Running triple Hexes doesn't sound like an idea very beneficial for your gameplay. That's a serious gamble.
It's either Ruin or Devour, not both.
-
For me it's the opposite. I hate that his stalking works better when you are basically kissing the survivor's neck. Stalking is something you are supposed to do while hidden, so it makes no sense to work like that. Overall I prefer how Ghostface works, but imo Myers is very nicely designed as well.
In fact I like the disparities between both. Myers usually begins the films at a weaker state and grows progressively stronger (Tier 3) killing everyone in sight. Meanwhile Ghostface is a serial killer that stalks his victims and attacks them in a weaker state. DBD portrayed both of them really well.

So, I know this thread is primarily about the games poor optimization, but I want to add that I also feel controller optimization is terrible.
I'll be frank, I don't really know any technical terms so I can't say why it's bad, but just look at, say, Trickster. He's way better on mouse and keyboard compared to controller. The same can also be said about other killers like Huntress, Deathslinger, Oni, and Nurse, but he's probably the most blatant case.
The problem with Trickster is the lack of deadzone settings for controller, so you can't do fine adjustments with your aim. You can compensate that on Nurse, Huntress and Slinger by flicking the joystick, so they 90% of the time they play the exact same as on PC. You can't do that with Trickster because his attack doesn't "flick", it's a stream of knives so keeping up with survivors (especially PC survivors) is borderline impossible.
-
Ghostface refilling 50% of his power meter for each "Marked Stab" or "Silent Stab".
Change Slinger name to "The Gunslinger" or "The Outlaw". I love his aesthetic and power, but I can't say "Deathslinger" with a straight face.
-
I think the actual perks that we have will be renamed and have their icons changed. It makes no sense to have two perks that do exactly the same things.
-
Perks aren't supposed to be counterable, I honestly don't have a problem with neither. Tinkerer imo was a bit overbuffed, but it's not impossible to deal with, same with Dead Hard.

Is the no footsteps while phasing a constant bug every match or does it happen once in a while?
@[Deleted User] said:
Kind of have to be a masochist to play Spirit in the current patch. No footsteps while phasing, and since most survivors run Iron Will, you have literally no input to go off of many times. Cool part about Iron Will is that survivors don't need oxygen at all when they have the perk, so it's completely one sided and they emit zero sound. Very healthy perk.
I have my doubts if it is a bug. The Pinhead PTB doesn't have nothing about fixing it, even though it's been almost a month that way.
-
I feel this is too confusing and has potential to be overpowered. Thanatophobia is already a non-hex perk that helps with defending totems. Legion with Ruin/Devour+Undying+Thanatophobia is already really good.

Is it victim blaming or is it players playing victim when they actually aren't.
I'm not trying to downplay survivor players. I'm trying to get people reevaluating it and to get them to see that maybe the solution to it is already in the game.
It reminds me of when i got into a fighting game. I kept getting projectile spammed and ended up complaining about it. Mayority of people told me to suck it up, go into training mode and learn how to fight it.
I did and i never had issues with it again. If people there agreed with me and said my opponents were so scummy and skillless i still would have issues with it.
Seriously try it yourself. Next time someone gets tunneled go out there and try and stop the killer. Even go down for them. It seriously either stops tunneling in it's tracks or make it such a waste of time that the killer automatically loses
Most of the time you'll just be slugged. So your team wastes time picking you up and the other survivor gets tunneled anyway. Best hope is to stick to gens and hope for BT and DS plays.
-
Is this intentional though? I doubt it will be going to live release like this...

Regardless of all this and the disastrous Resident Evil launch, people will happily hand over their cash for Pinhead. It's so tiresome.
I still haven't bought RE chapter yet because I still lag a lot playing against Nemesis, so I expect playing as him should be worse.
Can't even imagine how it is going to be for Pinhead. Each of those chains spawning will probably freeze the console for 1~2 seconds.

Sometimes when waiting between matches yes.
Go read a book or something, dude.

Their are several companies out there that sell Gaming PC's. Have you tried that fix?
You have that much free time that you come to a PS4 thread to talk about this?
-
I'll probably get a Demo cosmetic as I play him fairly often. Don't really play Nancy or Steve though.
-
I just followed a Pig on Haddonfield while a Nea looped her for 4 gens. Somehow it worked.

They explicitly said on their social medias the discount was going to be 50%...

So, do you console people get PTB or that's PC only? If you could access PTB, how was it?
Also, thread name change, had a hard time finding this again >:(
It's PC only. The patch is released blindly on console and we basically have to trust the QA team.

The Michael Myers
-
If anything Pinhead is one of the "less evil" killers we have at the moment. He only tortures/kill people who open the Lament Configuration. Compare that to guys like Myers or Ghostface who kill for absolutely 0 reason.

I've tested him playing wiht a controller and I found it very playable - this was on PC, but the controls were pretty smooth.
I know it's a bit too much to ask but could you show us some gameplay on controller, please? I think it's better to give feedback right now than to wait release so we can avoid another Blight situation.

I think he looks fun to play if you're on high end PC that doesn't experience performance issues and are using m&k, I can see from gameplay why those players would love him. I'm watching and know he'll most likely be a killer I rarely see on console because performance issues and pain on controller. It's a bummer because I do love Hellraiser.
I'm hoping some PC folks will try him out on controller and leave feedback in the PTB section here or on the survey in game. At the very least have controller feedback started now instead of waiting for console to start giving feedback in nearly a month.
BHVR supposedly tests this things, and yet they took half a year to make Blight playable on console and Trickster almost 2 chapters later is still a waste of time on controller even after the numerous changed he received.
I just hope this isn't RE patch 2.0 for consoles, especially when a lot of the problems that chapter brought are coming back.
-
Everybody loving Pinhead and I'm here thinking how ######### his power is probably going to be on controller and imagining the slutters that will happen with all those chains.
-
When I read the title I thought it was kind of dumb but I really like the drawing, so yes.
-
Probably there was another survivor already trying to reveal him. Ghostface can't be revealed by two survivors at the same time.
-
Demo is balanced enough. Actually he's probably the best example of a balanced killer in this game. Strong chase and strong map pressure with portals.
-
Not even the Entity is powerful enough to fight burocracy.
-
It's a great map and promoted interesting gameplay. Even with killers who in theory suck at the map like Blight or Oni you could do some cool plays. At least it was something different from the Macmillian/Autohaven/Coldwind/Crotus Prenn rotation which are basically the same maps with different colors. Never understood the hate for it and it is a shame to see it go.
-
I got lucky to bodyblock two survivors in a room on Hawkins and did it.
-
Of course DBD won't die because of this, the game is probably at its peak right now if we're talking about sheer numbers. After the RE patch it became nearly unplayable on last gen consoles (probably the biggest playerbase the game has) and even then it didn't even get close to dying. Sure losing content is always sad, but it's not like DBD doesn't have other 20 chapters available.
-
You guys realize this information is pure up straight business, right? It has nothing to do with the game itself but the companies behind the DLC (Netflix and BHVR), we as costumers shouldn't expect to receive details like this. If anything, giving this information to us would just make people have the wrong assumptions,.
-
Losing game content should NEVER be celebrated. Now it's something you don't like, but in the future it may not.
-
The madlads really gave Pig an overheat meter.
-
I miss it already. My solo queue experience is exactly the same as yours and killer went back to the "will I stomp or get stomped" roulette.
-
He's already one of the less played killers according to the stats we got last year (only more played than Plague):
Eventually when old players who have him stop playing the game, he'll definitely disappear. Facing a single Demo will probably be YT content in two years or so.
-
It's so incredibly frustrating when you actually predict the Dead Hard but the game freezes in you palce so it doesn't matter anyway.
-
It was one of my favorite Ghostface maps, that's sad. Hawkins and Midwich are actually the only indoor maps I think are good designed.
RIP Scratched Mirror Myers I guess. Hawkins is basically the only map where it's a bit viable.
-
Nurse, everybody likes to pretend she's a balanced killer because she takes around 2 days to get the hang of and Nurse players think they are cool for bullying solo queue teams with Starstruck and Ruin.
Thankfully enough people don't know she isn't that hard to learn or otherwise there would be no variety. People bash on Wraith and Freddy players, but the true easy mode is her.
-
Basically never use their powers. With Billy just use the chainsaw for map traversal and M1 people, for Plague bring apple addons and only use her Corrupt Purge + M1.
-
Bubba imo is the strongest licensed killer right now. Good add ons, solid antiloop and an amazing area control (aka proxy camping) potential. Pyramid is a close second but his weakness to survivors mainting distance and pre droping pallets makes him a bit less solid.
Best designed is Ghostface. He feels like an actual normal guy who likes killing and is happy about doing it. Currently he's the only true stealth killer that DBD has, Pig and Myers barely have stealth, and Wraith is all about mobility and chase potential than sneaky hits. His stalk is way better designed than Myers and feels true to a guy who follow his victims around before dealing the killing blow.

I really feel like there's someone at BHVR who's just denying anyone from down grading consoles graphics. I'm assuming it's because the game would be less marketable if it looked like this
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Q9938NNL38TQ/maxresdefault-287-29.jpg
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1827FERT1ECS/dead-by-daylight-mobile-2.jpg
Ultimately, there will come a time where there are more xbox series x|s or ps5 players & any question for optimization will be answered by getting new hardware.
It doesn't even need to reach that point. Just watch PC players playing on Low, that would be perfect for us.
-
Is Hex: Ruin a bad perk because it can potentially be destroyed in less than 20 seconds?

Eh, that makes sense enough along with everyone else's comments but most i've seen is downs within 2 -3 minutes. Very concerning. A lot of killers have good control over it if used correctly; but if not, tough ######### to that killer. I KNOW for a fact though a lot of killers can make it work.
The problem is that learning the layout of that map is rough, thankfully after they enabled the offerings everybody was basically spamming them on my games. It's very hard to help your teammates if you don't know how the map works and people can easily die on hook just because nobody knows how to get there.
Even though the map is confusing, it does have a lot of god pallets and some nasty loops (that double window next to the main hall is literally an infinite). I recommend trying perks like Kindred, Bond and Windows of Opportunity to help you.
-
It depends a lot on the killer you're facing. Stealth killers and Spirit love it, Demogorgon makes good use out of his portals and Pyramid of his cages, Twins can easily bodyblock whole sections of the map, Trapper and Hag can control areas easily, but it probably sucks for everyone else.
-
My build is exactly the last one but I use STBFL instead of Sloppy. Deathslinger has an addon called Rusted Spike that applies Mangled to survivors he hits with the Redeemer, so Sloppy is kind of pointless on him unless you want to go with other addons.
The strongest one is probably the one with Ruin + Undying ofc, but you're relying on RNG to get value out of those, specially on a no mobility killer who can't defend totems well.
Don't bother with Enduring + Spirit Fury. Survivors mostly pre-drop pallets against Deathslinger.
-
"It's exhausting because you basically have to do the same thing to keep up."
No, you haven't. You can just keep playing with your casual builds until your MMR drops down and you start facing opponents who also run casual builds.
If you run strong stuff, you should go against opponents who also bring strong stuff.
-
I think it's just the lower framerate that makes you feel slower, I don't really notice a difference while playing.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Really, it should give you your grab. A hit does nothing for me when I need a grab.
Or make the hit an instadown. If a grab removes 2 health states, then the cancelled grab hit also should remove 2.
-
I go consistently against this build and I HATE IT. There's nothing impressive about bullying 4 solos with Infectious, Starstruck and Range+Recharge addons. Not even mentioning people overrate a lot how hard playing Nurse really is.
Thank God I haven't met a single Nurse with this build since MMR begun. People who play like this deserve nothing but to face 4 man deathsquads everyday.
-
This doesn't even make sense. Plague is straight up a pure 1v4 killer. She relies on getting the entire team infected ASAP and force survivors into cleansing to get her Corrupt Purge for a snowball. She can't even down you with Vile Purge alone.
Meanwhile Trickster is a pure 1v1 killer. The laceration decay makes him very tunnel visioned and his knives are way stronger on loops as he can basically "quickscope" them while Plague has a charge time.
-
I have already seem two people using this perk. Both were doing adept Laurie.
