You're right about that! We here in DBD like to preserve as many skilless perks and mechanics as possible, most of all 360s. Why be skillful and loop when you can just spin and get i-frames?
Well, I take it back.
OP apparently isn't the only person who can't hit spins.

If be willing to meet half way. Bring back the old locomotion and tighten it up a bit rather than what we have now.
I saw one survivor and i could tell he was using a keyboard because he only ran in 8 directions, all angles.
It reminded me of Duke Nukem 3D. You know when the sprites turn around and they can only face certain directions because of how they’re drawn?
I just think survivors should have SOME animation when turning. Its sad to see a game that was brought up to date throw it all away for what feels like the 360 montage crew. I played survivor and I had no issues. Then again I play survivor on PC with a controller cus comfort so perhaps being used to 3D platformers that was why. If you use a keyboard or only play pc games maybe it was jarring having fluid movement
Sure. New animations, old movement. Everyone(?) wins.

On the contrary I have been hitting them.
Survivor mains still haven’t answered the question: If 360’s “never work” as you claim then why did you scream and cry so hard to have them back? If 360’s are useless then why couldn’t we keep that nice locomotion? Why do we need horrendous character model turning once again?
You ever play Dark Souls?
The jump from 1 to 2 was wild for a lot of reasons. 2 felt a lot clunkier and weightier, your turning radius in general was way reduced. You had to take a wide berth to run in circles in 2, whilst in 1 your movement isn't restricted at all. I could run in every direction at once whilst being in the same spot.
That was the main problem here. 360s being dead was just a symptom.
I don't know why you're zeroing in so hard on spins unless you just really want a bludgeon.
-
I #########' love watching new players figure out what they're in for.
And if I queue up with them, you better believe i'm dying to get them out.

It’s hilarious how survivors are resorting to the “mad cus bad” excuse, remember these are the people who stomped their feet, screamed and cried at the developers to remove months of animation work so that they could make 360 montages against rank 20 killers again.
Name another game where constantly 360’ing players is a thing? Its only a thing in DBD because the animations are horrendous and out of date. The rest of us normal people need to put up with 20+ year old animations all because you feel entitled to more second chances.
Oh well.
The changes are here, locomotion has been partially addressed, and you will apparently be the only person who can't hit these slow-ass spins.
Unlucky.
-
Those are the new and improved 360s you're so upset about?
Damn.
If they weren't going so fast the game can't even properly visualize it, i'd say those are the clunkiest and most obvious spins in the world.
-
Most favorite killer to versus?
Billy, as he always has been. I love me a good bullfight boss, and the chases are always properly terrifying.
Least favorite killer to versus?
Freddy. As soon as I see the sleep timer, i've already played the entire match, and it was #########' boring.
Least favorite survivor?
Claudette. But only when they're of a bloody persuasion-- nobody likes a Blendette, and we all know why.
Most favorite Survivor?

Tunneling and camping killer doesn't care about your fun at all, so why would you care about theirs? DC is not allowed, and you'll get penalty for it. But if it doesn't bother you, do what you want.
"The killer is just playing the game. Why shouldn't you?"
You know, when you are playing in certain ways, you might find that people don't want to play with you.
You'd think the possibility of going against someone playing in certain ways is something you'd make peace with before you queue up for a game.

Yeah but if killer knows where hatch is and its sitting between 2 gates within short walking distance and you know where you got down is not far enough for the last survivor to use the time to get hatch... I mean if he's lagging your ass while "Playing the game"... should be acceptable terms.
If he found it the hatch before the last survivor did, the last chance it provides has expired. It's working as intended.
The killer didn't plan to have the gates and hatch so close to eachother, it's plain bad luck. You're allowed to have that sometimes. Take the L and move on to the next match where it's just as likely to have the hatch spawn right on top of the last survivor.
Again-- play the game.

There is plenty of screen stutter events during chase that can make a spinning survivor just vanish from screen. Especially if you get the blood lust stutter right when you swing.
Yeah, like I said-- you've got bigger issues.
Like playing on Console.

My point is why do I need better reaction times and fine aim with the mouse in a casual horror game than any competitive FPS? it makes no sense other than the fact that survivors wanted to feel safe at all times, even though the game is already massively survivor sided.
The movement is just so fast now in every area. All that locomotion they talked about....gone. They spent all that time working on it just to scrap it when they could have spent that time fixing the plethora of bugs in the game.
What an absolute dumpster fire of a company. No wonder nobody at BHVR cares, someone is making a lot of bad decisions and I wouldn't be surprised at this point if half of the employees have just mentally clocked out. I know what it's like to work for a place like that.
Think you might potentially be overexaggerating just a smidgeridoo, but hey.

They run forwards then do a complete 180 behind you in the blink of an eye. All I'm saying is when you need better aim in DBD than in a fps you know something is messed up.
You gotta pause and wait for "the flip". It's really daft
I mean, if autoaim cucks you like I know it can do, fair.
But it's just like.. turning with them. I've never had a problem with it. Is it really that fast or do I just have good reaction time?

It can be.
Low FPS can make Survivors disappear.
If your FPS is that low, I think you've got bigger issues.

It really isn't that hard to avoid getting spun.

Thats a bold statement. I like to play solo, bc its interesting. Playing with 3 people on my level would be like playing in a casino where a jackpot is the norm.
Solo evens the odds. There is no ftustration when you know your teammates will be bad. Its a great handicap. But i think in the end the important thing is your mindset.
Yeah, see, that's what I mean-- you've made peace with it.
As long as I get 4 WGLF stacks, I don't care however which way the game goes.

@Alionis said:
The entire point of her power is to leave you guessing.
The comparison to the other killers also isn't fair. Billy can insta-down you, Spirit can't. Legion's power can't down you unless you're stupid enough to let deep wound run out and then you deserve it, Nurse's blink is much faster than Spirit's phase-walk and Blight can cover much more distance than Spirit while also actually seeing you.
Y'know, I never understood the whole "bUt ThE WhoLe POINt IS NOt gIvING yOU inFO" angle.
Every single other killer, before and after spirit, gives you info. Audio, visual, you name it. Because it's incredibly important for both sides to have something to work with so chases are.. y'know, fair. But not Spirit, I guess.
Imagine if we were playing CS:GO and they decided to put in a gun for the Counter Terrorists that shot around walls and auto-aimed for the head. No need for aiming or cover or risking your head, just boom. We can even give it some dumbass high-tech explanation that makes it fit. And everyone complains about it because it's busted.
"BuT tHE whOLe PoINt Is beING SaFe whILe shOOtInG"
That sure is the whole point, yes.
Doesn't make it any less busted, unhealthy, and out-of-style. You get to ignore the careful positioning and aiming a firefight that practically defines CS:GO because something is working as intended. You get to ignore the back-and-forth feedback of info in chases that helps make them so fun because Spirit is working as intended.
-
Die?
-
Yeahhh.
The only people who really enjoy solo queue are the people who walk into a casino with $300 fully expecting to walk back out with nothing.
I can't imagine BHVR's in any rush to change up the core mechanics, though-- considering Deathgarden crashed and burned, we all know they hit accidental gold and upending the flooring to replace it would be a dangerous game.

Yeah but what person gets on a game just to ruin someone else's time? Seems like a degenerate move to me.
Buddy, the lengths i've seen some people go to just for the sole purpose of ruining the experience of others on the internet is mind-boggling.
I've seen people abuse the cheat detection of Dark Souls to invade people and get them softbanned for literally just being victims. No actual feedback that it happens, no confirmation, just the knowledge that eventually, they'll lose online functionality unless they delete their character that they poured hours and hours into, and that's good enough for them. The sheer myopic degeneracy it takes to take pleasure in that kind of thing is, quite literally, unimaginable to me.
The internet brings out the worst in some people.

am i getting judging because of play style? But i am not playing as tunneller killer lol
They were swf and it was not fair for me. So i played like them, unfair.
But point is not them. Point is BT + DS together giving you 3 hits chance for escape. How that fair for killers?
This perks jjust need little nerf. When you have protection from BT you cant use DS. Other times you can use. So that will be fair for everyone.
It's a shame there's no second person you could go for in this situation.

That's something then at least because you haven't exactly left much room for anything else to be left in the game:
I'm still waiting for his opinion on Unrelenting before I make any judgements.
-
As long as they still have to actually play the video game
looking at you, Freddy, then they can bring all the gen regression they want. -
It's not a bug, it's a technique.
-
Well, this does lend some credence to my theory that the game is sentient and hates us.

I wondered if I had gotten thrown in with new players who had no idea what the cages are, but nope. A Rank 12 and Rank 8.
Maybe they were SWF together and the rest of us were just meat to them, so they wanted to try to get the last gens done and screw us solo-queue riff-raff. I enjoyed spectating and watching them fail miserably.
Who #########' knows, honestly? You'd think you'd at least qualify as a distraction so they can do more gens if you're literally right next to them.
Hanlon's Razor is a tricky one to apply here.

I was playing survivor today, running Kindred and ran Pyramid Head around the map until he finally caught up to me and put me in that Cage of Atonement which spawned directly beside a Dwight working on a generator. We were far from the Killer.
It would have taken him just a few steps to rescue me, but instead, he finished the gen, ran past me all the way to the other side of the map to work on another generator. He outright ignored me. A Meg in the distance noticed the guy left me there, and tried to run a direct route to grab me before I was at the equivalent to struggle phase, but got caught and was hooked in the basement. Neither of the 2 team mates left even tried to rescueus and we both died on first hook/cage. It was insanity lmao.
Do I expect them to be punished? Nah. I mean they got what they deserved in the end (both hooked pretty fast). You have to wonder what goes through some people's heads lol.
Prime directive: Repair Gen. Do not stop repairing gen. Do not even think about stopping repairing gen. Teammate is not gen. Proceed to next gen.
-
At least they didn't send you to Haddonfield.
-
I don't mind too much when stuff like this happens, honestly. Had a game like it yesterday where they hid for some 10-15 minutes before I found one.
I'm wasting at least twice as much of their time as they're wasting mine, so the math's on my side here.
-
I've not a single clue how any of this work, but BHVR so i'm tempted to believe it.

It's mostly just BP offerings i've been seeing from killers, though I usually don't pay attention to the offerings screen.
