  • I felt the exact same way. Most killers aren't going to be effected, and though it's my personal belief that you should never be in a chase long enough for bloodlust to activate (because you'll have to break a pallet and lose it anyway, or it just takes too much time to build up) it is nice to bloodlust around an unsafe pallet to get the last survivor.

I'm really surprised a lot of people are relying on bloodlust though. This experiment was eye opening for me.

  • If you're always being chased at the beginning of the game and you don't want to be, at the start of the match if there's no other survivors around hide in a locker until another survivor gets injured. At high ranks if you do this and there's a survivor around you're gonna get trolled, but if you really, REALLY don't want to be the first one chased, that's how you do it.

Really it just sounds like the fear is getting to you. Mute your game so you aren't bothered by the terror radius (and make sure you can hit your skillchecks without the sound tone) It'll make the game much clearer for you. The atmosphere can be rough but...it's not real and has no effect on actual gameplay. Remember that.

    1. No
    2. Yes
    3. Remove bloodlust giving a speed boost, and increase the speed of breaking pallets/vaulting so the killer still has to play the loops if he wants to catch you, but he doesn't just start running at you at super speeds.
    4. Working. Thanksgiving week etc.

Ironically, I don't think any of those tactics would work in the past if survivors were anywhere near the skill level of today and given how the game was in the past. Actually, even today those tactics are a bit outdated other than the trapper and nurse one.

I mained Trapper back then, I swear the game was more of a map study and half the battle was won before you got into the game.

Poor Hillbilly. His chainsaw ain't what it used to be.

  • I want a glitched out killer that's just a collection of pixels. I don't care what you call it or what power you give it, but just a swarm of messy glitchy pixels please.

  • Well boys. Gonna tell ya how we handled that in the old days. Play Trapper and trap the infinite, Wraith and sneak up on them, Hillbilly and zoom around until you catch them out of position, or Nurse and blink with a giant middle finger raised.

That is how we do it old school.

Another developer of a semi-large project I frequent is notorious for going out of his way to personally deliver judgement for every single suggestion people provide to the product he spearheads. And this is from people who have actual knowledge of the internals of the program, to random users who request features or complain about changes. his [No] responses have become a meme in the community, because he shoots down ideas constantly, but at least he addresses every single one, regardless of how valid or informed it is.

The devs can ignore any piece of feedback they get, thats their perogative. Having the feedback section be a one way street that leads into a brick wall with no reciprocating dialogue is not how a product improves, or even how it addresses its users concerns. You're more likely to get a response in defense of a decision to save face in general discussion than you are with discussion that gets express shipped to the forbidden archives of feedback.

I can get behind this. Make it happen Behavior.

  • Eh. I'm pretty outspoken and nobody hassles me about anythin'.

Pretty sure they read the feedback and suggestions though. The only reason threads don't get many replies is because a suggestion isn't really a debate. If someone has an idea I can't really do much other than yay or nay it.

  • I can apply a band-aid in real life in about 6 seconds.

We need another healing perk to let us go EVEN FASTER.

  • I'm gonna echo this because his post is 100% valid.

When I get off work I don't wanna do rocket science when I'm trying to relax. Just lemme play the gaaaaaame.

  • This happens to me too and I hate it.

Those that mean i should drop a chase after 10 sec because i dont know if you know that but bl tier is at 15 sec

You kinda have to feel it out. Bloodlust was added to help killers deal with infinites, but now that those have been heavily crippled their main use has been kinda meh for a long time.

You're generally trying to catch a survivor out of position or in a dead zone. A lot of generators only have like, one pallet before the area becomes really dangerous. If you injure them, they have to go heal or risk being one shot, but generally what you want to do is control areas around generators. Injure the survivor, snap the pallet they dropped, then go check other generators to make sure survivors aren't using your chase time to repair gens. Rinse repeat and survivors will start to feel the pressure.

...then you get one, two other survivors are injured, one's on the hook and you're free to patrol. Slug one of the injured ones you find and now the other two survivors have to get up and save the other half of their team. It gets nasty real quick.

  • If you think you should have bloodlust...it's probably time to drop that particular chase. Once you snap the pallet the entire area is weaker, so if they come back you can bap them much, much easier.

There's no shame in dropping a chase. Don't let survivors control where you're going. You'll find the game much easier.

  • Apparently they were given out through a bug to everyone, but I don't see the banner up advertising that so maybe they decided "Eh. More cosmetics for everyone is Aldwight."

  • Same. I just broke out the Nurse for it after messing around. Messing around is a lot of fun, but I do want to finish my rift before the end of next year.

  • I will say I was trying to meme with Ultra rare myers add ons, but people didn't want to die so I brought out the Nurse.

You want it? It's yours my friend.

  • Weeee.png

I really should use mine more. I'm up to 65 while actively avoiding them.

  • I'm stupid aggressive with defensive perks, or I play defensive killers.

I'll kneel next to your killer when he goes to break a pallet, I'll bodyblock around corners to give you time to escape. I'll click the flashlight. This is a no hooking zone. You want to hit me? You're approaching me? Well then. Come. No. Guess I'll repair this gen for a bit.

I heal fast or die trying.

I play Trapper when I'm seriously playing and I drop traps in spots I know survivors frequent. If you disarm it I don't care, I don't even walk over to pick you up out of the trap unless I'm not occupied. I'm patrolling the map and constantly on the move.

I don't chase with Hag anymore though.

I also sound like this when my carefully laid plans come back to bite me in the butt.

  • Same reason people move into any position of perceived power.

  • I completed it years ago when the hatch would not spawn unless a certain number of gens were completed. A hillbilly decimated my team and I surrendered so he let me do the gens and walk out the exit gates.

If you want a less...pitiable way to do it, you have to pop the last gen before the killer closes the hatch. The stars need to align for that situation to occur but just keep knocking out gens when you're the last one left and bring the perk Wake Up! and hope for the best. (Power the gate just before the first red light appears, then wait for the killer to check your door, then finish opening it.)

  • Use your traps offensively if you have someone following you. Use them to stop loops by placing them in the loop you're currently at, and place a trap in a predictable loop that you're about to engage in. Unless the trap popper is literally right behind you he won't have time to react and you'll be able to herd your target into it.

If I ever catch a whiff of someone that might be a trap popper in my game I'm running one of the ultra rares with my trapper bag. You're gonna regret it.

  • Windows of opportunity is good for even veteran players because unless you're galaxy brained you're not going to be able to keep track of what pallets have been used throughout the match.

Really I'd just watch for the killer's red glow, and put yourself in the killers shoes. If you were the killer facing you, what would you do?

  • Can't beat the classic maps. (Burn shelter woods to the ground though.)

  • Well I'm going to say I understand trying to get healing points, if they were legit healing against plague for the purpose of being healthy regardless of MYC, well, they've already messed up there. All you need to do against plague is stay hydrated.

They made some really poor decisions and paid for it, but didn't understand why they were paying for it.

On your end, you're absolutely fine, you're neither a camper or tunneler. They had ample time to do something other than try to heal...against a plague. People are very silly.

  • On survivor side I'm using Self Care/Desperate Measures/Botany Knowledge/Soul Guard, because of the ruin/undying meta and the knowledge I won't be doing totems I have free unbreakable all match and I heal purdy quick.

Killer side I like Deathbound/Furtive Chase/Nemesis/Rancor. Does anyone else use this? No. Do I like it? Yes.

  • Pallets are in limited supply nowadays and if you pallet stun the killer you get +1000 blood points and the killer makes a funny sound.

You like funny sounds, don't you? Gotta save those pallets.

  • Green, because that's where all the tryhards are. Like brown ranks that have gotten to green for their first time and have something to prove both survivor and killer side. You see a lot of yellow rank killers do the same thing but they're less potent and easier to vanquish.

Red/purple or straight brown ranks are my chill zone. Everyone knows what they're doing. The game progresses smoothly. So on and so forth.

Okay okay green ranker, I ran you for 5 gens and my team bodyblocked for me so I could get out the exit gate. Don't have a nuclear explosion.

  • If you're playing against a set up killer like Trapper, Hag, Demogorgon, or Myers expect some variation of Corrupt Intervention/Ruin/Undying or some other perks to slow down the game while they set up.

On other killers that run slowdown they're losing the upper hand with the perks (even something as simple and cheeky as spirit fury/enduring) and they're stuck in their base kit. Them running slowdown can be a blessing. The true way to counter ruin/undying is to stick on your gen and not get off of it until it's complete. That's the secret in the sauce.

YOU'LL NEVER MAKE ME DO TOTEMS AHAHAHAHA

  • As soon as I saw this thread I was like "Wait a minute I wasn't playing earlier."

Oh. He's just a farm boy trying to farm.

  • I'm surprised I don't see Hag's mori more in this thread. She rips open the survivor and eats them alive. How metal is that?

  • Survivors became terrifying eldritch demons the first time they were sacrificed to the Entity, creatures now meant to be harvested for hope, while adrenaline surges through the veins every waking moment not at a campfire. They can spin their head around and watch you as they run away, every survivor regardless of fitness level can vault waist high ledges in the environment, and they hit hard enough with wood scattered through the realm to knock a hulking behemoth out for several seconds.

Be happy a flashlight is the strongest thing they can use. One day they'll be killing killers with a single kick.

Reading this thread, and it's comments. Mocking the players that leave because they get sick of the toxicity that people have been complaining about for years. It's exactly like BHVR treats Killers like Warner Bros. treats Johnny Depp. Same with how they treat Survivors like how Warner Bros. treats Amber Heard, and you all act like those crazy Amber Heard fans that don't listen to logic, or proof.

Like even someone who is "Trusted" came in to comment to laugh at other's expense - these are the members you consider "Trusted" the ones that only supports the toxic and bullying behavior in the community. Yeah. This is dissapointing to see.

ugh LOL i have more time on the forums these days than playing the game...

Sometimes I like to think about if the time I spend watching DbD related youtube vids or messing around the forum were all pushed into game time how much more in game items I would have...but that requires loading up the game. It's like when you don't wanna watch a 15 minute long youtube video so you spend the next hour watching 30 second meme clips.

  • Looks about right.

  • 2-4 hours a week. On my days off I sit down and mess around a little bit. On my work days I post on the forum and keep myself up to date on what quirks and tweaks were made + I like chatting.

  • You really don't need to grind anymore thanks to the tomes/rift challenges. Just flip through your tomes and pick easy challenges and you're flooded with blood points real fast, and that's without BBQ or WGLF.

I don't play a ton, but when I do it's usually just to fulfill a whim. I want to smack people with x killer for a little bit. I used to be really passive until rank reset stopped throwing you to brown ranks on the 13th. Now I play a little more seriously, but not so much that I must win at all cost.

I'm that rare meme killer you get every so often.

One of the better snowballers in the game. He's Myers if Myers was well designed.

  • Oni saw a drop in popularity when there was the bug where if your power filled up on its own (without a blood orb) you'd get locked out of your power the rest of the match and I'm not sure if that's fixed yet. Same thing with plague. Plus connecting with his club takes a bit of practice.

He's not bad, with infectious fright he becomes really snowball heavy. Without it you just hit someone in the head and carry them to the hook.

He's one of those killers you can throw into a match with any perk build and do so-so but if you overuse your club pipping is harder.

  • It's not bannable, don't worry about it.

  • I exclusively watch Truetalent when I do watch youtube. He's a long time player like me and I know a lot of people don't really get his style, it resonates me as a veteran, I'm sitting there a lot of the time nodding going oh yeah I completely understand.

I will say on the other hand a lot of pallets don't spawn anymore and infinites aren't as prominent so it's easy to forget how comfy and safe the game has become, but to me watching someone that has been around like him just feels good.

  • There's a gif on the internet of all 4 survivors spawning in the killer shack with the huntress in the middle. The game shouldn't do it, but it has since the very beginning.

Don't be sad it happened, be happy you were there to experience it.

  • I get around 0 to 4, depending on how the game goes.

  • Back in yonder day to get killer Adepts you just had to level up and get your 3 perks, and then unlock them as teachables in the bloodweb.

    Just saying.

  • Detective Tapp is in this game?

That's actually not a terrible idea for a Wraith build, but one thing: Why bloodhound?! Everything else in your build is literally screaming at you to run coulrophobia! Bloodhound is literally not even a perk it does nothing (Maybe that's the point and this is a meme but I don't get it).

I don't usually like to share my secrets publicly since people start building counters for it if things get out of hand but I'll make an exception this time for fun.

Bloodhound is a counter to Iron Will. Wraith when cloaked has bloodhound kind of built in so when you uncloak veteran players know on outdoor maps they're usually safe so if you're chasing someone they'll maneuver to get away. Normally this works but Bloodhound draws a big red line to them and I can just bop them and secure a quick down. (Everyone should be injured. Don't chase with zoomie bing bong.)

I mean if they have No Mither and don't drop blood I kinda lose to chad builds like that anyway but Iron Will is popular and people don't pay attention to their blood, ever. Of course if they do try to self care I have nurses and I'm running around really fast.

  • A lot of times I'll have one survivor hooked and I'll down another survivor I find. When I pick up the second survivor the free survivors will unhook and heal the hooked survivor so I just...don't sometimes. To the point where Deerstalker helps since I can't be bothered to keep track of slugs.

It's probably not a popular opinion but I think having one survivor hooked and one slugged and starting another chase with one of the remaining survivors puts more pressure on survivors than hooking them both. I have no data to back that up but that's how I feel.
