or facecamp them to death. The problem is that many killer players seem to feel like they're "above" the survivors, instead of realizing that they're all just gamers and treating people like equals (which they are, there are just different roles). But, I won't delve into that, because that's not the point. The point is that something like this needs to be implemented, because there are many people in red ranks being rematched against killers that they played well against and are being tunnelled/mori-ed just because the killer held a grudge on a video game.

To address the top of your post, SKILLED killer players would not have a problem with not being able to see survivors. Not being able to see survivors is not the problem that I think people are scared of, it's the items part. And if you're that scared of survivor items, then just take in Franklin's or Lightborn every game. But.... people are probably scared that their Franklin's or Lightborn might be useless.... and that's where I would like to mention that survivors are completely blind as to the killer, and they don't know if their Inner Strength will be nearly useless against an Iron Maiden user, or their flashlight will be useless against a Lightborn user, or the killer is taking in Franklin's because they're using a medkit, or the killer is playing Bubba or Billy and it will be much harder to use their Dead Hard, and the list goes on. I want equality in this area, i.e. killers not being able to see survivors as well, because it would level the playing field, and increase dependence on skill rather than taking perks to counter specific things.

And please don't try and use the argument of "It's 16 perks against 4". It's not like survivors (unless they're SWF) are co-ordinating their perks in pre-game lobby. I almost purely play solo in red ranks and it's rare that anybody speaks before the game, let alone talk about the perks they're using (unless it's challenge specific). And SWF groups CAN be beaten, regardless of the perks they're using. If SWF groups were actually invincible and could win ANY game that they were put into, then there would be a problem, but that is not the case. If you're good enough, you CAN beat a SWF group. And if you're bad, you don't. People need to stop ignoring the fact that killers are responsible for the outcome of their games, since they are literally the power role. And I'm not saying you're going to win every single game that you play as killer if you play well, because that would be completely unbalanced and unfair, but it needs to be known that your skill has basically everything to do with the outcome of a game. A skilled killer can still perform well against a SWF group, and even if they don't get the Big 4k, they can still earn good points and have a fun game. Killers should be less focused on whom they're playing against, and instead focus more on themselves--getting better at the game, becoming more skilled with the killers they play, trying different perk builds, and so on.

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1258381#Comment_1258381

The Killer is SUPPOSED to be in a power role. If Jason or Freddy or Michael were weak little wussies, none of those movies would have been scary.

So don't give me 'It's not fair' because that's the excuse of someone who wants to win over real game balance.

It's easier for FOUR people with FOUR perks each to counter a specific Killer power than it is for ONE Killer with FOUR perks to counter FOUR Survivors built to counter him.

Survivors don't have to counter Killer PERKS; they counter the Killer's POWER. If they knew what the was ahead of time, there'd be no contest.

I don't care if you don't want to hear 'it's 4 V 1' because the math is part of the facts; Survivors get 16 perks to counter a Killer, if they knew who the Killer was at start.

Throw SWF into it and the Killers would literally have 0 chance of getting even a single hook at that point, nevermind 1 kill or more.

4 SWF friends with 4 perks EACH knowing what Killer they were facing? No contest on which side would get a 4-man; 4 Survivors would be tea-bagging their way out the gates in a conga line, every time.

So sorry, but it's 4 v 1 is a perfectly valid argument. I mean, unless you want to ignore facts to push an agenda of nerfing all Killers to the point of uselessness.

Why do you ignore the fact that a player CAN be good enough to win against a SWF team, no matter who they're playing (with the exception of Clown) or if the survivors know it beforehand? Does killer skill not matter or exist? Is every single game that results in a loss for killer the fault of the survivors, or can we expand our minds here and realize that the killers who lose might just be bad at the game, and should learn to play better? Playing killer, I can say that I win games because I play well. If I lose games, I did not play well. It's as simple as that.

While it seems like a fair idea, I personally wouldn't like for the survivors to see the killer and their addons, because a lot of survivors would just dodge when they were matched with killers they didn't like.... although killers are already dodging left and right just because multiple survivors readied up at the same time, or because Meg is wearing a mask, or whatever. It's really a bummer for your entire team to be mori-ed just because you had a pink-haired Nea, or the killer has a beef with one of your teammates.

Survivors just don't want to face any consequences for being toxic. I routinely dodge players and teams that I know are toxic and names let me do that

I understand that you remember names to avoid those survivors in the future, but there are far more killers who use it to directly ruin the games of people whom they don't like or have a grudge against. And it's not just toxic survivors.... it's survivors who have certain names, survivors who played well, or survivors who called out the killer's toxic behavior in a previous game. And the worst part about it is that while survivor toxicity only affects one person (the killer), killer toxicity affects all four survivors.... because killers are usually not content to only take out their frustrations on one person, they take it out on the entire team.

  • Finally, someone who recognizes the importance of Frank cosmetics....

I would love for Frank to have a casual outfit like Julie has now, except without a hat/hoodie! (I don't understand the deal with every Legion member having to wear a hoodie/head covering....) And, like I said on another post, another cool outfit for him would be an escaped convict outfit, with the orange jumpsuit, sleeves rolled up and maybe some prison tattoos!

And I really wish that Nea had some nice, feminine hair styles. Her outfits are fine, but her hairstyles.... ehh. And why doesn't she have a fancy, dress-y outfit like Claudette, Kate or Feng Min?

  • I used to get stressed playing killer until I just got over it and realized that you can have fun whether you win or lose! I always have fun playing killer simply because I don't make the Big 4k my focus, I focus on providing a fun and enjoyable, but challenging game for everyone. I enjoy playing survivor even when I get killed if the killer is fair and non-toxic, so I try and provide that experience for other people. And giving the last person the exit/hatch is always nice as well (although I don't expect that from killers when I play survivor, that's just what I like to do), although I'm careful to not seem like I'm favoring anyone over another.

I would actually apply this question for me to survivor, and I guess it's because I'm always hopeful that I'll get good teammates and a fair killer. Sometimes I do, most times I don't, but the games that it does happen are quite enjoyable, and I enjoy playing survivor in general, so I just keep on playing!

Um...those perks all work fine regardless of whether the killer is camping or slugging. (Although DS kinda makes the killer want to slug, so then Unbreakable is great.)

Stop acting like you wouldn't run the perks that give you second chances and invulnerability if the killers were just nice guys. Like you'd just LOVE to run your special new Hope build, I'm sure. Right.

I'm sorry, but like I said, I never get hit by DS, Unbreakable or BT.... DS because I never go after the unhooked person, or I slug them if they're actually being an idiot and inting toward me, Unbreakable because I rarely have to slug unless it's in the case that I stated above with DS, and then ithey're still basically out-of-service for at least 20 seconds, and BT because I never go after the unhooked person, like I stated with DS. It's not hard to hit the unhooker instead of the unhooked....

I don't know how to get you to realize this, but No, I would NOT run the perks like DS, Unbreakable and BT, because I already don't, and haven't for quite some time. But with the recent wave of toxicity from killers (like the Spirit actually telling me and my teammates to take DS because of her scummy tunnelling.... she actually ignored me when I was trying to protect the Kate who was recently unhooked and downed her again anyway, right in my face), I'm having to take at least SOMETHING so that I don't end the game with an abysmal amount of points and a lost pip. I love using different perks, like Lightweight, Lucky Break, Hope and Fixated, but I'm having to sacrifice a perk slot for DS because of scummy killers. Now I'm looking at having to take Unbreakable alongside DS because my teammates and I are just getting slugged instead, and I wish I had Deliverance unlocked because I can't even tell you how many times I've been stuck in the basement (from first hook to death) due to a killer proxy-camping. It makes for boring, uninteresting gameplay and I would love to do goofy perk builds, like I do on killer, but it's just not feasible with the perk slots that I'm having to sacrifice for being able to stay in the game longer than a couple minutes. It really, really sucks and I'm sorry that you can't see it from the tunnelled, camped and slugged survivor's point of view.

Erm, it's pretty much impossible to play nice at red ranks unless you are an absolute god (or playing Freddy/Nurse/Billy/Spirit/etc). It's typical to spawn into a game, walk to the nearest non-corrupted gen, find a survivor, down them in 20-30 seconds, and lose your first gen for it. I've had games where I literally 2 tap the first person I find and a gen is still gone by the time they are hooked.

How would you ever be expected to win as killer at that pace without snowballing (aka camping / slugging) or getting rid of someone as fast as possible (tunneling)? Spam Freddy every game?

I guess I'm some sort of anomaly then, because I can play Legion, Huntress and Oni at red ranks with goofy perk builds and have fun and profitable games (I only play a select few killers, as the other killers don't really appeal to me). I actually just won a Legion game yesterday in red ranks with R1 Nurse's Calling, R3 Corrupt Intervention, R1 Bitter Murmur and R1 Discordance. I could have ended the game much earlier, but I'd ignore people on their death hook and go after survivors who weren't on death hook. Everyone ended the game with above 20k points and I myself got 31.7k (3 dead and brought last one to the hatch, Merciless victory). And that is just one example of the many games that I play with goofy perk builds and without sweating for the 4k. My Huntress build consists of Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, Iron Maiden and Bloodhound/Discordance/Lightborn, and I have very fun games with 3 and 4ks and lots of GGs. Sure, gens get popped early, but I'm able to apply pretty good pressure to gens throughout the game with good results. Of course, when I play Nurse (Monitor and Abuse, Sloppy Butcher, Corrupt Intervention and Nurse's Calling/Lightborn), I can get everybody before 2 gens have popped, but I also choose to let the game go on and allow everyone to get points through healing, gens, e.t.c., and I don't care if I win or lose. I play enough survivor to know that a tryharding, slugging, tunnelling and camping killer absolutely sucks. It makes for unfun games and low points across the board, and I don't want to do that to other people, so I chill and play fair as killer.

And I would also like to say that losing your first gen doesn't mean the game is over.... the first gen is arguably the easiest gen to pop, unless the killer is running Discordance (which is a fantastic perk, by the way--I use it on nearly every killer since it lets me know which gens are being completed more quickly). To expect survivors to Not Complete Gens every game you play is completely unrealistic.... and expecting to win Every Single Game as killer is completely unrealistic as well. I enjoy my games whether everyone gets out or no one gets out, and I wish others would do the same by realizing that this is a casual video game!

    Oh for ######### sake.

You run those perks because they're incredibly good. Almost invincibility in organized groups. Not because some killer bullied you into taking them.

You know.... if killers didn't tunnel, camp or slug, then Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike would basically be useless....

I think the point of the post is that if it weren't for those undesirable killer behaviors, then the "meta" perks would most likely cease to be popular or even necessary. You might have the cheeky gamers who try and waste your time with DS, or unhook right behind your back with BT, but many gamers (including myself) wouldn't feel the need to take the perks if slugging, tunnelling and camping weren't a trend among most killers.
