This is the Wraith build I use when I'm in the mood to play Wraith. You can use any add on but you have to use "The Beast" - Soot when playing my way.
I run across the map at HIHG SUPEEDS and thanks to Distressing I'm both invisible and everywhere at once. This confuses the survivor. I hear the terror radius but no killer!
Bing bong! Hi there! If there's always a terror radius, there is no terror radius! You can't hide! You can't heal! You can't even crawl into dark grass to hide! Zoom!
-
I have it on since it lowers red rank killer times moderately/considerably/tremendously.
I'm also too lazy to turn it off for survivor, so I just kinda hope for the best. It has made me less talkative though. It's kinda pointless to say gg if the other team can't see it.
-
I save as soon as I can, but I'm at red ranks. If you want to try to focus down a red rank survivor for that mori and they're ready to take you on a tour of the map. Well. Grats on your 1 kill 3 escape.
...that said the mori-able survivor will probably not do anything gutsy the rest of the match.
Also just a brief tangent, but Mori kills your pressure because no survivors have to go in for the rescue anymore and the 3 remaining are free to do gens. If survivors are focused a Mori can hurt a killer more than you think.
-
You need to max out the altruism emblem consistently to rank up in red ranks and get to rank 1. You need to be on a gen, and go for a save when you can. I highly, HIGHLY recommend borrowed time if you're playing for rank.
Try not to be the first one in a chase, but if you are have a plan to make it a long chase for the chaser emblem. I will say in games where I'm the runner I usually only safety pip at red ranks. It's only when I'm the rescuer that I pip consistently.
Get them unhooks. They're crucial to your success in red ranks if you're going for rank 1.

1k hours, most of it when the game was new so before Devotion. I'm Devotion level 3, around level 53 iirc.

i love how bugs got normalized in this game. this one is up for 2 years already!
I was thinking this too. There's some silly stuff in this game that can happen if you combine the right perks and items.
Hillbilly space program.

They need to give Victor a bit more bite. At red ranks I'm constantly on the move and the most I can see myself doing with Victor is putting him in a popular loop and hiding him in a corner so when the survivor gets cheeky and makes his play I can activate Victor and attack. I can't get into the fidgeting with both of them at once deal.
I really get the feeling Victor is meant to be hidden and ambush while you play the main killer as an M1, but I can't put that theory to the test right now.
-
I don't think so. I'm ribbing people like I always do. There's the victor drama but that's just the flavor of the month. A lot of people are probably out getting stuff for Black Friday etc.
Grats on laying off the drink though. I imagine that's not an easy habit to break. (Not that any habit is easy to break, come to think of it.)
-
I still run into old locations in old maps that don't spawn pallets there anymore or have vaults but my muscle memory tells me something should be there. I'm pretty sure a newer player that doesn't know what's going on performs better than me in those situations.
-
I'm red ranks most of the time, and I hit overcharge skillchecks pretty consistently. They're just surprise decisive strike skillchecks.
I feel cool when I hit them too, but on the rare occasion the generator pops I don't see it as a big deal. My big catch on overcharge is when I'm doing a drive by gen regression tap to stop it and I get the overcharge skillcheck. That gets me a lot since I'm usually running or something.

TBH, after reading section 230, I really wish that 230 would never change, and only that websites would have their own 'standards' based on a company moral 'compass'. Though that's probably too republican of a mindset...
I'm not talking about it in terms of politics. Cast that aside for a second.
You need 230 to change. Do you think Facebook/Reddit/any forum nowadays is really how people actually talk and communicate? If you spend all your time indoors you may think it is. It's a serious constricting of information. It's kinda like the taboo thing with Victor how everyone's getting upset because they're referring to the brother as a baby; because it's restricted new people aren't going to be aware until it's too late. Even if they put a banner at the top of their site saying hey don't do this, they'll eventually take it down and the taboo will happen again ad infinitum.
All 230 going away says is "Hey, do you want to act like a publisher and filter people? Okay. You're now responsible for EVERYTHING posted, and you can't be a public forum if you're curating content.
This will completely smack a lot of sites because people think nowadays moderation is curation, and it's not. A forum should be an open place for discussion, and moderators should remove things like gore post and illegal material, not be filtering opinions. (Even if they aren't something you agree with.)
I'm going to bed though and won't be back on for about a day, but I promise you I'm saying this with your best interests at heart. Freedom is a wonderful, fantastic thing. There will always be bad actors, sure, but you don't send someone to life in prison for jaywalking.

Dude, even you must understand American corporate with regards to appearance. This isn't a 1st amendment thing. There is a place for 3rd party discourse.
"Saving Face" and "Appearances" are really Eastern concepts, you've just seen a lot more of it due to changing demographics. It's completely foreign to Western life. I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy for saying that but wait for America to change Section 230. The way things are now are not how they're supposed to be.
-
They aren't gonna say it but this is what they meant by console optimization. There's no point in getting the game ready for a console generation that's at the end of its lifespan. They were preparing for the next gen the entire time.
-
The bad thing is after this blows over, new people are going to come to the game down the road and not understand the taboo, and I'm sure a lot of people are running into it unexpectedly at the moment.
There's really no winning. You can only censor so much and when you do, nobody knows there's a censure until it's too late.
-
I will say this. There's a place you can talk about this game without being under the thumb of (much) moderation. Go to 4chan.org and go to the video game general tab and click on the catalog button and type assg.
We're used to American 1st amendment stuff but you have to remember this company is Canadian with French creators. They have a completely different mindset than we do on discussions. Not being mean, just calling a spade a spade.
-
Honestly I've been slackin'. Too busy with real life this time around. After rank reset yeets me to Rank 5 next week I'll probably hit it hard.
-
I just play them. Not being sarcastic either. I kill the survivors or I don't. If I'm in the mood for a certain killer he's going into that trial perkless if he has to.
-
First Legion and now Twins. Our boy David is not having a good time in the fog.
(Also Neo-Claudette didn't help him. Rude.)
-
The minute I get Victor on my back the killer isn't seeing her brother for the rest of the match.
He is mine now, and I will walk around with him around completed generators.
-
I do have people give up when facing my Deathslinger after first shot in red ranks. I'm not as good as you think, you can beat me if you stay in the match, promise.
-
Knee-uh Hype!
-
They could give Victor a red cap and blue overalls and make the sister's shirt a warp pipe so every time Victor jumps out of her he yells 'WAHOO!'
-
You know this is kind of a loosely related tangent but I think the creator/original concept guy was French. So at some point he must have been like, Morte de Lumière du jour Also my text has entered the twilight zone. I'm not going to fix it.
-
Susie Mask, Halloween Body, the yellow rarity knife that says all members use the same blade.
I hate picking which Legion character to play. Halloween fixed indecisiveness in the best way.
-
I'm impressed I haven't seen a thread on this sooner. Everyone should have seen it coming from miles away though.
-
I use it at the top hook slot so when a survivor's hanging around they have Dwight there to comfort them.
...or if I'm feeling mean it adds to the salt. Aw man, I got hooked. Aw man, I want a Dwightcrow. Worst trial ever.
-
Maybe it's just trauma from the old days but Hillbilly makes my nerves bad and I'm overly cautious about committing to things. Not only does he come in fast, he can instantly down you en route.
When I hear that chainsaw at the beginning of the game...well...
-
I've played with Paulie, Gay Myers back when running 4 Pizzadwights was a thing, Tydetime vs his nurse. Probably a lot of others but the hard truth is I don't know a lot of content producers by their gamer tag.
If you ever see a Dwight running around while watching someone's video with the gamer tag Sachiko Shinozaki, thazza me!
-
-
I love moments that shouldn't work but do. I was playing a dark clothing character on Ormond and I was out in the open and heard the heartbeat right? ...but I wasn't ready to get chased.
I crouched in the open behind a very tiny blade of grass that came up to my character's knee.
The killer missed me.
-
Really solo queue is just rolling the dice. What map? What killer? What teammates? What perks? What pallet/vault spawns?
I'm really surprised Ace isn't a more popular survivor given the circumstances. You're gambling each and every time.
-
What if the killer is just a white arm that screeches? Like White Hand from the old Pokemon creepypastas.
-
^ What Demogordon said and also we have a killer called the Nightmare in the game. Careful with those dreams.
-
What I like to do is (if I know where the survivor is going) toss the bottle ahead of them so they have to run through the entire smoke field.
You can hit them directly with the bottle, and that's a requirement for Clown's ultra rare to get a one hit down, but I just find the survivor running through less smoke than if you fire ahead.
I'd go ahead and gas up loops too, but I don't really notice too much of a difference with Clown+gas compared to other normal speed killers.
-
To be fair this game is horror for the first hundred hours. Then you go into the tryhard phase, then you go into meme phase.
-
It's an...enduring perk.

I have any means necessary! Need help?
Well, these are pretty big maps. Dunno if the Entity likes the idea of us working together.
Say, you know I think I found a way out of the trials...
*whispering noises*
-
As a Dwight main survivor side, I would appreciate a shirtless Dwight.
-
I hope they just forget to remove the cosmetics. I mean. Remove what? There was nothing to remove. Doctor needs his music back focus on that chop chop.
-
Survivors have a lot more out of their control in the match when they play. As a killer if something goes wrong, it's all on you. There's no one really to blame. You can't even get mad at survivors for trying to survive.
When you're trying to force something survivor side it's really easy to backseat someone - I know because I do it too - and while it really doesn't matter after the games over, I get why people try to coach or aggress people.
That's why my steam profile is private. I give them zero control. Once they're on the hook up into the sky they go.
-
I actually picked one up tonight and I didn't think I was going to get a hold of it - pure chance - I like it since I'm a Dwight main survivor side, but I've got like 4 pages of charms now and you can only use 3 at a time. You're not missing much.

Mhmmn. They've never had to clean those hooks after a Jake's been slobbered over by the Entity, or had to pick up after Bill's goshdarn smoking habit has littered the area...I swear he's the largest fire hazard in the Fog!
Not gonna lie you kinda made me want to play on a map with waist high fire and smoke all over the place.
-
You definitely had to play differently. Nowadays you will catch a survivor eventually if you stay in chase with him. You commit to a chase back then and you got punished. In that sense killer is much easier today.
The game was mostly Hillbilly and Nurse though, where trappers shut down infinite and wraiths bing bonged and ate newbies.
Because survivors didn't need to know tiles to survive - they didn't bother learning them, and everything was slower and more deliberate.
I can say with a straight face killers complaining nowadays don't realize how easy it is for them now. Imagine a new age killer dealing with survivors fast vaulting from a complete standstill and the shack having two unblockable windows.
Oh and you couldn't regress generators either.
Edit: Oh by the way: It was peer to peer. Which means if the killer was tech savvy he could remove all corn from his client and pallets. While this was rare, you had to play around it as survivor.
-
Look, I've gotta make sure the pallets are set back up for the next match, and the trial area is clean. Do you know how long that takes? Survivors aren't appreciative of the exercise we give them, I swear.
-
I legit thought this thread was going to be about Balanced Landing and the haddonfun middle house.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajlkhFnz8eo -
So you've found my secret portal have you? Well I'm home now. Time to funpost on this forum.
-
That happens to everyone. Yeah I'm salty when I'm the victim of that, but I've done it accidentally too.
Experience will help you. Treat it as learning.
-
If the killer follows Dead by Daylight rules, the Hillbilly. He's fast, and there's no pallets.
If it's just in general, the Pig. First you get ambushed, so you're already hurt, then you get put into a Jigsaw game by a killer that doesn't believe in redemption. That is not a good time.
-
Can confirm. If I go down in solo queue I can only recover so much before someone has to get me up. I'm dysfunctional otherwise.
I'm not unbreakable.
-
I got stuck in the red ranks when they stopped having rank reset throw you down to brown every month. I do rotation, but i don't play very seriously. I mean, I'll sacrifice you if you let me, but meh.
Just play solo. Solo red ranks is kino as long as you're not trying to do a specific task.
