I don't know. I've been saying flashlights have been OP for months now and yet I am told they are the weakest item in the game despite the fact that a flashlight save robs a Killer of over 8% of his objective progress in three seconds.
I get told to "just face a wall" and still get blinded from the side.
Flashlights might be the only item that can be actively worse than bringing nothing. Against a savvy killer, all they do is make you play like an idiot.
Flashlight blinds at windows and pallets? Cool, I have ears. I'll just follow the footsteps when you could have made distance.
Positioning for a save? If there's a wall next to the survivor (common), all you did was waste time. If they fake you into running out, you gave them free pressure from slugging. If you're just barely not close enough, they whip around in an unexpected direction before picking up, or you just plain mess up the timing, all you did was waste precious time.
The best and only proper way to use a flashlight is to not ever touch it the entire game until the killer forgets you even have one and makes a cocky mistake.

Too goddamn many.

We all know what he did.

She needs something. She got dumpstered.
We literally pallet loop her in solo queue now, it's sad.
She's literally unplayable.
Every time I try to queue up as Spirit, BHVR reaches through my screen to hold me down as every survivor currently playing takes turns slapping me while the Seinfeld theme plays.

Ah, but then you can dodge the Pinhead chains if they're anything other than right on top of you.
What I mean, is that it seems like so many of the skills are dependent upon leaving room for the survivor to react after it's been committed to. i.e. the actual outcome is heavily pushed into the survivor's control.
What's the point of having interactions with a killer if you literally can't react to their skills?

Survivor perks, lol.
Although yeah, Agitation+Starstruck on Doctor is demonically good when it works.
I'm old, i'm allowed to not pay attention.
-
Agitation.
LITERALLY won me at least one game, you can't tell me it's not the best perk in the game.
-
I just had a pretty decisive 4k with Oni, and i'm scared to queue up again.

Hello again, survivors of the fog. We've heard your feedback, and have come to a medically sound conclusion-- that one more thing was needed to truly bring the Dead out of Dead by Daylight. It's something we've been workshopping for a while, so we look forward to hearing your feedback.. if we hear anything at all, thanks to our new and improved
Post-game chat
Communication is the cornerstone of civilization. Many, many multiplayer games over the years have featured ways to chat with your teammates and opposition, with games like League having post-game chat that allows you to converse with other players. Unfortunately, this allows you to converse with other players.
We've discovered the glaring mistake this oversight has created, and we've quickly set to work on a solution you can expect to be implemented next hotfix.
- Postgame chat has gone the way of Console and completely disappeared.
- Instead, beside everyone's score will be a "Good game!" button. Once pressed, "Good game!" will appear beside your score for all other players to see and will linger until the lobby has been left.
- As an added bonus, giving props to another player contributes to a Props milestone for the season. Once you've hit a certain amount of props, a steadily increasing amount of Iridescent shards are rewarded. This is reset along with grades every season, but you will be given a Props counter to keep track!
With these changes, we hope to allow those with good things to say to express themselves and give a little back for positivity, while also ensuring that the only thing players with nasty things to say in postgame chat will be able to express themselves with is a steadily decreasing supply of wall plaster.
Happy hunting!

Now the real challenge begins--
Keeping it off.

Gotta love the : "..cause they want to play with friends.."
So discord is just a little extra right? Ok...
Yes.
I like talking to my friends while I play with them.

Mm yes.
Conspiracy.

I've not used Main Event to any decent effect once.
It shouldn't have a timer. Hell, it shouldn't even have fatigue.

Ok... But with that argument you have to nerf nurse too... She can literally blink on top of ppl. At least artist still has to go around objects and pallets and catch up to you. Again... Nurse just blinks on you. It is beyond me how someone has not brought this comparison to the argument yet.
I wasn't arguing for any nerfs. You can beat the Artist, I said as much.
The method to beat her is boring and lame for literally everyone and that's probably where the complaints are coming from.
And at least the nurse has to actually aim the blink at you. You literally just walk and place birds and that's it with Artist.
-
Can you beat her? Absolutely.
But you can't loop her. Like, at all. Ever. So you just have to hold W.
And i'm not sure if that's something you really want to be encouraging.
-
There's a time when Killer stops being your pastime and starts being your identity.
-
Lot of people seem to misunderstand here.
Not slugging for the 4k win-- slugging for the 4k bleedout. As in, not trying to win the game, just make everyone crawl on the ground for 4 minutes like the world's saddest snails until they bleed out to waste their time, because you hate them.
The former is a legitimate strategy, and the latter is, impressively for the bar that's been set, one of the single limpest things you can do in this game.
-
I just want the poor bastard to be able to play the game.
-
I wonder how many people actually read it.
-
Hilbilly's is a slow, painful burn.
Deathslinger's is getting knee'd in the balls so hard they shoot up into your skull every time you aim.

-
I don't expect anything of the killer-- but i'd hope they either close it out fast or farm.
I tend to do the latter when I play killer, because I know how much it sucks to get an early DC and how little slack the survivors tend to get.
The only phenomenally sad things I don't get are killers who start slugging for the 4k at this point and the ones who take advantage of the survivors' relative helplessness to bully.

No, they're not allowed because the game doesn't provide in game comms, you have to use external assets to do so, which clearly violates the tos but BHVR doesn't enforce this rule

Not true, I care that you lost Grandpa. You need to do better next time, people look up to you and your crack pipe. Set a better example, fam.
*One person cares if you lose at a video game.
-
Just do what I do:
Play whatever you feel like playing and don't mind if you win or not, because no one cares if you lose at a video game.
-
YES
Finally, they're giving standard music killers their own themes again!
-
Someone didn't read the change to his base recovery.
-
Drop the game and protest with your sweet, sweet silence.

Wasnt a key change it was a hatch change. Does the same job of nerfing a broken abused mechanic though.
It was a key change, though. It was given a charge time to open the hatch and the hatch spawn requirement is clearly meant to be, and effectively is, a key change.

I'm happy with the change. It's about damn time, but what are we supposed to do? Throw a rave?
I figured people would, honestly.
Like everyone started lighting fireworks and getting into fights when Moris got nerfed to where they are now, but right now it's just like
dead silent. It's weird.

Cool, have fun.
-
Absolutely not.
But with any luck, it'll be a kick in the ass for DbD.
-
All of it.
-
It isn't.
Slugging everyone to death should be, but it's not, with no way to even slightly speed it up, because why the hell not.
-
Holding W is another symptom of terrible balance.
If maps were smaller and better made, it wouldn't be much of a problem. But that's far from the only thing that'd need to be fixed before the game suddenly becomes good.
Don't blame people for using an effective tactic, blame BHVR for not actually fixing anything.
-
Nah, it's not a glitch. It's Michael using his Stealth style.
His power lets him switch between four styles: Stealth, Trickster, Swordmaster, and Royal Guard.

There are some people who are prominent enough here that they would be missed if they were to leave.
It's 95% of the time someone just wanting attention.
"I'm LEAVING! I'm GOING AWAY! I'm not coming back! I'm OPENING THE DOOR! One foot is NOW OUT THE DOOR! I'm starting to walk out! I'm LEAVING everyone, i'm going to CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND ME!"
Currently playing: Dead by Daylight
-
Because it's fun.
Like, are you expecting to get a handie every 4k you get?
-
It hasn't been the best thing that ever happened to me or the Scourge of God Himself
just pretty alright so far.
-
DbD heard your skill floor was naturally higher.
-
I'll go ahead and recycle this, since it's the same answer to the same question.
As someone who used to play games in a perpetual state of rage-- you have to learn how to care less about winning or losing.
Always being miserable when you lose is exhausting.
And really, we play games for fun.
Who cares if you lose? It doesn't say anything about you as a person, or a player.
Find the humor in everything. There's always something good to laugh about, even in the worst games.

Killer meta doesn't compare to survivor meta, otherwise this topic wouldn't be here
Does it only even out when you start 4K'ing?

its funny how survivors think killers are on this mindset that sprint burst was ever a problem. Only when you could activate it in the past but it does. not. sup;press dmg, DH does
Dead Hard is more hated because it's up-front, in your face denial of your hit.
Sprint Burst is better-- insidiously so.
Believe me, if you replaced every Dead Hard you saw with a Sprint Burst, you would sing a very different tune.
-
"Nerf dead hard meta build"
1 week after the Dead Hard nerf
"Nerf sprint burst meta build"
-
I find myself suddenly and inexplicably convinced.
-
You'd have 4 lit totems and a single dull totem at the beginning of the match, and a single survivor would get a Plaything totem.
I wouldn't recommend it.

If you saw this video and dont still dont understand why its an bannable offense you have much bigger problems.
I understand exactly why it's a problem.
It's just absolutely zany that this is a thing at all.
