I've just gotten back from the Survivor Main Council, and my god, you're right.
Survivors don't care about killer fun.
They also steal people's lunch money in secret and don't tip.
-
I'm glad someone's having fun around here, at least.
-
There should at least be an indicator as to who in the match is SWF and a hefty blood point bonus.
-
Playing at 4:3 resolution sounds like its own punishment, honestly.
-
Oh golly I hope she doesn't put 5 traps next to the hook
-
Of course not.
Do try to live a little though.
-
Very well, let me gather together the Council of Survivor Mains again

I literally just said why. When I'm getting harassed and stalked, if I play a game and get no message you think I'm thinking on other players? I'm me you're you, you may allow people to harass and invade your dm's but me I'm taking offence to that because nobody is coming to me irl so why do it online?
The problem is not me, I don't go seeking people out if I lose, the problem is with the zoo animals who can't control themselves and go out of their way to conversate with others for no reason other than to threaten death or say other things they would never say outside of the protected internet.
Here's the thing.
You can't stop people from being absolute negabrains online. If you don't want to close off your DMs, people are gonna get in there and furiously rub their sole half braincell to try and get into your head.
And you're letting them. You're letting 'em win.
Complaining about it does nothing. Learning how not to care and find the humor in idiocy and you're gonna be a whole lot happier than if you just got angry over it.
So if you're not gonna do that, block strangers from getting into your DMs.

It's easy to say that when you don't have people blow up your inbox and literally stalk you over the game I do
It's easy to say that because I don't care.
If I did, it'd be effort put in to get something actually worse than nothing.
You caring is, quite literally, a you problem.
-
Caring too much about if other people think they've won or not is a good way to drive yourself crazy.
Who cares? Let people think what they think.
-
Isn't the whole thing about Blight's Rush that it's hard for him to turn
-
"You just don't get it" intensifies
-
Whatever fun you can squeeze out of DbD ain't worth it if it's doing this to you, man.
As someone who's been in that position before-- play a game that doesn't hate you.

It's becaus new content gets people way more hyped than modified existing content. Personally I love the Wraith and Blight changes, but... I mean, what can I say, The Trickster just steals the show.
I know, but with how many people there are asking for health chapters, you'd think more people would care about these healthy changes.

communication isn't a benefit is cheating
I'm not against SWF, I'm against communication outside the game.
There isn't a possible way to stop outside communication if you have a way to play with your friends.
Everyone should be brought up to SWF instead of SWF being brought down. Or only some people being brought up.

Alright, but if I see Clementine get murdered i'm gonna be sad.

then they can just pick a damn 4th up or send one packing and play duo if not solo, or get used to waiting 30 minutes to play since nobody wants to put up with them
Or we could just use the solution I listed out after that so people aren't punished for playing solo.

Maybe so, but on the other hand, based on balancing the game, the killer is being punished by the survivors communicating.
Why should the killer be punished over the survivor?
No one should be punished. But if you're not going to fix the problem in such a way where someone doesn't has to be screwed, it doesn't really matter to say "No, ######### them instead!"
It's just taking turns deciding who gets punished and it's a meaningless solution.
If you're really set on this speed boost, how about instead, getting into a chase with the individual SWF members grants the killer a level of Bloodlust determined by their SWF size. That way, the killer is given a definitive advantage against the actual group, whilst the guy all on his own isn't thrown under the bus and can still play the regular game.

The players choose to abuse bs and use meta the game doesn't force that.
It's a good thing literally the entire survivor playerbase is rank 1 meta gamers or that would be a really dumb statement.

Show the solo person that the others are SWF as well then. Plus, if the solo played the match stealthy, then that solo would get the advantage of the other communicating anyway.
Take kindred and bam, no problem
Okay, but problem.
It doesn't matter if the solo queue guy can see the SWF. He's still gonna deal with a superbeefed killer and not benefitting from the SWF's communication. Odds are they're just gonna leave the lobby and everyone's going to wait around forever until someone bored/psychotic enough sticks around and just hides in corners because he's at a massive disadvantage.
The dude's still being punished for doing nothing wrong.
-
Feel like that's a really good way to superpunish the solo queue guy who found himself in the wrong game.
-
Does it feel better if it's 10 clicks per second instead of 100?
-
I just imagine him bouncing off all the wreckage in Azarov's like a pinball

Maybe Myers and Plague stopped seeing themselves as male and female after entering the fog. You don't know :p
Her power refers to her as female, too, which is about as post-fog as it gets.
I mean feel free to headcanon whatever you like, but literally every other instance refers to plague as female.
-
I mean.
-
This is so sad.
Can we get a thousand likes for the new character?
-
The great thing about Iron Will is that it's always useful-- always. You get value out of it every match, whether you notice it or not.
It enables injured stealth, makes mindgames in loops harder for the killer, and possibly best of all, lets you pull sneaky moves mid-chase to potentially lose the killer.

If they could actually get BHVR to do something good for them. I’d love the community to come together to force them to make good maps or fix the current ones but we dont get anything.
Survivors tend to harass them into nerfs though. Case in point everyone protesting by hook suicide against freddy, like they disconnects previously vs spirit, nurse and old freddy. Just refuse to play against what you dont like until it gets nerfed. Hmm perhaps I should protest perks I dont like such as DH, just facecamp every DH user with Bubba in protest.
I love how you managed to find a way to complain about survivors in a thread like this.
Like, it's actually incredible how the entire survivor population has rent so free in your head you're paying them every time you make a pissy post about people who play a certain side of a video game.
LGBTQ representation? That's cool and all, but have I told you about how much survivors #########' suck today?
-
You ever had to check the post history just in case you're in danger of being had?
-
I don't even want him nerfed, I just want him not brainless.
I wanna feel outplayed, not out-existed.

U gotta admit, that's exactly what the entire post is talking about. Survivors doing gens is the natural state. Killers are simply something to play around and they should be played around in fun ways.
Yes, they should.
Ideally, BHVR would have had some kind of an idea what they're doing to begin with and made their game in such a way where both sides play against eachother in effective, but fun and engaging ways, and dumb things like actual genrushing, crutch perks, tunneling and camping are not only impossible, but completely unnecessary.
Instead.. BHVR. But maybe we're drawn to the pain and the bloodsport of it all, who knows.

I say survivors decide the flow of the game because they have the strongest option available to them: Which generators to do and in what order.
Yes you can slug, but that only works if they survivors are close enough that you can chain them. One of the best tactics has always been to play separately. Spread out on generators. A killer cannot lockdown survivors without the survivors making dire mistakes first. Forcing a save , but they have 1 min to decide when to do it. They can do half of a gen before dedicating time to the hooked person as well as having perks that facilitate easier saves. It's not to say that all killers have no input, spirit and nurse can dictate the flow because survivors have very little options. If they are good, you go down. If they want a fast game, they can because pallets/windows don't do much. perks don't do much, you kind of just die.
It's a difference of perspective, I think. Whether the killer has the higher chance of winning at optimal play or not, they're still the ones who turn the game from "Hold M1 on 5 gens" to "Find the time to hold M1 on gens while trying not to get wiped".
I'd like both sides to have an equal chance at the highest level regardless of who they pick or what they take, but.. BHVR.

"They [killers] dictate the flow of the game, because they're the boss to beat"
I dont know about that. You can't pressure 4 people at the same time.
You don't have to pressure everyone at once to dictate the flow-- everything you do is something they now have to play around. Whether it's downing people, forcing them to come save, slugging, forcing the decision between healing and staying injured, ect.
-
Because the Killer is the moving force of the match. They're the one versus the four. They dictate the flow of the game, because they're the boss to beat. People like a good boss fight. People also like being able to play the game, which is a right the killer is fully able to revoke at basically any time, regardless of how self-sabotaging it is.
And ultimately, the ability for both sides to ruin the experience of the other via dumb and unfun tactics that are simultaneous incredibly lame and incredibly efficient is a design flaw that falls squarely on BHVR's shoulders for making in the first place.
-
Why would you do this to our clean even numbers, BHVR?
-
As a Survivor, you're not allowed to camp, tunnel, or play certain killers.
As a Killer, you're not allowed to hide, use structures, pallets, windows, or do gens.
Welcome to DbD.
-
I don't think this is the buff you think it is.
The great thing about Corrupt is it forces survivors towards you and encourages a 3 gen. If you do this, the second they realize that Corrupt is in play (and considering this is just two free minutes of Killer getting to do whatever they want every single killer will be bringing it), everyone's just going to hide and locker swap for 2+ minutes.
I don't think that's what you want.
-
It sounds like this game is a big potential seizure warning and you should consider putting it down for an indeterminate amount of time.

Can you tell me how to beat Survivors that wanna do gens and aren't noobs at looping? I plan on using Wraith.
Being better and smarter.
If you're up against one of the legendary Tournament™ Squads™, then that plus luck.
Which is also, as many things, a BHVR problem.

We saw what happened to Nurse, what happened to Billy (especially), what's going to happen to Freddy and what will definitely happen to Huntress. That's all it is.
What's the counter to survivors that want to win? Nothing.
This is, as many things, a BHVR problem.

The reason why is because they themselves know there's almost no proper counterplay to Spirit in a chase except guessing at nothing...which they confirm by saying that Spirit is supposed to have no feedback of the sort and that's the whole point. So...the point of Spirit having almost no real counterplay still stands, and anything that you do against her is making a wild guess and using iron will.
I don't get it lmao. It's fine if a killer has difficult counterplay, or forces you to play in a different way (Huntress, Nurse, Blight, Demo, Oni...etc) but all we want is some actual feedback on her power to make it less frustrating.
No no no, no, see, you just don't get it, alright? You need to have a very big brain to play against Spirit. She requires a higher level of thought to go against. I'd explain it to you, but unfortunately, your brain just doesn't have as many wrinkles as mine, so it'd fly right over your head.
But it's so easy.
-
Hey there paisanos, Grandpa here.
Just wanna remind you that people who don't think Spirit is fine and people who do think Spirit is definitely reasonable and fair are going to enter and leave this thread thinking the exact same thing they already were.
I would also like to remind you that there are people who enjoy stepping in bear traps and headbutting blenders.
Take it with a grain of salt.
-
I appreciate that you're going out and understanding both sides of the game, and i'm glad you're enjoying it, too.
It's unbelievable that this is something that requires both praise and encouragement, but this is DbD.
